Amazing customer service
August 15, 2017
I have had this compressor for over 2 years and it has served me well doing the jobs I purchased it for. It is good value for the money. Recently I developed a couple of issues with the unit which was rendering it almost unusable. I called Kensun customer support and even though I was unable to provide purchase details they were able to look it up and I was out of warranty. After I inquired about any repair service availablilit ythe customer service representative offered to replace the unit for me even though it was out of warranty. Amazing customer service from finding my purchase with just mailing address to the offer to replace. I will look for Kensun products in the future for sure.

I have only used this item x 1 since I received it. I added 5 pounds air to each of 2 minivan tires using the AC110V plug. It took no more than 1 minute to pump in the air to the proper tire inflation. In the past I used a manual tire pump which took about 5 -10 minutes per tire to pump the same amount of air into each tire . The gauge on the Kensun air compressor indicated when the desired tire pressure was reached The pressure gauge on the Kensun air compressor gave me the same readings as my manual tire pressure gauge. The Kensun air compressor also comes with on/off switches for the DC 12V and AC 110V depending on which power source is used to power the Kensun air compressor. It also comes with:1. a 4.0m cord with AC 110V plug2. a 3.0m cord with DC 110V cigarette plug3.DC 12V socket4. a 1A fuse for AC 110V5. AC 110 V socket6. adapters for car tires, balls ,inflatables, PVC boats7. a carrying case Kensun customer service emailed me shortly after I received my air compressor. They wanted to know if everything was ok with my order and to contact them with any questions or concerns. As it turned out one of the plastic components of the DC cigarette plug that had been shipped with the Kensun air compressor had been broken into multiple pieces. I emailed Kensun about this with attached photos of the broken DC cigarette plug. Kensun emailed me back and stated that they had already sent me a replacement DC plug. I had not requested a replacement in my email to them. Kensun did so on its own volition. I also noted that the Kensun air compressor and accessories were extremely well packaged for shipping with lots of padding. As I said earlier, I have only used this compressor X 1. At this point in my ownership of this product, I would have to give 5 stars to Kensun air compressor and Kensun customer service.
Great Features & Easy to Use
December 2, 2015
Filling Station Pumps are harder than ever to find, often broken and always cost money. Enter Kensun - this product has a ton of of features:1) In includes the adapters to power it from your CAR or your HOME.2) Included Gauge is easy to use and read and accurate enough to be safe.3) A person who has never a powered inflator will understand it 1st try.4) The included adapters will help you with your sports or pool equipment.5) It is small and includes a good quality soft storage case which makes it easy to stow away (i.e. trunk) and is worth its weight in Gold when you need it!6) I had a problem on the first unit that was shipped - but this seller contacted me back and fixed my problem immediately and helped me BEYOND what I expected. Credit card points, being busy and being a person who loves shopping that consists of finding the lowest cost products neatly stacked at my front door makes me shop Amazon heavily. This seller/product's item and customer support grades A+ as compared to the hundreds of products I receive via Amazon Fulfillment annually.RECOMMEDED

Needed to put air in my tires. When we had a bit of a cold snap the Low Tire Pressure light lit up on my car's dash. Tried using the coin operated air compressor at the gas station to inflate the tires, but that didn't work. I decide to check out tire inflator air compressors here on Amazon. After checking out many models available I decided to purchase this one. I like that it can be used with a regular home outlet and with the 12v car plug. Also liked that it looked like it was solidly built, based on the photos and the other reviews on here. Also liked that it can be used for bike tires. It came in a black storage bag, and included the 110 v home wire and the 12 V car plug. Has a separate on/off switch for each power source. Also came with other attachments to fill up balls and other inflatables. Directions are minimal, printed on a small piece of paper. Don't know much about cars or specs on tires or air compressors so i just wanted something that would be easy to use and decent value.Basically, after checking the tire pressure needed, I lugged the unit in and connected it to the tire. Turned it on and noticed a few things. It's rather loud. It vibrates a lot so that when you're looking at the gauge the needle vibrates as well. . Topped off the tires in a few minutes and used a tire pressure gauge to check the tire pressure. Was a good deal for the price. Handy to have in the car when needed.
A quality piece of equipment!
October 9, 2015
Believe it or not this is the first air compressor I have ever purchased! I always have done it the 'hard way' & pumped up all of my bicycle tires with an ordinary hand pump. A friend saw me struggling away & recommended the Kensun D1002 AC (Home 110 V & 12 V car.)This piece of equipment is very easy to use with a very accurate & easy to read gauge, an easy to attach pump hose, & a power cord that is certainly long enough to make most job's accessible. I only wish I would have purchased this a number of years ago & I would have saved myself a lot of hard work!

I now own 2 different models. 1 is AC/DC and the other is DC only. They are both excellent products. Both have a solid weight to them so when in use they don't vibrate around. Both have excellent connectors. Both units pump air extremely well. Both units are reasonably quiet. The DC unit comes with a light and a programmable tire pressure gauge. Another outstanding feature to mention about Kensun is their customer service. Here is a pic of the 12v unit. Hope this helps.

If you're looking for the best pressure gauge out there, you've found it so stop looking!
March 9, 2017
I don't typically take the time to leave reviews for products, especially for something like a tire gauge, but this is a really high quality tire gauge and it deserves a review. The product is exactly as described. The scale is easy to read, the pressure holds for accurate reading until release the pressure, and my reading seem to be consistently repeatable time after time. The stem is long enough to easily fit on any tire stem valve and to make it easier to read the stem also rotates. This unit also has a small metal nipple on the back of the head that allow you to release pressure from the tire if needed. I purchased two of these and the next time I need another tire pressure gauge I'll be purchase this one. It's nice enough to be a great car guy/girl gift.
The Last Tire Gauge You Will Buy
February 22, 2017
I bought 4 of these for a friend, my children, and myself. I bought them because they were top-rated and reasonably priced. One of my best purchases to date from Amazon. The tip swivels, so you can easily access the valve stem regardless of position. The tool holds the pressure reading so you can remove it from the tire to read the dial. The seal in the tip is constructed to allow fuss-free alignment for quick reading. The dial face and needle allow quick reading even in dim light. The rubber surround protects the gauge but also gives you excellent grip for positioning in rain or with gloves on.I've probably owned 10 or 15 tire gauges through the years. This is the best of them - by far.Highly recommended
Enhance Safety/Performance with this Excellent Tool!
February 27, 2016
This has a very readable face for quick acquisition of air pressure levels and a convenient bleed air button for removing excess of the same. The rotating tip makes this even more user friendly as it accommodates the awkward geometry that tire valve stems are often found in. The rubber shock absorber allows for placement in the center of the palm of the hand for full control and placement of the gauge onto the valve stem of the tire while also isolating the internal mechanism from damaging bumps. Not a lot of money for a tool that will promote the longevity and safe operation of your vehicle's only safety device between it and the roadway------the tires!
Excellent guage, great customer service....quick!
February 21, 2016
Superior product, bought one for myself and I like it so much I bought one for my son. It reads quite accurate, easily attaches to valve, and the mid range is centered right around your passenger cars normal readings. Recommended!Update : Now this "lifetime" guage will not hold the reading anymore and leaksdown. I have contacted the seller and will update . This guage has been used lightly, it shouldn't be having this problem.Follow up : Owner contacted. me very quick and made things right. I own one and gave another to my son, he loves it. This guage has always read accurate from day one, the only problem was one of them not holding readings, which was quickly fixed by the owner. Such service is becoming very rare nowadays. Buy with confidence from a company that backs its products.Update 9/17/17 my son dropped his and from then on it would still read accurate, just not hold the reading. I solved this by taking the end off and resetting the spring straight... It was cocked sideways from the drop. Now it is back also holding the reading again :). Easy fix, great gauge!
A Top notch gauge!
April 22, 2015
Right off the bat, this gauge is everything I thought it would be. I won't go crazy here, it's only a tire gauge. But, it's a HIGH QUALITY one. I wanted one that didn't have a high pressure scale like, oh, around 100-150 psi. because this gauge is going to be dedicated for use on my Honda GL1800 Goldwing which, has tire pressures in the 36-40 range. So, I wanted a gauge that would indicate my pressures, in the middle of the sweep. And, this one fits that bill, perfectly. It arrived on time, in fact, a bit earlier than the scheduled arrival date.
It's got a good feel to it, and, the head swivels, just like advertised. That makes for great ergonomics when in trying assess pressures on hard to get to spots. The release valve holds the pressures for you to read then, a slight press, (very slight) released it. The gauge fits in a side pocket on the bike so it's always handy. For the price, there's no way you can go wrong here. I'd recommend it in a heart beat.

Plastic But Works Great!
May 17, 2016
Great little tire gauge. Comes with batteries and is ready to go right out of the package. It feels kind of plasticky, like if it dropped from a high enough distance it would definitely crack or shatter, but it does what it says it does! The back-lit display is really useful, and there is a ring that lights up where you insert the tire stem, which was SUPER helpful when trying to find the stem in pitch black conditions. Also, it will output the pressure in BAR measurement as well as PSI. Apart from the cheap plastic feel, this is great to keep in your car or garage. I have to buy two more. One for the garage and one for the fiance's car.
didnt need, but glad i bought. wouldnt change a thing
August 24, 2015
i havent had mine long or used it a lot but i cant think how anyone could say anything bad about it.its easy to use, i love the lights, seems accurate and reliable.i only have 1 other tire gauge and it came with a $75 tire deflater kit so i assume its better than your average tire gauge and this digital gauge reads the exact same as the other gauge i have. much faster, and easier might i addyou might not think much of the lights, but i went to go to work and had a flat and needed to air up my tire before i left. i work nights and so the lights on the gauge were a lifesaver. i was in a hurry and didnt have time to find a flashlight or pull out my phone and use the flashlight(plus that requires another hand)
I'd recommend the TEKTON 5941 to you!!
June 16, 2015
This Tekton 5941 Digital Tire Gauge is a good, sleek, handy tool. I keep mine in the center console because it's easy to grab and doesn't take much space. It has a lighted led dial which comes in handy especially in low-light levels. The way it fits my hand is comfortable and it's easy to use. Best to pay attention because there are three (3) scale levels with PSI being one of them. I always make sure I am in this mode whenever I check my tire pressure. I prefer this kind over the shiny chrome looking pencil type because the led lighting is easier for me to read verses trying to read the tiny notches on the other one. It also fits much better in my hand making it easy to grip as compared to the "old-style" just mentioned. Last but not least, the price is fair!!
Excellent!
June 24, 2014
Pro's:i. LED illuminates tyre area and reading.ii. Readings are given in PSI: 0-100, Bar: 0-7, KPA: 0-700, Kgf/cm2: 0-7iii. Readings are displayed for about 10 seconds for reference. The reading re-calibrates as soon as the device is applied to the next tyre, so no lag time between readings.iv. The unit has an auto-off function after a couple of minutes, saving battery life.v. The measurement type, e.g. PSI in my case, stays set even after auto-off, so it doesn't need re-setting when powering up for the next job.vi. Excellent price and battery life.vii. Very accurate readings, as far as my own tests have concluded, and more accurate than a gas station air-line.viii. Very ergonomic, so easy to hold, easy to apply to the tyre, compared with some others I've had.ix. From what I've read here, very responsive and helpful customer service if there is ever a problem.Con's:i. Can not be used as a teleportation device or communicator.
Great gauge, very accurate.
February 5, 2014
I'm one of those that check tire pressure once a week so having a good tire gauge is imperative. For the past year I have used several different digital and mechanical gauges. I had issues with all of them. Few of the mechanical one's did not work well in extreme cold weather, also hard to use with gloves on and too cold to use with bare hands. Few others had issues with sealing the valve so it would not read accurately. Some of the other digital brands did not seal the valve, or the battery would die quickly (like every week), or it was reading inaccurately. I've been researching for the past few weeks on Amazon and this was the only one with great praise so i decided to try it out. As soon as i got it i ran out and compared it to a mechanical one which I have been using with frustration and also a friend of mines gauge (Commercial grade digital gauge) and low and behold this one read accurately to 35 lbs, w/o issues and the mechanical one I had took me about a minute to get a correct seal to get a reading and then it read 3lbs too high, 5 lbs too low, etc. Compared to the commercial grade gauge. This gauge is simple to read, easy to get a seal w/o much pressure to the valve and comfortable to hold glove or not. So clean out your gauge drawer like i did and replace it with this one.
Best I've used so far
March 1, 2012
This is my 3rd digital tire gauge. I like it better than the others, which were the Accutire brand, because:- Non-slip texture makes it easy to hold onto- LED light makes it really easy to use in the dark- Easily forms a seal with the valve stem to get an accurate read on the first try (this was my main gripe with other gauges I've used)- Awesome price!I'm not sure what else one would need from a tire gauge, so this one gets an A+.**UPDATE** As of 6/18/2013, this thing is still working perfectly, even though I've dropped it a dozen times. Also still using the original battery. Others I've used seem to drain the battery, regardless of how often I use it. I'd mention the battery manufacturer, but I'd hate to be accused of working for Duracell--OOPS!**2nd UPDATE** As of 8/7/2014 it still works great, and, no joke, STILL using the original battery.

Works Amazingly
August 9, 2017
This works very well and very easily. I followed the instructions, and added some rubber cement before I shoved the rubber thing in. It held immediately, and within a couple hours I drove my family 200 miles north with no issues or air loss. I would highly recommend this! I did however need to use a metal round file with a slightly smaller diameter than the one provided, my puncture hole was a little too small for the included one in the kit to fit. This baby saved my tire and my trip!
Does what it should - nice kit
August 1, 2017
Things I like: #1, it works. Easy to use. Have patched a tire in a riding mower and on an ATV. Both are 100% successful. #2, it comes with a little plastic case to keep everything in its place and free of dust and what not. No complaints at all. Guess I should have read the other comments to see what others didn't like, but this is my honest opinion. Have a good day!

October 19, 2016
I learned how to plug a tire from my neighbor, he showed me how to do it in just a few minutes so when I saw this on sale on Amazon for almost 1/2 price I bought 3 kits. I used it today,I had a slow leak which was setting off the tpms so I looked and found a screw in my truck tire. I was able to make the repair without removing the tire, garages around here charge $15 for tire plugging and it's a hassle jacking truck ,taking tire off, taking to garage and waiting for them to make the repair, who knew plugging a tire was so easy? There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to do it. I keep one in my truck, and my wife and sons cars now.
Nice set to have in your vehicle
August 24, 2016
Good buy,This is really a great thing to have in your car.I hope I will never have to use it but, in case of emergency I definitely want to have this tire repair close.while you will need some skill to fix your flat tire by yourself, you can do it as it is not a 'nuclear science' LOLI do have to mention that if you have this in your car and you do have to use it in case you have a flat tire.Make sure you have something to inflate your tire as well, there is several portable electrical tire pumps/ Inflators around. I suggest you get one as well. otherwise this product wont do any good. Unless you are at home and fixing your own tire. But for the roadside emergency, better be ready then sorry. you never know where it can happen.Otherwise, I am very pleased with this purchaseIf you found my review helpful, please vote “Yes.”
Money saver
July 6, 2016
Nice kit. Will save you a lot of money over time. Pretty easy to plug a tire if you have this kit.
easy way to plug a tire that's been punctured by a screw
November 5, 2015
The kit seems to be a good value. My one caution is that the material seems very sensitive to temperature - the box was left out in the sun when delivered and the "strings" got really gummy and almost fused together inside the case. It was kind of a bummer at first, but I was able to separate a couple of pieces to use, and they appeared to work properly regardless of what had happened. The whole process of plugging two tires took less than ten minutes, after simply advancing the position of the tires until the offending screw heads were in full view and accessible. It was easier to do with the front tire, since turning the steering wheel gives better accessibility. It took a little bit more "oomph" to press the slug into the rear tire because it was a tad harder to get my weight behind the tee handle for a good "power shove". Overall, it's less of a cost savings thing but worth the convenience of not having to bring your car to the shop to get it done.

Quality Control Issue?
August 13, 2017
I've had this mini air compressor for about a year. I had purchased the same model previously and really thought it was a excellent product. Back to the latest unit. About 6 months ago, the ac plug in the unit developed a short. Therefore, anytime I used the unit I had to physically hold the ac plug just right to inflate a tire. Okay, not fun but effective. However, this past Sunday I attempted to inflate/top off my motorcycle tire as it was about 5 pounds low. Halfway through the process, the compressor started smoking and quit. That was all she wrote for this unit.

In defense of Kensun, my original unit still works without any issues. I can only suggest that Kensun might want to review their quality control process because the 2nd compressor was a dud.

UPDATE!! KENSUN sent me a replacement unit FREE OF CHARGE! I've added 2 stars to my previous rating. Will update later when I've had a chance to use.
Worked for 1 tire
June 27, 2016
Well I thought this unit would at least last longer than the time it took to inflate one tire on my wife's car. After that, the unit began to smoke, made a loud popping sound, and stopped working completely. I'm returning it this week.

UPDATE. After reading my review a representative from Kensun reached out to me and offered to send me a better compressor for my trouble. I can't say enough about their customer service. I used it to inflate a couple of kiddie beach toys and a tow tube and it seemed to work fine. Much better than the first one I was sent.
I don't want to continue using it since the motor sounds like it's going to explode
June 26, 2016
UPDATE: 07/04/2016
Contacted the Kensun Customer Care dept. and explained the issue I was having with the air compressor. They will ship a new replacement unit at no charge. Have not received the unit yet but will update the review stars now to 4 stars (from 2 stars). The unit worked as advertised before it broke after 4 uses. I probably got a defective unit which they will replace. I give the Kensun company 5 stars for their excellent customer service.

Buyer beware!! This Kensun air compressor broke after using it only 4 times. Now the unit shakes and vibrates violently and the dial gauge popped out of its socket. I don't want to continue using it since the motor sounds like it's going to explode. I purchased this in March 2016 and I am not able to return this item to Amazon since the return policy for this has expired. I should have purchased the other air compressor from a different manufacturer that was selling at a higher price.
Tough little monster !
July 4, 2015
This is a very cool device that saves you a lot of hassle. I was always struggling to reset my vehicles' tire pressure at gas stations with those ugly age old pressure monitors attached to the Air stations. Inaccurate readings, inability to reach the spare below SUVs and constant hunt for quarters were some of my issues. I finally researched online and got this compressor. I now use this to top up air in my car tires in the comfort of my home, inflate sport equipments and it works pretty well. I settled for this as against the Slime 40022 because that had a digital gauge and there were some reviews on the readings not being accurate. This one has an analog meter which is pretty accurate (not down to the decimal). This is a 12V compressor which means it wont blow the fuse of smaller cars and SUVs (be careful to check what your car can support before you buy this or the bigger 15V varieties also on amazon). In terms of time, it took me about 10 minutes to inflate a dead spare from 10 psi to about 60 psi. I gave it a break in between just to ensure it does not get overheated. So if all is well, why did I take away a star? Some areas of improvement: 1. the screw on nozzle does cause very little air to leak out as you're screwing it on/off the tire. A clip-on version would be my preference. Sometimes the screw threads also need a little nudge before they agree to come off. 2. The length of the inflate tube on the compressor should be a little longer. I had to set the compressor on a little stool for nozzles that were to the top of wheel when parked. The length of the electrical cable is manageable even though a slightly longer one would have been ideal. 3. The weight of the compressor is too light and it has to be held down while it's doing its thing else it keeps vibrating and wobbling on the floor.
All these are minor issues but overall I am very pleased with the purchase and this works well for what it is supposed to do - INFLATE !
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
January 6, 2015
Bought the item in November but used it for the first time a few days ago. I was probably just into 15 seconds reinflating my medicine ball when the pump thumblock broke at the neck where it's connected to the air hose. The connection is made of plastic and just snapped when I applied a little pressure to keep the thumblock in place. Returning it for a refund.

===============REVIEW UPDATE: 1/12/15 ========================

I am upgrading my earlier One-Star rating to Four-Star for Kensun's EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

A bit of history about this order.. I was actually looking for a unit with AC/DC power option and auto shutoff mechanism. I thought this item had both functionalities but it turned out the unit does not have auto shutoff mechanism. As early as Nov 18 (I received the unit in Nov 16), Kensun already offered to refund because they don't have any model with both functionalities I was looking for. However, I got side-tracked with all the holiday activities and forgot to request a refund until January when the unit broke after I used it for the first time.

I first tried processing a refund with Amazon's online return/replacement system but the system declined the request because the allowable return date has expired. Nevertheless, Kensun offered to replace the broken unit with a new one without me having to return the original back. In addition, Kensun offered a different model with digital gauge with auto shutoff function and worklight, ALL FOR FREE! With all that, Kensun still offers FULL REFUND if I am not satisfied!

Both the replacement unit and the new model arrived a couple of days ago. NOW THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I have tested both units. Both units are working but the one with digital gauge auto shutoff function is much more powerful. It was able to pump in 5 PSI (from 27 to 32 PSI) in about 50 seconds with the body still cool to touch. The replacement model (without digital gauge shut off function) took 3 minutes to pump in 5 PSI with the body starting to get warm. I noticed with the digital gauge shutoff function that it has to be set at 2 PSI above the target PSI to attain the desired pressure. For instance, to get to my target 32 PSI, I found I have to set the digital gauge at 34 PSI. Once the digital gauge reads 34 PSI, it continues pumping for a few more seconds before it totally shuts off. Both units are not "quite operation" by any stretch of imagination but I can live with that.

I am keeping the replacement Kensun AC/DC Tire Inflator for home use since it has AC power option. On the road, I am bringing the model with Digital Gauge Auto Shutoff function since it's more powerful plus it comes with built-in worklight.

I don't know how both units will perform if tested with more prolonged use but for now I am a very satisfied customer.

For reference, I've tested the units with size 215/70R16 tires on my RAV 4.

Ok piece, but accuracy is up to you to decide
August 10, 2017
I have this one and the same gauge with the 12" hose. The 12" hose requires use of two hands, this one doesn't. At 75, kneeling down to test tire pressure is a genuine pain one wants to get over with soon. The short doodad on this one fits the old "mags" on by 73 MGB nicely and I can get a reading with only one hand...while the other hand keeps me from falling over.<G>BUT I find an almost 10% difference in the reading between this gauge and the one with the hose. Consistently.. At a wanted 30 psi, I get 30 or 33, depending on the gauge. Don;t recall which, but I think the hose one is the higher value.I'm giving this a 4 because It is pretty easy to use, deducting 1 because I have no idea what the real pressure really is.But several other gauges I have are even wilder in their guesses...28-35. On the same tires right after filling. So...?Nobody I asked had ever heard of a calibrated air pressure for testing gauges. I won't go near a new car service department because I wouldn't trust them with a broken brick!I'm going to post this same thing (at 3 stars) for the one with the hose.
easy & accurate - but bleeding excess air a bit clumsy
June 16, 2017
It is easy and accurate. At first, I couldn't figure out how to bleed excess air from the tire but a company support rep answered that - just use normally but hold the pressure release.[edit] I dropped it to 4 stars because the method of bleeding excess air is kind of clumsy. For me it was a 2-handed process because of the positioning of the pressure release. Maybe it's my slightly arthritic fingers. If you are fiddling with a tire at night, you might run out of hands, what with holding a flashlight. So a nub, like on other tire gauges, would be better.
I do like the tire pressure gauge and I recommend it too

I do like the tire pressure gauge and I recommend it too. It captures the tire pressure and holds it so you can take the pressure and remove the gauge from the wheel to review the pressure reading. Once you are done with the reading you can clear the valve with a small button... Hopefully the needle in the gauge never looses it's precision when the chamber is abruptly evacuated... perhaps a slow bleed system would maintain a more precise measurement over the log term. Also, the face of the meter is a little large and may be difficult to fit in the wheel on some bikes or would help with weight conscious adventure touring folks!Ultimately, the two qualms stated above are ergonomics and can be minor design changes - the functionality and quality of this gauge are top notch but gauge could use some refinement.
Well Made - Easy to Read Dial - Update
June 4, 2016
Great product - I tried the digital gauges and struggled to read the display. This is good design with senior citizens in mind.Update September 14, 2016 - after a few months the gauge dial did not return to the zero pressure position, went to vendors web site a submitted a question/concern. They responded and promptly resolved thee problem.
TireTek: "Old School" works for me
August 14, 2015
I had ordered both the TireTek Pressure Gauge and the Michelin digital tire gauge, and decided to keep the TireTek. I liked the construction of it which I thoughtwould stand up better to the inevitable drop onto the garage floor, the swivel headwhich helps with fitting it on my motorcycle as well as cars, and the factthat there are no batteries to replace. I had actually bought the Michelingauge previously through another online source since it was given their "BEST"rating. However, after using it four times in three days, it stopped workingand I wasn't interested in buying 2 lithium batteries right off the bat tokeep it going. I didn't even open the new digital gauge package aftertrying out the TireTek first. I said, "I could live with this." Thanks also to TireTek fortaking the time to contact your customers and get their feedback. I hopeI'll have many years of good experiences with it.
... in a timely matter and was impressed with it's easy to read dial and well made construction
July 16, 2015
Received the gauge in a timely matter and was impressed with it's easy to read dial and well made construction. The rubber cover is a plus that offers protection against accidental drops. I also have a digital gauge and compared the two readings. The TireTek gauge was lower by .5 to one PSI compared to the digital. Based on the construction of both gauges I feel the TireTek gauge to be more accurate and will use that one exclusively. The only minor con to the gauge is if you overfill the pressure and need to reduce, pressing the bleeder button releases the air rather slowly. However, that can be a good thing since if too much air is released quickly you may find yourself having to use a compressor and add more.I was impressed with Frank Jackson, the owner of the company. He sent an email inquiring if I was satisfied with the gauge and if not to contact him. What company does that, very few for sure. I like the product and highly recommend it to those in search of a quality tire gauge.

Easy and accurate, no air release tip
September 20, 2017
Great little gauge, I tested it against my mechanical gauges: one with a dial, and two with the stick that gets forced out the end. This Tekton digital was easily the most consistent and accurate. I even tried holding it at different angles and as long as you get some air out, the gauge was displaying the correct psi. It measures in 4 different units, but psi is all I'm interested in. I only gave it 4 stars because of the minor cons noted below. I would still highly recommend this gauge.pros:Very accurate and it reads to the 1/2 pound in psi modeEasy to use, can't screw it up by holding it wrongLight on display and light on the nozzle, can see it even in the dark corner of your garageshuts off on it's own, no need to worry about conserving battery powercon:No air release tip (one of the sellers said you could hold the gauge on at an angle as if you were taking a reading and this would allow air out. I could not get this to work very well except for tiny little blips of air. It shouldn't be an issue for them to just put a plastic tip on one end.) This is a must-have for a tire pressure gauge which is why I could only give it 4 stars.
Great gauge - Suggest reviewing closely if for a motorcycle.
December 24, 2016
I bought this for my motorcycle, FJR1300, with stock 3 spoke wheels. This gauge is too large for easy rear tire access and with additional restricted access of two rotors on the front wheel, just not something I'll use. It's a great gauge otherwise and I put it in my car.I noticed a few reviews noting it was great for motorcycles. Maybe some motorcycles, but if you already have a tight opening, I'd suggest a smaller and/or thinner gauge.
Love the Digital Readout and low pressure readings.
June 25, 2016
This works really well, I was sick of trying to read the small numbers on the traditional stick type pressure gauge, so it is nice to have a digital readout. I also like how I can use it for low pressure and higher pressure tires (ie, my quad tires have 3-5 lbs vs truck tires at 35lbs.) My only complaint is when I go from one tire to the next quickly, I'm not sure if I am looking at the old reading or the new reading. I wish there was a quick reset button but all the button does is switch between functions. So I usually switch to off between each tire read or have to wait for it to disappear. Maybe its operator error on my part.
100 psi works well and does light up nicely to see the reading
June 9, 2016
This TEKTON 5941 Digital Tire Gauge, 100 psi works well and does light up nicely to see the reading. The size of the display is small but readable. It appears to be slightly off in the accuracy of reading the psi; but not enough that would affect a normal passenger or truck tire pressure. For the price, it is a nice gauge to have stored in a car especially if you are attempting to check the pressure when it's dark. I would purchase the TEKTON 5941 Tire Gauge again, but I would still also have a larger dial gauge in my garage as my main tool of choice.
Works as advertised.
May 11, 2016
This tire gauge works, like many others. The gauge is mostly plastic with a matt feel. It doesn't feel like it's very high quality, but not like it's going to fall apart in my hand. The positioning of the activation button is okay, like a trigger, but can be slightly awkward if I'm twisting my hand to fit the gauge up against the air tube. The LCD is bright and has enough contrast to display during full sunlight.I would give it five stars if the material didn't feel so cheap. You get what you pay for, once in a while.
Year later and still didn't die...
February 21, 2015
Year ago I've purchased this, so I will have one nearby in my vehicle. Well, it didn't get to the vehicle right away, so it got stuck somewhere. Today I dug it, after my dealership decided to put 39psi into my tires and was telling me, that TPMS sensors lie. So I've checked this one. Well, first time I pushed the button it started blinking. Blinking and nothing else. Let it stand for awhile, and pressed button again. It started to work as expected. Reading of pressure was same as TPMS sensors. So either they both lie exactly same (hardly), or both of them show correct information. In any case, year later and I still can use it. Will give it four starts, because of unexplained blinking without any explanation on the box what that's mean.

In the case of my leak, the hole was a lot smaller than the tool/sticky gum used to plug the hole. This took some trial and error. The first plug didn't work. I had a completely flat tire the next morning. During the 2nd attempt - the hole was widened to fit the tool and the plug has worked great! It's been at least a month since the tire was plugged and it's still going strong. Happy with this purchase :)

Good kit but needs more glue
December 8, 2013
I've had this before and it does the job, but small tube of glue doesn't go very far. Bought a small can of glue to go with this one and keep the kit and tube of glue in my vehicle for emergencies.
Very much worth it!
February 15, 2008
This product has everything one could want to repair a hole in a tire. I bought this for my husband and he was very pleased with the quality and quantity of the items. It has plugs of varying sizes and the little tools that inserts them. He tried one and it worked perfectly. I would recommend this to anyone in the market for one. I am particularly pleased with the fact that it will last any ordinary user years and years!

This to me is just incredibly painful. Other than that
November 16, 2016
I bought this product to store in the trunk for times when I need to fill up my car tires. I've had two other compressors in the past that have worked quite well albeit being very inexpensive. While this product itself is a fair price and includes a lot of additional accessories to complement the package, there are just a few things that are issues for me.Firstly, the compressor is incredibly loud. Your neighbors will definitely hear this and wonder what you're doing. This wouldn't be that big of a deal if it didn't take forever to fill up the tire. Over the past 3 months of owning the product, it has taken me nearly 30-45 minutes to fill up 4 tires with about 10 PSI each after multiple uses. This to me is just incredibly painful. Other than that, never had any problems with any of the cords and the air pressure gauge has always been accurate.Unfortunately, my time is precious to me so I will continue my search for a faster compressor. 3 stars for being functional.
It Works But Slowly and is Very Loud
September 23, 2016
The product works, but it is very slow. Adding just 2 pounds of air to a tire takes quite a lot of time. The unit is super loud too and not in a good way. Ear plugs are actually highly recommended if you are going to be near this thing when it is on. I have not used the cigarette lighter power option, only the standard power cord. The air pressure gauge is not very accurate, you will need to check with a separate gauge. The connector itself is fine, never had any problems with it not engaging or coming off while the unit was on. It does indeed get the job done, but it doesn't give off a high quality impression in any way.I struggled with whether to give this a 2 star rating or a 3 star rating (I would probably give it 2 1/2 stars if that was an option). I amended my review to give it 3 starts since it does work in terms of getting air into the tires, but the downsides are how long it takes and the very loud and annoying noise it makes while doing so.I just don't know how this unit would compare to other models of similar design and cost.
Good customer service
May 25, 2016
I used this product to fill a lawn tractor tire. It took quite a while to fill the tire, but it did eventually complete that job. Four days later I tried to use it on a car tire that was low. The unit would not work at all. Apparently the fuse is blown. If so, I don't know what kind of fuse I need to replace it. I guess I'll take it to an auto parts store and see if they can determine what kind of fuse to buy. No instructions or manual came with the unit. If you want to spend $40 for a one time use, then this is the product for you.UPDATE: I contacted the manufacturer to report the unit failure. They immediately offered to send me a new one. Was told there is a two-year warranty. I would give their customer service 5 stars.

March 12, 2016
Update Mar 15/2016 - Still giving 1 star for product, but 5 stars for customer service. I was contacted the day after my review and was told to pick a new air compressor (any model, not just the one I ordered) and the would send it out - no charge for the compressor and no charge for shipping.

I bought this January 2015 and used it 6 or 7 times in 2015.

The last time I used it (October 2015), it was to pump up a couple low tires on my vehicle. It overheated on the first tire, but after 30 minutes it was ready to go again. It overheated on the second tire, but by the that time the tire had reached pressure it needed to be. I pulled it today to pump up a couple bike tires, but it still doesn't work.

Very unimpressed with this pump. I recommend looking at a pump made by another manufacturer than Kensun.
It didn't work right out of the box...UPDATED 1/7/16
January 2, 2016
Shortly after receiving the Kensun YS-205 air compressor, my husband and I needed to use it to fill a tire on a dolly and a wheelbarrow. When we plugged it in and turned it on, nothing happened. We thought maybe it was the power outlet so we tried a different outlet...still nothing happened when we turned it on. After questioning the electricity in our house, we tried using the plug provided for the car. The YS-205 worked when plugged into the car, but we could tell it wasn't working well. It was taking much too long to fill a small tire. Two other points - I thought it was interesting that we received an email from the seller about the product checking on our satisfaction with the product and to contact customer service with any issues. It was almost as if they knew the product was defective. Second point, their customer service was good. They refunded me right away and did not ask us to mail back the air compressor. It went in the trash. I wouldn't recommend purchasing this product. I was surprised and disappointed after reading so many positive reviews about the product.UPDATE: 1/7/16 I received exemplary customer service from Kensun. Joe, a department manager made it a point to connect with me regarding the faulty product. He tried to connect with me via phone and also via email. Here's what he had to say:I am terribly sorry that you had trouble with our product. Please accept our sincerest apologies. We consider product reviews as opportunities to improve our product and service. I would like to help you resolve the issue you are facing. I have taken the liberty in sending you something without confirming it with you first, (I did try and call a few times) I hope you don't mind. I have sent an upgraded model. Obviously this is completely free of charge. I have included a special adaptor which will allow you to plug it in from a home outlet too. I would also like to touch upon a small point mentioned in your review. You mentioned you received an email from us asking about your satisfaction, and you understood from that, it's almost as if we knew it was defective. I would like to point out, every customer receives that email no matter what they order from us. We try to go the extra mile for our customers and usually it is appreciated. I hope that clears it up. We at Kensun stay with our customers and want them to be happy with us and the products. The customer service received from Kensun is exemplary. Joe went the extra mile to ensure I was happy. Very few companies do this, usually it's the consumers fault or problem. Anyway, I while I haven't tried the new compressor yet, I'm sure if I have any trouble with it, Kensun will make it right!

Seems to work well once stem assembled in correct order
October 29, 2017
It would be 5 stars but arrived disassembled in the box. 4 loose small parts with no instructions included. Took about an hour of fiddling with the gauge and finally had to look up a video on the internet to discover the order in which to put the stem assembly back together. The video was on the seller's web site (I had to track it down myself) and described how to take that part of the gauge apart for cleaning if it gets dirty. Once assembled correctly the gauge worked as described..

Great people. Second gauge arrived
June 21, 2017
First gauge arrived, and was 3lbs off. I tested it against two additional gauges. Called the manufacturer and received a replacement with no hassle. Great people. Second gauge arrived, and is two pounds off. Disappointed in the accuracy. Love the form factor and the responsiveness of the company. Well designed.

June 7, 2017
Not super-confident it's reading correctly since my tires are reading the correct pressure on the gauge, but my TPMS is telling me the pressure is off on at least one of my tires. Getting new tires this week so will have a definitive answer soon. If you put a gun to my head I'd guess something was wrong with either the tire nozzle or the TPMS before the TireTek gauge. However, not having confidence in your tires is not a good feeling, and the doubt about the gauge is still there, thus my rating.
No protective case?
March 21, 2017
Didn't come with protective case. What's the deal?Bought the protective case + tire pressure gauge + tire tread gauge and no protective case. Just a plastic bag. 3 stars...Also, would prefer one with a hose. This one can be a bit of a nag to get the right angle. Fortunately, it does keep the highest pressure reading after you've got it off the tire. (And until you press the button)

January 18, 2016
I chose this product because I don't trust digital gauges and the old-school pen gauges vary wildly in accuracyWith the exception of a rather flimsy plastic window, the build quality is solid. I can personally atest to the rubber cover's ability to protect the device after I dropped it immediately after opening the box. The valve stem can be removed and replaced with a longer stem if you need to. I can't confirm the ANSI B40.1 Grade B accuracy rating so I'll just have to take their word for it.My one gripe would be with the pressure relief button. The button can be wiggled around because it isn't secured very well to one axis. This wiggle room is enough to release the pressure by accident. It isn't a huge deal to just check the pressure again, but I imagine it could be frustrating especially with thick gloves on. I would like to see a button that requires a more deliberate press for release.

Great Features - Comes close to Accurate
June 25, 2017
I really like this digital tire gauge for its features especially the light. The reason for 3 stars is that the PSI is off 5-7 lbs. I checked it against 2 other devices: an older tire pressure device (not digital) I've had for years and at a tire shop (digital). For the price it's ok- useful just to check an estimate the PSI in your tires.
Could be better
May 3, 2017
OK, but could be much better. The good. Easy to read lighted guage. I tested it against my other gauges and all the readings were similar. The bad. NO bleed valve and not even a device on the unit to manually bleed the valve core stem. Put together with two screws that screw into plastic, not a brass bushing. Thus will not last a long time. Has four batteries, none of which most homeowners would have on hand and would likely cost more than the original tool.I would opt for a different gauge if I were to order a new one.
looks like it's used before and no instruction included
April 10, 2017
Received the product in a box, looks like it's used before and no instruction included. Checked online and it's all polyester packaging so don't know why mine is a box. Since I didn't get instruction, just didn't know if I used it correctly. The 4 settings seem to be very easy so it's still pretty user friendly and the number came out fast.
Beautiful tire gauge, minor issues.
October 4, 2016
I ordered this because i am a car geek and i really love tires, of course that involves having the right pressure on my cars. The product is fine, i use it in PSI but the issue i see in this is that PSI are measured in 0.5 ranges, i know that this should not be a dead o alive matter, but you should know it.The tip that goes into the valve is plastic, it really feels very cheap, so what i do is handle it with care to avoid possible damage, for the price is a nice gadget.
Solid performer, but some little tweaks are needed.
December 15, 2014
UPDATE: Well, Amazon says I bought this product a little over 3 years ago. Worked great all that time until recently when the display (and the lighted ring around the valve stem port) started a constant flashing when turned on. I turned it on and off only to have the flashing happen again. I left it for a little while and then saw that it reset itself and I could use it. However, a couple of days ago, it again went into flashing mode when turned on. This time, I couldn't turn it off. Would just come back flashing. I decided to leave it to see if it was going to reset. That was 2 days ago. Still flashing. I wondered if this meant the batteries are going out, but after two days, I thought it would die if that was the case. Opened her up and saw that it had one 2032 watch battery in there, and three LR44 "button" batteries. I didn't have any LR44's lying around, but I did have a 2032. Replaced it, and there was no difference. Still flashing. Took out an LR44 and put it back in. No fix. So now, it's either replace all the batteries to see if that would do it, or buy a new guage. I'm opting for the latter since a search of amazon shows I'll be paying about the same for new batteries as I will for a new guage. I think I'll go with the Accutire this time. I knocked down one star because of this, and because as stated in my original review, I think the reset time between pressure readings is too long.Original review as follows:-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Been using this for several months now and it's a good gauge. However a couple of improvements are needed:First, there's too long of a delay before the reading zeros out. I've counted 10 seconds. It should be reprogrammed to be only 5. By the time I take a reading, and let air out of the tire if need be, I'm still waiting several seconds for the screen to reset to take my next reading (I know some of you might think, "What? You can't wait a few extra seconds?" Well, when you're in the swing of things and want to get the job done, the reset delay does slow down your pace. You'll know what I mean when you actually try it.). I've discovered a manual way to reset by pushing the trigger down to turn the device off, and then push it again right away to turn it back on. That's quicker than waiting for it to reset on its own, but a little inconvenient. Don't want to prematurely wear out the trigger by doing so either.Secondly, Tekton needs to put a little nipple on the bottom of the handle so you can just flip the gauge around and use it to depress the valve to let air out. Can't understand that design oversight. These two improvements would make this a 5-star device.
Gets the job done.....
October 28, 2013
This tire gauge gets the job done and seems to be pretty accurate, but it has a few annoying quirks to it that make using it kind of frustrating. The first quirk is that to use it you have to hit the trigger button, but if you accidently hit it again then you have to keep scrolling through different measurement types just to get back to the PSI setting. I found myself hitting the button as a reflex every time I wanted to use it again so I was constantly scrolling through the other useless measurement types. The second annoying thing is that it takes like 15 seconds to zero out after using. Here was a typical scenario for me:Tire has to much are in it:Check air pressure, its high....Let some air out..... gauge still waiting to zero out...... still waiting.... zeroed. Check tire pressure, still high.... let some more air out, wait....... still waiting.... zeroed. Check pressure. Accidently hit trigger button....scroll through measurements to get back to PSI.....still waiting to zero.....Repeat this for 4 tires....Bottom line is it will get the job done, but it was pretty frustrating to use.

Works OK, but instructions are missing steps and there's no blade to cut the plug once installed.
April 15, 2016
I had to use it today on my Chevy Volt, which has no spare tire. Fortunately, I had used this kind of kit before. The instructions are incomplete. They don't explain the step you need to take with the reamer or how to use the rubber cement. It just shows the plug being jammed into the hole. Be sure to ream the hole first, then put rubber cement on the insertion tool and run it in and out of the hole several times before inserting the plug. Also, you need to cut of the ends of the plug which aren't inserted. That's hard to do since there's no blade in the kit. You'll want to add a razor blade or box cutter blade to the kit before putting it in your car. The plugs can't be inserted into the installation tool without expanding the end of the tool with a screwdriver blade--another thing you might want to include with your kit.On mine, it took a lot of effort to get the plugs off of the backing paper. I've got a lot of finger strength. I think some folks would have trouble with getting the plugs off.

One and done?.??!
September 5, 2016
OK.... first use was fine (VERY noisy, but fine). I spent approximately 4 minutes inflating two bike tires... great. Now on to test #2, inflating a child's swimming pool... NOT fine. After 15 minutes of use (and barely any sign that there was air in the pool), the compressor shut off and now it will not start again. I removed the fuse and visited two hardware stores, only to find they do not stock that size. Next stop will be Home Depot, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. I just e-mailed Kensun for information, because I still don't know if I simply blew the glass fuse OR blew out the entire motor. Updates to follow.UPDATE: 9/7/16: Received 2 e-mails and a phone call from Kensun offering a free replacement to a better model air compressor. As this is similar to the messages others on here have received, I pondered it for a while, but opted to just return the unit instead. I don't want to go through the hassle of shipping back and forth.
Not even worth the sale price.
July 30, 2016
I noticed today, when looking for something to replace this item with, that it's now dramatically reduced from the price I paid. I'm not surprised; it was a total waste of money. I bought it to add air to my tires at home when the TPM warnings light up. A few psi will do it so I mistakenly thought, based in part on previous reviews, that this machine would do the job. The first time I used it, it did; sort of. It smoked like crazy, but it pumped air. I had an e-mail conversation with the manufacturer and they suggested it could be dust burning off on first use - hmm?? I kept it and used it for the second time today. Part-way through the job of topping up the tires to satisfy the TP monitor, it started smoking then shut down completely. Left it sit to cool off but it's dead.Addendum, 24 hours later: The Kensun customer relations folks are certainly on the ball. I've received an e-mail and a voice message offering me a different (more expensive??) model at no cost. Often, how a company responds to complaints can offset a poor experience. I'm impressed by their efforts and have added an extra star to the rating in recognition. DS
I Had Hoped For More
January 26, 2016
When my cheap, plastic Campbell Hausfeld unit from Walmart died, I thought it was time to get a better piece of equipment and selected this after looking at reviews. The unit works, but it is both louder and slower than what I had before. I had hoped for much more. The unit does not have automatic shutoff. The range on the pressure gauge is too high (up to 260 psi). This makes it very hard to see the difference between 25 and 30 psi. If the gauge only went to 100 psi, it would be much easier to read ... especially considering that the indicator needle vibrates over about a 10 psi range (which the gauge on my old cheap compressor did not do). I believe that these are made in China, and when I first opened the box there was a very strong solvent smell. The company has been sending me emails that say if there is any problem, they want to make it right. I appreciate their effort. My unit works, it's just not that good for what it costs.
NOT IMPRESSED!
January 18, 2016
Very disappointed. Purchased it to keep car tires properly inflated; for a car tire, this is NOT the best choice. First problem, the inflation rate is far too slow for any automotive tire. At first I thought the unit was not working; it made such a loud rattling noise while running and the featured psi gauge wasn't rising. Eventually I concluded it simply took a very long while to increase tire pressure, far longer than what I was accustomed to using other units. After increasing pressure by 5psi in all four car tires, I could see slight smoke coming from the unit. Second problem, the featured pressure gauge is not scaled well to read pressure from 0-40psi; the markings are too close together. Beyond 40psi, the scale is enlarged for better viewing making this gauge useful for reading higher psi, such as for a bicycle tire, but not for reading the psi range of a car tire. In summary, consider this unit if you only need to inflate bicycle tires or perhaps other small items. The fact that it plugs into household current is nice and I like the way it clips to the valve stem on the tire. But purchase something else to inflate car tires.
Stand by their Product
January 17, 2016
These people stand behind their product. Well made durable compressor. Not super fast but can inflate large tires if you have the patience. 12v or 110v is a very nice option. No auto stop. But, I had a hose come off. Instead of asking me to send it in or try to fix it, they just sent me a new one free, no postage, no questions asked!!!!Now, I have to revise my rating. The same thing happened with the replacement compressor as with the first one. The inflator hose came off in side the unit. I tried taking it apart to fix it but not made to be repaired. Also it overheated and stopped working more and more often. But without the inflation hose, it's useless.Good design..poor quality
Loud, slow, but works.
December 30, 2015
Bought this to keep it in the trunk for emergencies and because most gas stations are a pain to actually use their air pumps, that is if they're actually working.Docked a star because yes, it is loud. I read some guy said its not. Maybe he's hard of hearing. Do not use this at night or in enclosed spaces. Also its slow using DC power. They recommend having the car running but even then its pretty damn slow. I'd say its about 1-2PSI per minute. It took me about 5 minutes to get from 20-25psi on a Corolla with OEM tires. But, having the convenience of not having to deal with gas stations earns 4 stars from me.*EDIT*After a few months of living with this, I cant recommend this product anymore. The fill-up times are absurdly slow, I had a nearly flat tire and had to pump at it for 30 minutes to even get it near drivable conditions. I left it at 2-stars because if you were completely lost in the middle of nowhere, sure you could probably get your tire filled up eventually but it'll take so long you could've probably walked over to the nearest town and back.

Other atributes are fine as far as comfort
May 4, 2017
Accuracy was just too far off. Other atributes are fine as far as comfort, ease of use and durability. But if it's not accurate what's the point.2 psi lower than my cars TPMS and another gauge I just purchased.

It's just OK.
I need help
December 20, 2016
I did like it initially, but that has not lasted, as the gauge held the first several readings for one car, but no longter holds any readings. I finished with one car where it worked as described, but it worked not at all on the second car. While I purchased it in July, I have not used it until today. Since the first time out of the box was today, dust on an O-ring seems implausible, but I am willing to be berated for doing something wrong, Just tell me what I've done wrong. I want it work properly.

June 10, 2016
This gauge is very accurate and well constructed, but the process of getting a good seal on the tire valve to get a pressure reading will frustrate you. You spend too much time adjusting the angle to get a pressure reading, and meanwhile you are releasing pressure trying to properly seat the gauge--so much so that I went back to using my old gauge. Recommend going with the "Joes Racing" gauge. You get a perfect seat on the valve first time every time, and its made in USA.

February 18, 2016
I bought 2 tire gauges, including this one. Unfortunately, this Tire Tek was almost 3 pounds off (lower) than the other gauge I bought. The other gauge was much easier to use and was verified accurate. Also, the head on this Tire Tec does not pivot at all, so it it is not as convenient to get it oriented and depressed to get a good reading. In addition, the air release button is a cheap spring-loaded button that was just not smooth operating. It will be returned. Look elsewhere.
High quality moderately priced air pressure gauges.>>> 1/5/2016: Make that a 'lower' quality gauge.
November 2, 2015
This is the second pressure holding air gauge I have ordered from OdyseaCo and both read within one half lb. of a liquid damped reference unit I use to determine accuracy. Both seem to be quite high quality units, time will tell. For now I am quite happy with both.Addendum 5 Jan 2016...this gauge, after about 10 uses no longer will keep the air pressure to read after its removal from valve stem, hence the downward adjustment to two stars

Not for me
December 2, 2016
Ehhh.. Display is real small and hard to see. I don't know if there is a way to change it but the default display is metric kilogram per something. Takes a couple button pushes to get it to PSI and the units area of the display is TINY. To much trouble for me. I'll never use it and I'm going back to the pop out stick gauge. There are better choices.
Not the best.....
November 19, 2016
I have this one and an Accutire, I feel the Accutire is superior, I always have problems getting this one "seated" on the valve perfectly and end up releasing a few pounds just to get a reading! Also, you have to turn it on first, the Accutire you just push it on the valve and it actuates automatically. The light is nice but not enough to make up for it's shortcomings......
Do not buy Tekton 5941
November 5, 2015
Gauge came and appeared to work. Problem is that you can't trust the numbers that come up. I used it to check tires on my travel trailer. The trailer had not moved in days so the tires were cold. It was difficult to get a good connection between the gauge and the valve stem. When the gauge does not connect properly you end up loosing air which changes the reading. I compared it to a non-digital gauge and the Tekton was all over the place. I them compared the results with a compressor and again the Tekton was right 1 out of 10. The non-digital gauge was right every time. If I had nothing else to use I would make do, but I do not recommend this item. Not reliable.
Worked well until the screen died.
July 18, 2015
I bought two and gave one away as a gift. Both of us love this little tool and it has been incredibly useful many times to us. If you buy, remember to just squeeze the trigger once. This turns it on and lights everything up. Any more then one squeeze will cycle through the different pressure units. I personally have no trouble with that but other reviewers have. Come christmas I am buying more for the whole family.Update: As of 8/31/15 the digital screen has started to flicker/doesnt work at all which makes it almost useless. I can't not read the screen as it is now. Gauge worked very well until this started. 4 months of once a week use should have made this last much longer then it has. Won't be buying more.
Very unaccurate-cannot recommend.
January 16, 2015
I bought this tire gauge with the hopes of being able to place it in my wife's auto and have her use it. However, the accuracy is so poor I wouldn't recommend it. I understand there's going to be differences between gauges of different types, brands, cost, etc., but in a comparison of six different gauges (some mine, others belonging to family and friends), this gauges repeatedly was the "flyer" in terms of accuracy. Example: on one tire measured at the same time, the other gauges offered values of 32, 34, 31, 32, and 35 psi. This gauge indicated the tire had 49 psi. Imagine what I would be doing to the tire if I lowered the pressure so that I obtained the recommended range of 30-35 psi; what would the actual air pressure be? My rating is not offered from one or two comparisons. I've made honest comparisons on different vehicles, different temperatures, etc. in the effort to find some measure of accuracy. I could not. On the positive side, I like the design, illumination, and feel of the gauge. I just wish it was accurate!
Worked for about 8 months
October 23, 2014
Bought it in January '14 because of all the good reviews (and the price was certainly right). Seemed to work perfectly for the first several months, but then I wasn't exactly using it daily or anything. Then in late August when I went to use it, I opened my drawer and saw the blue light was already on (half normal "on" brightness, though), and it wouldn't shut off (it's ordinarily turned off by auto-shutoff not by an "off" switch). Just tapping the red casing with my fingertip lightly made it reset (every black LCD piece fills in, like seeing all 8's on a calculator) & it would then kind of work, then tapping it again put it into (what appears to be) a sort of "loose wire" mode where you see no LCD characters on the screen.Replaced the battery and still no change in function. It'll work, kind of, but tapping it sideways (on the red part, not on the button) makes it not work (and the light never goes off). So using it now is a series of tapping it, then when done, tapping it again so it "works" and then GENTLY placing it on a shelf so nothing "taps" it again to send it into broken-mode again where the light never goes off.I wasn't rough with it or anything; it's a tire gauge so it (naturally) gets handled but not tossed around. Maybe if one was SUPER gentle with it, like it was a piece of crystal, then it would work indefinitely. Disappointing, since I liked it while it worked for about 6 months.

Could not get it to work
June 29, 2011
Quick delivery and a nice set of material. I could not, however, get the tire patching material to work. I removed a good size screw from my tire, used the provided reamer and then tried to insert the plug. I am strong enough to do most heavy labor but I could not push the plug through into the hole. It, and the provided hook was just too wide. So, I lost an hour and just took it to a tire shop. In the past, I have done this successfully with other kits where the tool is more like a needle and the plug is thinner, but just could not manage with this one.

Poor quality
February 20, 2017
I purchased one of these in June 2015, and have had two problems with the compressor.1) Upon first receiving the unit I found the cord for wall plug-in would not stay securely attached to the compressor when in use. It was simply too loose, and would shake out when the compressor was turned on. I called customer service who sent me another cord, same problem. I thought it too much trouble to send the compressor back (yes, I'm sure I could have, and maybe another unit would have been better), and have been working around this issue by laying the compressor on its side whenever I use it.2) Second issue, and a lot more problematic, is that after 1.5 years of use the air hose has sprung a leak where it connects with the valve clamp. So, it is essentially now useless. Good thing I discovered this at home, rather than on the road somewhere under less ideal conditions, which was the primary reason for buying this compressor.Net net, have experienced poor quality with the unit I received and I'd be reluctant to have one of these in my trunk and trust it to work when you need it to.
Not for car tires.
October 11, 2016
PROS:1. 110v & 12v plugs2. Nylon Storage bag.CONS:1. LOUD!2. Could not get past 30PSI.3. Smells like it was transported in the tank of a gasoline truck.I plugged the unit into my garage 110v outlet, then I clamped the end onto my car tire valve stem and powered the unit on using the side mounted 110v switch. The gauge read 30psi, which matched my cars monitoring sensor, so I though there might be some hope for this thing. After 2 minutes, the gauge dropped to 25psi. I turned the unit off but could not hear or feel any leaks as i ran my hand along the hose and connector. I turned it back on and left it running for 5 minutes, but there was no change.I'm not sure if I want to keep it around for bicycles & balloons or throw it away.
Complete waste of time and money.

Kensun YS-205 pump review: If I could give this 1/2 or no stars, I would. Do NOT make the same mistake I did. After years of topping off my car tires with a bicycle pump, I decided my back and my time both needed saving. I was excited to find this pump on Amazon: sounded great, overall seemingly good scores -- and I was thrilled when it arrived quickly via Prime. That's where it ended.Excitedly, I went out to inflate my car tires in both cars. I thought something was just WRONG with it. I even pored over the instructions, etc. to make sure I didn't have to unlock something, or hit a different button, remove an air covering or something. But after going back now and digging through other reviews on this product specifically, I sadly realize that this is just the pump.1. WORST & FIRST, this hardly fills air, or fills so slowly that it will not save any time. I couldn't believe how long it took for the pressure gauge to climb just a few PSI. And I was using the regular wall outlet in my garage (tried another one too, just to troubleshoot).2. Potentially even worse (but I'm not going to wait around to witness this happen) the motor just can't handle the work, and I see a very short future. After running for 5 or 10 minutes on my first tire -- and it still not moving much toward my goal of 40 PSI -- it began really smelling and getting hot. After a little more usage on the second tire (see point 4), I actually saw smoke starting to come out. SMOKE!3. Additionally, for all the "not working," this pump is incredibly LOUD (which I suppose I could live with if it actually worked).4. After laboriously getting one tire almost satisfactory enough, I moved to a second tire. After 10-15 mins of running on that second tire (turning it off a couple of times to read the exact PSI, and to give "the little engine that couldn't" a small rest)... I got out my bicycle pump and topped off the other two tires by hand in just a few minutes. Then I unplugged the Kensun from this second tire and finished it by hand in a jiffy.5. Oh yeah, and you can hardly read the PSI gauge while it's running because the pump vibrates SO much, so you have to keep stopping it when you want to read where your at in PSI.... which unfortunately is usually the same place you were before! :(I am SO disappointed in this pump, and in this experience. I'm returning it today, immediately. Do not make the same mistake I did.Meanwhile, looking back at the Amazon page for this pump, it is ridiculous that is says this pump is reduced from $299.99 to just $39.99 (an 87% savings!!). Seriously?? It is not worth $9.99.
Good design, poor quality!
September 19, 2015
The issue with this product is quality. My first unit I received was DOA because it would not work from the car power source at all. I replaced the unit and used it several times to fill my car tires and bike tires. When working properly the unit is great. I liked the functionality of being able to use multiple power sources so I could keep it in my vehicle. It is not very loud and can inflate a car tire in a decent amount of time for a small unit. I was disappointed that within six weeks and only three or four uses the unit completely stopped working from the wall power source. This was after a frustrating time filling when it would short in and out. I was also disappointed to find that Kensun is selling this product for $5 more on Amazon than on their own site. Though I would gladly purchase through Amazon since they have excellent service and support.

I don't get the postitive reviews...
July 6, 2015
I am shocked by the reviews on this product. If we had only ordered 1 unit, I wouldn't leave such a negative review. However, we've ordered it twice thinking that we just got a bad one the first time. It takes FOREVER to fill up anything. My daughter got a Wubble Bubble and it would take 1-2 HOURS to fill it up. We usually fill it up for her half way. To fill up a tire from 29 to 34, it takes 30 minutes. Additionally, it is working so hard to emit such a small amount of air that it moves all over the place. We have to hold it while attempting to use it.Update: Kensun contacted me when they saw my review and sent me a replacement (A1001) as well as the 12V to 110V adapter. It could, again, barely blow up a small child's ball from the car. As for the adapter to use it in the house, that was a complete joke. It gave the compressor just enough power to turn the light on. The air didn't work at all. Also, be aware that you're reading reviews for a variety of Kensun products. I still don't know how they have a 4.5 star average based on the multiple products we've tried, but the rating is very inaccurate. The products should all be listed separately so that the ratings are fair.Update 10/18/15: The company continues to contact me to offer free equipment to change my review or remove it. While I appreciate the effort to make us happy with our purchase, I don't appreciate them asking me to delete or change my review. Here are comments in the last 2 e-mails I received from them: "If we have met your needs and our offer resolves the issues with your purchase, we would be ever so appreciative if you would consider removing your review, as I wrote earlier, your ratings are important for us to continue to provide our customers with our services and products, and we do follow and try to resolve any issues our customers may have! " And another from this past week: "How are you ? I understand that you did not like your replacement air compressor but you can choose another model all is this is free all I ask if when you receive it and you are happy then if you could adjust your review ."Kensun: We have gave your product a fair try. The equipment is junk. Our review is just as important as the others. I am not removing or changing my review.Update 11/18/15: Kensun continues to harass us. They sent us another machine and we can't even get the hose to hook up properly to the equipment. When the manager called me, he said "sometimes customers get 2, 3, 4, or even 5 bad machines, but I assure you our equipment is good". Um, ok.KENSUN - I WILL NOT REMOVE MY REVIEW. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME AGAIN. You most recently called me 3 times in one day. I am also letting Amazon know about the continued contact. It's gone way overboard.

Not accurate. Not recommended.
November 11, 2017
Not accurate. Not recommended. Purchased this tire pressure gauge in May 2017. It looks to be well made. Yesterday, I had the technicians at one of the local Toyota dealers check it and compare it to their gauges. I had had my tires filled with nitrogen earlier in the week. When I checked the pressure in my tires the next morning using my new Tire Tek gauge, they measured 4 psi lower than the specification. I assumed that the technician had not inflated them properly. I called the dealer and made an appointment to get the tire pressure corrected and check my gauge against their gauges. A technician compared my gauge to 5 different gauges owned by different technicians, plus the gauge on their nitrogen fill system. My Tire Tek gauge showed a lower reading than (10% or more) of the gauges that it was compared to. It showed 3 psi lower for 4 out of 5 of the technician's gauges and 2.5 psi lower on the 5th gauge. All the technicians use the same brand of commercial quality gauge. The Tire Tek gauge is repeatable. The tests at the dealer show that it is not accurate. Too bad. This gauge is still under warranty but the packaging has been discarded long ago. Don't know if it is worth the effort to make a claim.

DOA
April 11, 2017
I received my gage in early December 20216. I went to use it for the first time last week and got no reading. My local tire shop checked my tires and filled them properly. Still no reading. DOA as many others have found. And I can't find out how to contact Tire Tek via Amazon. Grrr.
NOT dependable!!!
February 10, 2017
This LOOKS great. This LOOKS well-made (as much as you can expect for a tire gauge) Unfortunately, on a very cold night (and a week after return expired). I noticed a low pressure light on the dash. This is on a new car and didn't know how reliable the gauges were and want to fill it properly at a pump with a broken gauge. Put this on to get an initial reading and BOOM, fell apart in my hands! 4 loose pieces with no obvious way of putting it back together and screwing it tight (if that was even possible) I paid more for a pressure gauge for just the type of need. And it royally failed at that. "Premium" indeed. I'd hate to see their "cheap" one. Roll the dice and buy one, but there's a good chance you won't pass go.
Looks pretty but not worth a darn
December 4, 2016
Bought the first of these gauges and the pressure was off by 5 lbs relative to the two or three stick gauges I have. So I bought two more to see if I had a dud. Of the thee gauges, they were off by a couple lbs from each other. The inaccuracy of these gauges given the price is sort of hard to believe. Obviously I would not buy this product again. Looks pretty but not worth a darn!

Does not operate as advertised. I need a gouge that reads low pressures and this does not. It is supposed to read from 0 to 100, I need a gauge that will read in the teens and this one does not. Sorry I bought it and now and I'm told I can't return it.
Do NOT Buy this
July 9, 2017
This item worked fine the day it arrived... I kept it in the glove box in my car for a few months and when I tried to use it, it wouldn't even turn on. What a piece of garbage. I literally used it once and then nothing. Do not buy this - it is akin to throwing your money away.
