Brushing my dog's teeth is an epic battle between her trying to lick all the toothpaste off the toothbrush and me trying to at least touch her teeth with it before she has her way. It doesn't usually go well. These toothbrushes haven't exactly fixed this but I think I'm gaining ground. Oddly, she seems better about not biting the toothbrush when it's my finger instead of one of the long plastic brushes. The toothbrushes are made of a hard plastic that goes over your finger- nice if your dog doesn't get that it's your finger in there. I always wash them out after using them and I expect they'll last quite awhile.

These are the best I've seen. These are the only ones my pup will let me brush his teeth with. The bristles are very soft, and not scary to him. Good for nervous dogs.
I really like the brushes
February 4, 2016
I really like the brushes, as do my puggie girls. Along with the CET Poultry Flavored Toothpaste, it is ideal for keeping their mouths cleaned and them loving it. They both don't like their mouths messed with, so finding these products have been a great help to me. They both are rescues and had $600 worth of dental work done a yr ago. Obviously, they can't loose any more teeth or have the problems continue. I was really worried about keeping their mouths healthy until I found this combination. If an abused pug, which the one was, will happily let me brush her teeth, when over a yr and half ago when I got her, I couldn't even handle her at all without her going into fright mode and trying to bite, will now happily have me handle her, that says a lot..

I received this item today, used it on both of my pups, and we love it.One of my pups doesn't like having her teeth brush with a toothbrush and once her yummy toothpaste is swallowed, she starts to move her head around and close her mouth to avoid the toothbrush. With this finger brush, I can steadily and gentle brush her teeth and apply the appropriate amount of pressure to her teeth and gums so that her teeth are being cleaned without her gums bleeding. One thing that would make my experience better is the finger brushes having a tighter fit because currently the brush rotate around my index finger during brushing. If I had a larger index finger this might not be a problem so this item still has my five stars.I would recommend this.
Works well
May 21, 2014
Much better than the store brand I bought (which was a very hard, stiff red plastic). This one has very soft bristles, and really seems to sweep away the plaque. The store brand was very stiff and made my dog's gums bleed (he has never had his teeth brushed before). This blue Nylabone version is much softer and my dog was very good about it - probably the softer bristles were gentler on his sensitive gums. His breath is much better now!

I hate using regular tooth brushes on my dog. We get along great with this finger tip gizmo. I recommend it.
Why didn't I get these before?
May 9, 2013
If you're like any dog owner, you want to try and avoid having to take your dog to get his/her teeth cleaned every few years or whenever your Vet decides to twist your arm during check ups. So of course you want to brush your dogs teeth often but your dog might not like having a plastic stick with bristles jammed in to it's mouth. My Aussie sure didn't like it and in fact would run away whenever I pulled the brush out to clean his teeth. So I decided to get these nifty little things in hopes that maybe he'll take to tooth brushing easier. I can say that he did and I feel as though i got even more cleaned off his teeth than i could ever get with the brush. With the brush you don't really know how far back to go or if your even making contact at times and instead brush over a flap of skin or just the gums. With these little finger things you can reach all the way back in your dogs mouth and ensure that you are brush all the areas you need to. My dog also didn't seem to mind it and was a lot more co-operative with me in regards to allowing me to actually brush his teeth. I'll definitely be using these from this point in time in to the future. Hopefully this gets me an additional gold star from my vet in regards to maintaining Bounce's dental hygiene next wellness checkup.

With this i can easily brush any area of her teeth
September 12, 2016
So much easier to brush my dog's teeth! My dog hates toothbrush and often chew on the bristles instead letting me brush them properly. With this i can easily brush any area of her teeth! Tho she doesnt like it too, but oh well, i cant let her have disgusting yellow teeth.
My Papillon loves this - Well, I love it!
April 3, 2016
I love this microfiber finger brush for my little Papillon. He has such a small mouth that it's hard to find something to use that will get way back in there to clean those hard to reach teeth. I am able to put this on any one of my fingers (even my pinky finger) and can easily rub this along his teeth and you can see the yellow grossness that comes off his teeth and on to the microfiber cloth. I can see it working and I love it. It is also very easy to clean. I just rinse it off under warm water and let it air dry. I know that the tarter can stain the cloth, but when it becomes too gross I will just purchase another one. I also like how this is much easier on my little dog's gums compared to an actual toothbrush with stiff bristles. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a little dog or for those dogs who hate to have their teeth cleaned with a traditional toothbrush.
Better than Toothbrush
April 3, 2016
This fingerbrush is excellent but it took a while to master the technique. My little Papillon only weighs 5.5 pounds and his mouth is very small. I was brushing his teeth with the small CET toothbrush and paste every few days but Radar still had gum inflammation and had to have some teeth pulled. At first I found it just as difficult to reach all the surfaces of his teeth as with the brush but gradually Radar got used to it and I was able to reach all sides and way in the back. I have a better tactile sense with this and I noticed that even if he bites down a little my finger is protected. Also, I have been cleaning his teeth every day. so I hope next time he sees the vet he'll get a good oral hygiene report.
Wonderful for fussy dogs
February 4, 2016
I have a small Cock-a-poo with a big attitude and she would make such a scene whenever I tried to clean her teeth with an actual toothbrush. The fingerbrush fits much easier in her mouth and it allows me to massage her gums as well. It's a great brush for small dogs or dogs that don't like regular toothbrushes. That's not to say that my baby isn't still a drama queen though; trying to catch her to get to her teeth in the first place is one of the most effective exercise routines I've ever experienced. This also works on big dogs too! My family has an very emotional Goldendoodle as well and she used to act like brushing her teeth was our way of punishing her and would stick her head under the bed afterwards until we got down there with her and made up. Now she acts like me sticking my finger in her mouth is the best game ever.

June 20, 2015
I have bought many gadgets to try to keep my elderly cats teeth cleaned, this is the only thing that works. I dampen it up, put it on my index finger I put her on my lap and I just pet her and rub her chin area which she loves. I eventually introduce the finger with the cloth on it and I am able to rub her teeth and gums with it. I had never brushed my cats teeth before I just started (she is 18) no matter what age your cat is you have to introduce brushing slowly. When I'm done I rinse it in the sink with Dr. Bonners uscented soap.
Really unique idea
November 10, 2011
I was getting frustrated that brushing was so hard on my dog. So I spent a few hours researching and came across this. My dog doesn't mind it as much as the brush and it help get her accustomed to brushing. It help me get to the back back teeth. I actually bought 4 of them and the first one lasted a few months. I like to run it under water with mild soap or throw it in the washer after every use.

Not a Bad Choice for Small Breeds

These finger brushes makes it easy for me to clean his teeth
May 3, 2016
Started brushing my dog's teeth as he's getting old and going under anesthesia for teeth cleaning will be riskier at his age. My dog has no problems with me touching his mouth. We often play where I stick my finger in his mouth so he gotten used to the idea of letting me manipulate his mouth. These finger brushes makes it easy for me to clean his teeth. I dab a little of doggie toothpaste and start cleaning. The bristles on these are softer though and do flatten a bit after awhile. And because my hand is small, the brush tends to shift on my finger so the bristle no longer is facing his teeth. Plus my finger gets tired after awhile. Now that he's gotten used to getting his teeth brushed, I've graduated to a regular human toothbrush with soft bristles (but still firmer than his finger brush) to give him a more thorough cleaning.
New to brushing dogs teeth but seems like a good product for the most part.
April 26, 2016
These seem to work fine for brushing dogs teeth. The only thing I don't like about them is that they are a bit tricky to clean afterwards. You really have to try and get all the plaqe off. I also wish the brissles went around a bit further. Because I have skinny fingers and it moves around while I am trying to get into the back of my dogs mouth and then I have to move awkwardly trying to make sure that I am even brushing their teeth.
Serves their purpose.
April 11, 2016
Considering the price these are great. They fit nicely on both my small fingers and my husband's larger fingers, so they are versatile. They also move around freely inside our dog's mouths allowing to get to all the teeth. My only complaint is that you really have to rinse these babies good or the bristles really stick together from the toothpaste, and the toothpaste seems to want to stick to them like a magnet. So you have to really scrub them clean. Otherwise, they serve their purpose. Shipping was very fast also.
Durable and hold up well
March 18, 2016
I bought these to use with Petrodex Toothpaste for my dog. These are durable and hold up well but I find that because the rubber is thicker than I'd like, it's hard to use them in the back of my dog's mouth. But, then again, because the rubber is thicker, when my dog bites down, it doesn't hurt! The bristles are deep so they require a lot of toothpaste, more than a regular toothbrush and I found it difficult to use because he loved the taste of the toothpaste so much he'd lick it off before I could get my finger in his mouth. Overall, these are durable and if your dog cooperates, can hold up nicely and do a good job at getting their teeth clean.
Starting off with a dog toothbrush may not be the best bet so these are an excellent alternative
February 7, 2016
If you want to save thousands of dollars in medical bills for your dog and extend their life, you must brush their teeth daily. Starting off with a dog toothbrush may not be the best bet so these are an excellent alternative.I attempted to brush my dogs teeth for the first time with a regular dog toothbrush and it was very difficult. Luckily, I ordered these at the same time. They are constructed out of a soft rubber, and the actual "brush" part is made of soft bristles that are an excellent start/introduction to teeth brushing for the dog.I would recommend these for others.
These are so much better than the other brand
September 16, 2014
These are so much better than the other brand, a clear, hard rubber, rather large finger brush that is hard to use in my small dog's mouth. These are different -- a not too large finger fit and a softer material that's so much more pliable in use. While I would prefer the two-pack to offer one of these in a slightly smaller size for those of us with small-mouthed dogs, they are excellent in that the brush part is soft enough, with enough "bristles" to act as a good toothbrush.Good job, Nylabone! Now just offer a two-pack with one of them slightly smaller and I'll give it 5 stars. My Italian Greyhound's mouth is long and narrow, and needs a still somewhat smaller brush (in length and width) to be optimally effective. Just a little -- please!

This isn't effective for really cleaning the dog's teeth but I've used it to help in introducing my fingers in his mouth before I either brush or add a gel or a tooth powder to slightly clean his teeth/mouth. My dog accepts the process much easier. I like it. I also wear a rubber gloves underneath and then wash it immediately thereafter.

September 6, 2016
This fingerbrush is nice because its soft enough to not hurt or freak out your pet. And it allows my finger to fit and reach the back molar of my cat. It's not too tight either and can be just thrown in the wash. The only down side is that it really should be washed right after use (which is not practical for most households). I wash it as much as I can afterwards but I have come back to find little black dots in the fabric. After running it in the wash it seems fine but I have to brush my cat's teeth everyday so it'd be nicer if I could clean it by hand as well with better effects.
Works great, is it safe?
February 20, 2016
This works great with my dog, but I worry about its cleanliness. I rinse it out after each use, but is it really clean enough with the rinse or is bacterial growing in the cloth? Do I need to wash it with soap after each use? If I use soap, can I be sure I got all the soap out of it? I know I only rinse my toothbrush after use, but, somehow the cloth is more worrisome to me. Anybody know? Maybe I should microwave it? I'd hate to find out the hard way that I infected my dog's mouth. If anyone knows the answers, I'd love to hear from you!
Great for any pet!
December 10, 2015
This was awesome for starting the process of having my dog get comfortable with brushing regularly. I used the "Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste for Dogs - Poultry Flavor" with it and he now gets excited everytime I bring it out. It's great because you are essentially using your finger to ensure you get in all the right places and it's not as traumatizing for the dog if they are not used to it. I plan on switching to a more traditional dog toothbrush soon but this is fantastic.

December 5, 2015
This is a great idea. I think it would work best for medium to larger breeds though. I have a 13 lb papillon and it made it too tight in his mouth to work as it was more than likely intended to. I use a baby wash cloth and wet it with warm water than use the oral cleanse gel on my index finger and it fits better, probably because the material of the baby wash cloth is thinner.

Skip These and Use a Wash Cloth
May 17, 2017
Maybe some dogs will like these but my dog did not. They are actually not comfortable on the gums, so it's no wonder she didn't appreciate me scrubbing her teeth with these. I now use a wash rag with wonderful success. You might want to save your money.
Way too big to fit on finger.
December 7, 2016
The size of these are to big for medium size hands. When I use it my finger is not fully secured and so it ends up slipping around which makes it hard for me to really brush my dog's teeth. Would not buy again but if you have large hands this might work for you.
I would recommend the long plastic toothbrushes instead
November 28, 2016
These were not for me. I have a 50lbs husky mix. When using these I had a lot of difficulty accessing the back of her mouth. Also, I have relatively above average sized hands for a woman, but these wouldn't stay on my fingers. Several times the toothbrush slipped off inside my dogs mouth and I was scared to death that my dog might swallow the brush and choke. I would recommend the long plastic toothbrushes instead.

Didn't Work For Me
July 8, 2016
The brush was hard to get off my finger and it was not easy to brush my dogs teeth with. I had a hard time trying to maneuver the brush around in order to get to the teeth. A baby toothbrush worked better for me. I have a small 12 pound dog and a medium 24 pound dog and this brush was too big for them.
Good dog toothbrush.
January 24, 2016
Made teeth cleaning fairly easy, for the 20s my dog will let me mess with her mouth. These are Ok, a bit difficult to clean all toothpaste out between the skinny bristles, and I wonder if the bristles are good enough not being like the kind found on human toothbrushes. Only other complaint is they are hard to store in between cleanings without dropping them on the floor or worrying about what they are touching. I guess I need a bowl for them or something.

May 6, 2015
The soft cloth allows me to clean my dog's teeth without hurting the gums (which the hard toothbrush can), especially since she doesn't like the whole procedure and moves her head and mouth a lot. The cleaning is not as effective as with a brush, but I'm able to reach a couple of spots that are impossible otherwise. I use this fingerbrush in the morning, and the regular brush at night after her meal.
Not so great for small dogs.
September 2, 2014
These finger brushes are not very easy to use on small dogs (Chihuahuas and mini Poodles). The microfiber brush is fairly wide on my finger. I think my rubber finger brush works better. I did not see any residue from my dog's teeth coming off on the microfiber.
hard to clean
August 3, 2014
I thought that this would be perfect for cleaning my little dogs teeth, but it's just too hard to clean. I mean it's soft and pliable, so it's easy to use but I just can't get it clean. Once I used it a couple of times, it was yellowed and nasty. I tried and tried to clean it, but it remained nasty. So I threw it away.

Not a good fit for me and my pup
October 12, 2016
I had high hopes for these finger brushes. I eventually had to abandon them because they didn't fit well on any of my fingers. I've reverted back to using a small child's tooth brush, which also very satisfactory, but better than these finger brushes. Not only were they too big for my fingers, I also had to stop repeatedly to adjust the position on my finger. It's hard enough to brush my boy's teeth, but the Nylabone Advanced Oral Care Finger Brush made it even harder. To put this into perspective, my pup is a Sprocker Spaniel.
Not Very Effective
July 7, 2016
I got these for my dog when he was a tiny pup. I remember really liking them for the convenience of brushing with my finger. I bought them again for my now-grown dog and my second dog. I don't really like them, especially for adult dogs. If you're looking to actually brush your dogs' teeth, they don't really do the job. The bristles are very small and soft (like a millimeter). After brushing regularly with a basic human toothbrush, I can definitely say that those do a better job. They may be nice for puppies who are still getting used to brushing. I just don't see how they're a long-term option for dental care.
NOT FOR TINY DOGS - EVEN IF YOU FIND IT BY SEARCHING "SMALL DOG TOOTHBRUSH"
June 9, 2015
I found it searching under "small dog toothbrush" so I was hoping it was tiny. Well, as tiny as it can be given that it has to fit on a human finger. But this is just WAY too big. Bristles are too long to fit in my tiny puppy girlz mouths. One dog is 5 lbs & the other is almost 8 lbs. This does not work at all.
One-Size-Fits-All finger brush doesn't fit all fingers.
July 2, 2014
These brushes are one-size-fits-all... And that's the rub. They're too big for my finger and I can't keep them at the right angle, because they start to slide and turn on my finger.I do like the texture of these bristles over regular toothbrushes (also from Nylabone), because I think they're gentler on the gums, making it easier (and safer) to brush the teeth at the gumline. But if I can't keep the bristles where I want them, then all you can do is go back to a regular toothbrush.
Flawed Design
September 1, 2013
I wasn't getting to my maltipoo's far back teeth with a child's toothbrush. I reasoned that the finger brush would force her to open her mouth wider (it did) allowing the back teeth to be brushed better (it didn't). The tip of the brush should be tapered to a rounded point (not rounded for a finger) and bristles should continue all the way to the end of the tip. I understand that the size must accommodate most fingers, but in doing that, they forgot the dog's teeth!

Got less and less clean after use
August 29, 2014
I think it's a decent idea but impractical; it is basically a disposable item after a week or so. You can smell and feel the germs in the fabric not long after, unless you are scrupulous about cleaning with strong soap. I actually was and even then the fabric never felt totally clean, I felt like it was counterproductive, simply adding microbes into my cat's mouth.I think the toothbrush is still unfortunately the only way to go. The funny thing is, the packaging says so itself in the back! So what's the point of buying this?

June 19, 2014
I guess if you're just training your dog or puppy to accept tooth brushing, this item is ok for training purposes b/c it's soft and gentle. But, it doens't really get their teeth clean, so i end up using a toothbrush after all. Also, this thing gets gnarly after it is used and washed and dried a few times. Do you really want to stick it on your finger time after time? I didn't. Would not purchase again. Also the seam across the top makes the corners stick out a bit, which get in the way. Not impressed.
