Side by Side Comparison of: Lewis N. Clark vs Travelon vs Woodlore vs Shooin

I used these while traveling to Thailand! These are great to keep your shoes clean and protect your clothes in the suitcase from dirty shoes!

I purchased this set as well as the other Lewis N. Clark black/purple shoe covers. Both are good. I like the purple color in the other box; however, the fabric this pair is made of is a much better quality that the other pair of shoe covers in the other box. Each box of 2 pair had the same price. Both packages had the same product number, and it appears it is just a different year of manufacture. Since I already had the other, I can only assume this is the newer, improved version. I highly recommend these for ladies dress shoes to prevent scratches.

These work great and are plenty long for those with large feet. My only issue is twofold. First, the fabric is smooth not ridged as in the photo, second, the purple is not the purple that is pictured. It is a much darker almost black purple. I was hoping to be able to tell them apart more easily. I object to not having the correct visuals because I get my expectations set accordingly. I already have one set from " forever ago" that match the posted photo. I was expecting these to match.

As a side note, I had purchased a fancy shoe holder for twice the price and practically speaking, I don't see the point. If I could receive as many as I wanted of either kind, I would pick these Lewis and Clark ones. The simplicity and lack of bulk are far more important to me than having fancy shoe covers. Unless you need waterproof shoe holders, these work great!

These travel shoes covers are fantastic! They fit even my steel toed shoes that I need to take with me on business travel. You can stretch their use by doubling up on thin shoes. They take up no more room than the size of the shoe and can also double to clean your shoes if needed. I also like that I can separate the shoes while packing with this item.

But, I use these for more than just shoes. Watches and other delicate items can also be protected with them. You simply canot go wrong with these

I love how its made with a divider inside so the shoes/heels won't get scratched up together. Good quality make and I use it on every travel I go on.

I finally got serious about taking care of my shoes (now that I have shoes worth taking care of) and picked up a set of these for traveling and for storing in between uses.The fabric is soft and smooth, and the bag closes easily and securely with the drawstring.The bag easily fits a pair of dress shoes, and even a pair of chukkas (size 9.5) fit nicely.

Very nice product, that keeps my shoes nice and other clothes clean when packed in my suitcase. Very pleased with this and recommend to.others looking for a product like this. I have used others in the past but they were not as nice as this product.

One of the things that helps this product "work" is that it's easy to put the shoes in. In other words, the pockets are large enough that you don't have to spend too much time getting the job done.

I travel for business. These are the best soft shoe holders that I've ever seen. In my opinion, they are VERY well made. I'm VERY happy with this purchase!.

This bag is great for keeping your nice dress shoes looking nice. It is a soft fabric that will not scratch the shoes or scuff them like some of the other nylon bags will. Yes the fabric a little weak in the strength department but since when are you going to be throwing your dress shoes around a whole lot anyways? With normal care the bag will hold up just fine so I am not worried. The other really great feature is the divider. A piece of fabric divides the two sides, keeping the shoes from touching each other and scuffing. It has a draw string on it which helps finish out the bag nicely by keeping them inside snug.

I've been using this shoetree for a few months now. Still smells fresh, springs are firm and I've seen no splintering yet (I'll update this if anything changes).Compared to brand name shoe trees, I think Woodlore keeps up with the best of 'em. This brand is also owned by Allen Edmonds as well.Great buy, highly recommend!

Purchased these as a second set of shoe trees for my dress shoes. I purchased my first set of Woodlore shoe trees from another online vendor. For some reason the "spring" that keeps tension on this set of shoe trees is not as firm as my first set. However, it seems sufficient. The extra large fits both my 11.5M and my 12M dress shoes just fine, as expected based on the sizing chart. Seems to be a little nicer product than I have seen at local retailers and drug stores. The cedar smelled good for a while, but is rather faint now. The product packaging says that they can be lightly sanded to revive the cedar aroma, but I have not tried that yet.

I would rate this 4.5 if I could. Stretches the vamp of my size 45 shoe nicely, but pushes the heel a little bit too far.Shoe tree (L) came slightly larger than I expect it to be as it is sold in a range size rather than exact size.Although it came in a shabby box, the shoe trees are constructed using red cedar. The wooden parts feel ,solid, and gives off an aroma. Some parts of the shoe tree have a rougher surface, just make sure those areas are sanded off if they come in contact with sensitive areas within your shoe.The metal mechanism joining the two piece are riveted. Together with the joint, they project a little bit of the cheap feel. Maybe not the best choice for folks that want their shoes to look good at home. But for practical purpose and quality for the price, these are one of the best.

these are very nice quality + have a great cedar smell + are just as nice as the more expensive Florsheim shoe trees!I wear a sixe "13" and I ordered size XL but they were short in legnth about an inch in the toe, I contacted the supplier "Leather Care Supply" and they shipped a replacement pair in XXL that fit perfect, They also sent a postage paid return label + I was so delighted with their Super Customer Service!!! 5 star product + 5 stars for Leather Care Supplier"!!!!!!!

First off, these are excellent shoe trees. They're exactly the same as the Allen Edmonds ones, except a lot cheaper and without the logo on them.It's not explicitly stated anywhere, so in order to be safe, I ordered two. I ended up with four, because they come in pairs. This is obviously quite reasonable, but hey, I wasn't sure. Luckily, Amazon happily takes the other pair back and refunds my card.

I love these shoe bags because each bag is very light and accommodates one shoe. This is a benefit to people that have small carryon baggage and need to squeeze items into tight spaces. Packing 2 shoes together takes up a huge amount of space but one shoe per bag allows more options for packing.

I wish the drawstring closure had a plastic cinch to keep the drawstring closed. Without any cinch, the bags open up easily. I bought a small pack of cinches from Amazon and will be attaching them to the drawstrings. All in all a good bag.

Some reviewers have criticized this product for its thin, "flimsy" fabric. Yes, the fabric is thin, but it's also light-weight and -- while I don't know about you -- I don't want to pay an overweight baggage fee (that's $100 on Delta!) because of heavy shoe covers. The workmanship is not the best, but for the price and for the purpose, they're fine. You use shoe covers when traveling keep dirt from your shoes off of your cloths and to keep other items in your suitcase from scratching your shoes. These covers are perfectly adequate to do that.

I wear American Men's size 12. These covers are just big enough for my shoes. If you have bigger feet than mine, then you will need to find bigger covers than these.

Simple, effective, and not expensive.
I like that these are single-shoe bags instead of 2-up bags, as it allows more flexible packing options.
Dress shoes fit just fine.

The only thing they might add is some kind of drawstring lock or button. You just have to tie a knot.
The material is very thin. If the shoes are actually dirty or wet, it won't contain the mess, which would go through the mesh-like material. It's mostly to keep your shiny loafers from getting scratched up, I guess.

With one order, you get four bags in all, two of each color. The listing is a bit confusing that way.

I travel a lot and after having my clothes get dirty from the bottom of my shoes a couple times I started putting them in a bag when I packed. Having the individual pouches though makes much better use of the space and keeps my clothes clean. I always said I was just going to make my own, but I never did and when I saw these at a good price I just purchased them. They are great. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they force you to buy two pairs of them, which I didn't need two, and because the material is a little thin but I have been using them for almost a year and they have held up just fine. One note, I am a guy and they work fine for my athletic and dress shoes but I don't know that they would fit some of the larger, odd shaped, women's shoes that I see my friends wear.

My husband can fit one of his size 13 shoes in each of these. Boots would not fit. One suggestion would be to add a toggle to each one to keep it cinched closed. I had some extra ones lying around so we added those and they work great. Keeps his shoes from getting everything else in his carry on bag dirty.

Nice shoe bag.As others have stated, it isn't robust or thick by any means.Also, sizing is key as I wear a 11 and they BARELY fit. I mean so close that some of my other size 11 shoes don't!That being said, it gets the job done and its a nice material.Hopefully the workmanship will last!

A little on the small side for my size 13 shoes. They fit but are tight. Like the material and quality seems decent for the price. Just wish they were a little bigger for my shoes.

I use this every work day for my shoes. It's great. The only thing that would be nice is if there was some padding btwn the two shoes. I think sometimes my softer leather shoes get knicked from the hard heels of the other shoe on the other side.

These are quite nice. The martial is very soft. They're not very big but I was able to squeeze in two dress shoes. No problem for lower profile or more flexible shoes. No go for boots, even low ones. Two are in the package, so I can put one shoe in each if necessary.

Bags are nicely made.Sold as a set (two bags).One small problem:- each bag has an internal divider so that each bag will hold two shoes. Both shoes of my size 9.5 standard men's issue dress shoe will not fit into the bag. I use one shoe per bag and with the divider it is still a tight fit. I imagine you need to take scissors and cut the divider if you have anything > 10.5. I undertand the function of the dividers, they just need to be larger.Otherwise, as advertised.

They do their job keeping my shoes clean and are easy to carry. I like having two bags so I don't have to switch shoes in the bags. My only downside is that these bags barely fit size 13 shoes. It is still slightly open when I zip it up, but I guess that's what happens when you have big feet. Most shoe bags listed sizes and only went up to size 12 and these didn't say anything so I figured I would try them out. The shoes fit fine, but a small spot of my heels are exposed (I decided that was better than my toes exposed) so I guess these go up to size 12 as well. Most people will love these bags, but if you have big feet, you will be happier if you pass these up and look for larger ones.

I wonder what part of the Lore of Wood says to leave splintered wood on the shoe tree? I guess I shouldn't expect much from one of the cheapest variants on Amazon. Regardless of that slightly annoying thorn in my toe (heh) these fit well and their mechanisms work.

product is good, if you think they will mock your foot girth this product is not for you but if you want your shoe to stay flat and not like the Keebler elf's than get this product because it will keep the shoe shape and make it smell like wood. so fresh!!if the smell goes away just sand it a bit with 220 grit sand paper and the smell returns.

Bought a couple of these to go with some new shoes I recently purchased. They do exactly what they are supposed to - which is to maintain the shape of the shoe and provide cedar wood to keep the insides of the shoes dry. These are comparable to many other shoe trees available here on Amazon and elsewhere, but the lower cost makes them a more attractive purchase.Two things kept me from giving these shoe trees 5 stars. First, the heel portion of the tree is much smaller than I expected based on the photos, and I wish they were a little thicker to give better heel support when in use. Second, of the pairs of shoe trees I purchased, one of them was noticeably shorter than the rest, resulting in one shoe tree that has little to no resistance when inside a shoe. In other words, with this one tree, I can turn my shoe upside down and it falls out. I understand their is natural variation in building these shoe trees, but this one tree is considerably different.With that said, I will probably purchase Woodlore shoe trees again if/when I need extras, as I really feel you get a lot for the price.

Been wanting some shoe trees for years. Finally got these and I absolutely love 'em. So happy with them that I plan on buying more. Only disappointment was that I didn't realize ahead of time that these were spring-loaded. Maybe I missed something in the description that would've alerted me to that fact but I don't think I did. I was actually hoping to have the ability adjust the tension so as to stretch some shoes that fit a bit tighter than they ought to. The spring does not exert enough tension to really do that. If you're expecting something adjustable, you'll be surprised and a bit disappointed like I was. Would've given 5 starts if I'd known that ahead of time.Edit: just re-read the description and it actually _implies_ user adjustment in a way that I find flat out deceptive. I still love them but I certainly won't trust this manufacturer's descriptions so readily in the future! Leaving my rating for the product at 4 stars. If there was a separate rating for accuracy of the description I'd probably give a 2.

The shoe tree is great, but I wish the sizing chart on the back of the box was in the description. Based on shoe size, I got and XL, but based on width, I should have gotten a large. That's why I took a star off.I took a pic of the back of the box for the men's size and width so you can get (hopefully) the right size on the first shot.

I purchased shoe trees after watching a pair of ostrich leather shoes I had spent $350 get crinkles in the patent leather. Those shoes can never be repaired and will never look the same. I wish I had purchased shoe trees before I purchased the shoes.For the review on this specific product - these trees work fantastical and smell great. About 1/4 of one of the shoe trees I received from this vendor was made with pine instead of cedar, which I was disappointed about. Also, I wear a size 9 and these trees stop filling my shoes about 2 inches from the tip. Lastly, for my specific shoes these trees seem to fill some of the height of the shoe by instead stretching its width.Despite some of the negatives I pointed out above, I feel like these trees were a -good- value for the money. I definitely would recommend for anything that costs more than $80 and less than $225. For anything more than $225, spend the extra time to contact the manufacturer, visit a cobbler, or conduct some research to find out if a best-fit shoe tree recommendation exists for your specific shoes.

The product is ok overall, the material that it is made of is very smooth to the touch. The elastic band however is unable to remain closed on its own unless the string is tied which I don't really want to do.

Drawstring design isn't great, sizing is *just* a touch small (mens size 12).

If it were ~10% larger and featured a stopper on the drawcord - we'd be in business.

works well, a little tight fit foe some of my shoes (im size 12), but i can still fit any shoe in there because the fabric is a bit stretchy. its hard to tell if they are inside out as it kinda always looks inside out (but that isnt really an issue)

Very thing fabric. Does the trick of not letting shoes rub against each other, but the do fall off during flight. Would be nicer if the closure system had better string.

These were made of a much thinner fabric than others i have. I was disappointed, as they were to be a gift and had a flimsy feel and appearance. That said, they will do the job of protecting clothing in a suitcase and keeping the shoe clean and dust free when stored.

They're okay. Hard to get the shoes inside the internal sleeves sometimes. I wear a US men's size 9. Also the fabric itself feels quite delicate and I honestly don't think this will live more than 20-30 trips without some breakage occurring. I've used them a few times for traveling and for keeping shoes I change into regularly but the convenience factor is really low with them. The draw string is also a bit long. I don't feel like they protect my shoes a ton either but really I was using these to protect everything else and not scuff the shoes up a bit and not my items too and then keep any dirt from getting on my stuff and whatever. Also, price is a bit high for just a couple of thin bags of fabric with string.They're okay. Would I buy again? Eh. Not really. I'd buy the cheapest thing or realize I can't find my miracle item that somehow protects my shoes with soft internal fabric yet lets them fit in bags in odd ways still.

It's okay. Just the right size for my 10.5 men's dress shoes. Could not fit in my running shoes.

This bag is OK but the drawstring is assembled in a way that doesn't make any sense and is very weak. I purchased four of these bags and one of the drawstrings broke immediately. Everything else is good and that's the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 5.

Pros:-Nice fleece material seems to protect my shoes well-Roomy -- I wear a women's size 7: gym shoes fit well (one on each side) and, for flats and sandals, I am even able to fit two shoes on each side.-Has done well after being machine washedCons:- I have four of these and on two of them the black plastic clasp (that you use to tighten the string closure mechanism) broke or came off with gentle use. (I consider this a significant downside b/c now I can't close the bag.)

The only thing that concerns me is its size .. it is kinda small.It is not as what you see here in the item picture. For some it might be even better, but to be honest is nothing near the picture color (which I do not mind so much).

I bought these shoe bags a few years ago and was really pleased with the quality, thick, sturdy bags. So I bought some more now. But I was a little disappointed that they are now made of much thinner, flimsier material. They are adequate, but no longer luxurious.

Nice product but too big and don't fit in my size 11 shoes.

They initially smelled great and seemed to be adequately absorbing moisture in my shoes, but after a few months, they have to be sanded down again to smell good and open up the pores in the wood. It just seems like something causes them to clog up. I have other shoe trees that do not require this.

Purchased this for a size 12D pair of shoes and it fit very well. Except the shoes were too big so I exchanged them for 11.5D, the lower end of the scale for these shoe trees. While the shoe tree width was still ok in the smaller shoes, they barely squeezed into them lengthwise. I couldn't see myself struggling with these trees on a daily basis and was concerned they might damage the shoes.The large ones of this brand supposedly only go up to size 11 so I switched to a different brand of shoe trees to avoid another potential issue. Disappointing.

These are made out of cedar and great to keep a pair of leathers in shape and smell all like Muir Woods and what not. In general, they work fine. They are a bit small so I would advise ordering a larger size. They fit one of my leather shoes that is a little narrower than the rest and more fitted to my foot. The ideal shoe tree would be one with a full back heel that is found on one of their more expensive models. I found a better deal on ones with a full back heel for cheaper than these locally, surprisingly! Overall, decent product and works as advertised.

I ordered this item because of customer reviews that described it as the very same item as more expensive ones with shoe brand names attached. I'm a size 12 shoe, so I ordered this size 11.5-13 M sized tree expecting a reasonably good fit. While the shoe tree is long enough to properly tension my shoes, the forward half when fitted into my shoes is almost fully spread to its limits and is not tall enough to optimally keep my shoes in shape. Compared to other shoe trees I own this one seems to be a narrow rather than a medium, but I can't know for sure what the manufacturer says it is because there are no size markings on it.Also I experienced another problem with one of the trees. Upon receipt the metal shaft of one of the trees was bent and the mechanism wouldn't function properly until I bent it back straight so it would work. The box that the pair came in didn't show any signs of being crushed or otherwise damaged, so the shoe tree must have been damaged before being packaged indicating poor quality control.I'll see how long and well this pair of shoe trees work, but for now I would tell other buyers to look elsewhere for better quality.

I got these trees and thought they were great at first, They function and fit my size 11-13 shoes and boots perfectly, and they're very easy to use.The only problem is the lack of cedar smell. I ordered FootFitter shoe trees a couple of weeks after these, and the FootFitters are just better all around. The pull-cord feels more sturdy, and the function seems easier, but most importantly, the foot fitters SMELL like cedar.There is a night-and-day difference between the two in terms of smell. So if you're looking for true cedar shoe trees that absorb moisture and leaves your shoes smelling fresh, go for the less-popular FootFitters for the same price (the FootFitters were actually cheaper than the Woodlores when I ordered the second time around/)

The bag itself it fine, it's just you can't close the top of the bag. There is no clip or way to close the bag. I found that the shoe ends up wiggling it's way out of the bag during travel. I don't want to tie a knot in the string for fear I wouldn't be able to get it open. I recommend finding a product similar, but with some sort of closure to keep the shoe in the bag.

These covers are very thin and slippery, and the drawstring does not stay closed unless you tie it manually. So you have to tie your shoes into the bag or the bag slips right off. Functional, but really more annoying than useful.

Needs to be longer to accommodate my size 11.5 shoes.

These shoe pouches are cheap, thin and reek of chemicals. Seriously. I took them out of the box and there was this strong odor that was like a mix between chemicals and body odor. I bought a pair of higher end Johnston & Murphy shoes a few years ago and they came with a very nice cotton/fleece type bags for the shoes.

This time when I bought a cheaper shoe I didn't get a bag so I thought these would be a good replacement.

I'll still probably try these after I spray them with Febreeze, but I can't imagine they will hold up long.

These feel flimsy and look inside-out no matter which way you turn them. Also, two ladies' shoes may not fit in one bag as advertised--only light sandals or dress shoes.

Not 100% pleased. They are as advertised, but the material is somewhat cheap feeling and it would only fit a pair of women's flat dress shoes size 8 max. Thank goodness I have a few of those or this would be a totally wasted purchase. Still, I wouldn't purchase them again due to the quality issue.

I ordered these shoe bags and received them relatively quickly, however, when I opened the package, I was shocked at how flimsy they are. They are not lined, and when I hold them up to the light, I can see my hand through the fabric. I could have made something better myself. Not sending them back because I need something and these will do (for now)...the picture is not realistic. I thought I was getting a similar item to a shoe bag I bought several years ago from Avon. It was great...thicker velour type fabric with a darker grey lining...very sturdy and very well made. A big thumbs down on this one...

I purchased a few of these, and one had an issue on the first use. The pull string broke. For the price, I would have expected much better quality. The others seem to be working okay so far.

Cheaply made, save your money or spend a little more on better product.

The loop isn't the best at removing the tree from the shoe. It actually kinda cuts into my hand. I have other shoe trees with a place to grip that are more comfortable to use. I noticed today that one of the pins is working its way out as the drilled hole is too large for the crimped end of the pin.

These are just for show drying and form-holding between wears, not stretching. Unfortunately, the XL is too forceful on my size 12s, and deforms the back of the shoe in a way which would eventually make them unwearable.Fine other than that. Order a size smaller than you think you need, I'd say.

I guess the set I got is too small even though I used the size chart. My brand new shoes look just as old and worn as those that are over a year old.I tested the difference by using one shoe tree on my left shoe for a couple weeks and none on the right shoe. Both look identical. Not sure if this is a true measure of the usefulness, but this was recommended to me.The only reason I gave it 2-stars is because I believe they are solidly made and operate well. I just wish they did what they were supposed to.

Based on other reviews that stated this product could be substituted for women's sizes I ordered one. Not true. I wear a 7.5 and the small was too large. Couldn't even get it into a shoe and the front was simply way too wide. Thankfully my husband can use it as cedar odor freshener.That aside I'd rate the product higher. Its excellently made, well packaged, perfect for its intended use, for men.

The quality of the wood is perfect, and the smell is very refreshing. But, there are small dowels inside the "foot" part of the shoe tree that are easily breakable. Mine broke within the first week. Although this does not effect the function very much, it is just sad to have to pay so much for something that is easily breakable. Would not buy this brand again, might want to buy some I can see in person first.

These shoe bags smelled so bad that I had to throw them away. I haven't a clue what the material or dye is, but they reeked pretty badly. I threw them out. A waste of money.

These are cheap shoe covers and no better than cheese cloth. They won't really protect your shoes other than superficial rubbing against something else in your bag or closet.

The shoes fall out of these bags. The fabric is very slippery and the strings do not keep the bags closed. I should have returned the bags, but I gave them to Goodwill instead.

Years ago, I bought some of these from Samsonite...same shape and colors as this, but a heavier weave. They felt like they protected the rest of your suitcase from the shoe. I can actually put hiking boots in the old ones. They obviously aren't cut for use on boots, but the old ones could stretch to cover the boots, and these new ones don't. The weave is so thin that there isn't enough stretch for a boot when I want to use them for that. In fact, these are so thin that they just feel like they're a waste of time putting them on and off a shoe. You can see through them to the shoe. I don't use them, and sorry I bought two pairs.

Drawstring ripped the first time I used it; not recommended, low quality construction.

Poor fabric choice, Travelon! Heels snag on this fabric and it is much too lightweight to provide protection from scuffs. My daughter's new pumps were both scratched on the outer sides of heels (not the inside from wear abrasion) presumably from friction with other suitcase contents during baggage handling.

I did not care for the bags after I received them. They were constructed with very a synthetic type of material, so unless you like this, I would not recommend them.

These are an awful purchase. They arrived not fully sanded down. Bits and pieces of loose wood.

Not a fan. The end that pushes against the heel of the shoe is waay too thin and didn't fill it out correctly and ended up stretching it out in a bad way. I bought two, the other one being for my dad, and he seemed to like his and kept it while I ended up returning mine.

Bought these because I was content with the set I previously bought - this was not a repeat feeling. As I pulled them out of the box, there were 5 slivers of wood poking out of them, one has a large knot right in the middle, and overall extremely poor quality. They feel like cheap wood, look like cheap wood, and are nothing close to what I previously purchased. Also, using the sizing chart provided by Woodlore, they also seem larger than what the shoe needs (for a 10 wide ordered a large). Very very very disappointing purchase - strongly suggest different brand and not wasting your money on woodlore.

These look well built and they price and the reviews are good. Unfortunately for me i purchased these in July 2016 and one of them the rivet broke and came apart. Now i have only one.

The title says it all. This thing was not sanded very well, and I've been finding little splinters in my shoes and socks since first using it.
