It fits great in whatever bag I have (purse or diaper bag)
March 22, 2017
This is a big hit at our house! The other day my 13 month old played with it for 20 minutes. I was surprised how well she could write with it and after 10 minutes she even figured out how to erase it. It fits great in whatever bag I have (purse or diaper bag), and doesn't weigh down my bag so perfect for on the go, at church, to pull out when you end up having to wait somewhere.
***if your 3 year old somehow gets a hold of a Sharpie and writes on the screen, a magic eraser gets it off easily with no damage to the screen.

My 3 year old loves this and calls it her "iPad" best thing about it was what was written on it when I opened the Amazon box! Please check out the picture below haha
Love the boogie board!
January 14, 2016
I got this to put on the fridge for lists. It is fantastic. Yes, I have to take a quick picture with my phone before going to the grocery store, but that is not a big deal. In addition to grocery lists, we also use it to write reminder notes between the family. The reset is effective - like a modern day etch-a-sketch. When writing, I wish it were just a little bit brighter, but as it is it is still very easy to read.

The holder for the pen slides on easily and holds the pen well. It slides on the top and the pen just clicks into it.

The magnets that you put on the back work well and I haven't had any issues with the board sliding or moving at all on the fridge when opening the door or writing on it.

All in all - I really like it and it's a great, useful tool for lists, notes, or even for our daughter to write on or work on her homework.
A Handy Device!

My Boogie Board just arrived today and I love it! This device came with 4 magnets that you stick on the back of your board, a pen, and a little attachment that you attach to your board to hold your pen. I am glad I purchased the bigger size, it's big enough for making lists and having children doodle on it. I only wish the "ink" shows up brighter when I am writing, but other than that it is a handy device to have. The best thing about this is that I don't have to charge it!
I'm a Lister, Mister

All of my life, I've been a lister. From To-Dos to ven diagrams, I bullet, bullet, bullet point. Pencils are fine; pens are good, but they always seem to dry up or lose their glide-like ability. What's the point :) you say? This super, super helpful tool hits such a home run for me.
Here are a few things to make your decision a little easier:

Pros:
• Amazingly easy feel when writing
• No-erase clip with a stylus holster as well
• Magnets are included
• 50,000 erases which allow for you to erase 3 times per day for a little more than 45 and 1/2 years!!!
• Perfect for any lister, artist, playmate... You name it
• Super light for on-the-go

Cons:
• Around the 5 mm of black, nearest to the blue frame on each of the 4 sides, the Boogie Board writing color turns bluish.
• The writing color everywhere else is a dull gray which could make it hard to see if you have trouble seeing or are in a dark environment.
• The no-erase clip has the potential to slide too far as you push it. You just have to position it gently.
• The no-erase clip and stylus holster make the Boogie Board rock back and forth/bend slightly which isn't as annoying as it is nerve racking at the feeling/thought of hurting something that I like so much.

[To solve this, I took a piece of plywood and cut it down to a slightly smaller shape than the Boogie Board's back edge with a gap for the no-erase clip to slide. This also solves the no-erase clip from going too far which is nice.]

Overall, I love this tool/toy/memory bank for my thoughts. It proves perfect for my needs and I love it so much. I very much recommend it and, if you are having trouble deciding between this one and the other Boogie Boards, as I did, this might help.

The other Boogie Boards' attractive features were the bigger screen size, no-erase switch, ability to save on your computer, ability to have a memory bank of your drawings/writings/etc, and rechargeable battery. Here is what you have to consider:

• This screen is big enough for anything that you will most likely be doing.
• The clip isn't bad and not annoying, just a little scary in the bending aspect. It's not a big deal and definitely isn't a deal breaker.
• This isn't something I'd recommend for work (other than a day-to-day list) or making Vincent Van Gogh artwork on and, subsequently, the saving feature isn't something you'd need whatsoever.
• The memory bank would be nice, but again, for my purposes and yours most likely as well, it's not necessary and hardly worth $10, let alone $70.
• The rechargeable battery sounds cool, but think about it. Will you be needing this more than 45 and 1/2 years? Or even if it were a fraction of that... Say you erased 10 times per day. Would you be using it 13 and 1/2 years? For my purposes, probably not.
• And finally, is it worth the extra chunk of cash for these features ($70 extra)? Again, for me, no.

Great replacement for notepads, paper waste, etc
March 22, 2016
These are great for quick notes and occupying kids. We've gotten two of these pretty cheap off Amazon and haven't had any problems with them. They're not treated with the best care by anyone around the house and get thrown around a lot. I'm not saying these can be stepped on or thrown too hard, but they can take a little tossing and rough handling and still work fine. After a couple years of light use these still work just fine, I can't say how many times the reset button has been pressed for sure but I know over 100. There's a little black clip with it that you might think "where the hell does this go?" But it's the stylus clip and it slides on the top. Probably not the best solution but its kept one from getting lost. These can be used by parents or kids for lots of different reasons, grocery list, car games, doodling, ideas, family games, whatever you could need paper for except this is reusable.

Mine came with a pretty decent scratch across the surface
September 15, 2017
Mine came with a pretty decent scratch across the surface, not quite bad enough for me to bother returning it for a new one because I hate returning stuff but I thought about it. I'm dropping one star because that packaging leaves the screen totally unprotected.

Anyway, the tablet itself works quite well, and can make fairly fine lines if you keep the stylus pressure light, or bolder lines with more pressure. I also can rest my hand right on the screen while writing without it making any stray marks, which is nice. Scratch aside I'm very happy with the actual product, I'll probably grab a second one if they go on sale again.
Pretty cool
September 14, 2017
I really like this boogie board. It's nothing special, and doesn't write in different colors, but it serves its purpose. It's a fun tool that you can doodle with, play some tic-tac-toe or hangman with your kid, or make "to do" lists or leave reminders without wasting paper or scrambling to look for a pen. And earasing is very easy...just press the only button on this decide. I really like this device and the only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because the battery is not replaceable. Otherwise, for what it is and its use, I would've given it 5 stars.
Real Nice...Great for Notes
September 14, 2017
Nice little board. will save tons of paper and ink especially for children learning and practicing how to write.

totally recommended for families with children or anyone who writes a lot of short notes. the only extra i will like to ask for is 'selective erase'. i will like to erase some things at times while keeping others but the board only allows full erase of everything written on the board with the erase button
Big Fan of Boogie Boards
August 27, 2017
This is the 2nd Boogie Board I've owned, and I actually preferred the one I purchased last year. It seems like the letters showed up darker, and it was a little easier to read. I'm not discounting the awesomeness of this one, however - these are handy little things to have around. I returned to college and have been using mine in lieu of scratch paper for math problems. It's a little more environmentally friendly. Easy to use, the included magnets attached nicely and it hangs on my fridge until I need it.
Almost great...
March 23, 2016
Very cool concept. One issue I have is the price. It's basically a doodle board that erases when you press the home button. Would be worth the price if you could save the page and store it to a USB or micro card or such. Maybe even email it. Otherwise great idea and cool colors to choose from. Another downside is the stylus is sharp on one end. Very dangerous when my toddler almost poked her eye with it. I have already ordered a soft tipped stylus. Problem solved. Very cool concept just need a few adjustments to make it worth the money.

Battery is replaceable
September 7, 2017
I bought these for gifts because I was impressed with the older model (perhaps the 10.5" model?). These are a cheaper construction. Also, the back says "battery not replaceable" so when mine stopped working I figured why not take it apart. The battery is replaceable. It is a round energizer battery.
We bought three of these to keep in the car ...

We bought three of these to keep in the car for long trips. They've been used VERY sparingly. But, one won't erase. (It's only been three months.)
They requested them so they were happy to receive them
January 9, 2017
These were Christmas presents for my granddaughters. They requested them so they were happy to receive them. They arrived in good condition. They worked without problems. They seem rather flimsy so I do not know how long they will last in the hands of children or adults for that matter. The stylus that comes with them writes easily but the print is a dark green which is difficult to see. My granddaughters did not find that as big a problem as I did so that may be my eyes. It looks like a fun way for children to scribble and make notes. My grandchildren certainly enjoyed them as Christmas presents so what more can I ask.
Great, until the battery dies and it's useless.
June 2, 2016
Great...until the battery dies and it's worthless. I can fix most anything, but these are made so you cannot replace the battery. I've taken two apart to replace the battery. The first one was definitely designed so you cannot replace the battery and it did not go well. The second one was easier to take apart and I was able to insert a battery, but there was minimal structural damage. It worked for a while, but ultimately it fell apart because it's plastic and not meant to be dissembled and reassembled. My kids love it...it's just way over priced for something with a limited shelf life due to a tiny battery that cannot be replaced.
Great board, with magnets that suck!
March 6, 2016
Magnet stickers! Really bad! Stuck it to my fridge to find the board lying on the floor just next day. Was lucky it didn't crack. Now it lis on the top of the fridge. But out of sight, out of mind - dont get it use as originally planned. Sadly such a small thing greatly reduces product functionality.

The 'clear screen' button cracks easily.
June 11, 2017
The 'clear screen' button cracks easily - and it seems to just happen from normal use. I noticed one day that there were cracks around the button. The device still works, but I couldn't explain the cracks. I noticed my office neighbor had the same model and the exact same cracks we're on her device. We've chalked it up to be a design defect.
Stopped Working in One Week

My daughter was so excited to receive a Boogie Board from Santa, but it stopped working in Less Than a Week. I read some negative reviews, but thought I would give the product the benefit of the doubt. Now I will have to spend valuable time returning this item, or hoping the manufacturer sends a new one. Very disappointed.
Great while it lasted
November 29, 2016
Great while it lasted. My daughter and I would write messages to each other every morning, this product pushed her to write and for a 6 year old, that's important. If this item was still working I would give it 5 stars however it lasted just over a year. Considering to buy another however this experience may determine otherwise.
It's not what I hoped it would be.
July 13, 2016
I love the technology but the board is two small to be fuctional for anything but a small note, I was going to use it for post my weekly menu, two of the four magnets have come off, and it will scratch your refrigerator. I'm haven't tried to rub out the scratches yet so I don't know if they're superficial or permanent.

SERIOUSLY LIGHT LETTERING!!!
September 13, 2017
Definitely for kids. Got this to take the place of my steno book I use for notes, etc. I use my phone but prefer written notes. The soft green lettering that is created by the stylus is WEAK.
I'm sure kids might like it but not adults. I understand there is a new version but wont try it until they work out the bad kinks per it's review.

July 31, 2016
Very disappointed. My daughter worked for and saved her money for months to buy this tablet that she wanted so badly. She squealed when it came in the mail, and was on cloud nine...for 24 hours, until it broke. She was careful, and probably erased it 20 times. (Who knew there was a limit on the number of times you could erase? Lame!) Then suddenly it stopped erasing. And we can't replace the battery? My daughter is so disappointed. She worked hard and waited a long time for this piece of plastic.
I threw the packaging away, but you better believe I'm digging in the trash first thing in the morning to get this out and return it.
Not as good as the original because of absurd re-design.
July 14, 2016
I saw my first Boogie Board at a friends house and loved it, I ordered one immediately but it was quite different. The difference was not apparent from the description or picture on Amazon. The new board is perhaps a bit lighter than the original. The button is sealed and a bit more integrated. The new one has a cheaper feel to it. What really sets it apart is the stylus. On the original, the stylus slips into a clever, integrated pocket on the top, where it was very secure. The newer model has this ridiculous, cheesy plastic clip that clips on top where it slides back and forth because it has no detent. The stylus is forever getting bumped and knocked off the clip and is sure to be lost . The whole design is absurd when contrasted to the original. I'm highly disappointed and would not have bought it had I known of this difference. I actually called the company and was told there were original ones still on Amazon. I was given a model number that did not produce any results. I can see no reason why the very clever original design was dropped for the present one. 2 steps backward.
Never worked.
January 1, 2016
We got this for Christmas and it did not work at all from the moment we opened it. You can write on it, but it won't erase. I think Amazon needs to look into the fact it was shipping in very cold temperatures. The paperwork on the inside of the package describes how it does not like to be stored too hot or too cold. I'm assuming in shipping this to us, it was stored overnight in freezing trucks and that caused it to come to us with a dead battery. I would not suggest ordering it during the summer or winter months. The battery is not replaceable so we will have to return this and buy another if we want to try one that actually works. We had one pretty sad girl for Christmas when opening this gift and one grandma who felt terrible because it was from her,. (we just helped her order it online.) They probably need to better protect this from the cold in packaging or stop shipping it in the summer heat and winter freeze.
no longer erases

The newer model has this ridiculous, cheesy plastic clip that clips on top where it slides back and forth because it has no detent. The stylus is forever getting bumped and knocked off the clip and is sure to be lost . The whole design is absurd when contrasted to the original. I'm highly disappointed and would not have bought it had I known of this difference. I actually called the company and was told there were original ones still on Amazon. I was given a model number that did not produce any results. I can see no reason why the very clever original design was dropped for the present one. 2 steps backward.
Never worked.

My daughter wanted to get the boogie board so I ordered it through amazon. She probably had it for a month or so and it no longer works. It won't erase. I'm not sure how to go about returning it or anything. She was very disappointed!
