I've used this item to start a nearly dead (non-starting) car battery on more than one occasion. The manual could be a bit better. It's compact too which makes it nice for roadside emergency kits. The best thing about it is that you don’t need another car to jump off with. This is really helpful when you have car trouble in a deserted area and its difficult to call somebody for help. This is an actual charger that is strong enough to jump-start pretty much any car or pickup truck. There are videos on YouTube that show you exactly how to use it. In addition February 14, 2016 I'm very impressed with this product. I have a 2007 Honda Civic that sits most of the time while my daughter is away at school. It has sat for over 2 weeks and I felt that after last night's -13 degree F temperatures, trying to start the car this morning would be a good test. In addition, the temperature when I ran my test was still only 5 degrees F. The car was very dead, with hardly a noise when I turned the ignition. I connected the AnyPro Car Jump Starter, and although it took 3 tries, the car started. A little additional information, I had not charged the AnyPro starter since the end of December, so it was nearing 2 months since it's last recharge. More Power than a brand name pack! January 27, 2016 This is a powerful little device. I received this for Christmas and have recently used it to jump a 6 cylinder 2008 Toyota mini van. I have another brand name power pack that would not crank the engine more than once before a cool down safety process started that took 60 seconds to complete. It was not practical to use in an emergency. The AnyPro has an M-mode setting that turns the battery to into a constant on state. Using this setting I was able to crank over the engine until it started. Since this setting disables the safety on the battery I do not think it is safe to remain connected to the engine once running as the risk of back feeding is high. Regardless this power pack does exactly what I want. Good Product If The Would Tell You How to Use It January 26, 2016 The charger works good - the instructions totally suck. Works great. Power switch needs to be redesigned / relocated. January 4, 2016 Jump-started an 01 Jeep Cherokee with a completely dead battery (dome light left on), without any problems. The battery pack has a nice anti-slip coating. My only complaint is the power button on top. You have to be cognizant on how you place it in the case, otherwise it will get bumped and turn on the flashlight without your knowledge. Too bad you can't understand the instruction manual December 16, 2015 Too bad you can't understand the instruction manual. Products seems to be quality but I won't know until I need to start my car. Three Star Reviews: | 7% Long recharge time November 6, 2016 Got email from amazon to rate and review my purchase so: Bought this Anypro Car Jump Starter for about $25 with an Amazon promo code. Is about 20% bulkier than other competing products. (boltpower) Like similar chargers, charging one or more phones or running a laptop a while on it greatly reduces shelf life and probability of starting car. So , keep it charged. but...(see downside) Has higher quality jumpstart clamps than other models. Comes with a hard zipper case about 10"x8", clamps , cigarette lighter and AC charger. and 8 adapters to charge various laptops. Downside: Unlike model from boltpower, takes 48-72 hrs+ to recharge from 2 bars to 4 bars. Have a friend who ordered one with me and his is the same. Don't know what usb charge and jumpstart only Walmart Everstart model ($35) is like. A good Item for $24, wouldn't pay $79 for it. Provided a little over an hour of laptop time. May be wrong but not as long as Boltpower model. Never got a chance to jumpstart any with this model. Boltpower model jumped a 4cyl car 8 times between charges with no problems in summer. If this one is like that it would be a plus. Seems good quality, especially clamps. Recharging seems an issue though, Regards -j Real review same problems all the other bad reviews have. March 3, 2016 Had problems charging right out of the box. It did finally charge fully, but as i tried to use it yesterday for the first time (been in my trunk for 2 months or less) the unit was completely dead. Tried to recharge but same issue doesnt want to charge. I have contacted the seller and will change my review if the "warranty" actually replaces the unit, and the new unit actually works. All these 5 star reviews are from people that received the item for free. I paid full price for this defective unit. Updated* They shipped me a replacement within a few days, the new unit charged as it is supposed to. Time will tell if it holds a charge as it is supposed to. If you're not a tech nerd find one to help explain the set up and how to use. December 30, 2015 The product appears to be of high quality. I have not had an opportunity to use it yet. The instructions leave a tremendous black hole regarding it's use.. It appears that a 4th grader wrote the pamphlet . When you click on their website you get a huge nothing, in fact there is no address listed on the instructions if you had to send it back for warranty work, no 800 number and I sincerely wonder if I had to use this product...would it work?? So what is the warranty for if you have no idea how to apply it if need be?? I've seen better instructions on screwing a light bulb in....it's really the pits. However there is a video on this product under the reviews for it. The gentleman speaks a mile a minute so you may have to replay it a few times to fully understand it. It comes with attachments that you would probably not need to use ever. One Star Reviews: | 19% Avoid. Light duty item. Battery might be OK, but connection to battery and so-called smart technology is not serious. November 29, 2016 First time I used it on a moderately weak battery, it worked fine. Car started in about 20 seconds. The second time I used it, today, with fully charged jumper battery, and on a weaker colder car battery, the so-called "controller box" attached to the wires and battery clamps MELTED, even though I was using the unit in "smart mode." MELTED, including blue rubber insulators around connector terminals to jumper battery. Wires feel out of hot deformed controller box. Controller box was smoking. That was after about 50 seconds of hard cranking. Had to call a jump service car through my insurance. That got me started quickly. Confusing instructions written by a non-native English speaker. Not a good or safe product in my opinion July 12, 2016 EDIT to review below. After posting this review here on Amazon, I was contacted almost immediately by Anypro, who offered to either refund my money or ship me a replacement. Since the device worked as advertised before it started smoking, I decided to give Anypro another try and took the replacement. They shipped it to me for free and I had it within two days of their contacting me. Hopefully this one will last a little longer than the first one. EDIT #2 The replacement Anypro car jump starter failed the very first time I used it! Following the instructions, I fully charged the host battery pack before use, using the 120V AC adapter. I connected the jump leads to the host and connected the leads to the dead battery in my car, red to positive and then black to negative. I pressed the power button on the control box until the light came on. I tried starting the vehicle and saw smoke coming from the jump starter. There must have been a short because the the plastic case melted and the red lead actually detached from inside the device! This thing is a fire hazard in my opinion. When I contacted Anypro again, they promptly refunded my money and apologized. Your experience with this device will probably be good, based on all the other reviews, but I gave this product two tries and it failed both time. ******************************************************** Bought this in early December 2015 and used it maybe 5 or 6 times over the winter and spring. Recently, I hooked it up to a dead battery for a jump and the device started smoking! The polarity was correct and the device was connected as recommended in the instructions. I didn't want the Li ion battery to catch fire, so I disconnected it and haven't used it since. I emailed Anypro, both through Amazon and from the contact form on their website to see to see if they provide any kind of warranty support. That was a week ago and I haven't heard a thing from Anypro, even their website says they respond to emails in 24 hours. I waited a week to write this review in the hope that they would stand behind their product, but apparently they do not. So while this gets good reviews from other users, the one I had didn't last long before it started smoking. Anypro is nowhere to be found, so I'm writing this up as an expensive loss and searching for a new jump box to keep in the truck. Broke on second use. Warantee is a lie. May 10, 2016 Purchased 7 months ago and finally needed it the other day. I was only trying to jump a 3 litre V6 but the electronics attached to the battery cables fried itself. It let out the smoke and won't provide any power to the battery cables. The USB and laptop charging still work but thats not really what I bought it for. The product description says it has a 12 month warranty but when I tried to request a replacement Amazon says the warranty expired 3 months after I bought it. Battery went flat in 90 days with no usage. April 11, 2016 Charged it up and put it in the trunk for 90 days. Pulled it out to top it off and the battery was completely flat. Li-ion batteries hold their charge much longer than that. If I cannot count on this retaining its charge, its purpose as giving me peace of mind is completely useless. Update: 30 days later, it's flat again and does not appear to be taking a charge. JUNK! This product appears great on paper and the look and feel is very ... December 26, 2015 This product appears great on paper and the look and feel is very nice when received. I charged it for just over 12 hrs waiting for the 4 LED lights to indicate a full charge, it would not show a charge over 3 of 4 bars. We decided to give it a try and we connected it to a 2 Liter engine thinking this was an easy one since it is t rated for a 5 Liter engine multiple times. The engine tried to turn just slightly and then stopped, it never did have enough power to start it. I tried to reach the company but Anypro Global or any name like it is not found, they do not even have a current web site. I went back over the reviews and it turns out the reviewers giving it 5 star reviews are all getting compensated with free devices.
