Five Star Reviews: | 58% It's glue people, does it really need a review? April 19, 2016 Yay, it's Glue...Stick Glue. You apply to on piece of paper and stick it to another piece of paper and let it dry. Now you have two pieces of paper stuck to each other for life. Nice product February 6, 2015 Works fine. My kid likes this product. The color fades away and leaves behind no hint of it. Easy to see when you have apply the glue. | 81% Does the job May 10, 2017 Well, it's glue. It sticks. There's not much more to say. lol These glue sticks are my FAVORITE type. Would recommend. I use glue sticks for 3D printing. April 27, 2017 I don't use glue sticks for paper. I use the glue stick to keep the 3D printed plastic sticking to the print bed of my 3D printer. Does the job. 3D printing glue for glass beds September 22, 2016 I use this glue on my glass 3D printer bed and it is amazing. Since it easily washes off with cold water, it makes clean up quick and easy. I recommend this to anyone who is 3D printing on a glass bed with PLA or ABS as an easy way to get the filament to stick to the bed while making it easy to remove after the bed has cooled. These are HUGE July 5, 2016 I use these glue sticks for the bed of my 3D printer. Purple glue stick works great for sticking the 3D prints to the glass bed. This product gets 5 stars because these larger sticks are HUGE and are a way better value than the small sticks. Unless you are doing precision work, I recommend these larger sticks.LIKED THIS REVIEW? Please help others see this too by pressing the button YES below. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a youtube video by a guy who claimed that purple glue stick worked better than hairspray April 8, 2016 I do a lot of 3D printing with ABS and other filaments that need help sticking to a heated bed. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a youtube video by a guy who claimed that purple glue stick worked better than hairspray. Now I'm a guy who shaves his head every day; what need do I have for hairspray? Or worse, creating some slurry from ABS scraps and acetone? What am I, a chemist? Nope, I'm an electrical engineer. I don't need to be mixing up noxious chemicals in my printing room. So I gave the glue stick treatment a try and what do you know, it will stick both ABS and PLA, it's non toxic, there's no fumes, and it goes on quickly and cleans up with water. I have to keep these locked up because my kids have discovered that they're also good for (who would have thought of this) sticking papers together for art projects. Sticky in a stick. May 20, 2015 Just the thing to lightly apply to my 3D printer print surface. I have used it on glass as well as BuildTak and it is a much better alternative to 'ABS Glue', it goes on easier, comes off easier, and doesn't leave a permanent color on the bottom of my prints. It is water soluble so you can wash it off your prints or your print surface and start over at any time. It doesn't take much so one jumbo stick lasts a long time.Oh yeah and I hear it sticks paper to stuff pretty well too. :) |
Four Star Reviews: | 26% Great for projects. July 28, 2016 We have been working with my daughter on her letters and numbers and this glue stick has been great for making little test pages. We glued pictures to a piece of poster board and then she has to put the letter it starts with next to it. Works great. It's glue. It sticks as that is what it does. January 12, 2016 I needed a stick glue when I was making holiday cards this year (heavy weight paper on heavy weight paper) without the glue showing through. This fit the bill awesomely. My only problem is I could not find this in stores (Jo-annes / Michaels) and there didn't seem to be a larger stick as I went through this one pretty quickly. As this was an add-on item at the time of purchase, I didn't have enough items later on to buy another stick. It also seemed to take more glue to stick than the Elmer's version (which was not as awesome). If you are looking for a good, and cheap, stick glue, this fits the bill perfectly. Just make sure to buy extra! Four Stars December 23, 2015 It's so much better to know where the glue is than not. Such a simple thing and so useful. Works as intended July 4, 2015 Works as intended, just deducted a star because it came with glue around the stick itself so it's almost impossible not to get it on your hands when you twist it to extend the glue out more. Purple Glue February 16, 2015 A great glue for scrap or smash booking. I love using it. The glue is quick to stick & hold so make sure you lay items down as correctly as possible. Fast shipping & great price. | 5% Its great depending on what your purpose December 15, 2016 *** Update ***For you 3D printers out there... alcohol doesn't really clean this stuff off. I tried acetone and it doesn't help much either. I happen to have some CRL 1973 Glass Cleaner on hand and it tapes off this sticky glue very well.*****************I use this for 3D printing. It was recommended "The Purple One", and yes it works great! I use this directly on a glass build plate and it STICKS! This is true, since when you miss a spot, this area has a tendency to lift and curl.My heated build plate was damaged and had to get a pane of glass to continue printing (without heat). This glue turns white and (hard) waxy when heat is applied (from the hot filament) and is very difficult to get off. It is said to use alcohol to remove it, but perhaps acetone may work better.I'm sure it's great for kids to do their projects, since my 7yo walks by and says, "Did you buy those? Those are some HUGE glue sticks!", so I assume they use Chapstick-sized glue-sticks in school. The harder cured consistency is probably a good thing for kid projects. Good for presentations June 20, 2016 These glue sticks are great for board projections as long as you don't overdo them. |
Three Star Reviews: | 12% didn't do the job September 12, 2016 it doesn't work that well. this might be good for the kids but i bought it to repair my son's book sand elmers white glue, the messy stuff, just works better. this just didn't do the trick though it's easy to work with. Glues well, doesn't dry super clear June 18, 2016 It's okay. It works as you'd expect a glue stick to work. I tested it out on various transparent materials to see if it does dry clear, but it definitely leaves a decent amount of visible residue. Stick broke :'( November 6, 2015 I wish I could just say "Hey, it's a glue stick, what more could you want?"But it's just annoying that the first time I twist it up then back down to put away, the stick breaks halfway and gets stuck rendering the twisty thing useless. It's 2015, is there not a better method? Nice and Handy. July 20, 2015 Nice little glue for a good price. Small size makes it very handy. But the glue stick became dry within a few months. Expected LARGER gluestick June 6, 2015 My fault for not reading the fine print. I expected the larger gluestick for this price. | 3% |
Two Star Reviews: | 1% It's okay but doesn't last. May 19, 2017 One stick lasted me about a day. If you are planning on using it a lot I would check out other brands. If you just need it for something quick it should be fine since it works out okay, you just need to use a lot. | 3% It dries too quickly to do anything with it. ... August 13, 2016 It dries too quickly to do anything with it. I was mounting papers on to card with it, but by the time you have all the corners and edges covered, its already started drying, and won't stick. When it did stick, and seemed to stick well, it would peel off 10 minutes later. |
One Star Reviews: | 3% It's cheap but don't buy it. December 21, 2015 Doesn't hold anything. It was $89 cents and people said it was good so though I'd try it since it was so cheap. But it's not even worth the $89 cents. This should be discontinued. Not permanent at all. Not permanent as advertised May 13, 2015 I purchased this glue stick because it is advertised as being permanent. It's not. After a couple of hours of gluing paper to paper with it I could easily peel it right off. I re-glued it making sure I covered the entire item to be glued on, but again most of it could be peeled off after drying. Not so great when gluing shipping labels onto packages! | 8% |
