This was purchased as a gift for my husband. It arrived and it is beautiful the structure the color the fabric just gorgeous. The handles and zippers are sturdy and the wheels make the luggage easy to maneuver. I rated it 5 star

love it very much, durable and great to take on trips, kids don't have to carry their bags anymore.

I just bought these because they are 1200D WaterResistant Nylon and have a 5 year warranty. I've included a photo of the card attached to each piece. They look great and I checked the functionality of all the zippers. I'm taking two of them on a trip to Mexico and will update my review in two weeks with their overall performance. So far I'm impressed with the quality and the look.

We have yet to use these as we have not left for vacation. But I wanted to say something about the quality of this luggage. My husband and I searched high and low to find new luggage that could compare to the price we found here on amazon. Every store we went to, nobody could come close. What we paid for this entire set is what one suitcase would cost in a store. The reason we were hesitant to purchase this was because we wanted to feel/see what we were buying first. So we took a gamble and ordered them.

Incredible! They are top notch quality. The material is so nice. The spinner wheels make moving a smooth experience. The inside is deep. The packing options are so nice. There is zip up plastic compartments in each suitcase. And they all can be condensed in to one suitcase for easy storage.

We can't wait to use this luggage. And we could not be more happy.

I recently purchased this luggage set after researching several different brands. I loved the set as soon as I received it, but wondered how it would hold up while being shuffled from airport to airport. I'm happy to say it survived it's first flight without a scratch. The material is very sturdy and held up extremely well. The only complaint I had was the black marks left on it from the conveyor belts. However, I was able to wipe those off using a damp cloth and some spray cleaner. I would definitely recommend this luggage set. It was very affordable and includes four actual suitcases instead of the normal useless duffle and travel bags.

Tomorrow, I will receive my 2nd set of this amazing luggage. I bought this last year after much research and striving to find luggage for myself and my daughter that would enable us to travel without the problems created by traveling with mediocre luggage. The current set of luggage is in Costa Rica with my daughter so I am ordering another set for my upcoming trip.

We have each had our experiences traveling with bad luggage - broken handles resulting in a tumble down an escalator and broken wheels, broken zippers....you name it we know it. But those bad memories are now in the past.

For the past year,this luggage has been toted around to a few countries as well as here in the U.S. It has been lost and found once or twice, dropped a few times, thrown down and tossed about as luggage is at all the airports. It is still in the greatest of shape and performance is top of the line. This stuff is sturdy, not to mention, attractive.

So, here's to my 2nd set of Samsonite Winfield that will arrive tomorrow. You cannot - I repeat - cannot go wrong with this purchase.

Fantastic set of luggage. I bought the 3 piece orange set for $296. I've used them all many times, including a recent move to Prague. These are so light, enabling you to pack more. The zippers work really well and fit into the TSA-approved lock perfectly, which is very easy to use. I love the color of the orange set, they really stand out in the luggage carousel at the airport. Couldn't be happier.

90+ Day Update: Still in love with these suitcases. I've been all around Europe over the past few months and they barely have a scratch on them, from flights to buses to cobblestone streets. 10/10 would buy again, I wish I had gotten them sooner!

Ordered this set to replace an old and tired set before the start of summer travels. My son took the biggest piece to Spain and France in July and he said it was perfect. Lightweight and maneuverable and kept everything secure. Held up planes, trains, and bus rides.

We then took the whole set to NYC for our vacation. Again, excellent. It is polycarbonate, so it has held up well. Some reviews complained about scratching , well it's not soft side, so it will get scuffed. No big deal. I don't bug luggage to stay looking perfect , I want my stuff to stay secure and for it to hold up to getting tossed around. This set passes with flying colors. Highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about this line from Samsonite! Since purchasing them a year ago to replace my older luggage I've taken them all over Brazil, all over Argentina, Singapore a dozen times, Bangkok at least once a month for the last 2 years, Ho Chi Min, all over Cambodia, and of course on trips around the US.

I've thrown them on and off buses, dragged them from train to train, crammed them in and out of more taxis and shuttles than I can count, and dragged them about a mile and a half down the road in the rain (they're surprisingly water resistant at the seams and expansion fabric...although certainly not water proof).

Through it all the handles have held up, despite the larger two consistently weighing in at 70 lbs and the carry-on frequently tipping the scale at close to 40 lbs (don't tell the airlines...that's way too heavy for a carry-on to be) and the wheels are still in amazing shape.

The bags also look fantastic given them beating they get! There are a few scratches here and there and I've frequently gotten a bag back with a corner smashed in...but it always pops right back into place with no issues, and the contents are always safe and secure.

The locks are still in perfect working order...the handles still slide in and out easily and feel solid when locked into place. All of the zippers work perfectly.

The single significant gripe I have about this set of bags that would make it absolutely perfect would be more handles.

The carry-on only has a handle on the top of the bag...which makes it a bit awkward for carrying up and down stairs...a side handle like the other two have would be ideal.

It would also be nice if there was a grip of some sort on the bottom so that you could more easily lift with two hands when moving it up onto a rack or something of that nature...while most purchasers won't use them to the degree that I do, most will at some point want to put this bag onto a stand in the hotel or lift one up onto a shelf in the terminal bus...the largest bag in particular has a deceptive amount of storage space (I've had it loaded to 104 lbs) and picking it up by the top handle and a rotating wheel is...not super fun.

That one caveat though shouldn't discourage anyone from buying them...they've stood as well and better to any number of other more expensive bags I've owned, including other Samsonites...I've been very pleased with them, and expect them to last at least another few years at my current travel pace. For people like my parents who only fly a few times a year this bag could very well be the last one you ever have to buy.

I've now purchased 3 full sets of this luggage, 2 in Charcoal for me and a purple set for my girlfriend. I can literally pack everything we own save our camping gear and bikes in those 9 bags...to date the only issue I've ever had was that someone tried to get into one of them and tore through the zipper with a screwdriver or knife...the end result was one zipper clasp was completely missing and a few teeth on the zipper got bent up pretty badly. I sent it off to one of their authorized dealers in Singapore though and was able to repair it with no issues while I was in Malaysia for a few months.

Great Luggage Set! Took the largest one for a week in Cabo and it worked great! They come in a box and each one is individually wrapped in a cloth cover and also a plastic cover which is great because it will help me keep these in great condition for a long time. I really like the fact that there is an external combination lock. No need to buy a separate lock. Also the lock is easy to use. If you can't figure it out, just google it and you'll find clear instructions to set the combo. It's very simple and easy to do. Other than that this is a great purchase, they are easy to handle and push/pull/roll wherever you're going. Also they look great! I got the charcoal ones!

Overall very good and nice looking luggage. But the handles don't match the quality of the luggage. The handles are made of very thin tubular metal. The handles dent, and bend. The plastic pull is riveted to the tubes and has a lot of movement, and I feel cheap and will break some day.

I bought this set of luggage because it was definitely priced right. I do a lot of traveling for work and for pleasure which can vary from an overnight stay to a two week vacation. I appreciate all the varying sizes, the smallest I uses frequently for a quick overnight business trip. The largest piece I haven't used yet. The luggage has held up well when traveling by plane but the spinner wheels are not as smooth as my previous set of luggage from another brand. However, the price is definitely right for what you buy. If I could give it 4 1/2 stars I would because the only complaint that I have are the spinners otherwise this was a great buy.

This is a nice looking set of luggage. I had read a lot of the reviews prior to purchasing....I can see that these might not be the best for airline travel, due to rough handling but for more localized trips (in state) these are going to be perfect. Great quality for the price.
Several complained about the handles not holding up...how heavy did you make the suitcase? They definitely do have limits, but seem pretty sturdy.
We are using them for the first time this weekend, I'll update my review afterward if need be.

Really pretty luggage set however I had to send it back three times because one wheel on the mid-sized/carry-on suitcase was shorter than the other three making it lopsided and roll at an angle. The third set was slightly better but still not perfect but at that point I had given up. I haven't used on a trip yet but I've started packing one and it seems like it will hold up ok, though you should probably be careful with the zippers. I also feel like the lids are put on backwards as when I go to open the suitcases I almost always go to the wrong side to find the zipper.

Overall I have had a very good experience with these suit cases. I initially bought them for a 4 week business trip as I didn't have any luggage of my own. I needed a decent suit case for a relatively low price. In this set, I found both. I have found that after 4 trips with this luggage set, the quality is pretty good. I would certainly not say that this set is worth $400-500, but it is an absolute steal at less than $150. Each suit case seems to be built pretty solidly, the wheels all roll very nicely on all surfaces, and the handles are all of good quality. I have some concern over the quality of the aluminum telescoping handle rails. They feel a little cheap, but so far have held up quite well and have shown no reason for my concern. My biggest issue with the suitcases is that the 26" and the 30" suitcases are heavier to start than I would have liked at roughly 10lbs and 12lbs respectively. The 30" suitcase is HUGE meaning it's VERY easy to stuff a lot more than 40lbs into it quickly putting it over the standard airline limit of 50lbs per bag. This isn't necessarily a problem with the suitcase, but something to think about when packing them.

Overall, I have found the quality to be exactly what I was expecting of a $100-150 suitcase set. I am very happy with my purchase and given my need and budget, I would absolutely purchase these again. If you are looking for a decent quality, low cost set, this is a great option. However, if you are looking for a high-quality low-weight set, you may want to look elsewhere.

Definitely protective, sturdy, and looks very nice; but, a downside is that, like every hard suitcase, this one gets scratched up relatively easily and they're quite visible.

Overall very nice luggage. It serves the purpose and is more spacious then it looks. The carry-on is a little small but not so much that you can't pack a few days of clothes. My only negative feedback is the outside is very attractive but one trip and it is pretty scuffed up. The material is slick-like and scuffs very easily. If you are finicky about your luggage not showing scuff marks, then do not buy this set. It looks it best right out of the box.

The surface can be scratched easily.
I just used mine to move stuff around. Not really use it for travel. There were marks everywhere.
Otherwise, the quality is good.

This set has all the sizes you will need. The largest is large enough that you need to be careful about filling it beyond the 50 lb limit for economy class travel. Weight shouldn't be a problem if you have a higher weight limit for first class travel. The beautiful surface stayed that way for r oad travel, but for air travel, the finish was left with light colored scuff marks. I miss the additional outer and inner pockets of fabric luggage, but so far prefer the polycarbonate.

Great luggage, for a very good price ($303.90 with shipping). Was delivered on time.

Losing 1 star because I wish they had an externally accessible pocket. They are spacious and have multiple sections within, though you must unzip the case entirely to access. For the larger bag this is no issue, but for the smallest carry-on-sized case this is a little inconvenient.

Just packed our new luggage for a trip in the am and one seam tore. The return period will be up before I get back. Hope the rest holds up.

These bags look really nice. They fit one inside another so that storage space taken up is only as much as the largest bag. There was an odor when I first opened up the bags, but I let them air out for a few hours until the smell went away. It really is a great price for the 4 pieces. But the construction of these bags is pretty bad. One of the wheels on the second largest bag broke the first day I used it, I had to drag the bag around on my vacation because it would not roll smoothly. Also the fabric of the top handle (not the extendable one) of the same bag ripped off during the trip. These issues may have been caused by me or the airline workers, but I expect luggage to endure a little better during the first use. I had to throw that one bag out. Luckily there are 3 more. Next time I'm going to pay a little extra money for better quality luggage.

Really seem like great quality but....used them once so far on a trip to Mexico- flew out of Philly and into Cancun and reverse on the way back. When we were unpacking I found two small holes side by side and the second largest piece on one of the long sides. I am very worried this luggage will not hold up which is disappointing because of the high denier of the fabric. Maybe there is no luggage that can hold up to the treatment it receives at the Philly airport. Many horror stories circulate about luggage and the Philly airport. But this is why we purchased a higher denier luggage set, hopes to have it last more than 3 or 4 trips. I will update this after our next vacation. We love the color, it's easy to spot when getting your luggage off the carousel.

The package arrived quickly (actually the day before the estimated free prime two-day shipping date), and seemed to be in decent condition. Color is more green than the greyish olive it appears on my computer screen, but that was not the problem. After taking all of the suitcases out to look at them (they were nested), we put them back inside each other to store. Everything was fine until we noticed that the biggest suitcase was torn in the corner! Tags still on, huge rip in the corner, haven't even tried to pack it once. Needless to say, i'm disappointed. Only gave it 3 starts instead of two because the other suitcases seem to be in decent condition. Not sure yet if we will ask for a refund and try another brand, or just try for a replacement.

Glad we bought this set, and we plan to buy another. For the money, we're ecstatic. Have used them on four one week trips, and they've held up just fine. This is my first time using the 4 wheelers vs. two. I like the 4 wheels because they don't tip over when left alone and are great for moving along in lines. They stick out a little more than the two wheelers, but I prefer this style. I've had expensive Samsonite luggage, but the zippers kept wearing out. This set was 1/5 of the price and seems nearly as well. Was also pleasantly surprised at the compartment ergonomics - numerous well placed pouches. Great set.

I'm writing an updated review now that the suitcases are about 4 1/2 years old. I'm giving them 3 stars due to their useless warranty, poor quality wheels (see photo how one wore down to the level of the wheel housing/encasement), separating stitching, and especially for them shipping a defective item (see attached photo of poor quality wheel hole not centered causing the wheel to wear in just two uses) and expecting me to send it back with $40 for S&H.

The rear wheels on the two biggest suitcases have worn and need to be replaced, plus the stitching on one suitcase is separating. The company has a 5 year warranty, but it requires that we pay for shipping plus $40 per suitcase for their shipping and handling (S&H), which is ridiculous considering you can buy the entire set for $160 = $40 per suitcase. I even offered to hand deliver the suitcases to the address is California to avoid S&H, and they said, "We are not open to the public, this item will not be repaired it will be replaced." It really isn't a warranty at all, but rather just paying for a replacement. Also,they really need to use better wheels - especially on the biggest suitcases.

In the end, I decided not to utilize their worthless 5 year warranty. I cut the wheels off with a hacksaw, and bought for $9.00 each two pairs of 45 mm X 18 mm wide Luggage / Inline Outdoor Skate Replacement Wheels with a 30mm axle to replace them. I used the plastic that covers the wheel axle and melted it onto the improperly drilled hole with a soldering iron, and then drilled new holes. So, I fixed them both for $18 with better skateboard wheels vs. paying $80 for them to replace the suitcases under "warranty",

They would be better off NOT advertising a 5 year warranty and saying we make an inexpensive, average product that is sold as is.

I haven't had a chance to use then yet, and they are attractive and well made, but I was a little let down by how flimsy the shell casing is. Just the weight of the piece with no clothing, strains the handle when you pick it up. I have an older Samsonite and I guess I was expecting the same hard outer shell. We'll see when I use them how they hold up.

My husband and I liked the durability! HOWEVER... buy the matted type instead of shiny gloss. We purchased they shiny and blue gloss look and the scars from our first travel are very visible, yet no big dents! That is why this review is a 3 star. We traveled half way around the world on our first trip with these with no wheel, strap, handle damage, so it held up very well.

As far as exterior durability goes, the luggage is sturdy and the wheels work very well and the color made my them easily identifiable. I was able to easily handle maneuvering the carry-on bag simultaneously with the largest suitcase. My only criticism on the exterior is the lack of a place to grasp the luggage from the bottom to help with picking it up to load and something to prevent scuffing (perhaps solved using rubber/silicone strips where the horizontal lines are). As for the interior, when I received the luggage, the inside divider already had seams around the zipper that were coming apart. If your criteria for exterior features is minimal, will be a good fit. The seams coming apart may have just been a fluke.

After 3 trips zipper broke on mid size and Samsonite logo came off leaving two holes in the front

My fault, not the bags. But, no pockets slay me on the carry on size. Timing fine, but not spectacular. Hard sided experiment failed for me. Prefer expandable soft side with pockets. Live and learn...

Wheels Not Sitting Properly On Ground

CONS: First of all they are really heavy. The little one weighs 9lbs. with out anything and that is not ok because in airports carry ons are sometimes 10-15lbs allowed. that means you can only bring 1 or 6lbs in them.
2nd the wheels get stuck. on my big luggage the one that ways 12lbs without anything in it. the first trip i took it on, the wheels broke!
AND THEY ARE REALLY HEAVY so it limits how much you can travel with.

Pro: beautiful color, the zippers work great, i like how the handle can be adjusted.

The 18" wheels are defective and it's nearly impossible to get it corrected. I used it for a trip one month after purchase. The suitcase rolled about three feet when I noticed the wheels not working correctly. I returned home only to find that Amazon says it's out of return status. While the product email address is not active.
Apparently I can send $40.00 and maybe get an "evaluation" of warrantee repair...I want a new suitcase not an evaluation for repair that costs more than the case itself! I strongly suggest you DO NOT buy this set.

We purchased this set for Christmas. I didn't have as much of an issue with the smell as some of the reviewers have had. I expected some odor and when I unpacked them I put dryer sheets in each one to help. It wasn't an issue after that.
We don't travel much so the first trip we took was in April 2014 and they did ok. The wheels don't work well if there is any additional weight such as a duffle bag or briefcase set on the top of it.
The second trip was in June and they didn't fare as well. The large suitcase came off the return flight with the back seam ripped out and the side handle completely ripped off! I was not happy. I will purchase something different when I replace what's left of this set.

We purchased this set of luggage for a trip we recently took and when we received it we found the handle on the large suitcase to be dented making hard to pull the handle up. The zippers on all pieces were sticking when we tried to open them making it difficult to open & close. They didn't glide smoothly. Finally, after we had arrived at our destination, part of the stitching on the large suitcase came apart. We had to purchase a sewing kit to repair it before we flew back home. We thought based off of the reviews this was going to be a great set for us but it turned out not to be. Very disappointing.

I have used these for only three times and already the telescoping handle on the smaller one is bending and will eventually break. Also, they DO NOT hold up well in use and scratch VERY easily. Not a good purchase. Very disappointed in Samsonite.

I debated for a long time about replacing my soft samsonite luggage (which I had for many years) with the hard luggage. I bought this set - which is very pretty -- but unfortunately, the very first time I used it, it got so many dings and dents. I thought the hard cases would be very sturdy but they aren't. Also, the smallest one is a little too small -- it's really just an overnight -- maybe 2 max. I should've kept my old luggage or gone for the soft. I won't make that mistake ever again. But very disappointed.

Would like to return this set. Doesn't hold up and if you just rub it against something it will scratch. Bought 2 other different sets and they are great from samsonite

after my first travel, the 26" luggage was received without the seam of the sewing thread. Only one travel last. was bought on january 6th, i travel on January 12, and return on February 12. Unfortunately this happen in my first travel with the suitcase and can't returned because the deadline was on February 5, and i was out of the country.

I have only used the 29" and the 22" pieces one time each, on different trips, and both are very hard to roll upon returning home. I contacted the seller and they asked for the proof of purchase and a picture of the defective part. I furnished the requested items and receive a email that said for me to oil the rollers, which are plastic, and if I was still unhappy I could return them but there is a $40 charge per piece to do so. If I returned 2 defective cases the $80 would be over half of what I paid for the set. It states they have a 3 year warranty but fails to mention anything about a charge to us it.

I purchased this only two months ago for our trip to Japan in March. They looked nice at first, but the wheels pretty much break right away during the trip. We've only used the 18"x15"x9", the 26"x17"x10" and the 30"x19"x11". The wheels are just not designed to withstand weight more than 30lb I'd assume, because the heaviest the luggages had ever got was right before we leave Japan with lots of souvenirs in our bags, at 46lb, which is under airline weight allowance for checked-in bags! Yet, the wheels broke way before we ever get to that weight. So after only one trip, the bigger two (26"x17"x10" and 30"x19"x11") are basically junk now. We will have to purchase new luggage for our future trip, and I will never ever purchase this brand again.

I purchased this item on 12/11/15. I just used one piece (the smallest size) of this set for the 1st time on 1/14/16. It has already ripped. This is poor quality. Amazon is great to offer me some options about returning and replacing which I appreciate. But shame on the manufacturer Fox Luggage, that now if I decide to have it repaired, I have to pack it up and return it and pay a handling fee. At the end of the day, the luggage should not be tearing after using it once. I bought this set to replace my American Tourister set I have had for over 12 years which is now starting to fall apart, (no the metal frame is coming out a bit but still very much usable). Quality is so poor these days; nothing last and I guess with this Rockland set, not even after 1 usage. Will post a pic later.

I'm very disappointed. My fiancée and I bought these to use on our honeymoon. I was carrying the largest one to my room in order to pack. The side handle broke for no apparent reason and with no weight in it. Now my fiancée and I have nothing to use for our honeymoon, considering our money was used to buy this awful piece of craftsmanship. I'm very disappointed in the product to break before it's actually been used and in Amazon to be selling such a piece of junk.

This luggage is smooth, shiney and comes in great colors. Look for something less susceptible to scratches. Unfortunately, it was severely scratched after a single one way flight. The scratches increased after the return flight home. I'm not sure how long this set will last.

The handle broke off during my first trip, on the largest suitcase. Can I just say, a complete disaster!
Then, I had to return the entire set rather than just changing out the one piece which at first upset me. But after looking at how scratched up the 3 were from just one trip, I am happy to have them off my hands. I can only imagine what they would have looked like after more than one trip. That is, if the handles don't brake off on you first.

My best advice, keep looking! Sorry Samsonite!

I was really excited to buy us a set of really nice great quality luggage. You expect a lot from the Samsonite name and guarantee. But I think I was imagining that. Right away the outside was scratched up. See attached picture. Of course this does not matter since what you expect from luggage is that it will at the very least not break. In 40 years I've never had a suitcase break.

We have only been using this luggage since December and on our last trip we found that the middle piece was broken during our trip. I don't know what Southwest did to the bag but that is the point of luggage, to protect your things as it gets tossed around in baggage on an airplane. When we picked the middle piece up from baggage claim we could not lift up the handle. It was stuck inside the suitcase. When we opened up the suitcase the handle casing and the handle was extremely bent. By pushing down on the bent piece I was able to pull the handle up and take the picture attached.

I contacted Samsonite because I believed they would care about their reputation and brand and want to replace the luggage. I even offered to repair it myself if they could send me parts. They sent me an email saying I can buy some parts or find someone to repair my suitcase. Please tell me, people, if I have unrealistic expectations. As I said, I've never experienced this and I've traveled a lot and had a lot of suitcases with pull up handles. I think this suitcase is garbage and Samsonite should give me my money back or replace it. But since they didn't feel the same way at least I might be able to guide others away from buying their products.

The damn thing cracked on second use. I purchased it based on reviews but it's horrible. Never again samsonite.
