October 9, 2016 I bought this in preparation for a move from Germany back to the US. I wanted to get it ahead of time to let our daughter get used to it, since all of our furniture would be packed up and on a boat for a loooong time.I had her take naps in it at home instead of her crib (13-14 months old) and for date nights, I would bring it to the babysitter's house.It fit easily in our big luggage for the flight back to the US and it wasn't heavy at all. It fit perfectly under the "desk" built into our hotel room and you can see Chloe didn't have an issue sleeping on it. She was able to crawl up on down from it with no problem. I believe I have an updated model as compared to the description of the product in previous reviews. **Now that my kids are a little older, my wife and I plan to do a little more traveling. Unfortunately the entire family sleeping in a large king sized hotel bed is becoming less of an option. We decided that purchasing travel cots/beds would be the solution.There were some key features we were looking for:* First, we wanted a bed that was economically sound :) I'm sure anyone reading this who has more than one child understands that when one kid gets something, the others have to have the same. In our situation we would need to purchase 2.* Second, we wanted it to be compact when stored as we have minimal vehicle space already. As with the previous note, we would need to cram 2 into the car.* Third, ease of assembly.* Fourth, durability. This and the previous note pretty much does away with an air mattress. I've had plenty of air mattresses in my time and convenience and durability have always been questionable.In searching I came across this one and another one that was very close to fitting the bill. Unfortunately the other one cost more than twice what this bed cost. considering I had to by 2, the choice was obvious.I was a little concerned about some of the previous reviews. They have noted that the center support strap is too tight and it creates an elevated section in the middle. This would obviously make the bed uncomfortable to use for anyone who had to lay across it. There were enough positive reviews that I decided to go for it and see if I couldn't adjust the bed to make it more comfortable.I am happy to say that the bed is better than I had expected. Especially so because of the cost. As I have noted at the start, I believe I have an updated model. Perhaps Regalo had read all of the more negative reviews and took them to heart. There is no strap in the center but instead there are criss-crossed straps on both sides (I have attached pictures so you can see how it's supported now). There is still a slight hump in the center from the tension of the fabric between the two center supports but it's not bad. My little girl doesn't mind and she actually asks to sleep in the bed each night.Hope this helps anyone who is thinking about buying this. Four Star Reviews: | 17% Great cot but needs one thing. October 2, 2017 Worked great when we took a vacation to the in-laws. The only draw back that I wish this unit would have is a snap that would lock it into place when the unit is fully extended. When we put on the sheet that was included it would try to fold up. If you don't use the fitted sheet for it this cot works GREAT! If you use the fitted sheet I would put something on the cot like a blanket or pillow so it won't try to creep/fold up. Perfect for Toddlers, 5 and Under September 11, 2017 Purchased these as an alternative to air beds for my rowdy boys. The material of the bed is not the softest but durable, we just put fleece blankets over to make more cozy. Lightweight and easy to throw into the trunk for travel. I used higher quality crib sheets as the sheet that comes with his pretty basic. Overall I love these beds and will put to good use! Kids never complained about comfort after sleeping on them for 10 days. 4 stars because:1. They do sit a few inches above the ground. One of my kids moves around a ton and can roll off. Not high enough to injure himself though.2. My 5 year old will be grown out of this by next year & he's average height and lightweight. I wouldn't recommend this for children over 4 unless they are pretty petite. Pretty good. April 25, 2017 It's basically one of those canvas looking lawn chairs that go in a bag for easy carrying to sporting events but a cot! It doesn't have any cushion at all. We use a fluffy quilt folded up between the cot and it's cover as padding. It works well. My toddler loves it, that's all that matters!Oh and it comes with a bag for easy carrying. OK for 19mo old January 14, 2017 Was unable to use the cover because it has elastic that makes the cot fold up. Without the cover, it works as expected except the support through the middle causes there to be a lump (like a bar in a fold out bed). My 19mo old couldn't lay across it because her back would be hyper-extended. She ended up having to curl up on either end which had more of a hammock feel to it. I'm not sure if other cots are better but ultimately this worked for our needs. We used it hotels and my daughter was able to get a good night's rest on it. Great temporary bed with amazing value December 22, 2016 We bought this for short trips and overnights at Grandma's house. I had planned on buying something larger, but for the value and storage size, opted to try this first.What I love: It's super compact, and my kiddo loves it. He sleeps very well on it. And you can't beat the value for the price.What could be improved: I wish it locked into place a little better. If, a hypothetical small child were to go against the recommendations and play on it, the cot doesn't stay completely flat. I also wish there were additional sheets available for it a bit softer than the nylon sheet that comes with it.Overall: I love this product. I've recommended it to several friends, and would definitely buy it again if I had need of another. I wouldn't use it as a regular bed, but it's perfect for occasional uses. It won't last him very long since he's so tall, but then it will be handed down to our two year old. However, she also likes playing on and on it - it does not "snap" open - so as soon as she bumps against it, it wants to fold up for storage. Doesn't stay flat unless the toddler is on - and he LOVES it. It is rather uncomfortable so I had to order a plush/padded fitted sheet for it. It would be perfect for kids 2-5 years old. didn't work for my 2 yr old February 7, 2017 I bought this for an extra bed for my grandson at my other residence where I occasionally stay. He would not stay in it. He sleeps in a toddler bed, so I thought this would suffice. Not for him. I pulled the crib mattress out of the crib and put it on the floor and he crawled on it and went straight asleep. While there is not a bar in the middle it is more taut than the upper and lower part, which may have made a difference to him. I'm still hoping that he'll sleep on it when we travel...that's why I left it at 3 stars. Time will tell on that. I've ordered some bars to go on a bed that I can travel with in case he won't sleep on this cot. Cute, but my kid wouldn't sleep in it. August 15, 2015 When I first took this out and set it up for my almost 3 year old daughter, she was thrilled. She got her new Frozen blanket and laid down on it - even watched a movie while resting on it! I was excited to have an option for us to bring on an upcoming road trip where she didn't have to share a bed with us and kick/head butt us all night. We did a test run the night before we left...unfortunately she woke up in the middle of the night and I came in to find her half off the bed. It is a small bed and doesn't leave much room for a kid to even turn over (and most kids I know toss around a lot at night), so she kind of fell off. I brought it on our trip anyway, with high hopes, but unfortunately she couldn't get comfortable with it. When I put the sheet on that came with it, the whole thing folded in, so I just used some larger sized crib sheets we had at the house (they worked well size-wise). It is canvas, so I wanted to put a few layers on there so I put a sheet and then a blanket and then had her lie on top. She loved it until bed time and then couldn't stay on and couldn't get comfortable. I think this could be great for resting in front of TV (or nap time?) or even to have on the beach or something, but as a bed for trips...no go. It does fold nicely and looks really cute... A little to uncomfortable without some kind of padding March 28, 2014 For the money it's a great travel bed. No one wants their child sleeping on the floor and sometimes it's great for when they just want to sleep in your room but not necessarily with mom and dad. The biggest problem I have with it is the fact that it has no padding. I bought a twin memory foam mattress topper and cut it down and put a crib sheet on it. Works much better. Another problem we have with it is; my daughter is only 24 pounds and 2 years old (and loves this thing), but where the beds center supports are have already torn and had to be repaired. But, for $24.00 +/-, it does it's job just fine. No problems with folding or unfolding. I lay down on it once with her and I'm around 150 lbs. and it barely gave. May 30, 2017 As my three-year-old twins tried to lay down in them, the cots would not stay flat and the mattresses sagged. They got very frustrated and could not get up from them. They kept crying to get out. broke on the first use May 5, 2017 i had high hopes for this, and my son loves it, dont get me wrong. what i hate is that the very first time he laid on it (he weighs 31lbs) a stabilizing joint broke off from the folding legs. it still works, but i was disappointed to have it break within minutes of setting it up and being gentle with it. Not that durable. March 10, 2017 Great size. I like how it collapses. But the build quality doesn't stand up to much. It says "do not jump on" but my 3 year old can't read... so if you have a rambunctious toddler get something a little sturdier. Ours now tilts to the side b/c of said child. First use: perfect. Second use: scary for kids. December 20, 2016 First use: perfect. Second attempt: the cot folds itself up when no one is holding it down by actually lying on it. The way it moves on its own is super scary for the toddler whose "bed" it is supposed to be. No one dares sit on one end as pictured. It behaves better without the sheet. My guess is that in its second washing, the sheet shrunk just enough to no longer fit just so. So not OK. As others have said, this cot desperately needs a simple locking mechanism. The surface of the cot is like a light canvas -- not an ideal sleeping feel, but acceptable. I'll ask my grandson use the cot for one more visit without the fitted sheet, then throw we'll the the whole thing away since the surface can't be laundered and I am not a gifted enough tailor to create a new sheet to fit just so. The downsides: 1) Cheaply made, the bottom pole bent when she fell on it by accident (now this is a two year old 25 pounds) that didnt seem reasonable for a pole to bend and mess up the whole cot, 2) it doesnt have a locking mechanism when opened, so when you open it make sure your child does not play around with it because he/she could get her fingers caught in the poles beneath, 3) you can actually feel the bars when you lay down on it (i would need to put a thick blanket ontop just for her to be comfortable). If your looking for something cute, compact and for short term for a child who doesnt fall or jump on things then this is def. for you! Works great for naps at grandmas where there's no room for ... My son loves it!***Update after 7 months of useMy son (2.5 y/o and 30 lbs) has used this twice a week at grandma's house for nap time for 7 months, and it has been great up until yesterday. Yesterday, he sat up (putting his weight on one end of the cot) after waking up from his nap and the rivet that holds the cross bar together on that end bent, causing the cot to drop closer to the floor on that end. It had probably been wearing down for a while since that's typically the end/side he climbs in on, putting all his weight on one spot momentarily. But this cot was not misused and he is well below the weight limit! I was upset to hear from Regalo that there is only a 90 day warranty and that they do not back the product. Having only paid $25 for it, I am not too upset, but will not purchase it again. I will try to fix it myself and hope we can get a few more months out of it. I think it will only last if a the child's weight is equally distributed at all times...it doesn't seem to be able to withstand 30 pounds on one end. Would not recommend. I've had this for less than 30 hrs for my 7 yr old who weighs less than 50 lbs. he has not jumped on it or abused it in any way but already three of the pins that hold it together have fallen out. It appears they should be crimped or have a rivet type end that holds the washer on but they are not expanded enough to hold the washer on. the fram easily bent under my daughters 24lbs...
