Only 2 days use and very happy!
July 14, 2017
I've only had it for 2 days now, but it is pulling a lot of water from the air. It's not that loud with fan set to normal, you can hear it more set on turbo. But no worse than a box fan on high. Extremely amazing of how much water it is pulling from the air in my house, brought it down from 65% to 50% (what I had it set to). I emptied it last night before bed and it was full this morning when I got up. Thinking about hooking up the continuous drain now.I will update if any thing comes up, very happy at 2 days in!
Love the Digital Display!
May 25, 2017
This unit has been running continuously in our basement since we purchased it a month ago. The 70 pint tank fills up in about a day and a half, but it comes with a hose attachment, and we will be purchasing a hose that we will run to our floor drain. My favorite feature is that the unit displays what the humidity is in the room on the digital display. This allows us to monitor the moisture level in our basement to ensure that it stays below 50% humidity.
Dependable and no leaks (but replaced supplied stiff clear internal tubing)
March 9, 2017
Works perfect and didn't have any of the leakage issues of others when connecting up an external hose for drainage. When preparing the dehumidifier to use an external drain hose, I did notice that the clear tubing supplied to connect from their external fitting to the internal drain outlet (inside and above the internal drain bucket) was stiff (PVC?) and looked like it not conform to the fittings very well.....so I replaced it with a softer clear hose (silicone) I had in the shop.

Before this my house was so moldy, we struggled to get rid of the mold and the last dehumidifier I had helped nothing. After purchasing this the mold went away. We haven't had any spots of mold on anything. I would go with this again in a heart beat.
Saved our home after the floods!
October 25, 2016
These saved our home after the floods here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana! We are super pleased with how well these work and how easy they are to operate! They literally pulled all the extra moisture out of our home during the dry-out phase, and we were super happy to have them as quickly as we did. They arrived on time and were ready to go out of the box. You literally just plug it in and pick your selection, and it's up and running. They are quiet and put out minimal exhaust heat. They are easy to clean and to maintain. We are super happy and were grateful to have these when we did because again, they helped truly save our home! Keep up the great work, and thank you very much for the fantastic product!
Done great to keep mold out of the bathroom that has ...

5/2017 - Two years of owning this with almost daily use. It does heat up a room while it is running. It shuts off the compressor when it senses the relative humidity has fallen below the user specified level and keeps the fan running. Usage habit was to run it pretty much every day for 3-7 hrs after showering. Not sure of the electricity cost per month running it this way.Still trucking away with very little maintenance. I have had to clean the air filter, the grey bar in the front lifts out reveling lint. Easy to rub off outside or use a sink sprayer to help get rid of it.Leaving the water in the bottom reservoir for a week or more developed a brownish gunk. It came off with some elbow grease, a sponge, 409 cleaning solution, and soap. Not worried whatever it was.5/11/2016 - Had this for a year. Done great to keep mold out of the bathroom that has no vent. I carry it down to the basement whenever water leaks in. I have had to wash and wipe the tank after it started mildewing. Don't leave the water standing in there for several days and you should be able to avoid mildew.

Workhorse on a hot/humid summer
July 24, 2017
Purchased for unfinished, uninsulated, forced-air conditioned/heated basement, 800 SF.Purchased to replace similar SPT model which died after 2 years (ugh).Has been operating continuously for 3 months through a hot/humid mid-Atlantic summer - works like a champ. Started it on the High speed setting to reduce the existing humidity (2 weeks or so) and then set it on the Low speed. It is set to 45% RH.It is relatively quiet, and the noise is not very disruptive. It has an audible beep when the bucket is full - I never hear itIt is heavy (as you would expect with any equipment with a compressor/condenser), but has good handle placement and it has wheels. It exhausts cool/dry air on one side, which I use to help dry out wet items (thereby putting more humidity into the room!)My only regret is that I didn't buy a larger capacity unit, as I need to empty the bucket twice a day. Fully aware that the conditions in the basement are conducive to high-humidity levels. Have NOT operated this in the winter time to see howThis unit can be set up for continuous drainage, which I may consider in the future - will need to mount it on a wall and drain it into a utility sink, or into the HVAC condensate pump.Good design details: sturdy and easy-to-use handles to lift the unit. Easy to use touch-screen, with range of settings. The bucket has an interior handle for carrying, and when full of water, the handle/bucket is well balanced.Quirks: the bucket removal is a little bit tricky, as the finger grasps are minimal. Emptying the bucket can be a bit splashy, as the bucket has several internal parts, profiles/corners, etc, which cause a bit of splash when emptying. There is a sweet spot for pouring, which I figured out after a few emptyings. We like to reclaim the bucket water for filling our top-loading washing machine, so it forced me to be more precise with emptying the bucket.I'll try and remember to give an update over the winter.
Very efficient & effective for motorhome in muggy Florida. Great digital controls, good value. Highly recommend.
December 29, 2016
Bought for use in motorhome in muggy Florida. Knocks down the humidity quickly in this confined space (~200 sq ft). Solidly constructed, easy to hook up standard garden hose (remnant) for continuous draining, nice digital controls & indicator. Unit draws less power than many competitors, and does essentially go into low-energy idle mode when target humidity is reached until it needs to turn itself back on. Remembers settings even after switching off. Fairly quiet yet decent air flow. Exhaust can warm up the space but this is typical. Purchased from Amazon's Warehouse section for greater savings, came packed as new, no regrets.
Perfect size for apartments.
July 6, 2016
Love it! I had one of the smaller tabletop dehumidifiers and it was a total waste of money. I live in a 700 sqft apartment and this Frigidaire is the perfect size. I'm filling up a full tank in less than 8 hours! I'm talking what seems like a gallon of water! Unreal. With my the tiny table top I was barely getting a cup every couple days. It has three fan settings and on the lowest it's barely noticeable, the highest is more than tolerable as well but I only ran it initially to get my humidity down then switched it back to low which has been more than enough to maintain. The wheels make it super convenient to move around where needed and the fan speed is MORE than enough to circulate the entire air in the apartment through the unit. The humidity setting couldn't be easier, simply select the percent humidity you want in the air and it automatically brings it down to that level then shuts off and only switches back on when it senses a rise in humidity again. It kicks right on when I have the bathroom door open taking a shower. It came with the attachment for hooking a hose for constant draining but for my needs simply emptying the bucket (which has a handy flip up handle) is more than suffice. A beep alerts you when it's time for the empty and the unit shuts off. I have thought about sticking it in the bathtub with the hose if I ever had to take a long trip and letting it just drain down the drain until I get back.All-in-all for the price you can't beat it. Don't waste your money on the smaller table tops and just go ahead and pull the trigger on this unit. The level of control and comfort this will give you will make it more than worth the price you paid.
In shock! Simply Amazing
September 2, 2015
I live in a small 1 bedroom apt. in S Florida and humidity has been a big problem which has gotten worse. My bathroom has no windows or exhaust fan and the wife takes long showers with extremely hot water IMO. Mold started to appear on the ceilings and growing on stuff inside closets and drawers, everywhere.I received this unit, put in the hallway sucking air from the bathroom, went to the store, came back an hour and 20 mins later and found more than 4 pints of water already accumulated in the tank. This thing makes a HUGE difference, the air inside is now much dryer, towels dry hanging.CONS: People taking out stars and complaining about the frequency the bucket needs to be emptied, use a hose or get a bigger one!

This dehumidifier works great. Much quieter then the one I had to replace that quit working. Really easy to remove the full bucket and carry to the sink to dump. A full container isn't that heavy, about 13.5 lbs, to carry with the single handle and to dump. I have a very large basement that had a high humidity of 60-70% or so it would fill the 13.1 container pints within the day, 12-24 hours. That is a lot of water it is pulling out of the air. My wife complained about mildew smell in the basement that she couldn't stay in there long. We would also get white mold on the stuff in the basement. I have read that you should keep the humidity below 50% (set to 40-45%)if you don't want mold so I set it on 45% relative humidity and after about a week of use it brought our very large basement to 45-50%. It does feel a lot drier and should eliminate the mold. I highly recommend this. It just really easy to use and works great. Nice and quiet too, about the same noise as a small window a/c unit running. When the basement is cool (60's) the humidity is low and the unit runs but don't pull much water. It works best in warmer weather (70's) which is when the humidity is high and mold can grow, warm and moist. So, I only run it during the spring and summer months to save electricity cost.I used the bucket for about 2 weeks to try it out and then I switched to the continuous drain tube which I connected a piece of clear vinyl tube (1 1/4 inch outer dia, 1 inch inner dia) from Home Depot which I connected to a "T" connector that I installed on my A/C condensation line that runs outside. Since it is only gravity drain (no pump) I had to place my dehumidifier above the drain connection. I could have used a short piece of water hose but I like the clear tube so I can see that the water is flowing so I can check to make sure it is working. See pictures.
Excellent dehumidifier! Can't go wrong with this one!

I needed another dehumidifier after our previous one was recalled for a fire hazard. After researching and reading the reviews, I went to order the Frigidaire, and a newer model was available as indicated by Amazon's website. So I ordered the newer model and currently have it in our finished basement. So far, I'm very pleased with the unit. It's very easy to setup and operate. Has a extremely sturdy handle on the top, which can slide down and hide out of the way. The handle is great when you need to lift it a little to roll it around on the wheels. I set the humidity setting to 45% and have emptied the water holder a couple times. The fan shuts off and a little white light on the front at the top will flash to let you know it's full. Very easy to empty. Once empty, pop the water holder back in, and it starts right back up. One thing caught my attention; the fan seems to run all the time. This is not really a big thing for me, just a little unexpected. I thought maybe it would shut off when the right humidity level was obtained, but that's ok. The air coming out the side is a little warm, and with it being in the basement, it does seem to keep the chill off the rooms. Guess that can be looked at as a bonus. Overall, if you're needing a dehumidifier, you can't go wrong with this one..UPDATE (4.16.15): I have this unit (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013BKDO8/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_5) in the basement monitoring the humidity. After a couple days, it indicated the humidity was low. I adjusted the humidity setting upward on the Frigidaire. Next time I went down to check on the unit, the fan was NOT running and the water holder was NOT full. I stand corrected on the fan never shutting off.

Good slightly lower cost option

Have been using product nearly a month and have been pleased. 2 things kept it from getting 5 stars. #1 settings for the desired humidity level were difficult to understand, even with directions. I haven't figured it out yet but it runs and fills so I'll revisit later. #2 tank is a bit difficult to get back in after emptying. You get used to it after a while but it's harder than other models I've had. I have this in a finished walkout basement and it really pulls in the moisture. So much in fact that I'm questioning how long my last unit had been faulty. It doesn't seem to throw off as much heat as others I've had
Ordered 2 - 1 Good, 1 Bad
February 17, 2017
Purchased these humidifiers to replace an older ones. Ordered 2 from Amazon Warehouse Deals:-- One has worked very well: It is quiet when running, humidity sensor works well (I had a stand alone humidity sensor next to it for comparison) and easily maintains my desired humidity level.-- The other one, however, had a faulty humidity sensor - it gave the wrong reading, fluctuated wildly (watching it for 5 minutes it displayed from 40% to 80% humidity). It also cycled off and on repeatedly and was very loud when running. Amazon took it back as expected though. I have ordered another to replace - hoping it will be like the first one above.
Great value, works fantastic with a condensate pump. Get the extended protection plan!!!!!!!

All the small dehumidifiers I have owned seem to last anywhere from 1 to 5 years, but usually around 3. The features and warranty support are the most important things to consider, in my opinion. I have a small machine shop in Florida, with very high humidity. The dehumidifier helps the air conditioner work better, keeps my machine tools from rusting, and makes the room more comfortable. It is on all the time, but typically the compressor only runs 1-2 hours a day. I connected mine to a "Little Giant 554425 VCMA-20ULS" automatic condensate pump, which pumps the collected water though a hose and out into my yard so I don't have to empty the tank, ever. More about this below. This unit is a good value for the money. Some people don't like the position of the air flow output. They prefer units that blow the air out the top instead of the side, thinking that is more efficient. Not me. This unit draws the air in from the front and blows it out the side, at an upward angle. It doesn't effect the efficiency, but it makes cleaning the filter easily. On this unit I just lift the filter up out of the top of the unit, no covers to move, easy access, and I don't have to move the unit. With other units I owned previously I had to move tools out of the way or roll the unit out to where I could access it better, remove the tank, then remove the filter from inside the tank opening, what a pain. This is the second unit like this I purchased. The first one died after about 10 months, like I said before it is just the luck of the draw. I contacted the warranty people, they were friendly and easy to reach. They had me cut the last 6 inches off the power cord and snail-mail it to them along with the labels off the back of the unit, and sent me a check. I couldn't expect it to be any easier. I really like this unit and would buy it again.Okay, for those of you "handy" people who want to know how, the only complaint I have seen about using this with a condensate pump is that if the pump stops working the dehumidifier will keep filling it until it overflows. I solved this easily. The dehumidifier has a float switch to turn it off if the bucket is full. The pump has a 'safety float switch' that can be wired to an alarm. If you take the back off the dehumidifier you can remove the wires from the float switch, extend them, and plug them into the safety switch of the pump (not the regular float switch). If the pump stops running, when the water in the pump gets high enough it activates the safety switch. Since that is now wired to the dehumidifier, the dehumidifier thinks it's tank is full and turns off. Now all I ever have to do is occasionally clean the dehumidifier filter, the rest takes care of itself.About the pictures: As you can see, access in my shop isn't great. The gray bar on top of the unit is the filter, just pull it straight up. Behind the unit is the condensate pump. The drain hose from the dehumidifier empties (by gravity) into the condensate pump tank. The pump has a hose that goes to a pipe and out through the wall into my yard, the other hose attached to the pipe is my compressor drain. The black power cord is for the drain pump, the gray cord is the dehumidifier, and the brown speaker wire connects the safety switch in the pump to the dehumidifier, in place of it's own float switch. The brown mess on the floor is from a recent compressor oil leak I haven't cleaned up yet, not related to the dehumidifier or pump.Update: this unit lasted 16 months, like I said before, it's a crapshoot. But the 2 year extended protection plan I bought for under $20 paid for itself. I called Asurion, told them it broke, they credited me $190.79, that is full price even after 16 months of use! I didn't need to send them anything or prove it was broken, they sent me an Amazon gift card credit by email in under 30 minutes! You can't beat that with a stick.... Just used my gift card to order another identical unit.
So far so good; it does it's job well but loud and heats the room a bit.
May 30, 2015
I just used this so far less than a day, so I will update more after I've used it for a longer period of time.I have no prior experience with dehumidifiers. I have allergies such that my allergist advised an RH in the house of between 30 to 40% or 45%. In rainy times, the humidity in my house is getting up to 60%! I bought this to help dry the air out a bit in a downstairs office/bathroom combo. The unit is fairly large. I know it depends on the person, but on me, it comes above my knee and is about as wide as I am. It's nice that it's on wheels so it's easy to move around. It seems to do it's job very well. The RH when I turned it on was around 55%. 5 hours later, the RH had gone down to 35% to 40%. 12 hours later, it's stayed between 35 - 40%. I think I have it set to get it down to 35%, which it does, then it goes off kind of. It makes a noise like something goes off, but the fan has stayed on. The bucket is about over 3/4 full now at 12 hours, so I emptied it as it states the unit should stay on the first 24 hours you run it.It's slightly awkward to empty the bucket and put it back in. The bottom isn't flat. It's also slightly difficult to line up to put it back in. Meanwhile, the water is still condensing some, so you will notice it dripping and puddling in the bottom of the unit. I take a towel and wipe that up before I replace the bucket. The unit is much louder than I expected. I wouldn't want it running all the time.In addition, the unit throws out a lot of heat! That surprised me, but makes sense once I realized how it works.Update: I have been using this unit for a month and a half now, and it does a great job. It added about $30/month to my electric bill when I was using it a lot due to lots of rain, but I am using it less and less as the rains are subsiding. It can really pull water out of the air fair quickly in the small bedroom/bathroom area I have it in. I can now empty it quickly and more easily as I've gotten used to it. I'm very pleased with it so far.Update 11/22/2016: I am still using this unit, and am still very pleased with it.
Happy with it
July 15, 2014
I've waited a couple of months after activating this unit to write a review; I wanted to have this thing operational for a while before evaluating it. I can now say that this is a very capable dehumidifier and I'm happy with it. I have an unfinished basement of around 1500 sq ft. This unit has been in operation during a very wet Midwestern spring, and has easily kept the basement at my 50% target. It is relatively quiet, compared to the unit it replaced. It has ample power for this large space, as evidenced by the fact that it cycles on and off--it doesn't need to stay on constantly to keep the space at 50% humidity, in spite of the amount of rain we've had in N. Illinois this year.My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the interface is a little quirky and takes some getting used to. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. If I were rating primarily on value it would be a solid 5, because it's an excellent value.
Good once it works
June 14, 2014
Just bought this off of Amazon in the last month after reading reviews on it. Plugged it in for the first time, it beeped but when I tried to turn it on by pressing the Power Button, nothing happened. I opened the drawer and it beeped and showed a display indicating the drawer was open so I knew the board had power.Being an electrical engineer, I decided to get to the bottom of why the thing wouldn't turn on by pressing the power button. I opened up the unit and found on the top user interface circuit board that it was full in position as one of the tabs that holds it in was on the opposite side of the board from where it should be. I figured it would be an easy fix, so I pulled out the two screws holding it in and then put the board in how it should be placed, but still no luck. I then took a look at the board and found that R47 and R57 both had no solder on the outside vias that they were running to. I took a screwdriver first and found that if I made a good connection, the power button would work. I then soldered these up and the unit has been running ever since. Seems like a decent product, but the company may need to look into their manufacturing process a little more and fix these issues. Anyway, if anyone else has one that the power button doesn't always work, this may be why.It otherwise is a quiet product and is doing the job I expect.

but cleaning that put it right back into perfect running. Instructions suggest running full-time (instead if auto ...
September 20, 2017
This is dehumidifying our basement in the Midwest. Our previous GE dehumidifier worked well, too, but we emptied it by hand instead of hooking it up to drain into the pump that the central air conditioner drains into. Since that one turned off when full, had been a little damp and musty from time to time. When it died, we purchased this one and have it running continuously with auto drain. A bit of lint? got in the hose once, where it filled up the bucket and stopped, but cleaning that put it right back into perfect running. Instructions suggest running full-time (instead if auto turn-off when correct humidity) will result in it lasting longer, as it won't be turning on and off which would wear it out. It got the best Energy Ratings, and I can't tell any difference in the electric bills, so guess it doesn't make any difference. However, I have noticed that it puts out noticeably quite warm air, which the other one never did, so the basement is not as cool as before. That's the only downside for me, since my pantry and medicines are stored in the basement for desired cool and dry atmosphere to last longer.
Don’t forget the Extended Warranty – but be aware
September 16, 2017
This Dehumidifier (FFAD7033R1) is my third since 2015 – the previous two both were replaced under warranty. They have all worked great – until they quit. The first lasted 12 months, the second 15 months. I don’t think it makes a lot of difference which dehumidifier you buy as most brands appear to all be manufactured by the same company, CD Midea Air conditioning in China (Reference – See the 2015 Recall notice for dehumidifiers). The best protection is to buy the extended warranty but here also I found it necessary to be careful. I purchased the 2 yr Ext warranty but the order confirmation from Assurant listed my purchase as a 1 yr Ext warranty. I contacted the company and was told it was a software error and they assured me that I had in fact a 2 yr extended warranty in addition to the 1 yr manufacturer’s warranty. I guess time will tell. The bigger question though is why these units have such a short lifetime?
Very good so far. Some issues, but I can deal with them.
August 3, 2017
Puts out a pretty good amount of water considering its reasonably compact size. This is also a fairly quiet unit even when running the fan on high. Unfortunately, the water container is awkward to remove. Better plan on spilling about a cup of water on the floor every time you empty the container. The water container is also a lot smaller than I had hoped for. I found that I have to empty it quite often. I ended up installing a permanent drain through the wall to the outside. The connector extension they provide is flimsy and it sticks out of the side of the unit awkwardly. Its not attractive at all and I don't expect it to last very long. I went ahead and got some epoxy glue on standby to patch it back together when it breaks.
Good Dehumidifier, Heat output is minimal.
November 28, 2016
Does a good job without putting out a ton of heat, saving electricity!! The timer is nice for short uses, so you don't forget to shut it off. Has a convenient handle on the catch bin (revealed when the tray is pulled out) to empty it. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that when you empty the catch bin, water pours out all over instead of just at the end that you want it to come out of- be sure to empty it over a large sink or tub if you don't want to get water all over. Amazon did send me notice of a recall on some Frigidaire dehumidifiers, but this WAS NOT one of the recalled models.
Works, but will cycle regularly regardless of humidity
October 26, 2016
This is the first de-humidifier I've ever used, so take that for what it's worth.First, this unit is installed in the basement of a vacation home in TN. I didn't think I'd have a moisture issue given where the house is built, but after several months of no occupancy, there was visible green dust-like mold on everything in the basement, and there was a very musty smell. After installing and running this unit for 4 straight days, I dumped about 25 gallons of water (bucket by bucket), and the musty smell completely went away. The air is noticeably drier (to the point I think I need chapstick).Knowing that the unit would be running unattended for months at a time, I installed the drain hose and verified that it was working just fine. I also ran the power cord through a z-wave appliance switch so I could remotely turn the unit on and off. As an added benefit, the appliance switch also has a power meter (think Kill-a-watt) feature that reports real-time power consumption. After the initial continuous operation, I switched to 50% on the humidstat. Feeling is was overly dry, I incrementally worked my way to 70%. I did not notice any significant difference in the cycling frequency or duration on any of the settings. It seems to run (fan and compressor) for about 3 minutes. Then fan only for about 3 more minutes. Then completely off for about 10 minutes... At which point it repeats. It'll do this whether it has been running for a week, or it's been off for 5 days. So, I set up my z-wave script to have the unit come on for 24 hours every Monday. I would have thought that after being off for a week, it would run continuously for several hours to dry out the air, but no, it's still only running for 3-minute intervals.Ultimately, I don't really care about the accuracy, precision or repeatability of the humidistat since I can remotely schedule the run time.As for power consumption, I've attached a couple of graphs that show actual consumption and run time. Since the house is vacant, it's baseline load is about 9kWH per day. When the unit is on for 24 hours (cycling as described above), the additional consumption is about 2.5kWH per day. My electricity cost is about 10 cents per kWH. Thus, 30 cents per day.Leaving it running 24/7 controlled only by its internal humidistat would run about $91 annually ($0.25 x 7 days/week x 52 weeks). With only one day per week, that comes out to $13/year - or just over a dollar per month.Obviously running it only one day a week might not be enough. Perhaps running it 4 hours per day would be better? I just don't know yet. Further, I'm sure certain times of the year will see higher/lower moisture levels. Still a lot of learning to do.
Works very well. It isn't quiet, but the noise is not maddening.
October 26, 2016
I've never owned a dehumidifier before. The noise level was an important consideration for me, and this one is said to be relatively quiet. Well, it is and it isn't. The fan is quite loud, even on low -- loud enough that I have to turn up the TV volume, and I can't hear myself typing on my phone. There is also a refrigerator type humming sound at times, but it's not annoying (and refrigerator sounds tend to annoy me).Fortunately, it does shut off eventually after it reaches the desired humidity level. Periodically it starts up again, but it doesn't run constantly. The humidity gauge seems to work fine. I bought a separate humidity monitor for comparison, and they give similar results. Keep in mind that the dehumidifier measures in increments of 5, so you can't set it for, say, 38 -- it has to be 35 or 40.It was easy to set up and start, although I wish it had a longer cord. I don't have a way to automatically drain it, but I find it easy to remove and empty the bucket. My unit arrived with some debris in the bucket, and I found it difficult to figure out how to remove the top to clean it (no instructions on this in the manual), but it can be done. One of the other reviewers explained how to do it (thank you for that), so I won't repeat it here. There is also a YouTube video that shows how to remove it.As other reviewers mentioned, the dehumidifier gives off a lot of heat and can warm the room noticeably. I'm concerned that's going to be a problem for me in summer, but we'll see. The dry air may help compensate for that.Overall: I was unsure about buying this because it's expensive and the reviews are contradictory, but it's working GREAT. If it lasts for several years without breaking, I will be a Frigidaire fan for life.

I have used this dehumidifier for about 3 years continuously ...
August 23, 2017
I have used this dehumidifier for about 3 years continuously on in the basement. Now the auto defrost feature is not working, so there are solid strips of ice that are forming at the bottom of the filter area. I would have rated higher if it didn't malfunction. I tried cleaning the filters so the problem seems to be that the auto defrost sensor is malfunctioning.
No replacement parts for drain hose connector
August 11, 2017
The dehumidifier works fine, but we must have misplaced the connector for a hose. The connector is placed in the water collecting bin so may have been set aside during set up. In any case, I can not find a source for parts for Keystone. I have tried to find parts that will fit at places like Lowes with no luck. I contacted the company that supposedly does maintenance for Keystone and have had no response. I'm disappointed that Amazon does not offer the specific replacement part. We travel frequently and the dehumidifier fills in 24 hours, so being able to have it drain to our sump pump is important. Keystone KSTAD70B 70 Pt. Dehumidifier
Does the job, but don't expect to sleep while it's on
February 24, 2016
This thing really does a great job of drawing moisture out of my basement. Does all I need and more in that department. The killer is that this thing can be ridiculously noisy. It occasionally sounds like the fan is REALLY out of balance, causing it vibrate in the most annoying way. It has even woken me from a dead sleep, and it's not even near my bedroom! I probably wouldn't buy again based on that alone.
water all over the place!
June 10, 2015
Great product BUT, when the red led indicates its full, beware because its FULL. the water level is at its maximum so it is barely imposible to make it out of the room or to the shower without spilling water all over the place.I will try the hose for continuos draining, but definitely this its a VERY BAD point of this dehumidifier. You always need to get a towel to clean the mess. Keystone please correct this!
Keystone Energy Star 70 Pt. Dehumidifier, KSTAD70B - I loved it until the sensor dislodged
December 8, 2014
Actually, I loved this dehumidifier...it did a fabulous time doing what dehumidifiers are supposed to do. When the clean filter light came on the first time my opinion changed. The filter was very easily removed and easily cleaned, but when I attempted to put it back in the unit I found that the sensor inside had dislodged. Of course it was under warranty and when I called to have it serviced the guy told me that there is a flaw in this particular dehumidifier (not sure if it is the entire brand or just this model), but apparently this happens all the time because of the position and place the sensor is installed. Unfortunately, I had just recycled (finally) the box the weekend before this happened so though it was free to ship to the service company in Florida I had to purchase the box ($18.00). So, don't get rid of your boxes people! Not sure what to think about the sensor issue. I still haven't gotten my dehumidifier back from being serviced so I don't know how long it will take or how good a job they will do. : (
does a good job
July 29, 2014
It does an excellent job clearing the humidity from the house the only problem was when I wanted to use the hose attachment it didn't work too well. It would work for a while and then all of a sudden it would just shut itself off and then I would have to pull the hose part back out and reposition it and then it would run for a few days like that then it would stop. I would have to reposition the hose again. Using it in an unfinished basement that I don't really go to everyday. But I do now because I have too go check hose and make sure it still working properly. The bucket thing is pretty flimsy. I have another brand dehumidifier that I use upstairs and it is much better quality. I would not buy this brand again even though it does do a good job but because of the issues using a hose.

There is a simple fix for the dreaded F0 error!
July 2, 2017
If you have one of these and got the dreaded F0 error this may help you. Having worked in HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) I decided to figure out what was wrong with mine. I removed the back cover: two screws at bottom rear, one at each side at bottom and two behind filter. The bottom two rows of the condenser were icing up and I had rusty water dripping into the tank. I removed the sensor from the holder and attached it to the elbow at the bottom. I held it on with a cable tie. It has operated with no F0 for over a year keeping the room dry.
Not sure yet...
March 31, 2017
Not sure about this yet. I started running it about a month ago on high and the humidity doesn't fall below 60%. My basement is 1200 sq ft and is open to the upstairs (no door). I should mention that I have hot water heat and no A/C, so no ducts, no air circulation. I do run a box fan on low in the back room of the basement just to circulate the air a little bit.I will see how it works during the damp season and maybe modify my post.I do believe it is operating correctly, about 50-75% full bucket each day. It is a 70 pint unit, but I'm sure that is at 100% saturated air at a certain temperature. It just seems like it should take more water from the air.It is much quieter than my last one.
Still great unit but old unit is better.
March 14, 2017
Older model is a 5 star champ. Latest revision has a modified drain system that requires installing the supplied extension tube when attaching external drain hose. Rather lame as the part seems easy to lose.Another flaw is this unit dumps about 3/4 cup water on the floor if you try emptying the bucket while its running. I have tried turning the unit off and tilting it in all directions prior to removing the bucket with no success. The only time it does not pour water out is if the bucket fills to the point the machine shuts down in its own.
good overall, badly designed details
September 26, 2016
Product works great in general, but there are some small things that are badly designed.First the good:- excellent for what it is supposed to do - removed humidity fast! The bad - minor annoyanceBadly designed back "grill" plastic makes too much noise due to vibrations. A simple rubber dampener would remove the annoying noiseThe scary bad part is ... the plastic connector for the external hose. First this part is useless and not needed, it is easy to mount the hose directly. The thread pf the plastic is bad and the hose would actually leak. THIS CAN RUIN YOUR FLOOR! (Yes, it is not the hose, I brought the part in a hardware store and tried all hoses)Please do yourself a favor and do not use this part. the product is otherwise good
Prefer previous model of this dehumidifier
August 2, 2016
Prefer the previoius model with the rear discharge for continous drain. This unit drains out the side and the plastic attachment that screws to the housing in the unit leaked from the beginning and was not repariable, even with teflon tape. This had to be removed and the discharge hose attached directly to the housing by removing the bucket. Still can not access to tighten the hose to the unit as tight as I would prefer due to the male part being imbeded in the unit but thus far is not leaking and any leaks would be caught in the attaches bucket below but will have to watch and make sure that does not fill up or would defeat the purpose of he continuous drain...
Now some would say that means it works awesome OR is it that the water bucket is too ...
July 30, 2016
This is ok, I paid $250 and a month ago and now see its 40 bucks cheaper. With that said, I would not buy this humidifier if you plan on manually emptying it. You will be making 3-5 trips to dump it per day and it gets old quick. Now some would say that means it works awesome OR is it that the water bucket is too small for the until. I had a Frididaire before this one was about 4 years old and it did the same job dehumidifying but the water collection bucket was twice as large as this one.

Filter not good!
September 15, 2017
This product is not that bad.The problem is the filter. After 2 months the filter with the heat that come from the dehumidifier start to like it kind of melt the plastic of the machine that make the filter to brake and then is hard to put it back in place. The filter is hard to find or replace it.I call different place it and cost to much and for only tow or three months of use,is not good.Sorry, Keystone, you have to make a better filter for this machine.I spend a lot of money on 2 and I'm not rich. One is went to the trash and the other is going behind soon.
Worked great for almost two years
April 27, 2017
Worked great for almost two years. Then the compressor would run continuously even if it was powered off. I called customer support. I told them what was wrong then they asked me for contact info. I asked what the process for repair is, and I was told after I emailed my proof of purchase in I would receive a refund. It sounds as if there's very little confidence in this product i.e., it's not worth repairing. I will definitely purchase a better brand for replacement.
Disappointed
August 31, 2016
I originally bought the Keystone 50 pt model for my basement, which is quite damp. I liked the 50 pt dehumidifier so much that I decided to buy in addition the 70pt for another part of my basement. However the larger model has a major vibration problem, so that it is quite loud (a loud rattling sound). Much, much louder than the 50pt one. I tried putting a heavy weight on it to dampen the vibrations, which only helped somewhat. I don't know if all 70pt models have this problem, or if only the one I received was poorly made. But I imagine that the vibrations over time will reduce the life the of dehumidifier. For something this expensive and difficult to return, my opinion is now to buy local.
Dead with the EC error after about 20 months
June 9, 2016
This de-humidifer worked great for about 20 months and then it died with the EC error check light issue. I called Midea, the manufacturer and they are sending me a decent refund because it does have a 5 year warranty on parts. My old de-humidifer lasted about 10 years. I don't recommend this unit. I just purchased a GE as a replacement. We'll see how long the GE lasts.
I May Have Just Got A Bad Machine.....Who Knows
February 15, 2016
Worked great for approximately one year in the basement. This unit removed some serious moisture at a fast rate. After about a year, the coils constantly iced over and an error message kept reading on the digital screen. Looked up the error code and found out it needed professionally serviced. I tried cleaning the coils myself as someone told me to do. Still no luck. It kept shutting off and showing the error code. It was out of warranty so I wasn't putting a dime into it. I believe others have had the same problem according to some reviews. This machine was well cared for and not abused either during my ownership. It just stopped working! I'll try another brand this year and hopefully it will last
May not last long
November 24, 2014
UPDATE: After storing in the basement for the winter, I hooked it back up. It would run for around 5 minutes before giving me an "EC" error code. After calling support, they told me the unit's refrigerant had leaked out and could not be fixed or replaced (through the manufacturer). The unit probably had 90 hours of run time on it. Thankfully, since it is under warranty Midea is going to refund me the amount I had purchased it for. The unit worked well when it was working... but lack of longevity and failure at the end of the warranty window is discomforting. At least the claim was easy.Original review:Great for the price, bought it for the basement and it went to work fast. After filling quickly (few times a day) which was expected when just starting to lower humidity down there, I hooked up the hose attachment and let it be all summer. Worked excellent and got the humidity down to acceptable levels. It moves air fairly well, and isn't too loud when running, but I wouldn't sleep in the same room with it.

Timer function useless
September 23, 2017
This is a very efficient dehumidifier but the advertised on/off timer is completely misleading. You have to set it every time, which makes the function completely useless. If it is on you can set it to turn off after up to 24 hours.... but then you have to manually turn it on again. So what's the point of this? The same with the auto on timer, set it to turn on after so many hours but again it won't turn off automatically. Using a separate timer doesn't work either as the power button has to be pressed once it's either on or off. Can't understand why this functionality couldn't be built in, such a simple thing.
Dysfunctional in 7 months
September 22, 2017
The positive side of this dehumidifier is that it is quieter than our previous Frigidaire FAD504 (which got recalled so we bought this one to replace it).Negatives:1. The unit became useless in about 7-8 month after we bought it. Before that, it used to work fine and took out a full bucket of water per day. Now it only produces about 1/5 of a bucket, which barely affects the humidity at all. The unit developed a weird behavior when it would randomly ramp up the fan and disengage the condensing unit so basically it just sits there and blows air most of the time. Changing threshold RH setting does not work so it is now a very expensive and loud fan. Thank you very much.2. The bucket is not as convenient to pull out as in our previous unit. You need to grab it with both hands, and emptying it for some reasons is more messy than that of the FAD504's due to some extra plastic on the top of the bucket.3. Water level indication is much worse. There is no floating mark, so you need to turn on the light or use flashlight to see the level. So looks like most of positive Amazon reviews are based on its performance right out of the box but long-term reliability is questionable. I would NOT recommend this unit.
Worked Great... for 2 Years
August 23, 2017
The Good:This dehumidifier worked great for 2 years... almost to the day. Drain hose functionality worked perfect. Humidity sensor seemed accurate. The Bad:After two years the F0 error began showing up. Unplugging and then plugging in seemed to get things going again. At first this would be good for a week, then a couple days, and then not even a day. I noticed more and more ice on the back cooling fins.More:I was using this in a basement of an air conditioned house in the midwest. Summer environment usually produced high humidity. I had burned through a few cheap $20-$50 dehumidifiers in years past. They would usually last about a season before becoming useless. I finally decided to get a nicer unit that I would not have to worry about. This Frigidaire filled that role nice at the start. The first year I just had to clean the filter and it kept pulling water from the air and putting it down the drain. During the second year things started to go downhill. Replaced at the 2 year mark. I cleaned the filter every six months when I replaced the furnace filter. I'm trying another brand's "higher end" dehumidifier to see if they do better before I go back to treating them as disposable.+1 star for working great the first year

June 26, 2017
I purchased this because I live in the south and have a hard time with high humidity during the summer months. The unit does pull a lot of moisture from the air, but the amount of heat that the unit puts out is significant. The whole reason I purchased this was to get rid of the "sticky"feeling in my bedroom so that I could sleep better. However since I purchased this I am hot every night. Unfortunately my ac unit is unable to keep my house cooled to my liking in the summer so this dehumidifier makes it even warmer. If heat is not an issue for you the unit works great. However if warm temperatures are a concern then I would think twice. I have decided the sticky feeling is better than being hot and have discontinued use of the dehumidifier after less than a week of use.
tank removal very difficult
May 29, 2017
Revised: every time we empty the tank, water spills because it is SO difficult to remove the tank. I must lean over the unit, put a hand on each side and pry the tank away from th unit, while not bring so forceful as to slosh water or tip over the tank.Changing my rating to two stars. Really want this to work and have had good experience with two 50 pint units...Bought as a replacement for a recalled 50 pint unit which was still working well after several years. Quieter and seemingly more efficient, but the difficulty of removing the tank is a neat deal breaker. You must pull from both sides (using two hands) from near the bottom. It is very awkward and difficult. I'm always concerned that water will slosh out because of the force required. The old 50-pint unit had a center handle near the top of the tank, which was fairly easy to remove. Wish this one functioned the same way.
Did not last, updated rating at 1 year 4 months
September 20, 2016
Had unit for 3 months, so far doing its job well. Overall real happy with it except built in thermostat is way off on mine, 20% off. I didn't realize this until I bought an external separate humidistat. Definately buy seperate humidostat. After that I adjusted the setting to compensate and its fine.Pros:looks good, quiet ( for a dehumidifyer), takes humidity down real fast, easy to drain, consistantCons:The thermostat is 20% off in mine. It reads 70% when humidity is actually 50% according to external seperate humidostat I bought.Side discharge makes placement limited. It seems to come on more than it has too.Noticable jump in my electric bill.I would buy again, assuming it will lastEdit: 9/14/17Did not last. Changed rating. Lasted 1 year 3 months. Ice formed on lower end . stoped taking mousture out. Was told ran out of refridgerant. I was weary when noticed rusting on all the side coils after about 4 months. Replaced with GE unit. Less than 1.5 years is insulting.

Leaked after 2 years
September 29, 2017
Keystone KSTAD70B 70 Pt. DehumidifierPurchased this May 15, 2015 and was totally satisfied with it until it started leaking August of 2017.The collection container does fill, but the unit leaks before it is filled to capacity & auto shuts off.The drain tube seems to be flowing fine into the collection container but I decided to clean it anyway.I took off the front panel to clean the drainage tube w some heavy gauge weed whacker wire, then sprayed canned air through it. With the front panel still off I vacuumed & moist wiped the grill (it was clean but did it anyway) and checked for damage/leaks in the water collection tray. I cleaned the filter too (I do clean it regularly).I put it all together and it still leaks a puddle that has to be mopped up every few hours. No complaints until it leaked. If it lasted longer before leaking I would have given it more stars but at a price of over $200 and only two years of working...I'm buying a NEW different brand dehumidifier now on amazon after I do a little research.

June 12, 2017
Bought this unit in may 2015 used it for 2 summers and worked fine but a little too loud. Now all I get is the dreaded EC message which means trash it as compressor will not start. only used for 4-5 months over 2 summers and my basement is not that damp as I have whole house HVAC system. Think again before buying this unit as it may work well at first but will not last!

January 4, 2017
Got this delivered to my door on a Friday. Literally the next day I got a recall notice and had to send it back. The most annoying thing about the whole transaction was that I had researched dehumidifiers to death and this was the one that got the best feedback and ratings!!! Ugh.
cheaply made
August 23, 2016
loud, very very very loud it is cheaply made and vibratesyou need to push stop and wait for a few minutes before pulling out the water bin our you will get water all over your floor, it drips after you hit stop!
Didn't even make it a year.
September 14, 2015
Had good luck with this unit until a couple weeks ago. Went to the basement and noticed it was not running and the letters EC were displayed. No power spikes, no water damage, not a hot or cold or overly humid environment. Service manual says to call for service when this code is displayed. Not good. Very disappointed. Reviews on here spoke highly of this product. I will to call the manufacturer to see if they will do something.

Didn't last 3 months. Don't buy it!
September 16, 2017
The quality of the product is really bad. I bought it on Jun 28, 2017. Today is September 16, which is fewer than 3 months. The product is showing the F0 error code and no longer distill any water in the tank. It just blows air and wastes electricity. No reset, no cure. Heard no one single instance that anyone has a fix from the company for the F0 problem. This is a heavy equipment and not that cheap. Return ends in a month, with a life time of just 3 months is just very very bad. I would not recommend anyone to buy it.
Would NOT Purchase again
September 15, 2017
Terrible, we've had nothing but trouble with it, purchased in July 2016, now replacing in September 2017. It's been acting up for months and now frosting up. We had a different brand for many years before this one and should have stayed with that same type of dehumidifier. Thank fully we bought the 2 year extended warranty on it. I am now filing a claim.
Purchase the extended warranty!!
July 5, 2017
Purchased FFAD7033R1 June 15 of 2016, unit failed July 4, 2017. All lights blinking in unison with accompanying "beep". Upon calling Fridgidaire customer service, they have no idea what the problem is and advised that "the best thing to do is to purchase a new one". In reading other reviews and jumping onto a few forums, this seems to be a common theme - very short lifespan. I will never purchase another Fridgidaire product due to poor quality control and inept customer service, and the replacement dehumidifier that I purchase will always have the extended warranty through Amazon from here on out.
JUNK
February 15, 2017
Only worked 6 months then quit running. Have repeatedly attempted under warranty to get repaired or replaced with zero success. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
Failed just outside warranty. Planned obsolescence.
September 30, 2016
I spent tons of time researching the best dehumidifier available. This one appeared to fit the bill. The price suggested it was built to a slightly higher quality standard than others. After owning it just less than 14 months, the unit now continually shows the error code "F0" on the control panel. Unplugging the unit (buttons do not function while the unit has the error) and plugging the unit back in allows it to run, usually for less than an hour before it faults again. The manual suggests to check outlet voltage - it is extremely stable at just over 120 V. The control board appears to be junk.Does not appear to be designed to be a long-lasting product. Appears to be built to fail just outside warranty (can you say planned obsolescence?) so you have to buy another one. Frigidaire will not be getting any more of my money.
BEWARE OF JUNK! Be advised that the CURRENT FRIGIDAIRE BRAND DOES NOT STAND BEHIND ITS JUNK!
June 1, 2016
We purchased this unit in May '15. It ran for about 4 months last summer, then I cleaned it and put it away for the winter. Upon starting the unit at the end of May this year, I noticed that it had stopped operating and was presenting an error code of "F0". The manual gave two things to check and said that you should unplug the unit and see if the problem persists. I did. The problem persisted. I called Frigidaire customer support. I was told that despite being days away from one-year from the purchase date when the problem presented, there was no relief. My only option -- "Buy another unit." Despite several attempts, the representative was unwilling to budge or allow me to speak to anyone else. We have purchased several Frigidaire appliances in the past, and they had good, useful lives. The company has changed. They are apparently selling junk with their nameplate, and they hide behind an inflexible warranty -- even with a long-term customer. We will not buy another item from this brand or its parent company.
