i use this at my desk for throw-away notes and it comes in handy like crazy. just push the button to clear. if youre not taking notes hand it to your child to play with so you can actually get some work done lol. cool colors and long lasting note pad even with heavy pressers....think of all the money youll save on notebooks and all the things you wont forget. just wish it was a little bit bigger.

Love it! I've read reviews where the erase stopped working after a short time, my daughter's used this just about every day over and over and over and it's been 2-3 weeks now and still works great all around! I love this, because on road trips they can doodle and whatever and they are not glued to traditional electronics! More imagination-y, less robot-y!

I bought this to practice writing Chinese characters. I use it almost every day, and it works perfectly. It has been over a year, and the battery hasn't run out. It is also very convenient for writing reminders or doodling.

I've had a boogie board before for my daughter but decided to get one to keep on my desk for those random times I need to write something down. This works well. My daughter's old one was lost ages ago so she steals mine to do her math homework. Instead of using up endless paper, she works things out on here. And it adds an extra layer of fun to something boring. Very recommended.

Customer Service sent me 2 new boards since both failed with in such a short time. Thank You! The new boards are working...My friend received one at the time he had a surgery which took his voice. It was an amazing product and he went through about 5 of them and though they didn't last forever, they lasted a while. Then I purchased 2 boards on Amazon, since the store I purchased them from no longer carried them. They both failed to clear the writing within two days. They are worthless junk and I was extremely disappointed that they did not work like the first ones. Will they ever be good again? I will probably never know, because I will never purchase another one!!!

I purchased many of these for all of my nieces and nephews for Christmas. Not only are each of them crazy about it....from the 2 year old to the 10 year old, but the parents love it as well. Excellent on car rides to entertain the kids, utilize for visual aids with school work, and playing games from hangman to pictionairy. The younger kids were excited saying they have their own ipad now. Fun and inexpensive way to teach the kids to take care of tablets as well.Of note, The blue unit has a stylus/pen holder built into the unit itself. The pink unit, has a clip that comes in the package that fits at the top to hold the stylus/pen. Not sure why there is that slight difference, but be careful not to throw away the clip on the pink unit!

Very happy with this sleeve that I bought one more. I found the boogie boards on sale at my local walmart and bought one out of curiosity. These things are really great! So I bought two more boogie boards with one going to be a gift. I feel better now that the boogie boards at home will be protected when not being used knowing that they could easily be dropped or tossed across the room.

My kids love it and it takes time away from TV and iPad, it’s sturdy, very light weight and slim to carry it in your purse and for the price it makes it even better

I wish we had found these years ago. My son struggles with fine motor skills because he has never taken any interest in writing or drawing on paper. Since I bought these a couple weeks ago, both kids, one who loves to write and draw and another who avoids it, spend lots of time every day drawing and writing. We play tic-tac-toe and pictionary-type games on it. I love that the e-ink is more like paper, so not really "screen time". The price is great, considering handing anything to a young child is risky. I would give it 5 stars, given the value for the price, but one of the magnets came off and had to be re-glued in the first week. This thing is somewhat light-weight and a tad flimsy, to be clear, but I wouldn't expect anything different for $20. Really good value for something that is helpful for childhood development.

It definitely replaced a bunch of "sticky notes" I was using. So far, works well. I would like to see an easier stylus holding clip. Mabe a smaller clip that could be mounted with an option to have it on the end or side. It is a little awkward to pop it it out of the holding slot from the bottom. I did like this board so well I purchased a second for upstairs.

I like the feature of being able to write on my Boogie Board and then "take a picture" of the Boogie Board using the Jot Application. The picture shows up in black and white (black writing on a white background). You can then save the image and share it via text message or email, etc. You can also click the pencil icon at the bottom of the screen and cross out items from your list. The Jot App is nice because you can then use your Boogie Board for a new list without losing your first list.The downside of the Boogie Board is that the lines are not as thin or clear as I would like. They are thicker and more blurry than I wanted. The downside of the Jot App is that you can only choose black "pencil" or yellow "pencil." The yellow does not highlight (see your writings through it), but covers up your writing. I just circle with the yellow to get around this issue.My kids absolutely love playing with the Boogie Board. They were entertained for hours! Tic tac toe, hangman, boxes...they played it all.

My rating is based off the company. We bought this for my daughter's birthday and the very next morning it stopped erasing. I immediately called the company. I had to leave a message for the technical support, which now days means you have to call and follow up with them the next day. Nope! Not this company! I got a call back about 30 minutes later and the tech was super helpful and arranged for a new boogie board to be sent out. Now hopefully this is not something we have to do again, but he assured me that my warranty will last a year. I am a lot more willing for buy from them in the future since their costumer service was so wonderful. (Something i think is sadly rare these days) If you are on the fence about buying one based on the reviews, know that the company is very easy to work with, in my experience and since my kids all like stealing my other daughter's boogie board that we have had for a few weeks with no problem, I see us buying the rest of them (4 total) boogie boards in the future.

Bought this for my 2 year old to play with but only lasted 3 weeks (really only used on the weekends). I was with her every time she played with it and it wasn't handled rough. I now have the same issue as countless others where the screen will no longer clear. I've tried new batteries but that didn't help. Outside of the return policy now so I'm just stuck with it.UPDATE: I contacted support and had a replacement shipped to me. I wasn't aware they have a 1 year manufacturers warranty and were able to replace the board for me. I have to say it was the most painless replacement process I've ever seen so I'm changing my 1 star to 4 stars.

We got one of these at Christmas and it's primary purpose has been scratch paper for math homework. My kids have to use the computer each night to do their math homework, but many times they need to work out the details by hand. I love the Boogie Board for that. You just work out the problem, erase the screen and move on to the next problem. I anticipate that this will save us reams of scratch paper. Unfortunately our Boogie Board quit erasing after less than a month. It was too late to send it back through Amazon, but it was under warranty and I contacted the company and they were easy to deal with and quick to send a replacement. If this one lasts longer, then I would be willing to invest in a second board next year. The kids love them and they are very useful for tasks like this.

The Jot I purchased actually came with a sleeve, but this one is much nicer. The one they include is made of the sort of shredded-and-formed fabric that is used for the liners of kids' snow boots....kind of like felt, dark gray, reminds me a bit of dryer lint :) This sleeve is nice sleek neoprene, the Jot slides in and out more easily and it just looks better. Stitching appears reasonably sturdy. Will revise if there are any problems down the line.

Cannot resolve image beyond 6ft. or so. Display is much dimmer than the photos, but I expected some marketing embellishment. Still a disappointment as I was hoping the newer model would be brighter. Viewing angle and a very brightly lighted room helps some. Works as described and image is retained with no degradation until you press the button.

Good device to take notes etc. but I hope we will have some way to erase specific areas on the screen in future and hope to see little more brightness on the screen.The Jot app for ios as well as android is very very bad. It's very hard to scan the board to create a digital copy of it. The app needs big improvement as without that we can't save copy of the notes taken.

I wanted to like this, but I never use it for the purpose I intended -- taking quick notes at my desk. The thickness of the lines means you can't write as small and therefore can't take as many notes as you can with, say, a ballpoint pen on the same size legal pad. Maybe it would work better on the fridge for leaving notes? But unfortunately the front of my fridge isn't magnetic!

Misleading description on the Boogie Board website meant to trick people. It says they have a mobile app to capture the image from the device. I mistook that to mean they had added the ability to sync up with a computer, presumably via USB or bluetooth. Its totally not true. All their app does it take a picture. I was initially very upset at the missing function, but the app works better than I expected. It also works with the original Boogie Board that I already had from years ago so I arguably didn't need to buy a new one at all to get this level of "capture" function.The new model is very similar to the original. I little brighter, maybe, and has magnets in the back. The erase button isn't sealed like it was in the original and the battery is now replaceable, although we've never had to replace the battery in the original.Otherwise the device seems ok. Not really much better than the original Boogie Board I already had from years ago that worked fine. I didn't need to buy another one so I could take a picture of it. I clearly need to read more carefully.

Just giving it 3 stars now, will redo review with more time lapsed. Just took it as gift with a sleeve for my out-of-state grandson's bday week ago. Given on Thurs late afternoon, not used at all on Sat, It stopped working on 1st try Sunday. Hoping just dead battery. Son going to get new specialized battery(thin, so not like AAA) & see how it goes. Not a full shut-off for battery when not in use, prob just "sleeps." So who knows how long since battery installed. Should be shipped with battery to be installed by buyer. Cute item for 8 yr old, but needs to last longer than 1 1/2 days.

This product is great, however after using it for a couple of hours one day i thought i had broken it. The clear button no longer appeared to work. After letting it sit for a while the clear button functionality has returned. I am unsure as to the cause of this but it is a repeated issue.

It was a gift for my 6 year old great grandson,so far he likes it.

Doesn't have opening for talking or hearing the phone. Have to remove phone to use it. Can't do it quick enough to answer the phone. Only works well if you use ear phones.

The product looks like the entire boogie board would be covered in the sleeve but there is a good amount sticking out. I made sure the sleeve I ordered was in fact for my model and it was but not what I expected. Other than the size being a little off, the sleeve is snug and allows most of the screen to be protected while in my daughters bags.

A little disappointed with this product. Does not light up as well as shown in the picture. Kind of dull. Not worth the money.

The best I can do is two stars. Comparing this new version to the awesome one that just died (after five years of regular use), this one is pretty disappointing. Thin and flimsy case, stylus is cheap and difficult to remove from its "holder", and writing is less bright and hard to see. My grandchildren have gone back to white paper and colored pencils. They think it's terrible.Go back to the original. It was absolutely perfect!!

I bought this last year for Christmas. My kids didn't use it a whole lot. It mostly stayed on the refrigerator and we would all jot notes down on it. A couple weeks ago it stopped erasing. I replaced the battery but am still not able to get the screen to clear. I've tried a few different techniques that I saw on-line but unfortunately nothing has been able to work so far. I gave it 2 stars b/c it's pretty neat when it works. It's just a shame we have to throw it away now. Not sure I would spend $30 again on a new one especially if replacing the $5 battery can't fix it.

Nice concept. I bought 3, since I have 3 young kids, and didn't want them to fight over it. This particular one, in black, seems to work fine so far. The blue one, had to be replaced 2 times, after a few days of use, due to the erase button not working. I replaced the expensive battery, but it still did not work.

I bought two of these for my daughters to use during road trips this summer, and I was really hoping the bad reviews where due to a bad batch....nope! Opened in the car as a surprise, and 24hrs later they stopped erasing! I tried the various methods mentioned on the internet for fixing the problem, and while they helped temporarily, they eventually stopped erasing all together......so we didn't even get to use them on the car ride home. My friend has one of the originals and has been using it for a while without any problems. I'm hoping that if I contact Boogie Board they will send me new ones. I gave it two stars only because, when it was working, it was so much fun to play with and my daughters really loved them!

My almost three year old was so excited by this product. She drew for over an hour straight when we opened it. We took it with us on a trip and it entertained her well enough we didn't have to bust out the iPad. Unfortunately after only two weeks of use (maybe five total days for a few hours each time) it stopped working. I tried replacing the battery with no change - after reading the battery should last for years I figured this wasn't the issue but tried anyway. I am very disappointed in this product. Maybe the one we received was defective... But still.

Bummer, broke within 2 weeks.

I purchased this product for my daughter for Christmas this past year. She absolutely loved it! She played with it for about a week and a half then it stopped working. We thought it was the battery and put it up until I got a new one. Well I purchased the battery today and it still isn't working. You can draw on it but you can't erase anything when pushing the button. We tried both new batteries that came in the pack and nothing. I'm very unhappy with this product and would loved to know who I could speak with about getting some help with a replacement as my daughter is now very upset that she can no longer use it!

Received the product August 13, 2016. Stopped working October 2nd, 2016.I replaced the battery and it did not resolve the issue.I figured I would take a chance and figured this problem would have been fixed, but I guess I should have heeded the many reviews.I used it to write out math problems and make lists.

So I've owned the item for about two weeks now. Prior to today, it had been a very nice product. Writing was natural, very reflective screen (in a good way) and overall practical solution for scratchwork. However, it stopped working today. It was working an hour ago, now it's not. It will no longer clear the screen so it's basically useless. I don't write reviews too often but people need to know that this product has a high rate of failure, and it's not covered by Amazon's return policy because it is technically a computer, so now I'm stuck with a $20 piece of plastic. I'll change my review if there is decent customer support.

Our original Boogie Board lasted almost three years, but this one barely lasted a month. It stopped erasing, which renders it completely useless. I'm so disappointed with the product and especially upset that there doesn't seem to be a way to refund or replace it at this point. The product is clearly defective and we shouldn't be stuck with it. I missed the refund window by a week, which I can understand if we simply didn't like or need the product, but I think an exception should be made when there is a quality issue.

We purchased one for our son for Christmas and it stopped working after about 2 days. You could write on it but it would not clear when you pressed the button. I assumed it was a bad battery but didn't feel I should have to pay the $5 for a new one so I sent it back to Amazon (Amazon service was excellent as always!) I bought a replacement and again in a few days it would not clear. We found that sometimes when you left it alone for a day it would work once but then stop again.I made the mistake of assuming it was the battery again. So I emailed the manufacturer asking for a replacement battery but in the meantime bought one for $5 so my son would be able to use it on a family weekend getaway. The battery made no difference. So I used my multi-meter to test the batteries and low and behold, both were perfectly good - the original and the new one.I fix a lot of stuff around the house including small electronics. I have taken apart digital cameras and replaced parts. I even fixed a stupid trinket toy one of my sons got as a freebie at a birthday party. So I looked at the battery compartment of the Boogie Board and thought maybe the battery connectors weren't making good contact. I used a very small screwdriver to try and bend them back into position. I got it to clear one time. But that was it. I am not messing with this again. I am sending this second one back and do not plan on buying another.[Updated] After a couple days I heard from Kent Displays and they asked for the unit serial number which I promptly provided. I got an email back saying they would send a replacement right away. I later got another email with the UPS tracking number. The replacement has been working great for a couple weeks now so I think they had a run of bad units that were sold through Amazon.The item works great. My son loves using it and the manufacturer stood behind the product. I can't give it 5 starts because of the issues with the first two but I am much happier now. In fat, my son's pen-pal (yes that is still a thing) got one one on his recommendation.Thanks Kent Displays, for making it right.[Updated again]After 3 or 4 replacements, the latest one has again stopped clearing. Each one I got lasted a bit longer and the last one lasted a couple months. I could email Kent again but I feel it is not worth the effort. They have been good to send replacements but if they all keep dying what is the point.This had such promise but has proven to be such a disappointment.

Within three days of opening it the screen won't erase. New battery did not solve the issue. Basically a disposable piece of e-junk. I would recommended the original model.

This product is terrible!! I bought this as a gift for a young girl and found out (after the return time of course) that the screen does not erase. I tried replacing the batteries but the thing won't even power on anymore. Very disappointed customer!!

I ordered one with a handle that looks like this photograph. The one I received has no handle.I am very unhappy about this change. The one I got was not worth the price I paid. It was like a big sock. The sleeve was a birthday gift for my grandson (along with his Boogie Board) and we had to wrap it as soon as we got it and mail it. By the time they had the birthday and I saw the product it was too late to return it.

I purchased this for my 5 year old grandson and it didn't last two days -- the screen became totally black and he was unable to use it.
