Nice Digital Picture Frame.
May 2, 2016
Purchased this for my father-in-law. I checked with all the camera stores in my area. None carried a Digital Picture Frame. Best Buy had one model, two sizes. Not at all happy with Best Buy's options and they cost more. So, I looked on Amazon. Found a ton of them to choose from. This one has excellent quality. Easy to load pictures. Nice slim design. Looks great on a side table or just about anywhere you place it. Picture quality is excellent. Nice reproduction of color. Get the 10inch size as the 5x7 will be just too small to view pictures from a distance.
Great digital picture frame
April 9, 2016
While it doesn't come with any internal memory or a memory card it has great picture quality and is very easy to set up and use. The integrated base makes it very stable in landscape mode. Since the SDCard and USB both stick out the back of the base you won't be able to use a USB drive that is very long with it. The remote control is a nice thing to have as well as the motion activated automatic on/off. I would definitely buy this or the larger one again.
Excellent Frame (if you don't need the bells and whistles)
August 17, 2015
I wasn't looking for a digital frame with its own email address or a frame that was going to call me to remind me to go on another vacation. I wanted superb picture quality, and I needed a frame that would recognize portrait orientation and adjust accordingly. My old frame cut off the tops on all portrait pictures (a plus if I was in the shot). Well, this frame has better picture quality than I could have imagined, was a breeze to set up, and does adjust portrait pictures to display the entire image. It sits on my desk at work, and I am blown away by things I've never seen in some of these pictures. I usually only write reviews on products I hate, which tells you how much I love this frame.
NIX X12D Frame and Customer Support are AMAZING!
August 15, 2015
Yes my five star review for the NIX X12D Digital Photo Frame is for the product itself BUT more importantly it is for the AMAZING customer service assistance my wife and I received from Daryl. The frame is for our grandson who has severe autism. At age 18 he doesn't yet talk and bounces off the walls. However, one of his favorite past times is sitting still for hours and watching videos of all the fun times we've had as a family - swimming, going on amusement park rides, sled riding, playing on park swings, etc. He has been using for years an older digital frame from Brookstone that played videos from our Casio Exilim camera. Up until recently all was well, but now with our videos being created with more updated cameras AND iPhones, his older digital frame was useless - it couldn't utilize the new video formats. Thus we purchased the NIX X12D. However, we found that although all of our videos from the past 8 years could be played on the NIX system, we needed to first convert them to MP4 format . We had no idea how to go about doing this - and we had 10GB of videos. We called NIX and explained the issue to Daryl. He spent over an hour PATIENTLY helping my wife, who by her own admission is a non-techie grandmother, to convert all videos which now work PERFECTLY on the new digital frame. We wish we could send Daryl a video to show him the delight that his "above and beyond" customer service produced for our happy grandson. Thank you NIX for not only building a capable, sturdy system (our grandson is not always gentle with electronics - so far so good) but more importantly for hiring support personnel such as Daryl who go the extra mile.
NIX X18A Digital Frame only! No motion sensor or 18B model!

NIX X18A Digital Frame
My wife and I purchased this device recently at the end of August, 2012 from Amazon and enjoy it immensely. This unit delivers a bright, sharp, saturated, colorful image right out of the box.
This model is a widescreen model. We own cameras of differing formats. Fortunately we have a widescreen format camera (Canon SD 3500) and I think that is the format of the future. However, we have thousands of images on the older 4/3 size format, and the same is true for my SLR 3/2 format digital camera. Our images are mainly nature photographs with a few family images spaced throughout the slide show. When using the NIX X18A unit the screen is full size for all image formats when the display mode is set for "Optimal". This setting is found when clicking the "Settings" button on the remote and is the default condition. When setting the Display mode to "Original" there is no stretching applied to fill the screen so images of people are far more flattering. However, there will be a vertical black bar on both sides of the images when viewing the older formats. This is not a problem for us, so our picture frame is set for "Original".
My opinion is that if you have mainly people images on the older, almost square 4/3 format, I would buy the smaller NIX X15B which is a 4/3 format unit and you might be happier. The photos would fill the screen, and on the "original" setting, no stretching would occur for any format. If you were to use widescreen images, a horizontal space appears at the top and bottom of the screen on the NIX15B.
I use a San Disc 8 GB SDHC (Class 4) card for the photos and the music. It can be purchased at Amazon for less than $6.00. A comment was made in a previous post that you cannot load the pictures directly into the card and then place the card into the picture frame. I resize all my image files to 2000x2000 pixels (~700 jpg images and growing) in a separate folder on my computer, and then copy that folder onto the SD card. I also place the mp3 audio file in the same folder. That way the music is just for those files. I have no trouble viewing my image files on the NIX. As an aside, I found the PNY 8GB Optima HD card (Class 4) was faster in downloading the picture files from the computer to the card. That is a small issue but where I am putting in 100's of files, it saves me a bit of time.
Our slide show time is set for 5 seconds. This is done by pushing the "Settings" button on the remote. On our NIX it appears that the actual timing depends on the transition (fade) such that the time the image is viewable can vary between 4 seconds and 10 seconds. This is not an issue with us.
If the image has a title, it can be viewed by pressing the "Menu" button on the remote.
The addition of music to the slide show is a bit tricky, but once learned it goes quickly. On our NIX, the slide show comes up if the SD card is in place. I insert and replace the SD card with the unit powered off. With the unit powered up, push the "Exit" button twice to get the screen to show the icon with "Pictures" on it. Push the right arrow button once and the "Combo" icon should be highlighted. Then push the "Enter" button twice. Wait a few seconds until you see the list of picture files on the screen and then push "Enter" again. You should then get an almost blank screen and after several seconds the sound will come on. Make sure the sound volume is up in order to hear the sound because the unit comes with the sound volume off. The volume control is on the remote too. We have found that the sound seems to be too loud or too soft at first, but if you go behind the unit and press the "Up/Down" controls, it seems to adjust in smaller increments.
I have loaded an AVI video file into the included 4 GB thumb drive, and inserted it into the NIX and that worked beautifully, too. If you go to the FAQ on the NIX site for the NIX 18-A, you will find a link to a video converter that works well, but also loaded an unwanted search engine into my computer, so beware.
It seems that whenever a button on the remote is pressed the music goes away and you have to start over again to get it back. The music "Combo" function is an area where improvement could be made.
The NIX 18-A digital picture frame is a great piece of equipment. We thoroughly enjoy it with or without the music.

Back then a 32GB Micro SD card was a pretty huge capacity
January 16, 2017
On April 20th, 2011 I ordered SanDisk 32GB microSDHC Memory Card (Bulk Package). As I mentioned previously we were planning a trip overseas, I purchased this for additional photo storage for my phone. Back then a 32GB Micro SD card was a pretty huge capacity. This card served its purpose and I use it to this day. I've never had any failure or lost any data.Seller: 3rd Part MerchantCondition: NewPurchase price: $58.77 (Shipped)

I bought this to use in my android tablet and have had no issues. There is not much to say about it. It works for my purposes and if I needed to buy another one, I would not hesitate to buy this same exact one. It arrived in adequate packaging without damage. The price was very good. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone needing one without hesitation.
Great product. Very pleased
November 12, 2015
I have no complaints about this product. It may not be high speed but for the price it performs extremely well. It also came witH reader which according to some reviewers it did not so that was an added bonus.I have had no issues using this. It is as advertised. Anyone who has ever bought and used a memory card should know that if it's 32 MB that roughly 29 to 30 MB will be usable. That's the case with any size memory card you buy. A slight part is always unavailable.I have seen many reviews about mislabeled products but the product I received was legit. I never deal with the "other sellers" who may offer it at lower prices. Sometimes lower prices are not the best deal.
Working fine in my tablet
October 27, 2015
So long as this review remains at five stars, I'm satisfied. This card is in my Acer Iconia tablet Acer Iconia A1-830-1633 7.9-Inch Tablet (Silver). It was recognized just fine, and hasn't shown any issues.Of course, the price of this will keep going down as we shove more data storage into smaller spaces, so this could get outdated fast. But the brand itself seems to be doing fine, so feel free to check out a larger size, if that's what you need or what seems more reasonable, based on price.
Windows Phone User Chimes In
April 27, 2012
I know there are not many Windows Phone users, and even fewer that are willing to (in some cases) void warranties to expand their device's storage space.I'm one of those customers though. The short version is this card functioned 100% fine in my Dell Venue Pro that came with an 8 GB card. If you're looking for a good 32 GB card for your Windows Phone, this may be the place to start. I can not guarantee it will be fine in your phone, but I do not see why it would not.I'm going to get more in depth, so if you do not want to know a bit of useless information, quit reading now. This is a good card, even for Windows Phone.Let's take a step back. If you don't know, Windows Phone basically pools all available memory into one space. Internal and external storage is treated in much the same way. So when you install an SD card, you can no longer get the SD card out and use it in a computer or another device. In addition, again, due to the way storage is handled, the SD cards that will function properly with Windows Phones is a bit of an unknown. The SD cards need very quick random access speed, not fast sequential speeds, which is why you can not use class ratings to determine a good card. As a matter of fact, Class 10 micro SD cards are tweaked in a way that increases sequential speed, but random speeds are reduced. This is great if you are someone that wants to transfer a lot of music or other media to a device very quickly, but not good if you want to quickly load a config file for an application you are opening. This is the same idea behind people wanting solid state drives (SSDs) in their computersAnyway, I digress. Windows Phones are very particular about which SD cards they accept due to the reasons I mentioned above. If you want a card that will perform well in a Windows Phone, this may be what you want.
Working Great in Nexus One, Better than Class 2 Performance
October 14, 2010
I've been impressed with the Sandisk 32GB Class 2 microSDHC card so far. I bought it with bulk packaging, which means it came in a small plastic clam shell case slipped into a little plastic envelope. There were no included adapters.I'm using the card in my Android Nexus One cellphone. I've used a benchmark app on the phone to gauge performance of the card, and it is doing about 5MB/sec writes and 9MB/sec reads. This is with settings at 10MB test data size and 8KB write unit size. I saw similar write performance when the card was mounted on my PC via a USB 2.0 card adapter. These numbers indicate it's performing somewhat better than the minimum guaranteed for Class 4 cards, which is great. I'm coming from a 16GB Class 6 card and haven't noticed any performance hits, so far.

Tiny USB device that barely extends past your USB port.
September 30, 2017
Bought this to put into the USB port in my car so I could play MP3 music through the radio. Previously I had a larger, longer, USB stick. However I was afraid of knocking it since it stuck out so far. I also didn't want people looking in and seeing this blue USB stick that they may want to steal. I replaced it with this tiny little guy. No more worries about knocking it out, it barely sticks out farther than the USB port. It's also black and blends in very well so anyone looking in can't see it.
Almost invisible Storage!
June 10, 2017
Perfect for my Nintendo Wii U. My first Cruzer is full, and I liked it so much I bought a second one. Of course it was only to find out that we can only use one USB device with a WIIU system. I was sad.......At least I had a second Wii U and I just put the second one into that console that was just about ready to need more storage. So nothing lost. What I like is how small these things are, lots of storage and you can't even see that these are on my wii U console. They are almost Invisible and hold lots of data. Also, if I decide to get rid of my Wii U I can reformat and use this on any other device. I feel it is worth the money and less hastle than an external hard drive that is recommended for the Wii U!
Best USB flash drive I've tried!
October 24, 2016
Tiny but powerful with great features such as password protection and easy file backup function. It comes with standard encryption but other features such as military encryption, automated backup, and Cloud/other device synchronization are available through a reasonably priced upgrade. For everyday use though, really an upgrade isn't needed. All files are password protected anyway. Great for sensitive data and also pictures, resumes, correspondence, etc. Can also be used to move files from the main device to create more memory space. It measures well under an inch across and can be easily stored and carried anywhere. 16GB. Lots of space! It's especially good for smaller devices such as tablets but it worked great on a full size laptop too. SanDisk Cruzer Fit CZ33 16GB USB 2.0 Low-Profile Flash Drive- SDCZ33-016G-B35
Just What I was Looking For
December 31, 2014
I have a work laptop and after the IT guy complained about how big my profile backup was, I knew I needed a way to keep my personal files off of the HD of my work laptop. I take my laptop to work every morning and home every night so a thumbdrive stays in the line of fire during normal usage. I tried using a normal "stick" thumbdrive but eventually it got bumped and bent. I knew that I needed a low-profile flash drive ASAP. I spent a little more money on the SanDisk versus the cheaper low profile memory. When I got it I was impressed by the size, it was a smaller profile than either of the wireless mouse usb transmitters I use (one for work and one for home). After eight months of having it continually plugging into my laptop, I have been very pleased with how it works as memory and how it is not damaged by normal handling.
Almost too low-profile, fit perfectly everywhere.
March 27, 2014
I bought this particular USB flash drive for a car stereo. The low profile of this drive is perfect for USB equipped car stereos, and my removable face plate will fit in its protective cover with this drive still plugged in. Not having to unplug the drive every single time you remove the face plate is a huge plus. From the product photo, you might (as I did) think that there is a small LED mounted in the top of the drive as a Read / Write indicator (and there is one, however it is recessed into the unit and invisible unless active), but that is actually a tiny metal loop. The loop is there so you can thread the loop with string so you have more of a purchase on the drive when unplugging. Otherwise, the drive is so low profile, you may not be able to easily grasp it. Also you may want to thread that loop just so you don't lose the drive! If you've ever used a Bluetooth equipped wireless mouse on your laptop, this drive is pretty much the same size as the USB Bluetooth receiver you'd plug into the computer. For reference, 32GB = Approximately 167 CDs worth of MP3 music at 320 kbps, or 222 hours of music at 320 kbps. Approximately 417 CDs worth of MP3 music at 128 kbps, or 556 hours of music at 128 kbps.
SanDisk has always been trusted by me
February 16, 2014
I use this as a backup drive for all my important documents, photos, etc. I never save anything to the main hard drive but utilize this small drive as a convenient way to store files. The reason I use backups are due to an unpredictably event among hard drives called "hard drive failure" rates. Never save anything to a main drive and always BACKUP. I am a 20 year veteran of tech so I know how important backups are. Around 92% of drives survive the first 18 months and this is due to all the moving and gyrating that they do in their course of their lifetime. And then one day they just might stop so again backups are important. This USB fits in a USB slot on the back of my main computer and I just rename it in Windows file manager as BACKUP or whatever may be relevant to the files that I am backing up (i.e. PHOTOS, MUSIC, etc.). Then just utilize drag and drop or save files directly to it. Piece of cake .SanDisk only offers a 2 year warranty in the USA but will offer 5 years in other regions which doesn't make sense to me.Still it does its job and works as advertised.

Great Picture Quality but has a problem with the shuffle when the motion sensor is on
July 24, 2017
I ordered the Nix Photo frame for my son's birthday and so impressed got one for my husband and me. Several years ago I purchased a fairly inexpensive slide scanner and went through probably over 1000 slides and put them on a SD card and then on our computer. When I purchased the Nix frame I just copied these scanned slides onto a SD card and absolutely love to see all of our old pictures in beautiful clear color.
I wrote the review above right after setting up the Nix Frame. I have discovered when the motion sensor is turned on and after it goes off and comes back on it seems to repeat the same pictures over and over even though the shuffle is on. I have over 1000 pictures on the SD card in the frame but the same 50 or so kept showing when I had the motion sensor on. Today I disabled it and am seeing many more pictures.
The motion sensor is a great feature if it enabled you to shuffle through all your pictures but it doesn't.
Great quality photo display
August 17, 2016
I would give this 4.5 stars, because it's very, very good -- the picture size and quality are really wonderful, and the storage capacity is more than adequate.

My quibbles are these: 1) you can't pivot the frame and have the orientation of the picture fill the frame, as happens in a smartphone (and in my older, smaller digital frame) so vertical (portrait) photos are smaller and don't fill the frame; 2) for me, I don't want a slideshow -- I use it in my classroom, and only change the picture every morning... you can pause on a single photo (as long as you have the motion sensor turned off so it doesn't restart after a period of stasis), but it's difficult to navigate 'up' to browse for the photo you want -- you have to tediously scroll through, in my case, 81 lines of five photo thumbnails each; and 3) the thumbnails themselves are not terribly high quality, and they load slowly, as you move to each new line in browse mode.
Easy to use, attention-getting looks. Great for the price!
March 13, 2016
TL;DR: The motion detector is a blessing in that it will keep the electronics from overheating, and even people who are around technology all day long will take notice of the stylish device you have sitting on your desk. If you don't need WiFi, and want a modest digital picture frame (or several!), you could do much worse than the X08E.

DISCLAIMER: I paid full price for this frame, based on my purchasing and decision-making skills, and my need for a great digital picture frame. This is a fair and honest review, please click "Yes" below next to "Was this review helpful to you?"–thanks.

There's something about this frame, such that as soon as you unbox it, you realize that it's slick and special somehow. From the breezy and well-designed GUI menu system, to the basic good looks, and almost "polished" appearing screen, this motion-aware picture frame does not disappoint (except perhaps in one area–read below).

Since nearly all digital picture frames are the same, I won't bore you with the details, lest to say that this frames does NOT support WiFi (meaning it's affordable), so your choices for image hoisting are SD card and USB "stick", with the quote marks included as the angle of the rear frame bracket means that only the tiny "nub" style USB drives will work in this model. The box doesn't actually mention USB support, so rest assured that the port is there and functional (life hacking tip: you should actually be able to charge your iPhone with this frame!).

There is one confusing item in the menu system that warrants explaining. The setting for the motion control itself is pretty confusingly worded, so just know that as long as you avoid "Disable" (which mysteriously turns the feature off) you'll be okay. Translated, the other numbers are just how long it waits after you've left the room before the frame shuts off.

The CPU in this frame is fast, so the transitions look great, and it plays video with sound.

CONS:
The Achilles Heel of this frame is animated GIFs. While the format is supported, and it does try to play them, they crash your frame, so be sure to filter these out before trying to play a slide show.

The battery in the remote will likely be dead on arrival, so while the remote is actually quite cool, be prepared to spend a few extra dollars on a CR2025 battery (you may want to order one when you buy the frame) if you want to use it. Considering the frame's control panel is in the back, facing straight up, you'll want to use the remote.
Manufacturers Should Produce More Colored Frames
January 28, 2016
This is easy to install photos using a computer and a USB drive. I purchased an 32 GB SanDisk Cruzer Fit CZ33 and it should hold a lot of photos and videos. It can be set up just to show photos, or videos, or both. It can be used horizontally or vertically but you may have to orient your photos on your computer before installing on the photo frame. The time that a photo is displayed is also variable.
The plate on the back can be removed to reveal holes for wall mount.
The one drawback is that the frame doesn't come in different colors.
Loving my photo frame
July 13, 2014
I read through a lot of reviews before purchasing the NIX photo frame. There are many review sites that have it consistently in the top 5. Having purchased it, I can see why. The pictures are crystal clear. It was very simple to setup. I am loving the motion sensor - it quickly turns back on and continues the slide show. This one also came with a 4 GB USB, which got me up and running quickly.

Specifically, I purchased this to display the food from our most recent vacation - stunning!

There are two cons that prevent me from giving it a 5-star rating. The first is that when you use the photo shuffle, you either can select a single transition style, use shuffle mode (between all styles), or have no transition between photographs. I dislike a few of the transitions and would have liked to have been able to select which styles to shuffle between. Instead, I am using no transition.

The second is that I would have liked to have it switch between photos and videos seamlessly. Instead, it plays either videos or photos. Given that it has a remote, this isn't difficult, but it does require a conscious decision to switch.

I'd also like to note that several reviewers on Amazon claimed that if you give it a 5-star rating you can be entered to win a second photo frame. This is incorrect. NIX states that if you leave any review (positive or negative), you can be entered to win a photo frame. Of course, who would want to win a second one if you didn't like the first?

Recap of the PROS for this unit: crystal clear images, easy setup, motion sensor works perfectly, can be mounted on the wall or setup on a table, and comes with a remote.

SD card works like it is suppose to!
July 10, 2016
Works like an SD card usually works. Price was what attracted me. You can never have too many sd cards. With all devices people have today like: smart phones, cameras, I pads and tablets, GoPro and many others devices like laptops....I'd recommend buying back up sd cards just like this one. It works great!
I would use a different brand if you are going ...
February 25, 2016
I would use a different brand if you are going to use this with any samsung phone. Samsungs and sandisk have a known issue that can't be fixed and Sandisk knows this. On the forums, there is no workaround other than replacing it with a different brand.Samsungs randomly unmount the card and flaim there's no memory card in its slot, yet you can clearly see the contents when you insert it into a pc or mac
It a trooper.

Works like it should. I just left a negative review for SanDisks 64gb microSD but this one worked flawlessly from the time it was unpacked and it is still going strong. I don't have any of the Techie Stats that the pro users like to give..suffice it to say it works, No hassles and is what I expect from SanDisk
Gets the job done with as little space consumption as possible!
February 6, 2015
I have a phone with terrible storage. 1gb of ram is what I am given to store pictures, movies, apps, and documents. To keep a long story short, I had about 10 apps on my phone, 200 pictures, and several downloaded documents on my phone. The storage was so bad that I couldn't receive text messages without deleting pictures of my favorite memories- that is, until yesterday when this techno gem came in the mail! My sd card came nicely sealed and packaged and arrive on time. I put it into my phone, moved the apps, pictures, and docs to my sd card and voila- I can text and call people without my phone threatening me to delete a few of my favorite pictures. I have since downloaded about 2 movies and I have a solid 5.5gb of storage left. The only con I have is that the card came with 7.3gb instead of 8 which is a bummer, but considering the price of this card- 7 gb is a STEAL!
Okay
April 7, 2014
The card I ordered was the 32GB card from seller McTechy. The shipment had a tracking code that didn't work, but I received my package on time. The card works thus far perfectly fine and appears to be a genuine SanDisk memory card, which arrived in a package slip instead of any form of retail packaging. Popping it into my phone, it worked right away and I use it for my music, I've had no issues as of yet with it. My only complaint is that it is a 32 GB card, right? Well, my phone as well as Windows read it to be a 29.89GB card. A 2GB difference from the written value, though to me this isn't a huge issue, I've yet to need more than 30GB of my music so I think I'm fine. Still, buyers take note that (and I know storebought cards can vary by a GB or more sometimes) SD Cards aren't always the value that they are labeled as.

Really good and small form factor USB drive
June 24, 2017
I purchased this drive for a family member to plug into a USB Hub connected to their smart TV ... .I have to say that not only does it work well out of the box ... the speeds (using the "eye test") SEEM faster than the other drive they have when i put stuff on the drive and move it around. The other drive I refer to is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007KFAG8Y/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_3 ... for some reason that one seems laggy when moving data to or from it ... this one from the short time I messed with it seems more like any other USB drive I have had ... aka no lag
A good amount of storage for a good price... just don't lose it!
November 27, 2016
I just uploaded around 24 gb of files onto it. It does lag a bit when uploading a gb worth of files onto it. There is a waiting time! But when uploading files mbs at a time - maybe word documents and smaller media files there's hardly any downtime. But when uploading any videos, files with lots of high res images, or large presentations expect to wait ...maybe make a some hot chocolate or a cup of tea!One feature I like is how you can password protect your files. So when the Cruzer Fit gets lost no one can access the files on it unless they know the password. But why would the Cruzer Fit get lost? well... One thing I didn't realize was how tiny this thing is! It's like a thumb nail! It's a thumbnail drive! There is a tiny metal ring attached to the Cruzer Fit that you can loop sewing thread into. But anything thicker like a metal keyring won't fit. I doubt a smartphone charm would fit but I haven't tried it. I did try to make a keyring using sewing thread but when I pulled on it the thread broke off - I think the tiny metal ring on the Cruzer Fit cut the thread when I pulled it :-/Also, the plastic cover doesn't feel like it will stay on if it gets bumped around by some keys so it may not be a good idea to attach it to a set of keys.Despite the tiny size of the Cruzer Fit, I like how it has a lot of storage for the price. Just don't lose it! I give the SanDisk Cruzer Fit 4 stars out of 5.1 star was taken off due to the lag of uploading a gb worth of files onto the Cruzer Fit. I made and drank hot chocolate during this wait time!
A few issues. Nice choice for users wanting a low profile.
October 3, 2014
A few small quibbles. The metal ring on the drive is tiny and looks rather flimsy so if attaching it to say a lanyard I would worry it would break off and be lost. The drive itself is tiny so it or the cover could be easily lost. I plan to attach a lightweight cell phone charm to it to help me locate this tiny drive. The low profile and size also make it a bit difficult to get the cover off at first until I got used to it. One last thing, I am not sure if this is because of the drive or not. I took some pictures on the drive to a local photo printer. For some reason their equipment could not read the drive. I don't know if this is because of the drive or their equipment/readers. The pros is it's small and lightweight and the low profile makes it a great choice for tablet users and if it lives up to SanDisk quality it should perform well for a long time.
Good solid device!
April 27, 2014
This does almost everything you'd want in a flash drive. It runs without a driver, without installing crapware, and as far as I can tell there are no hidden partitions or read-only areas housing proprietary crap. The security software is in the root of the device and deletes easily with the first use. The light is bright enough to be visible without being distracting. The profile when plugged in leaves just enough room to get a hold on it to remove without sticking out too much. It's nice to see something that just works and is friendly to the user rather than OEM partners who want to rent your eyeballs. My only complaint is the lanyard hook. it looks flimsy, and more importantly the hole works for a nylon lanyard, and not even all of those. It's a VERY small hole. If you want a keyring, you're out of luck. For a device that small, a dependable keyring option is very, very important. Add that, and this device would get five stars and be absolutely perfect.
Cost effective but risky by nature.

This handy little flash drive has a lot of memory for its size. It is small and inexpensive but has a few quirks both expected and unforeseen.Be sure to purchase this product with a string of some type, that you can thread through its loop (at the end). The string may have trouble fitting through because the loop is very small and it has an odd angle against the body of the drive. The drive is difficult to remove without a string to do so by however; this drive is probably best left in a U.S.B. port of your computer. The product's size is wonderful because you may leave it in your computer without worrying whether it might be damaged from something hitting it, while it is plugged in. The size is also of course, a problem unless you are very organized and careful with your things (be careful not to lose this drive).Courtesy of San-Disk, this drive comes loaded with password protection and encryption software. The password uses a high order of character encryption and the software functions well on windows. If you are using a Mac, you will have to download the software, to gain access thereto. The things which are loaded on the drive may tell you how to do that. The drive cap fits the housing (body) well but can not be attached to the other end of the body. Because this drive is most practically left in your computer, the cap is likely to be lost. I have found no easy or convenient remedy to that problem, so you simply must live with the issue. The drive of course holds the full 32 gigabyte memory capacity as a maximum. To store things on this drive, you do not have to use (or even keep) the software that it came with and do not need to create a password to protect the stored items, I have not clocked the read and write speed but it is not very fast. This is most likely because of the design compromises required to fit 32 gigabytes of memory into a flash drive that is less than an inch long. The read and write speed is even slower if you use the encryption software that the drive came with. This drive is ideal for backing up moderate quantities of data but not for quick transfer of data form one computer to another,
Good for "low profile" use

Note that these USB drives are designed for notebooks, tablets, and car audio. They are supposed to be plugged in and seldom pulled out, or pulled out fairly rarely. They are harder to insert and pull out than the bigger size USB drives, so it may not be good for daily use of carrying it around. The couple of times I pulled it out, it fell to the ground and was a bit hard to find, because it is so small and difficult to get a hold of. If you need to insert and pull it from the USB slot often, a fishing string can be added to the side of the USB drive (there is a small hole to insert the string and tie a knot). There is a small orange indicator light and I kind of like it. When it is writing or reading, the light will blink attractively.A simple speed test of copying and reading a 1GB file was done on Windows 7:Write: 4.10 MB/sRead: 16.5 MB/s

Pretty but Tech Needs Work
August 23, 2017
I bought this frame for my girlfriend. She loves the quality and look of the frame and how it displays her pictures. However she hates that the time interval between photos jumps from 1 minute to 1 hour. She wanted it for her desk at work and would have preferred more intervals to choose from, such as 15 minutes or 30 minutes. She says the frame freezes sometimes when she tries to skip through photos. Also she said the frame confuses some vertical and horizontal photos. All in all she loves how her pictures look on the display but the technology within the frame needs work.
A little disappointed, technical issues
July 19, 2017
I had issues initially but customer service was great guiding me to a solution. The frame would freeze after a while. So I downloaded the recommended program to make the adjust the resolutions and file names. That did not work, but buying a new USB stick after that worked. So i'm not sure if it was just the USB, or also the resolutions that caused the problem. It works great now.

I was disappointed that the frame would not just take any file and display the picture so it would take up most of the screen. It seems like a lot of work to have to change resolutions and file names. For many pictures, there is black space next to it. For this reason, I would recommend considering a larger frame since some pictures will be smaller. Depends on your settings... you can fill the frame but some of the pic might be cut off. I was also disappointed that they couldnt include a $5 USB for the purchase price.
Not bad.
March 27, 2017
This is my first ever digital picture frame, buying it for its size.
It was very easy to set up, and mount on the wall.
Three things I don't like about this product are:
1. Most photos are not displayed full size unless that option is selected, but when doing so all subjects look compressed.
2. In calendar mode there is no setting for size of photo displayed, rather it's a standard (about) 5x7". I'd prefer to see more photo and less calendar.
3. Even if loaded correctly some photos are displayed upside down. You must remove the SD card or thumb drive, select the inverted photo, rotate and save it. I've had to do this with many photos.
As I said, this is my first one, so maybe this is the industry standard. For the price and high photo resolution especially when shown full size (uncompressed), I am satisfied with my purchase.
Can't be Mounted on the Wall - be forewarned.
March 9, 2017
1. Just received and this is not what I wanted (what I wanted was a digital photo frame that I could hang on the wall ... now that I look at the photos on the website I see that the frame has an extension on bottom that prevents this and correspondingly does not have openings on the back for wall-screws). I just wish the posting would have stated specifically that this is a digital photo frame that sits on a surface only. I can install a small shelf on the wall upon which I can sit the frame ... but that's not the look I wanted. 2. OK ... has a long cord on wall plug (a plus).
Great picture, everything work fine except
September 5, 2016
Great picture, everything work fine except. When you program picture groups (files) by date or name, this player will run through one group then stop. The only way I could make it run all my groups was in random mode. It work out OK for me, but for some people random mode might not what let need. I call Tech Support but their support didn't help my situation. I may call again but I,m not sure they can help.

Short Lifespan, Works Well.

Worked for 1 and a half year before becoming completely unreadable/unrecognizable in any device, I have tried everything to revive it, for that one year it worked rather reliably, although it wrote many many gigabytes per day, it was heavily used in an Dashboard Camera that was constantly running.
Comes with bloatware
March 3, 2017
Works great, however it does come with bloatware, which I did not like. I didn't notice right away, excited to pop it into my tablet and use it. Later on I saw I had apps pop up from it. Make sure to clear the junk before you use it.Overall it functions fine, no other issues.
generic but will do
April 26, 2016
I bought this for my galaxy note4 and sometimes the pictures don't save to it. not too big of a deal but when you look for pictures all you see is black. be aware if you really need files or pictures because they might not save or can corrupt easily.
Sometimes unreliable, but customer service is awesome.
January 30, 2013
I've purchased several of these microsd cards to use in a couple mp3 players (all Sandisk products). I used this recent purchase for about a week when it suddenly went completely haywire and I lost all 20gb of audiobooks I had stored on the card... arrrgh. My story has a semi-happy ending, though. The people at Sandisk have awesome customer service -- a 20 minute chat session with one of their customer service reps had a replacement card being mailed to me at no charge. Yes, I still lost my audiobooks, and I was stupid enough to have deleted them off the computer, so have no backup of any of them. However, I am still mostly satisfied with my experience... and now know that, while this is an excellent memory expansion solution, I need to hang on to my backups until I've listened to them.
DOA
September 24, 2012
DOA. Not much else to say, although the story is somewhat amusing. After bothering the same technical support representative at Samsung three different times, I was starting to think that my Galaxy Player 4.2 was defective. None of my MP3's would play properly, and on the off chance they would, as soon as I added more songs to the card, it would dysfunction. This would also affect media files on the device itself. Shame on me for not thinking of it sooner. Removed the SD card entirely, popped the 2Gb card from my cell phone in, and joy.No packaging on it, although I guess that's why the description says, "bulk." Pretty disappointed that I dropped $17 down the drain, but sometimes you bite the bullet. The technology that goes into these cards is pretty solid, but you can't win every time when things come off an assembly line.
Not really what it says it is
June 28, 2012
I checked this out and it says it has 29.71 total storage on it. Does look like it has a serial # on it but can't read that small. Not sure why someone would bother to fake a 29 GB as a 32GB but it works all the same for my tablet and for the price I can't complain. That saying all I do is audio books, very simple games and a bit of music. I am as far from a techie as you can get so I have NO idea about speeds and such but I do know you have to make sure that the device can handle such a big card. I wanted to use it for my camera (for photos) but it can't handle such a large card.

Too small
September 9, 2017
Smaller isn't always better. At first I got sold on how tiny it is however its small size makes it hard to remove from USB connections on a laptop. It has a tiny bit of plastic sticking out and unless you have a 5 year olds fingers it's very hard to hold it and pull it out. Definitely learned my lesson and would go for a regular size stick next time. I foresee I'm going to lose it pretty soon anyway.
SanDisk product improvment
March 1, 2017
Burned out actually not literally but after it ceases to function it was hot. Not fit for car USB music storage but it'll give you a few years of it working. When you start your car it indexes your music to your library and benchmarking this it seems to strain your on/off storage. Always back up your music on another device. I just purchased the new model of the same product and hoped it lasts even longer. The low profile size is perfect and fast transfers nonetheless.

September 22, 2016
The good:-Good way to add extra storage in a tablet since its so tiny and unobtrusive. Im using it right now just as a storage device for whenever i need it and have it attached to my keys. The bad:-The hole that is in the usb part is too small to attach to keyrings so i have to improvise. My worry right now is that one day i look at my keys and its gone.-The cap doesnt attach securely. I lost the cap on day 1 after i attached to my keys. Never seen again.
Great size, horribly slow!
July 12, 2016
Good usb! I liked the size because I can leave it attached to my pc without causing any trouble due to space! The major flaw is that is EXTREMELY SLOW! Painfully slow to transfer anything other than one MS word/excel file or any other tiny sized file!I had to change to usb 3 in a matter of days because of it! So it ended up being useless! But if you don't need speed only a good small usb, this is perfect! :)
This device is absolutely great for 'permanent' low profile use
February 8, 2016
This device is absolutely great for 'permanent' low profile use.But for portable use, it's and absolute pain to take out!!!!It has a clip on the end for attaching a strap or something to aid inremoving, but it's not included with the package. Now I have to try tofind something that will fit the clip in order to help in removing it.Right now I have to use a pliers - not good!I would have given it 5 stars if the package also included that strap, and I can't understand why they didn't?
Good flash drive, but terrible for taking out of devices like digital picture frames.
June 25, 2015
I love the fact that this is mini and 16GB. What I don't like about it is the little groove on the head that sticks out when have it plugged into something. The reason I say this is because the groove makes it difficult to hold onto when you try to pull it out. Because the head is so small, the plastic is so slippery, and the groove takes up all the space on one side of the head, I had to resort to using my fingernails and keys and pulling not on the sides of the head (like you would try to do) but to pull on the skinny ends PAST the head just so that you can get any sort of pull on the darn thing. Before I go any further, I want to say that for normal computers with looser USB ports this flash drive may not be a problem. However, I purchased this for the Micca M707z 7-Inch 800x480 picture frame and that was an absolute NIGHTMARE to take out (which unfortuantely I had to do a few times because this was the only flash drive I had with me at the time and I had to crop and adjust many photos and try them out multiple times which meant unplugging the flash drive many times).TLDR: This may be a good flashdrive for normal computers, but don't use this on devices that barely have any room around the USB ports. AND DON'T BUY THIS FOR THE Micca M707z 7-Inch 800x480 Digital Picture Frame.

3 months in use and already having issues.
March 12, 2017
The frame itself is beautiful and easy to use thus the reason for giving it 2 stars. 3 months after set up and the remote control quit working. I used the remote maybe 10 times since I purchased. At this price I expect better quality. There are controls on back of the frame but its rather inconvenient as I have to take off of the wall to control. The motion sensor was one feature that I really enjoyed but now it will stop working randomly until I turn it back on manually which means taking it off the wall now that the remote is no longer working. Disappointed because I really loved it when I first got it. Has a nice display.

February 20, 2017
The image on this device is not particularly sharp, nor are the colors especially realistic. I expected more from a device that is optimized to do nothing but display photographs. My desktop computer and laptop both display the same exact image files much more clearly and vibrantly.

The remote control stopped working almost immediately, most likely due to a dead battery. I do not see why I should have to rush around to buy a replacement battery for a product that I just bought. I'd rather just return the whole thing.

The original cardboard box in which the product was packed was split, even though it was contained inside a second, larger cardboard box for shipping.
Good for 5 months
January 7, 2017
I received the frame in July and I just returned from backpacking Europe, so i filled my USB with pictures to proudly display. For the first 5 months it worked perfectly and I was very pleased with the motion detection that is used to know when to play the pictures. About a month ago it suddenly will not turn on and so it no longer works. It's shelf life was only 5 months and so it doesn't seem to be worth the money spent.
OK for pictures, horrible for video

Biggest piece of crap ever...for playing videos. Choppy, skips and freezes! I went to the vendor website for video specifications, which ultimately did not help at all. Do not buy!

December 20, 2015
Unit arrived yesterday and today I prepared it for presentation as a Christmas present. I have 292 .jpg photos in an album, and loaded a new SDHC 32gb card (FAT32 format). Upon inserting the card into the SD slot, I was presented with a screen that stated that acknowledged the pics on the SD card, but that followed with a message that states that the unit is unable to read the SD card. I will work it a bit and follow up here.
I just tried to use an USB thumb drive with my photos (also formatted FAT32), and the same error occurred. I conclude that I got a defective unit, and will return it to Amazon.

Doesn't work with the Roku 3
August 30, 2017
Bought this card for my Roku 3. Just arrived 30 minutes ago and I popped it in right away. After installing it I reconnected my HDMI cable and then my power cable. The Roku 3 booted up but never saw the SD card installed. I tried taking it out and using compressed air to clear the port before inserting it again. Still nothing. Considering this was purchased for the sole purpose of being used with my Roku 3, it stinks.
Stopped working after a couple of months
December 7, 2016
I bought this microsd card because I was expanding my storage on my Galaxy S5. However, after I put a lot of music files on it, it stopped working. I'm not sure how but for some reason, things could get moved onto the card but taking things off was not allowed. And recently I was able to save my files off of it but I now I can't put things back on. I tried to reformat it but it still won't work. Definitely be aware that this microsd card does not have a long life for your files.
not great
August 18, 2016
For me, this did not work hardly at all. I don't know if it was just my phone/a mismatch in equipment, but it would work for a day or two, then anything stored on it would become unavailable on my phone, and I would need to power off, take the phone battery out, remove and reinsert this memory card, and then wait for my phone to reload everything. I purchased a samsung memory card, and have not had to touch it since. Use caution when buying this. I had higher hopes for a SanDisk Product
Standard packaging = plastic zip lock baggie. DIED AFTER 3 WEEKS.
March 25, 2014
Ordered an 8GB card with standard packaging to make sure I got a retail (genuine) card. Received card in a zip lock baggie instead. If that's standard packaging, then I wonder if frustration-free packaging is a zip lock baggie that's not been zipped closed?!The card passed a single-pass test with Check Flash, so I'm going to put it to use. Hopefully it'll last longer than the 3 months other reviewers have gotten out of theirs.UPDATE: Did not last longer than 3 months. In fact, lasted 3 weeks. Now unable to use card. It reports as being 31MB in Windows, and I'm unable to access in any way (read, write, format). This card has been used for about 20-30 hours total, in 5-6 hour segments.I doubt this was indeed a genuine Sandisk card. Should have given it 1 star.
Not as pictured on Amazon - Badly packaged
December 6, 2012
This was very badly packaged. The case which was holding the SD card arrived damaged. Fortunately, the card itself seems to still work good after test. It also appear to not be a fake, and a real SDHC card (tested with "h2testw_1.4" without error). Also, photos of the listing shows retail packaging, when what I received was just the card inside a plastic case, in a plastic bag. There was also a white "R" painted at the back of the card (may be R for refurbished ?). This didn't looked new at all in my opinion.
Started fine, NOW the problems start.
May 16, 2011
I received the card very quickly, and I was instantly satisfied! Great deal for a great product. But here we are a month later, and the problems start.Just tried to load a new app on the SD card, and it said that my SD was out of space, and to clear some space and then try again. It's only been a month. I know I haven't put THAT much stuff on here yet. Went to manage my SD card, and it showed I had 18gb of space. Ok, that's odd. Tried unmounting it and remounting it. Even just pulling the card out and trying again. Nothing. Still won't allow me to install new apps of move existing apps to the SD card. I would rule out the phone, as it happened right at 14gb of data, and it obviously still let me put 14 gb of data on there. I'll test it with my computer when I get home, but with all these bad reviews on here, it better end up working (or I better get one that works), or Amazon will catch hell from me.

These work fine for a while. I've bought a few in different sizes. Unfortunately I've had a 16gb and an 8gb both fail. Not going to buy these anymore. They aren't terribly expensive, but having two fail makes me think that my others will eventually fail too.

Also keep wondering, how long can a Drive get so hot before it Fails and Fries itself??????
Too small (physically) to be useful for most applications
July 29, 2015
At some point small becomes too small. I bought 5 of these for my office and regret it. I assumed that they are the size of the little plug that comes with wireless mouse/keyboard combos, which would have been fine, but no. They are even smaller and are difficult to pull out of the computer as there is almost nothing to grab onto unless you have long nails (I'm a guy so no). Also the 'eye' is far too small to be useful, at least on the ones I ordered. Dental floss will barely go through, even the smallest paper clip will not. So it will be a challenge to put them on any kind of lanyard, even if they did come with one (they don't). I would not recommend these unless you are going to plug them into your computer and leave them there forever.I am going back to the Kingston Data Travelers. It does not get in the way of anything, is sturdy as hell, and won't get lost. You can put it on your keyring and forget about it- you'll never lose it.
Get the updated (USB 3.0) version instead.
May 26, 2015
While this drive functioned reliably, I can no longer recommend it due to its awful build quality. Specifically, see the tiny black piece at the end of the part that plugs in? Well, if you have snug USB ports (as my work Lenovo does, apparently), that little black piece has a tendency to come off when you try to remove the drive, leaving the metal piece wedged... and I mean WEDGED inside the USB port. Fortunately, there's the tiniest of metal pieces left outside, which allows you to pull this sucker out with pliers. In my opinion - having used this drive and the 3.0 variant that replaced it, for JUST A DOLLAR MORE (as I write this), you can get the USB 3.0 version of this drive, right here on Amazon.(Link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LLER2CS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )Apparently, SanDisk learned from the build quality issues present in this USB 2.0 model and vastly improved the construction of the USB 3.0 model; I haven't had an issue with the 3.0 model yet.
Dishonest Firmware -- Claims Device is not "Removable"
January 20, 2014
After much frustration, I have determined that the Removable Media Bit (RMB) is not set in the device firmware. That means when you plug the drive in to a Windows machine, it shows up under "Fixed/Local Hard Disk Drives," instead of "Devices With Removable Media." This also means that you can't write a bootable ISO to the device. It also means that even short of creating a bootable drive, many other utilities which are designed to run portable from a flash drive do not work as intended.According to SanDisk, this is a new "feature" they began implementing in 2013 to meet Microsoft's Windows 8 Certification Requirements. Microsoft is apparently now requiring flash drives to lie and represent themselves as "Fixed/Local" instead of "Removable," in order for the drive to be Windows 8 Certified.Microsoft's interest in this deception is fairly obvious. And rather than stand up for the integrity of its products, SanDisk caved and now ships a device whose very purpose is that it is removable and portable, yet when queried by an operating system lies and says that it is not removable.
Too Small, Too Easily Lost! Waste of $$
December 17, 2013
Ok... "smaller is better" has its limits SanDisk! This item is about the size of the fingernail on my middle finger. There is almost nothing left to grab ahold of when you insert it into a USB drive. The too-small size of this USB flash drive makes it inconvenient and easily lost. But the worse part is, that there is no way to hook it to a tether or lanyard or even a piece of string in order to prevent it from being lost. The tiny little loop you see in the upper end in the product photo... I could not get a sewing needle under it to lift it up or guide a piece of string through it, let alone anything else into that loop to secure it to a keychain, lanyard, etc. This is really an expensive novelty item... not for data of any value! I have not used it since I bought it, and could not possibly recommend it to anyone else.

Screen cracked when removing giant sticker.
August 9, 2016
Unit arrived with giant sticker attached to screen. But removing the sticker left behind the sticky backing paper, which required tedious removal using thumbnail so as to not scratch screen. After working for 15 minutes and having only removed 50% of sticker, the photo frame screen cracked due to pressure required to remove this sticker, which was obviously very old. Worst part is this was to be gift for my daughter who is moving away tomorrow, so no time to order a replacement frame! VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE ALL OVER A STUPID STICKER!

EDIT: Amazon waved the return window and I swapped it out for another one. It's been a month and so far so good!

Be VERY careful ordering this kind of card, especially when described as bulk packaging. As soon as you receive the card fill it at least above the 8gb point and preferably close to 32gb just to make sure it is not a counterfeit device. Ours were counterfeited and designed to read that there was 32gb capacity but they would not hold more than 8g! Beware! Virtually impossible to detect the difference by observing the packaging. Must actually load it with content.
Nothing against SanDisk, but this one didn't work
December 19, 2013
Ya, after about 2 months, this card was unreadable with all of my devices. I did some research and discovered that this problem was common among this particular type/brand of microSD card. 95% of the time it doesn't even show up, and when it does it only does so for about 20 minutes, then it becomes unreadable or says that it is corrupt. Most of the music that I had on this card (the stuff I didn't have on my laptop as well) are lost now. And now my MP3 player is only usable when I have access to WiFi until I can get some money to get another.
died quick
May 1, 2013
I purchased one of these cards and thinking it was a normal SanDisk card didn't bother to try it out after it arrived. About 2 weeks later I put it in my Galaxy Tab and it couldn't read it. No big deal so I went to reformatt it. I tired to reformat the card 10+ times and nothing happened So I pulled out the card and when I did I burned my fingers on the card. I tried to reformat another SanDisk card that I had previously purchased not from Amazon with no problems. I have had over 25+ micro SD cards from SanDisk and this was my first one purchased through Amazon. Later after I read the reviews I found out and by comparing them to my other micro SD cards that these are imatations and not made my SanDisk.
Worked well for 2 months, then crashed -- sandisk unreasonable
January 31, 2012
I bought this card for my android smartphone. It installed great and worked just fine for about two months. All of a sudden, the phone could not read the card.Thinking this may be a fluke, I tried to reformat it (through the phone) and it would not format.Thinking maybe there was an issue with my phone, I then tried then to format the card via two different PC's, using two different readers. The disk was visible, but would still not format. I tried both conventional and disk manager methods... No luck.I contacted customer support and walked them through each method. This is where it gets good.... they told me that my card reader was broken or incompatible -- AND -- my phone was broken or incompatible -- AND -- my pc's were broken or incompatible ?????? (With these Odds I should start buying lotto tickets !! BTW all of this equipment is less than 6 months old and quite advanced)Then I tried all of the above with an equivalent Toshiba 32gb card and it worked just fine....I explained this to the agent..... I even sent screen shots .....did i get an RMA to exchange ???Nope ... just another recommendation to use a different card reader ..... arghhhhh!
Received Fake (or defective) item
August 16, 2011
Originally thought to be defective, the item I received was clearly a fake.Packaging appeared to be SanDisk, but actual memory card did not have SanDisk Logo showed in photoItem description and packaging shows 32gb microsdhc card. Actual testing by third party tools shows this card has a 2gb chip inside, wired to show 32gb.Testing results below. Defective Sandisk SD Card
May 25, 2011
I spent practically an entire day trying to transfer simple music and photo files from my computer to my cell phone. Each attempt resulted in some files not being transferred, and when they were transferred, the files were empty. The frustrating thing was that on each attempt, and there were at least a dozen, different files would not be transferred and different files would be empty. There was no consistency in the errors! As a test, I then transferred the same files to my internal phone storage and they transferred perfectly. I am a retired a computer software engineer and was completely frustrated with this project that should have been a simple operation. The SD card was a class 4 and it should have worked flawlessly in my cell phone.

Worst Thumb-Drive Design Ever
October 29, 2017
Worst thumb drive design ever. It's so tiny and perversely shaped that it's almost impossible to get it out of your USB slot, once you manage to hold the tiny little insect of a thing with enough dexterity between your thumb and forefinger to get it into the slot. Cut my finger trying to use a needle-nose pliers to get it out of there. In addition, it's so tiny that it's hard to imagine anyone keeping it over two months without losing it. Absolutely an awful product.
Drive Size NOT Consistent
September 20, 2017
Installed FreeNAS on the first one. Bought a second one to mirror the first one, but the thumb drive is too small. I guess it's a luck of the draw but I still find it very annoying, especially because it's technically not DoA, so I can't return it.
Crashes my computers
August 18, 2016
The main reason I bought this is to have a small USB to keep on my key ring. On the first day, the metal loop that attaches to the key ring broke. That's when it all went wrong. After that point, I went ahead and inserted it in my computer for the first time. When trying to open the drive, it completely froze my computer and then crashed it until I took out the drive. I tried it in multiple other computers, same result. I'm a pretty tech savvy guy, but no matter what I do I can't get it to open. Windows won't let me reformat it. I try to open up my partitions and change it from there, but then it cashes that program too. Very upset with this thumbdrive.
No way to attach lanyard or keyring on the cruzer fit.
December 9, 2015
Unlike what someone else said, I purchased several of these drives in various sizes and only received one cap each, not two. Also, after trying several brand lanyards and key rings, the only thing I have found that fits the tiny metal ring on these drives is button thread (regular thread is too weak) and still it breaks on occasion. Very poor design for something so small, so expensive, and easily lost.Otherwise the drive works as expected.
Why making CZ33-64GB or 32GB? Neither is Useful for Large Files - Extremely Slow and Frustrating !
February 13, 2015
Here is my experience of using this 64GB USB 2.0: I tried to backup 80 video files (total about 50GB), it would take more than 25 hours! And sadly, the encrypting process was interrupted by Windows automatic update in the midnight, so I had to start over again (with Windows auto-update OFF).It should also be noted that, if you transfer multiple files together, you won't see any files until the entire encrypting process completed for all files. At the time I'm writing this review (@10:45am, after restarting the process for 5 hrs), the screen shows only 3% completed with estimated time to complete: 20 hrs - let's keep fingers crossed to wait and see the final transfer results tomorrow!
Where to begin
April 8, 2014
I first bought thing thinking "Hey, $20 for 32GB is a deal" and then I started using it regularly for school work. Here's where the problems began: 1) Yes, its small and you'll lose the cap in minutes. 2) The transfer rates on this drive (yes, i know its usb 2.0) are extremely slow. It's slower than my other USB 2.0 drives from years ago. 3) The metal string attachment loop broke off in days just by having it in my pocket at work/school. It's very flimsy.Overall, this is a piece of garbage. Yes, its inexpensive for the size, but not worth the trouble. I'm very surprised by SanDisk. Normally, they push out very high quality stuff, but this one is not.
