Five Star Reviews: | 53% Always reliable May 13, 2017 It's not an Iwata, but works almost as good. I've bought and used several Iwata's and Badgers. Master airbrush has never let me down. Just as good as an airbrush costing 3x what you can get these for. Better than the G-22 - worth the upgrade May 2, 2017 I ordered this airbrush to replace the airbrush that came with the starter kit I purchased on Amazon. There has been an amazing difference between using a .3mm nozzle/needle pair versus the .2mm nozzle/needle pair from the other brush. I use acrylics, and this airbrush handles them much better than it's predecessor. Also a welcome feature is the trigger stop on the end of the brush - it makes doing fine detail work much easier because I only have to focus on what I'm painting instead of splitting my attention between painting and trigger depth. Great for beginners February 4, 2017 Easiest airbrush I've ever used! Great for beginners!!! Light weight. Great quality and the price for this one is amazing! Buy it!! I am a beginner and have tried other airbrushed and by far this is my favorite for simplicity. Great for begginers. January 10, 2017 Great airbrush kit for beginners. Would recommend purchasing an additional pressure regulator for use between compressor and airbrush. Be gentle when switching needles and tips as they are easy to break from over tightening. Overall is a good kit for learning how to airbrush. Great brush not just for beginners. June 3, 2016 I am a collector and painter of miniature Wargames. Usually painting 28mm scale models and figurines. I use this airbrush to sometimes basecoat, but it's mostly used for applying the dominant color and highlights before I go in with a detail brush. I own three master airbrushes and this purchase is the best of the three.ValueThe selection of needles is an $8 per needle value, and the quick release valve is another $8 deal. So for the accessories alone, this is something to consider given the extra body is always a good idea.QualityThe gun itself is the best bang bang for the buck. After cleaning, use gun oil on the lever-hinges and the back part of the needle. You will end up with an dual action trigger that feels like it machined rather than casted. I suggest Hoppe's No. 9 Gun Bore Cleaner for its' cleaning/lubricating properties. What put this brush above its' cheaper cousins is that the needle is well protected. The G-22 comes with the air compressor $75 bundle and it looks very similar but the cap on the end has a bit less depth which allows you to bend the needle when holding your finger to it. (after mixing paint with a little brush, I hold the end and press the trigger to mix the bit of paint the brush doesn't get.) The G233's needle cap is deep and I have get to damage a needle. (Needles get bent all the time which causes paint the catch. If you cleaning the needle a lot then it needs to be straightened)TipsYou do need to clean it well after each use, but make sure water isn't the last step. Airbrush cleaner or whatever else people recommend, but not water to prevent oxidizing cheaper components.Mentally plan for not mixing up needle sizes. Switching out the needles and tips can cause confusion. So label and separate accordingly.Don't use the wrench tighten the tips. Brass is extremely weak.Last TipThis gun is built and priced to not detonate your wallet. Parts and accessories are priced cheap as well and are even cheaper when you see that other brands make compatible parts. Four Star Reviews: | 17% I was surprised at the feel it felt like a quality brush to me June 4, 2017 I was surprised at the feel it felt like a quality brush to me. itvworks just fine for what I want to do with it. Now that being said this is my first airbrush so I really can't say for sure what a better brush would feel like I'm sure a better brush would make things easier but this brush is fine I think for a entry level use I'm happy with it Four Stars March 12, 2017 Given as a gift, so I don't feel as though I can give this a fair review, sorry. but overall good for those that need precise control February 12, 2017 This is my 2nd airbrush, first one being an unbranded one, but as far as I can tell it does the job really well. It has some weight to it which I actually appreciate because it make my hand less jumpy and I have more control. The trigger pull feels longer than it needs to be and the spring offers a bit more resistance than I think is necessary, but overall good for those that need precise control, not so much if you need to paint a larger area. A removable paint cup on this thing and it would have been perfect. Ordering again next time i'm in the US so I have one dedicated for each type of paint I use. Fantastic value December 15, 2016 This is a great product. I am NOT a deeply skilled airbrusher, so who knows what is "missing" in this AB, but my experience has been really positive. I have owned for years a nice Iwata HP-C. It was great for the small scale detail I used it for, but I am starting to have a need for something for larger pieces. Started researching options, including the Iwata's with larger needles and tips. Rather than drop another $140 or so on another Iwata, I figured for under $30 I sould at least give this a shot. Worst case I figured it would end up being suitable for at least priming. My surprise has been how effective this has been for general airbrushing l. Building up a 1/24 scale car model, this was fine for priming and painting bot small and large items. Good control of paint and pressure, and I am getitng an excellent mirror finish on Alclad Metals. May swap out to the larger needle that comes with it for the body, but so far the middle one (.3mm I think) has been fine.It breaks down easily for cleaning. I have some concern over the seals. They seem like they might be lost easily, so I just need to be careful. The Iwata in general has MUCH tighter tolerances, so I have no fear of this with that brush. The action of the actuator is also a bit "looser" than the Iwata, but honestly it was more of a "feel" issue than actually impacting performance. I found it easy get used to the slight need to account for the slack before it begins to meter the air or paint. The way the reservoir is set up is also a bit harder to clean. This may be a factor of the larger paint reservoir as the HP-C is quite small. I am not familiar with the larger reservoir Iwata models, so could be the same. It is not impossible, but will require more effort as there is a deeper groove/channel at the bottom of the reservoir where the needle runs. Paint tends to pool up here, and it is not as smooth or easy to get your cleaning brush/Q-Tip down there.Design-wise it is really a copy of the more expensive models. If you have used an Iwata or Paasch it takes almost no tiem to be used to how this one is used, or breaks down for cleaning.Time will tell if it holds up, but it does not seem any more flimsy than my old AB. Except for slightly more slop in the actuator, the overall build is very solid. The needles tend to be soft so the tips are fragile and bend easily. This is the second one I've bought and ... June 8, 2015 These are not badly made airbrushes for the price (that is, cheap). The needles tend to be soft so the tips are fragile and bend easily. This is the second one I've bought and I'm going to work harder at keeping the tip components clean. I believe that's why the last one failed. | 16% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 9% Great gun, nozzles not so much... May 5, 2017 I really like this gun. It works great. However I did exchange the nozzle to the .5 mm size when i first reveived this and have been using that since I first purchased just over a month ago. I went in to change back to .3 mm size, when I removed the cap the .5 mm nozzle broke off, leaving the entire threaded base still in the gun. I was able to somehow screw it out, thankfully. If I hadn't been able to do that it would render the gun relatively useless. If it weren't for this issue, I would give this item 5 stars seeing as it is working nicely with the .3mm nozzle now in place. I wish the .5 mm size hadn't broken as I greatly prefer that one for most of my work. Disappointed this time around March 20, 2017 Disappointed in the product and the way it was sent to me. Probably have to be returned since airbrushes and their pieces are delicate. :( I'm satisfied except the fact that it came with Two 0 December 19, 2016 I'm satisfied except the fact that it came with Two 0.5 millimeter nozzles, yet one 0.5mm and one 0.2 mm extra needles....Am I to assume the needle and nozzle installed with it are 0.3mm?i'm probably going to order another one, and send this one back. Airbrush experience December 9, 2015 This airbrush comes with three different needles, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.5 and a quick connector for the air intake. My problem was the airbrush has an air leak coming back to the paint cup which does not allow for it to work properly. It's sad, because it seems to have very good price/quality ratio. It is an excellent, excellent starter airbrush and will definitely give you ... September 24, 2015 For the price alone, it is seriously worth the consideration. It is an excellent, excellent starter airbrush and will definitely give you the feel for airbrushing. That being said, I give three stars because well...It feels a bit, cheap. It can be a bit unstable over long sessions or between color changes. | 3% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 6% when it comes to airbrush it better to invest a little more money so you wouldn't ... May 30, 2017 It's ok...spend more time cleaning it then using it. The needle keep clocking after cleaning. Spray sometime inconsistent...when it comes to airbrush it better to invest a little more money so you wouldn't have any problems using it. Works good but low quality February 26, 2017 Works very good for a cheap airbrush, but i was switching out the nozzle for the other one it came with and while taking it off the threads tore apart. So my advice dont swith out the needle because the materials this airbrush is made of are low quality. Before it broke it worked well. Good starter brush, crap for the long run October 14, 2015 Good first airbrush to get practice. Don't take it apart or change the needles. You get what you pay for, which is cheap materials. If you over tighten the sprayer piece that the needle fits through, it will break off and leave the threads inside the nozzle. The quick connect is also cheap. Adjustment knob fell off while using it, causing air to rupture through the hose. This was my first airbrush, and after using it four times it is unusable. I might have had a better experience leaving the stock needle in. It's a good airbrush for just starting out and getting used to the foundations of airbrushing. I'm upgrading to an Iwata or a badger now that I have a nice warm and fuzzy with airbrushing. If your serious about illustrating with this medium, then I would suggest upgrading to a higher quality airbrush the minute you are ready and can afford it. The varying nozzles/needles is nice however none of them are machined well so they ... June 14, 2015 Does it work? Kind of. Be prepared to constantly clean between color changes. The varying nozzles/needles is nice however none of them are machined well so they clog within 15 minutes of use. You'll use the other nozzle sets as backups rather than for size. The Mac control quick disconnect make it almost worth buying just to become familiar with airbrushing. At least when u bend a needle it won't matter much but you will replace with a higher quality brush within a month if you're trying to accomplish anything detailed. Parts unavaiable June 24, 2014 Dropped gasket, went to website and found part tried to order to no avail. They claim to have parts but do not for my g23. The cost initially is cheap. I never got the product to work well especially the claim for hairline to whatever line size, hence the taking apart of the unit to see what was wrong and the loss of the gasket. I can not recommend this unit, there does seem to be a quality difference that is apparent from my badger.. If you can not do small lines what good is it? | 4% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 15% Packaging issues ruin a great air brush September 14, 2017 Usually love these air brushes and recommend them to my customers (I run Games Workshop Denver) but this is horrible packaging and the airbrush is broken. No seals on gun July 30, 2017 Received on time. But when I tried to use, it wasn't functioning properly. So broke it down to see if I could find out what the deal was. After closer examination, I saw that the gun had no seals any where.Tried to contact seller with no response after several attempts. Pathetic. May 20, 2016 Awful - barely had it two weeks and it's already broken and won't spray anything out. Cleaned it per exact instructions every time so this is not the issue. Went to file a return today and missed the return date by 1 day. Pathetic. Crude isn't effective. January 5, 2016 For 20$ knew I wasn't getting a iwata quality but I had to try the nozzle and air caps on a neo. It was apparent the past wouldn't swap. I decided to try out not one of the 3 nozzles centered in air cap making split lines. The .5 cap was to small for the nozzle. Tried to bore it out with a torch tip cleaner with no luck keep the 20$ Completely Unusable October 16, 2015 Tried all three needles and nozzles. The .20 setup did not work. Only bubles the paint in the cup and sprayed no paint at all. The .35 setup bubbled the paint in the cup and barely sprayed any at paint. The threads of the .50 nozzle broke off in the airbrush the first time I tried using it making the entire airbrush unusable after that. This entire setup has not been functional even once. I have wasted my money and severely regret the purchase. | 6% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
