Five Star Reviews: | 51% Stable and easy to attach June 23, 2017 I was dubious whether this stand would really work for my very old second-hand keyboard... but it was simple. Just lay the keyboard upside down, and the stand bolts into place with a few twists of your screwdriver. My keyboard never leaves the corner of my craftroom so I didn't need or want a folding stand, but if you needed to transport the keyboard it would be just as easy to unscrew the stand, fold it up, and stick it in the car until you got to where you were going. Use it on my Yamaha YPG-235 May 29, 2016 I bought this stand to use with my new Yamaha YPG-235. My keyboard came with a stand that was actually pretty good. But this one had good reviews, so I went for it. It works well is very sturdy. The only thing I didn't like is that the brackets to mount the keyboard do not light up for this keyboard. But it sits just fine on the stand. Just would have been nice if those could have been adjustable as well. Very good buy. April 21, 2016 Fit my Keyboard perfectly. The Yamaha NP-12 Keyboard. What can I say. The stand is a perfect fit. Because it is not adjustable you will have to use a stool that will fit your playing style but that is minor seeing as though it is much sturdier than the X Frame Stands. Do not hesitate to buy this one. It's a keeper if your keyboard is made for it. Sturdy for a full digital piano January 10, 2014 I bought this for my casio cdp 120 digital piano, which is 88-keys and weighs about 40lbs. The stability is great. I use it for sitting down, and the is much more leg room than an x style stand for sitting. Another nice touch is the soft pads for the keyboard to rest on. Great Keyboard Stand For The Price July 22, 2013 I had one of these that got bent with some heavier keyboards I use to use, so I bought a new one. It works perfect with my Roland FP4 which weight's 32lbs. It's stable and it dosen't rock front to back or side to side. It's light weight making it easy to carry. The legs are not long, so people don't trip over it when I'm doing a solo gig or band members when I do a band gig. When I got the stand, there was some assembly required. The directions were not too clear. I assembled it worng and had to take it apart and re assemble. There are 2 main bolts that hold this stand together, it only came with 1. I went to a local hardware store and got the bolt and washers I needed. That would be the only issue. All in all, it's a great stand for a light to medium light weight keyboard. Anything much over 40 lbs, you need something stronger. I had used a Roland xv88 for a while. The frame by a bold bent. So any of the new lighter keyboards like the 88 key keyboards like Korg Krome, Yamaha MOX8, Roland RD 300 family and Roland FP family, this stand is a good choice. Of course for 76 and 61 key keyboards, it's great. I'm a full time musician and work about 32 gig's a month and do all types of gig's. The stand is holding up in every enviorment I use it in. Great Keyboard Stand For The Price!!! | 65% A very pleased customer 😊 January 12, 2017 I received my Yamaha electric keyboard stand on time and packaged well. The stand is great! Heavy duty and is great looking as well my son had no problem assembling it. I would recommend this item to a friend Simply awesome for the price. December 29, 2015 Very sturdy stand and no matter how wide your keyboard is, this stand can accommodate because the top arms are adjustable and slide out as much as needed. Also the top arms have small wings at the end to keep your keyboard in place and not worry about sliding back and forth. Adjusts easily. Great keyboard stand! Highly recommended January 26, 2015 This is an extremely sturdy stand that is one of the best keyboard stands I have ever used. It is a bit heavy, which is a great thing, because that means it won't wobble. Assembly was easy, and the adjustable clamps will be able to accommodate any size keyboard. Although I wish it were possible to actually close them more. It isn't a big deal because of the excellent durability this stand has which more than makes up for that. X-Stand YKA7500 April 26, 2011 When I received the package, I was surprised that neither the box nor the stand has a YAMAHA label on it. So I have posted an image of the box for reference purposes. The X-Stand built quality is excellent. Very strong and sturdy. I felt it is worth the investment.Light assembly required, it's easy to assemble. In my case it was little tricky since my stand had the Yellow, Green & Purple stickers mixed up (that help to align the X with the bottom & top pieces). However it was no brainer to figure out the right way to assemble it. |
Four Star Reviews: | 19% Like many have said December 25, 2016 Just bought this for Christmas for my new Digital Piano. Like many have said, this is advertised as a Yamaha Product, but it is not. It is some random no name brand. The description also says easy assembly, which would have been true, but the instructions are a little unclear at times. Im not sure why I am even saying "instructions" all that is included is one picture. You Have to figure it out on your own for the most part. Feels stable for the most part. Hopefully this lasts Standing at the stand June 3, 2016 The stand is stable, fairly easy to put together, and very moveable. My sole complaint (and it may be unique to me, who knows) is that I bump my shins on the lower half of the crossed bars if a don't push the bench pretty far back. I'm now used to sitting a bit further back from the keyboard than I'm accustomed to, so it's turned out to be not much of a problem. But I can't help wondering about the ergo-engineers; were they designing only for players who stand (i.e., many professional pop performers)? Good stand for the price... December 27, 2015 The box arrived somewhat banged up, but the item inside was not damaged. It comes in 7 pieces and assembly is shown by a diagram. Slightly confusing but pretty straight forward. It lost a star because the click notches to lock the stand in position, did not allow for my son's Yamaha E343 to sit correctly in the molded grooves on the underside of the keyboard itself. One notch made it too wide, the next wasn't wide enough. Odd, only because they are both "Yamaha" branded products. However, that small detail does not take away from the construction of the stand itself. We're going to keep it. Good, reliable keyboard stand December 2, 2015 Good keyboard stand, have had it for about 5 years now. Everything is working properly on it, no issues or malfunctioning parts. The only thing for me is that I wish the bottom two segments that hold up keyboard stand on the ground weren't so wide.. When I place the keyboard stand against a wall, the length of these bottom segments causes the stand to stick out farther away from the wall than I'd want it to. Same price as most stands but better quality April 23, 2007 I had looked at numerous stands for my Yamaha keyboard and didn't want to spend a ton of money for a professional grade stand (at professional prices). With that in mind, the Yamaha PKBX2 Double X Portable Keyboard Stand is a good choice at $29.99. I had seen other stands that were not as sturdy (single X stands)and cost about the same price. Tips for assembly: - Don't read the instructions, just look at the enlarged image of the keyboard stand on Amazon and assemble the stand the way it's shown. - The bolts for attaching the arms and legs come screwed in to the stand. Use the (included )Allen Wrench to remove them and then re-install them when you are putting it together. PROS: - Low price. - Solid, sturdy stand. - Works for just about any keyboard. - The stand's height is fully adjustable, and can be easily changed in several seconds - without having to unscrew anything. CONS: - There is no way to attach a keyboard to this stand. No screws, bolts or straps are included, even though most (including my Yamaha) keyboards have pre-drilled holes for screwing the board to a stand. The keyboard simply sits on top of the stand. I was VERY disappointed about this. - The included Allen wrench did not work for one of the bolts. The bolt came screwed in to the stand way too tightly to be removed using the included tool. The Allen Wrench only stripped the bolt, it did not loosen it. Luckily my husband had a better Allen Wrench of nearly identical size, and that one worked. Without it, we would not have been able to loosen the bolt. | 20% Warning! The Minimum Width is 14 inches not 11 inches as described December 5, 2015 Well made, if not a bit heavy. I am returning it because the width on the description says 11 inches but in reality the minimum width is like 14 inches. I have a narrow keyboard that measures 11 3/4 inches in width. This stand looked to be perfect after reading the product description. So unless I was shipped the wrong keyboard, the product description needs to be corrected. ... top doesn't adjust to the width of the keyboard like I expected it to July 25, 2014 The top doesn't adjust to the width of the keyboard like I expected it to. Furthermore, the minimum height is still very tall---too tall for any of the chairs in my house. I sit on some pillows on my chair. I put the pedal on some books to raise it to where my foot comfortably can rest.As a result, this stand probably should be bought alongside an adjustable bench. Very good stand! April 28, 2014 I can see why the tag line is the tag line for this stand ... Built by musicians for musicians. When deciding on how many stars to give the stand I was torn between 3 or 4. I ended up going 4 because of the construction and solid feel to the stand. I am currently using it for a Yamaha MoXF 8 and it feels great on there.I have 2 complains about it. The instructions to assemble the stand were not concise. The best thing I can recommend is not to over think it and the color codings do help. The other complaint is that when you are sitting the stand is still just a tad high - about 3 or 4 inches above my belly button which will cause you to raise your hands while playing which can get a tad uncomfortable but after playing for 2 hours today it didn't bother me.All in all a great stand by Yamaha. I would not hesitate to recommend it. The stand also has great grips to keep your keyboard secure and has a quick raise/lower mechanism. Great stand if you're standing November 20, 2013 This is sturdy, built like a tank. But if you want to sit and play it is a tad too high[ about one 'notch' higher than the typical x style stand. I have a CP300 on it right now, which is a rather thick keyboard, that makes a difference. I still wish it was a tad lower. But it is a very nice, well engineered, strong stand. I love the clutch used to raise and lower it. I like it, but... May 17, 2010 Sturdy and solid as a rock, but I wish it could adjust to a lower height. At it's lowest setting it puts my keyboard almost 3 inches higher than my acoustic piano. |
Three Star Reviews: | 10% STAND IS GREAT.. September 15, 2016 STAND IS GREAT.....Amazon's Packaging......LOUSY. I purchased the stand based on the ratings and also that is compatible with my Yamaha PSR E-413. It fits GREAT. It works Great. I SHOULD note that Yamaha (sealed package) put in three screws that were TWICE the length needed....and the instructions said to use the "SHORTER" on the center support. They were all EQUAL and WAY TOO LONG. IF you plan on popping the KB off, then find some metric dies and cut OFF the screws, otherwise, be prepared to TWIST the knob for a LONG time. The box arrived with the corners torn open and part of the metal stand hanging out. My wife wanted to know if there were ANY electronics in it. It looked like it was caught on the FedEx conveyor or the USPS folks locally used it as home plate for their midnight ball game. I do NOT know if a real FedEx van brought it or if it was delivered by my USPS carrier....as we were NOT at home at the time. Fortunately, there was no damage. The wall thickness of of the OEM Yamaha box is thin and there is no internal padding or supports. Love the stand....just glad it got here in as good a shape as it was... Holds the piano, pain to put together. February 22, 2016 This came with a piano we purchased. I will say, I am not impressed. It does hold the weight of they keyboard, which we have a heavier one. But it was a pain to put together. If you need any instructions at all, forget it. They give you a picture, not even a very good one, and no help. I am pretty adept at put together items and this one had me wanting to toss it out the window. You would think 6 parts couldn't be hard. Yeah, you would think wrong. It's not well crafted. But, as I said, it holds the piano, even though it's not correct once you see it. Good enough for an entry level keyboard and calm playing style August 24, 2015 The front retainer pegs will always be at an angle to the keyboard because they are aligned with the poles themselves rather than being turned to be perpendicular with the horizon when stand is expanded to an X. I wish it also had rear pegs to prevent the unit from sliding back - I feel like this has to be up against a wall or other object when playing so probably not ideal for freestanding play - especially with kids or if your playing style is like Mark Mallman. Those parts aside, it seems to do the job and is good enough for my cheap keyboard. Decent, Serviceable Practice Stand December 19, 2014 A basic, serviceable piano stand. It will do the trick for practicing, but is definitely not high-end. As others have noted, the directions are pretty much useless. A single picture and two incomprehensible notes ("Short end of feet must be to the outside of the stand." Huh???). But if you look at the picture enough, assembly isn't bad. The biggest challenge is locating the connecting screws. There are eight of them -- painted black and fully screwed into the recessed attachment points for the black bars. Incredibly easy to miss. To find them, look at where you'll eventually attach them. Then look again really closely. Stability is decent. The rubber thingies keep the piano in place on the stand and the stand is stable enough as long as you don't go all Viv Savage on the keyboard. I have mine on a shallow carpet and it's fine for practicing. The small pull handle on the adjusting pin has already split, but I can fix that with some tape and/or glue. Not a big deal. So for $30-$35, you'll get a serviceable practice stand. If your needs are greater, then you should look elsewhere. Sturdy, but at lowest setting piano keyboard is still higher than a real piano May 28, 2014 The stand seems sturdy and well-made. But if you intend to set up your keyboard at the height of a real piano (a little over 28 inches from the floor), you might consider another stand. At the stand's lowest setting, my Yamaha CP40 piano keyboard is 30 1/2 inches from the ground. Not necessarily a big deal, but I also ordered the Yamaha PKBB1 keyboard bench, which has a maximum height of 20 1/2 inches. For most people, this bench height is fine if your keyboard is 28 inches from the floor, but it's too low if, as in this case, the keyboard is 30 1/2 inches from the floor. I had to choose between returning the stand or returning the bench, so I'm returning the bench and getting a taller one. The PKBB1 bench should probably not be sold as a bundle with this stand. | 9% It's sturdy enough, but the platform arms meant to hold ... April 27, 2017 It's sturdy enough, but the platform arms meant to hold the actual piano are too wide, rendering the adjustable clamps useless. This is ironic considering that this is a Yamaha product. It won't even fit their own pianos. despite the laws of physics being defied and so far so good. It is sturdy enough to hold a full ... September 27, 2016 This was nearly impossible to put together. It did eventually happen, despite the laws of physics being defied and so far so good. It is sturdy enough to hold a full size keyboard and it lives in my daughter's room. Think about where you place this thing too.... maybe not somewhere that you find yourself walking in in the dark and maybe you wont stub your toe on it like me:) Too High! January 14, 2015 Really great, but the lowest height is very high -- much higher than other stands I've used. Too bad because everything else about this stand is excellent. not is stable in a small keyboard August 16, 2012 is secured with screws so it get to loose, only recomended for the heaviest keyboards because in a small one don get secure Solid stand, but be aware that this is not a Yamaha product January 25, 2012 Also requires wrenches, which it did not come with, and the instructions leave the part out where you have to unlock the cross-bracings to adjust the height (using aforementioned wrenches). But simple, solid stand otherwise. Does not seem very portable as you have to take it apart to put it into a folding configuration. Stable, but a pain December 10, 2009 The other reviews have it right when they say this stand is definitely stable and easy to adjust...from the top. Stupid locking wheel in the center is not so convenient, and you pretty much have to unscrew the base supports to collapse it down for storage or to make it shorter. Don't know that that inconvenience is really worth the cost on this one. |
Two Star Reviews: | 6% Tall people may have issues with cross-beam design July 21, 2017 Good quality with solid design BUT the cross-beams really interfere with my knees and prevent me from sitting comfortable at the piano (I am 5'11'). I had to stop using it and will sell on Craiglist. Have bought a different design from amazon: Knox Gear Z Style Adjustable Heavy Duty Piano Keyboard Stand. Not good for me March 11, 2017 Seems sturdy but I don't like the adjustment mechanism. It doesn't offer enough adjustment settings. One adjustment was too low, the next adjustment was too high. I had to make a plywood spacer to get the height that I wanted. I suggest looking at other stands. Decent, but not safe. December 28, 2016 Pros: not a bad stand. Study and allows for height adjustment. Cons: I think the directions (picture telling g you where the screws are) were only included to make you angry since they offer no information on assembly. There is no way to attach the keyboard to the stand, so it simply sits on top and it has shifted twice today causing the endcap to pop off. If you live alone this should be no problem, if you have toddlers avoid this purchase. Poor quality and damaged. January 10, 2016 I don't know if I was shipped a return for another customer, or if this is just a low quality product. The box was damaged. The stand had several scratches and dents. There is something rattling around inside of one of the legs. The instructions were useless. I found the assembly to be much easier once I threw the instructions in the garbage. That being said, the stand is fairly sturdy and does the job. too high November 6, 2015 purchased this stand as part of a package with the P115 keyboard - plus's are that it's solid, sturdy, cheap as part of package, and i thought went together fairly easily. I was surprised to see that the keyboard just sat on top of stand (didn't fit into slots, etc.), but it was stable and didn't slide easily, so okay. (this is my first keyboard/stand, didn't know what to expect) The big minus is that the lowest setting of the stand is about 26". When you put the P115 on top of it, keys are ~ 31.5" off the floor......too high re standard piano height, and too high for my adjustable stool (which came with the package) even on highest setting. This to me is not a small thing; bought this for my grandkids to learn piano, and seat position is critical. It's way too high for me, and I'm 6'2". May have to spring for the "permanent" stand, which is clearly lower.....don't understand why this should be, seems to be an easy design parameter. | 5% No way to secure keyboard April 15, 2017 Purchased this for my daughter's Yamaha keyboard. Very easy to assemble but there is no way to secure the keyboard to the stand. The keyboard slides back and forth and side to side. Keyboard could slide right off if you accidentally bump into it. Not much space for your legs if sitting on a stool. Not good for narrow keyboards January 6, 2017 This is very sturdy (and heavy). I bought the stand for my Yamaha P-115 keyboard because it is made by the same company. Unfortunately the keyboard is way too narrow for this stand to grip and there's some 4 inches of extra space behind the keyboard. Also when I play my right knee bumps up against the diagonal leg. This stand might be good for big keyboards, but if yours is on the smaller side do not get this. Hard to assemble and use December 30, 2014 I really see very little reason why this shouldn't come pre-assembled, at least to a greater extent than it is. We spent forever trying to figure out the useless instructions, including how to get the circle joist to release into the middle position so that the x legs actually fit into the legs. I just saw that someone answered this in the comments section (you pull on the little rubber level at the keyboard level). The stand seems fine, although less adjustable than I was hoping: it's much wider than my Yamaha P105B, and it's impossible to tighten the top any more than I already have so that it fits snugly around the piano. It's also quite a bit heavier than I thought it would be. I mean, it's more or less serving its purpose, but it's hard for me to understand why the reviews here are generally so positive. Maybe there aren't better alternatives. |
One Star Reviews: | 14% Nothing but frustration with Yamaha products so far July 15, 2017 The height of this stand is either too low or too high. No way to make my keyboard to be 72 cm from the floor. It's either 65 cm or 80 cm. If you turn the stand the other way round, it's about 82 cm minimum. I bought it in set with Yamaha P71, and I expected it to fit the product. Update: I had to extend one of the holes with a file to get a perfect height of the stand. Not a big deal, just 10$ for a file in local hw store and 10 minutes of work... But I'd prefer to buy product, that fits my needs out of the box. Try your luck with terrible packaging. They saved money by not including any bubble wap, mine came already broken February 14, 2017 Arrived broken. There's a little knob that helps you adjust it, this was split completely in half when I pulled it out of the box. I guess that's what happens when you send a bunch of metal pipes with a small plastic component and absolutely no bubble wrap or peanuts or anything. Everything I ordered with this is fine, but I can't set up my keyboard because there is no way to build the stand. I tried to set it up without it, and now an important spring is lost somewhere inside one of the pipes. Kind of annoyed, hoping I can get a replacement. BUYER BEWARE -- this is not Yamaha -- I had ... January 18, 2017 BUYER BEWARE -- this is not Yamaha -- I had the same situation as some of these other comments that I checked post-purchase. Essentially, this is a cheap Chinese product. It feels cheap, the box does not have anything to do with Yamaha, there were no instructions--just a picture, and a poorly grammatical hint that the screws were located at the ends. And it bent/broke within five minutes of use. SO DON'T BUY THIS. Seriously... I never write comments, but it would be unethical not to report this. The pinhole slowly bent and now this stand only lies flat June 5, 2016 This stand requires assembly. The end of each long post (the big X) has a screw inside that needs to first be unscrewed and then rescrewed through the short crossbars. Some of the screws were painted over and couldn't be removed. After a week, the pin holding the X intersection of the stand in place popped out and wouldn't go back in. On closer inspection, the metal pinhole slowly bent out of place until it was too big to support the pin anymore. I'll try to return it. Until then, it's sitting on the floor, flat and unusable. I expect better quality control from Amazon- I advise others to buy ... January 13, 2015 Not only is this product clearly not manufactured Yamaha, but it arrived without any assembly instructions and missing a necessary bolt to put it together. I expect better quality control from Amazon- I advise others to buy this elsewhere and saved the shipping hassle. | 1% Do Not Buy March 28, 2017 Do not buy.For the following reasons I will tell everyone I know not to buy this item:1. Assembly should have been easy; I have put together dozens of these stands, however, the colored stickers on this particular stand, per instructions, did not line up. Unacceptable.2. Tried to force the colored piece ends together and bent all the pieces and cut my hand. Unacceptable.I am returning this item. Do not buy. |
