Hefty
December 4, 2016
Nice and shiny. The feet are just slightly uneven, so wobbles a little when you take the napkins out. It is heavy enough that it does not lift up when taking out napkins.
Good quality napkin holder
August 27, 2016
It's a simple item, so I will give a simple review. I needed to hold napkins in my kitchen. Fair enough, right? My main concern is that the napkin holder would be too light and fall over, or it would be too hard to pull them out and I would accidently pull them all out each time. This Napkin holder does neither of those things, so it is a 5 star in my book. A lot of the napkin holders I saw were $20, which seemed crazy to me for such a simple object. I am glad I found this cheap yet effective product.
Does exactly what it looks like it should at a great price!
August 16, 2016
Nothing bad to say about this napkin holder! It was reasonably priced and works just as it is supposed to! It holds a good amount of napkins so I don't have to refill it often. The silver finish goes great with the rest of my kitchen setup and there is no danger of the holder being wobbly or unstable as sometimes happens with the ball base.

Great design and price on this item! Goes wonderful with my other accessories in my kitchen and holds enough napkins to last for days. I would recommend this to others in the future. I have had this napkin hold for a few months and washed it several times without loosing any of the original shine that it came with which shows me that it is made very well. I will be buying more items like this to go in my kitchen to add to my collection as Amazon has never let me down.

Perfect napkin holder for those that have one of those chrome paper towel holders with the balls on the bottom. This matches perfectly and sits right next to it. Just what I was looking for.

This napkin holder is just what the picture shows, substantial, well balanced, fetching, large enough to hold napkins upright or folded over if you don't need as many on the table. The price was great and the shipping was, as always, quick.

Works Perfectly
July 3, 2017
This is excellent and works perfectly every time. My husband was very skeptical and thought it looked goofy but now loves it. No more messy/slouched napkins. Toddler can use it as well so only gets one napkin! Very impressed!
I didn't want to like it, instead I LOVE IT.

I did not want to like this. In fact, I wanted to hate it. I can be frugal about the oddest things and $19.99 seemed excessive for such a plain napkin holder. However, I needed something relatively plain for the living room area (we spend a lot of time eating in front of the TV - no judgement). I needed it to stay stacked nicely, not look ridiculous, and hold varying types of napkins. I bit the bullet, ordered this and I love it. You can actually pull ONE INDIVIDUAL NAPKIN from the holder at a time and the rest won't move. Do you hear me, THE REST WON'T MOVE. The design is simple and elegant like most simplehuman items and i can put regular napkins, take-out napkins, tea napkins - ANY napkin in this holder and it will still dispense ONE napkin at a time. You definitely get what you pay for.
Love it!
December 15, 2016
Finally! I have found a napkin holder that really works. You can put a lot of napkins on it (75 the ad says and it's true) It holds them all in place and I don't get 5 or 6 napkins coming out when all I want is 1.It is also very cool looking and should go with any decorum.
A truly "Frustration-Free" napkin holder.
December 30, 2015
The best napkin holder ever! This is one product where I really relied upon reviews before purchasing (thank you to all who posted before my purchase). After years of frustration, dealing with the typical, stand-up style napkin holders (the kind where they fall out if it isn't full enough or pulling one yanks them all out when it is over-stuffed), I went on a quest to find a "frustration-free" napkin holder. Candidly, I didn't think one existed and was close to just leaving a pile of napkins out on the table. Then I found this Quick Grip. . . it does what it promises and whether you are grabbing one napkin or several, you only get what you want and the rest stay in place. I couldn't ask for more.A nice little bonus is that it matches my stainless steel and black kitchen. Thanks for a great product!
Great napkin holder!
September 21, 2014
I bought this napkin holder to hold all of my various napkins that I've accumulated through numerous delivery and take-out orders I've had (yes, okay, I'm cheap and lazy, so sue me). I was originally using a tin to hold all of them, but this solution is MUCH better. Because it's completely exposed, you can take one napkin and not worry about dirtying the rest. It dispenses all kinds of napkins, including the extra thin tiny napkins some restaurants give you with a delivery order. I currently have all types of napkins in mine (square, rectangular, thin, thick, etc.) and have had no problem taking out any of them when need be. I do suggest making sure the tension arm rests in the center of the napkins/move the smaller napkins more towards the front so that you can pull out the napkins a bit easier. For reference, Kirkland brand square casual dining napkins fit pretty well in this napkin holder, with about 1cm of space on the sides. As a side note, while I have not tried using this outside, I have had the napkin holder in the way of a Vornado fan before and the napkins stayed put. So I imagine this napkin holder would hold up beautifully if used outside during a breezy day.
Works as good as it looks
May 17, 2013
I purchased this sleek and modern napkin holder because I was frustrated with my pretty, vertical napkin holder from Crate & Barrel. This simplehuman model solves my problem by allowing me to pull out one napkin (or any any other quantity) at a time without ever having to re-adjust the rest or put some extras back every time. The capacity is also more than double what my previous one held.Because the napkins are placed face down, it does take up more real estate on your table but its easy use and operation are worth the bigger foot print.Overall a great-looking, well-thought out product from simplehuman.

very nice napkin holder
July 14, 2016
This is a very nice napkin holder. No surprises.l It was as pictured. I gave it 4 stars because I wish it had been a little bit taller, since I like to use the larger luncheon napkins. So if I do not fold them in half, they fall over. But that's not a fault of the product. I just like larger napkins.

Good job, you!

I gave this some napkins to hold and it preformed the task with no complaints whatsoever!
Just what I wanted
July 23, 2015
this napkin holder is stylish, modern and practical. Growing up in the suburbs, I remember the fake cut glass plastic napkin holders we had, followed by the one made in wood shop by my brother. This holder blows the plastic one AND the wooden one away. I like that it is sturdy and stable, not prone to falling over.

Sturdy and good for the money. Approximately 20-30 napkins fit; of the thicker ones!

It's a napkin holder. It's sturdy and nice. It matches my chrome fruit basket and towel holder, so it's exactly what I wanted. Holds a good amount of napkins.

Works great. Simplicity is appealing
September 13, 2017
Black hinge portion attached to the "n" metal loop does not slide up and down. I was hoping it would to adjust for varying quantities of napkins.Works great. Simplicity is appealing.
Nice napkin holder
June 24, 2017
Nice napkin holder. Only down side - the "clamp" is not spring loaded and the weight is very light. Thus, the napkins and easily slide out of place in the holder.
Works great; takes up space
May 22, 2017
Works perfectly and I love that regular paper napkins don't flop all over the place. It's a funky style that I was originally attracted too. On the kitchen counter, now I don't think it looks so great and takes up more space that the typical 'upright' ones. But for the increased functionality, I'd buy it again.

Nifty gadget works well with all size napkins. Very simple design fits with any decor whatsoever. Nice look too for sure

Works fine, holds lots of napkins.
This appears to be well made and it works so far as advertised and holds a stack of standard size napkins perfectly.
April 20, 2016
This makes a nice addition to my newly remodeled kitchen for I have been doing everything in stainless steel and so far this appears to be well made and it holds a standard size napkin very nicely allowing you to remove one at a time.

Ok for the (add on) price
October 17, 2016
It's just ok. The price was right and I needed a new napkin holder. It looks nice enough, but it's very lightweight and tips over easily. Might be better with regular size, every day napkins. The larger dinner napkins are a little too big and heavy for it.

Didn't like it like I thought I would.
July 22, 2017
I've been using it for about 6 months, really trying to love it. It's is smart design and easy to use. But it don't like the way it looks, like it belongs in a office not a home. I realize that's just my taste (for context, I have a fairly modern kitchen). Beyond style, it also collects water spots very easily. It functions the same for all square size napkins, but cocktail napkins are really overpowered by the size of it. Best to use with the larger square napkins.

Product itself may be good. But ours had scratch marks all over with few being really big and ugly.
Looks cool, but base was a little warped.
October 28, 2015
Well, it looks pretty slick, and when I put napkins on it it works just fine, but it came a little bit warped—one of the corners of the base has sort of "popped out" and wont' seem to go back in, as it were. Otherwise it's fine.
Not really functional with few napkins in it
April 29, 2015
Need to have like a hundred napkins so the "grip" really works, otherwise, when the stack is short and you pull one, you can expect 5 more to come with it. Love the design and feels pretty sturdy.
Does the job for now
November 1, 2014
Does what it's supposed to do...hold napkins. The "quick grip" function works for me about half the time...sometimes I get a single napkin, sometimes I get a stack. It is a bit larger than I was expecting, and I don't like the "funky techie" look as much as I thought I would. I saw one at BB&B after ordering, and pretty much decided then that I wished I would have looked in stores and gotten something else. This will do for the time being, but I will be replacing it with a more conservative holder.

July 6, 2014
I really wanted to like this napkin holder as it matches my simplehuman dish draining rack. The arm is not heavy enough to hold the napkins in place except when you have a large stack. As the stack grows smaller it will not dispense properly. I think a flat magnet on the bottom slot and another on the arm would do the trick but I shouldn't have to make my own adjustments to make it function.

Too short
November 19, 2016
This is NOT 5.5" high like description says. Well, it is from the ground up but that's including the feet so it's only 4.75" to hold the napkins. My napkins are folding over because this is too short.

Doesn't do it's job well when the napkin holder isn't full

Definitely did not hold the napkins in place soon as it wasn't a full stack in there. Returned.

It works fine - I was hoping for more of a "designer" piece and that where it let me down
Does the job. Informal
January 13, 2014
Holds a large pack of napkins securely. Releases one at a time, so the pressure on the arm is good. However not great to look at, best suited for informal use.
Base pops apart
January 11, 2014
Overall this is a great napkin holder, but there is adhesive within the base that keeps the bottom two pieces together that wasn't doing its job when I first received this. I squeezed the pieces back together, which seemed to hold for a while, but occasionally, the pieces pop apart again.
Doesn't work well
April 1, 2013
This napkin holder does not deliver one napkin at a time. I am very disappointed with it. Maybe it works well for others.
Does it work? Depends on the napkins
May 6, 2011
While the product should work in theory, it all depends on the type of napkins used, and the amount. If it is full of napkins, it works most of the time. When it gets down to about 20 napkins, they all start to come out. Especially the cheap napkins you buy for picnics for about a buck. It's not worth $24.

Does not provide one-handed, effortless napkin-pulling experience
February 27, 2017
simplehuman is usually on point when it comes to their products, but this one missed the mark BIG TIME. No matter how many napkins are loaded into this, the weighted arm doesn't prevent them from slipping around when you try to pull just ONE out. I wanted a one-handed, effortless napkin-pulling experience and I didn't get that. I'm returning this and trying the OXO Good Grips SimplyPull Napkin Holder instead.
Don't bother
May 26, 2015
Bought as a gift and the base (bottom that sits on the table) came apart from the tray that the napkins sit on. I sent it back and got a replacement that arrived in the same condition. I am surprised because I own a lot of Simplehuman products that are outstanding.

Does NOT hold napkins is not weighted
Save your money - this is flimsy and poorly designed
February 5, 2015
The bottom and the top separated as soon as I took it our of the box. I epoxied them together but when you buy new stuff, it should not require repair. Stuff happens during shipping I guess. After some time using this device, the hold down arm is sketchy as well - it simply doesn't work very and the whole pile of napkins moves around, especially when the about 1/2 the napkins are gone. Flimsy construction - not impressed overall and I would not buy this again.
Good Luck
July 25, 2014
So the one napkin at a time theory is just that...try the whole stack at a time comes flying out when you pull just 1 napkin. Not worth it, I sent it back.

it does not dispense one napkin at a time, seems tight or rather sticky, not sure how to describe the problem other than it does not work as mentioned. super bummed especially at this price
