These have held up so well! I travel very frequently for work and use the big and small suitcases all the time, as well as the smaller toiletries bag. I was very excited to get a Samsonite set for such a great price, but was still nervous about them not holding up because of how often I travel. However, being thrown around through airport security and on and off planes so many times, there isn't a single snag, scratch, no sign of wear on these suitcases - I'm obsessed!! These bags are incredibly great quality - I'm planning on buying another set to give to my sister as a gift.

Having already purchased this set as a gift for my daughter a few years ago, I knew what I was getting and that my satisfaction was assured. I have been an avid fan of the Samsonite brand since my first set of Silhouette luggage back in the sixties. This set has a size for every travel event, holds up well in the luggage carousels of the world, and is a very attractive red that complimennts my personal style. I highly recommend this set for kids going off to college or off to the other side of the world for a study abroad stint.

My purple luggage arrived earlier than anticipated and in wonderful condition. All 5 pieces; a super buy for a relatively ideal price. I had always been a fan of Samsonite and Ricardo. My large purple Ricardo got ruined by an airline that refused to pay or replace stating that the wheel being punched in is not their responsibility. After shopping Ricardo and Samsonite online and not being able to find the color purple I wanted, I went on Amazon and saw this purple set and it has been a wonderful addition. I like the fact that it is purple, first and foremost. It also has convenient zip pockets and a separate shoe zippered shoe bag on the inside. I like the cosmetic bag as well. I probably won't use the duffle bag but if I never need it, I have it.

My husband gave me this for a gift - and I was so pleased. I used to think some of the smaller pieces were not needed - and they may not be for air travel, but for a road trip - this can not be beat. They are sturdy and full of compartments - the wheels roll easily along side you instead of behind, AND THEY ARE RED! good value for the price.

I needed a new set of luggage as the support legs fell off my old set. Many other sites were selling this same set at double the price than on Amazon. From past experience with Amazon, I did not hesitate. I am very pleased with the Samsonite set and would highly recomend this luggage as it seems to be high quality and a very low price. Hey, it's from Amazon so you cannot go wrong!

Really nice luggage for the price. I use the Medium one easy and the Wife the large one. The small is perfect for most overhead bins. Spin wheels are now a must have for me.

I bought the 3 piece set in Moroccan blue for my fiancé, who travels frequently. He is traveling in a few weeks so we will see how well they fare during travel.They came in only 2 days even though it wasn't a prime item, so I was pleased about that.I was worried that the color morrocan blue would be too light for my fiancé to like, but it is a darker blue than I felt the picture online shows, so that was a good thing. The color is "manly" enough for him to be happy, but unique enough for a crowded baggage claim because it is not navy blue.The luggage seems to be made well, and I like that they "nest" inside one another for instances when you might come home with more belongings than what you took. All 3 bags have spinner wheels which is great. The largest bag is REALLY big at 29" tall, which is what my fiancé wanted for extended international travel, so I hope it works out.

This set is amazing! I love that it is a nested set, it is strong, durable, handles easily! Took it to Europe on a cruise for2 weeks and the nested set fit perfectly under the bed! Love this product!!Note**Make sure you air out the lugguge on your porch (do not air out inside) the minute it arrives because it has a strong mouth ball smell that took about 2 hours to go away.

bought it for a trip and withstood the air travel! even the wheels did well on the streets of NYC! the handles had no problems! I have no complaints about this set. Be sure if you buy it though, to let it air out for at least a week to get rid of the chemical new material smell. :)

Best luggage for the price. I travel internationally at least 4 times per year as a missionary and transport tools, shoes, cooking equipment, and other stuff that can really wear on a bag. These have held up wonderfully. The wheels roll smoothly and zippers are strong. I have purchased two sets now and would definitely buy again.

I needed a new luggage set due to the last one I had the wheel broke off when I tried to roll it down the stairs. So I did some research and came up on this set. If you love the color purple then this one is for you. There is a lot of room in these suitcases. I used this suitcase when I went away for a couple of days and I used the medium size and it fit everything I needed and didn't need to take additional bags. The spinner wheels are great and glide with ease on rug or concrete. When packed they do stand without tipping over. It was a little more then what I wanted to spend but decided to buy it anyway and I am so glad I did.

I waited 4 years to write this review so I could provide an accurate life expectancy of the product. I travel 1 week a month, both domestically and internationally. Both the 22" and 26" rollers survived 4 years of regular abuse.

22"
In my experience, the 22" gets beat up a lot when checked, which is expected. The supporting frame gets bent easily, as well as the housing for the telescoping handle bars. I had to bend both back in shape regularly and always had issues using the telescoping handle after this, but was able to keep it ticking for 4 years.

26"
The top pouch zipper on the 26" broke after 3 years. Had some telescoping handle issues as well that I was able to fix with a screw driver and some innovation. After 4 years, the plastic trigger in the telescoping handle finally gave so I had to get new luggage.

All in all, I was completely happy with the amount of space and longevity this luggage had. Any product that can survive 4 years of luggage rodeos during travel is good by me. Aside from the telescoping handle issues, this luggage held up very well for 4 years of abuse. I still use the hand bags for road trips and storage. Not a bad investment since I purchased the set for $111 and they lasted 4 years. Can't hope for better than that from regular use and abuse.

These suitcases are well worth the price! They save a lot of space since they fold into each other.
They are pretty sturdy since i like to pack as much stuff as i can fit because of my indecisiveness for what to take with me.
I have had these suitcases for almost 3 years and they are holding up well.
The cons of the suitcase is that there are a lot of lighter ones available now and the suitcase itself weighs quite a bit.
The suitcase also does not swivel like the newer suitcases do making harder to get around the airport as fast. If you are looking for cheap but durable suitcases these are for you.

Picked this set up for a great low price (sub $100) on a one day sale and I'm very pleased with them so far.

I wouldn't call this a "top of the line" set from Samsonite. I consider this set a slight step or two above your typical "entry level" no-name luggage you might pickup for $50-$75 at JCP or Sears. If I had to do it over again I would definitely purchase this set again if a similar deal was offered. Set does include a 10yr warranty should a problem arise which, I feel, is pretty nice for a set in this price range.

Like others, I was a bit disappointed with the size of the large bag but, again, for the price paid it's still a good deal. I would compare the large bag in this set with the middle sized case that might be included in a little nicer/pricier set.

I read hundreds of reviews on luggage, samsonite is one of the top brands in the U.S. for luggage, several people had some trouble with this set of luggage, but others loved it, so I gave it a try, made it to california after several delays and layovers and other crap that made us take 6 different planes there and back, and my luggage had very few smudges on it and nothing was broken. I would definitely tell you if you looking for a great product for a hell of a price, get this!!!!

This luggage seemed to have very durable fabric. Also, I love the sizes and how many pieces you get for the price. The two larger ones are roomy and I love the two front pockets for "extra" stuff. I'm sure we'll use the duffle bag and carry-on for future trips. The smallest bag is a good "personal things" bag. I just really wish it hadn't broke the first time we used it! The one problem we had: On my sons trip to France, and the first time using the luggage, the handle on the larges piece broke. This was on the first leg of the trip! The handle wouldn't go down anymore! It wasn't too heavy either; only about 30 pounds so it wasn't like we were carrying bricks in it or something. When he got home, my husband took a look at it and the plastic mechanism inside the handle had snapped in two. We're still trying to figure out what we're going to do with it: try to fix it or send it back. Both are a hassle so we'll see. Other than that, I really liked the luggage.

This is great luggage. We were able to fit enough clothes (including shoes, PJ's, bathing suits) for a family of 4 for a week in Disneyworld in the largest suitcase. Worried it might be over the weight limit but it was not. Seems sturdy enough. Love the bright blue color - helps it stand out on the luggage carousel.

Cost effective combo of 3 pieces. Bags are just ok, not too cheap but not too sturdy either. 360 deg. wheels is a good addition. But again the quality could have been better. I have an older generation of these bags and they had a better liner - better quality and more organizing compartments, the exterior material also feels better than these new ones. But for the price, I guess no better options in the market.

Really pleased with these. Shopped at several department stores and just couldn't find any reasonably priced luggage until we saw these. They are a good, medium quality bag especially for the price. We saved by getting them on Amazon. I also think the wheels on these have a better chance of surviving the airport baggage handlers than some other designs.

For the price you should NOT expect the bags to be on par with bags twice as much, but with that being said we've taken several trips both by air and car without issue. The retractable handles are a bit wobbly and the wheels can be a bit tough to keep going in a straight line, but again for the price/value you really can't get a better deal.

The midsized bag is mine.My wife claimed the small one and we share the largest. My bag has survived its first trip,overloaded with 26kg of tools and gear,five aircraft to Africa.Wheels work well,even on asphalt and concrete and 100 meters of dirt. I am not sure how long it will last but I have another big AT bag that has survived this same trip back and forth seven times and wheels are still not broken off and not ripped out anywhere even though I abuse and overload it,last trip was 30kg. Ad far as I am concerned if you want quality and affordable gear this works for me.

It was a bright color, and easy to find. The pieces I used were functional. I would have liked a 'pocket' inside the luggage to place some smaller items, and a bit more cushion.

The luggage just seems cheap. I just opened it and there were strings hanging and it was beginning to shred/tear already. The zippers get stuck but do go. All and all- its okay. Cheap luggage. Not sure if I would say this is quality Samsonite luggage but hopefully it survives the abuse from the airport! The larger suitcase is light weight and I was able to pack quite a bit!

I guess you cannot complain too much about this luggage because the price was right. However, you can tell that it is a lower quality product and you can tell it will not last a long time. I would also suggest that there are too many pieces and say you probably do not need a med and small gym type bag. The luggage did however serve its purpose and while it is smaller than I expected it did hold a weeks worth of clothes. After one use though the handle is difficult to pull in and out so I do not have high hopes that it will last a long time. I was able to secure the smaller to the largest bag and roll it around the airport with only minor difficulty.

All in all for the price this is hard to beat, but do not expect this to last forever.

You get what you pay for. We one of the zippers broke on the first use. Not a great set for those going on a flight. The wheels don't swivel. Kind of clunky. Should be good for those going in a car.

I chose this rating because my experience with it was ok but not awesome.

Let me start with what I liked which was the amount of stuff I could actually carry in these bags. It was very nice to travel with family and have uniformed bags that way it's easier to pick up at baggage claim (well unless someone else has the same exact bags).

I didn't like the fact that piece 4 did not have wheels. It would have been nice to have wheels so I could have attached piece 3 to it for a shorter trip. Instead I had to carry both bags and my hand bag which was very inconvenient and stressful while going through airport forms and so on.

The quality of the bags are also just ok. I received one bag with a spoiled zip and during my travels I found that the zippers were too fragile and the bag itself had a few thread thrills which got cut in something at a counter that caused the threading to rip.

If you are looking for lower-priced luggage at a fair price and are not expecting it to last forever (or even more than a few trips through baggage handler's hands), this set will suffice. My wife used this set on a trip to Vancouver to Shanghai to Sydney and back. The bottom stand was already twisted and cracked by the time she reached Shanghai and was broken off by the time she reached Sydney. Otherwise, except for some scuff marks on the outside, it seems to have survived.

I am going to have tn return these and it pisses me off. They look great, exactly what I wanted. EXCEPT I am headed to Europe and I understand they can get very exacting about your carry on size. 22 inches high. That is how this carry on it listed but that is WITHOUT the wheels. British airways apparently places your luggage in a box to make sure it fits and, it won't. Now I am checking and this is a problem with several luggage companies. They do not include the wheels in the measurement. These were a good deal, until you factor in the possibility of me paying for extra checked luggage 4 times - that costs more than the set of 3. What a disappointment. Trip is coming right up and I have to luggage shop again. Apparently now it will be in person and with a yardstick.

Everyone who is reading this review should know that I think American tourister is a cheap brand. Their suitcases are relatively inexpensive compared to some but do not hold up long term. I purchased a different set from them 3 years back and eventually what you will get is the zippers will literally detach from the sides of the luggages making me feel like the thing was put together with craft glue.And based on that, I expect a similar thing to happen to this set. Mind you, this one is actually much better quality than the old one I purchased few years back. The bags seem much more durable than those. And I was pleased with what I found when I opened the mail package.I used this set to move from New York to Arizona and they were good for the move and weathered the 2 flights I took to get there well.The largest of the set skirts just below most airlines checked baggage limit. It is really quite nice just how much can fit inside it. It is just important to watch the weight on that one since you can easily fill it with more than 50 lb / 23kg in just packing clothes and normal things. Really good for trips that dont require weight restrictions.The main reason I bought this set was because i was tired of having to drag a max weight bag through a long airport terminal corridor at JFK, on just the two back wheels. An unpleasant experience if you are a small short female that does not have really good upper body strength. Therefore the most important thing about this set was that it has four wheels which can roll all ways, therefore I could merely push the luggage beside me. The wheels are OK. Not the best and smoothest ones. I would reccomend luggages which have wheels which match the ones on high quality roller blades. Those will allow you to move really fast through the airport on almost any surface (carpet, etc). The wheels on these bags in the set generate a lot of friction and if you move too fast they will tip over, if your bags are packed pretty heavily. And theyre not the most versatile of wheels and you will have a harder time wheeling them over carpeted floors. If your bag is front heavy then these wheels will not keep it upright when you stand it and I found the larger luggages tipped over quite frequently.The blue will also stain really easily, so be warned. Mine were filthy after one trip.For me, this set is good enough. I needed something cheap which would get my stuff across the country in a relatively painfree manner and it did it's job. This suits my needs since I only travel 1-2 times a year at most. If you travel very frequently throughout the year then I would advise you to seek out a different brand.

I love this set of luggage--color, size, style. HOWEVER, the handle to the smallest (carryon) was broken and I did not realize it until I was on the plane. It is frustrating to get something brand new and have it not work. I took the bag to the only authorized repair shop in Phoenix and am now waiting for the replacement part which is going to take about three weeks. Very disappointing. If they fix it I will be much happier.

I sent this set back because the dimensions listed are misleading. The smallest one is too large to use as a carry-on (several inches larger than the maximum allowed by the airlines), and the largest one exceeds the size limit for checked baggage (also by several inches) so it would incur a $100 oversize baggage fee. The 'small print' on the tags warns about the size issue, and notes that handles and wheels are not included in the listed dimensions, but you have to look really hard to find that disclaimer. Probably why the set was so cheap. If you're taking a road trip by car or train, it's not bad luggage for the price, but you'll be disappointed if you intend to take it on a plane.

I used this on one trip and it has already ripped as the outer shell is too soft. It is definitely a low tier set for American Tourister, and it is perfect for driving trips. It will not stand up to baggage handlers at the airport though.For the price it is fair, but if you are a road warrior spend the extra money and buy a better set.

I was very excited when this luggage arrived. On the surface it was very nice and looked like it would hold up well. On closer inspection, though, I found a hole in the lining of the largest piece (which by the way is quite large) and the handle of this same bag didn't want to lift smoothly and once up didn't want to close. I am sadly returning it today.

Low quality Samsonite products. I have used the bags sporadically (once every year) and they broke after 3 uses... The handle and the zip fell apart on the 22" carry on in less than 3 uses and the strap came off on the duffel bag. Feels cheaply made, is cheaply made. However, you get what you pay for - two stars blended due to value for money but don't expect this to last as long as your grandma's samsonite.

Due to shipping issues this order had to be made 3 times before it ever arrived and when it did I sent it right back. We were looking for an inexpensive luggage set for my daughter for an upcoming trip, the zippers and seams weren't finished being sewed on this. You would think Samsonite would be a better product, but I've had Wal-mart offbrands that looked better quality than this.

I purchased this set for work travel. After the fourth trip, the telescoping handle broke on the carry-on suitcase. After the fifth trip, zippers broke on the carry-on and the large duffle. After the sixth trip, I donated all of them to Goodwill.

For my college graduation many many years ago, I received a set of Samsonite luggage. It lasted me more than 20 years. But times have definitely changed. Despite the negative reviews here, I purchased this set and received it today.
PRO: the only good thing about this is the price.
CON: 1) I ordered the 'sapphire' blue set, but the color is not at all what is pictured. The set I received, while stating that it is sapphire, is definitely a dark dark navy blue.
2) Now the important items: the construction is CHEAP, the zippers are CHEAP. I cannot comment on the fabric since it is right out of the box, but I seriously doubt that this set would last a year, let alone 20.
3) the smell is horrible. Comes complete with the nice California Prop 65 warning of formaldehyde (carcinogen) present.
I would not recommend this set to anyone. I am returning this today. I would rather use the money toward one sturdy piece of luggage than this set of five that appear anything but sturdy.

Not even close to the quality I expected from American Tourister. Considering donating them and purchasing Samsonite for quality.

Meh. Zipper broken on two suitcases on our first trip and none of the suitcases were full.Made of thin cheap material. Clothes don't stay; they fall low when you lift the suitcase. Strap to hold them in place - too short. Save your money.

I recently purchased this 3-piece luggage set and used it for the first time this past week. When I arrived at the airport and went to pull up the handle on the smaller suitcase, it would not come up. After finally getting fingers under the handle to get a better grip and be able to pull and little harder, the handler came up but it was not connected on one side and I had to pull it through the airport with only one side attached. And although I would not necessarily blame the next problem entirely on the luggage, when I got to my destination and went to pick up the biggest suitcase that I had checked with the airline for the trip, something happened to the main zipper and it arrive in a big plastic bag. I had attached a TSA approved lock to the 2 tabs and they were no longer attached to the suitcase. I don't know what happened, but I now have 2 non-functioning suitcases. I have photos, but I cannot attach them at this time.

This color.....I knew prior to purchasing.......gets dirty pretty easy.....i mean FAST!!.....just looking at it....POOF.....it gets darker. It is not as bright as depicted either.....a bit more dull in color than its portrayed blaze orange look. After only one oversees trip and the wheels drag a bit, they are not as solid as expected, The zippers appear to be holding up fine......as I thought these would be the first to go..... I believe these to be good for one.....possibly two more trips and we will be luggage shopping again. I would have rated them a (1); however, there was no mistaking these bags on the baggage claim carousel......Not may orange cases out there! That was a factor in our purchase!

One of the main reasons I bought these is because I thought the carry on front zipper pocket would fit a laptop, but it does not. I've only used this set one time and one of the zippers is already broken. Disappointed.

I used the big piece of luggage for a trip to India and China that lasted two weeks. The luggage was already broken by the time I got home. Overall I'd say this luggage is not durable for someone that travels frequently.

Purchased this Samsonite 5 pc luggage set about a year ago, and the big 26" case handle puller was broken already. I only use the 26" case for international travel and it only went through 3 trips. The puller was pulled out and it wouldn't go in. I later found out that a small plastic piece inside the handle was broken. The material used in the puller mechanism doesn't have the proper strength and the build is really cheap. I expect to see puller of that 22" case broken very soon, as they are built exactly same. Very poor quality!

The suitcases are basically 1 big, one carry on, 2 duffels, and a tiny thing to store make up or toiletteries. The quality seemed too cheap for Samsonite, so I returned it.

First trip out, one of the carry handle snapped. On the way back home, there was a tear on the side.

I've bought many Samsonite products and by far this is the worse set. The material is ridiculously cheap. I wouldn't recommend buying it even amazon cut the price in half to $50.

After 3 uses of the 22', the handle broke. It not even good quality; it is poor. Even though there is warranty, but you still have to pay for the shipping. Would recommend spending the money on something better.

This was a Christmas gift for my son. This past week was his first opportunity to use this set. First time out and pull handle and zipper broke on medium size suitcase. Very disappointed from American Tourister. Tried to contact their website and it is conveniently down.

Two of the three bags had defective handle "release" buttons. When you press the button the handle should slide up out of the bag and extend. They dId not.

Bought these 3 peices of Luggage for a cruise and 2 of the 3 broke. The extended handle broke on the medium size case and would not extend. One the small case the front zipper completely came off. Not very durable

I've just bought it, 5 days ago and used it for my first trip yesterday. Failed the test, it broke.. it appears that the material is not that tough. Although they have a very nice design, I am very disappointed with my purchase.

Measurements are misleading. The measurements for the small bag listed in the description are just that - the size of the bag only. They do not include the wheels or handle. Because of this, the bag is larger and does not fit in the Airline baggage tester for carry on luggage.Even though someone asked if it is the right size for carry on - on a few airlines that accept 24 inch high bags, this bag measures 23 1/2 including wheels and handle. The airlines does not care about the size of the bag, but the entire bag, with the wheels attached, like most people that travel.Most airlines only accept 22 inch bags - again this bag measure 23 1/2 including the wheels and is not accepted as carryon luggage,
