Just what I needed
June 27, 2017
Amazing and easy kit. I used 4- 12 volt 9ah batteries made by ExpertPower on amazon. They cost $75 for all 4 and work great with the kit. I can go 10-20miles depending on my speed and terrain. The lcd screen it comes with is good too, and shows milage, speed, and the voltage. Voltage is very helpful to know when battery power gets low

Love this kit. Installed the basic wheel and throttle in about 1 hour. Pedal assist is option (not required in U.S.) so the sensor does not need to be installed. The included brake handles are also optional, but their benefit is that they automatically disconnect the motor when a handle is pulled.I am 6'1" tall and around 200 pounds, On an inexpensive cruiser bicycle and at full throttle, this motor comfortably gets up to about 30mph.For the batteries, ordered 4 of these when they were on sale: http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender-BTL24A360C-Lithium-Phosphate/dp/B00F9LPKJ6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage Placed the four batteries into a $10 plastic toolbox and connected them together using 12ga wire, then to the motor using Anderson Powerpole connectors.Strapped the controller and toolbox on the bike rack over the rear wheel. My battery configuration lasts about 10 miles with lots of throttle and very little pedaling. Will buy again.Having put 500+ miles on the wheel, an update is in order. The wheel has continued to work fine and I try to commute on it once a week. The motor has been working fine without issue. Some things I notice:1) the motor has very little torq from a complete stop. Best to push off and start pedaling to help it get up to speed without burning a lot of battery energy. Once started moving, the motor has plenty of energy to help a sustained pedaling with little drain from the batteries.2) The main power wires are connected to the controller using a small, yellow terminal block. Hiding that block on the bicycle is not easy if you want to be able to quickly remove the wheel. A plug would be much more convenient, but I have not tried one.3) the wiring harness is not adjustable for length. Unless you are capable of installing like connecting ends on the cables, the excess wire must be wrapped up and hidden somewhere. Getting the cables back to the rear wheel and controller from the handlebars can look ugly, but I have found that using a piece of aluminum rod (perhaps Small Parts 14305 Threaded Rod 1/4"-20 - 3', Aluminum 6061 or smaller) you can bend it to the shape of your frame and wrap the cables to it tightly using the cable wrap that comes with the kit. Once the rod and cables are then attached to the bicycle, it looks orderly, like it was designed to be there.4) with batteries installed, the bicycle is too heavy for most trunk mounted racks. Even after removing the batteries from the bicycle, I recommend a trailer hitch and to use a hitch rack. Since the rear wheel makes the bicycle so backheavy, it does not "hang" well on racks with arms. I ended up making my own rack which allows the bicycle rear wheel and front fork to rest on a platform instead of hanging on hooks.5) batteries that I use to run the wheel. I have two Lithium Ion 48v 20ah batteries on my bicycle. I have ridden 20 miles on a single battery when comfortably pedaling along at about 20mph and still have a little charge left when I get home. After most 10-mile trips, it takes about 3 hours to charge a battery.6) I did not install the pedal assist and the unit works fine without a pedal assist cable being plugged into the controller.7) I did not install the disconnecting brake levers since I use hydraulic brakes Shimano SLX M675 Mountain Bike Disc Brake. You just have to be mindful of releasing the throttle when applying the brakes. Newbies may want to install the disconnect brake levers for peace of mind.8) motor has subsequently been re-laced into a 57mm single wall rim and is now running with a Duro 3" tire. the first 26x3 inch tire was a Sunlite Cruiser Flame Tires, 26"x 3.0", Black/Black but I did not check air pressure when I picked the wheel up and about a week later on a particularly hot day, had a blowout in the sidewall. The Duro is kept at about 20 lbs pressure and works fine, especially on wet, grassy field and has been working for a year now without incident. The way I had the wired routed from the wheel to the controller, it would take some tools to place the tire, so a repair could not be done on the road.9) the wiring is not waterproof, but it can be protected a lot with careful placement of connectors. I have not ridden in heavy rain, but it has done well in mist and light sprinkles.10) the tire that comes with the wheel is pretty flimsy. I found that the original rim worked best for commuting with this tire: Schwinn Cruiser Bike Tire with Kevlar (Black, 26 x 2.12-Inch)I think that is everything I have learned using this product. Since then, I have purchased two more of this model from this seller.
Surprisingly capable
May 22, 2016
Installed this on my vintage 1985 stumpjumper sport bike which is already heavy. The batteries are SLA's and they do weigh 40 lbs. Now the bike weighs 81 lbs. total and I weigh 265 lbs. This motor can pull hard. 7 seconds on half throttle is already 25 mph according to a GPS speedometer.
I don't plan to upgrade to a LiPo battery since the heavy lead acid batteries are sufficient. I mounted and glued these batteries on a plastic clipboard to keep them in place. They fit nicely on the supplied bag for a rear bike rack with room to spare. The supplied tires is at its max psi (50 psi) but the rim easily hits the ground even on a slight bump. Suspension is a must for a heavy setup with Lead Acid batteries + the heavy rider otherwise you end up slowly destroying your bike.
Awesome quiet
August 8, 2015
Was a little skeptical about kit but it's great so far have about 50 miles on it longest ride was 6 miles at 3/4 throttle 27 mph the whole way used about half charge top speed is about 32 mph. Put kit on kona full suspension mt bike goes on and off road up steep hills with some peddling it can go 17 mph easily.wired 4 agm motorcycle batteries trs9bs chrome batteries about 6.5lbs a piece so bank is heavy but inexpensive and lots of power about twice the weight of lithium ion but 6th the price and recyclable. Kit hooked right up have an open mind .charge it with 48 v 3 amp charger from battery mart .
Very pleased overall--choose your donor bike wisely.jl
July 27, 2015
Very pleased with kit. Did require some filing on the frame dropouts (where the axel goes mounts to the frame) to get the axel to fully seat. Took me about 4hrs to do the conversion, but I shortened wires and used bullet connectors to make the installation nice and efficient. I weigh 230lbs and the bike can take me 4.1miles to work and back with just under 2.1amp-hours of battery use and nothing gets hot. This includes some short sprints of ~24mph on a flat surface. Was pleased enough to buy a 2nd one. Recommend getting the twist grip throttle rather than thumb throttle as your thumb will get tired if you intend to bike long durations (no throttle lock). Had two complaints. You really need a bike that has a rear disc brake and full suspension. This is difficult to find at Walmart/Academy for donor bikes to find a frame that will fit the rear disc brake. Rear dropouts need to be beefy if you use an aluminum bike frame or you need the torque arms. This thing puts out some serious power and you run the risk of ripping out the axel from the dropouts. Also, the spokes are "squeaky". We carry most of the battery etc on the rear wheel and as such it has a fair amount of weight. Some spokes were not tight and would work or be squeaky.jl

April 13, 2017
ive bought these battery's for my electric tricycle i made with a E-kit. i run 4 in series(48v) x2 parallel (24ah) they lasted for 2 years before they were toast. i road at least 4 times a week sometimes over 8 miles. i just got my second set of 8 and installed them about 2 months ago and there doing fine. i do recommend.the only thing i dont like is both times i had them shipped the contacts covers fell off and some were crushed, i had to bend them back into place
So far so good.

I just installed these batteries in an electric Shoprider chair that my son uses. So far so good.
Replaced my cordless lawnmower batteries with these
December 6, 2014
Bought these after opening up my battery box in my cordless mower that went dead. The manufacturer WORX of this mower not only discontinued selling the battery but when I did find it was triple the original price. I took apart the battery box and found two scooter batteries wired together. I found the info stamped on the batteries and ordered these to replace them with. At first I had a hard time soldering them together but it was all worth it because the mower works better now than new! I'll order replacements again, no problems.
order same set of batteries 2 times- both came fast and correct- excellent batteries
June 8, 2014
Ordered the 1st set a few weeks before for the kids electric cars. These replace the prego electric car batteries just had to remove the blue covering which was easy. found a great you tube video on how to do it as well as how to modify to use in the power wheels electric chevy and the other cars kids have. better than paying $90 for 1 at toys r us. These and the prior set I bought came very fast and in great shape. would order more from this seller if needed. Now I have 2 batteries for each of the 2 types of cars the kids play with. For the power wheels had to pop open battery to remove the hook up and buy a 30 amp fuse and fuse holder and connect with the yellow F connectors and the in line connector, Good luck guys. can contact me if need to know how to do mowerba@yahoo.com
Barbie Power Wheels Jeep Conversion
July 2, 2013
I picked these up to replace the original PW battery in my daughter's Barbie Jeep. They work great and last longer than the original ever did. Look up the conversion on YouTube, it took less than 5 minutes and only a couple bucks in connectors. Great savings over buying the overpriced PowerWheels branded batteries.

Great Kit
October 27, 2016
Translated instructions are almost indecipherable, but the installation is pretty common sense if you can reference pictures.
Contains a handful of parts that may or may not be applicable to your bike, such as a disk brake and European-required pedal assist sensor.
The zip up bag included to house the control hub is a joke, get some panniers to house it and your batteries.
Would love to know if the speedometer can be changed to MPH instead of KPH, but that's certainly not a deal breaker. Also I know there's a backlight in the monitor, but I can't figure out how to turn that on.
Good kit but has some issues
May 21, 2016
Don't buy this kit for the brakes! You need good brakes for 30mph or even for 25mph I am using regular good older type Tektro brakes! I'm running 20AH Lithium Polymer 12s so about 52v I want to try 15s but not sure if controller and screen can take it! The wires are a little skinny and I plan to replace in the future.
The Chinese Instructions are horrible! you need to know what you are doing or you can get hurt on this going 25-30 mph I recommend the rear kit as most front forks cannot take 1.5HP and be careful on aluminum rear dropouts! I am using this on a Cannondale Super V and its is nice so far but a car pulled in front of me and I had to lock up brakes and skid to a stop! Almost fell
I would not put this kit on a non suspension bike! Full suspension and I'm good to go but in a populated area with soso roads I'm gtg with full suspension. Also you will need to get the rim spokes tightened! I will update after more usage so far about 50 miles on it.
The 48v kits need to be put together like the LEEDS 24v kits!!!
September 28, 2015
4 stars. DON'T use the yellow thing is my suggestion. Find another way to connect the blue, green, and yellow jacks together. I blew up a brand new $600 battery, and I think this is why. I had another 48v kit that had regular connectors for the blue, green, and yellow wires and it ran fine (but it sparked because I wasnt using LI-ION packs with power switches).

I would suggest getting basic connectors for the yellow, blue, and green jacks and see what you can do. If you can figure out switches for the power to the battery, I think you have won the war, I still have to read into this stuff and it's sad because I've been riding the LEEDs 24v kit for months now, and I want to use this one which is faster... oh well, we'll see what saving up some $$$ does for my next battery.

Last note: Schwinn road bikes are THE LIGHTEST and best bike to use with these kits. I know this from trying several aluminum frame mountain bikes. You might need to order special brackets for disc brakes, but it's worth it, these road bikes are great, schwinn chains don't rust, and I have used their bikes for decades with no problems. Just a suggestion.
My fried bought recommended 20 amp Vpower battery
August 28, 2015
Took me 4 hours to install. I bought V Power 10 amp 48v battery. Installed on Genesis dual suspension bike. Battery bag is on seat rack with two folding wire rack baskets for cargo. Top speed 32 MPH. 10 amp battery gets me about 15 miles with no peddling. My fried bought recommended 20 amp Vpower battery. He gets about 30 miles range. The larger battery accelerates faster than the 10 amp. My initial controller had a glitch. Contacted seller and replacement arrived today at no charge. Good company to buy from. Service makes a difference when most components are Chinese and available from a variety of sources.. Will recommend to my friends
Fast electric bike.
January 27, 2015
Very good electric motor. I use at 50v 20ah battery for this kit. I enjoy cruising around the park and neighborhood on weekends. I also commute to work using this kit. The fastest you can go on level ground is 32mph with this 1000w motor. It will accelerate to 32mph quickly. When I use it at 32mph, the battery will die in around 30-40mins but I usually cruise at 20mph when going to work anyway. The highest speed recorded was 42mph but that was when I was going downhill. The speedometer and odometer have lag on it. It doesn't start counting the distance immediately but that doesn't matter to me. It has very good torque. The throttle is very sensitive. This bike will get you going fast. I weigh 180lbs when wearing my backpack with my college textbooks, laptop, and water bottles. I'm unsure how the motor will respond if you weigh over 200+lbs. This conversion kit fit right onto my Giant Warp DS2 perfectly. Easy and perfect installation. I gave it a 4/5 instead of 5/5 because of one issue. The only issue i've experienced with this kit is that the motor will randomly shut off while I am riding sometimes and I have to turn it on again. I've checked my battery connections and they are secure so it was must have to do with the motor/controller. This does not happen often(only 1 time this month, 2 times last month). This could be dangerous if you are riding in traffic and the motor cuts off at the wrong place at the wrong time.

October 7, 2015
Works great in our Go Chair by Pride Mobility. Came fast, and not too hard to swap out. Charge does not hold quite as long as I would like, or I would give it 5 stars. My son uses it for only a few hours twice a week, and I am disappointed that the greens disappeared after only three days. I was hoping for a little longer, but still a great deal for a great battery. The only reason it is 4 instead of 5. I would definitely buy again.

YES! Brings my electric scooter back to life!
September 28, 2012
Thanks! Arrived on time and works great for what I needed it for. I really don't know what else to say. I had to do a little work soddering and rewiring my scooter to replace the original batteries, but these are great! They seem to last longer, but that could be me. They don't seem as strong as the original batteries, but this could be because of the size of the terminals. Maybe it's the amp-hour rating. Either way, they work, and that's all I need!

Kit motor is relatively acceptable, but the other components are very cheaply made. the wiring is plain badly done, and the LCD display is very susceptible to water. the motor can have dead spots in it due to a bad winding, and this is why many people have had theirs "stall" the wheel is double walled however, which is a welcome improvement. still, a few improvements that are very key keep this kit from being anything but "meh" at best.

I have purchased these before and these were replacing the old set that was a little over a year old? I had 40 minute runtime on the same load previously. With these they report 10-15 minutes runtime. I have not had to use them yet, but I'm afraid they will not last that long. The old set was fine as far as I knew, but I needed them for a few days to use in my car. They did not like that cycling or the charge voltage... One of them got pretty messed up, but I was being stupid. But I will buy again at this price.

July 3, 2016
I put it all together with a 20 ah Lipo battery. Worked ok for a few days and 2 miles then quit completely.. I can get it to go by holding the arrow button down on the down key on the LCD panel but it only goes slow speed. Most likely the motor controller or maybe the LCD not sure and while I would just pay for the parts, I read the controlllers are not available for this model any more so now this means I have to get a controller and do a bunch of wire splicing and hope it works.... or just buy another kit, NOT!! pretty disappointed in all....was fun while it worked for the two miles.
There is no on off switch so when connecting battery maybe the initial voltage spike frys the electrical components in the controller, is what I suspect. Maybe a diode installed in the load line would help cushion all this or maybe a large capacitor.... not sure pretty bummed out all in all.

June 9, 2016
There are many things wrong with this product. I am unable to tell you if it is even worth it for an expert as I still have not completed the conversion. If it works, then perhaps 3 stars. But, as conversion kit, this is not something you should buy unless you are an expert. First off, the instructions, apart from making no sense, are incomplete. They have pictures, but often the pictures are not of the part in the kit. And they are not pictures of the assembly, but just the parts and someone pointing to where it might go. Then, there are parts that are not described in the instructions. There is a disc brake, no information on that whatsoever. There is a small yellow, what appears to be clamp. Again, no mention of it in the instructions. The instructions refer to a controller mounting bag that was not in the kit. There is no information on how to reconnect the brakes, or if you are to reconnect the gear shift cable, which seems odd since this is now motor driven, but also has the multiple gear sprockets. Not at all what I expected in a conversion kit.

Old Geezers been screwed AGAIN.
October 9, 2017
It's obvious, where these batteries are concerned, that NOT using these batteries is BAD for these batteries, for the batteries that came with my scooter are, just recently, not lasting as long between charges as when new but the batteries I bought as backups for the fine batteries that came with the cart, ARE DEAD AS THE PROVERBIAL EFING DOOR KNOB, so dead in fact that they no longer accept a charge at all.Now don't think Mr. Metal Head (Me) a "whining spoiled brat" because if my complaint had to do with my child's "Barbie Doll toy car" it might indeed seem churlish (But then again, no one like to be screwed out of their OWN money, even when you have plenty of it) But when you understand "These batteries were meant for a newly handicapped man in caring for his newly, severely crippled and cancer ridden wife, the churlish nature of my complaint can be, if not forgiven, then at least understood.BTW, Living on "SSI ONLY" WAS/IS AN 80% REDUCTION IN "The Old Geezer Metal Head's" household yearly INCOME". I'd say "TRY IT SOMETIME" but I don't know any of you well enough to be that cruel to any of you. What all this means is just this "the money I've lost buying these batteries is lost for good" Because I don't have TODAY, and wont have TOMORROW, any SPARE money to replace these "Replacement batteries" when they, the ORIGINAL batteries, refuse to take a charge at all, then, I suppose, "I" can learn to "crawl about again but then, as far as my wife's concerned, I suppose she's just screwed"???
Warning - This is NOT a non-spillable battery !
September 24, 2017
I bought two of these batteries over four years ago for use in a small cordless electric lawn mower, and when one the batteries no longer seemed to take a charge I removed it and connected it directly to a 12 volt smart charger that shuts down when the battery is fully charged. After a few hours I returned to find it soaked in battery acid that had leaked from the case. So, this battery has liquid acid inside and is spillproof only as long as the case does not develop a leak, which in my case it did leading to a very bad safety situation. After reading the fine print I realized that this is NOT an AGM (absorbent glass mat) battery as are other brands that I have purchased and which have never leaked acid. Live and learn I guess.
