Five Star Reviews: | 65% Best pair of ariats I've owned June 5, 2017 Probably the best pair of Ariat I've ever bought!! I told myself I'd never buy another pair because they fall apart before you can wear them out. And found this is the best pair of ariats I've ever bought. The side walls of the boot isn't flimsy but ain't very sturdy so it won't rub the hair off my legs or cause rashes. I hate to wear long socks! Only worn them for a couple weeks but were comfortable out of the box January 4, 2017 For me, it was true to size. I wear a 13 in athletic shoes, dress shoes, hunting boots, some reviews said get a half size smaller. Cant do that with 13's. But they fit well. Only worn them for a couple weeks but were comfortable out of the box. Applied a waterproof conditioner to them. Removable footbed is actually nice. Gel in heel and ball. These scars on my knuckles match the scuffs on these cowboy boots Rugged yet stylish .... Outstanding boots! February 25, 2016 These Ariat Ramblers are outstanding boots!Foremost, the style is pretty much perfect. A solid, rugged appearance - subtle tonal stitching ... these are stylish, yet not overdone / too fancy.Good for work, good for a night on the town - either way they look the role and are very comfortable. With Ariat boots, though, sizing is not the same as street shoes or normal work boots. I normally wear a 10.5D Timberlands or Irish Setters. With the Ramblers, a 9.5D fits perfect. With 100's of positive reviews, rest assured the consensus is that these are a great pair of boots. If you get some, you'll most likely agree.Likewise, many of the reviews offer feedback on sizing to help pick the right length & width. Going to a store and finding the right size is also very helpful ( I tried some at Cabelas and then found a great deal on Amazon ).As for quality, craftsmanship and durability ... these Ariats are top notch.Comfort? ... yeah, these are comfortable enough to be an everyday, all day, any occasion boot.Basically, one would be hard pressed to find a better boot for less.Got mine for under $80 ... so, good value. Thumbs up! First time online order December 19, 2015 I usally go to the store to try on boots but This is the first set of boots i have ordered off the web and I had success with these fitting well the first time. First timers You need to order these one size smaller in order for them to fit right. Ariat has these ready to go right out of the box, as soon as these came in i put them on and had them all day at work and had no break-in problems. These boots are well made and can go from the street to the saddle without a problem day in and day out. PLEASE READ, DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE April 9, 2015 I haven't had these very long, but they seem to be awesome boots. I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but I wanted to make an exception for these boots. I know a lot of reviewers have already stated that they run large, but I wanted to take a minute to expand on that thought. I normally wear between a 9 & a 10; depending on brand. I went to a local store where they carried Ariat boots, but not the Rambler boot. I figured if I tried a boot on that was made by Ariat I would know what size Rambler boot to order because it was the same brand. At the store I could not get my foot into size 9 Ariat boot, but a 9.5 fit perfect. Therefore I went on Amazon and ordered a 9.5 in the Rambler. WAY TOO BIG! So I sent them back and ordered a 9. STILL TOO BIG! So I sent them back too and ordered an 8.5. Finally, the right size.Like others have stated in their reviews, this boot runs a full size too large. Take it from someone who learned the hard way, order a size smaller than you normally wear. If you are still hell-bent on ordering the size you wear in all your other shoes, do yourself a favor and at least order a 1/2 size smaller; I PROMISE you won't regret it. Aside from initial sizing issues, these really are great boots with a perfect fit. best boots April 2, 2015 I have 3 pairs of these, bought my 1st pair almost 5 years ago and they show no signs of quitting on me anytime soon requiring little no maintenance. I travelled everywhere in them. Day in day out riding the bike. If you have a thing for fine distressed leathers these are probably your go to boots. Like everyone else has said, they run huge. I wear a 15-16 in every other shoe and i wear a 13 in these.. I think they run a bit narrow too, I bought a 13W and I was disappointed to find that it was virtually identical to the 13D.BTW I do not believe that there is a boot out there that requires no break in, they will be uncomfortable for at least a week.Image below (from left to right is brand new, 7 months and 5 years.)cheersmike | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 22% Instep Makes Putting On Boots Hard. UPDATE 8/31/17 July 12, 2017 This is the first pair of Ariat boots I have bought. These boots are sweet and they look great! I ordered the earth brown color size 15D. My other pair of boots are a size 16D and they fit a little large so I decided to go with a 15D because Ariat's have been known to run big and Amazon recommended I get a 15D. In running shoes, I wear a 16-17 depending on the brand and I'm 6'5 and my feet are not considered wide. When I put the boots on, it is really hard to put them on and to slide my foot in. I have to wiggle my foot and pull really hard on the pull straps to get them on. Once they are on, the instep is a bit tight, but the length and overall size is good and my foot feels secure and comfortable in my boots (besides the instep being kind of tight). I am hoping the more I wear them the looser they will become and the easier they will be to put on. Surprisingly, it is easy to take them off.I like the feel of the shaft being all leather. I always wear ankle socks and so far I have not experienced and uncomfortable rubbing, scraping, or discomfort.I am giving these boots 3 stars because they are hard to put on. Otherwise, they are great looking boots and the color is a little lighter than the picture in the ad. I will try to update this review as I "break in" these boots.UPDATE 8/31/17It took over a month but I can finally put these boots on without using a shoe horn. They are more broken in and they feel good. I changed this review to 4 stars from 3 because they fit better now but they are still tight on the top of my foot and still somewhat hard to put on. These boots are still badass and I get compliments on them all the time! I really like the look of these boots March 12, 2017 I really like the look of these boots. As a PA native that moved to Texas, I needed to get myself a pair of cowboy boots. These were just what I was looking for because they don't have to much flair, and au very basic.I wear a size 11 shoe, and went with at 10 EE in these boots. They fit very well when wearing a thicker sock. They are very comfortable too. The softer upper material is nice too because it makes getting the boots on easier.4 stars because I'm not sure how long they will hold up. I've worn them 3 times and have gotten a few nick on the front and what looks like a water stain. Will update my review if they turn bad in an unreasonable amount of time Good, but flawed boots. July 9, 2016 These boots started off being so tight that I could not fit into them at all. After soaking them in water and rigging up an insert to expand the boot, I was able to fit into the boots with thin socks. Progressively I wore them for longer and longer over the next few months. They have fit snugly but without pinching or pain now for months now.I've never been sure if I've liked the overly soft upper part of these boots that results in the boot having a perpetual flopped over posture. I like that this keeps the rain and dust out of the boots while they sit on the porch, but otherwise it can be annoying while wearing them. I use these both around the homestead working, and as a nicer pair of boots to wear into town. They are holding up well, and as I'm keeping them oiled, they perform well in wet conditions and wash off easily enough. I should buy some inserts, as the arch support is poor, and at the end of a full day of wearing these, my feet are somewhat sore. New boot goofin' June 24, 2016 I put these bad boys on and instantly increased my ass kicking by at least 30%.First I kicked some items off a coworkers desk, success.Next I kicked over a stack of boxes, easy.I felt unstoppable in my new boots. These s*** kickers are the genuine article. Cool Boots March 22, 2016 This is my first pair of this style of boot since I was a little. So maybe 35 years ago. Nevertheless, they fit great out of the box for the most part. My right foot is slightly longer than my left so it took a little longer for the right foot to get completely comfortable. After long days of sweating in them they continue to mold to my feet. They are already super soft leather so their isn't much of a break in time really. Definitely will purchase them again or another by Ariat in the future. Only recommendation I can make is if you have any type of arch to your feet like mine an orthotic will help. I haven't done this yet, but I plan on this soon. On the look side these are great looking boots. Plenty of compliments on them right away. And honestly I have always had some issues with the way my pants hang at the ankle. They are either all bunched up or just look funny. These solved that issue for me. Look great with all my pants! Dark blues, 501's, Dickies or my Carhart work pants. My first pair of boots March 14, 2016 I have always wanted to try out western style boots and this is my first pair. After reading all of the other reviews about needing to order a size smaller than normally would purchase, I took the advice and bought 1/2 size down. They fit really nice right out of the box except for the top of my foot hurts a bit after wearing all day (reason for 4 stars). I am assuming they will stretch out a bit and get more comfortable, but time will tell. They look really nice, but will have to get used to walking in boots. Being I have never owned boots like this before, walking in them is a bit different with the heel for me. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 6% Nice if you don't have a high instep January 7, 2017 I have a high instep and simply could not get my foot into these. Returned. Nice enough boots, though. Meh. October 19, 2016 These boots are simply ok. They took a long period of time to break in and left me with gobs of blisters. I'll tell you this much, it's the last time I buy boots online. Much better to go into the store and see what fits you and what does not fit you. I would not buy these boots again. They look good but are not very comfortable or functional. I feel like lots of reviewers were basing this info on tennis ... January 28, 2016 Sooo, I ordered 1.5 sizes smaller than my hubby wears based on reviews, but then I had to return them...way too small. I feel like lots of reviewers were basing this info on tennis shoes sizing. He wears 9.5 in rocky boots..that's what I ended up needing for him in these Ariats. He wears a 10 in sketchers tennis shoes.. The problem is that even the wide feels a little narrow and uncomfortable. He loves the look of the boot, but he doesn't wear them because of discomfort. If your feet aren't exactly the same size, even a hair different...Do not buy. January 18, 2015 I took the advice and ordered a half size down, it was definitely the right call, but there is almost no play in the boot. One of my feet is a hair larger than the other and the boot felt like a straight jacket after I spent quite some time getting it on. I've never faced this problem with any other shoe before, so I'm a little lost as I can't order one in a 9 and the other an 8.5 hah.Other than this, the boot is comfortable and well built. So if you don't have the problem I do, order them because they get like high quality boots BUT do order at least a half size down. Styling is jsut ok and the fit is wonky November 22, 2014 My left foot is slightly larger than my right, so usually I can tell if a pair of shoes is goin to fit by just trying on the left shoe. However, in the case of the Ramblers, the left boot fit very nicely while the right was much to tight (foot went numb within about 10 minutes). So the quality control is lacking and I ended up returning them for this reason. Also, two negatives about the boot shaft:1) the Earth/Brown Bomber has a much lighter (in color) boot shaft, such that it even looks like you're wearing light colored socks with regular brown shoes--this can be fixed of course but the picture on amazon does show the true color2) The shaft has a LOT of "slop" in it and it definitely shows under normal jeans. I guess this added room would allow one to tuck one's jeans inside the boot (if desired) so COULD be a positive in those cases... Not the quality of their other styles but still nice December 23, 2013 I have other pairs of Ariat boots but this was the first pair I've purchased that was made in China and the least expensive. They are very nice. Good Ariat fit and typical easy break in but they run a little small compared to the other, more expensive styles, I have tried. It may be due to the fact they are made in China and the other styles I wear are made in Mexico. The shaft of these boots is also very soft making it a minor difficulty to pull my jeans down over them. For the price, I'm not disappointed in these boots but in the future I will spend the extra $50-100 for their other styles to get better fit, finish, and wear. For everyday kick around, I will probably get 2 or 3 years out of them but, unlike my other Ariats, these won't be worth a new sole when the time comes. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 4% love the color, did not like the design, short fit March 6, 2017 I did not enjoy the line down the tall part, seemed flimsy $30 to return?!? January 4, 2017 I got these as a Christmas gift for my husband. The boots were too small, he couldn't even get his foot past the curve of the boot. Then I had to pay $30 just to have them returned. I'm a prime member, and would have expected any shipping cost to be free. I'm definitely disappointed. Order half size down February 8, 2016 Really liked the look and quality of these boots but the sizing runs wierd. I normally where a 10.5 but i did as suggested and ordered half size down and they were to small. Then i reordered my regular size and they were slightly too big. I think if i would have gotten the 10 and taken it to a fitter he could have stretched them but in the end i went with another boot. Buy one size small, if you buy at all January 6, 2015 SizingI agree with the other purchasers to buy 1 full size smaller than you normally wear (or possibly only 1/2, but remember that western boots should be a little tight, particularly at first). I accidentally ordered mine 1.5 sizes smaller, and they were uncomfortably tight.ReturnedI ultimately decided to return them and not get another pair, though, because -- as other reviewers have noted -- the shaft is floppy and of a significantly different color than the hard, molded lower. I found that to be pretty unappealing. Sloppily constructed September 25, 2014 These boots look good and fit pretty well, but it has a sloppy construction flaw. The main boot portion (the leather part) is glued to the sole, and you can clearly see this glue. It's jagged and irregular, and the real problem is that it is so unevenly applied that there are portions where the glue accumulates in noticeable white globs. From 6 feet away, these white globs are easily seen against the black backdrop of the boot/sole and so make the boot look very cheap and poorly made. I looked at three different pairs of boots -- 6 individual boots in total, and three of the boots (50% of them) had this glob issue (the others just had the irregular glue line). I returned them and ordered a different brand that didn't look like it was put together by an eight year old and a stick of glue. This obvious lack of quality control and attention to detail gives me serious doubts about the entire line of Ariat boots -- Ariat appears to be yet another Made in China company that cares more about shortcuts and keeping costs down than producing something well-made. Ariat figure out SIZING! February 4, 2014 Ive been wearing boots since I could walk, it was either Justin's or Ariat's. In my past 32 years ive never seen a more inconsistent sizing as Ariat does. Ariat makes an awesome boot, but only when its done right, that being said... I have ordered the same boot for the past 4 years and almost every time i need to send them back because one pair thats exactly the same size as the other doesnt fit the same. I dont see why a boot that cost this much cant have quality control and be consistent. Geez, Ariat this is one of your best sellers, seems like you would pay a little more mind to your cash cow!? | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 3% Very disappointed. I own this exact pair of boots which ... November 28, 2016 Very disappointed. I own this exact pair of boots which I love. . I ordered the same size, color, same everything. Arrived today and can't even get my food inside them, way to tight. Working on a return/refund now. Four Stars July 25, 2016 I haven't worn these boots 30 times and they have already busted at the seam. What a waste of money. Keep Shopping January 22, 2016 Great looking boot, but very disappointing fit...ordered a 10.5 (many times I wear a 10). I could only get one on and the one I got on resulted in some minor pain. Luckily amazon makes returns easy...I'll have to start over and shop elsewhere for boots. Totally bummed December 11, 2015 Was pretty bummed with these boots. Followed everyones advice and went a half size smaller (9) and when we got them they we too tight and my husband couldnt get his foot in. So then exchanged them for a 9.5 EE and they arrived and were so sloppy big . Since It was going to be a Christmas gift I exchanged them one last time for a 9 EE and they were so tight that he couldnt get his foot in. I am so disappointed in how the sizes seemed to be all over the place. So needless to say we will be sending these back and not getting boots. Nice looking boots but they sure didn't last long. June 22, 2013 These boots look Great! Nice square toe, nice contrast in both texture and color between the upper and lower.Unfortunately, within 3 months of purchase the stitching on the sole had torn in multiple places. The sole has stitching going from the treads up into the base of the boot but the tread is so shallow that it does not take long at all before you are walking on the stitching.Unfortunately this happened just outside of the return period. The boots still look new but they're falling apart. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
