I have only used this for a short time,but it seems to work really well. I can mirror the text which is a must for an app like this. If I run into problems I will update my review but right now it's great. Excited to use it with my new teleprompter on my fire hd

Fantastic teleprompter software! Easy to use and works great. Has bluetooth control, so you or another person can control the teleprompter from a distance, off camera.

Works great. 1st one arrived damaged, but the replacement is terrific.

I do interview videos for political candidates and my process has improved exponentially. My 'subjects' are natural and at ease and our sessions go quickly. The price/quality ratio is outstanding. In addition, the remote is well worth including. The Parrot app works well with my Android Samsung 6 edge. The remote instructions are clear and pairing is easy. One caveat though, the raised button on the remote emits an audible click that may be picked up with sensitive mics.

I was concerned about the size, but it's actually pretty effective. It's cost effective. My client was happy. The parrot prompter app is actually one of the best ones. The bluetooth remote is finicky, but it works alright.

This Teleprompter is fantastic as a low-cost portable teleprompter solution. I don't think you can be more than about 10 - 15 feet away from the camera when using this, otherwise you have trouble reading the print on the screen. Also, the app from Parrot is just terrible -- text scrolls way too fast. I used another app for my Galaxy S6 and it works well enough (there is room for innovation here).For what it was designed for, it works fantastically. I wouldn't purchase this if you have poor eyesight because it is basically like trying to read text off your smartphone at 10 feet or so. Not the easiest if you don't have sharp vision.In regards to build quality (which has been mentioned elsewhere) I seem to have received a sturdy unit. I don't see any issues with the build quality, but I could see how it could fall apart pretty easy if it gets banged hard. I just keep it secured in a padded laptop case while traveling along with some of my other more fragile gear and it seems fine :).

This thing has saved my life. I script and record upwards of 2-3 videos per week, performing most without any form of rehearsal or memorization. The Parrot is easy to set up (make sure you get the correct adapter for your lens) and use. I strongly suggest NOT using their app - but using PromptSmart (iOS) which will listen to your performance and scroll the text in real time without the need of an assistant. I fan't fault them for their free app though - because the unit itself is amazing. I've been using this for a month so far with no problems! There is no hint of text picked up by the camera, and best yet - the Parrot seemingly doesn't cut the amount of light entering the camera.Fair warning. This is a tight fit for an iPhone 6 in a battery case. The Parrot is made of plastic, and an overzealous stretch or squeeze could damage the unit!

I like this app a lot for the price. What I like the most is the ability to control it remotely using Bluetooth. I use a small Bluetooth keyboard that is easy to keep out of sight. While it is true that you can't download Word files directly to the app, you are able to copy and paste from a Word file directly to the app. In fact, I am limited to this method because my Kindle Fire will not allow a .txt file to be saved and these are the files that this app is expected to import, so, copy and paste from Word is my workaround.

I use this every week for preaching and it works very well for me. Just one suggestion: Once parameters for background color, font color and countdown are chosen, have that be remembered. It is frustrating to have to set these e very time. Thanks for your good work!

Pretty decent app especially for the price! I would like to suggest the following improvements:1. Wider range of font sizes and perhaps font style options.2. Auto hide option for the menu bars which will leave more room for the text scroll.3. Adjustable (and larger) font for the countdown timer with color options for foreground and background.4. Audio beep sync option for countdown timer down to 2 seconds.5. Ability to edit script titles after they have been saved.6. Saving desired font and timer settings as defaults so adjustments are not required EACH time.7. Similar to #6 the ability to save individual settings (non-default) for each saved script.I'm hoping some of these features can be added in future revisions. Thanks!

When used in combination with the parrot teleprompter app it works great. The spring clips are a little tough its also a good idea to either have a screen protector on the phone or a case that stops the clamps touching the screen. You also need to make sure you get the right adapter for your video camera. I am using this with a cannon vixia video camera not the advertised SLR with the right adapters.

This is the perfect companion to my Nikon D3300 DSLR camera. Just use this combo with proper lighting, a green screen, and video-editing software (we use Camtasia) and you'll have your own personal recording and production studio.I took off one star because the glue that holds the mirror in place is uneven and I'm a little concerned that it might not hold, as several people have already reported. In addition, it's a bit tricky to screw on to the lens and secure the phone to the device. But, once it's in place, it works great.

Works well...a great simple solution.I was able to use this with both my iPhone and Nexus 7 (decreasing the margins helps keep the Nexus 7 on the teleprompter)However, I was not able to get the iPhone to work with my blue tooth keyboard in the Parrot app. The keyboard worked just fine while controlling the Parrot app on the Nexus 7, but for some reason, the iPhone won't respond. If you are working with a serious client, then having remote control over the app is a MUST (if you are using this for yourself, and don't mind getting up and scrolling through your phone while it's in the teleprompter, then you are fine)Hopefully the iPhone app can get fixed. (they said it was fixed by now, but it still didn't work for me :(

For $5, I can't even rearrange the files. The scroll isn't slow enough of all things. The layout is otherwise good, but I've used free apps that had more features.

Well it works, and is probably the best option on Kindle (and Android in general - I have tried it on a Samsung S5 as well as a Fire HDX 8.9). But it does have some notable limitations... The advertized ability to control scrolling with a bluetooth keyboard is not quite what I hoped. I have a Logitech K380 and what I hoped was that I'd be able to use the space bar to toggle pause and play while I'm speaking in order to adapt to natural variations in my speaking rate. The problem is that whenever you restart play mode with the space bar, the 3 second countdown restarts as well, obscuring the text. So this function is not useful at all for what I wanted to do. However the speed-up/slow-down function with the A and S keys works, as does the restart function with the R key. The forward/backward function with Q and W does not work. According to the app website, voice-adaptive scrolling was due to be released Summer 2015, but this feature is not yet available. If you have an iPad/iPhone, that feature is currently available with the PromptSmart app.On a more positive note, importing scripts from dropbox works fine, which makes it easy to compose on a different device.

It's OK. I would like to be able to upload word files to it, rather than text. I use it for song lyrics and the scroll speed goes too fast. If you want to slow it down you have to add spaces between the lines of the lyrics. It's very time consuming.

the settings button is very touchy.Is hard to make any adjustments without a lot patience. There is no way upload an edited script back to the cloud to store on my PC.

I like the ability to size the text. I like that it is so easy to import scripts to the app. It could use a more positive way to control scrolling. I also like the ability to use mirror image in this app. I also noted that when I import scripts, they are all listed as untitled, and you can't save them as well as should be the case. This is a good app but there is lots more work to be done on it to make it a truly useful tool.

I have downloaded plenty of Teleprompter apps. I cannot begin to tell you how many of them are absolutely miserable to use. This particular app is very easy and would deserve five stars but needs a few fixes to get there . One of the main problems is that you cannot paste. You have to import the documents which it is very fickle about where it imports from.

Great product, shame about the glue showing through.

It works great, however...the glue that holds the glass sucks. The glass came off already with less than 1 month use. The promoter must have gotten banged up in transport to a shoot. Used hot glue to adhere the glass back to the promoter. Other than that, great product.

Downloaded to Kindle Fire HD.Noticed the following problems right away:Limited range of adjustment to font size. Large to huge. I needed smaller.Kindle crashed while adjusting the teleprompter contrast/brightness setting. Screen went black leaving no access to carousel. Had to do a reset.Limited adjustment to scroll speed. I read faster than the teleprompter so I had to pause while waiting for the next lines to appear.All in all a nice concept, but I would recommend avoiding purchase until above issues are addressed. I removed the app from my carousel but will leave it in the cloud as a reminder of the 5 bucks I wasted.

This didn't work for my canon xf200 until I got the fotodiox extender ring. Also, there's a little nub on the back that keeps the unit from spinning that broke off during my first attempt at using. Wrote to the company and received no reply. In the end it did its job. Hopefully someone will build a better version of this mousetrap.

its awful, once downloaded all I got was advertising ads, after ads and more ads for other apps. could not even press start. I trusted Amazon.........Dont buy it !!!!

It says my internet is not strong enough for use whenever I try to open it, however my settings say my internet is "excellent"! I've tried restarting my tablet and internet, but the issue still remains. Can you help me? I'll give a better review once I am able to use it.Thanks

I wish I had learned from the other negative reviews and saved myself $4.99 and time. Can't import existing documents, Kindle crashes as soon as you create and try to use the app. LEARN FROM OTHERS AND DON'T BUY THIS APP! Your time is more valuable than the $4.99 and the frustration. It gets zero stars in my book. It shows 1 so that I can gain access to the "Submit" button.

Oh my God, 5 dollars for what? My kindle is keep crushing, I can't upload skript. Want my money back :(

This app would not work on my Toshiba tablet even though the version should have been compatible. Every time I tried to open it all I got was a message saying it had been forced to close.

Cheap looking.

Not only will this scratch your phone, trying to shove it in the slots, the screen is too small and the software is not feasible. This was an incredible waste of money. Seeing that I got a professional light kit with lights, umbrellas, and a case for $45, this plastic box should be worth no more than $25. This is a con job at its best. They know that there is a teleprompter gap, and hope that our need for one will force you to buy it, and deal with the crappiness of the product. I hope CowboyStudio or some other company makes a better one quickly. It needs to be tablet sized with a screw mount (unlike the coil and fly paper that is used to scratch the face off of your phone).

I haven't even used the product as intended, and I already have a problem. I take the teleprompter out of the box and install it on my camera, and the very first time I go to use it, the glass falls out. Looks like this glass reflector it attached with some silicon adhesive. Well, this isn't constructed very well to have it fall out the second I use it. The glass fell on the floor and scratched. It's probably still usable, but very disappointed that I'll have to re-glue the glass in place. For the price, I wouldn't recommend this, due to the cheap construction.

This thing sucks. I'm assuming 5 star reviews didn't actually use the teleprompter. The screen is tiny and the app is glitchy as hell. I used it with an iPhone 6 and it was almost impossible to adjust the speed and the text size. It would consistently default to "copy" and "paste" when the screen was touched. The text size would jump to huge or tiny but not much in between. The speed would be too fast or too slow, nothing in between. My advice is to spend more money on a better teleprompter and avoid the frustration of this POS.
