Five Star Reviews: | 32% Makes a great net for me to practice golf during the lax ... September 4, 2017 Attached this net to one of my son's lacrosse nets. Makes a great net for me to practice golf during the lax offseason!! Excellent net for the price July 19, 2017 Excellent net for the price. Easy to set up. It sends the ball back. I have used more expensive nets that are not as good. They are doing a great job protecting our 4x7 ft window from errant golf balls February 2, 2015 I ordered two of these to protect our $1,000 + window from errant golf balls from the golf course our new home borders. Item arrived on time and is perfect for my need February 26, 2014 Item arrived on time and is perfect for my need. My only complain is, since the poles are 7ft, you will not get exactly 9ft x 7 ft dimension when installed. | 28% Strong and sturdy! June 18, 2016 I couldn't be more pleased with this training net. So easy to put together, and the kids have had hours of practice and play already. Strong and sturdy construction, so that I don't worry about having to replace it. Should be around for a long time. Great All Sport Net - tried and tested June 20, 2015 So we looked around for a while for a net to put behind my son for soft pitching, pitching practice and eventually found and bought this one. Its BIG... much bigger than others that are much more expensive. I am almost 6 ft and can stand inside the frame of the net. You need to follow the instructions while assembling... and when we store this in the garage we actually leave the poles in, but remove the T-bracket parts (so it stands up, but flat). We are especially happy to say this IS a multi sport net. My daughter has used it for kicking soccer balls, throws, etc. and my 8th grader has used it to practice throwing the football. Its sturdy, durable, does what we need and didn't cost a fortune. Helps develop power and accuracy November 3, 2014 I got it for practicing soccer with the kids, but realized when I set it up that it could be used for baseball or softball too. I noticed the other teams that practice where we do checking it out and asking a lot of questions like how much I paid for it. After a week of use, the kids developed more power and accuracy. Great product and great price. Great Product May 4, 2013 I bought this for our Softball team expecting it would only be used for soft toss or off the tee batting practice. But after being put in bind for practice space we used this as a backstop for our pitching machine and it works great. I was a little difficult to put it together the first few times, but once you get the hang of it the net goes up in two to three minutes with only one person. It is very durable and I plan on buying a few more before the season is over. perfect March 4, 2013 This net has been perfect for soft toss, and pitching practice out in the yard for my nine year old son.during soft toss the net has stood up too about 10 buckets of balls per week, with no signs of damage or tearing yet. Even i have taken some cuts into the net and it had held up nicely. Works good for golf practice as well. During pitching practice, the net is big enough to stop 95% of my sons wild pitches. The net sets up in about 7 to 10 minutes the first time. I leave the net poles in the net and take apart the pole holders, then store it in the garage against the wall, it then sets up next time in about a minute or two. All in all this net has done everything i have needed it to do. For the price i very highly recommend it. Playing golf in the backyard everyday. February 26, 2013 It's a lot bigger than what I thought.. But I understood why it should be that much big after couple of shorts. Golf ball can fly more than what you expected, and it could harm the window glass or anything... Easy to assemble and strong enough be stand in the wind and heavy rain. I feel like I have a golf driving range in my own backyard. I am playing everyday and my golf got improved a lot. Recommend to everyone who looking golf practice. |
Four Star Reviews: | 22% Great golf practice net for youth golf training November 8, 2016 As described, easy to assemble, easy to use and quick setup/take-down. Don't be too far back or the ball may go over the net. Used for introduction to golf for kids in my back yard. See photos of the comparison with other net. Very pleased with the practice net for golf training needs. The metal stakes provided are not good enough to keep the line secured unless you have hard soil. If you have soft soil you may need to use large tent camping stakes made of plastic that are 10"+. So far no balls have gone through the net. Purchased on Amazon Prime. Price and quality are good for budget minded families. Net was as advertised. Buy it knowing that you ... June 23, 2016 Net was as advertised. Buy it knowing that you will need to make some modifications to the poles. For poles I used 1" plastic conduit that were 9' high and drove 3' metal stakes into the ground and placed the conduit over the 3' stakes. The metal poles that come with it are very week and short. The conduit is a little bit flexible and allows the net to last longer. Have not had any problems. ) It set up easily; and portable to my friends May 16, 2016 This met my expectations and more!:)It set up easily; and portable to my friends.:)If you need help making good contact on the golf ball; this is a perfect training aid!:) I so like ⛳ golf and MY NET helps!:) works just fine. Great fo the price February 27, 2015 works just fine. Great fo the price. Not too hard do set up - under 5 minutes. Better than I expected, and definitely worth the price. useful tool for practice June 25, 2014 this can be a very useful tool to help you grove your swing once you get it anchored to the ground. the stakes that come with the net will not stand up to heavy use, they come out of the ground after several shots. i used rebar about 15 inches long to anchor mine net and they haven't come out. once it's secure, it performs very well. | 17% Not Bad July 17, 2017 I got this for my kids (5&7) to hit softballs and baseballs into, as well as for me to hit golf balls. So far so good. I do not love the design and having to put this together and take it down after. I would like to just fold and store it but unfortunately that is not possible and may be another reason the others are more expensive. For the price you cannot really beat the deal especially if you are only using it once and a while. If I was using this daily I would go with one that folds down and goes up quick because this can take a few minutes to set up and I usually have to have another person with me.Feels fairly sturdy but I will update after a few months.Suggestion, when taking it down do not pull the poles out, push them through. a little more sturdy would be great June 3, 2017 it works for small areas...a little more sturdy would be great... My son uses it for baseball soft toss and he seems to like it. The net is a bit tight and ... February 10, 2017 It's taller than I anticipated. It is not as fast to set up as I had hoped, so I've just left it staked in the yard. I had hoped to pack it up and take it to the gym for wiffle balls. My son uses it for baseball soft toss and he seems to like it. The net is a bit tight and the balls sometimes come back.Overall, pretty good. Kids and dad enjoyed it for pitching practice September 16, 2016 2 years after buying I was looking for aReplacement net as the nylon has ripped in several spots. Got an idea from another review to repair with duct tape. This net has been great- dragged from the garage to outside and back, store flat against the side of the garage wall so it doesn't have to be disassembled for eachuse. Kids and dad enjoyed it for pitching practice, whiffle ball backstop, hitting golf balls. Our 3rd one May 17, 2014 This will be our third one. The kids use them for soccer and baseball. We leave them up for days and that's when the weather or my landscaper trying to move them, breaks the connecting rods (our fault). Be careful when moving them or you WILL break the fiberglass type rods. Take your time the first few times and get the bottom connectors right or it will collapse easily. I would glue and tape back but it's not worth the headache after a while. At this price, I'll get a new one every six months. Paint the connectors with bright paint, as they will fall off and be hard to find in the grass. Great price, and now we have extra parts from previous purchases. OK for softball T work November 13, 2010 For the price, this net was worth it. I set it up by myself, though it took about 15 minutes (mostly to figure out how to get the 2 composite linker poles into the connectors). The ends of the two linker poles connect at 90 degrees in a plastic connector (the poles are first threaded through the nylon boarder of the net). The first 3 ends went in without too much trouble but I really had to push with all my strength to get the 4th pole end into the connector. There are 3 little U shaped stakes that are used to hold the net down (if you have a grass yard, those wouldn't work in artificial turf). I just set it up on the side of the yard and left it there. My daughter went out and did T work into the net. Over the course of about 1 year it started to weather and it finally started ripping (first the netting, which I stitched up with some string and then the nylon holding the poles ripped). When the nylon went the net was no longer functional. If you don't have to take it down and put it up, it does just the job we wanted. I'm going to buy another one. If it lasts a year, the $40 cost is well worth it. I definitely would not use this net if I had to set it up and take it down every time we wanted to use it. If you have an old piece of carpet I would put that down in the open area inside the net. Weeds started growing in that area and I think that's what tore the netting. If I had been less lazy it might have lasted a little longer. We have a JUGS pop up net that we take back and forth for use at our team practices. It's easier to set up and take down (...once you get the hang of folding it up). |
Three Star Reviews: | 16% The item that I received was not what the description ... August 4, 2017 The item that I received was not what the description called for in the ad. The erection poles were to be weather resistant metal which were not included, and the assembly directions were very skimpy and not very clear how to attach the net at the top of the support poles. Works well when when there is no wind, slight ... July 15, 2016 Works well when when there is no wind, slight winds take it down even though it is staked well, just to be clear the pole came apart in the wind and the stakes were still in the ground. Will wait and see if it holds up to the summer heat in the desert southwest. An wxpwnsive solution that achieves my objectives. However, ... June 27, 2016 An wxpwnsive solution that achieves my objectives. However, setting up and taking down is a bit cumbersome. If not stored carefully, the lines become frustratingly tangled. It is not something you just pull out of the bag start hitting. Good for light use June 8, 2014 If you only need a net that is set up for a day or two a couple time a year it is worth the investment. If you plan on leaving it up then you are better off spending the money on a net with more support.I say this because if it is windy or gets wet in the ran it will sag and have to be reset. Also it does not come with larger spikes to hold the ropes in the ground. | 13% Adequate net for baseball June 23, 2015 Very large net. Easier to set up and leave setup than to break it down each time. Stitching ripped out because it wasn't setup exactly correct. Handles batting and pitching of baseballs into it well. NET: GREAT, POLES: NOT SO MUCH April 27, 2015 It's not hard to set up if you read the instructions. The net is fine for anything you hit into it. The problem with the net are the poles. They are fiberglass and bend at the joints. After a while, the poles can break off into the metal joints. You can get some pliers and pull the broken off pieces and continue to use the shorter pole(s). If you never disassemble the net, you may not have a problem. They sell replacement poles for a reason. $10 for the poles aren't bad. You get what you pay for! November 1, 2014 Looks great, works ok, but it is flimsy. When you try to feed the frame through the thin cloth material, it is very weak. Ours broke the very first time. Duct tape will fix it for a while. You need to have at least 2 people because you are going to put a lot of stress on the cloth material as you feed the frame through as you have to force it to bend. SKLZ should have made the cloth material much thicker and stronger and doubled the price. The other problem is at the junction of the two frames. It is weak and as the wind hits the huge net, it will cause the frame to twist making the net useless no matter how much weight you use to hold it down. Nice net, but such a pain in the A$$ April 8, 2014 The net works great, seems like decent construction, but what a pain to setup and take down. The "shock Cord polls" (Like tent polls) often come apart during assembly and diss-assembly. The more you do it, it does get easier to deal with. Looking for one of those easy fold up models soon. very large net February 27, 2014 This thing is big. It does say "7'" right in the title, but it didn't really hit me until I got it all setup. It Works OK as a backstop when I am soft tossing to my son to hit baseballs (it is a pain because everything goes to the back of the net). I works even better when he hits off a Tee into the net. It also works well for stopping golf balls, even full swing driver shots if it is staked down. Now for the cons. I can't say enough how big this thing is. It is unwieldy to move around. It is a real pain to store when it is assembled, and I really hate tearing it all apart and putting it together every time I want to use it. Also, after one season of use, I have the beginning of a hole in on of the nylon sleeves, all of the connectors on the shock-cord poles are cock-eyed, and I don't think for a second that the plastic corner pieces will make it through another year. I'm not sure I'd buy this item again. Good for the $$ but could be better March 19, 2013 First of all, once assembled the net works well. I have 13 and 14 year old boys hitting baseballs into it and it stands up to the abuse. The good:Low priceNet will catch hard hit balls easilyLooks goodComes in a nice compact carrying bagThe bad:It's not that easy to set up or take downThe tent like poles used ripped though the nylon the second time we used it (I think this was partially our fault)When you hit balls into the net they get stuck way in the back and you have to crawl in to retrieve them |
Two Star Reviews: | 13% All Parts Not Included!!! September 23, 2017 Instructions call for using stakes to secure, however, they are not included! Maybe most people keep stakes around in their homes or garages, but I'm not one of them. How frustrating to find that I have to go out and buy some. And those metal pins that are supposed to help hold down net at bottom? Not very well thought out, because they really don't do the job. Keep searching for a better net is my suggestion! terrible durability July 16, 2017 ive had this net for about a month, and use it probably once or twice a week for about 15-20m. if you are anything bit a beginner dont buy this net, as i have put holes in it with a 6 iron Poor rigging August 20, 2016 The net itself is nice however the support system cannot withstand any force and was knocked down nearly ever time by my swing. Not for Me! June 1, 2016 Good in theory but no so good in reality as the mesh fails to stop most shots with any velocity at all. For children it might be okay but otherwise I feel their are better options out there. Directions not good November 18, 2014 Maybe the worst set-up directions. Did not make sense / had to gerrymander to set-up. The price is good but the directions are not good at all. Works fine (once set-up) for practice with foam balls. There was a thought to return but no packing/order form was in the delivery. Material misrepresentation November 20, 2013 For the money I guess I can't complain too much, but I don't expect the netting to last very long as it's pretty light wieght. But mostly I gave it a 2 star rating for the blatant misrepresentation of the support post material. These are not "heavy guage steel" as advertised, but rather light weight plastic in 3 sections per post with plastic sleeves that hold the joints together. A well hit ball that directly hits one of the posts will most likely crack or shatter the post. I went back and read previous reviews and noticed over a year ago someone complained about the post metal/plastic discrepancy. You would think either Amazon or Golf Outlets would have corrected it by now. | 15% Was not as easy to assemble as stated April 17, 2017 Was not as easy to assemble as stated. Ended up tearing during installation. Balls did not stay in that but they bounced back. My daughter did not like it after two days we decided to return it. Not satisfied One of the "L" Brackets that stands up the frame ... September 26, 2016 One of the "L" Brackets that stands up the frame broke the second time I tried to set it up. The other "L" Bracket broke a few times later and now I can't find replacement "L" Brackets. I wanted to like it. We only got about a week of ... March 25, 2016 I wanted to like it. We only got about a week of use out of this net. Net ripped on the first day of practice, which is to be expected in any practice net. However, it was useless after multiple tears were produced after continued BP. The final straw was the pole snapping after the second take down. Much better products can be bought. You get what you pay. However, keep in mind Baseball and Softball equipment is "made to throw away". Everything has a lifespan. This one is just really short... Cant use it after 4 to 5 uses... September 25, 2015 The elastic bungy that threads through the framing poles came apart after 4 or 5 uses. I havent been able to get the bungy strings back through all the poles so its basically useless for me with out the framing. don't leave it outside... January 26, 2015 Didn't last very long and apparently it isn't meant to be left outside... After a couple of months of being in my backyard the sun apparently weakened the net... I hit a softball off a tee and it flew right through the net. Recommend putting it away after each use... Not Great.... March 9, 2013 Bought this to put in my backyard for my 8 year old daughter to practice hitting into. It only lasted a week.1. The poles were too long. I tried and tried and couldn't figure out why the poles would not bend enough to get into the ends of the netting only to finally realize that they were too long. After I cut off one section of the "tent" poles, they fit. Not a super hard fix, but I should not have to change it at all. Work on your QC guys.2. After about a week, a section of both poles broke off inside the metal connectors (which is not fixable). It's not just sitting in my yard in a pile...3. I bought this one because of price and the fact that it said "portable" because I wanted to take it to games for my players to warm up with. It's not nearly as portable as some of the other ones. You can definitely take it down and move it when needed, but it's not the quick, foldable kind that I was really looking for. You basically have to take out all the poles, and then re-thread them at your location. Sure, it doesn't take a super long time, but I was really wanting something that folded up quickly. It's a super cheap option compared to some of the other items, but cheap still isn't good enough if it doesn't work. If they would use better poles, I think it would be fine for a stationary thing to keep in my back yard, but now we can't use it. |
One Star Reviews: | 17% Plastic October 18, 2017 Whoever made this didn’t think about nailing it into the ground at all because when I used the hammer to put it in the ground the plastic that connects to the net bent and it DOSENT work anymore! This product sucks False Ads August 2, 2017 Advertised to come with heavy gauge steel poles however it came with flimsy plastic poles.....that's false advertising! One Star May 31, 2016 I found the directions unclear and the net completely unstable. One star is too much, I threw mine away. Flimsy May 30, 2014 The net itself is of decent construction, but the posts are only 7 feet long, so putting them in the ground means that the net gets bunched up at the bottom and you lose height. The strings attached to the net to tie onto the posts also come off easily, and the slick rope slides off of the stakes. Cheaply made and badly designed July 8, 2013 This is a complete waste of money. My son bought it with some gift card $ from his grandma for his birthday. My husband is great at putting hard-to-put-together items and he gave up after half an hour. The instructions are unclear. I persisted and finally got it put up, only to have it sag at the end of the afternoon. It is cheaply made and badly designed. We are returning it. | 27% Low quality Product May 5, 2017 I should have paid more attention to the reviews before buying this product. It is a really big waste of money. I waited a while after receiving this product to start using it so I could not return it. First, the pole broke within about a week and it was not from abuse or misuse. It just broke on it's own while it was setup. I tried to take it down to see if I could fix the broken pole and the bungie cord holding it together broke. Ugh!. Second, unlike the PowerNet Baseball and Softball Practice Net 7 x 7 with bow frame product, retrieving the balls is more difficult. Third, this has a huge footprint and takes up a lot of space. It is NOT easy to setup and take down. I urge you to not buy this product. I highly recommend the Powernet product as it is well made, easy to setup and takedown, easy to retrieve the balls you have hit. Low quality, stay away from it. September 9, 2016 It's a low price but it's low quality. Received my net Less than two weeks ago and it already snapped a support rod and it has cracked elbow brackets. My 5 year old tee ball player is not a happy camper.... Looking at the picture it looks like there are two plastic corner pieces that the supports ... September 9, 2015 No instructions, box was taped up and I believe some of the parts are missing. It doesn't stand on its own using buckets of water to stand it up. Looking at the picture it looks like there are two plastic corner pieces that the supports fit so it stands....didn't receive those parts. Hard to tell what is missing if anything since the instructions didn't come with it. Not a new product by any means, net was stained. Have purchased often from amazon and this is the first time I was disappointed. Not happy! DO NOT BUY!!! August 26, 2015 Complete junk! I set up the net and we used it, no problem. Went out the next day and the bottom (tent pole) had snapped in half overnight. Now it won't stand up and is complete garbage. I waited over 90 days to use it for the first time now I'm completely out $55 bucks for a piece of junk net. DO NOT BUY, SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND MONEY!Update: After contacting SKLZ customer service, they agreed to send me a new net. Great customer service, but still a sketchy product. Morale of the story, you get what you pay for. I got this net for my kids to practice hitting ... March 18, 2015 I got this net for my kids to practice hitting baseballs into. This is not a quick set up and take down net. It comes with a convenient travel bag, but I'm leaving it up because my kids wouldn't be able to set it up alone. The main reason for the low review is, after just a week of using the net, the cheap material at the bottom of the net has torn, exposing the inside pole. I will either have to look into returning it or duct tape it back together. If you want a net that is easy to put up & seems like it will last a while I would look elsewhere. June 6, 2014 Purchased this net for my 8 year old son to practice hitting in the backyard. I was tired of having to go to the neighbors to get balls that went over the fence. I read the reviews so there was no surprise in the setup. It's like a tent, 2 long segmented poles connected together by a bungie fed into 2 different sleeves then they connect to a "L" shaped plastic piece so that one arc is on the ground & one arc is in the air.So I set it up & my son hit about 3 full buckets of balls into it. We came inside, had diner & I went back out to take it down. I started to remove one of the poles and realized the bungie was gone. I guess the knot that was tied at the end to prevent it from going through the pole had come undone. I thought I could just feed it back through but there is no way to do that because their are small plastic pieces inside the poles that would make it very difficult. It was then that I realized that the metal sleeves that hold the poles together had also bent. I'm sure this is not a huge problem but it just seemed that it I spent money for something I shouldn't be having all of these issues the first time it was set up.I returned this net to Amazon & ordered SKLZ Quickster Net. It is more money but cheaper than others and built much better than this net.If you want a net that is easy to put up & seems like it will last a while I would look elsewhere. |
