Five Star Reviews: | 24% Using it regularly and very pleased September 18, 2017 I'm using this all the time. I love pasta but always hated not being to portion it more precisely. First world problem, admittedly, but this guarantees predictable results. Fun Gadget September 25, 2016 what a fun way to teach portions to your children. Thanks for a great kitchen gadget. Spaghetti just as much as you want... January 15, 2015 Does just what it's supposed to do. Easy to use and high quality. I'll deal with this vendor again. | 69% I do like the stainless steel and now not having way too ... December 29, 2016 Had trouble having consistent amount of noodles made. This helped. It is hard to get all the noodles to fit into the round hole though. I use to have one that laid flat on the counter and you just filled it. I do like the stainless steel and now not having way too many noodles or not enough, though.I gave it 5 stars since it does what it is supposed to. Just not the easiest to fit the noodles into it, as I indicated. GREAT little kitchen tool! June 10, 2016 After 40 years of thinking I really didn't need this kind of kitchen gadget, I succumbed and bought one. You get what you ordered! Shiney stainless steel, accurate measures for portions, flat and smooth! Stores easily in a utensil drawer or countertop holder, it takes up zero space. Perfect little gift to toss in a gift basket for anyone going off on their own or starting out. I will be buying this again and again as a gift tag or stocking stuffer... great little kitchen tool! It is nice and heavy duty and I am sure it will ... January 10, 2016 I bought this as a gift for the wife as she has been asking for one. She loves it! It is a lot easier for her to measure out how much we need for us. It is nice and heavy duty and I am sure it will last us a long time. It took a little while to come in which was expected, but it came well packaged in an padded envelope. Love It May 5, 2015 I love this pasta measuring gadget to show me exactly what a portion of pasta consists of. Just eyeing portions is deceiving and this for me is very helpful in reminding me just how much pasta I was consuming by just estimating it myself. Its really a great kitchen gadget to add to your collection. No more guessing at spaghetti portions December 23, 2014 Why does it seem so hard to figure out how much spaghetti to make when you're taking it out of the box? I have no idea but I never seem to gauge my spaghetti portion correctly. This tool makes it easy to make sure you are choosing the right portion size so you dont make too much or too little. After my sisters found out I had this they said they always have the same problem too so I got one of them!! If you want to make sure you're portion sizes are accurate and not overeat or make too little even, this is the perfect solution to the spaghetti cooking problem! Exactly what I expected August 9, 2013 I'm never good at guessing pasta portion sizes with dry pasta so I ordered this gadget to help me out. I used it to measure spaghetti for one to test it. The portion side was perfect for pasta as the main dish but twice as much as I would want as a side dish. It's high quality stainless and should last for years. As with stainless lined dishwashers, I would never use dishwasher soap that contains lemon. It will discolor stainless over time. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 24% Handy little device July 23, 2016 Spaghetti Pasta Limiter Noodle Measurer Portions Controller Tool AdjustableThe tool seems well built, it is less expensive via this seller but it ships from China so it takes much longer to get. It's pretty handy as it can be hard to estimate how much pasta you should be using at any given time without something to help. Anyway, it's not a bad product and it doesn't take up much room so if you are interested, go for it. sturdy, and functional June 23, 2016 Small, sturdy, and functional. I would recommend this product to anyone who's had trouble measuring correct portion sizes for noodles. Great for everyone, not those dieting. April 28, 2016 It is easy to measure how much pasta to use when it is composed of small noodles, but measuring spaghetti is difficult. This takes out the guess work and makes everyday portioning simple. Great price, great idea, great product. Super. Slow. Shipping February 20, 2016 22 days from order to doorstep. And it's a lot smaller than I expected, even though the pictures show (tiny?) hands holding it. but at that price it's fun to December 30, 2015 Probably don't use it as much as I thought I would, but at that price it's fun to have | 17% Well-made, but portions larger than recommended by the FDA October 26, 2016 Nicer than I expected. It's sturdy, well-polished, with no scratches or sharp edges. Even better, there aren't misspellings, as there so often are on low-cost imported goods. It looks like it'll be indestructible (barring harsh dishwasher detergent) and will likely outlast us all. That said, the holes are sized for 4-oz. portions, not the 2-oz. portions that the FDA currently recommends. (Italian cookbooks publicized before the obesity epidemic routinely gave 4 oz. as the standard portion size.) If you're eating pasta as a side dish, along a with portion of chicken, fish, or other protein, 2 oz. is about right. If the pasta is the main course, most people will find 2 oz. a little scanty. This measure should be seen as just a rough guide for spatially-changed cooks to be more consistent in measuring portions from meal to meal, rather than as a tool for cooking the nutritionally "correct" amount of pasta, and users will need to adjust for the serving sizes they want. If you're following a diet, you'd be better off using a scale, which would work well for all types of pasta, not just spaghetti. Also, bear in mind that most of the calories from pasta dishes are from the sauce rather than from the pasta itself, and that Americans generally serve pasta with far more sauce than Italians do (the same is true for pizza toppings). Now my dog won't get fat from all the extra ... October 6, 2016 Now my dog won't get fat from all the extra pasta I mistakenly cook. I've been looking for this for a while and it's definitely worth the drawer space...and the money. Spaghetti Measure allows us to finally only make just enough pasta. March 28, 2016 My wife ordered these because every time we make spaghetti, we have to hold a spaghetti banquet dinner to get rid of the leftovers. Now we are able to make enough just for the two of us, and not a family of 12! Great invention and I like that it is steel instead of plastic. August 23, 2015 My husband is Italian so we eat a lot of pasta. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it would be great if someone could find a way to make it where it fits over a box of spaghetti and it goes right through easily instead of my having to get out the amount I think will fit in the hole and add or subtract by eyeballing it. Gives servings in grams, packaging arrived folded July 20, 2011 This seems to do the job; if you know how many grams of pasta equal your typical serving size (I suggest trial and error) then it works just fine. The writing on the packaging is in Asian characters, not English, but the engraved serving information on the device itself is in English, in portions of 100-400 grams. I bought it as a gift for someone and the packaging was folded to fit into the envelope so it's not as presentable as I'd hoped, and the recipient won't be able to read it. I don't imagine they'll be keeping the packaging or needing instructions for use though. A little larget than expected, but serves its purpose February 8, 2011 In no way should this be used to gauge recommended nutritional dietary portions...its more of a ball park figure of how much pasta you should cook depending on how many people you have for the meal. I say this because it's slightly larger than the recommended dietary portion...no biggie, but for calorie conscious people this is not for you. The measurer was a lot larger than what i though it would be (length & width wise)...it's roughly the size and width of an office stapler...it seemed smaller judging from the picture. But it is very solid and sturdy and well constructed. Overall, it serves its purpose for a good guesstimate of how much pasta to cook and despite it being slightly larger than expected, it will still fit in your storage drawer...but BUYER BEWARE for diet conscious types...this is NOT the item you want for measuring proper portion size. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 24% Decent kitchen gadget February 12, 2016 Received as a stocking stuffer. I have used it once and it seemed accurate. I don't know that it's totally necessary but it's low cost and doesn't take up much room so why not. It's ok. It is kind of hard to measure ... September 6, 2015 It's ok. It is kind of hard to measure the pasta this way. Getting it through the hole takes some planning but it works out well just OK June 1, 2015 Took over a month to be delivered. Not sure how accurate it really is, but I no longer take a wild guess on the amount to make. | 7% What the heck are the serving sizes September 6, 2016 I'm confused because the serving size holes don't match up with the ones on the back of the pasta box Eh, not so great October 14, 2015 The serving sizes seem to be too large. For my husband and I, the 2 serving slot is too big if I were to fill it completely. I don't really love this item but I still use it as a general guide. I am still usually making a bit too much and occasionally too little pasta because it is not accurate. Difficult to use, but quality product July 27, 2015 Quality made; a little difficult to use for measuring pasta, but it works. Don't like the serving size labels. January 6, 2015 Would be better if it gave measurements by oz rather than serving size. I can't tell whose definition of serving size they're using. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 12% Serving measurements are wrong. April 20, 2015 Their measurement for how much pasta equals two servings, for example, feeds three adults easily (and there was still a little bit left over after the extra plate). | 2% It's made from pretty flimsy metal April 19, 2016 It's made from pretty flimsy metal. It would bend very easily and is so thin, you could probably cut yourself from it (although that's not high risk). It works fine and as described, I was just expecting something of a high quality material. Serves its purpose to measure noodles- just didn't like that it didn't look brand new December 9, 2015 Came scratched in the mail. One Star Reviews: | 16% | 5% DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY September 4, 2016 DON'T waste your money. The holes are too large and DO NOT represent standard serving sizes of spaghetti. A standard serving size of dry spaghetti is 2 oz but the serving hole marked 1 holds more than 4 oz. PLUS seller will NOT refund money. It was covered in scratches like it had been used August 29, 2016 It was covered in scratches like it had been used. Also, "measure" was spelled "measere" on its face. Kind of silly, but for a few bucks, it does its job as a pasta measure. FOUR servings fit in the ONE serving hole. September 9, 2015 The size of this thing is completely ridiculous. A box of Barilla spaghetti is 8 servings, but half a box fits through the smallest hole. That's *four* servings in the *one* serving hole. Nope! This useless hunk of metal is going in the recycle bin. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
