Five Star Reviews: | 59% Exercising Again!! May 9, 2017 As an older, non-exercising adult, I bought these in the hope that I would start walking. I purchased these to help with my balance, to avoid falls, and to give me stability when walking. I'm happy to say that I have started walking daily. The poles do help with stability, balance. But I have also found that my back is hurting less, my posture has improved, and the arm movement is giving me a cardio workout. For the price, these are well built, absorb shock. I have used only the feet for walking on the street, but they seem to be doing the job. The only suggestion I have is in the instructions for lengthening and adjusting the fit. I was, and still am, unsure if the adjustment should be to all the sections of the pole equally, or if the first length adjustment should be from the thicker end of the pole and then adjustments made to the other sections consecutively. Or maybe, I'm just overthinking this. Anyway, thanks for helping me get off my butt and start exercising again. Great kids poles November 27, 2016 These are great walking/hiking sticks for children. They are not substantial enough for some adults, but a smaller adult could probably use them. We have Black Diamond poles for ourselves and there is a huge difference in quality and feel. But, for our girls who need some help on long walks and hikes, we are very pleased. These collapse down that they can fit in a backpack or a carryon bag. The twist locks are easy to use to adjust the height and we didn't have any trouble with them loosening up with use. These are good, affordable poles for kids. ... trips with the thought that shorter and cheaper is better when transporting poles in airplane baggage July 13, 2016 I've used these poles on several long overseas hiking trips with the thought that shorter and cheaper is better when transporting poles in airplane baggage. I've been surprising happy with these poles on every occasion. There are mild downsides when compared to more expensive models--I like flick locks a little bit better than the twist locks and I find that the wrist strap adjustment occasionally jams, but these are all minor issues and not any problem after starting a hike. In the end, the value to cost ratio is especially high, and I would highly recommend this product to any casual hiker. LOVE THESE POLES & THE PRICE IS UNBEATABLE! COMPARES TO $200.00 POLES November 11, 2015 These trekking poles are Wonderful! Lightweight, 3 options for tip (flat rubber, curved rubber, or no tip, my favorite), and they fold down smaller than the others so they fit well in my smaller backpack! I hike Mountain Wilderness in rocks and boulders and the trail is not even easy to see, but these poles handle it very well. Relieves the knees and tests surfaces too. Note: those mentioning the poles came apart, did not open and close them properly. You twist the METAL POLE, not the rubber fitting. They open and close easily to any length. Great Purchase! Excellent bargain trekking poles. October 7, 2015 Bought these for my mother-in-law to use on a hiking trip to Zion. She had never hiked and has occasional problems with balance so I figured trekking poles would benefit her greatly. She ended up loving them and were invaluable navigating the rocks of The Narrows. They do have more side flex in them compared to my old pair (of much more expensive) Leki poles, but they shouldn't be seeing perpendicular force anyway. Additionally, I personally prefer a quick-release style lock, but that is only available on more expensive poles. These really can't be beat for the price. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 24% Worked great for my 10 year old daughter June 14, 2017 I bought these for our daughter for our hiking trip. She really enjoyed them and they worked out great for her. I was just a little disappointed to find that the bottom piece of one of the poles had fallen off and we never did find it when we went back down the trail. It must not have been secured on tight enough....the trail was mostly rocks. I find that this is the only problem with the screw on poles...they do come loose. Other than loosing that piece, they worked just fine for her. It's nice that they came with three different tips to choose from....and they are adjustable so others of different heights can use them as well. easy to carry August 10, 2016 They are cheap, light, easy to carry, very good for regular hiking. However, i found the 4 piece trekking poles are too thin toward the tip, and they are far from being sturdy. I always go back to leki when im going on a long term trekking trip. Adequate So Far March 17, 2016 So far these poles have worked well for me, but as of now, they haven't had much use. The no. 1 advantage for me is that they adjust to the perfect length even though I'm short. I've had no problem with them staying locked in position and they are sufficient for my weight. They did flex a bit when I tested putting all of my weight on them but they did not bend. There is a spring in them for "anti-shock" but it is very stiff, unlike some other poles I have tried. The spike on the tip is very short but is still functional. The disadvantage for me is that it takes a lot of time for me to set each pole to the correct height. There are markings on the top section but I'm too short to use them so I had to make my own marks. As for the color, the top section is light blue with a bright green design and the other sections are black. The strap is adjustable and the strap and grips are very comfortable to me. They are light weight and they retract to a nice size for carrying on a backpack. So far, I am pleased with them. I would like to know where I could purchase extra tips and covers. And be sure to read the directions on the tag that comes with them, especially that last line that warns you against using them to drag a person. ;) I am pleased with my purchase but time will tell if they deserve that fifth star. Btw, I paid full price for this product. I'd be really happy with them if they had been free. Very happy with these! September 19, 2015 These are pretty sweet! Definitely helps with stability when walking steep wooded paths with heavy camera equipment! They lock safely, they are a bit flimsy for actually putting full weight on, but my difficulties with balance especially with top-heavy equipment on my back are overcome! Just a followup that this company reached out to me to check on customer satisfaction.... JUST IN CASE. One rarely sees that kind of service nowadays! Kudos and best wishes for their business! These walking sticks work great. Bought a set for my wife and I September 14, 2015 These walking sticks work great. Bought a set for my wife and I. We only use 1 each and it does wonders for taking the pressure off our knees while hiking downhill and on steps. Have had no issues with slippage if you tighten them correctly. There is a bit of a bounce or spring action which is nice for lightening impact a bit. The only flaw we see is with the strap. There are some rough edges on the straps that make them uncomfortable, so we usually just use the sticks without the straps. The color is a sky blue bright green, the pictures are a bit deceiving. I would also mention that the clip that comes with them to attach them together does not work very well. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 6% I wish I liked these-- update April 3, 2017 I really wanted to like these but I was disappointed. I've used them once for hiking in the snow. The poles kept collapsing and I had to keep stopping to re-tighten them. Also one of the snow baskets kept falling off, I had to go back several times to search for it. Luckily I didn't lose it. Feeling bummed :( *Update* The company read my review and sent me another pair to try. They did not send new snow baskets with the new poles so I can't say how the would have been. Also, more of the snow is gone now anyway, so I will have to wait till the winter to test out the poles with the baskets. These poles weren't collapsing on me as much. I'm changing my one star to a 3 star rating based on good customer service. Pretty poles with problems April 1, 2017 I just received and they seem fine and as specified in the product description and in Amazon reviews. However as others stated in the reviews there was some initial problem with the tightening mechanism and I had to disassemble the pole to figure out how to get it to work. There were no clear instructions. Also two of the plastic disk tips were broken when they arrived. For these reasons, even though I will keep the poles I cannot recommend them to others The poles look great but the quality is less than good. Hopefully the company will make good on their intention to improve them. February 19, 2016 Bought these in November and my wife used them about 10 times on local walking trails. As of today neither pole will stay adjusted and the poles are therefore are unusable. The poles look great but the quality is less than good. They are apparently no longer returnable and there is no warranty information on Amazon and I could not locate a website for Ohuhu. My wife and I are very disappointed. Update 07/06/16: The company refunded the purchase price and has indicated it will be working to improve the quality of the poles. I am therefore raising my rating from One (1) star to Three (3) stars. I have advised the company that they need to include warranty information with their products. Broke after 1 use. We weren't able to secure ... January 22, 2016 Broke after 1 use. We weren't able to secure it so the bottom kept falling of and then the connecting piece split and wouldn't go back together. Its a bummer though because I thought they were cute. changed to 3 starts dt nice customer service department Didn't hold up for me July 11, 2015 These poles probably would've been okay for mild hikes, but I purchased these poles specifically for a major hiking trip through the White Mountains. Unfortunately, they didn't hold up for the duration of my trip. I did receive this item in a timely manner, and I really like the anti shock feature. But on our hiking trip, the tip fell off of one pole very early on, so I was quickly down to one pole. The last few hours of our trip we needed to descend down a very steep slope and I was really depending on this trekking pole to help me trek down. At one point, the pole collapsed to a shorted length while I was using it to help me descend down the mountain. At that point I called it quits with these poles and used one of my husband's trekking poles instead. I had this at 1 star, but the customer service was awesome, and very helpful so I changed it to 3 stars. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 3% Not worth the money February 23, 2017 These poles look nice however the adjustment mechanism is not secure. They loosen as used and this makes them frustrating for a child. During a 1-hour x-country skiing adventure this happened 2-3 times and the same thing happened when snow shoeing. Also, they came with only one snow cup. these poles are lame, I stuck with them way too long February 7, 2017 Pro: inexpensive Con: a 6 year old boy destroyed them in the first 1hr. We got it all back together, and off to to ski slopes we went. First run he broke a rod, but we are a family of technical types so back home we brought 'em. We taped the fire out of them (which makes adjust-ability a non sequitur), and back to the slopes we went. Next mishap, the basket went missing. This shows lots of things: these poles are lame, I stuck with them way too long, I was a fool for trying twice. They just dont stay the desirable size. June 13, 2016 These were awful. I used them for a hike and no matter how well I adjusted them, they kept getting short in the middle of the road, and I actually broke one of them trying to adjust it in despair. Liked the polls but would have like some instructions. February 1, 2016 I really like the walking polls, wanted them to help navigate in the snow. By the time I ordered them, the snow has started to melt. I intend to use them on long walks. My reason for 2 stars. They are sturdy and well constructed but they came with no instructions, on how to extend them and what is the best height for a person to use them properly. I figured it out, but would have liked some help. Tried to search online but only came up with the Amazon site. Tip of pole comes off way to easy February 1, 2016 This product would have gotten a better rating if the tip had not of come off during my first hike using it. I didn't realize the tip was missing until I had completed the hike..I'm now trying to find a replacement tip | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 8% NOT AS ADVERTISED.... February 8, 2017 PACKAGE NOT AS ADVERTISED. !! Only came with 2 (two) types of tips... NOT THE 4 (FOUR) pictured. One set for snow and one for hiking. UPDATE: March 4, 2017. After dealing with this company with several emails spewing forth how their "quality control" was impeccable and they "double check" everything and putting up with insinuations that I was a "shady" character who was trying to get something more.. (What ? Some plastic pieces?) I received the "replacement". It ALSO ONLY HAD TWO (2) sets of tips AND 1 CLIP. So much for quality control from a Chinese company... although I may STILL be a shady character..... ATTACHED are 3 pictures showing the "UNOPENED" replacement package and 2 screenshots directly from Amazon for THEIR advertisement..... Don't be misled January 22, 2017 I absolutely HATE it when misled by pictures. Bought 2 of these for snowshoeing. NO snow baskets for the pole tips came with product. MAY 2017. Hulu was very responsive, and sent me the missing baskets, claiming that they must have been lost during shipment. No, they weren't lost, they were not in the intact and sealed package. Now they are harassing me to change the review. So, ok I'll give them 2 stars for correcting the problem, which was still an issue of an incorrect picture and description. I'm withholding the additional 3 stars because I have to write this damn review to get them off my back. Trekking poles March 3, 2016 One of the poles had been used. Tip was worn and dirty. I sent back. Also thought the poles were too thin. Make sure to test out within return time February 10, 2016 Went to use it for the first time, two months after I bought it and it was broke. Couldn't use it. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
