| Best out of ALLSeptember 25, 2017 I've tried a lot of different pastes. This one checks all my boxes. Here's the ones I've tried and a short problem I have with each: Reuzel Pink Grease - too greasy, can't wash it off easily, hands OR hair. Smooth Viking Styling Clay - didn't style very easily, didn't stick hairs together. Challenger Blue, Matte Styling Cream - dried too quickly on your hands, had to style it quickly. Tigi Bed Head, American Crew Fiber and a few more that are forgettable. The closest was Mitch Reformer, but it didn't have that great of a hold. I have thin, straight hair, and this is the best styling creme that I've come across. Highly recommend! I have thick hair with some body to it and it can tend to fall out of place but this stuff keeps it where it's supposed to be without turning it into a crusty mess of hair that cracks under pressure. I usually use a very small amount unless I need some heavy hold. It doesn't give you a greasy, shiny look. Some people dig the pomade shine, but not me. I like this matte look. Holds it well, but still keeps it natural looking and classy. Hold isn't 100% which is good and bad. For short styles it has much better hold. Will buy from again! 5 stars!September 28, 2015 Works great, the nice scent goes away quick if you are worried about that. Places my hair all day long and washes out very easily without any gunk left in the hair. Perfect for shorter hairs. I noticed if you use some water with the product there is a sleek wet shine that remains all day in your hair. If you don't like that then just use on partially dry hair. Recommended and is lasting me a while as you only need a small amount about quarter sized rubbed in the hands and evenly distributed to the hair. A little goes a long way so don't overdo it and us too much or you'll notice residue left behind. |

| Works great - similar to Aveda's Control Paste...August 22, 2017 I bought this as an alternative to Aveda's Control Paste, and for the most part I'm pretty satisfied. It's a "hair" greasier than Aveda's offering, but it's not unmanageable. Taking into consideration it costs less than half the price for more quantity, I'd be hard pressed to go back to Aveda's paste. You could do far worse - give it a try! I walked in fairly heavy rain for about 30min and when I got inside and looked in the mirror I was shocked to see my hair was still in the same position as when I first styled it. The hold is weak and I didn't care for the small size and amount. Okay for short hair; not so much for medium...April 10, 2017 So this is an okay product, probably best suited for extremely short hair. If you have medium to medium-long hair, this stuff gets clumpy in a hurry. I've shopped around tons of matte clays and landed on Aveda (I'd order from their site, FYI). Main reason is if you want a stronger hold, you generally have to use more product. With this Lamel clay, the more you use, the more it sticks to itself, which no longer looks matte or invisible at all... almost like hair gel. Aveda and Paul Mitchell's clays stick more to your hair and remain invisible, doing what you're wanting it to do - look natural as if the product isn't there and giving you a strong hold. Not saying this is a bad product, but if you're like me and have medium to medium-long hair and you're looking for a good clay, I'd probably look elsewhere. This had no hold at all and was a little damp, which caused all my cowlicks to appear in full force. I looked worse than if I had used nothing. If you don't care about hold at all, it did have some good points. It smelled nice, it's matte, and it did add some body.
