Excellent for cleaning Eye glasses, compared to the usual non ultrasonic cleaning with Zeiss solution, cleaning cloth etc..
September 17, 2017
Finally, an eye glass cleaning solution, which actually works!I use this for eye glass cleaning. Remember to rinse glasses with hot water, after you clean with this.I use a full rimmed plastic frame. Such frames accumulate oils at the top inner corners of the lens/frame.Even if you use a good leans cleaning solution and cloth and try to clean manually, these oils cause streaks and the oils cannot be removed easily, except with this ultrasonic cleaner!I use the 280 sec setting, to clean during shower time. 180 sec setting might also work just fine - I have not tried. The results are perfect! All the oils are being dislodged.. Take the glasses out of the unit and wash with hot water.. Then use a microfibre cloth to clean. The result is amazing, as compared to the usual non ultrasonic cleaning with Zeiss solution, cleaning cloth etc..I am very annoyed with the 5 star reviews on Amazon, for which free product was given, which are supposedly unbiased! Unbiased? Sure!I can assure you that this review is completely unbiased. I bought this unit on amazon. In fact, I noticed that this seems identical in pictures to the Isonic D3800, which is cheaper than the Magnasonic. I am assuming that they both are made by same OEM.I have ordered the isonic d3800 also, for a 2nd room.. I will reconfirm that they are identical, after I have tried it. You might want to buy that instead and save money.Another comment which also proves that my review is unbiased: I am assuming that just about any ultrasonic cleaner you buy would be as good as this Magnasonic.. Just make sure it is large enough for eye glasses. I am not even sure that you need the isonic cleaning solution.. Dish washing detergent might work just fine but I have not yet tried the dish washing detergent. I used the isonic solution.
and the water using the Blitz Gem and jewelry cleaner was so dirty. I had to change the tub twice
May 31, 2017
Hello , I am so ready to write a review on this device . I received it today May 31, 2017 . I could not wait to use it . I had so much jewelry that was tarnished . I started cleaning it , and the water using the Blitz Gem and jewelry cleaner was so dirty . I had to change the tub twice. I still have not finished. I will have to do the rest on another day .. I want to say this device is AWESOME!! If there were more stars , I'd give it more. I want to say ,if you have pieces that are very tarnished ,you'll have to clean it longer..
Very pleased with this cleaner.
April 27, 2017
Works very well. I use mine primarily to clean electronic cigarette atomizers and parts. Hot water and two drops of dye/scent free dish soap..then a rinse cycle in plain water. Of course it works fantastically for jewelry, eye glasses etc. It also works extremely well for cleaning and recycling small bottles like eliquid bottles. Removes all the residue from whatever was in the bottle as well as the odor. Once you have one you'll wonder how you did without it.
Large tank and many timer settings.
April 19, 2017
After decades of use, my ultrasonic cleaner that I used for my eyeglasses and my wife's jewelry stopped working. The Magnasonic, twice as large and which cost about one-third than that of my original, smaller unit, works just as well. It is very easy to use and I like the fact that it has many timer settings, which my old cleaner did not offer. I have already recommended this unit to friends.
GREAT Purchase!
February 27, 2017
This is a GREAT jewelry cleaner! I bought the recommended jewelry cleaner fluid and cleaned my earrings and rings first. I was shocked at how dirty the water was - I hope I wasn't spreading diseases before the cleaning! :) I have another jewelry cleaner that did a good job, but it's nothing compared to the Magnasonic cleaner. My jewelry came out looking like I had taken them to the jewelers for cleaning. I did spend a few days thinking about buying the Magnasonic, but don't waste your time - just buy it! It's the best!!!
Great
December 29, 2016
My wife wanted a jewelry cleaner for her wedding band and engagement ring so that she didn't have to go to the jeweler anymore. They're always doing a perfunctory job there, ya know what I mean? I just put a little 'non-harsh' dish soap in there with some hot water, turn on the sonicator, and brush the jewelry with a toothbrush after 30 seconds and voila!

Works well, priced affordably!
March 16, 2016
Great price, bought it to make liposomal nutrients, does the job... Gets kinda hot fast...max run time is 8 minutes. The maker cautions not to run machine over 15 minutes straight to avoid overheating. I've run it 4 cycles straight at 8 mins each and it did ok... I do not advise it though, I did that at my own risk!
Great little Ultrasonic Cleaner for Fountain Pen users!
September 24, 2015
This little ultrasonic cleaner is working well for what I bought it for...to clean all of my fountain pen nib sections when I re-ink. The nibs and sections come out nice an clean after two runs at 8 minutes. Will be putting in some of the ink converters too.
It works! Sparkles galore!
February 21, 2014
Granted, I’ve only used this ultrasonic cleaner a handful of times. I purchased it primarily to bring my wife’s wedding ring back to looking new again. Besides the main diamond, her ring is designed with 12 other marquees laid out in such a way that it is very hard to reach the backsides to clean them, even with a fine brush. This cleaner manages to get into all of those nooks and crannies. The ring is now looking as good as new. Incredibly sparkly! It’s really amazing to see the difference once all the hand lotion, soap residue, grime, etc… is removed from the ring.I purchased the Blitz Gem & Jewelry Cleaner Concentrate (8 Oz) as well, and used that from the beginning, so I don’t know how this would work with tap water alone, or mixed with a mild dish soap. I did use luke warm water mixed with the Blitz concentrate. After the first few minutes in the ultrasonic cleaner, I removed her ring. It was better, but still some grime on the back of the main diamond and some of the others. I took a tooth brush to the back of the diamonds briefly, and noticed that the grime was very loose and came off easily. Back in for another few minutes, took it out and rinsed it off... WOW! We’ll be using this cleaner regularly now. I cleaned a herringbone gold necklace and it removed a bunch of build up that I didn’t even know was there. So much so, I had to replace the cleaning solution as it had got cloudy from all the buildup that was removed. …and I thought the necklace looked pretty clean before it went into the cleaner! Tried this on other diamond/gem earrings and pendants with the same success.I just hope it hold up. So far, I’m very happy with the purchase.
No issues with water ruining electronics (seen by previous reviewer) with careful pouring--has lasted over a year
November 9, 2013
Before I purchased this ultrasonic cleaner, I read previous reviews including the review about water damaging the electronics. I purchased this model even with the previous review because I figured the possibility of water ruining electronics could likely be endemic to this sort of device. I have been careful when emptying my device. It has lasted over a year with no issues. I pour the water over the back (not over the display) and quickly wipe any water around the seals. I do not regret my purchase. This cleaner cleans well and is easy to use.Once you own one of these, you will not be able to imagine how you lived without one. This cleaner is very good at cleaning glasses. Yes, there are other methods of cleaning glasses that are less expensive. If you clean your glasses using an ultrasonic cleaner, you never go back. When putting your glasses on after cleaning, the difference is stunning. My step mom has owned a new trent ultrasonic cleaner for years. I thought it was an unjustified, useless purchase until I tried it. Once I tried it, I had to get one of my own.
Cleaner good for light duty cleaning
September 3, 2013
This a good little cleaner for the money. It is not industrial duty of course. It holds 2 cups of water. It works best on little parts. It is not as effective on larger parts. For better results, add some detergent which has a wetting agent in it, like dish soap. Also, heat the water before you put it in the cleaner. This will help break down dirt, and also helps de-gas the water. I bought this for small bike carburetors, but it is not too effective on something of that mass. It is only 35 watts, so that is to be expected. The industrial cleaners run 1000 watts on up, but also cost many thousand of dollars.
Jump on this one!

Pros:Ease of use 5I used this unit straight out of the box without instruction. Buttons for timing are clearly marked and they all can be used without harm to items cleaned.Effectiveness in cleaning 5Well, I used this unit without adding any additional cleaners on my glasses, my wedding ring and, yes, my partial dentures. Amazing! And without soap! And so quick!Ease of cleanup 5A 5-star rating in this department is rare for me. It was just as easy to clean it up as it was to start it up. Steps involved: empty it. If you want to complicate your life, wipe it with a towel.Size 5I admit to having useful devices for all the things I do and use. Okay, I have a lot of them. So space, both for storage and for use, is an issue. I was so relieved that it was smaller than I expected. No space is wasted on this guy. The size you see on the outside is what you get on the inside, which is a lot of space! My point is that I can easily find a spot to store and/or use the cleaner. Light weight, it is, and the depth (front to back) is just narrow enough for me to use only one of my normal-size girl hands.Additional uses 5I make jewelry. I use a lot of silver, gold and stones or beads. Most of what I make is soldered. In the case of hand made chains, there is a lot of soldering. That means there is a lot of polishing required before the jewelry can be worn. Yes, I have a special machine for polishing metals. The problem is that if the item I've made has stones or expensive crystal beads in it, my regular polisher will destroy the stones/beads. So, I tried a piece that had become nearly black sitting for months on the workbench waiting for me to resolve the problem. I added about 1/4 tsp of polishing powder to the water, put the bracelet inside and turned it on. Actually, I ran it twice once I discovered that my bracelet was still intact. Absolutely beautiful! I am WAY pleased!Cons: none so far.Improvements: I'm still watching for things that could be better. I can always find things I'd change, but so far, I haven't come up with any. I promise to update my review if I can think of anything.

Fountain Pens get cleaned well.
August 30, 2017
Works fine. Seems to be built well. Easy to change the time. Doesn't really need a top. I bought it for my fountain pens. It works well for them, but diamonds, jewelry, rings? Everyone should have an ultrasonic cleaner. As far as the fountain pens go, I have expensive pens, piston fill and adapter fill. The adapter type isn't too bad since you can just lay the entire nib section in the vat. But with the piston fills, I don't like the idea of the entire pen vibrating against another surface or against another pen. I placed a rock beneath the basket so the nib could go between the basket ribs so the pen could basically be leaning against the side. It's not the most elegant method but it does work. It takes a bit to find the right place so the pen won't slide in. Oh, I did at first lay an MB149 down. At the top where you twist the piston, some substance began to come off. It looked like fog coming off the pen. Still not knowing what that was, I am concerned it could be the adhesive used to keep the brass attached to the resin. That's the main reason I won't lay them down.
My Review
March 20, 2017
It cleans very well, but it is hard to pour liquid out of it. It needs a little groove to channel and direct the water like the spout of a pitcher has. I would recommend the larger model as this is a little smaller than I thought it would be. You cannot use this for vinyl records and to clean a CD, it needs to be rotated several times.
Looks good. Works well. BUT SEE WARNING...
September 26, 2016
It works. It looks good.Worked great for getting the nasty grunge out of the nose pads on my eyeglasses. We haven't used it on my wife's jewelry much because of the various recommendations out there about putting gemstones (and synthetic ones) into an ultrasonic cleaner. Don't know details. So I am pretty happy so far (a couple weeks).BUT DANGER DANGER DANGER: One of my pairs of eyeglasses has a dark blue paint coating on the metal front piece. The glasses are 3 years old and had a couple of small, but obvious paint chips from wear and tear. After use in the ultrasonic cleaner a few times, there are *many* more places where the paint is gone. Took a while for me to realize it, but now it's pretty obvious. Apparently there were a lot of very small rough spots in the paint after 3 years and the ultrasonics "cleaned them" off the glasses entirely. Which is what you want when the imperfections are dirt and grunge. But I couldn't see these imperfections and I got surprised. My unpainted metal frames had no problems.Anyway -- it's proof that the cleaner works. Really well. So watch out.I'm still glad we got the cleaner. I guess I should have read more about ultrasonic cleaners before putting those glasses in. The nose pads certainly look nice. See photo.
It does a great job of cleaning the items I've tried so far
July 22, 2016
I was skeptical about this cleaner due to the fact it only uses water and vibration to clean but I was pleasantly surprised! It does a great job of cleaning the items I've tried so far, (earrings, ring, anklet, 2 necklace chains with charms, a folding knife with a lot of detail, and a pair of glasses) but I did have to spend some time after the cleaning trying to clean up missed spots. The after cleaning didn't take much time, but not something I really expected I'd need to do after the cleaning. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to those who would like to keep up maintenance cleanings on their jewelry and other items.
Good job with what it advertised
November 2, 2015
I was a little disappointed using only water and Dawn as per instructions with items except eye glasses so I ordered iSonic CSGJ01-8oz Ultrasonic Jewelry/Eye Wear Cleaning Solution Concentrate.I tried it with the “solution concentrate” as per their instructions and am still somewhat disappointed. The unit appears to be working fine; it works great with eye glasses and it makes rings look real nice on the outside. However, it does not clean the inside of the diamonds as well as when the jeweler cleans them. I can see the dirt come off the glasses and there is definitely dirt, etc in the bottom when finished. I also tried cleaning a “night guard” that has calcium deposits on it and it did not clean them off like the one at the dentist’s office.I suppose I was just expecting more than what this unit is made to do as the Jeweler and the Dentist must have a commercial unit stronger than this one. Actually, the unit does a good job with what it advertised to do. I suspect that it is not significantly different than others Amazon has to offer in the same price range. I will keep it and use it for eye glasses, rings, and my new night guard before it has time to accumulate deposits.
Add Dish Soap & Tarnish Remover for SPARKLE
July 31, 2015
Works well, a bit of dish soap helps degrease and I added some silver cleaner to help with tarnish. Everything sparkles now! I did need to use several cycles because most of my jewelry had never been cleaned.Word of warning - necklaces with very fine chains can get tangled by the ultrasonic waves and movement if they are put in together.Overall I'm happy with this purchase and while it's not something I'll use all the time, it was affordable and works.

July 27, 2017
worked as described but just does not seem to be that powerful a cleaner. It took multiple times to clean the gunk off my glasses.
Cleans well
February 15, 2014
I was satisfied with the results when I cleaned my rings, earrings and watch band. I did as everyone suggested to be extra careful in pouring out the water to avoid anything getting inside. I dumped water out quickly and left the unit upside down while I washed and wiped the inside and left it this way overnight just to be sure. Also I did lose a stone in the basin but I was lucky to find it. Be sure to look over your pieces closely when you take it out and rinse in a plugged sink. I would rather the stone fall out in the machine versus loosing it entirely. My pieces came out super clean and shiny. Just as I expected.
Good Jewelry Cleaner Does what it should
November 5, 2013
I bought this mostly for my wife's diamond rings, necklaces and other jewelry. I use hot water, the recommended cleaner and 120 seconds (3 minutes). The jewelry comes out noticeably cleaner and the diamond regains it's sparkle. Clearly the water is a dull dirty cloudy color afterwards and you can tell that the sonic vibrations loosened substantial dirt. It's important to follow the directions; stubborn oils or dirt may need to be pre brushed with a toothbrush etc, to loosen it up. Also, I always rinse them in clean water and blow dry them after cleaning. If you handle them wet or store them straight out of the cleaner, the moisture is going to collect new oils and dirt, making you feel like the jewelry is dirty again very quickly.I've used this for a few months now on all sorts of jewelry including bracelets, earrings etc. No complaints. It did vibrate the coating off an old cheap piece of fashion jewelry, but I shouldn't have put that in there I guess. It did reinforce how powerful it is. No complaints and it's doing what i expected. I'd say be realistic though, it's not magic and won't remove five years of tarnish on silver or dirt that accumulates over time in prongs etc. Some supplemental cleaning is still necessary, but it's a great way to keep jewelry clean or freshen it up before a night out![...]Thanks.
Jewelry Cleaner
August 9, 2012
First and foremost, if you are looking for a product to clean something with years upon years worth of corrosion, dirt and grime you should look elsewhere. These ultrasonic cleaners are more of a maintenance item then heavy duty cleaner. If used regulary, you should be able to reduce or eliminate the need of a professional cleaning, but you can't expect to throw a ring uncleaned for 10 years in to come out like new. These are amazing at getting jewelry clean, but they will not remove scratches that will need to be buffed out or redipped. That being said, this product does a wonderful job. We were engaged for almost 3 years before finally getting married. Our jeweler recommended these cleaners for the engagement ring. By using this cleaner about every 3 months we were able to keep our ring as clean as the wedding band for the day we got married. It is very simple to use, you just add water and some dish soap, throw in the item and turn it on. We have used it on our white gold rings and have had no issues with the rhodium plating being removed.
Works as described
August 6, 2012
The product arrived as described and works good. I went a bit crazy and started cleaning all my watches and gold jewelry! It helps to add some sort of jewelry or home made cleaner (ammonia based) and use warm water. I haven't put silver or cheap metal in the cleaner because I was afraid of what would happen. It also works well on eye glasses, contact lens cases and small empty plastic bottles (for aspirin or medication). If there is a lot of grease or sticky residue, be sure to use some sort of grease remover before and after cleaning. The cleaner will loosen the oil/grease, but it won't work as well as a solvent. Really dirty items require a longer cycle or a soak, but use your own judgement depending on what you are using it for.
Shiny
April 4, 2012
Pros:-gets the ring clean, looks great-I have to use it every 2/3 days for my ring to stay clean, but thats probably my fault since I have tiny little pave set diamonds running down the length of my engagement ring- looks nice sitting on the counter- PriceCons:- I have to use it constantly to keep my ring clean, I'm worried about shaking my diamonds out of their setting.- Impossible to keep water off the machine. Filling it isn't a problem, it is dumping it out over the side that gets water all over the machine. Maybe adding a lip to the edge so it has an aimed spout would make a difference? No problems yet! I've had it for 2 months. I've run it with and without jewelry cleaner, a bit of blitz adds a nice sparkle.

Okay, at best
August 19, 2017
This cleaner is okay for cleaning eye wear and normal cleanup of jewelry. I use it about once a week for my daily pieces to remove lotion and soap build up. It does NOT work for pieces that are tarnished, it may remove some but not all. I have a pendant that is heavily tarnished I “cleaned” with this at least 20 times since purchasing it and it still looks the exact same. It just doesn't cut it. However, for a spit shine type cleaning this makes fast, easy work of it and easier on the hands/nails than using an old toothbrush. I wouldn't purchase it again though and only kept because I forgot to return it.

It looks like a serious cleaning machine
December 1, 2016
I'm not sure I see much of a difference over a "dip it and brush it" system available in a jar. I also think that emptying the tank is messy since I use a solution of Formula 409 and warm water (jeweler's recommendation) that I save and refresh from one cleaning to the next. It looks like a serious cleaning machine, though! I have tried to remove tarnish on silver with this but you have to follow up with a polishing cloth. I think it's best for gold/diamond pieces.
Not heavy duty.
October 17, 2016
Not terribly impressed with the results I received. And the list of items that can't be cleaned is disappointingly long. I used it mostly for my gold jewelry and some vintage items I'd inherited. Some of these had to be done three or four times on the highest setting, and still didn't appear all that clean. (They were not excessively dirty to begin with.) Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I don't think I'd buy it again.
Good but...
October 17, 2016
I used this product and most of my jewelry came out beautiful (amazing considering only water was used per their instructions). However I only gave it 3 stars since I will have to redo two of my diamond rings which did not get completely clean. The first time I did 90 seconds then repeated it for 300 seconds. Still I like not using the usual chemical cleaners. Hopefully the two rings will look better on the third try.
This does a fairly good job of cleaning jewelry
January 30, 2016
This does a fairly good job of cleaning jewelry. They have more shine. However, I bought this thinking it would do a better job cleaning my eyeglasses, that seem to have constant smudge marks, than any of the cleaning methods I have used, (including washing with Dawn Dishwashing Liquid). Once I received the Ultrasonic Polisher, however, the written instructions included clearly state that it is effective in cleaning eyeglass FRAMES, not lenses. If I had known that ahead of time, I would probably not have ordered it, as I don't wear a lot of jewelry.I would have given this 4 stars since it cleaned my daughter's diamond nicely, but the description on Amazon says that it can be used on eyeglasses, and does not point out that it is only for the frames of the glasses. Seems like that is a bit deceitful.

Okay, but didn't last long.
February 19, 2015
It was okay while it lasted. Both the ultrasonic driver and the epoxy holding the driver to the tub failed after a relatively short period of time (about 3 months of occasional use). I opted for a bigger watt unit, and it's been going strong for a couple years now. Spend the extra few bucks and get the bigger one.
Hammacher Schlemmer?
October 31, 2012
I just received the jewelry cleaner, so I am not sure of the functionality. I researched jewelry cleaners and the Hammacher Schlemmer is supposed to be very good. The one that I received does not say Hammacher Schlemmer on it at all (not on the box, instructions or product). The packaging (box) is different than that shown in the Amazon description. Ultrasonic Cleaner Model D3800A
just OK.
April 8, 2012
Does what it supposed to do, but not much action. It looks pretty, nice chrome bezel (on plastic) and appeared to be of reasonable quality.Do not expect your jewelry or coins be like new. This will never do that and this is not what it's for. Dull surfaces and scratches will stay no matter what.I got it to clean parts for mechanical watches and this is fine for that, tho too low power. This will only clean dirt, oil and gunk from hard to reach crevices on small, hard objects. Basically this is replacement for very gentle fine brush cleaning. It will save you some work. Just drop thing into basket and run through few cycles. Why it is not 5 star?1. Manual says you can use it to clean whole wrist watch and it even came with holder (see pictures). This might destroy your watch and should be never attempted!2. I guess to reduce risk of damage to watches this thing has very low power and pretty low frequency, only about 40KHz. It has some action but not as much as it should. Even with detergent or CLR I had to run 4-5 max cycles to get things to the point where professional cleaner gets in couple of minutes.
Ehhhhhh!
January 10, 2012
The product arrived in a timely fashion, was wrapped nicely and looks good. Having said that, it is just OK. It is priced at the right point for what it does, which is lightly cleans stuff, in our case, jewelry. It seems to better with stones, rather than metals. The stones sparkle well, and you can see debris that have sloughed off, however, it doesn't do a great job with the metal portion. They are not going to come out shiny, like you would get in a jewelery store. It doesn't un-tarnish silver. Also it drives my wife crazy that the max time is 480 seconds, she had to cycle the thing 1/2 dozen times to get adequate cleaning. It is quiet and doesn't take up too much space.Given what I was looking for (for my wife) and given how it performs, I probably wouldn't buy it again. She got it for Christmas and after being pretty excited about it and firing it up for a week, it has been relegated to a shelf. I anticipate it will be pulled out periodically when she really needs it, and if I were a gambling man, I suspect it will end up in the Goodwill within 1-1 1/2 yrs. Maybe longer if we find something else to use it for.
Does the job but doesn't hold up
January 8, 2012
This unit quit working after a few months. No warranty at that point. I used it just about 15 minutes a day. Needed another one and ordered a second one. The buttons on the front are different on the second one and it has kept working although it got weird for a few days and would change the time to all sorts of numbers while it was operating. It finally got over that and then worked okay again. I have it set aside right now but hope it works when I need it again.By the way, it does a good job of cleaning and also for making liposomal supplements which is what I used it for mostly. The Amazon Prime price both times I ordered was the best around.
Decent for the price
October 26, 2011
I bought this product from Amazon as my Brookstone ultrasonic unit stopped working after 3 years. I use this unit to clean jewelry, glasses, cds etc. The solution I use is a bit of dish soap and Windex with water when I clean metal. For glasses I only use dish soap.I have found that I must run the jewelry through a few cycles and use a small brush to clean the item in between cycles to get the item really clean. After that, everything will sparkle. I DO NOT use the ultrasonic for pearls, corals, emeralds, onyx, opals as this will crack and destroy the stones.Overall, this product is decent for the price. My only hope it is will last for longer than a few years.

Not Sure About Thus Product
September 9, 2017
The jury is still out on this product. I've only had it a couple of weeks. Possibly, my jewelry is not that dirty, or it just doesn't do that good of a job. Not sure yet. Used it to clean my husbands electric razor blades and it sure got a lot of gunk out, but he's not really seeing much difference. It definitely does nothing for my silver Indian jewelry. I'll re-review it and let you know.
Did not effectively clean my watch bracelet.
April 11, 2017
I cleaned the watch bracelet but did not clean well compared to my other ultrasonic cleaner I bought many years ago. The other smaller ultrasonic cleaner I bought was for my workplace which I purchased in the 1980's. I mainly use the old unit to clean hardened grease off small mechanical gears so I purchased this Magnasonic unit for cleaning non greasy items. It takes two minutes to really clean my watch bracelet on my old unit but when I tried on this Magnasonic cleaner, I can see the grime still attached between the bracelet after three 180 second cleanings. I did not try the hardened grease attached gears on this Magnasonic unit. Returned the unit as the old cleaner is still working.
Would not recommend this product to anyone
February 9, 2017
After less than 30 uses it just stopped working. I read the reviews that this has happened to several people. Would not recommend this product to anyone.
Poor cleaning power.
October 27, 2016
Does not clean as I expected. I tried to clean up some old pre 1982 copper pennies. After 6 cycles of the longest setting, there is some small debris in the bottom of the tank but there doesn't appear to be a huge difference in the coins. I used 10 to 1 water and simple green. If you have to clean something before putting it in here I don't see the point. Would not buy again.
Very misleading product description. Amazon should call the manufacturer ...
August 23, 2016
Very misleading product description. Amazon should call the manufacturer on the following issues.I bought this ultrasonic cleaner to replace one that Brookstone sold a few years ago (looks the same). However, the older Brookstone model came with an arch to hold your watch face above the water level to keep it from being submersed and damaged. I bought this more expensive model because it said it was for watches rather than buying the less expensive model by the same company that did not say it was for watches. There is no arch or other way to put a watch into this cleaner without fully immersing it and ruining it if it is not waterproof. And although the Amazon product description states it is also for cleaning glasses, there is a disclaimer in the product user manual stating that it is not for use with glasses that have a pre-existing scratch or crack in the glasses coating. This is followed by the statement: "Ultrasonic cleaning is only suitable for cleaning frames". I do not plan to remove my watch from the watch band every time I want to clean the watch band and I certainly do not plan to remove my lenses from my glasses frames prior to cleaning the frames.
Poor performance, does not live up to other reviews.

Not impressed with this in the least. Does a minimal job of cleaning at best. Tried advice based on other reviews and using distilled and purified water. Other reviews seem to indicate what an amazing job this should do at cleaning my glasses. It doesn't. I had to clean them by hand still after using this. Waste of money.

not real happy with it does not stay on long enough to be effective it would be nice if it had a little bit more agitation
Not very effective.

Doesn't seem super effective. Wish I would have shelled out for a more powerful model for cleaning bike chains etc.
NOT A STURDY and QUALITY PRODUCT...
November 13, 2013
Order #104-5042681-0169033 -- First one just lasted for (7) seven months only it was under warranty; Then replacement item lasted only one (1) year and two (2) months; It seems this item will LAST ONLY AFTER ONE YEAR OF WARRANTY and expect a few weeks or months then that's it... If you are looking for a product to LAST AT LEAST (5) FIVE YEARS with EVERYDAY USAGE... THIS IS NOT THE PRODUCT YOU WILL CHOOSE... I suggest to look for other STURDIER BRAND... About the QUALITY OF CLEANING -- AVERAGE to BELOW AVERAGE; I gave them (2) two stars for CUSTOMER SERVICE instead of one (1) star it is because they replaced the first one NOTHING ELSE; but for QUALITY PRODUCT definitely one (1) star... Maybe you should ask yourself about the HIGH RATING MARKS about this product... To authenticate and justify my review I am happy to provide anybody documents (invoices at Amazon and communications (emails) from the company based on the replacement) and pictures of said product if needed...
Works very well until it breaks

The cleaning ability of this is amazing. My rings look like different rings, and they are beautiful after being cleaned in it. Unfortunately, it just broke. The mechanism which causes the tub to vibrate still seems to run but no longer makes contact with the tub, so it doesn't vibrate.
Not worth the money

I don't see any difference in my jewelry at all. I run the cleaner several times over a couple days and it does not make any of my stones shiny. It barely shows any ultrasonic pulsating to determine if the unit is working. I called their customer service and he claimed it was working correctly.
I was excited!
November 16, 2012
I was really excited to find a small ultrasonic cleaner that was reasonably priced. But after using it on several different items, it does NOT do what it advertised! It didn't clean my wife's silver necklaces at all, she went back to using plain toothpaste because it works in less than a minute! And it didn't clean plastic parts to vending machines that I own, so I am seriously considering returning this item. It's rather frustrating that it was so lousy. Buyer Beware.

This is the product that finally convinced me that amazon reviews are fake and cannot be trusted. This Magnasonic doesn't clean anything. I mean not at all. Not in the slightest way does it remove any dirt, grime, grease or debris of any kind. It is a complete and total ripoff. The only thing it effectively removes is money from your wallet.
Probably defective?
July 17, 2017
I had high hopes for this ultrasonic cleaner due to the primarily positive reviews posted. However, in my case it failed to clean either lightly smudged glasses nor any jewelry/coins with obvious (greasy) staining. Tried running multiple cycles with and without dish soap but neither cleaned even remotely. Had more success lightly scrubbing with a soft toothbrush.
Doesn't clean my jewelry - even with the recommended cleaning product.
May 13, 2017
Doesn't clean hardly at all. I used the prescribed cleaner and it doesn't clean. Even after re-cleaning and re-cleaning, my jewelry still isn't clean. Cannot recommend! Was a waste of my money. Shipping was fine. Product sucks.
No visible evidence that this unit did anything
March 26, 2017
As far as I can tell, this unit did nothing. I tried it on glasses, jewelry and coins. I saw no visible difference between the before and after condition of everything I tried. I'm returning it today..
Didn't Clean...
February 4, 2017
I bought this item based off of the reviews and was excited to receive it so I can clean my Silver. However, it didn't work as everyone stated it would. I put my jewelry in the machine and actually ran it through multiple times, based off the instructions and feedback, to see if it would get better.
Stops mid cycle- wish I could return
October 24, 2016
Bought to clean up some old jewelry. I've used it less than five times and it stops mid cycle most of the time. I'd like to return it but I think I'm stuck with it.

This broke after a few months and will only go to 180 seconds and have to restart it by unplugging and rep lugging...
A lemon!!! 6 rounds and it quit working.
April 19, 2014
This machine lasted for less than 2 months. I used it 6 times, total, and from the get go, the motor would sound louder then quieter, then louder, until it fizzled out and sat there doing nothing. Because I've never owned one, I assumed that was normal at first. But after each use it sounded odder each time. $36.09 (with shipping ) for 6 cleanings. I'll use a dang toothbrush and toothpaste to clean my jewelry after this. It works 100 percent better and it's cheaper.
Do not waste your money take your jewels to a jewerler for cleaning!
November 1, 2013
This thing worked for 380 seconds and then never worked again! Really???? I'm not an electrician and i shouldn't have to tinker with a product as a consumer to figure out why it does not work as advertised!!! Better to spend the $30 on used xbox 360 game! I want refund! Horrible product!!! Ended up cleaning Pandora 14k bracelet manually by hand!!! Uselsss!!!
I loved it for about three months.

!!!!I have asked several times to have this corrected, I purchased the New Trent Model CD-7810A, some linked the wrong product to my purchase, please correct it for the third time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It worked beautifully, my main perpose for the cleaner was to clean my eye glasses and it was simply great. Every day I would start my day with cleaning my eye glasses. After cleaning they were crystal clear. Then it failed in one month, then started working again, then two month failed again, so uplugged it and cleaned it. Which I did after every use. Followed the instructions. The third month it would not restart. I hate to send something worth less than $70, if it can be repaired, it is just not worth it. So I try to fix it, since I am an Engineer and have built just about any electronic you can think of. I will open the product and do a through inspection. It hopeless I will trash it. I have fixed big flat screen HD TV's. Getting back to this cleaner, even filling to the line everytime, it would bubble some how, drip to the parts inside and the control in front. The flaw is in not sealing the bowl the case and placing some plastic above the front control to protect it if it happen to leak. So Trent blew it, very simple fixes, to bad. I give it an F. Don't buy.
It broke fast

After using this device 3 times, the glass window on the top of the unit started to crack up. It's now falling apart and is not usuable. Also: this device is supposed to use water only, not jewelry cleaner or methanol, and this was not listed in Amazon's description of the device. I would not have bought this if I had known.I can't believe this has so many good reviews... it's a very cheaply-made machine.
Doesn't Clean Much
January 13, 2012
The unit arrived in good condition and on time. The seller did everything that they were supposed to do, so the one star rating has to do with the merchandise, not the seller.I tried the D3800A with a number of different items, including an intentionally smeared pair of glasses. I used clean water with several drops of detergent and allowed the cleaning to continue for three cycles. After rinsing, the smear was still there - no significant change at all.My suspicion is that for $35 or so, that's all you get. I'd say that if you want an effective ultrasonic cleaner, you're going to need to shell out probably several hundred dollars. Not recommended.
