Probably not for gaming, great otherwise.
May 4, 2017
This is a great monitor as long as you read the specs. I bought it for use in image editing and writing code. As such the frame rate is fine for me. The stand is awesome as the monitor can be moved up/down, tilted forward/back and swiveled left/right. The USB hub and audio pass through are nice additions but connect from the back. For permanent connections this is great. I don't notice any light bleed.
Great monitor, slightly different than Apple's
February 28, 2016
I wanted to get a monitor that would bring the retina quality screen of my MacBook Pro, to my office desktop. I had an Apple Thunderbolt Display, which looked fuzzy, especially with text, compared to my laptop. So, I decided to get this 27" 4K from Dell, and I am really happy. I think the other reviews do it justice, but there were two things I found I think are worth knowing/noting, which were surprises to me:

1. The monitor does come with an input to hook up external speakers. If you plan to do this, know that your mac will not let you control the volume of the sound with the F11 and F12 keyboard buttons, as it recognizes the screen as similar to a TV. In order to get around this, you have two options. You can download a program named Soundflower that will redirect your computer's output through a software switch, which brings back this functionality, however, Soundflower is not perfect. Sometimes audio will skip or glitch a bit. The other option is to control your volume through the volume sliders on screen.

2. The 4 USB ports are great, however, in order to have these things connected to your computer properly, you must plug in the USB cord that comes with the monitor into your Mac, in addition to the display port connection. Having an Thunderbolt Display before, this was not necessary, so this was a surprise to me. This is not a big deal, but it does mean that you'll be plugging and unplugging two cords to your laptop as you come and go, in addition to a power cord.

Overall, this monitor is fantastic. The stand looks great, and is really sturdy. The screen is retina at around 23" viewing distance, but I can't see any fuzziness at all, even up close. It is like having a retina screen from your macbook, but with a lot more real estate. And at this price, it is definitely worth it if you are thinking of getting one. I am a software developer, and reading code on this monitor is great.

The other thing that surprised me in a good way: I miss on the older MacBooks, how they had a light that would sleep and breathe at night (fading in and out). This monitor, when sleeping, the power button's light breathes at night. Kind of a nice touch.
This thing is without a doubt one of the best purchases I've ever made in my life, with zero regrets.

This thing is without a doubt one of the best purchases I've ever made in my life, with zero regrets.

What I was looking for:
- 4k monitor to complement my aging 24 Inch samsung 1920x1200 TN LCD display
- Mac Retina scaling support
- 60Hz refresh rate for gaming
- IPS color accuracy/vibrancy and wide angle viewing
- decent price
- Good build quality

It delivered on every front with only a few minor annoyances:
- It's absolutely beautiful. Basically like having my retina macbook pro 15, except as a 24 inch screen. I drool every time I open a chrome browser or even my terminal app. I've always dreaded going back from my retina macbook to my desktop, but now I can enjoy the same resolution, except on a giant screen.
- Works perfectly with OS X(Tested on Yosemite). Upon boot up, runs in scaled mode, so windows and objects appear at the size of 1920x1080 resolution, except everything is beautifully rendered at retina resolution. I purposely chose this P2415Q model rather than the 27 inch model because I wanted the pixel perfect match with my 24 inch 1920x1200 monitor. If I had gotten the 27 inch model, it would have had to run at 2550x1400 resolution to match the scaling of my current 24 inch monitor, and I really like having the perfect scaling of 3840x2160 -> 1920x1080, so exactly 4 pixels match to each 1 pixel of the smaller resolution, resulting in zero loss of sharpness
- Verified 60Hz using the included display port cable plugged into my GTX 770 (running a hackintosh)
- Runs DotA 2 beautifully at 4k resolution with 60+FPS with my GTX 770
- Really solid build quality. The bezel is plastic, but definitely an improvement over older dell models. The stand is a mix of apple-like aluminum and aluminum painted plastic. It's not apple quality, but it looks quite like it. Considering you don't touch and handle the stand all day, I think it looks quite good.
- $443 for a 4k IPS display is an absolute steal, prices have dropped drastically over the past few months
- Only nitpick is that there's an anti-gloss coating applied to the screen, which gives off a weird sheen when viewed off center. This sheen can make colors look a little greyish when the screen is viewed from above or the sides, and a picture professional would probably find this unacceptable. I barely notice it though. I would have preferred the semi-gloss coating that Apple uses, which doesn't grey out the colors.

Would highly recommend.
The Best 4K Monitor in this Price Range -- Plug and Play with 2015 Macbook Series Computers -- Retina Quality Display
April 30, 2015
Image Quality: 10/10
Ease of Set Up: 10/10
Value for Money: 10/10

I recently purchased a 2015 Macbook Pro 13 w/ Retina Display and was so overwhelmed by the color and text quality that I decided I needed to upgrade my desktop monitor as well. I wanted something that was plug-and-play using a display-port cable, and ultimately I chose this monitor for these reasons:

1 - the 24" has the highest pixel density for the resolution -- if you go up to 27 or 28" you will get excellent resolution but not as crisp text
2 - the color testing by Dell provides 99% accuracy -- my side by side photos enclosed show the color accuracy
3 - I wanted expansion capabilities in the back of the monitor -- the 4 x USB SuperSpeed (3.0) ports come in handy on my desktop
4 - the base is extremely stable -- no wobble
5 - the monitor does not crash/fail to wake up when the laptop goes to sleep -- *Note* -- I find that if it is slow to wake up after being asleep for a long time simply pressing the menu button above the power button on the face of the display wakes up the monitor immediately
6 - the colors are the SAME as my Macbook side by side, and the text is the same degree of sharpness side by side as well
7 - I am able to use the Dell supplied display-port cable out of the box and plug it into my Thunderbolt port and it auto detects every time. *Note* -- do not use a Thunderbolt cable to your Mac -- it will not detect the monitor. Use the cable supplied by Dell.
8 - The display-port cable provides audio output support, so you can plug your desktop speakers into the Dell Monitor rather than your Macbook and it works perfectly fine. *Note* -- the display-port audio out port disables the audio control on your MAC so you need to use speakers with volume control built in or plug your audio system into your Mac to retain the volume control functionality.
9 - Antiglare is easier on the eyes -- this monitor does not come with the glossy image you see in the Macbook Retina Display which I thought would bother me, but side by side, it is actually EASIER to work in Photoshop without the glossy image than with it.

I don't know how else to describe it except to say once you buy this monitor you will throw your Apple Cinema Display in the garbage. Plug and play out of the box with my Macbook Pro 13, no support issues, no video card issues,
Great Monitor For a Photographer/Casual Gamer!
March 19, 2015
I am running this on my older i7-970/X58 platform computer with newer GTX 970 video card. I run this along side my ASUS PB278Q with NO issues. 60Hz was plug and play with no tinkering (Display port). No dead pixels, no back light bleeding or weird color shifts on the panel. I have also calibrated this with my Spyder 4 Elite. Both my ASUS PB278Q and new Dell P2715Q match PERFECTLY now :) Couldn't be happier!

About 2 years ago when I got my first 27 inch 1440p monitor, I went for the Dell U2713HM. I had to RMA THREE Dell U2713HM before going with the ASUS PB278Q. Happy with my ASUS PB278Q! I was a little scared about getting another Dell, but this P2715Q was a winner the first time around!

I run both monitors at 125% text scaling on Windows 8.1.

UPDATE: as of 6/24/15, I am still having a very good experience with this monitor!

Excellent monitor! Note 1920 X 1080 MAX resolution tho' ...
March 10, 2016
First and foremost, thanks to the reviewer "Sliph" for his excellent input and which caused me to order the 31.5" monitor 'especially' since I see that just a day after I ordered it and with free Prime shipping, the same monitor jumped in price some $90! Sliph, I owe you!Now to business. I bought the 31.5" Samsung monitor [although everywhere, even on the shipping box, it says ==32"==] primarily for my long term [over 20+ years] flight simulation hobby. I was not disappointed in the results. Keep in mind tho' that the lower prices you see on this large 31.5" monitor [as compared to various others of this size or even larger] is that the ==MAX RESOLUTION== is 1920 X 1080. It does NOT get any higher than that [and regardless of what your video card can produce since even the best of the higher end video cards can only produce resolutions that your ==monitor== is capable of having on-board!] and those that do have higher resolutions above 1920 X 1080 are much heftier in price. And for flight sim newbies: don't confuse a larger and even much cheaper "TV" big screen with a "monitor" screen that is dedicated for use on a PC!That all said, the 31.5" monitor provides a clear and bright screen and although it is "curved", it's not really something [at least in my experience] that you dramatically notice but it's there and I consider it an enhancement. Tip: Moving it 'closer' to yourself on a curved screen can enhance the curved screen 'immersion" experience. Anyway, I wanted the bigger screen as my flight sim "center" screen v ersus having 3 identical screens with left and right window so-termed "extended views" and while I do use multiple monitors in my flight sim set-up running off of my Nvidia GTX 770 [soon to be the GTX 970], I use the other two monitors with one as a dedicated NAV [navigational] screen using "FSNAV 4.7" for FS9 and the freebie but quite excellent "Plan G" moving map for FSX and the 3rd and smaller monitor for dedicated "engine" system avionics that I can "undock" and move around to any screen within the system or various avionics that of course can be undocked like further tinkering with the built-in FSX Garmin NAV GPS system. Tip: See the Jan/Feb 2016 issue of the excellent UK publication, "PC Pilot", and the excellent write-up of the built-in FSX Garmin GPS [starts on page 66] and its hidden goodies and advanced user features. Then, undock the Garmin GPS and drag it into a separate monitor screen and it will fill the screen when you enlarge it.I caught a good price break when I ordered it on March 8th [$389.99] with free Amazon Prime shipping so I was very happy about that. No dead pixels and that's the way it should be! This idea that the bigger the screen causes 'normal' or 'expected' dead pixels is total nonsense! You are paying for ==NO== dead pixels, not even one, and if there is, you should return it for an exchange! Just my own opinion on that one. You can tinker with the monitor 'jogger" located on the back of the monitor on the lower right side and the recommendation [by reviewer Sliph] was to choose "Dynamic Contrast" over game mode and then adjust your high end video card to max vibrance . A HDMI "high speed" cable is ==included== with the monitor! The consensus at YouTube seems to be that the HDMI cable is just as good as the DP [Display Port] cable while again keeping in mind that this particular monitor can not exceed 1920 X 1080 resolution so DP cable "bandwidth issues" would [supposedly] not even be a factor in this particular monitor since it can't exceed 1920 X 1080 resolution. So too, the 31.5" monitor DOES NOT have any "stereo speakers" -- it has ==NO== speakers nor any input for them!It works well with Windows 10 64 bit Pro [the driver is not needed since the max 1920 X 1080 is neatly handled with Microsoft -- the only thing a driver is going to do is give a brand name to the monitor vs seeing "generic PnP monitor" in the device manager], so to repeat, it works well with Windows 10 Pro 64 bit version which I am using on a freebie Microsoft update from my previous Windows 7 64 bit Pro. One BIG tip I'll give to "flight simmers" or 'any' game players who must use drivers, if you go for the freebie Windows 10 upgrade -- run virtually everything in Win 10 in the Administrator mode! Yes, when you update, all your old programs will be carried over, true enough, but I found that various flight sim drivers for stuff like the Saitek panels [I have all of them including the FIP and BIP which require separate drivers from the 3 'panel' panel boxes which all run off of a single driver or even Pete Dowson's ==VERY== important and required FSUIPC program, run all those programs when and if you migrate to Win 10 [Home =or= Pro version] in ==Administrator== mode and save much grief!Something else too, let Win 10 'find' your high-end video card driver and it will do just that within a half-hour and without hassles and automatically. Trust me on that one. Win 10 does all the leg work 'for' you and will actually retrieve the correct AND Windows 10 compliant Nividia driver [I use Nvidia only as an example if you're in fact using a Nvidia video card] you need and automatically change over from its initial Win 10 Microsoft generic driver to the specific driver [and brand name video card you have] you need and that will work in Win 10. Admin mode is the key due to Win 10 highly increased security issues. BTW, the Win 10 online freebie upgrade from the Microsoft website is a SLOW process [hours!] so be prepared for that if you migrate into the new Windows 10.So, I'm well satisfied with the monitor and of course the larger area for various "flights" is always a plus and with good clarity and 'no' loss of any clarity near the curved part of the monitor which really is not 'that' noticeable but there are no negatives and everything is pleasing to the eye only bigger and thus more "immersive" by its very larger nature and the curved screen enhancement. BTW, and just an aside, for flight simming, any higher than 1920 X 1080 that in fact more expensive monitors can offer may not even be advisable without flight sim distortion and keeping in mind that the flight sim program 'itself' is going to have visual resolution limitations. Let's face it, as good as FS9 and FSX are in the flight sim community, they are in fact older programs! On the other hand, if you want a bigger 'center' screen and not go broke in the process and can settle for 1920 X 1080 max resolution but where the 1080p assured the high def pic quality, this is it! Enjoy!Doc Tony

Samsung 27-Inch Curved LED-Lit Monitor
July 18, 2015
01/12/2016 UpdateAmazon contacted me within an hour of writing my last updated review. An hour! While Samsung would not honor their warranty, Amazon took ownership of the problem and DID honor the warranty! Customer support and consumer to business relationships don't get any better than this. I truly thought I was out of luck but Amazon came through with flying colors! WAY-TO-GO AMAZON! A++Monitor died on 12/31/2015. 14 months after purchase.Amazon states manufacture warranty as 3 year.Samsung states warranty is only 1 year.Very frustrating 'he said' 'they said' issue.Great monitor for my 2014 MBP. I'm not as excited about the curved display as I was when ordering this flat panel. The curved display doesn't add or subtract from my viewing experience one way or another. I am a computer programmer and stare at this display for many many long hours and would definitely recommend.
Oooh curve...
June 1, 2015
Let me start out by saying that this is my first external monitor purchase. I have been working for three years on a small 13" MacBook Pro. I finally caved due to the lack of workspace.Down to the goodies:THE CURVE--Personally, I absolutely love it. It's very subtle, but is definitely there. I believe that if they made it stronger it probably would have ruined the design as it is not as wide as some of the larger screens. However, I have been using it for about a week and I can honestly say, once in a while I'll notice it and I can't help but break out into a little smile because of how happy I am to own this beaut.PICTURE QUALITY--Although I'm kind of a rookie with screens I'd like to say I'm nitpicky about electronics and technology. I also do a lot of photography so high quality hardware and images get me excited. The picture quality of the screen is beautiful. It is clear, has nice contrast and has very nice colors. I have started using it as my main monitor and would rather work at the desk than roam with my laptop.CONS--Now I want another. I was lucky and unlucky enough to have a few dead pixels on the screen when it arrived but Amazon sorted me out incredibly fast. As a result I got to test two side by side for a day and now I don't even want to give the broken one back. I'll most likely be buying another soon!
I'm glad my dog didn't dial 911
March 12, 2015
I ordered one of these monitors and thought this is great. I then ordered another one and woke up minutes later to my dog licking my face. It seems I had passed out from being overwhelmed by the awesomeness of these monitors. The curve is a truly immersive experience not for the faint of heart. Recommend!
Good monitor for the price
February 6, 2015
Good monitor for the price. Using this as a PC monitor i had to fiddle with settings to get it to look just right. Using an nvidia card i found that the best image quality was produced by not using game mode on the monitor but instead using "Dynamic Contrast" and then in nvidia setting turning digital vibrance to 100% and BAM everything looks amazing. The curve is definitely noticeable and after getting used to it i can see it being very hard for me going back to a flat panel ever again. Not to mention my comp setup looks pretty darned amazing now. Would purchase again and if i had room would purchase 3 for surround setup.

I'm very satisfied with the performance after about a year
January 11, 2017
I'll make it short and simple not to repeat what others have wrote. I'm very satisfied with the performance after about a year. The color representation is good. The bleeding is in line with most IPS panels and not bothersome. It's plenty bright. I use it for gaming (Overwatch, WoW, Dota2, SC2, CSS) and some photography work. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that now that I've upgraded my rig to one that can pump out 4k @60Hz over HDMI, I realized that the HDMI port on the monitor is 1.4, and not 2.0 (which had been out for a while when this monitor was released) which supports 4k @60Hz. Why would you include a port (the most popular port) on a 4k screen that can't handle the native resolution at standard refresh rate?
Great Monitor BAD Cables
April 20, 2016
OK, these are great monitors. The resolution is outstanding. I did not give it 5 stars for one key reason. DP to Mini DP cables that came with it appear to be problematic. I have a 2015 Macbook 13". I was having problems discounting the laptop from the monitors and reconnecting them. I would get a black screen on both (I have two) as well as on the macbook. Doing a little research, I came across others that were having this issue and purchased a different cable. I took a chance and ordered two:
Accell B143B-003J UltraAV Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 Cable with Latch, White, 3.3-Feet

This solved my issue. No more problems. I still can't daisy change them but that appears to be an Apple issue. So NEXT TIME DELL ... if there is a next time, include better cables. Also, I am use to the high gloss apple products. These matte screens aren't as nice but don't suffer glare ... there it is.

Enjoy!
DISPLAYPORT ONLY OR GO ELSEWHERE
April 9, 2016
listen up folks, this is important. You are wasting your money if you buy this intending to use HDMI. It will work in 4k but only at 30hrz. over DP it works great and looks great.

one thing i learned that nobody ever told me is that a lot of new laptops are coming with the thunderbolt 3 port (aka USB-C) which is an awesome port that does jillion awesome things, but it is really awesome because it has a superfast connection to your processor. as a result, if youre using it to power a DP connection, it appears that the video rendering will be done on the processor's graphics set, and wont use your dedicated video card. so if youre like me, and you spent a lot of money on a 980M, youll be using your laptop screen for any gaming.

Somebody help me out, am i wrong? i cannot find any documentation on this anywhere.
Great for anything other than gaming.
October 22, 2015
This screen is beautiful and crisp. Compared to my other IPS screens (24" Dells), it's just as good, though the screen does seem to be a tiny bit yellow by comparison. There are tons of options, and Dell even calibrates the color right out of the factory (be sure to select the Standard preset). I would definitely recommend this monitor if you're using it primarily for internet browsing, professional video/photo editing, everyday use, and some very light gaming.

Gaming is where this monitor falls short though. Even with 6ms GTG, there is a very noticable amount of motion blur in games. It wouldn't be so bad if the screen was smaller, but the screen size makes it all so obvious and in your face. If you're in the market for a gaming 4K IPS screen and can live with motion blur, give this screen a try. If you're like me and need a smooth and crisp gaming experience, get something else.
Good value if you are looking for a no-frills 27" display with good image quality.
October 5, 2015
I bought this monitor for my home workstation which I share on occasion with my wife. We both have a 13" 2015 mac book pro and I wanted a large quality high res display that we both could use when needed to work on projects (mostly obscenely large spreadsheets or design work) that require a larger screen at eye level. My goal was to have a work station that we could both use seamlessly (the least cables going to our laptops the better). As a note, I live in a small apartment and hate clutter. Since the work station sits in my living room, design was as much a factor for me as ease of use, construction and image quality.

Overall: Good value if you are looking for a no-frills 27" display with good image quality and nothing else. For superior image quality and features look for higher-priced options.

I own both PCs and Macs. So I'm not necessarily an apple fanatic. However, if you are buying this display to use with a mac book pro as I did, you may want to stick to the Thunderbolt (unless you work on any particular task that requires a 4k resolution). IMO the seamless integration of the Thunderbolt (combining power, video, audio and peripherals with a single cable) and built in speakers make up for the Thunderbolt's lower resolution (which works just fine for most tasks). I ended up having to also buy a Dell 4k docking station ($160) and external speakers ($90), which takes away from the value, which is the main benefit of this display.

Pros:
-Nice 4k resolution.
-Accurately color calibrated.
-Easy set up with included Display Port or HDMI cable. Plug and Play with my MBP. Both options rendered crisp 4k image quality.
-I enjoy the ability to rotate adjust the height, tilt and rotation of the monitor.
-Solid construction.

On the fence:
-USB and audio port in the back are nice to have for easily connecting peripherals. However, using these USB ports requires you to to connect an additional cable to your laptop in addition to the DP cable (which I'm trying to minimize). Also, I noticed an annoying lag on my wireless mouse (which connects via a small USB thingy) when connected to the monitor ports. So I ended up plugging the mouse back directly to the laptop USB ports.
-The design isn't bad, but it isn't good either. For the frame and base they used a "brushed aluminum" plastic veneer that looks good from afar but looks and feels plasticky once you are closer to the desk. I wish they would have gone with the real thing. Also, the back of the display is just a big black light-sucking plastic rectangle. So it will not look nice if you are going to have the back of the display "displayed" (as opposed to placed against a wall).

Cons
-The display doesn't stay leveled on a horizontal position. Instead it tends to tilt slightly to the side as if it was a loose and heavier on right side. This may not be a big deal for some people, but it drives me crazy looking at slightly tilted screen (and therefore slightly tilted spreadsheets and web browsers) for hours. It may be only a few degrees, but the large size of the display accentuates this problem. I couldn't find a way to tighten the rotating parts so I solved it by placing a piece of folded paper underneath the right side of the base. This is too bad as the base/pedestal was very sturdy and stable. It is not so stable after I placed the paper (but at least it is now leveled)
-Black levels could be darker (I know it is an issue with the technology rather than the specific monitor, but still...)
-No speakers. I really don't need loud, premium speakers. But a small set of speakers for me to listen to computer sounds or the occasional Youtube video would have been nice. I have to keep an external set of speakers cluttering my desktop.

Excellent Monitor and Vendor.
June 29, 2016
Excellent vendor, shipped quickly and arrived ahead of schedule with No Tax and No Freight cost. Excellent monitor, I'm a tech guy and use my PC for work, internet, general computing and FPS gaming. Once I tweaked the monitor and video card settings, the monitor has excellent picture quality, color that pops, text that is well defined and easy to read. The semi-gloss screen offers almost no glare or reflection. When you're as close to the screen as a PC requires, the curve is cool too. Games seem to draw you in and on the large screen it's easier to scan the text and images you're reading or looking for.I've read a few people complain about the rez being to low. I would disagree, 1920x1080 (2k) looks great on a screen this size. Icons and text are large, clear and easy to read with lots of room for multiple windows. Gaming graphics, photos and videos are very detailed with great response time (4ms) and awesome color. Having said that, I would like to see Samsung offer a 3k version of this monitor. It's something I would have considered depending on the price. (In my opinion and use, 4k would be too dense for a monitor this size). Why only 4 stars? In a monitor at this price range, I would like to have seen a few more features. A DVI connection and at least 2 USB ports in back for connecting stuff like a webcam, etc. A couple USB ports on the side would be nice too. Easy access for a thumb drive, digital camera or phone, etc. (My PC is on the floor behind me so I ended up running a long USB cable and 4 port hub to the desk). While it does offer some tilt, a little vertical height adjustment and swivel in the base would have been nice too. My 24" monitor had all of these very useful features. The bottom line is if you're looking for large desktop monitor with an excellent display, you won't go wrong with this Samsung 32".
Solid Monitor Probably Not Worth Price
June 23, 2016
Pros: crisp pictureplay a lot of SWTOR on it full res w/o problemsspeakers are much better than I expected. I'm happy to use them when I don't have the 7.1 headphones on.Cons: controls are via a "toggle" button on the BACK of the monitor. that's frustrating, especially since I have two of them side-by-side. you have to actually stand behind one of them to make adjustments.heavy compared to non-curved monitors with same specsOther Thoughts: the only advantage to this monitor over others that are similarly as good (but $100 less expensive) is the curve. the curve is cool. but it's not worth an extra $100-$150. the resolution is only 1920x1080. the monitors don't support 3D (something I find that curved displays enhance). these are good monitors. but you're not getting bang for the buck from them.my system: win8.1 pro; amd fx-8350-8 core 4.01ghz cpu; asus sabertooth 990FX R2.0 mb, 32g ddr3 ram; samsung 1tb ssd (sata3); sapphire nitro radeon r9 390 8g 512-bit gddr5 pcie3 gfx.I tried the eyefinity thing combining the monitors for a wrap around effect. it's cool, but the bezel is something you have to get used to, and I prefer to play in windowed full screen mode so I can browse or whatever without alt-tabbing. thus, I don't make much use of the combined desktop. but it is pretty cool to line up two of them. I thought about 3 side-by-side, but I'm glad I didnt go that route. at 27" (diagonally) they take up a ton or room. the curvature does nothing to reduce that actual width of the monitor. so if you're thinking about 3 of them for a better "wrap around" or VR effect, I would caution you to think about smaller monitors such as 24" or even 22".
Very nice display at a good price point
January 8, 2016
I upgraded from a 1080P Dell monitor. I always thought my Dell monitor was a nice display. As soon as I booted up my PC, (even with the default settings), I could tell a huge improvement with the Samsung. Unfortunately at the moment my video card does not support anything over 1080P resolution, but even at that the display is much more crisp and colors appear more vibrant. My first thought when I started using my computer was: "My God what have I done? This is too huge." But after using it for a few days I have grown accustomed to the size and now really like the additional real estate on the screen. As with almost all monitors and TVs the default settings are not very good. I ended up with the following settings:• Brightness 42• Contrast 70• Sharpness 60• R 46• G 48• B 50• Gamma Mode 2• Response Time Faster• NVIDIA control panel Gamma 0.96Please note that setting up your monitor is highly subjective so the above may or may not be suitable for you.I took off a star because the monitor sits a little too high for me. (About 2" too high).
No DVI Connections
December 24, 2015
My monitors arrived and I was so excited. Opened the boxes and started to plan out my install only to notice that they connect by Display port, HDMI, and VGA???? Where are the DVI connectors. Almost all of the high end video cards come with at least 1 or 2 DVI connections!. So here I go, back to the electronics store to find cables and adaptors. Finally got all three connected and turned them on. Picture quality is great. Very bright. Had to turn down the brightness to 50. Game mode looks beautiful on games only but not for text. Had to turn off Game Mode to read email correctly. You do not notice the curve but it is there. All in all they are nice.
Great picture, wimpy stand.
December 10, 2015
The monitor is beautiful to look at, but there are two things that I don't like. The stand that it sits on is flimsy. I don't like my monitor to wobble. If you touch the monitor at all, it will wobble. Normally people don't go around touching their monitors...but sometimes it happens. I think that Samsung "chinced" out on the stand. Also, it says that the monitor stands 17 inches tall. It actually stands 18 inches. I had made sure that I ordered a monitor that was under 18 inches because it needed to sit under my counter. So the monitor won't fit without some kind of modification. Super annoying. Other than that, I love the picture. I also love that it is VESA mountable. I was able to mount my little brick hard drive to the back perfectly.
Beautiful but Possible Panel Issue
July 23, 2015
Switching from a 27" 1080 LG, I was a nervous on the pixel density. This is minor as text is easily read but I had to turn Clear Text and adjust sharpness settings to my liking. The only time the pixel density had low distortion was on internet ads when web browsing; most where a touch blurry but that was all I could find wrong with the pixel pitch. I wanted a monitor that does gaming, productivity and multimedia and this seemed to be a great balance as it has great picture quality, deep blacks, minimal backlight bleed and input lag. Performance wise, it was a pleasure doing spreedsheets, editing, and movies on this display. The deal breaker was an odd flickering on the edges; quite noticeable on dark screens across all channels (DisplayPort v1.2, HDMI 1 & 2) on any device I plugged, especially on the left side of the screen. I did the usual trouble shoot (checked cables, swapped cables, checked drivers, software, adjusted settings, plugged in other laptops and desktops, etc.). I sent in for a replacement and unfortunately the second unit showed the same symptoms immediately without any tweaks. Frustrating as I searched forums and initially thought it my hardware (desktop is GTX 780) but found no solution; perhaps a VA panel issue. The curve itself works in appeal and in some aspect of comfort. I was trying to vet out whether it was a placebo effect on eye comfort but found it natural as this product was originally marketed. As for PC gaming, I quite enjoyed Project Cars, Batman Arkham Knight, Crysis 3, BF4 on this display. Would have easily kept this beautiful display if it wasn't for the strange flicker. It was too distracting in the end. Thanks to Amazon for great and speedy service. Just docking it one star for this unfortunate experience that leaves me looking for the 32" display that hits the criteria I'm looking for.

Great specs, good price, bland product.
June 22, 2017
I was very excited for this display, but unfortunately had to return it. The pixel density was exactly what I was looking for (because I'm very used to retina screens from Apple) however the screen quality left something to be desired. It's not very bright and it had these weird, faint horizontal lines visible in the center portion of the screen. Beyond the screen, the materials and design are rather bland. It's a good price, but they should improve the product and charge a bit more. I ended up buying a slightly more expensive display from LG and it was much, much better.
Good Price
June 1, 2017
Everything works OK but Retina display isn't as sharp and clear as Apple's Retina displays. Good price.
Quality issue of rev A04
May 4, 2017
I bought my 1st Dell P2415Q on 2/4/2017 and I got rev A03, good stuff. Then I got 2nd one on 5/4/2017 and I got rev A04. When I compare both apple-to-apple using the same video card, the color and text shape of the latter rev are not comfortable in my eyes and I got dizzy. I switched the video port just to confirm it is not video card issue, still same discomfort from rev A04. Dell certainly has quality issue here, for the expensive more than $300 monitor I expect better quality product. Hence, I need to return.
Returning because of blacklight bleed and ipa glow
April 7, 2017
Bought this as a secondary monitor to watch movies on and play a couple games in 4k.
Unfortunately it has TERRIBLE backlight bleed and up a glow. Any movie with letterboxing or dark scenes looks terrible and washed out. And any video games with dark scenes are the same.
Returning and gonna pick up a tn panel because of much rather have slightly less vibrant colors than terrible contrast/ black levels.

Pictures taken in fairly lit room

Apparently most ips screens have these flaws so I'm not gonna give it a worse review

Pros: great color accuracy very vibrant
Great price
Pixel density is very sharp
Cons: terrible ips glow / backlight bleed
Not a bad monitor but a few issues.
November 10, 2016
Decent monitor but does have some issues. I have two of these and two of P2715Q as well. I work with DsiplayPort echnology so have some insights that may be helpful.
First, a word about DisplayPort cables. There are many in the market that do not follow the DisplayPort Standard because they carry the DP_PWR signal, which is provided at the connector to power adapters. If you can turn on your PC and Monitor and then connect the cable and it works, but cannot get one or the other to wake from sleep or power back on, you may have a bad cable. You can tell by unplugging the DP cable see that the device will wake or power on.
The monitor itself operates in three modes. Use the on-screen display (OSD) menu to navigate to Display. In those settings there is an option for MST (DisplayPort Multisream technology). MST is the feature that allows you connect these monitors in daisy-chain.
If MST mode Off, the monitor operates as 4k, 60Hz refresh.
In MST Mode Primary, the MST feature is turned on and the monitor operates at 4K 30 Hz refresh. That's because at 4k 60Hz, it uses up all of the DisplayPort bandwidth so a device connected to the DP Out port would not work.
In MST Mode Secondary, the monitor disables MST, declares itself to be "DP 1.1" and sets its resolution to 4k 30Hz. This is "compatible mode" and is default (out of box).
By the way, most Apple laptops do not support MST.
Regarding sleep/wake issues, this can be caused by an issue with monitor firmware. In MST mode, I've observed that the Hot Plug Detect (HPD) signal that the source (computer) uses to detect the monitor is connected is not always sent correctly by the monitor. It doesn't fail all the time and does not seem to affect MST Off or Secondary modes. I do a lot of sleep/wake testing with various sources and I only see failure to wake occasionally but often in MST mode with another monitor attached downstream.
I've spoken with the company that makes the DP chip and they fixed the issue but firmware updates for monitors in the field are not available.
If you aren't using MST mode, turn it off. If you think the image quality is not up to par, check to see if using Secondary mode and try MST Off instead.

Great quality screen
March 21, 2017
Great quality screen. Reason for only 3 stars: Controllers are hidden in the back and no separate remote for volume.
Pricey.
May 14, 2016
I'm thankful that they offer such a large screen, buuuuuut...1080p without 144Hz is a gigantic disappointment, all the instructions were in a different language (not that you need it), and the price is a little too high for me. Just find a 2k 144Hz monitor and pay an extra hundred or so instead.
Good for looking pretty, but not good for FPS gaming.
April 29, 2016
It looks neat, but the missing DVI really throws me off. The refresh rate is a bit off. As an FPS gamer, this is noticable and affects my accuracy, even with the driver update. In WoW the graphics are vivid and gorgeous, but if you're looking for a monitor for FPS gaming don't pick this one.Why would there be a dpi and hdmi and a vga but no DVI? It's my largest complaint. The curved monitor also doesn't seem to agree well with some graphic cards I have. I've used a 660 TI super clocked with a 750 TI, a 650 TI and a 750 TI combo and even used it on a ps4, but for some reason the refresh rate is off no matter what. I had to use an external program to force it the refresh rate.

The video quality could be better, I would recommend getting a different product.
Its ok
September 29, 2015
The Monitor size is great, the curve is subtle but when working in front of it you'll be lucky to even notice it. I had a power whining noise from the monitor when on. I work in a relatively quiet office and could hear it consistently and drove me insane. I also found the resolution to not be enough working from a MacBook Pro, I work closely to the screen and just wasn't happy. I ended up buying a 4K monitor instead.I loved the white and overall look but if you working close it just doesn't seem sharp enough. I had to return mostly due to the noise.

Defective - Couldn't stay connected to MacBook
November 23, 2016
Failed to keep a good connection to my 2016 MacBook 12" Retina. Required restarts and plugging in, but still did not work well. And yes, I did go through the process of enabling 60 Hz 4K on the MacBook, but it still didn't work. The next monitor we bought (Samsung) worked perfectly.
Meh
November 12, 2015
I got this monitor in August, and it has already started to fail. I've seen dead pixels, and the monitor blinks out for seconds at a time. Swapped out for a different monitor to test whether the issue stems from the cable or video card, and the problem seems localized to the monitor. Boo.
DisplayPort Disconnects in Power Save Mode
November 6, 2015
This is an really beautiful monitor and my first try at 4k. Aside from Window 10 having rather abysmal options at UI scaling, this monitor was beautiful, crisp, and very light compared to my other monitors. I am however giving it two stars for one really serious issue that Dell doesn't seem too anxious to address or even acknowledge. When using DisplayPort, which is the only connection available if you want to hit 60hz refresh at 4k, the display will disconnect from the computer when the display goes to sleep. This has been mentioned by other reviewers and I didn't find these until i had already ordered and tried the monitor. I have plenty of Dell monitors connected via DisplayPort that don't suffer from this issue, but there doesn't seem to be any way around it with this display. The monitor revision I received from Amazon was A02, this issue is still present even after the first revision. Perhaps dell will address this in a future revision, which would be great since this really is a perfect display for the price. Normally I wouldn't be too bothered by windows resizing themselves, but Windows 10 also disables its display calibration luts when this happens, requiring a restart to get my X-Rite color calibration to kick back in. This was unbelievably frustrating, and was definitely a deal breaker for me.So buyers beware, if this is a deal breaker for you, this monitor will likely be an issue.
Good screen, but low-quality stand and frustrations with power-saving mode
September 14, 2015
I've had this monitor for a few months now and wanted to give an honest review. The monitor screen quality is very nice; sharp, and things are very detailed if your computer supports 4K resolutions (some older ones do not). However, my complaints are more about the secondary items on the monitor instead of the screen itself. The monitor rotates from portrait to landscape mode, but it doesn't sit flat when it's in the default landscape mode. It is slightly tilted to the right, and there's nothing I can do to fix it. They should lock the rotation a little more so that it sticks instead of being so free-floating. It wouldn't cost much to put in a proper locking mechanism. Also, the monitor constantly goes into power-saving mode and I frequently have to unplug the power cable and plug it back in to get the monitor to respond. I have it connected to a Macbook Air usually as an external monitor, and if I walk away and come back an hour later, the monitor will still be powered on but the screen will be blank and no matter how much I touch the keyboard/mouse, the monitor will not respond. My solution is to always turn the monitor off so that it won't go into power-saving mode, but this is annoying. When I turn the monitor off and come back a while later, I frequently have issues where it takes several times for it to respond to my keyboard/mouse. The monitor usually gives me the black/white fuzzy screen (like a TV channel you don't get) for several seconds until it realizes it's connected to a laptop and goes back to normal. These issues are what lead me to give this monitor a 2/5 review. The screen quality is good and I enjoy it, but the peripherals are such that I cannot recommend this monitor to anyone else until they are changed. If I could return the monitor, I would be greatly tempted to do so, and buy another monitor that solved these problems, even if it was more expensive. I toyed with the idea of a Mac Monitor, but those cost $1,000 and are getting pretty old. But those Mac Monitors don't have the annoying problems this Dell did.
Good monitor, crappy DP/mDP ports
August 16, 2015
This monitor looks great, has a good footprint on the desk, is brights, and takes input. But I have had it for just over 2 months and the display port and mini display port stopped working. It happened all of the sudden - I turned the monitor off and realized I had one thing left to do so immediately turned it back on. The monitor wouldn't come out of sleep mode, as if there was no input. Not the cable (tried 2 cables), not the computer (tried desktop and laptop). Never get signal into either the DP or mDP. Fortunately the HDMI works so the computer is usable.UPDATE: This becomes an on-again, off again issue. I had the Display Ports working after a few weeks of not. Then it started to flake again, requiring repeated plug/unplug. Now it won't work in DP at all.
Major sleep issues when using DisplayPort
August 6, 2015
Be careful ordering this monitor, as they have some serious issues resuming from sleep while using DisplayPort cables. I've tried both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, and these monitors often do not wake up unless you cycle power on them. I've also seen them completely freeze, where the power button does not work - forcing you to unplug them and plug them back in. I've read many threads where others are having this same issue, so do some searching online.

I wanted to like this monitor
July 10, 2016
I wanted to like this monitor, however, due to its size and resolution, text is blurry and picture quality not so great. I had to return it after a few days.
No power button? What's up with that!
April 6, 2016
This is the first monitor I've had without a power button. Yes you can turn it off by reaching behind the monitor and using the joystick to navigate the menu but who wants to do that? Am I the only person who would like a hard power button? Maybe I'm the only person who hasn't found a hard power button yet?Other than that, the premium for this monitor is for the curve which is not even noticeable. I used it on my computer for a day before putting it on my wife's computer and ordering dual 27" higher res monitors for me.Overall the curve isn't enough to justify the higher price tag of this monitor compared to other same-resolution 27" monitors.
Low resolution
March 9, 2016
For it's size the maximum resolution is sub par, I returned this for the 34" UW resolution and am glad I did. Overall this is a Samsung and a solid monitor with lots of nice options, but as I needed better resolution for the work that I do.
1 of 3 good so far, 2 of 3 defective
February 13, 2016
I''m 1 for 3 in buying. I bought 2 for dual screen use. Love them when they work, but I am 1 for 3 so far (ordering 4th) as 2 of the 3 have gone defective in first few weeks of use and I have had to return. Thank goodness for Amazon return policies...
Above average but not worth the price
July 28, 2015
Above average. Screen is large 23.6, has a slight barely noticeable curve not noticeable when looking straight on. Resolution was average at best. This is an ok monitor, several others which are non-curved, same size and $50-$100 less in price. I was extremely excited to try out this monitor as I initially thought the price wasn't bad. Once I had it installed, I was clearly not impressed, I would rather go back to my 19" Dell LED monitor. I really wouldn't recommend purchasing this exact model. I will try HDMI connection to see if the output gets any better.
Curve is nice, but the rest disappoints
December 3, 2014
First the curve may not really be noticeable to most people therefore is probably not worth the cost, but if you give it a good 10 min of looking and playing on it, you do start to notice the curve in a good way. I look at regular monitors now and it feels weird. The curve is probably the only good thing about it, well I guess the color reproduction is pretty good (I'm typically pretty picky about color - but I think IPS is a better than this VA and still and my old glossy TN monitor shows blacks better).I am a glossy screen person and this is just not for me being that is matte. I was hoping for something different as I've seen some really nice matte finishes in the high end Dells and Acers and this monitor just falls flat. I haven't experienced other monitors at 27" 1080p, but this one just is so pixilated that it drives me nuts in dark parts of the game - I watched the FFXIV trailer in 1080p and it was awful. Then I went to BF4, not much better, but some b/c it isn't as dark. I did a custom setting for color and tried the game mode which makes all the colors super intense, which looked okay, but you have to toggle it on and off b/c when not in games your text on anything else is super fuzzy like you've set it to the wrong resolution. I don't want to have to toggle stuff all day. I played some Dragon Age Inquisition and that looked fine, but for viewing experiences it just wasn't what I was expecting for the money I dropped on it ($329) and I am returning it today. I am sticking to 27" at 1440p.My boyfriend, who prefers matte over glossy, was really enjoying it at first, but then when the game trailers started to play he started hesitating too about keeping it. We both were trying hard to like it, you shouldn't be getting a brand new fun monitor and not be thrilled by it, that is just no fun.And for those who might be curious, I run a custom build computer with a gtx 660ti (putting in my 980 shortly) but my old HP w2338h looks superior in color and crispness. Too bad as I was going to run these in dual setup. :(

Arrived and worked fine until I tried to use the display port inputs and they didn't work at all, tried multiple computers none of them worked. Returned and went with an Asus version instead which works great.
but it sucked to try and get it fixed/replaced
November 5, 2015
Monitor started flickering in less than 90 days, then mDP port went dead. HDMI input still worked but it was flickering as well. Even in diagnostic mode the monitor flickered. Not sure what failed in the monitor, but it sucked to try and get it fixed/replaced. I had to work with Dell to get an exchange. The seller on Amazon named Firemall LLC was no help in facilitating a proof of purchase with Dell (which Dell required). I will not purchase anything from this seller again. Stay away from this Seller: http://www.amazon.com/shops/A9VBWN1Q1U6E6
A great product with terrible flaw.
September 25, 2015
A great product with terrible flaw.Well, it is fascinating how great technology and bad quality testing can result in such great and, at the same time, terrible product.Picture quality is unremarkable. Refresh rate (60HZ) when you have a Display Port and good video card is great. Size is great. Why I gave it 1 star?I bought two monitors and both have the same issue -- firmware (or mixture of hardware and software) is faulty. Once in a while (usually on a weekly basis) monitor becomes unresponsive and I have to physically go to the back of the monitor and disconnect/reconnect the power cable. Also, this unresponsiveness can happen when you connect a new video source, or when computer is going to the sleep mode. Monitor just 'hangs' - nothing can be done and the only solution is to power cycle the unit. It is painful for me because I have to walk around the table and it is hard to get there. Also, the back cover needs to be taken off to access the power connector. Is it normal? No.Would I buy this product knowing that I have to do this for many years? No.I called Dell and they told me that this is totally normal. After hours of screaming/arguing they sent me two replacements. I got them today (sent refurbished units instead). Good news? NO! Same issue! Then I checked other reviews -- many other users report the same issue- it does not wake up from the sleep!I would recommend to buy something else (considering the hefty price tag) or wait for another improved model, that has this issue fixed.Unfortunately I can't return it, it is past 30 days with Amazon.
UPDATE: Avoid this monitor. Displayport problems.
May 15, 2015
UPDATE: Tried to use this monitor (V. 01 firmware) on a PC and there is a KNOWN Displayport problem. Google it and you will see many frustrated customers. Sadly, I was leery that it was a Dell, since I have had MANY bad experiences. This is my last Dell for sure.

Pretty disappointed considering I really like the size
June 23, 2017
Shortly after purchasing this monitor, the screen would flicker off for about 1 second. Occasionally this was a associated with a "hiss" heard through my speakers. This would happen infrequently and I ignored it. As it began to happen more frequently, I changed out the HDMI cable, updated my monitor driver. No luck. Once the issue got to the point of happening repeatedly, I switched back to my 23 inch LG monitor and issue went away. Pretty disappointed considering I really like the size, color and resolution of the curved monitor.
