Digital clock radio. Battery backup. Really bright display. Really works. I like it.
June 27, 2017
Wow! Did I ever need this. I suffered along with an old analog clock radio for several years until I finally had had enough and got this one. Wow! What a difference. It is so nice. All digital. All automatic. Battery backup. So nice. It's true, the blue lights light up the whole room. I put my pillow over the thing when I go to bed at night. No big deal. I like it.

June 8, 2017
At first glance I thought it was a cheaply made clock since I had another Emerson clock that's much heavier. But it zipped right to the current time and date when I plugged it in which is a major plus since I hate clocks to fidget with the time. The blue numbers have three settings which is great if the light disturbs your sleep. It also has a USB charger which lets you charge your phone before you go to bed. Really like this clock and the price is right!
A Great Clock Radio if you are on a budget.
January 2, 2017
I really like the Alarm Clock Radio, only complaint I have is with the instructions, they could save just a little more money by printing it just a wee smaller, my goodness, I had to break out my major magnifying glass just to be able to decipher what button to push to get the results I wanted. I really like the Smart Set, a feature that is needed to help you set your clock after a power outage, or when you first set it up. The Numerical display is really large and can be easily seen at night. It has a USB charging port, but the port does not charge very quickly, some of my devices even tell me to use another charging station. All in all, a very nice Clock Radio.
Great clock radio - easy to set up and use!
October 18, 2016
Great radio! Easy to set up including my right time zone. I do not find the blue numbers too bright at all, three different levels. Easy to set the alarms once you read the directions and do it a couple of times. Radio quality good. Came promptly, well packed. I had to return a different brand becuz the buzzer was too soft. This buzzer alarm starts softly but builds and is loud enuf to wake me up. Good clock radio for the money! Very pleased.
Good little clock.
April 6, 2016
I love these clocks, especially their self-setting feature. I had an older version that started getting off by 5 or 6 minutes, and the time zone was all screwed up when they changed the date for daylight savings... so I got this new version. The blue numbers are not too bright or distracting for me, but it is all the way across the room as the numbers are large enough to station the clock further away.I do recall the daylight savings hour changing being at least a few days off, though, but it righted itself eventually!
All the features I wanted!
October 25, 2015
I finally decided to replace the Emerson clock radio I've had for years that is programmed for the old daylight savings dates. This is the only one I found with the features I wanted--mainly to have one alarm time for weekdays and a different time for weekends. The auto setting and auto daylight saving setting is great too. Big bonus for this one, the radio is GOOD. (The radio on my old one is crap.) It is easy to read the clock without my glasses on, but as others have mentioned it is a bit too bright. I will probably put something over the front to dim it a little bit.

Hard to find a good clock radio these days.....but this is it !
December 9, 2016
I write very few reviews, something's really gotta knock my socks off. I rely on a clock radio to wake me up in the morning. I also use this time, around 15-20 minutes, to listen to the news and weather. My trusty clock radio bit the dust a month ago and I've been using my cell phone to wake me up ever since. I looked at local big box stores and searched online to find a good replacement. It took about a week to find this on Amazon (not sure why....maybe just missed it in my search) and the reviews were very good so I purchased it. I am simply blown away by the sound that comes from this little box. Crisp, clear with plenty of bass and all the other things you look for in a real stereo system (do they still call them that?). The set up was simple and just one button is pushed to set and cancel alarm as well as turning on the radio. Love it. I highly recommend this product.
Easy, though not intuitive, perfect for my needs
September 21, 2016
So pleased with this alarm clock radio! The one I had been using for years finally kicked the bucket and I needed a replacement. I bought one for $10 at Target and it was absolutely terrible, so I was nervous this might disappoint as well but it hasn't. It definitely isn't as intuitive as my previous clock, but after reading the instructions I had no trouble setting the time or alarm. I was also thrilled you could dim the lights on it because this sits right next to my bed and was a little on the bright side. Can't tell you how happy I am with this purchase! Well worth it - even if I did have to wait several weeks for it to ship and arrive. I hate using my phone as an alarm, so this has been perfect for me. I definitely recommend it!
Outstanding Timex T236B Alarm Clock Radio, featuring an Attractive Design, Compact and Strong Construction, and Superb Function
July 28, 2016
This Timex T236B model is an excellent Alarm Clock Radio, which has a number of useful features. It is compact and light, and it features a very sharp-looking design, as well as strong and durable construction. It is characterized by high quality, along with superb functionality and reliability. I give this Timex T236B Alarm Clock Radio a five-star rating, and my highest recommendation.
Finally a clock that works
March 14, 2016
I do not understand people who give this clock a low rating. If you want a clock that is easy to setup, easy to use, picks up radio stations well, and keeps accurate time, look no further. There is so much junk on the market, but Timex has created a winner. I do not care about bluetooth, CDs, mp3s, charging stations, or anything non essential fluff. We wanted alarm clock that works and this is it. You will not be disappointed.
Very good value. Great features.
October 26, 2015
I love the USB port. I can keep my cell phone or kindle on my bedside table and recharge it. The display is easy to read and it sets itself to the proper time. We have a lot of power fluctuations where I live and this clock has never waivered. I have yet to oversleep when using it. I like the alarm on it. It starts off so quiet that only the dogs hear it and then gradually gets louder. I hate being awakened with a screaming alarm. The only negative is that the buttons are hard to locate in the dark. I have to turn the light on to figure out which button to push to silence the alarm. It's a minor issue.Overall I love the clock and would recommend it.
Just what I needed
August 4, 2015
Convenient and very easy to use! I love the fact that I can set the alarm for the whole week (Mon. - Fri.) and then remove it for the weekends by just hitting one button. Also love that you can SAVE your favorite stations, just like you have on your car radio.... No more of that old fashioned dial to tune into your stations. And, you can also charge your cell phone. Another bonus!

Great Clock
September 9, 2017
Love that it resets itself.Good size (see dimensions listed on this page).VERY BRIGHT. I don't mean, "Well, it's a little, bright, isn't it, dear." I mean, "Wow! That's bright. You got anything over there to throw over it until morning?" We had to put it face down on the nightstand while we awaited the Dim It Light Dimming Sheets, which we did not order at the same time.Check the "customers also bought" section to get these valuable additions.Easy to set up. 5 star product now that we've addressed the brightness issue.
Does what it needs to do.
July 30, 2016
I like the fact that you do not need to set this clock on set up or after power failures. It does have a battery for power failures which was not mentioned in the description. I needed to read the instructions well to understand the functions of the buttons which have two functions for each button so that was a little confusing. I was worried that the light would be too bright but the high setting is fairly dim and the low setting is quite dim which is what I like. On the dim setting you can not see the time from across the room in the daylight but that does not concern me. The audio quality of the radio speaker is not great but I don't plan to use it except possibly as a wake up alarm so it is fine. All in all I am happy with the purchase.
Easy to use, but too bright
June 11, 2016
Very easy to set , my only complaint is that it is very, very bright, even on low it really lights up the room. I had to put a towel over it to block the light. I WISH, wish, wish someone would make a clock that you can turn OFF the display, make it either voice activated or touch activated light. There are many of us who can't stand any light in the room when we try to sleep.
Great, affordable clock
June 1, 2016
I'm really surprised by the number of poor reviews here. This clock looks great. The blue display has several settings including one that is very dim. It has a usb port on the back for charging other items. As soon as I plugged it in, it automatically set the date and time. The only reason I am deducting one star is that the alarm/radio is not easy to figure out. We put this in our guest room and if someone want to set the alarm, they are going to have to read the instructions. It is not intuitive. It would be nice if they added a couple more buttons for setting the alarm and controlling the radio. Otherwise, this is a great clock radio.

March 18, 2016
The physical item itself feels very cheap but it serves it's purpose. It was easy to figure out how to work the different features after reading the directions. I like the fact that you can set a timer for the radio to turn off while you go to sleep. I bought this clock for my son and he wanted to listen to music while he laid down to go to sleep at night. It's perfect to be able to set the timer for the music to turn off after an hour and then the alarm goes off in the morning to wake him up. The option to have 2 alarms is also nice, especially to set one to a radio and one to a buzzer or both to one or the other. The alarm definitely starts out very quiet and eventually gets louder. It's not so startling!
Great quality for a low price
August 28, 2015
The radio was packaged very nicely, setting it up was a little bit difficult but nothing that couldn't get figured out doing it slowly. The radio quality and volume is very respectable, volume level is from 1–16. The digital tuning part is so useful compared to having to guess on the old-fashioned kind like tuning it with a little bar on station. I would recommend this clock to any of my friends if they're looking for a good quality low-price dual alarm/radio clock

Good alarm clock for the money
April 14, 2017
This is a good solid alarm clock. Now that I've gotten used to having the 2 alarm option, I really like it because I have one alarm set for my Mon-Fri weekday wakeup time and one set for Sat-Sun wakeup time. I purchased this alarm clock because the one I got most recently had an alarm that was really loud and jarred me awake. This one has a beeping alarm that gets progressively louder and is a much calmer way to wake up. The version I received only has FM stations (no AM option) but the sound is remarkably good for the price of the unit. My clock also has a green display (no red option) as was mentioned in the description when I bought it. The only reason I did not give this clock five stars is because the dim setting on the display is still much too bright in my opinion. It literally lights up half of my bedroom at night. I like everything else about the clock so I've ordered some light dimming film to reduce the brightness at night and in the meantime have been covering it with a dark washcloth at night. I would recommend this alarm clock.
Not bad
March 28, 2017
I don't use the alarm of this, just the clock. There are two levels of brightness, although I wish there were more as the lowest is a bit brighter than I'd like. The USB port is nice, and I ran an Amazon Echo Dot off of it for a while, so it seems to be capable of sourcing a decent amount of current. The auto-clock-setting feature is a bit misleading. What it really means is that the clock is preset from the factory and includes a backup battery to keep that time. Since all clocks drift, this means that inevitably it will arrive at your house a few minutes off, especially if it has sat in a warehouse for a while. Whether this bothers you or not is a personal preference, but if you have to adjust it anyway (which is trickier than most alarm clocks) than this feature is useless.
Alarm Clock is Fine
January 23, 2017
We wanted this item mainly for the alarm clock. The numbers are large and easy to read. The radio itself is small so it doesn't take up a lot of space which is nice. The directions for setting the alarm are fairly easy to understand but could be simpler. It took us a couple minutes to figure out how to disarm the alarm completely. Instead of a simple on or off button, you must push the alarm button a few times in rapid succession. The radio sound is not real high quality but since we bought the radio for the alarm, that is not a huge issue. It is difficult to find alarm clocks these days.
Pretty good
January 12, 2017
Great clock, everything works well. Son likes the USB to charge a cell phone. Only 4 starts because the clock numbers are way too bright, even on the low setting. My son just turns the clock so it's not facing him in bed and he is a deep sleeper luckily.I still can't figure out the buttons, but my son is fine with it.
Good clock with minor problems
November 21, 2016
So far I like the clocck. It says in the instructions that the USB charger does not work in AM radio mode. No problem, I listen to FM and it charges my Iphone 6S just fine. I was surprised that it did not set the time exactly to the minute. Once you pick the time zone and daylight savings time or not, it comes up with approximately the correct time in minutes. Mine was about 2 or 3 minutes off. It is very easy to advance, add or subtract a few minutes, so no problem. The buttons on the top are all flush, therefore, I put a velcro fuzz sticky on the on/off button so I could find it in the morning to turn of the alarm. I like the red display because it does not seem to affect my sleep like the other colors. The lowest setting is still fairly bright but both my wife and I don't seem to have a problem with it. Somebody mentioned you can buy sticky dark films to put on the time to darken the display. You can buy those right here on Amazon. So far I think the clock, after looking at its totality of funtions and versitility, make up for any small questionable problems it has.
So Far, So Good!
July 17, 2016
Just got this, so only giving 4 stars, as full satisfaction yet to be determined. So far, so good, though! I am well pleased. To address others critique regarding lack of intuitive buttons, I agree. That being said, I can't ever remember a clock radio with easy setup/use. I can't fault this particular clock. As for radio quality, it is an improvement from my old one. Keep in mind, this is a clock radio, not a stereo. I look forward to using this clock radio, and would recommend it to others,

its not easy to figure out which time zone you are - ...
July 10, 2017
The clock messes up AM and PM - so watch out when setting your alarm, and when you plug it in, even thought it says that it sets itself - make sure you check what year it says. I unplugged mine yesterday and when I plugged it back in, the clock thought it was 2012. I also find that you have to set your time zone, so without reading through the booklet, its not easy to figure out which time zone you are - unless you set it and just see what time it is after selecting the zone. The one thing with this clock that REALLY makes me miss my old clock is the fact that daylight savings time doesn't just adjust itself - my last clock had that feature - it was great. Oh, and everyone talks about the brightness - even when on dim, IT IS really bright.
It is basically a good alarm clock
May 2, 2017
It is basically a good alarm clock. However, I returned it because we did not like the display. There were 2 major problems for us. First, the dim setting is too dim and the bright setting is too bright at night. But mainly the numbers are too close together horizontally, making it difficult to read across the room at night. This is particularly problematic with the digit that is to the left of the colon, and especially if that number is a "1". It blends in so close to the colon that it is difficult to distinguish the time. We could likely have lived with the display brightness issue, but combined with the close spacing of the numbers, it just didn't work for us.
I have an older version of this that I loved. I love that it resets itself
September 29, 2016
I have an older version of this that I loved. I love that it resets itself, has a battery back up and has two different alarm settings. However, the buttons started sticking and I thought it was time to upgrade. I wanted one just the same. I'm seriously thinking about using my old one again. This is fine, it works, I'm just not a fan. The blue light is bright! I have it on the lowest setting and it lights up my entire bedroom. If it's facing you, which is the point of a clock to me, it shines really bright in your eyes. In the daylight, you can barely see it though. The buttons are ok, but the one to turn off the alarm is too small and in a weird place. I fumble with it every morning and I've had it for a while now. It's awkward trying to set it because the two buttons are right beside each other. It works, but I wish they didn't have to change it entirely from the older version.
Some nice features but difficult to use
December 19, 2015
I like this clock for my purpose. I wanted a dim green display for the bedroom where my wife does not like any light when sleeping. I gave this three stars because I would not be too happy with it otherwise. It does have some nice features such as the time is retained in a power outage and you can set the alarm for Mon- Friday only, or a second for Sat & Sunday only. But my two negative issues: 1. The display is not bright, even on high or bright it can barely be read in a well lit room. On the dim setting it can only be read in a in a pretty dark room. (again this was a plus for my special situation, but most people probably won’t like it). 2. The controls are anything but easy to use. They are not intuitive at all. I am a retired engineer who builds computers and it took me 5 to 10 minutes with the poorly written instructions to figure out how to use it. I have stayed in many motels and always use the little alarm clocks and never had an issue setting the time or alarm on any small clock radio until I encountered this one. As it is, the buttons on the top each serve dual or triple functions and not clearly labeled. The first time I quickly tried to set the alarm at bed time without the instructions, I gave up after several minutes of fiddling around and used my smart phone alarm instead. In order to set the alarm for a simple wake up the next morning I had to read the instructions and also do some trial and error, because the instructions are not clear. Don’t even think about this clock for motel rooms, a guest bedroom, grandma, or anyone not tech savvy if you expect them to set the alarm. For one user like me, once you figure it out it isn’t bad. But even for me, since I am retired and only set the alarm on occasion, I will keep the instructions nearby.
LIGHT IS VERY BRIGHT
October 23, 2015
Just got this clock yesterday... so far it seems to be o.k. The size is good. The only really bad thing is that oh my gosh, the light is bright even on dim. I had to put a towel over it for the night. Its way too bright for a clock for a bedroom. IF I can find something to cover the light - maybe some kind of film to put over the clock, I will keep it otherwise, this clock might be heading back to be returned.I like the way the clock sets itself for the time in case of power outage (or if you unplug the clock for some reason), its easy to set, etc.I would send this back but I've already spent an additional $8 on dimming sheets and would have to pay another $7 for shipping.I have 2 layers of dimming sheets and its still too bright!
This company has put out much better products in the past
November 9, 2014
This company has put out much better products in the past. I purchased this because my long time smart set alarm had stopped working after many, many years. I wanted one just like it but discovered they no longer made clocks that even remotely looked the same. Since I wanted another clock that reset itself when the time shifts forwards or backwards, I went ahead and purchased this. It is a very light weight plastic clock. Not much quality to it. I went ahead and got this one even though others had complained about the brightness of the blue light. They were right, it was way too bright for me to be able to sleep with it in the same room, it completely lit up the room. I tried for two nights and couldn't take it any longer so I moved it into the family room where I needed a glow in the dark clock and it works good in there. I ended up buying an older clock similar to the one I had off of ebay. That one had a dimmer switch for the clock light that this one is missing.

Too bright.Not for me.
May 4, 2017
I bought this clock radio for the USB charger and to replace another older radio that played my iPod upon waking. First the positives. It's a nicely compact radio and fits well on my nightstand. I get good reception. The USB charger works great. Now the negatives. The green display is way too bright even dimmed. I couldn't sleep and had to turn it face down. The USB charger is just that a charger. The AUX in is unreliable as an alarm. Unfortunately being the optimistic person I am I already threw out the packaging so I will put it in another room and find something else.
Not for use with iPhone 7s
March 26, 2017
Uhm, it works fine as a radio and a clock... but I purchased it so that I could plug in my iPhone 6 something to a USB cable and play what's on my phone. Apparently it's just a USB charging device, and won't play through the USB -- just through the aux cable. So now if I want to use it and charge my phone at the same time, I have to plug in both an aux and USB cable. I guess that means it's useless with iPhone 7s, since those don't have headphone jacks. So that's a little disappointing.
Fine but very bright
February 24, 2017
It is fine, as far as the exceedingly low standards for clock radios go. But the LED screen is so bright that we have to turn it around at night to face the wall. It might be ok if you want a night light. But if you want the room to be dark, this clock is too bright, even on the low light setting.
Too bright at night. . .
February 18, 2017
The unit I received had the green numbers. I loved 'ALL' of the features offered on this clock radio, except one. It needs an 'auto brightness control' or at the least, one more adjustment on the dimmer switch. On its lowest setting, it's still way too bright at night. Other than that, it's a great alarm clock!
This alarm clock does not seem to have a way ...
January 1, 2017
This alarm clock does not seem to have a way to change between red and green display as is indicated on the product page. Also there are two brightness levels: as bright as a sunny day at high noon and (the dimmer version) as bright as room light up with 60 watt light bulbs. The buttons seem acceptable, but the brightness level is obscene.
"New" clock radio received with dead batteries installed?
September 13, 2016
Clock radio appears to work correctly. Only complaint is that the item arrived with evidence of being opened previously and with two dead batteries in the clock/radio. Since this item does not include batteries with a new unit I can only believe that it was a customer return which was then resold as new. I was under the impression that I was buying a new item. Even if refurbished an item like this must not have batteries installed for long periods of shelf time. Also, an item with dead batteries makes it very obvious what happened.

Shopping for a new clock radio
September 20, 2017
Here I am, shopping for a new bedside clock radio less than six months after purchasing this. When I first unboxed it, I noticed two things immediately. First, the controls on top were virtually impossible to see for someone without the best vision. All the labels are molded into the black plastic which makes them nearly impossible to see in a bedroom without super lighting. Second, the sound was real tinny. but it is a small cheap, radio so I guess speakers add hugely to the cost.Which brings me to today: the sound of the music now fades quickly. I turn it off, turn it back on, it plays at the full volume I set it at, then fades. If I touch the plastic of the radio body... the sound fades in and out! If I run my hand over the body, the sound comes and goes with the movement of my hand. I did r/r the AC cord, which seems to have restored functioning a bit, but now I don't trust it.Save your $10 and get a $20 radio!
I have given this clock 2 months now, and ...
February 8, 2017
I have given this clock 2 months now, and have read the instructions probably 15 times. (You almost need an advanced degree to understand them). I bought the clock because the "sleep" button on my old clock is impossible to push. The sleep button on this clock is part of the snooze button, making it almost impossible to use while you're half asleep. I fear having to change my time of wake up, and will often use my old clock (my husband refuses to use this one so the old one is still in our room). On two occasions I have turned the alarm off, only to have it go off again 9 minutes later. I so regret buying this clock, and have gone back to my old clock, even though you have to hold the sleep button down really hard to get it to reset.
Readout keeps disappearing
January 31, 2017
The screen keeps going blank on this clock The numbers just randomly disappear. When I hit the snooze button, the clock resets itself and the numbers come back. Go figure. But if the numbers go out in the middle of the night, the alarm is not going to go off. I don't recommend this clock. I'm tired of cheap junk made overseas in sweatshops.Update: The gradual alarm function, which is the reason I bought this thing, has quit working. It now comes on at max volume, making you jump out of bed.
I HATE when the alarm goes off
January 24, 2017
This clock had SO much potential. I HATE when the alarm goes off. The volume for the alarm is not adjustable and it blares the radio. This is not how I want to wake up. The separate weekday/ weekend alarms are great, the auto daylight savings time adjustments are great, just make it wher the alarm volume can be adjusted!
Very annoying to have to consult the printed instructions each time
December 12, 2016
Very tinny radio sound! Extremely complicated system of setup, both for radio and buzzer alarms. Very annoying to have to consult the printed instructions each time, to reset alarms, etc. Also, the printed instructions are very difficult to read! The best thing about this clock-radio is the size of the display, but even that is just TOO BIG! I bought two of these, for two homes, and won't return them because it's too much of a hassle --- but I do NOT recommend this brand of clock-radio! Maybe I'm just spoiled; I've had a SONY cube next to my bed for many years, and I loved it.
Disappointed
March 25, 2016
Very disappointed with it. The light from the clock was very bright even on dim. Would be good for a nightlight. Also there is no way to turn the alarms off completely. I work 2nd shift and do not need an alarm very often but want to be able to turn it off if need be. What ais a person to do when on vacation? I sure don't want the alarm going off. It was sent back and I ordered a different one. The return policy is very clear and easy to do so was glad for that.

Don't bother if you like a dark room.
August 25, 2017
I have a lot of requirements in a clock radio, and this one seemed to fit the bill by the description. However, it does not.1. There is no option to have an alarm that will wake you on weekdays and another on the weekends, without turning off the first alarm. The description is misleading.2. The dimmest setting is still way too bright. The sound is really good, and the auto time setting was cool. I will be returning this clock and continuing my search for one that fits my very stringent requirements.
Looks nice, but a huge pain to use
August 10, 2017
Looks nice out of the box, but green light is super bright even when dimmed (had to buy dimming strips & put 3 layers on). The functional usability is what is really annoying. The buttons are smooth on the top (not raised) so good luck trying to figure out how to snooze, reset, or change volume or station when you wake up groggy. Instructions are also poorly written, and how buttons are use seems odd. Will be replacing with a $15 simple alarm clock soon. Ugh...
Nice looking product but it has one major fault
April 28, 2017
Nice looking product but it has one major fault. The display only has two brightness settings, bright and less bright. On the less bright setting it was way too bright at night. I was disappointed that it would not set the time automatically. This was the main reason I selected this unit. It was easy to set manually but why did I have to do it. The clock has a manual switch on it to add or subtract one hour for daylight savings time.I sent the clock back after one day.
Too Bright!
March 21, 2017
Don't buy this! The display is way too bright even with the dimmer levels. I bought a sheet of "dimm its" to put over it, turned it away from me, and its still too bright! My room isn't small either. I will stick with the red display going forward. The buzzer alarm is too loud and the radio volume is hard to get to the right volume. Setting the time is also weird the way the buttons work. I've had several alarm clocks over the years and never this much trouble with the basics. The large buttons, ability to charge a phone, and compact size is nice.
Way too bright

The clock works well, BUT....it is extremely bright. So much so that it casts shadows of our ceiling fan at night. This is on the low or dim setting! It is hard to believe this clock is intended for a bedroom. It does make a great nightlight, if light does not disturb your sleep.
If had kept time I would have recommended it.

Pros:There are two alarms with different tones, one louder than the other. It has a dimmer so it does not keep me awake at night. It does a good job of charging my phone quickly.Cons:It doesn't keep the time well. I recently noticed it has lost more than 5 minutes since I plugged it in when I purchased it 4 months ago.The alarms are quiet. If you are a heavy sleeper, look at other clocks. If you are a medium to light sleeper, this one would probably work for you if yours keeps time properly or you don't mind resetting it every few months.Bottom line: I would have recommended this clock for light to medium sleepers if I had not not confirmed my suspicion that it was losing time. I only wish it would have done so a little quicker so I could have returned it. If you order it, pay careful attention to the time compared to say, your cell phone for the first two months and return it right away if you see it lose even a minute. Because of my experience with time loss, I cannot recommend this clock.

0 for 2 - high hopes dashed
May 22, 2017
I was replacing a very old radio alarm clock and had high hopes. The first one I received the radio tuner was working only 30% of the time. I figured I'd exchange it for a replacement and all would be well. The second one I received the radio tuner was just as bad, and the "AM" indicator wasn't working so I couldn't tell if it was AM or PM when I set the alarm. The instructions are well written and very clear. There is supposed to be an "AM" indicator but nothing for "PM", which is fine as long as you realize this which I did and it worked on the first one but not the second. I loved the size, functionality that was advertised, the dimmer worked great. Very disappointing quality; I had to return this and as my first "Emerson" brand purchase this may also be my last.
A complete dud

The A.C. Power does not work. The unit would only work with the battery but will only power the clock for a few days. It's too expensive to send back, so into the recycle bin it goes.
Hope your clock doesn't malfunction...

When I first purchased this clock, I thought it was great. Easy to use and understand... but then, after 1 month... it's insides went BOOM! I noticed that the display was screwy so I unplugged the clock and plugged it back in. After plugging it back in, the display simply didn't come back on. The clock just stopped working. So I got my warranty out only to find that I would have to pay (at my cost) to send the clock back to Emerson plus include a check in the amount of $10. What a ridiculous warranty. It would cost me roughly the cost of a new clock to have it replaced under their warranty.. Shame on you Emerson for stating you have a warranty when in reality, you simply make the consumer purchase another one of your clocks. This is the last Emerson product I will ever own. Buyer beware!!!
Here's what I like, it automatically sets the time
November 18, 2016
I have gone through 2 of these clocks in the last 6-8 months. Here's what I like, it automatically sets the time, there are options to turn the alarm on for week or/and weekend so you can set your week. Here's where they lost me. I had to buy the tinting film and had to put 2 pieces over the bright blue light, which means at night I can see it but during the day I can't, which isn't make or break for me. But the power cord on both items don't seem to work. The first clock I had it only worked for 2 weeks, this one just went out and is plugged in. My guess is that's why they send this replacement with a battery already put in. The alarm goes from loud for the first 4 seconds to wake up the whole household if you don't respond to hitting the button in those 4 seconds. Overall very unenthused about this companies quality.
Believe the bad reviews; do NOT buy!

This clock just died, barely 16 months after we bought it. Specifically, because it sets it self from a wireless source (atomic clock) it decided that the year was 2012 and we lived in a completely different time zone. There is no way to override this. You cannot manually set the time. As previous reviewers have said, the brightest setting is very dim. We could read it at night, but could not read it in the morning or during the day.We have a previous model that I wanted to purchase again (CKS1702) but it is no longer available. This model is great and still running strong. It is a shame this one is no longer available.
where's the window?
December 26, 2015
I really didn't like this thing...it's non-intuitive and therefore difficult to learn how to use. I DID like the low light LED since I hate how bright they are. I also liked that it would reset its time, until it wouldn't anymore and had to be manually reset. After finally setting its radio channels, it "forgot" them too when accidentally unplugged. At one point, it got me so frustrated I contemplated tossing it out of my window. But I didn't. It's still here, bothering me every time I look at it.

Do not buy this clock

The instructions are hard to understand the clock is hard to understand I would never buy this clock again. I have gotten two clocks now and they are designed the same they are impossible to understand. And once you think you got it figured out you don't. The display is way too bright. It has two settings but even the dimmest one is too bright .
Some of the disply lights aren't working
May 22, 2017
Update: Now 2 months after purchase, another light isn't working. I think I got the lemon in the batch. Again, I recommend checking it so you can return it if you have problems. I'm glad it didn't cost that much. I changed my rating to 1 star.Original Review: Clock was received quickly and works well with one problem. One of the lights which helps create the numbers is not working. I would return it for another but I was in a move when I received it and didn't open it until now. It doesn't matter to me but the time is displayed with a green light, rather than the red that is pictured. It also is quite bright, even when in the "dimmed" setting. If you buy this, be sure to open it and check it out. See that all the numbers show correctly and that the brightness doesn't bother you. I hope this helps you.
Do not operate while trying to wake up.

The display is WAY TO BRIGHT. The controls are too close together, are not illuminated and are all just crowded together. So it works fine if its DAYLIGHT and YOU are AWAKE. If you are trying to shut off your alarm- be prepared to change the pre set station, turn off or on alarm 2, find out what year it is, reset the date and time, turn on the snooze feature.

Today at 8:49 PMI recently bought this clock and plugged it in and everything was great. Then the second day it started flashing on and off and had the following numbers 18:8.8 on it. So I called Customer Service, and they said it was defective. Then I plugged it in the next day, and it worked fine for the next 6 weeks, and then it started doing it again. It's a really nice clock, but doesn't do me any good if it's defective and doesn't keep time.
I don't recommend this horrid clock
November 21, 2016
The radio doesn't pick up well, even with the antenna wire, so there is some static. The buttons are not raised, and there is nothing to differentiate between the two alarm buttons so when you set an alarm, or try to silence the alarm, you have to physically look at it to find the button. The red display has a bright and dim setting but even on dim it is too bright. I do not like this clock and would not recommend it. Update: the radio alarm function no longer works. No matter how it is set, the alarm will only beep. Update: the radio started working again.
Very dissapointed

I don't know why it is so hard to find a good clock-radio. From the description this one seemed promising. But there are some big problems. Small problem is that the lowest dim setting is still far to bright. I solved this problem by lying the radio on its face at night.Second problem is with the USB plug. I thought this would be a good way to charge my phone at night but the plug only receives power when the radio is set to that input. Silly to not just always have power to that outlet. Also the buttons are a little odd. Nothing is really wrong with them but it's a bad setup.Forth problem was the deal breaker for me. If you fall asleep with the radio on this one isn't for you. The lowest volume setting is far too loud. I have solved this problem by putting my radio in my nightstand drawer at night.I guess I look for four things in a clock radio and this one failed on most of them. The sound quality does seem fine. Tl;dr too bright, no sub power, bad buttons l, and too loud.
