I saw some negative reviews for this set, but so far I've loved them. The accompanying video really gives you a great workout!

I was looking for an adjustable kettlebell for home use. This was reasonable price and perfect weight for my small physique. I didn't want to buy more expensive adjustable ones which come with heavier weights that I would never use.I never used the DVD so I can't rate the DVD but the kettlebell works perfectly for my purpose.

I first started out with a kettlebell when I purchased a Danskin Now Kettlebell and it included a free Gin Miller workout cd. I used it for several years and then purchased the Empower 3-in-1 Kettebell with Swing Yourself Fit DVD. What I like best about Gin Miller's workout cd's is that they are fun and easy to use. Because of the variety of exercises I never get bored. I can use any combination of workout segments to customize my workout for the day. Because of my age, my concerns are maintaining muscle mass which begins to deteriorate after age 40, strengthen leg muscles to maintain healthy knees and to keep my heart healthy. I need an exercise routine that will keep me exercising for life, and this one is it! The adjustable kettlebell works great but sometimes is hard to transition with between exercises. I usually keep my other 8lb kettlebell alongside so I don't have to change it. This is a fast moving workout. I would highly recommend her first cd as a prerequisite!

I'm really enjoying using this kettlebell. You can adjust the weight, which is really nice. I didn't want to buy several kettlebells for different workouts. The DVD is split into 3 short workouts. I do the upper body toning one the most and it seems to be effective. Even with it only being 11 minutes long I feel it works all the muscles and my arms feel like jello when I am finished with it. The cardio and lower body work outs are nice but I wouldn't rely on either one of them for my sole cardio or lower body workout. I feel they are probably to short to be effective.

5 stars! The is a great product. I love the fact that it is small enough to store just about anywhere. The weights are easy to separate and put back together. You can use 1, 2 or even all 3. I have not used the video yet but already putting the kettlebell to great use.

Great product. I have used it a couple of times and still find the system a little tricky. It does take some twisting and muscle to get them separated.

Great overall. The grip is a bit small for me, hence the four stars. But overall a good product.

Ok, so I love the video that comes with this set of kettlebells. I'm working out about 5 days a week, using a combo. of this, the Jillian Michaels shred videos & a few P-90 x videos, so I consider myself at an intermediate level. I feel like I get a good workout & I like the lady on the video. I like the kettlebells ok.......the only thing I'm not crazy about is the little lever you have to push down to get the kettlebells apart can be difficult to push down far enough to get them to come apart........necessary, I suppose to be sure they don't accidentally come apart, but there must be a better way. That being said, I do manage to make it work, and am overall satisfied with this purchaseUPDATE: It's 2/15 now, and I've been using this weekly since I got it. Still love the video, but the kettlebell is crap.....the little prongs that have to be pushed down to get the weights apart are unreliable, and have prevented me from doing this workout a few times now.......I'm going to buy a different set. Sooo frustrating when I'm all dressed & ready to exercise!!!

I love that you can change up the weights on these. The first day I received this I did the warm up and the first workout. I was sweating! But didn't really feel like I was struggling, so that is a win-win!

I've now had this kettle bell set for a few years. I really enjoy the workout. It's challenging for me, since I'm not completely used to using a kettle bell. The reason for the 2 star review is the actual kettle bell that is in the set. When I got this, I specifically purchased it because you can customize the weight. Now that I've been using it, it's time to put this in a bin to donate. The threads need to be lined up in *just* the correct manner or the weight will not screw securely to the 5 lb section. I've spent as much as 15 minutes trying to align this properly. Once aligned & ready for use, it's great provided you no longer need to take that weight off the main portion. I'm glad they have devised this to be secure, but it makes for a headache when you're ready to workout and can't get the bloody thing together. Also - the 3 lb piece is the only addition (at least on mine) that has the ability to be stacked in the middle (5 lb horn piece, then the 3 lb, then the 4 lb). I had the 4 lb piece attached to the 5, and had to disassemble the whole thing to add the 3 lb section.

Takes strength to undo weights. No grip when turning weight to detach and make it lighter.

DVD did not work.

For the price I suppose it's OK. It gets you started, but if you're serious about learning to use proper form for kettlebells this style of adjustable bell is only so so........ The problem lies in the fact that the shape shrinks or elongates when you subtract or add the two removable weights. This might not seem like a big deal, but it doesn't feel like the traditional kettlebell in use which actually IS important for learning correct form, which in turn, is important for effectiveness and preventing injury as you progress in your ability to add weight. As a beginner I had no idea about such things when I purchased this. Given that mine was not defective the cost of returning it was prohibitive, I had to keep it. $6.95 + $16 additional fee which is too much for a $40 item.Another thing. The workout DVD included with this kettlebell seems to teach a COMBINATION of traditional kettlebell and regular dumbbell exercises while using the Empower adjustable bell. It is NOT the best method for learning to get the most out of kettlebells. In my opinion a much better instructional DVD (you get 4 in the set) is Iron Core Kettlebell by Sarah Lurie. She takes it slowly and works on form which is very important to beginners. She takes you from beginner to advanced high intensity. Very clear and precise instruction. Another excellent instructional DVD is The Kettlebell Body by Lauren Brooks. Again, with an emphasis on getting the moves right for a lifetime foundation. I believe both are true RKC instructors.Additional information: In my opinion, a much better option if you want an adjustable kettlebell would be the two variations offered by Rocketlok. The insertable weights fit perfectly and SECURELY with no 'rattling' and the kettlebell maintains it's traditional SHAPE and BALANCE regardless of weights added or removed. I finally bought both the lighter 14, 17, 20 lb. AND the heavier 24, 28, 32, 36 lb. Rocketlok kettlebells and they are fantastic. Feel and move thu the swings, cleans, presses, etc., just like traditional single kettlebells so that you learn proper muscle memory right from the start. Amazon has them, but I found a better price (new) on eBay at about half the cost :-)

I had used the Empower 3-in-1 Kettlebell for about a month. I enjoyed the versatility and the compact, comfortable design and thought that it was all I needed for kettlebells instead of purchasing several different weights. Well, my opinion changed on day 33 when the bottom kettlebell section popped off in mid-swing! I have tested it several times, thinking initially that maybe I didn't attach it fully, and found that the attachment weight for the bottom would just not stay on either with or without the center section weight attached. I had unfortunately already tossed the box for it so I was out of luck for a return. After many a high hope to avoid having so many weights to find space for, I am now stuck with a 6 lb at most kettlebell and will have to buy either heavier separate kettlebells and find room for them or scrap the one I have to replace it with another model of 3-in-1 (if another company makes one at a reasonable price). Sigh, too good to be true often is, I guess.

The Empower KettleBell is made of plastic and filled with sand. Because sand weighs less than Iron, these KettleBells are much larger than their cast iron varieties.When making a decision as to which to buy, also consider the GoFit and/or J Fit. The are made of Iron, coated in Vinyl, and about half the size. The handle is the same size as the Empower so don't be concerned about not being able to grip the KettleBell. The smaller ones are much easier to swing and manipulate.That said, I purchased the 15 pound Empower KettleBell and it is exactly 15 pounds. At the same time, I purchased a 15 pound GoFit, but it actually weighs 14.8 pounds. I do prefer the GoFit because it is easier to grip (smaller diameter handle) and, as mentioned, it is at least half the size.The DVD is actually pretty good.

When I opened it I realized it was dirty, obviously pre used and covered in white dog hair! Not happy

I could not separate the different weights from the kettle bell. I even got my husband to try and help. But the only thing he could do was separate the kettle bell from the bottom weight attachments. He could never separate the two attached weights. Sent back.
