Five Star Reviews: | 63% Great bass guitar for a beginner May 19, 2017 Great bass guitar for a beginner. Good sound quality for the price. Amp however is another story. If purchasing again, I'd buy the guitar but get a better amp. Can't go wrong. January 25, 2017 Overall, a great kit and a FABULOUS looking guitar. VERRY nice build quality, the wood especially. It felt like it was a lot more expensive than it was. However, while the amp was amazing for the price, it did buzz a little bit when you set one of the tuning knobs on the guitar one way. Easy fix, but I kinda wanted to be able to use that knob for a purpose OTHER than just for not-buzzing.The strap is somewhat uncomfortable, no padding, but does its job. No complaint, because again, MONEY.Overall a fabulous product that you can't go wrong with. I have always been interested in learning about how to ... December 7, 2016 I have always been interested in learning about how to play the Bass Guitar. This Bass Guitar that I purchased, along with the amplifier is worth every dollar spent. I take my Bass Guitar, and my amplifier with me wherever I go. I use my spare time practicing, and learning all the different notes. Excellent bass and amp for the price August 24, 2016 Bought it purely to use with Rocksmith 2014. Works well with the Rocksmith program although level still isn't as high as with electric guitar. My acoustic/passive electric bass didn't provide enough of a signal for the program to detect. This Bass has just the one pickup, but does have individual adjusters at the bottom of each string to ensure proper pitch on the frets. Neck has tension bar adjustment. Excellent bass and amp for the price. Would buy again. awesome July 10, 2012 My first bass!!! Shipping is good and i love the bass and that it has no problems. The amp is small but very effective. I definitely reccomend this bass to anyone and reccomend to buy it Just what we wanted...courteous staff July 28, 2011 The bass was everything my son wanted and a price he could afford. The amp had a short in it, but we received a replacement within 2 days and shipped back the first one courtesy of the seller. Everything works great now and he's having fun playing with his dad, sister, and grandfather | 70% i'm very pleased with the quality and price September 22, 2017 i was nervous buying a guitar stand without putting my guitar on it first. there are so many reviews out there about guitar stands falling over. this one is a good quality product, i tested how much it would take to topple the guitar and it's a reasonable amount and unlikely to happen under normal conditions. i don't think a dog passing by would knock it over, for example. i wasn't in love with having a stand with a neck rest because of how it looks but it doesn't look awkward and i see the security that it affords. Great, but holds my guitars crooked May 24, 2017 The quality is above what I expected. Although my guitars don't sit level. I think it's due to the fact that the bottom piece that holds the lower half of the guitar is on a sort of swivel that allows it to rock back and forth. It's stable once a guitar is on it but I can't seem to make my guitar perfectly straight up and down. It's one of those things though where it's hard to notice unless you're actually looking for it. Overall good product. Might buy a couple more. Bought for my Gretsch G5420T and one of my Martin guitars. It holds the thinner guitars well such as my fender and my Gretsch (I guess if you consider that a thinner guitar) as well as the thick acoustics. Not too shabby at all. Great stand at any price July 16, 2016 This stand works well and seems to be well built. Many reviewers are whining about the back leg being so short and the unit being unstable. I find that to be incorrect, unless their children destroy everything in sight. I have four of these stands and none of them have ever damaged any of my basses, A Fender Jazz Bass V, four string Ibanez, five string Ibanez, and six string Ibanez. None of these are inexpensive or light weight instruments. When I need additional stands, these will be my choice. Just a beginner, but I like it. June 20, 2016 I've just begun picking up bass, and as such i've been practicing everyday. Getting the bass out of the bag every day to practice was starting to become a pain so I picked this up to sit in the corner of my room. it's very easy to grab my bass, practice and put it back. Anywhere the touches the guitar is covered in a foam type material. The kick stands are rubber. It also comes apart which makes it easy to move around.I really like it. There's a small rubber locking mechanism for your guitar that's at the top. I've found it's very easy to take off and put it back on.All in all I really love this thing, it's made practicing much less of a process every day, I can just grab the bass and practice. Very good, especially for the price. April 16, 2016 I own several of these. They are solid enough, adjustable, and very good for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass. Also, these are cheaper here on Amazon than at Guitar Center. The only problem I've had with these stands is that the bottom part is too wide to support a Seagull 039227 Merlin Spruce SG Dulcimer 4-String Diatonic Instrument. For that instrument, I bought one of these: Hola! Heavy Duty Folding Universal Guitar Stand - Fits Acoustic, Classical, Electric and Bass Guitars - BlackHola stands are good, but don't have the upper support that these On State stands have. I think these stands are better for guitars and basses. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 20% Fun to Play October 28, 2016 For the money this was a good buy. The amp has distortion but for the money I can't complain. I had to make a few adjustments to the bass - truss rod, and height of the strings. I enjoy playing with YouTube tunes. Lots of value for the money. Great Bass Not so Great Amp October 10, 2016 I have been playing with this Bass for a few days now. I bought this as a replacement for one that i had stolen a few years ago. I am just a beginner but i have a little bit of experience.Receiving the BassWhen i got the Bass it was packaged securely along with the amp and accessories in one box. (mine shipped USPS)The BassThe Bass itself has nice balance and weight distribution. The knobs have a nice size and design and the post have a nice smooth feel when adjusting. It may be a little heavy for a smaller person but all the basses i have seen are heavy but with my size it is a nice fit for me.i have only 2 issues with this guitar First the output jack is located on the bottom which causes the cable to hit my leg when i am sitting If it was on the front and not the bottom i wouldn't end up hitting the cord with my leg which i am afraid will eventually damage the cord and the jack. Also if you don't have a stand and lean it on the wall it bends the cord in the same place. Second the tuning pegs are a little on the loose side and are easily knocked out of adjustment. making tuning a bit of a challenge. I haven't looked to see if there is an easy way to tighten them up though. The CordThe cord is ok because of how it connects to the guitar I am already getting a light crackle from right below the connector. this is where it hits my leg and bends. (see above). I will be replacing the cord with one with a 90 Degree end(s)The bagThe bag is ok to start with. Mine has no pockets and is thin with no padding. but not a big deal. I think it would have been nice to have a pocket which would be a better place to store the cable and little notes and such. Later on i will replace the bag with a better one with pockets and padding. The strapThe strap is hard to get onto the buttons on the guitar. I had to slice the leather a little bit more to get it on and one end of the strap has a string on it which popped off where i almost dropped my new guitar. i removed the string and the strap is now a little short. I am going to just buy a strap that is a bit longer and has a pad.The picksThe picks i just tossed aside. I have never been able to play using picks. But they seem nice and decent quality. The AmpThe Amp is where this unit lost a star (almost 2). The external build quality is good nice sleek design easy access to controls. It is not too heavy, and has a decent carrying handle. The internal build quality leaves something to be desired. The controls are all scratchy and it makes a loud pop when turning it on and off, this is with no cable plugged in and all the controls turned down. It also picks up RF interference from electronics that are close by. it even picked up clicking from my tv remote.(don't ask me how) The speaker has a "tinny" sound to it and is hard to get lower frequency response out of it . Lastly it would have been nice to have an easy way to store or contain the power cable, a simple velcro strap on the back would allow an easy way to keep the cord from dragging and getting tangled up. I am going to do this on mine.Final ThoughtsAll in all though this would be a good starter unit for someone just starting out and wanting to learn. Make sure you get a good tuner that plugs into your guitar i have been using an app on my phone and it is a real pain to do with the sound quality of the amp and the loose tuning pegs. Four Stars September 21, 2016 Nice starter set, but strings are not the best quality. Busted one tuning it for the first time. Decent bass..... December 6, 2015 After reading other reviews, I decided to purchase this bass guitar for myself, as a gift for Christmas. As far as the bass itself, it's nicely done. I can tune it well. It has about as nice a tone as one can expect with subpar strings. The amp does the job, it's lightweight which makes for easy transport, if that's your thing. It's great for a beginner, for sure. The biggest problem was the packaging. The guitar arrived with the head popped out of the box. It caused scuffing on the end. Purely cosmetic and something I fixed with a tiny piece of sandpaper. The manufacturers packaging needs a padding of Styrofoam or something, to protect the ends. It was literally sticking out of the box and the only thing covering the guitar was a thin sheet of wrapping foam. Also, the neck was on the end with the amp, it's not a light box and is very long. I was surprised honestly that it wasn't broken. You got a good thing going here, it's a decent bass. I would suggest fixing the way it's packaged. Consumers expect to get what they pay for, in one piece. Updated: Very decent bass for the price April 5, 2015 UPDATE: After failing to fix the bass myself and with the help of Davidson's support techs, I returned it and just tested the replacement they sent me. No burrs on the fret board, no ground noise when connected to a powered mixer. I can actually use this bass for recording now, which is a very good thing for a budget bass. I'm sure most purchases with be far less headache than mine was, so as of now I will say this is a good buy for beginners.Old Review:The sound is not bad for a budget bass. I am still very new to playing, so this seems like a generally good one for practice. Sadly this guitar had me practicing my DIY repair skills more than playing initially. The build quality is rough to say the least. The first thing I noticed was the rattling of a loose washer on one of the tuning heads. No big deal, I just tightened up the nut to secure it better.Next I plugged it into the bundled amp. Some loud persistent buzzing put a quick end to that attempt. After some testing I determined that there is a bad ground in the bass guitar itself. I also picked up some battery powered Vox Amplugs which made the sound more bearable (some mild popping still occurs when touching the strings). I still have yet to open it up and check the wiring inside the bass. The ultimate sign of craftsmanship for this guitar was the fret board. Every single fret was jutting out beyond the width of the neck, just enough to snag your fingers. Not only that, but they were also sharp as hell. I'll admit that I did give myself a nice cut trying to play it. Fortunately, they were easy enough to shave down with a small metal file. I added a photo of the frets closer to the body that I have not filed down yet so you can see how far they stick out. Will this be worth my purchase after I finish fixing it? Despite it's initial flaws, I do like the action, tone and weight of it.Would I buy it again? Nope. Great sounding instrument December 31, 2014 Great sounding instrument. Good looking. Only gripe would be about the strap hook on the butt of the guitar. It is fastened by a small nail which does not have enough strength to hold that much weight. On the first day it stripped out of the wood and the guitar fell to the floor causing damage to the finish and chipped the wood. Maybe a larger, deeper screw would work better? | 17% Great stands, great price. April 12, 2017 I've purchased many of these over the years and though they seem to be getting a little "economical" in their construction - still can't beat them for the bang for the buck. Ever since I had a guitar slide off a stand (many, many moons ago) on stage, I've always went with these. The neck strap is a godsend. It works, but you get what you pay for March 24, 2017 As other reviewers have mentioned, this stand is a bit thin and not very stable. Thanks to those reviews I don't pick it up with the guitar, I move them separately. I used to set my cheap guitar next to me - against the bed, a table, the couch, whatever, and it would fall over sometimes when bumped lightly. When I bought a good guitar I also got this stand and it works as a safe place to put it nearby between playing, and then move it out of the way when I'm done. So I have to be careful to keep the thin cheap tubing in mind when moving and when placing the guitar in the stand, but other than that it's fine for how cheap it is.It does what it's meant to, hold the guitar.Double check your guitars finish, some will interact with the foam padding. Good stand! April 23, 2016 Seems to be pretty reliable stand that is very easy to put together. My guitar only sits on the stand in my room, so i don't know how easy it is to travel with the stand. The quality of the materials seems high. The only thing that I found less than ideal was that the support bar (U-shaped) at the bottom of the stand that the guitar rests on doesn't stay in place. It pivots, but stays in place when the instrument is resting on it. That, however, is a very minor complaint. Good, but not Great - has two issues December 29, 2015 I like this for what I use it for, which is a full size acoustic guitar. There are a few issues with it. The metal it's self is solid and put together well. The height of the neck from the swivel base (not the floor) is adjustable from 21" up to about 26" (and still able to use the screw in the back to secure the adjustable neck). The pictures are exactly what you get, so I didn't see the point of taking another picture of the stand. The two issues I have with this stand is 1. It is in fact very unstable. While it's just sitting around, it's nice and as long as it is out of the way then it's fine. If you barely push it diagonally to the back left or back right, it will easily fall over. If it is sitting in a corner you wont have to worry about it. If it is on a stage, in a more high traffic area, or if there are other items around that could push in to it or if you're in a rush to put it down, dog/kids in house - it could easily fall over. I have mine in a corner like most people probably do, however that's a major concern for a stand. The rear peg is just too short. 2. The pads on the metal aren't very high quality. Although they are fine for light use around the house and will probably last a year or more, they will wear out and need to be replaced for sure. They are not very thick but do the job.I really debated on giving it three stars, but for how I'm using it (in home only) and the price, I believe it rated 4 stars. If you want to take it with you somewhere, I would consider a different option. Great value, adequately stable. July 11, 2015 For ten bucks a toss, who can quibble? I wanted something that supported the neck, because I had a couple of mishaps with other designs. These are adequately strong and stable. Contrary to some other reviewers, I noticed no smell, I had no problems with the fittings or set screws, and had no significant instability problems. The stubby rear leg is not an issue: the stand is not going to fall over backwards. True, there is more possibility of falling forwards, but careful placement of the guitar body in the swiveling lower yoke will shift the weight and improve stability. It might make a difference what instrument you're using. Or, do what I plan to do and set these against a wall so nobody will hit them from the back.My only real complaint is that the legs do not lock positively into the deployed position, but tend to pop out of position. But when standing upright, the weight of the instrument plus the weight of the stand itself negates this issue. There are plenty of instrument stands out there with more features and much better protection. They also cost many times as much. These three are now at church, holding two guitars and a bass. They'll serve for years to come. Can't beat it for the price September 14, 2013 This stand was actually better than I was expecting. It works great for holding my guitar. The frame itself is made from good-quality metal, and the feet and back are angled well to hold the weight without tipping, sitting rather firmly. The neck cradle is cushioned with foam, as well as the prongs that hold the body of the guitar at the bottom. the neck cradle also has a rubber peice that you can hook across to help hold the guitar inside, in case it is bumped by someone walking by. the other aspect that I like is that the prongs at the bottom actually swivle a bit, to help adjust for different body styles. So it would be a decent stand for multiple body types, not just the basic ones. I can see this stand staying with me for a long time, and was well worth what I paid for it. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 8% Not worth the price. Get a cheaper bass kit. August 19, 2017 It's a okay bass and amp, but it's not worth the price. The amp made buzzing noises if you put the tone up too much, it's expected for a cheap amp so it's okay. But the major problem was that the guitar case smelled like some kind of animal pee. A cheaper beginner bass kit will have better quality than thiss one. Good for beginners who are starting to learn to play June 28, 2017 Good for beginners who are starting to learn to play. Quality is OK. It comes with an amplifier which is decent but not great. Good starter kit January 25, 2017 Great starter kit. If your kid doesn't want to play any more then you won't want to wring his neck because you spent 200 on a fender set. Be careful of the shoulder strap! October 28, 2016 Great starter set, but the shoulder strap popped off the guitar and we had to wood glue it back on. Otherwise, it's a great product and value! Good starter bass October 20, 2016 Good starter bass, the amp is trash and the jack on the bass is constantly loose are rattling around. I do like it though, a year later I still use it every day Quality Control Issues? September 27, 2016 The guitar seems to be good. But I'm new to guitars, and this is my first electric. That said, my only complaint so far is the strap button on the horn was so loose on arrival that I could pull the screw right out of the hole. I'll be repairing this simple problem on my own, but it's not a particularly good sign of adequate quality control from the seller or manufacturer. I hope I don't regret this purchase. | 5% Good stand, lousy security strap August 19, 2017 This is a good stand. It supports my guitar very well & I like how it has the appropriate lean to keep the guitar upright & safe. I gave the guitar stand a 3 because the security strap is poorly designed. When secured, it does its job. However, it is difficult to release or the anchored side pops out of the tubing. It is a quick fix to pop it back in. It is just a regular occurrence & annoying. Light duty stand June 7, 2017 Works fine. Nothing special. Three stars because it doesn't WOW me. It's a basic guitar stand that is light duty. Does the job, but the design is lacking April 22, 2017 The assembly was easy, but I kept thinking that something was wrong because there's no way to securely fasten the top piece to the bottom. I found it odd, and then I realized it's just made that way. It makes me uncomfortable because it seems unstable, but the guitar is fine. One day, I made the mistake of grabbing the stand by the top and the fell apart. Luckily, my guitar wasn't on the stand. Ok, but one little flaw March 13, 2017 I like the design, but they are hard to close down to a small size for transport. For some reason the inside tube will not slide easily into the outer tube. Something is stopping it move past the screw, even with is unscrewed all the way. I travel with these a lot a really needed them to fold down smaller than they do. A little disappointed. it held it just fine. The only thing that's kind of a drag ... March 10, 2017 Seemed a little unstable when first put together but once I set my guitar in it, it held it just fine. The only thing that's kind of a drag is the strap that goes across the neck of the guitar pops off sometimes when you go to get the guitar out. But it's a great product for the price! OK but didn't fit my daughter's Epiphone Pro February 8, 2016 It seems like an ok product but for some reason it does not fit my daughter's Epiphone Pro-1 plus acoustic guitar that we bought here on Amazon - the bottom piece is too shallow and so the guitar leans forward and would fall out if not for the crosspiece at the top - that just doesn't seem like a safe thing and so we are returning it and looking for something else. I don't think that is an odd-sized guitar but somehow it doesn't fit. I looked at the customer photos and I don't know how they got the back bar angled backward to prevent the instrument from falling forward, I think that must have been user-modified. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 3% Because it looks to me like it wasn't put together or measured right at all December 1, 2015 I've just received the bass and the strings seem very far off the neck, though I know nothing about bass so I don't know if it's normal. I do know the 12th fret is nearly a half step off my root note on each string and that should not be the case. I attached some pictures if anyone can tell me if this neck is just completely cut wrong. Because it looks to me like it wasn't put together or measured right at all.I really don't want to have to hassle with a return on this heavy thing... If anyone can tell me it'd be must appreciated. Full Size Electric Bass Guitar Starter Beginner Pack with Amp Case Strap Black Package October 27, 2013 Ok this guitar isn't bad, after I changed the pickups and strings, adjusted pretty much everything even the neck and well now it sounds pretty good. The amp it comes with is garbage, total garbage, it did not work right at all which I figured would happen. The case is also horrible, the top side split apart and every zipper broke on contact so its useless. The pics are cool but how many pics do you need to play p-bass. If your thinking about getting this don't, you'ed be better off going to guitar center or some place like that and get a better guitar for the same price. | 3% Mistake on my part August 30, 2017 I had purchased two of the stands prior to this purchase, the quality of this one seems inferior to the prior ones I would not recommend the stand it leans back to far The build quality is subpar look somewhere else get a better one. A whole lotta meh. Average at best. August 25, 2017 For the price, the are ok but if I had to do it over, I would get the On Stage heavy duty stands. They are definitely built better. When tightening down the neck holder of the lighter duty stands, the head goes askew to the base. The plastic band plugs that are supposed to help keep the guitar secure pull off easily. I pulled all mine off and put a little dab of super glue to keep them from popping off. You definitely get what you pay for! I would not gig with these for sure! flimsey May 7, 2017 For a few dollars more I could have gotten a much sturdier stand. Definitely, not what I would use for an expensive guitar. I am used to getting excellent items when sold by and through Amazon. Maybe store this one away, and buy a good sturdy stand. Two design flaws cause instability May 20, 2016 Two issues with this, either of which can lead to potential disaster. 1. The rear foot (the shortest one) is too short, making the stand too easy to tip backwards. I have another, similar stand, and it's engineered with a longer rear foot and is therefore much more stable. 2. The bottom brace is too wobbly, making it all too easy for a guitar not perfectly placed in the center (or not shaped perfectly round on the bottom--think Fender) to fall to one side under the weight of gravity. This almost happened to me with a very expensive stratocaster yesterday evening. I was lucky to catch the guitar in time. I would not recommend this product and will not buy another one. Simple things not so simple December 30, 2015 I got my first acoustic guitar for Christmas and was excited to get the stand to set it up in my home studio. However, when I got it, it was poorly manufactured. It seems simple enough for a manufacturer such as On Stage but the simplest things aren't so simple. The screw that holds the top arm in place and also allows it to slide if you loosen/tighten it was not properly molded or something so when you tighten it, it turns the top arm left. The more you tighten it the more it turns. This throws the whole guitar and thus the whole stand off making it no better than standing it up against the wall. I will be returning this and asking for a refund. Quite disappointed, not sure how it had such good reviews.UPDATE:Amazon Basics has a GREAT guitar stand for about $13. Very solid, very sturdy and low potential to break. Much better option. Don't buy if you actually want a locking stand. December 17, 2015 Stand is fine other than the completely useless "locking" mechanism which was my primary reason for purchasing. The top "U" has push-on plastic endcaps, with essentially a rubber band between them. When locked it's not too bad - but "unlocking" is pretty problematic. Since the plastic pieces just push on, the typically simply slide on when you are attempting to remove the "band" - only they are not supposed to and the plastic piece falls out of the band and rolls around on the flood. If you try what I did and use your thumb on the center of the plastic piece to stabilize it while removing the band the top of the plastic piece will fall off after a few times rendering the locking mechanism useless. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 6% Save the money, do not buy June 27, 2017 Would not recommend this bass, low quality and the strings are low quality. Dead on arrival June 25, 2017 This bass guitar arrived dead it did not played. Disappointed no quality control. Order chipped and not complete December 17, 2016 I bought this and opened it today. The bass had a huge chip on the bottom of it. There was no accessories bag or strap. Only the broken bass and amp. There wasn't even a cord to plug the bass into the amp. I'm very disappointed because this was a gift for my fiance and I feel bad because my gift for him sucked. I thought It was going to be an awesome gift because he has always wanted to learn how to play one but never had one. But now he still doesn't have one. I'll have to rate this with only one star until this is fixed. But the surprise is already ruined by this cheaply made musical equipment. I knew it wasn't top of the line for only 100 bucks but I didn't think it was going to get broken before we even had a chance to open it. Probably happened during shipping but still. I expected better. So, so, so bad. March 28, 2016 This is the worst bass in the history of basses to start on.The action is unbelievably high, truss rod was stripped so I couldn't fix the neck to help with that. I took it to a luthier and he said it would cost as much as the bass was worth to make it usable to even learn on. Lesson learned, don't buy a cheap instrument even to start with.*guitarist learning to play the bass* Load of lies March 3, 2016 Came broken, no amp cable, and told me I can get 30% refund or send a 6 foot box back to them for full refund.Don't bother, I guess you get what you pay for you can't put amp on two or it's all fuzzy and distorted have to play with headphones January 20, 2016 Missing volume knob and lots of chips in paint not good | 5% Terrible, horrible, don't waste you time or money, these are JUNK September 19, 2017 Of these 3, only one could be assembled from the parts provided. For the one I could put together, there is nothing secure about this product. Everything is loose, unbalanced, poor quality. The others couldn't be assembled because they arrived broken (poor quality plastic pegs that are supposed to hold the neck strap in place were broken off--no pieces in box which suggests these were broken prior to packing) as well as one neck strap was just not present. This falls into the category of "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is". I should have known better. Please learn from my mistake. The guitar stands are great, especially for the price May 31, 2017 The guitar stands are great, especially for the price, but one of the 3 was missing a piece at the top that holds the guitar in place. Not worth the hassle to return. Cheap and not worth it April 13, 2017 The stand didn't come with any instructions and it's wobbly. The neck moves around I am not confident of letting it hold my guitar. I'm going to purchase another stand as this really isn't up to the quality I am used to. ... back I knew I had bought a piece of crap! Are guitar stands supposed to swivel on the ... April 1, 2017 When I assembled this stand and found that the bottom "yoke" guitar rest swivels with NO LOCKING NUT at the back I knew I had bought a piece of crap! Are guitar stands supposed to swivel on the bottom rest? Who in their right mind would risk putting their prized instruments on this stand? Well under $15 bucks I should have know better!! Very cheap, mine broke on the initial setup. Only buy this if you are looking for an excuse to call Amazon support for a return. August 6, 2016 I opened the box, slid the top metal bar vertically down into the base, went to attach the tightening screw... it the hole was too big for the tightening screw to do anything. So, RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, the thing was useless. I was so disappointed because I own a B.C. Rich Warlock that can only be hung from its headstock, making floor stands difficult to find. The product is made from cheap and hollow [what feels like] aluminum... reminiscent of the cheap lawn chairs from the 1970's trailer parks. The only good thing from this was Amazon's support and they took care of my problem the day it arrived with a refund -- since I definitely didn't want another one of these terrible stands. Not Sturdy. The FretRest from Guitar Center is worth the extra $8. May 24, 2016 I have a couple of FretRest guitar stands I bought from Guitar Center (HT1010). They're $8 more so I figured these were probably the same thing, probably from the same factory in China, just with a different label. Save $8 why not right? Nope. They probably used about one-third less material so that's where some of that $8 savings came from.I immediately noticed how much shorter the back/middle leg was compared to the FretRest stand. But then I thought, maybe the FR is just unnecessarily long and this short one might work fine. I put my guitar on it, and pushed it (while holding it) and compared the two, and this one definitely doesn't put up much resistance at all. With a little push the thing will fall right back. The FretRest will actually hold it even with 2-3 times the pressure. That's the biggest problem. But everywhere else you look, the rubber feet, way smaller, the rubber latch, smaller, even the metal tubing is about one-third smaller.I have some fairly nice guitars, but even if I just had a basic guitar I probably wouldn't try to save the $8 and put it on this stand. It might be fine, but I'd rather spend an extra $8 and get a stronger stand.Take a look at the attached photos. The "On Stage" one is on the left. The "FretRest" from Guitar Center is on the right in all the pictures. And no, I don't work for Guitar Center or even particularly like them, but the stand from them is better than this one. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
