Stable and easy to attach
June 23, 2017
I was dubious whether this stand would really work for my very old second-hand keyboard... but it was simple. Just lay the keyboard upside down, and the stand bolts into place with a few twists of your screwdriver. My keyboard never leaves the corner of my craftroom so I didn't need or want a folding stand, but if you needed to transport the keyboard it would be just as easy to unscrew the stand, fold it up, and stick it in the car until you got to where you were going.
Use it on my Yamaha YPG-235
May 29, 2016
I bought this stand to use with my new Yamaha YPG-235. My keyboard came with a stand that was actually pretty good. But this one had good reviews, so I went for it. It works well is very sturdy. The only thing I didn't like is that the brackets to mount the keyboard do not light up for this keyboard. But it sits just fine on the stand. Just would have been nice if those could have been adjustable as well.
Very good buy.
April 21, 2016
Fit my Keyboard perfectly. The Yamaha NP-12 Keyboard. What can I say. The stand is a perfect fit. Because it is not adjustable you will have to use a stool that will fit your playing style but that is minor seeing as though it is much sturdier than the X Frame Stands. Do not hesitate to buy this one. It's a keeper if your keyboard is made for it.
Sturdy for a full digital piano
January 10, 2014
I bought this for my casio cdp 120 digital piano, which is 88-keys and weighs about 40lbs. The stability is great. I use it for sitting down, and the is much more leg room than an x style stand for sitting. Another nice touch is the soft pads for the keyboard to rest on.
Great Keyboard Stand For The Price
July 22, 2013
I had one of these that got bent with some heavier keyboards I use to use, so I bought a new one. It works perfect with my Roland FP4 which weight's 32lbs. It's stable and it dosen't rock front to back or side to side. It's light weight making it easy to carry. The legs are not long, so people don't trip over it when I'm doing a solo gig or band members when I do a band gig.

When I got the stand, there was some assembly required. The directions were not too clear. I assembled it worng and had to take it apart and re assemble. There are 2 main bolts that hold this stand together, it only came with 1. I went to a local hardware store and got the bolt and washers I needed. That would be the only issue.

All in all, it's a great stand for a light to medium light weight keyboard. Anything much over 40 lbs, you need something stronger. I had used a Roland xv88 for a while. The frame by a bold bent. So any of the new lighter keyboards like the 88 key keyboards like Korg Krome, Yamaha MOX8, Roland RD 300 family and Roland FP family, this stand is a good choice. Of course for 76 and 61 key keyboards, it's great.

I'm a full time musician and work about 32 gig's a month and do all types of gig's. The stand is holding up in every enviorment I use it in.

Very sturdy. I thought it would be too tippy for my antsy 6 and 9 year old boys, but is quite sure footed and they have not had a problem.
Fantastic product - well worth the investment!
April 29, 2017
this thing is super sturdy. Adjustable to 3 heights as mentioned, it's very comfortable and I use it to sit on when playing guitar. It is rock solid, and comes assembled so nothing to worry about in that area. Fantastic product.
STURDY WITH FIRM SEAT
December 27, 2016
This stand is sturdy and firm. It feels as good or better than any full size wooden piano stool. It is easy to assemble and break down and very portable. This was included in a package deal with a Yamaha P45 piano keyboard.

Great for the price. I needed something slightly taller to sit on than a chair. Exactly what I needed.
Very good bench.
February 22, 2016
We bought a piano that came with this bench as part of a package deal. I figured we wouldn't get much in the way of a bench, but we wanted the piano, so held off on purchasing another bench. I am so glad we did. The seat is thick and comfortable. It's very adjustable. You do not have to put it together, it comes completely assembled. My 8 year old, who is not a tall 8, uses this seat and can reach his keyboard perfectly. We have to put something under his feet, but we were more concerned about height than feet. He is a squirmer, even when he's playing, and this doesn't topple over or become unsteady.
Sturdy and looks good
July 31, 2010
This is a good solid piano bench and is not cheap looking. It looks surprisingly good with my electric piano. It's sturdy enough for large adults. I studied most of the piano benches offered on Amazon and read most of the reviews before deciding on this one, and have not regretted choosing it. I just wish I could store some music inside of it.

Works Great with my Yamaha Reface
August 16, 2017
For what you pay, this is a great pedal. (Got a discount with Prime)
I was expecting to receive a dinky pedal about the size of my hand. This is a sturdy large pedal, even wider than my guitar wah pedal. I bought this for use with my Yamaha Reface. This is a great buy for amazon Primer's.
The Only Pedal You'll Need
March 4, 2017
I love these flat FC5 sustain pedals. They are much more durable the standard pedals. Although I still have an original Yamaha pedal that I purchased back in 2002 and it still works perfectly till this day, I'm a little more partial to this one now. I've been using this pedal for 2 years now and I haven't had ANY problems with it. I bought this one to keep in my laptop gig bag, in case of a faulty pedal when I do gigs out.
Cheap but sturdy...
August 21, 2016
Basic sustain pedal. If using it at home I'm sure it will hold up. As a gigging musician, I go through a couple of these per year, but for the price I see it as the cost of doing business. Sure there are fancier more expensive models out there, but they all eventually break, usually at the point where the cable enters the pedal. They are designed to fail, so why spend more when a supply of these cheapies does the trick? HINT: if you want a long lasting sustain pedal, or any kind of pedal, try to find one that uses a detachable cord.
Sustain your NOTES
December 8, 2015
High Quality, great performance. Mind you this is a on/off pedal so if you are looking for 1/2 sustain then you are better off buying FC3. I like FC5 swell but this one feels more like the conventional pedals that a Acoustic Piano has. The spring offers enough resistance to give close to real feel.
Durable and functional - especially for live use
July 2, 2014
These sustain pedals take some getting used to, but they are much better for live use than the sustain pedals that operate more like a traditional sustain pedal, in my opinion. Here's why:

1) They don't have reliability issues - All traditional sustain pedals I have used (e.g., Yamaha FC4) develop problems with the actual mechanism (this includes models from Yamaha, On Stage and M Audio). They typically go down right in the middle of a live show, and either don't sustain or leave the sustain on at all times. Not fun. These little pedals never fail. I have had one for over 20 years, and it always works. Sometimes you need to re-tighten the side screws after extended use -- but that's it.

2) They don't slide around as much as FC4 type sustain pedals -- much easier to keep reined in under your feet when performing - whether you stand or site when you play.

3) They work better with Ultimate Support APEX-type stands -- because you can fit the sustain pedal in front of the feet on those stands. FC4-type sustain pedals must be angled sideways to be usable with an APEX-type stand unless you want to stand at a strange angle while playing. Angling those pedals will work -- but it further shortens the time you have before that type of sustain pedal wears out. Also, when you stand and play, you don't need to raise your foot as high with these FC-5 type pedals -- much less fatigue.

4) They are easier to transport, because they are much smaller and lighter.

5) They cost less -- especially when you consider they don't need to be replaced nearly as often.

For me, it has been well worth the time to get used to how these pedals work to take advantage of improved reliability and stability. They also work really well as control footswitches (e.g., to trigger a Leslie fast/slow effect on a Nord or similar keyboard). Personally, I will not be buying any more FC4-type pedals. The ones I have that still work will be used at home.

Very nice keyboard, excellent voices
September 21, 2017
Very nice keyboard, excellent voices. Only disadvantage is the setup of the voice selectors requiring the use of the keyboard, it makes adding/changing voices mid-performance awkward. I would pay a bit more for a board with dedicated voice buttons.
Happy ending
May 26, 2017
It's a great piano for the new learner. My first package was delayed, the tracking details shows that it was suspended and restarted from another place. What I got was a defective one- two keys had obvious electric noises, so I returned it. The replacement arrived on time and it's perfect. I love this piano, reliance come back.
Awesome keyboard. I love two things
November 25, 2016
Awesome keyboard. I love two things: The feel of the keys is perfect. I had to get a weighted keyboard, because I hate the plastic ones. You really feel like you're playing a piano but so much more. I also love the trans pose function. Price is reasonable.
Awesome step up from a keyboard!
August 14, 2016
I used to own a yamaha keyboard. I realized that I had improved so much that the keyboard couldnt support me. I had a tight budget so i decided to give this piano a try. I really wanted a p115 but i couldn't afford it. Anyways it arrived and immediately started to play it. It took about a week to adapt to the piano. after i got a feel for the action i was able to use my school's steinway with no problems. Great instrument, i've had it for about 5 months and i am statisfied.
This piano is SWEET!!
March 24, 2016
Very pleased with this digital piano after having owned both a plastic keyboard, and a real upright piano, this Yamaha P-45B did not disappoint. It comes in a box with heavy duty cardboard, the weight of the piano is light enough to carry easily. The sound of this piano is great. It sounds very similar to a real piano. Of course no digital piano can sound exactly like a real piano because of natural acoustics, etc. But I scrutinized the sound of the sampling pretty good and I am quite satisfied with how it sounds. You can change the reverb type and depth all kinds of ways, as well as transpose, fine tune, octave shift, split function, double voices, etc. all features are hidden within the piano keys themselves and activated using the simple "Function" button in combination with whichever assigned function key you're utilizing. I like the minimalist interface design in that aspect. It comes with a power adapter and sustain pedal. The weighting on the keys is very very realistic to a real grand piano. It's graded, being heavier in the low end and lighter in the highs. Beautiful. And piano weighting can be a deal breaker for me, I am very picky about having perfectly weighted keys on a digital piano and I am super stoked for this one cause it is right on the money. Which brings us to the subject of price. I missed this on Black Friday when it went down to $299, and back up the next day (you snooze you lose), so I had been eyeing the price off and on, until last week. When I saw it drop from $449 to $382. I immediately jumped on the opportunity to redeem myself and snatch it up. Another popular shopping website (starts with a J) also had a 20% off promo so I ended up making the final purchase outside of Amazon, which for me, came to a total of $323 shipped. Boo yeah!! Anyways this piano is excellent even for its current price. The harpsichord sounds sweet. The E. Piano sound is very cool, just like the one Ray Charles played in that movie Ray. There are also a strings voice, which is a must. And the strings sound good too. The built in speakers are not the loudest in volume but I like that they face down out of the bottom of the piano, so it sounds less like a plastic toy keyboard, and sort of echoes off the floor or what have you. And there are slits in the top that let acoustic sound in through the top too. But I plug it into my guitar amp for now, until I buy either a keyboard amp or something to play it through maybe in stereo. It does not have a line out, only a 1/4" headphone jack. This does not come with a headphone jack adapter so if your headphones are the small 1/8" size jack, then you might as well throw a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter in your cart right now cause you're gonna need it. I own a nice X keyboard stand but it's currently away in storage so I devised a workstation stand out of some scrap wood screwed to my desk.I'm stoked with this piano. Especially after watching it for 4 months before finally buying it (at a killer deal I might add). This piano has a very professional feel and sound, for the beginner to advanced piano player and musician. An exquisite addition to any home studio, and surely a star on the stage. I can't say enough good things about the weighted keys. Truly satisfying.
Great alternative for a piano.
March 8, 2016
My husband loved this so much. I bought it as a Xmas present and it was everything he was looking for. Great weighted keys and gives him that piano experience he is looking for without needing the space for a full-sized piano.

Like many have said
December 25, 2016
Just bought this for Christmas for my new Digital Piano. Like many have said, this is advertised as a Yamaha Product, but it is not. It is some random no name brand. The description also says easy assembly, which would have been true, but the instructions are a little unclear at times. Im not sure why I am even saying "instructions" all that is included is one picture. You Have to figure it out on your own for the most part. Feels stable for the most part. Hopefully this lasts
Standing at the stand
June 3, 2016
The stand is stable, fairly easy to put together, and very moveable. My sole complaint (and it may be unique to me, who knows) is that I bump my shins on the lower half of the crossed bars if a don't push the bench pretty far back. I'm now used to sitting a bit further back from the keyboard than I'm accustomed to, so it's turned out to be not much of a problem. But I can't help wondering about the ergo-engineers; were they designing only for players who stand (i.e., many professional pop performers)?
Good stand for the price...
December 27, 2015
The box arrived somewhat banged up, but the item inside was not damaged. It comes in 7 pieces and assembly is shown by a diagram. Slightly confusing but pretty straight forward. It lost a star because the click notches to lock the stand in position, did not allow for my son's Yamaha E343 to sit correctly in the molded grooves on the underside of the keyboard itself. One notch made it too wide, the next wasn't wide enough. Odd, only because they are both "Yamaha" branded products. However, that small detail does not take away from the construction of the stand itself. We're going to keep it.
Good, reliable keyboard stand
December 2, 2015
Good keyboard stand, have had it for about 5 years now. Everything is working properly on it, no issues or malfunctioning parts. The only thing for me is that I wish the bottom two segments that hold up keyboard stand on the ground weren't so wide.. When I place the keyboard stand against a wall, the length of these bottom segments causes the stand to stick out farther away from the wall than I'd want it to.
Same price as most stands but better quality
April 23, 2007
I had looked at numerous stands for my Yamaha keyboard and didn't want to spend a ton of money for a professional grade stand (at professional prices). With that in mind, the Yamaha PKBX2 Double X Portable Keyboard Stand is a good choice at $29.99. I had seen other stands that were not as sturdy (single X stands)and cost about the same price.

Tips for assembly:
- Don't read the instructions, just look at the enlarged image of the keyboard stand on Amazon and assemble the stand the way it's shown.
- The bolts for attaching the arms and legs come screwed in to the stand. Use the (included )Allen Wrench to remove them and then re-install them when you are putting it together.

PROS:
- Low price.
- Solid, sturdy stand.
- Works for just about any keyboard.
- The stand's height is fully adjustable, and can be easily changed in several seconds - without having to unscrew anything.

CONS:
- There is no way to attach a keyboard to this stand. No screws, bolts or straps are included, even though most (including my Yamaha) keyboards have pre-drilled holes for screwing the board to a stand. The keyboard simply sits on top of the stand. I was VERY disappointed about this.
- The included Allen wrench did not work for one of the bolts. The bolt came screwed in to the stand way too tightly to be removed using the included tool. The Allen Wrench only stripped the bolt, it did not loosen it. Luckily my husband had a better Allen Wrench of nearly identical size, and that one worked. Without it, we would not have been able to loosen the bolt.

Good portable piano seat.
June 15, 2017
Solid seat. Just make sure the knob is tightened well. May need to check once in awhile but the seat will not collapse unless the main screw is completely removed. Good cushioning for comfort.
Not the best piano seat i ever sat on but will work
May 15, 2017
Not the best piano seat i ever sat on for sure but as a keyboard seat for less than an hour practise once in a while it does the job.It was easy to mount, just unfold and screw and it pretty light and portable. The comfort is not the best of all and to be honest more than an hour seating on this would seem challenging to me but as a simple solution it works.
It does the job and matches the stand and black keyboard.
April 16, 2017
It does the job and is comfortable. I prefer a good wooden piano bench that opens so I can store my piano books but this does the job and is light enough and comfortable
Functional but hard.
April 8, 2017
This bench is functional, but uncomfortable. I bought it because it was the cheapest one, and you get what you pay for. I use it exclusively in my home studio, so I don't spend too much time on it for long stretches, so it's a great fit for me. If you like a softer cushion, spend the extra money...

September 6, 2016
The bench works well, I am not used to sitting without a back but it is good. The cushion isn't the greatest but for a half hour or hour it works well, seems solid and I would recommend it to anyone, I think it would hold a large person, I am over 200 pounds and it doesn't seem to mind...
Very good quality. Comfy cushion
October 2, 2014
Very good quality.Comfy cushion, nice leather, stable and sturdy.I'm 250 lb and it stands like a rock under me.Two cons. Both minor, don't affect the quality of the chair when it's assembled.1. The height: I'd want to be able to put it a bit lower. Will have to drill another hole myself.2. The bolt. You have to unscrew the bolt completely and try not to loose the washers, and assembly it back. It could be done more simply.

Good product, for a good price
December 9, 2016
Very good product in terms of the price, make, material and usability. It has enough weight so that it stays in position and does not move around while you are pushing it during a performance. It is best if you can place it on a small rug. The cable is long enough so it can be placed adequately on the ground while the keyboard is placed on the highest possible elevation on a stand.
Great, takes some getting used to.
October 31, 2016
The Yamaha FC3A foot pedal works as advertised, as I use it for my Yamaha MOXF8 with sounds that's able to use half-pedaling (Pre1 Full Concert Grand). You have a bit of travel on the pedal before it actually registers (I have to go almost halfway down before I notice an effect), and the half-pedaling effect seems to go to a full pedal early (Don't hear much a difference between 3/4ths and fully depressed pedal). If there was a way to adjust the sensitivity on this pedal, I would definitely give it 5 stars. It's well worth having one of these, especially if you have another pedal plugged in alongside it, though I would want to test one against the original Yamaha FC3.
The directions on your piano may not tell you this!
May 13, 2015
Ok, I know you just bought this pedal and plugged it in with the power on your Yamaha Digital piano and it works backwards, right? It sustains with the pedal up, right? It has reversed polarity because you didn't unplug your adapter. Just to make sure unplug your pedal, unplug your piano adapter and plug in the pedal and plug in your adapter for the piano and turn on your piano and it should work correctly.
Works
January 18, 2015
I bought this to use with an old Yamaha SPX90. It works great. My only complaint is that it only has one function. It would have been better if there was a way to go forward AND back but that is more an issue with the SPX90 design than this pedal. The chord could also be longer.
The pedal works great for triggering drum machines
August 21, 2014
The pedal works great for triggering drum machines, punching in and out while recording, and for turning effects on and off. It's just a momentary switch, but functions well.

It works fine as a sustain switch for keyboards, but, if you are used to real piano pedals, you may be disappointed, as the throw is much shorter and the feel is much different. Of course, it's only thirteen bucks so, you probably shouldn't expect a perfect feel as a sustain pedal.

The rubber on both the top and bottom provides good grip. It doesn't move around much on my hardwood floor, and I like that the entire bottom surface is rubberized, instead of just having four rubber feet, like so many pedals have. I found that the top surface seems just a bit stickier than the bottom, so, if you have a really slick floor, you can just flip the footswitch over and use it like that.

The cable is just the right length, without too much extra length to get tangled up in, but long enough for flexibility in placing the switch. I could see where a 1/4" jack instead of a hard-wired cable would be nice to allow users to change the length, and also to prevent the cable from wearing out, but if you take decent care of your gear, this pedal should last a long time.

The housing is metal and seems sturdy, in case you are wondering.

It seems like a good value, works like it should, and should last. It would be five stars if it was labeled simply as a "momentary foot switch" instead of as a sustain pedal. (even though it works as one) I'd be disappointed if I were expecting the feel of a sustain pedal, but am very happy with it as a momentary switch.

Great deal!

Good value for $$
July 31, 2017
Great basic board. Price reflects quality. Tinier sound but works for beginners. Weihhted keys are super. Foot pedal could be better. Sound needs more amp. Very quiet at loudest setting. Id recommend for any primer to level 5 pianist
decent
May 5, 2017
One of the keys broke within a few days. They quickly replaced it, but since I only have experience with two samples, I have to review what I know. The second one we received was great.
This is a better problem than before but it is still a problem
May 3, 2017
I am no professional piano player. I have as an adult only been practicing for about a year. I was practicing on a yamaha dgx-205 which does not have weighted keys. I got sick of going to my lessons and playing on a real piano, only to find that the key's weight would trip me up. So I looked for the cheapest possible keyboard with decent reviews and weighted keys and I settled on this one. Now as I said, I'm not pro, and I haven't played on a lot of pianos. But I gotta say that the keys on this keyboard seem way heavier than the real pianos I have played on. I have played on two different uprights and a baby grand piano. They all now feel lighter than what I'm used to! This is a better problem than before but it is still a problem. It is really hard to get intonation right now as I always seem to mash on the keys when I'm at practice. I guess you get what you pay for. I just wish you didn't have to pay so much to have remotely realistic weighted keys.
Great package
February 20, 2017
Very attractive, with great sound... I do not see much utility to the USB port.
Quite legit, you'll be happy with it.
February 15, 2017
I bought this for my wife to learn piano. She is happy with it and here are my impressions:I'm a part-time professional musician (10 yrs and still going) although I do not play piano much, I do know good from bad. This one is great. The weight of the keys and response feels like a real piano. The sound is pretty good, not great. But I haven't heard it plugged into an awesome sound system yet. The tone options like organ, synth, etc all sound good enough to gig with. But this thing is pretty bulky and heavy to lug around so I recommend keeping it in one place. It is definitely not a toy, it is a musical instrument and for the price it's very hard to beat. Overall Yamaha is a brand you can trust when it comes to sound equipment, I've had a lot of experience with them in the past.
I'll buy it again!
February 17, 2016
My son needed a piano for his apartment in college and so I got him this. He loves this piano much more than his Casio Privia. For starters, it's just lighter than the Casio and the keys don't make annoying sounds when you're trying to not play too loud.

STAND IS GREAT..
September 15, 2016
STAND IS GREAT.....Amazon's Packaging......LOUSY.

I purchased the stand based on the ratings and also that is compatible with my Yamaha PSR E-413. It fits GREAT. It works Great. I SHOULD note that Yamaha (sealed package) put in three screws that were TWICE the length needed....and the instructions said to use the "SHORTER" on the center support. They were all EQUAL and WAY TOO LONG. IF you plan on popping the KB off, then find some metric dies and cut OFF the screws, otherwise, be prepared to TWIST the knob for a LONG time.

The box arrived with the corners torn open and part of the metal stand hanging out. My wife wanted to know if there were ANY electronics in it. It looked like it was caught on the FedEx conveyor or the USPS folks locally used it as home plate for their midnight ball game. I do NOT know if a real FedEx van brought it or if it was delivered by my USPS carrier....as we were NOT at home at the time.

Fortunately, there was no damage. The wall thickness of of the OEM Yamaha box is thin and there is no internal padding or supports.

Love the stand....just glad it got here in as good a shape as it was...
Holds the piano, pain to put together.
February 22, 2016
This came with a piano we purchased. I will say, I am not impressed. It does hold the weight of they keyboard, which we have a heavier one. But it was a pain to put together. If you need any instructions at all, forget it. They give you a picture, not even a very good one, and no help. I am pretty adept at put together items and this one had me wanting to toss it out the window. You would think 6 parts couldn't be hard. Yeah, you would think wrong. It's not well crafted. But, as I said, it holds the piano, even though it's not correct once you see it.
Good enough for an entry level keyboard and calm playing style
August 24, 2015
The front retainer pegs will always be at an angle to the keyboard because they are aligned with the poles themselves rather than being turned to be perpendicular with the horizon when stand is expanded to an X. I wish it also had rear pegs to prevent the unit from sliding back - I feel like this has to be up against a wall or other object when playing so probably not ideal for freestanding play - especially with kids or if your playing style is like Mark Mallman. Those parts aside, it seems to do the job and is good enough for my cheap keyboard.
Decent, Serviceable Practice Stand
December 19, 2014
A basic, serviceable piano stand. It will do the trick for practicing, but is definitely not high-end.

As others have noted, the directions are pretty much useless. A single picture and two incomprehensible notes ("Short end of feet must be to the outside of the stand." Huh???). But if you look at the picture enough, assembly isn't bad.

The biggest challenge is locating the connecting screws. There are eight of them -- painted black and fully screwed into the recessed attachment points for the black bars. Incredibly easy to miss. To find them, look at where you'll eventually attach them. Then look again really closely.

Stability is decent. The rubber thingies keep the piano in place on the stand and the stand is stable enough as long as you don't go all Viv Savage on the keyboard. I have mine on a shallow carpet and it's fine for practicing.

The small pull handle on the adjusting pin has already split, but I can fix that with some tape and/or glue. Not a big deal.

So for $30-$35, you'll get a serviceable practice stand. If your needs are greater, then you should look elsewhere.
Sturdy, but at lowest setting piano keyboard is still higher than a real piano
May 28, 2014
The stand seems sturdy and well-made. But if you intend to set up your keyboard at the height of a real piano (a little over 28 inches from the floor), you might consider another stand. At the stand's lowest setting, my Yamaha CP40 piano keyboard is 30 1/2 inches from the ground. Not necessarily a big deal, but I also ordered the Yamaha PKBB1 keyboard bench, which has a maximum height of 20 1/2 inches. For most people, this bench height is fine if your keyboard is 28 inches from the floor, but it's too low if, as in this case, the keyboard is 30 1/2 inches from the floor. I had to choose between returning the stand or returning the bench, so I'm returning the bench and getting a taller one. The PKBB1 bench should probably not be sold as a bundle with this stand.

September 21, 2017
I got this for my 5 and 7 year old. It is adjustable but the drawback is at the highest setting this bench has the tendency to tip. My 5 year old fell off it and so did her friend. I didn't keep this in mind while shopping. I recommend that you look for a wider bench for small kids or if you need it for an adult that cannot balance well.
Good enough for the price, but a little misleading to the customer.
March 5, 2016
The Product is good enough, and I thought it was worth the price. However, other comments were correct and this is in no way an official Yamaha product which is false advertising. I don't know why their not just honest and say what it is, because for the price I think it's perfectly acceptable it's not from a big brand. I think that would be better than misleading customers and wouldn't lead to negative reviews.
I'm sure this is a nice bench for a smaller person
July 10, 2014
I bought this to use with my Yamaha DGX 650B. When it arrived, I was surprised at how small it is. I should have paid more attention to the dimensions rather than the pictures. One reviewer states it might hold 200 lb. That would be the upper limit by my guess. This bench is more suitable for a child or a small-built adult. I'm 6'4" and 300lb. I was afraid to sit on it and returned it. I'm sure this is a nice bench for a smaller person.
Reasonably well made, but may not be compatible with some keyboard stands
May 28, 2014
The bench seems sturdy and well-made. But be careful if you intend to use it with a keyboard on a keyboard stand like the one I purchased, the Yamaha PKBX2. At the stand's lowest setting, my Yamaha CP40 piano keyboard is 30 1/2 inches from the ground, not necessarily a big deal. The PKBB1 keyboard bench has a maximum height of 20 1/2 inches. For most people, this bench height is fine if your keyboard is 28 inches from the floor, but it's too low if, as in this case, the keyboard is 30 1/2 inches from the floor. I had to choose between returning the stand or returning the bench, so I'm returning the bench and getting a taller one. The PKBX2 keyboard stand should probably not be sold as a bundle with this bench.
Looks sturdy enough, but look carefully...
February 8, 2014
I purchased this item a few days ago and received it promptly. However, when I went to remove the plastics covering the leg braces, I discovered rusted screws. Needless to say, I am going to be returning this for a replacement. The bench does look and feel sturdy and the padding feels very adequate and comfortable for prolonged sitting. On this particular order, I can't trust the integrity of the bench when the screws holding everything together have rust all over them. For now, I'm giving 3 stars and will update if the replacement arrives in better condition.
Sturdy, comfortable, but not w/o problems
June 3, 2013
I purchased the Yamaha BB1 bench to use with my Yamaha DGX530 keyboard. While an OK value for a relatively low price, the Yamaha bench is solid but plain-looking. It has hollow metal legs, and thin padding with a soft vinyl covering that looks like it could tear or puncture easily, so maybe not a good choice if you have children that might climb on it. It came packaged in a plastic bag within a box, with no real protective padding of any kind, just a couple of pieces of foam to keep the legs from moving around and getting scratched. That didn't work! Before I opened the box I could hear the legs rattling around in there. When I opened it and looked it over I saw that the legs all had small scratches on them, and the vinyl top had a 1/2" cut in it. I find that baffling, because there was no damage at all to the box that I could see, and I did not use a blade to open it. Even if I had, the cut was off to the side and at an angle! Very strange! This would have had to be packaged this way, unless of course it was returned damaged and then resold. (I noticed another review where the reviewer found a tear also, but went ahead and taped it.)Bottom line, after using it for 2 days, I found it reasonably comfortable and sturdy, but a bit low for me. If you can get an undamaged one, it is a plain, sturdy bench for reasonable price and I think you will be happy with it.Rather than return it for a replacement, I decided to return it and try an adjustable bench.I purchased the Ebony Adjustable Artist Piano Bench through Amazon and CPS Imports. It was almost double the cost, but worth every penny and more. Read my review of that bench for more info.NOTE: I may have given the Yamaha bench 4 stars if I had not been able to compare it with the Ebony bench. I did not take the damage into consideration when deciding on the 3 star rating.

Half-Pedal functionality didn't work for me
January 16, 2017
This works ok for me, but I'm pretty disappointed since I bought it for the 'half pedal' functionality and I couldn't get it to work at all for me (and this product IS the one I have- the FC3A, not a different model).

For me, this straight up works as an on/off switch- that's it. Either the pedal is down and I get 100% sustain for as long as the note would normally allow, or it's off and the note stops abruptly. There's no in-between where I can control the length of the sustain by how far I hold my foot down, or if I let up slightly, etc. I might be totally mis-understanding what half-pedal does, but from what I read I as expecting to be able to control the dynamics of the sustain by altering how far I put my foot down, but I'm not able to get that at all. I tried using the internal voices in my NP-31 (which did say it suppors half-pedal functionality), as well as in my DAW when using it as a MIDI controller, and I saw no difference.

I do sometiems also get the reversed functionality issue where not holding the pedal produces sustain and pushing it down stops sustain. I usually just have to unplug for a few seconds and re-plug it in, or turn the keyboard on and off again and that fixes it. Similarly kind of annoying though.

I returned this item and it won't work on my Yamaha Keyboard. Wrong description.
It also feels like there are only 4 settings
December 13, 2016
I purchased this for my Hammond XK-1c for a volume pedal. It works, but it has a slow response. It also feels like there are only 4 settings... full volume, half, soft and off. It doesn't seem to have a smooth transition either.
Works as needed, but not with an Ableton Push
April 19, 2014
The polarity is reverse from what is used by Ableton Push. I'm currently running a Max for Live plugin to switch the signal in Live, but it would make more sense to buy a pedal with a polarity switch on it from the start. Otherwise, the construction and action are good. As others have said it is very light. Great for portability, but it'll move around on you as you use it.

Keys make a clicking noise
October 6, 2017
Overall I think this is a great deal in terms of value, it’s inexpensive and a good starter keyboard. However, the keys began making a very annoying clicking noise after three months of use. I’m not sure how to make them stop and it’s ruined the keyboard for me. Looking to buy something more sturdy for my next keyboard. Unfortunate!
Not as good as I expected
July 12, 2017
I'm a beginning/intermediate piano student, and I was looking for a keyboard that would feel and sound close to an acoustic piano. I play on a grand piano during my lessons, so I've had many opportunities over the past few months to compare this keyboard with the real thing, and I am dissatisfied enough that I'm currently shopping for something better. First the good: the weighted action keys are great. I can't tell any difference from a real piano. The pedal on the keyboard is obviously different, but I don't have any trouble switching back and forth with the acoustic piano. My real complaint is with the sound. Beginning with the octave below middle C, the notes are very loud, so much so that they drown out whatever you're playing with the right hand. The other problem is the dynamic range. Although the keys are touch sensitive, the difference in volume between pounding on them and lightly touching them is probably half of what it is on a real piano. This makes it hard to develop good technique, and pretty much everything you play isn't going to sound well balanced or have interesting dynamics. I have tried readjusting the settings on the keyboard, but it doesn't help. I highly recommend spending a little more to get something better. Also, I recommend the blog AZ Piano News for unbiased and thorough digital piano reviews.
Yamaha does not recognize its own product!
May 1, 2017
The instrument might be fine, but if something goes wrong, I will not be able to get it fixed under the warranty because I cannot register it. Yamaha's site does not recognize the model number! This also means that additional documentation (cited in the user manual that came with the instrument as being available online) is not on the Yamaha site.Go figure. If anything does go wrong, I'll return and change this review to one star.***Returning to this review a month later to help other purchasers who are encountering the same problem as I did:Yamaha finally responded to my query. It seems that the P-71 is the same as the P-45 (but neither the product's documentation nor the Yamaha site tells you that anywhere), so if you go on their site and pretend that you have a P-45, you're okay.
Not touch sensitive.
April 30, 2017
It's a fine keyboard for the price, but the "weighted action" description is deceptive. What this means for this product (the Amazon exclusive keyboard) is that the keys feel more like a real piano in that they have some resistance to the keys, but the keys are not touch sensitive. That means you cannot change the volume on this keyboard by pressing a key harder or softer. Notes always come out at exactly the same volume.
Disappointed harpsichordist
July 4, 2015
It is a good substitute for a basic piano where there is no space or money for a real one. Really perfect for early keyboard lessons. I am sure people who bought it just for this will be satisfied. And If that is all that had been promised and what I was looking for I might have given it at least 4 stars taking one off for minor intonation problems and the fact that in all functions the volume of the lowest three octaves is far too quiet in relation to the upper four when playing at lower volumes, which is often essential. My interest, however, was in a good substitute for a harpsichord and in that it fails miserably. The plucking sound lasts only through the octave above middle C where it reverts to a hammered sound in the octaves above. I find this curious in that the plucking sound is easier to recreate in MIDI than piano. So in addition to the star removed for the problem at low volume and some intonation flaws, I am removing another for an incomplete harpsichord keyboard.

Tall people may have issues with cross-beam design
July 21, 2017
Good quality with solid design BUT the cross-beams really interfere with my knees and prevent me from sitting comfortable at the piano (I am 5'11').
I had to stop using it and will sell on Craiglist.
Have bought a different design from amazon: Knox Gear Z Style Adjustable Heavy Duty Piano Keyboard Stand.
Not good for me
March 11, 2017
Seems sturdy but I don't like the adjustment mechanism. It doesn't offer enough adjustment settings. One adjustment was too low, the next adjustment was too high. I had to make a plywood spacer to get the height that I wanted. I suggest looking at other stands.
Decent, but not safe.
December 28, 2016
Pros: not a bad stand. Study and allows for height adjustment.

Cons: I think the directions (picture telling g you where the screws are) were only included to make you angry since they offer no information on assembly.

There is no way to attach the keyboard to the stand, so it simply sits on top and it has shifted twice today causing the endcap to pop off. If you live alone this should be no problem, if you have toddlers avoid this purchase.
Poor quality and damaged.
January 10, 2016
I don't know if I was shipped a return for another customer, or if this is just a low quality product. The box was damaged. The stand had several scratches and dents. There is something rattling around inside of one of the legs. The instructions were useless. I found the assembly to be much easier once I threw the instructions in the garbage. That being said, the stand is fairly sturdy and does the job.
too high
November 6, 2015
purchased this stand as part of a package with the P115 keyboard - plus's are that it's solid, sturdy, cheap as part of package, and i thought went together fairly easily. I was surprised to see that the keyboard just sat on top of stand (didn't fit into slots, etc.), but it was stable and didn't slide easily, so okay. (this is my first keyboard/stand, didn't know what to expect) The big minus is that the lowest setting of the stand is about 26". When you put the P115 on top of it, keys are ~ 31.5" off the floor......too high re standard piano height, and too high for my adjustable stool (which came with the package) even on highest setting. This to me is not a small thing; bought this for my grandkids to learn piano, and seat position is critical. It's way too high for me, and I'm 6'2". May have to spring for the "permanent" stand, which is clearly lower.....don't understand why this should be, seems to be an easy design parameter.

It's ok
July 13, 2017
I gave it two stars because it's not very comfortable and I would like it to go just a little lower. I'm 5'4" and I have a hard time touching the ground. I have to hang off the front.
Not level. Off by 1" or more. Wobbles. I returned it.
November 23, 2016
Completely off-level--by more than 1". Wobbles way too much to be of any use, even for a child. I returned it. Otherwise quality is fine--in fact this is indistinguishable from other such items, so much so that I expect we see many identical products under different brand names. So you might have better luck with yours.
Unbalanced and Wobbly. Not a Yamaha Product At All
June 23, 2016
• The bench is wobbly no matter what surface I put it on (it is not the floor)• Adjusting the height has no effect on the unbalanced design and the wobble• The product is NOT made by Yamaha.  It is not even made for Yamaha. It is "Distributed by Yamaha Corporation of America"• The product is imported by The Music People Inc of Berlin, CTPositives:• Easy to assembleYou learn to manage the wobble, and the bench does work. However, it is never as stable as you wish.As for the bait and switch......it is as if Rolex would distribute a cheap watch they don't make because they have a good distribution network, and the shops advertising the cheap watch online tell you it is a Rolex when it is not.
Not Recommended for Travel
May 15, 2016
Do not get this bench if you are planning to travel with it. To adjust the height will take a number of steps of unscrewing the lock from the cross (x). Also, to collapse this bench into flat position you have to screw/unscrew at a couple of places. Not that big a deal for some people, but I was expecting an easy 2 second process (similar to adjusting height on typical keyboard stands) which this bench does not have.If you plan to have it sitting in just one place then this should be ok. Also, the seat isn't that comfortable.
Incorrect Measurements
January 29, 2016
The stool is a good quality and looks nice. I'm thoroughly disappointed, however. I bought this because of the adjustable height. I need a 17 or 17 1/2 inch stool for my nine-year-old cello-playing daughter. At the lowest setting, it measures 19 inches from the seat to the floor. It's not worth sending it back, but now I'm stuck with a stool that's worthless to me.
Shennanigans! NOT a Yamaha product!
November 28, 2015
Shenannigans!! This is NOT a Yamaha product as the listing would lead you to believe. It's a generic off-brand bench. Buyer beware. It's relatively cheap and I need it right away, so I'm not going to bother to return it. But the listing needs to be amended to reflect the truth. If you are buying this expecting traditional Yamaha professional quality, look elsewhere.

Nicely made pedal but it is not compatible with our Casio digital keyboard. Works backwards. (Sustains when just plugged in and stops when you press the pedal). Should say what brands this works with as it implies it works with all.

May 17, 2016
Well built. Be warned: there is a compatibility issue that prevents this expression pedal from working properly with M-Audio, Roland, and earlier Nord Electro keyboards. You will have to either resolder the wiring yourself (thus voiding any warranty) or purchase an adapter for about 20 bucks. Ridiculous that this is not mentioned in the product description.
Too Noisy
March 1, 2016
The pedal itself works fine, but the actual mechanics of pressing and releasing the pedal make a lot of noise. It might be ok for performances with an amp and an audience, but for classical piano in my living room it was excessive and distracting. After using this pedal for a bit I ended up purchasing Yamaha LP7A Keyboard Foot Pedal Unit. I've found it to be nearly silent so I'm much happier with that.

September 29, 2015
This is an original Yamaha product. However the rubber protector from the upper part does not fit into the lower part causing a split off of the upper rubber. Only in “seat position” it works well, but not so in the “stand position”. This gave me a disenchantment, because the rest is a solid and firm construction.
Didn't work for my application.
July 10, 2014
It may only work with a Yamaha keyboard. Most foot switches have a "normally open" set of contact. That is to say; when you step on the switch the contacts close. This foot switch is the opposite. On my Casio keyboard this results in getting a sustained note continuously, unless you step on the pedal. This would mean having to continuously depress the pedal while playing unless you wanted a sustained note(s) or other foot operated functions. I returned it.

First impression is not very pleasant
July 12, 2017
I've been practicing on my friends piano, which looked exactly the same, however it was about 2 years old (I guess, it was some older revision of P45).My main concern with this one is sound quality. The first time I tried to play this piano, I thought that maybe I forgot to remove some packaging and loudspeakers are blocked somehow. I was shocked by how sound is muffled and flat. I can say for sure: compact portable bluetooth speakers do sound better than this piano.Sound quality is definitely better in headphones, but, alas, there's audible and distracting noise in left channel of the headphones output. This I also haven't noticed on the model I've been practicing before. Although I connected exactly the same headphones.Update: my friend has P35B. I really believe, my unit might be faulty. Numerous reviews say that P71B is the same as P45B, and P45B is an upgrade of P35B, thus can't be worse.
Nice digital piano, mine had some issues.
April 6, 2017
While I love the sound and the action, my unit had some issues. The keys were uneven so that the middle 'C' was lower than the 'B' or the 'D'... in fact the entire upper register had level issues while the bass did not. The pedal supplied with the P71 is reversed so that the piano sustains when the pedal is UP and dampens when the pedal is pressed. Useless... why are you making us buy a new pedal? I don't mind the cheap plastic square pedals but if it is reversed you are forcing me to cut the wires and solder them back in reverse order.... please.
E and F keys (all of them) stopped working after 5 months
November 2, 2016
This piano was absolutely fantastic. For five months. Now the E and F key don't work. They do this odd thing where if you strike the E you can't strike the F next. Or if you strike the F you can't strike the E next. If you try to play them one after the other, silence. And they do it for the whole range of the keyboard. Strange. Very irritatingly, we've just signed our daughter up for lessons and now we are out of the return time and have to take this lemon to get repaired. SUPER ANNOYING. Yamaha is being pretty unhelpful. Incredibly irritated.**UPDATE** In the middle of lessons and recital season, our piano is currently being held captive by a local repair shop. Yamaha would neither accept a return or make a trade, nor would they send a loaner; taking the piano to our local repair shop was the only option. We are now in for the cost of the piano and the transport to the repair shop, out for the cost of lessons and have a child with a recital looming who cannot practice. The local shop has been disparaging about Yamaha products and customer service and has no date for return of the piano as they "wait for parts." I will be calling Yamaha again today to plea my case for a replacement or refund as I'm souring to the consumer treatment. They could have resolved this easily. If this had happened sooner, we could have just dealt with Amazon's amazing return policy. Instead, we are here.**FINAL UPDATE**Yamaha customer service is abysmal. I empathize with anyone who goes through what we did trying to get our piano repaired/replaced. Re: the above update, I called Yamaha that afternoon as promised. Again, I was met with a snotty attitude and ridiculous remarks. The Yamaha representative told me a) I never should order from Amazon as they would have dealt with this differently if I'd bought directly from them (I'm sure Amazon will be thrilled to hear this) and b) it's very common for consumer products to be sent out for repair before replacements. Fair enough. But the example he used was a car---if your car needs a repair it has to go into the mechanic. I would argue that most car companies offer a loaner when they are remiss. It's not called a courtesy car for nothing. But in Yamaha's world, there is no courtesy and there is certainly no courtesy piano. The CS rep transferred me to the parts department to see if they could determine "if" the parts (of which I still have no clue what they were) have been ordered and if so, how long it will take to ship them for repair to my local store. I received a voicemail, left a message and as you can probably tell where this is going, never heard from them again.I dropped it at this point. My sanity wasn't worth the constant huffing and puffing from Yamaha and I couldn't bear to argue anymore. 7 weeks after our piano stopped working, it returned home. Minus the cost of transport in a hired car x4 (we are in a major city and walk everywhere), minus our child's prepaid piano lessons (she made due on a janky old keyboard with missing keys in the interim---thank goodness we happened to have access to that, thanks friend) and minus time and effort dealing with a pretty crabby company. Our piano works fine now. If I ever have to go through this again, I don't know how I will react. Honestly, I just don't get it. I don't need companies to bow to my every whim, but this is 2016, and money talks. And so do poor reviews. I will never recommend this product to anyone. In fact, I will likely never recommend ANY Yamaha products. It's kind of like that pretty girl/handsome guy that has such a bunk personality you quickly realize they aren't attractive at all. And you end up falling in love with the person who treats you right. Yamaha: treat your customers RIGHT.
Broken keys :(
April 1, 2016
I really wanted this to be a 5 star rating....After agonizing over the reviews and debating on the whether or not to risk dealing with a return, I took the leap. After all there were "Only 17 left in stock." My daughter has just started piano lessons and we were looking for great piano sound with weighted keys without the bulk of an acoustic piano. This package seemed perfect for us and was in our budget range. Packages arrived within 2 days and they were in great shape. Things were so perfect at first, then we noticed that two of the keys seemed stuck and produced no sound. One is particularly bothersome because it is raised. Looks like I'll be taking it to a repair shop for a quote and weighing my options.....so bummed.

Nothing but frustration with Yamaha products so far
July 15, 2017
The height of this stand is either too low or too high. No way to make my keyboard to be 72 cm from the floor. It's either 65 cm or 80 cm. If you turn the stand the other way round, it's about 82 cm minimum.

I bought it in set with Yamaha P71, and I expected it to fit the product.

Update: I had to extend one of the holes with a file to get a perfect height of the stand. Not a big deal, just 10$ for a file in local hw store and 10 minutes of work... But I'd prefer to buy product, that fits my needs out of the box.
Try your luck with terrible packaging. They saved money by not including any bubble wap, mine came already broken
February 14, 2017
Arrived broken. There's a little knob that helps you adjust it, this was split completely in half when I pulled it out of the box. I guess that's what happens when you send a bunch of metal pipes with a small plastic component and absolutely no bubble wrap or peanuts or anything. Everything I ordered with this is fine, but I can't set up my keyboard because there is no way to build the stand. I tried to set it up without it, and now an important spring is lost somewhere inside one of the pipes. Kind of annoyed, hoping I can get a replacement.

January 18, 2017
BUYER BEWARE -- this is not Yamaha -- I had the same situation as some of these other comments that I checked post-purchase. Essentially, this is a cheap Chinese product. It feels cheap, the box does not have anything to do with Yamaha, there were no instructions--just a picture, and a poorly grammatical hint that the screws were located at the ends. And it bent/broke within five minutes of use.

SO DON'T BUY THIS. Seriously... I never write comments, but it would be unethical not to report this.
The pinhole slowly bent and now this stand only lies flat
June 5, 2016
This stand requires assembly. The end of each long post (the big X) has a screw inside that needs to first be unscrewed and then rescrewed through the short crossbars. Some of the screws were painted over and couldn't be removed.

After a week, the pin holding the X intersection of the stand in place popped out and wouldn't go back in. On closer inspection, the metal pinhole slowly bent out of place until it was too big to support the pin anymore. I'll try to return it. Until then, it's sitting on the floor, flat and unusable.

Awful bench - returned
September 29, 2017
I used this bench for a few days, shipped it back and ordered the one linked below. The bench was overall just too small and not firm enough which made my back and shoulders ache after sitting there for any length of time. Really love the new one. Yes, it's more expensive but totally worth paying extra. I sat and played for over 2 hours one night this week with no problems at all.On Stage KT7800 Plus Padded Keyboard Bench

Like L. Jarlot, I recieved a generic brand bench. I also ordered the Yamaha PKBS1 Single Braced Adjustable X-Style Keyboard Stand, and it was a generic brand as well. There are many other brands out there that cost the same, or LESS than the "YAMAHA" brand, but I spent the extra money because I wanted and trust the YAMAHA brand name. I am not going to return the products because they are not bad quality. I am just dissapointed that they are being advertised as "YAMAHA" products

November 8, 2016
Be advised: This sustain pedal does not have a polarity switch. This means that its polarity will be reversed for some keyboards (like mine... a Casio electric piano, as well as my Alesis VI61 MIDI controller). Basically, when you don't have the pedal pressed, it will sustain your notes... and when you press it, your notes will be unsustained (cut short). So the reverse of the sustain may happen, depending on your keyboard.

Yes, I tried several online remedies, however, to now avail.
Stopped working after one gig.
November 9, 2014
I'd give zero stars if it were possible.

Unfortunately for me I didn't work this into my rig until a month or two after I bought it; I did test it out to make sure it worked with my keyboards (a Kurzweil pc3 and Roland vr-700). I used it at one gig, worked fine. I bought it to toggle the leslie speed on the Roland primarily, and the next gig it simply didn't work. I tried it with the pc3 as well to make sure it wasn't a problem with the Roland, but no dice there either. So I paid quite a bit for a leslie toggle switch for one gig, and my mistake for not gigging this dud right away (as then it would have been close enough to the date of purchase to return).

I'm very careful with my gear, there was nothing traumatic that happened to this pedal. It simply stopped working.
Triggers on release, not on press
May 27, 2014
I planned to use this as a Kick & Bass drum trigger for my Alesis PerformancePro Pad. The sounds didn't trigger until the press was released. So you'd have to press, then release to get your sound. Definitely not good for that usage.

Broken body, loose piece in piano, stuck keys
October 5, 2016
I bought this digital piano as a birthday gift for my brother. The gift arrived on time, however the body of the piano was missing a piece on the back and the keys were stuck.
One of the buttons started making noise and the other buttons are untuned.

One of the buttons have stopped is making noise . Seriously!!!! after like a month or so it stops working? Totally unacceptable. Rather buy from a local vendor who would guarantee a repair atleast.
Disliked this piano, description Inaccurate For Yamaha P-45B
April 5, 2016
The description on this Amazon page says: "GHS weighted action is heavier in the low end and lighter in the high end, just like an acoustic piano."However going to Yamaha product website we see the difference: "Yamaha's GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) weighted action has heavier touch in the low end and lighter touch in the high end, just like the hammers inside an acoustic piano."These are two very different things, I bought a piano based on online advertising that would sound just like an acoustic piano. This does not at all play like an acoustic piano, however I understand what Yamaha means when they say just like the hammers inside an acoustic piano. This means that they are modeling how the hammer hits, not that it is just like an acoustic piano.Out of the 15 or so digital and/or physical pianos I've owned, and out of the 100's or so that I've played on, this is the absolute worst piano I have ever used. I am having to SLAM on the keys to produce high velocities. I mean slam with more force used than to pound a nail into a piece of wood with a hammer. My fingernails started to bleed after just one song. I will not be keeping this piano. I've owned $100 pianos way better than this.
