It works great
November 6, 2017
It works, what else can I say. I ordered some jewelry, the scale said the same thing the jewelry listing said. So the scale seems to work, and Amazon has pretty accurate listing of gram weight on their jewelry. :)Also it is super tiny, could fit in a pocket. That is an extra bonus. Doesn't take up space, could keep in your jewelry drawer.

Great scale. Based on other reviews I started off removing the batteries right away. One night I left them in, it was cold out (my scale is used in my garage) and they stayed in for three days before I turned it on again. When I did turn it on I didn't have any problems other than a slow screen. It's possible the battery draining was fixed because like I said there was no issue !I really like this scale and other people always ask where I got it!
I recommend this set
August 17, 2017
Unbelievable for such a low cost and inconspicuous case makes it easy to just drop in the bottom of your purse or backpack. Make sure to recalibrate inbetween weighs and after each time you turn it on as with most scales. He sure to remove the batteries between uses or you may find them dead pretty fast. I recommend this set.

Very nice convenient little scale I personally use it to measure out my supplements before my workouts the scale is very accurate
Good enough for me
May 14, 2017
I will be using this for casual weighing of rings etc. At arrival seems to be well calibrated , shows one penny at 2.5 grams and two pennies at 5.0 gram. Good enough for me. And for the price ( a couple of ice coffees at Starbucks ), good enough for me to get 5 stars.
Good cheap scale
January 29, 2017
This scale seems to be well made and accurate. This is the second one I've purchased, after giving away the first when I no longer needed it. I've been using it to measure up to maybe 5x per day for the last month and a half, and it's holding up excellently. It does frequently lag between incremental weight additions, which is obnoxious but not a dealbreaker at all.

but i'm very happy with it
January 11, 2017
I've only had this product one day, but i'm very happy with it. I have tested its accuracy and that has checked out. The main thing though is value for price. At local retail outlets this product would be well over $60 dollars. The last scale i bought was $60+ and it too had a 10 year limited warranty. Somehow, the scale got wet. Not soaked, but wet. Anyhow I owned the thing for 6 months or less and i couldn't get a refund. This scale is bigger, has an open/close feature that would protect it from any accidental spills, and unless this thing craps out in the next couple of months, I find this to be of tremendous value. As I've said, i bought the cheapest .00 scale i could find and it was over $60. Even the analogue scales were $25 plus.No reason to pay more than $10 in the future. If it does start to perform poorly I will be back to let you know.
Good quality scale & its accurate! Get a calibration weith though
November 18, 2016
Seems to be acurate. It came calibrated. I did and u can calibrate with 20 us nickels as theyears way 5 grams each. My nickels though seem to all weigh differently at around 5 grams...4.99, 5.02, 5.03 are the commonly weights I see. I definitely recommend getting calibration weights as I'd like a certain 100% calibration. The only concern to this item that I can see as of now is that when weighing something.. it has to be dead center for the most accurate reading since it is so sensitive. Good good device

Purchased this to weigh pennies and it works great! Nothing I found in local stores would go below a gram measurement (milligrams) or give partial gram measurements, but this one will. Example gram measurements: 0.72, 2.56, 3.12.
Great for reloading and avid shooters. Measures in grains.
February 19, 2016
Great scale. I do a lot of different shooting with handguns, rifles and Air guns. In combination with weighing my ammunition in grains and use of a shooting chronograph I can figure out Bullet/Pellet energy at the muzzle. Nice that it comes with the calibration weight so you can calibrate at any time.

Make sure you request the "God Camel" batteries.
April 29, 2015
Scale is pretty good for the $$. Although, It came with genuine "God Camel" batteries (which were dead right out of the plastic) Now don't get me wrong, it's a great name, that probably originated in the Middle East somewhere, or something was lost in translation somewhere in China. I can only imagine the slogan for that company. "Buy our God camel batteries"! "They have 5 stomachs full of acid... enough to carry anyone through a desert of dead devices". Yes, this review has nothing to do with this scale, but I would say the best part about receiving it were the God Camel awful batteries. I laughed for 5 minutes, and another five when I put them in and they were dead. I was gonna give this 4 stars cause the batteries were dead, now I'm giving it 5... You're welcome. Ok... I'm done now... Wait, here's a pic .

I misread the description and thought it offered 2 decimal places for grams. It is very useful for other measurements and I am glad to have it.
Very compact but works well

Would love if the scale portion were just slightly wider for better coverage, but overall the unit works fine.

September 23, 2016
I use it to weigh my mail i send to my family in the UK, helps me avoid the worry i haven't used enough postage. I stuff letters to the max everytime and its worked like a charm.
Pretty good scale!
March 13, 2016
Does a good job out to 0.1g, kind of wish I had gotten the version that weighed out to .01g which would be more accurate for mixing my hydroponic fertilizer, but this works well enough. Not for accurate classroom chemlab experiments though.
Great Price
February 23, 2012
The shipping on this item was very fast less than a week, It seems to work great I gave it 4 stars because before you can use it, you need to calibrate it, and it requires a 500g weight to calibrate it, so unless you have exactly 500g laying around to calibrate it you'll need to buy a weight which will cost you another 9 bucks. I would have been nice to know this before i purchased it because there are other scales out there that either come calibrated or do not require such large amounts. but once it was calibrated it worked perfectly..Also The image shows a black scale mine was silver, not a big deal but kinda wanted the black one..

April 13, 2017
I use this to weigh out tea when brewing gongfu style. As far as I can tell it is very accurate and it is definitely easy to use. I wish that it had a slightly higher upper limit (this model tops out at 100g), but that's what you give up to get more precise measurements I suppose.

July 30, 2016
I calibrated this scale 4x and the weight needed for reloading small caliber 9mm (3.1gr) is not accurate at all on this scale. I don't think the scale is really made for such small weight. The 100gram weight shows as 100 but when checking smaller weight like 1-5 gr the scale can be off by .2 not .02. This can cause injury for reloaders. If your not so worried about .2 off then it does exactly as described. Easy to use and set up. Nice small case. Still gave it a decent rating.
Good enough
June 17, 2016
I bought the model with the calibrating weight, and it works well enough, but it's a bit off. Immediately after calibrating to 100g it reads the weight as 99.98 or 99.99. Not a huge deal, but it's a little disappointing. I don't need to be precise down to .01 grams, and this was a cheap scale, so I'll give it four stars. Just keep in mind if you do need to be that precise you should probably spend more money.
A good deal, even though the batteries it came with were dead.
March 4, 2016
The scale itself is fine. I think it's a nice touch that the battery compartment has space for a spare set of batteries, so that if you fully load it, you don't need to go searching around for a replacement set when they run down. The incremental response is a pain when trying to accurately measure fine powders, as you can't gradually add them without it readjusting itself. But I was aware of that thanks to other reviews, and it's acceptable in a scale this cheap. My only real complaint is that the batteries it shipped with were dead. Rather disappointing, that. Fortunately I had some on hand. For the price, it's a quite good deal. But if I end up using it on a regular basis, I might shell out for a better model that doesn't have that incremental response.
Compact, accurate and simple to use/calibrate
October 5, 2015
A great little scale, which stays accurate thanks to the calibration weight. It is very easy to use. On;y reason it got 4 instead of 5 stars is that the batteries shipped with it (which had some odd & somewhat humorous brand name... that now escapes me) were DoA. I'd read from other reviewers that this had happened (though I cannot find those reviews any longer, which is strange) so I was prepared with my own batteries.

Great scale for price.
May 9, 2017
This scale does exactly what it's built to do. Gets the job done and makes life easier when weighing things on the smaller side. Would of gave it 4 stars but the calibration is faulty at times, weighing things in the negative instead of calibrating back to "0".

Doesn't register the mass unless it's like at least a gram and a half. So this is not useful for small measurements.

January 1, 2017
Not consistent measurements. I use it on a flat, stable surface and it either weighs differently each time (by tenths) or flickers between different weights. Luckily, it's ok if my stuff is off by a tenth or two. I like the size for the convenience of taking it with me when I need to. Easy to use and read.
Not too bad
April 18, 2015
After I finished assembling it i had to find 2 aaa batteries for it but I did get it working. I think the batteries it shipped with were bad. It's within .1g accuracy. These all seem to be clones with different names (aws usn smartweigh)
Just ok
March 12, 2015
This scale is not as accurate as I would have liked, tends to be off by +/- 0.1 g and if left with weight on will often climb 0.2g. Not a big deal for basic uses such as hops or teas but i wouldn't depend on it for finer measurements. Very inexpensive and works well enough for me but slightly disappointed.
Don't leave batteries in it.
March 10, 2015
I've had this for a little bit now and the reviews about batteries dying is very accurate. There is however a "workaround". I'm not one to read the instructions on items like this (one's I know how to use) so what I say might actually be in there somewhere. First, they do give you some pretty cheap batteries however when you open the battery compartment you'll notice two sets of battery holders. One is to actually power the scale and one is to just plastic cutouts to hold them. I didn't think much of it because with other scales I've never had to do this, but I didn't use it for about a week and went to turn it on only to see "Lo" display on the screen right before it shut off. I was baffled the batteries could be drained so I put some new ones in and same thing happened about a week later. I put another set of two in but after use I put them in the "plastic holders" I mentioned earlier. The batteries work after a couple weeks now so the best advice I can give you is take the batteries out and put them in the "holder" when not in use. Other than that little annoyance, it's a decent product.

What you pay is what you get
September 9, 2017
After using the scale 3x this afternoon, I went to turn it on and calibrate it and the screen read "FULL". No combination of the 3 buttons would reset it and turn it back to normal. Looked online and there seems to be no fix for it besides to return it to the manufacturer if it's still under warranty.Other than that, it's been a great scale. It's been accurate insofar as I can tell, and runs great ... until all of a sudden it doesn't, and for no reason I can discern. Too bad this was an important measurement for me to take I'm my experiment, but thank goodness for Amazon 2-day ship.

December 9, 2016
One of the first things that happened is I spilled a little bit of one part of a epoxy mix on it. I cleaned it up right away and it didn't appear any got where it should cause a problem, but this would never read the same weight twice in a row, and it would drift continuously if you would let it sit. If I thought the spill should have caused the problem, I wouldn't have rated it, but if I hadn't had the spill and it did that it would have gotten one star.Moral of the story (for me) do some tests with safe things before so you know one way or the other if the product had its own problems first.
It weighs, but cannot tell if it is accurate.
December 7, 2016
This scale is supposed to be accurate to .01g; I don't know if the 100g weight is off, or if the scale is off, but the reading is 100.10. Sure would be good to know which is incorrect. I'll have to get the weight verified before I'll have confidence in this.

August 20, 2016
not ideal for when you're using minute measurements. E.g. trying to measure drops of eliquid, I'll sometimes be dropping one drop at a time and I can put in 0.3ml of liquid and all it does is flash up to 0.03g and back down to 0.00g. I'd wager it could just go on indefinitely doing this until a few grams are put on the scale. Also, it turns off after a mere 90 seconds of no use. So I can be preparing ingredients, lining things up, slowly adding and watching the scale go up, then bam, lights out. Recipe ruined. So you have to keep hitting the reset button while you're waiting to reset the 90 sec timer.Apart from that it can do the job at a low price.
Durability is alright
July 30, 2016
Great scale for precise measurement, durability is alright.First time I bought this scale, it lasted for about 6 months(Pretty decent for price) until a "FULL" sign appeared on the reading forever; obviously I assumed it was my fault and that i may have not been gentle with it.Second time around the scale only lasted about 2 months until the dreaded "FULL" sign appeared, except this time I actually took pre-cautions and never loaded more than 15 grams on it(says it has a maximum of 100 grams). Still it death reading appeared and I'm forced to throw it out.The lifetime of this may vary as I had one that i was careless with for about 6 months and one that I was careful with for 2 months.

It doesn't last
September 22, 2017
This scale didn't even last a year before it stopped giving me accurate measurements. I'd place a food item on the measuring plate (like a handful of nuts, for example) and the scale would never "settle," i.e., it'd continue to give me measurements and kept fluctuating between them. I tried recalibrating, using a new battery, and resetting—to no avail. I used coins (read: items with a stable weight) and that didn't make a difference. I'd barely used this scale; I took it with me on a few trips but other than that, it was largely just for travel. It turned out to be a waste of money because I didn't even get the use out of it that I paid for it. There are plenty of scales out there; try your hand at another brand.
I gave it time and it's not very good..
May 6, 2017
The thing is not accurate and I am looking for a new scale. The grams do not work right, I've tried calibrating since the beginning, it's just off.

April 30, 2017
I am not sure if it could work to measure under 1g. I tested it with 1/16 teaspoon. The scale is not very responsive. Adding or taking off few 1/16 teaspoons made no difference.
Frustrated!
December 6, 2016
When I received this and opened it I tested it out on a small object that I knew the weight of and it was totally uncalibrated and the only way to calibrate it is to buy this 500g weight which costs as much as the scale. So it's worthless till I get the weight and calibrate it.
Not very fine
March 17, 2016
Using this to try and measure small quantities to see how small I can bake, it won't measure anything less than a gram unless you're subtractive. Not really useful for cooking, maybe for jewelry or something.

Not so good
December 30, 2016
When I flipped the lid open on arrival the metal plate where you weigh stuff had moved out of place and there was very sticky adhesive everywhere.I managed to move it sort of back in place, but it is a little pitched to right and I can't seem to fix it. It sort of works, but not reliably. If I push tare it will sometimes zero out but if I put a small weight on it and take it off it doesn't go back to zero. Probably something to do with that plate not being correctly. Most of the time pushing tare does not get it back to zero either. Seems like a waste of money.
It's ok if you don't need 100% accuracy.
July 24, 2016
If you have a fan on or any kind of air flow, this will not weigh accurately. Leaving it open and unattended, it kept registering weights. The batteries get used up quickly and it will turn off every minute or two. If you don't need 100% accuracy and need a covered scale, it should work okay. Otherwise there are better options out there.
You get what you pay for.
November 15, 2015
I bought this scale to use for soap making (measuring sodium hydroxide) and, after using it twice it broke. (!) I'm not sure if it is just because it is a piece of crap or because I was trying to weigh items that were heavier than 100.00 grams.* Either way, I would not recommend this. Even for the $8-$10 price tag. Save your money and buy a beer. Or put it towards a better scale.*Don't even get me started on how stressful it is to measure super caustic materials, let alone having to do it in two parts. The whole point of buying a scale that measures to the .01 gram is to ensure accuracy so that you don't burn a hole in someone. Oy!
Ugh, another one bites it...
October 11, 2015
Worked for about two weeks before it died. You really do get what you pay for with these cheap-a$$ scales, and this was no exception. I thought if I steered clear of the cheapest one and went with a US made one I'd be in decent shape but no such luck. I used to own a store where we went through these quickly, so I'm very familiar with them. I just wish there was more QA and QC around the production process because they fail everytime. Wish I had a recommendation for an alternative for you. I also had a $600 one that died even though it was well-cared for, but at least that lasted for a year or so with heavy use.
Expect what you inspect...
August 19, 2015
Firstly, make sure you read thoroughly, I misread and purchased the wrong scale. I need mine to go up to pounds/thousands of grams. I sell fresh truffles, each truffle weighs about 100 grams so it would take forever to use this method to work inventory. Be that as it may, it was my mistake. The reason I'm giving this item 2 stars and not 4 or 5 is because I noticed the scale does not turn on unless you take the batteries out and put back in a number of times. There isn't any apparent rhyme or reason as to why (I made sure all electrical contact points were made before re-attempting to get it turned on). After I made that discovery, I tried returning it, only to learn Amazon would not let me return it, period. They wouldn't even ask why I wanted to return it. Caveat Emptor.
Good until it broke
May 7, 2015
I was very happy with this scale for a long time. It weighed everything perfectly and stayed true to calibration for long periods of time. After about 7 months of using it a few times a week and making sure to take very good care of it, I turned it on today and the weight was wildly inaccurate (it said that a 5 gram weight was nearly 20 grams). When attempting to calibrate it with the proper 100 gram weight, the screen said "o-ld." After looking this up on their website, I learned that means that the scale is permanently broken because it believes that I overloaded it. An overload voids the warranty so even though I did nothing wrong, I am stuck with a broken scale. Still 2 stars for months of working well.

Ridiculous waste of time and money
October 13, 2017
Absolutely terrible. First of all, it flashes between weights endlessly, never settling on one. Does this to the air - it can't seem to decide if nothing weights .4 or .7 grams. Needs calibration right out of the box but guess what - I don't have an equally priced 500 gram weight laying around. Ridiculous waste of time and money, returning right after receiving. You should feel bad wasting peoples' time like this.

Ridiculous that it would just up and quit on me like this, not worth spending your money.
poor quality
July 9, 2016
I had previously bought a version of this scale and liked it very much until it stopped working after a few years. Since it was inexpensive I decided to purchase it again. I need a scale that accurately measured to 1/10th gram for the various vitamins and supplements that I take. Unfortunately the new scale that I received was less reliable. There is a piece of plastic that sticks out on the bottom part of the scale so that it does not sit completely flat on a surface. I do not get consistent measurements with this. Also the batteries that were included did not work at all. It is basically going in the garbage.
Spend a little extra and get a better scale. this thing is garbage...
April 26, 2016
Was pretty excited to start using this once I got it. Quickly turned to disgust once I found out it was counting down by 3 10th of a gram every few seconds as I was measuring... I only noticed when I had hit the tare button and it read -.13, then -.36, -.67, -1.2.... etc... It did this every time. I tried to figure out was its issue was(maybe a stuck deck or bad wiring) . Everything seemed normal. it weighed correct as long as I was quick and got the weight on before it started counting down...Then came to find out I couldn't return it for some reason. Get a better scale, the money you save getting this isn't worth the chance on getting a good one.

March 21, 2016
When I received the scale I unpacked it and put the batteries in and tried to turn it on, nothing. I figure cheap batteries are more than likely dead so I get new ones, still nothing. I figure its more effort then its worth to try and return it so I proceed to take it apart. Once disassembled I find the problem, the never soldered the wires from the batteries to the circuit board. Bottom line you get what you pay for so spend a little more and get something that actually arrives assembled properly. After I soldered the wires to the board it should be noted that it does work properly so there is that.
Defective Power Button / No Returns policy
December 30, 2015
Defective scale on first use.The AWS-100 scale I purchased here on Amazon is defective. I received the scale today. It's a nice size for me, and at first impression the scale appeared to work as advertised. However, the "On/Off" button does not work. The scale had an Auto-off feature which turns the scale off after 90 seconds of use. Since my power button does not work, the only way to turn the scale back on is by flipping it over and popping the batteries in and out (and praying). This is a TREMENDOUS hassle when you're trying to precisely measure out milligrams. The scale is also not the most accurate, it fluctuates approx +/- .015. This is fine for my purpose but it may cause issue for you.Bottom line: Don't buy this scale, spend a little more and get something slightly better quality.
Save yourself the headache. You never get the same weight twice.
March 24, 2015
You may as well save $10 and just guess the weight yourself. Even after calibrating, and letting a friend try, it don't read the same weight twice for the same item. Example; put a nickel on it which should be 5g.... Sometimes it will read as close as 5.6, take it off it reads -2.4.... Put it back on it reads 4.7.... Reset it/ zero it.. Yeah it will read 0... But measure the nickel again and it may read 3.6, or 7.2..... Save yourself the headache
