Five Star Reviews: | 77% Good card reader - fast transfer - the cable is a big plus on this! October 8, 2017 Bought this to use when transferring photos from my DSLR camera to my laptop and Amazon Photos cloud storage. I use both 64 GB and 32 GB SanDisk Extreme Pro 32GB SDHC UHS-I Card (SDSDXXG-032G-GN4IN) and the read/write speeds with this card reader are great. The fact that this card reader has a cable on it is also a main reason I bought it. USB ports on laptops and tablets are too close together to be able to put a USB mouse dongle and a USB card reader stick in them at the same time. The cable on this allows me to insert it with other things in the neighboring USB ports and then be able to use the card reader without bending it at an awkward angle or having to unplug another USB accessory. Nice Micro card reader August 12, 2017 This was a great buy at the price I think it was a lighting deal so keep that in mind. Every slot works have tested and used many times. If you have need of micro card reader I would definitely check this one out. The fact that it has 4 slots also means you can use different cards at one time, my main reason for liking this was the fact that I could just insert micro card without having to find adapter to insert it. The build is what you get plastic and USB is solid. The 4 inch cord also gives you flexibility to gain access to reader. Seems to work fine after a few days July 20, 2017 Initially I might have had some trouble with it possibly having a loose connection on the CAC, but I'm not sure since it either resolved after a few days, or I changed something. Either way, it appears to be working fine. I've only been using it on average every other day for 2 months now. Works with DOD e-mail, mypay, NKO, etc. Just follow instructions on militarycac.com or there's a youtube video that's 31:22 long that is very thorough and it'll get you up and running. AMAZING SPEED and dual card support June 20, 2017 HOLY COW THIS THING IS NICE! I have already recommended to my other Drone and computer friends. when this is plugged into my 3.0 slots, it transfers data at 90.1 MB/s just shy of a Gigabit! of course, that's just my Micro SD limitation I'm sure, but it's enough for me! Also having the ability to insert two cards and read/write to them both as separate drives is amazing, I plug this into my Android tablet with an OTG adapter and can copy footage on the fly! Super Fast & Handy February 23, 2017 Great little card reader. Most handy if your only USB 3.0 slot is on the back of a desktop PC or if you have things like a mouse plugged into your laptop ports which blocks your ability to use multiple USB devices at once. Has slots for most popular card formats- one (SD) is on the every end (the bumper, so to speak) & especially well-located since if you have the cable stretched to limit this makes it the nearest insertion point (kinky!). And the cable itself- could be a little longer, especially when you want to plug it into the USB port on the back of the computer to take advantage of the USB 3.0 transfer speeds, but I'll take what I can get. And how about those speeds? I use it to transfer large video files from my DSLR camera to computer for editing & compared to USB 2.0 it's just shocking. Shocking. The transfer graph doesn't even have time to display a transfer rate when transferring smaller (under 200 MB) files since it's done in the blink of an eye.One thing that may be factor into your satisfaction with the reader: the blue LED light right in the middle of the unit. Now on this unit it falls on the "good" side of LED lights in that it helps to locate it when you leave it permanently plugged in at the back of your PC like I do. It's not too bright however the light does remain illuminated whether there's a card plugged in or not. So depending on if you have this totally visible & in your line of sight to where you sleep or sit for extended periods you may want to cover it up w/ some electrical tape. I won't knock off a star for it b/c, to Saicoo's credit, they didn't make it too big or bright, but your exact setup may lead it to be a criticism.Love it so far! excellent but unreliable February 7, 2016 this is great, you can mount two sd cards at the same time, on either side, regular or micro.update: i've had this for 2 years. its not the most reliable thing I've ever owned. I've thought it was broken about three times. Sometimes just unplugging it and plugging it back in works. sometimes wiggling the card in the card reader works. and sometimes leaving it a drawer for three months fixes it. It either works perfectly and it's great or it just doesn't turn on. I've given up on my current one. I'm going to buy another one. hopefully that will be more reliable. I had some photos from a DSLR were lost once, due to another camera reformatting the SD card. SanDisk was very helpful in recovering the data. This is why I am hesitant to switch to the slightly faster Samsung SD cards. No certainty that a company with several device branches would be as attentive... If i need a extra card, I would buy this again. Wish the light on the actual device reader when have some sort of color indication - I only see one color come up (yellow/orange) when a CAC is in place but have had to remove and re-insert a few times to make sure I am able to properly access. Almost great June 17, 2017 Love the concept, but one of the microSD slots didn't work. Amazon gave me a $2 credit because I decided to keep the card reader instead of exchange it.That worked for me. The other slots work great, as expected. I might just have gotten a rare lemon. If all slots would have worked as expected, I would have rated this 5 stars. One Star May 13, 2017 Worked Once.Edit: the company offered to replace the product as soon as they found out I got a defective one. Did not work with my military CAC card as was ... April 28, 2017 Did not work with my military CAC card as was advertised. I returned it for a refund. The company sent me a free replacement which works on acouple of the military sites now, but not MyPay. First card reader I received was defective. July 15, 2015 First card reader I received was defective. It did not work properly on Windows 7 64-bit systems. Only the card slot on the side worked; the slot at the end did not. If you put a card in the end slot, the OS repeatedly tried to mount the card but never recognized it. The reader seemed to work OK on computers running XP or Windows 7 32-bit, although oddly, under XP the end slot took the first available drive letter (typically E:) and the side slot became the next letter (typically F:). Under Windows 7, the side slot took the first letter. I tried this reader on several PCs running each OS, with entirely consistent results. The low cost makes it not worthwhile to return this item, but its flaky behavior means I won't be using it. I need to buy about half a dozen card readers for our Windows 7 64-bit machines, so I'll be looking for something higher quality.UPDATE 7/21/15: After my initial 2 star review, Saicoo sent me a replacement unit which worked as expected. It works (first one did) (and so did the replacement for the second one) April 27, 2015 It does the job. And it is nice to have slots for several types of cards. The corded USB attachment is preferable to what I had before. My previous reader was like a bulky thumb drive which got in the way of other USB slots. After many uses it, died with a bright flash. I ordered a second one of these for my vacation residence.I originally gave this product five stars. But then the second one arrived. I plugged it into my computer and it took about five minutes to transfer one of the photo files I had on an SD card. Then things got worse. My Lightroom program didn't work properly. I thought maybe something was wrong with the computer. Then I pulled the device out of the USB port and things began working properly. I put the SD card in a thumb drive type memory card and the rest of the files transferred almost instantly. Multiple attempts to get this device to work resulted in failure and bad computer performance. It obviously was never tested by the manufacturer. I will be returning for a refund.This started as a five star review, but was downgraded to one star when the I received the defective unit. Within two hours of the posting of the review regarding the defect, the manufacturer contacted me to offer a replacement. I accepted the offer although a little nervous about trying a product that had affected computer performance. I received the replacement, and it works. I would go back to a 5 star rating but for the hassle of dealing with the defective unit. | 9% The #1 in Micro SD Cards July 30, 2017 When it comes to reliability for Micro SD cards, Sandisk is the undisputed best. There is no question about that. Having used Sandisk Micro SD cards for over 7 years, I can attest to their reliability. I've used their 8, 16, 32, 64, and 200gb Micro SD cards over the years, and not one has ever failed on me. Other Micro SD cards I have bought over the years like Samsung and Kingston all have given out on me over time. Sandisk though, are honestly the best you can get when it comes to Micro SD cards. When I saw this 256gb card go on sale on Prime Day, I snagged it without a second thought. Having had it for over a week now, I'll say that this is great as always, and with 256gb worth of storage, I'll never have to worry about running out of space again. If you're in the market for a Micro SD card for your phone, camera, or any other device, look no further. This is the answer to all your problems. June 9, 2017 Would I must say I was a little hesitant about buying something from the warehouse with its description of its condition being very good. It was a day late and a big envelope with a smaller envelope inside containing the micro sd and adapter still in its plastic tray. When I put the card in my phone it said it was corrupt and had to format to fix it for use with my phone. Easy fix and plenty of space haven't had any issues with it. If your wanting it right away and don't care about saving a few bucks you can buy it from Walmart and spend about 5 bucks or more. If you don't care about waiting a few days and not having all that cardboard them definitely go this route. fortunately no critical data was lost May 11, 2017 Have had mixed experiences with other sandisk cards purchased off amazon, having one 32 gig class 10 microsd fail to read in both my phone and card readers after around 6 months, fortunately no critical data was lost. This one seems to be solid so far and if it continues to function I will be very pleased. UHS 1 seems to work well achieving nearly 80 mb/s read speeds with a usb 3.0 card reader. Nice to always have one of these laying around some where you'll never know when you'll need it! Fast With Computer, but Doesn't Work with USB Hub. August 29, 2017 As USB 3, this is a fast reader. Unfortunately, it only works when plugged directly into my Mac. It fails to mount any disks when plugged into my USB 3 ports on my monitor stand.Since this reader has such a short pigtail cord, the reader is left dangling in the air and is hard to reach when plugged into the back of my computer.Other USB readers I've owned have worked with the USB ports on my monitor stand. I don't understand why this one does not.I tested the transfer of large NEF photos and they transferred over very quickly. Fried my chip July 3, 2017 When I tried to use my cac on base, my smart card was no longer recognizable. I was unable to log in to any computers on base. I had to get a whole new card. I have been able to use the reader while keeping my new card intact by not configuring the cac reader to use my id to log me in to my laptop OK. I would recommend it for the price. July 14, 2016 I bought this card reader for lot of good reviews. but it is not working as expected.I have connected the card reader to my iMac (27 inch, 5k display), I use the card reader a primary device to transfer my photos and videos from SD card to the computer.Problem : 3 of the 4 card slots don't work, only one SD card slot is working, both microSD card slots are non-functional. also many of the times I have to plug-out and then plug-in back to use the device (Reminds me of restarting Windows on PC to resolve the issue and use the computer :-) ). Another minor issue for me is length of the cable attached to the device but I cannot blame it on the device as I was aware of its length and didn't realize it will be little too small to connect to the back of iMAC.Recommendation : I would recommend this product for the price and the fact that it is still functional :-). Also I believe that there could be a problem with iMac for not reading the microSD card (which is highly unlikely but I have to give benefit of doubt to the card reader :-)) Its functional and serves its purposes... for ... March 11, 2016 Its functional and serves its purposes... for now. It may very well be a problem specific to mine but whenever I connect to my USB port I get an error that the device is unreadable. After a few moments though, the error goes away and the SD card reads and I'm able to write onto it with no problems. So yes, functional and the item does what its supposed to do albeit in an odd error-ridden way. For now I'm unsure if the problem may escalate into the whole SD reader becoming unusable, so I can't give a higher rating. I sadly have to just hope the device continues to work for me. That is excellent customer service December 9, 2015 I purchased this for a Surface 3 and it would not work. I decided to trade my Surface 3 in on a Surface Pro 4 and this device still would not work. Both Surfaces had WIN 10. It does work on two different laptops running WIN 10. This leads me to believe it is not compatible with the Microsoft Surface.Update: Saicoo sent me an email the next day after my review and offered to sent me another card reader and I agreed. That is excellent customer service! I will test it and finish my review.2nd update: Saicoo sent a replacement immediately. Unfortunately This one had the same results. The description should state 'may not be compatible with Microsoft Surface'. I purchased a different brand card reader and it worked fine with my Surface. I'll give it 3 stars for their customer service. | 2% Formatting Issue for MAC September 7, 2017 I use a MAC computer and was trying to view a video from the card that I took on my new camera. When I put it in the MAC it could not read the card. It was formatted as FAT32 and I could view it on a pc but not my MAC. After searching around I discovered that 64GB and larger have some sort of different formatting that a MAC cant read. So I had to put it back in the pc and format it again to FAT32 and then my MAC could see it. The only problem is now the disk says it only has 1GB space. I then had to use the MAC to format it to EXFAT and now it is 64GB and everything works. Not sure why they do that but it is a pain. Think This Was Used Prior to My Receiving It July 17, 2017 When I went to use this micro card, there were 21 files already on it, most with MILLIONS of KBs already recorded on it, mostly just blank white or black nothingness, one music file on it, so I guess it was used prior....everyone that saw it was shocked.Works great but I'm wondering why they would send out one that had stuff already recorded on it. sd card works but the pyle dashcam does not. April 21, 2017 This item came with the purchase a dual dashcam PYLE USA, the sandisk works great, but the dashcam does not work properly and the one page translated instructions are worthless. It was professionally installed and the cameras sometimes turns on and I have to reset. There online PYLEUSA.COM is a copy of non-instructional instructions. Consumers be awear. Doesn't work with DJI P3 Standard... June 8, 2016 Works in everything but the DJI P3 Standard. This is a common problem now that I've read other reviews and forums. I guess you have to get another brand or the SanDisk Extreme version. I decided to put it into my Amazon FireTV instead so will research the best option for the P3S. I only gave it 3 stars because in some of the Amazon bundles it shows this one as compatible but it isn't. It is probably more of a DJI issue and the camera but it should be stated not compatible. 64GB seems to work with Pi 3.. but it's unstable June 7, 2016 Seems to work with my Raspberry Pi 3, the write speed is good enough to store high bitrate video with no problems.UPDATE: after a couple of weeks of use, not sure if it's the card's fault (it might be the Pi3, or the power supply), but there is some sort of malfunction that appears after a while (especially after writing to the card more intensely, installing new packages with apt-get etc.) which makes every command show a "segmentation fault", or, alternatively, any attempt to access the file system freezes the terminal.. Rebooting the Pi fixes such malfunction though, but it's not an acceptable (stable) solution.. I checked the card for file system corruption and even bad sectors but couldn't find any problems.. It might be that the Pi 3 is not fully compatible with SDXC cards, I don't know, but it is a bit disappointing that it does not work as stable as expected with Raspberry Pi 3. Put this in my phone, HTC One A9 and ... April 9, 2016 Put this in my phone, HTC One A9 and I was able to combine my 16gb internal storage with the sd storage to get around 133gb of internal storage. Got the phone 3 days ago. Did a factory reset today with the sd card in my phone and now it's telling me that the sd is too slow for combining with the sd card. It says to get a card that's atleast a class 3. So that means that the phone thinks the sd card isn't even a class 3 which is a mistake because it clearly says class 10. I don't know what wen wrong. I threw it out and ordered an IO Gear reader. Doesn't Work with Chromebook. June 15, 2017 The device works with Windows Vista but not a Chromebook. I should have read the specs with more care. I assumed that if flash drives and mice worked it would as well although Chromebook was not listed. The company did offer assistance. I'm pretty disappointed. January 5, 2016 First review I've ever written, but this does not work well. Out of the 4 total slots, only 2 work. The ones on the end of the device (opposite the usb plug) do absolutely nothing. Also, I can only have one card plugged in at a time to see it on the computer. If I have both the micro SD and normal SD cards in at the same time, only one appears. I did not encounter this with my other micro SD cards which are also class 10. It's good enough for storage, but if you're looking for sustained performance (i.e. continuous recording of hd video), you might run into some intermittent issues. Originally bought this for a dashcam, but because of performance issues, ended up just as extended storage for my phone. It did cause the phone to reboot a few times. Verified this by replacing with a known good sdcard and no reboots. After scanning and repairing on this card, the reboots aren't seen often, but once in a blue moon, the system stalls and reboots still. I've bought these in the past for everything from cell phones, to tablets, to digital cameras.Being a person who is not really a "techie", I can't comment on things like speed.This time, I opened the package and it did not work.Speaking of package.....this package is terrible. Sandisk was outright hostile about replacing them... May 25, 2017 I'm not exactly sure whats wrong, but file transfers to this card start slowing down, or just flat out fail as they go on for long periods of time.This isn't because the card is filled up, this happens when I am just trying to put 4GB of music files onto an empty 64GB card! It will start the transfer at a solid speeds, but after a minute will slow down to 4mb/s.At first I thought this was just my phone, but now that Ive tried it in multiple Micro SD adapters, and USB card readers I have to blame the card. Works great, but very fragile... May 9, 2017 The memory card works as good as any other without issue, but be very careful on handling it, the reader I had the micro SD card in was a bit too snug, and I had to put additional pressure on it using my fingernail to try to pull the card out and the card snapped in half. Thankfully i didn't lose any important data on it, but just for FYI... be very careful on how you handle this one. Personally I'd advise using the Samsung micro SD cards... they work just as fast and great, with noticeably better build quality. i bought this for my Samsung Note in September 2015 ... March 21, 2016 i bought this for my Samsung Note in September 2015. it worked very well until March 4 2016 when it became unreadable in the middle of the day. All data appears to be lost ( went two months without backup oops). Then I went to Saicoo website and left a few massages for them to contact me through phone, email. However, it's been more than a month and they have not done so. Up to now, I have not been able to use this card reader. To be honest, I don't want this product anymore given that they have no customer service.I care for companies that care about their customers, but this is not one of them. Doesn't Recognize Air Force CAC Cards May 25, 2016 I wouldn't call this product a DOD USB CAC Smart Reader, because it doesn't recognize Air Force CAC Cards. The driver disk required being installed and uninstalled three times for it to even open on my computer. When it finally did open it worked for about two minutes or just long enough for me to download the manual before it would freeze. However, this turned out to not be helpful because I could not get to Step 1 anyways due to the readers inability to recognize an Air Force CAC Card. Don't waste your time here. I would appreciate a response from the vendor with perhaps a reason or "coaching" of how to get their poorly functioning product to work. DO NOT USE WITH GOPRO April 12, 2017 DO NOT USE WITH GOPRO. bought it for my session 5. turns out this is the old version and the write speed is like 15 mbps this cannot keep up the gopro and will cause it to overheat. it also causes random pauses in the video. i've heard it can cause the gopro to crash when it overheats but i haven't expierienced that yet. instead buy the sandisk extreme or other recommended micro sd card on gopro's website. buy once cry once. Horrible speed that hinders usability. January 10, 2017 I just can't recommend this to anyone. Yes it's cheap and I guess you get what you paid for? I don't know, however, I did NOT expect it to be this slow. I only use it on my phone so I didn't really think the speed would be an issue. I was wrong. Save photos and videos on it is a pain in the ass, it takes a good 5 seconds after every picture before I can take another one. Just today I was deleting a fairly large file(2.2 gig) from it and it literally took 10 minutes just to delete it...it even said so on the prompt. You also CANNOT format this thing as internal storage because an error will come up saying it's way too slow and does not meet the speed requirements. So yeah, I can't recommend this to anyone...even for people who don't care about speed and just plan to use this on their phones because the slow read/write speeds will actually affect you. Melted in my laptop, shorted out my GoPro. September 1, 2016 My GoPro said "SD ERROR" and kept shutting down, so took the card out of my GoPro, and put it into SanDisk's adapter, and inserted it into my laptop to try to format it.Suddenly curls of smoke rose from my laptop's SD card port and I smelled burning plastic, so I pulled the card out, and found this. It was super hot, and there's a possibility it might have caught fire if I'd left it in the laptop for longer.The other three work fine in both the GoPro and the Laptop: they haven't melted yet, but now I'm concerned.I've attached a picture of the melted card, because "pics or it didn't happen". Well, it happened, and there's the result. Most Sandisk productshave been good for me August 1, 2016 Are these knock-offs or seconds or something... I ordered 3 32Gig cards. Most Sandisk productshave been good for me, one other problem in the past. Open the first one and my DJI Phantom 3 said it needed formatted so I tried to let it format, failed. Tried formatting on a Win10 PC, failed, tried on my Macbook Pro, failed. I was afraid to even open the other two so I did a refund. Was given a return label but I HAD TO PAY to return, not that big of a deal but still that much more that I'm out for returning a bad product. Then today I get them back where they had been REFUSED?!?!?! What??? I got online and did see the refund went through but why make me pay to return only for them to refuse them? Just out of curiosity I opened the other two and sure enough they would not format either. I believe these are knock-offs or something like that. They look legit but I'm not sure... After I tried to return them I ordered another brand and they worked fine. While it worked, it was fine. Died way too quickly.
