Five Star Reviews: | 46% Perfect gift August 11, 2015 My son was thrilled perfect for him and his young friends ( they are 8) when they want to hunt for Bigfoot or wolf man in the yard. great May 21, 2014 loved this product ,helped me in finding dear ,before sun rose ,so knew what was there and where great great Nice priced night vision monocular January 2, 2013 For the price this night vision monocular works for my purpose. Although I bought this to be able to see deer around my property still have not been lucky one passing by at night. But it works well being able to see lit up my acre property in pitch darkness country farm. | 26% TOY...*NOT* "Night Vision" = Great for tots! October 25, 2015 For little kids FUN ONLY.(I have no clue how this is a #1 best seller in the Hunting category? ) This flimsy plastic *TOY* has two tiny blue LCD lights on the side of yellow tinted goggle lenses with a huge battery pack in rear. No, you're NOT going to "see in the dark"....it's not even a good flash light. No, you're NOT going to see 5 feet in the dark, let alone the advertised 25 feet.Yes, you're going to laugh & have fun because they're funky & even a great futuristic costume add-on for PLAY, at any age...BUT, IMHO your 5-10 year old is going to enjoy these the most....and, if you ever do see a "hunter" wearing these. ..RUN! (remember zig zag) LOLRated 5 Star based solely on uniqueness and play fun. ..Rated Negative 100 as 'functional "vision'. |
Four Star Reviews: | 27% Great teen gift April 5, 2017 Bought this for my adolescent son for a birthday gift, crossing my fingers that it would work decently. It actually does! It's not a top of the line expensive piece of equipment, but he took it outside that night and we could see a lot of neat things on our land. Would buy it again. Good Gift January 6, 2017 Gave to my husband as a Christmas present. He really liked it at thought it worked well. Works surprisingly well for price August 27, 2016 Purchased this to with wildlife at night. I'm surprised how well it works. Very happy I got what I expected. June 20, 2014 The Viewer arrived with no problems. It's what I expected: a decent scope that works quite well for it's price. I'm no expert, but enjoy fiddling with it and the kids love it, too. My next purchase might be a scope with infrared capabilities. A friend of mine got one the same day I got mine. It produces some very neat images. Nice product June 14, 2014 I bought this as a gift but was a little skeptical so i tried it before I gave it. It worked very well, and has a clear image. | 11% Fun toy that is well made February 10, 2017 These are what they are... please don't expect anything remotely resembling true night-vision goggles. They have LED lights on the side that light the path of vision. That said, we got them for our six-year-old and he loves them. I like them because he can wear them around the back yard and I know exactly where he is at all times. The product is a great toy for children February 14, 2016 The product is a great toy for children. Thought I was purchasing an item for an adult. Seller worked with me and I am highly satisfied with everything. |
Three Star Reviews: | 12% It's okay December 30, 2016 Nothing to rave about. It's really only good for about 20- 25 yards for any sort of detail of what you're looking at. Seems well made though. Overall I will wait and save some money up to purchase a superior product that can be used to have good streaming ... January 31, 2015 For a low cost night vision I can't complain. Though for me it will get very little use. It is not practicle to use for walking in the dark with. you can see ok with it as long as you stay very still. Overall I will wait and save some money up to purchase a superior product that can be used to have good streaming night vision while walking in the dark. I bought as a gift for my nephew who is ... January 24, 2015 I bought as a gift for my nephew who is only mildly impressed - I think kids are used to 3D and color and HD clarity which this does not have and is not expected at this level of night vision goggle - I think he will appreciate more when he takes this to his cabin this summer where he will not have the city lights he has in Seattle. Decent for fun March 18, 2014 This ended up being exactly what I thought that it would be - a fun "toy" to play around with after dark. I would never consider using it for anything serious or critical. It has a range of about 70 yards, although I was able to pick out some deer that were several hundred yards away in the moonlight. It has a refresh rate in the black and white viewfinder that is a little slow, so movement is displayed with some stuttering. Battery life seems to be good. If your kid wants to watch wildlife at night, this will make him/her happy. My first impressions... July 13, 2012 Ok. So i intended to use this for hunting. I hunt wild boars in the evenings. Therefore, NV is a very important for me. My first impressions can be summoned in pros and cons. PROS: small, light weight CONS: eats batteries, makes loud clicks when you turn it on (and this is not just one click, because in order to see in pitch dark, you have to click like 5 times to get to the highest IR illumination. Picture is little weird to be.While other NV I owned had little greenish, but real time picture, this one has almost black and white picture, that seems like digital, because there is a slight delay. I compared this item to my yukon NV and I have to say that yukon has won. Even though it is bulkier, yukon has a better picture, and its definitely better on the batteries. Plus, in the dusk conditions, yukon can work without IR, while XGEN, due to a small lens cannot work without IR at all. In summary, if you are looking something to play with, I guess its fine. However, if you are in need of a decent NV for hunting and similar, I would suggest spending extra $50-$70 and getting something better. | 16% Not real nightvision! Just a goof for kids December 20, 2015 My son wanted this for his Halloween costume.THIS IS NOT NIGHT VISIONHe wanted it to look like a spy in one of his video games. They light up and the light they throw off is good for a kid who wants to goof off in the dark. |
Two Star Reviews: | 7% Disappointing Night Vision Viewer February 13, 2014 It looks good and does work but what you see in the dark looks more or less very blurry. The field of view is very limited and it is difficult to distinguish anything clearly. My test lasted about 10 minutes so my review will be equally brief. Everything was very fuzzy even when the unit was adjusted . Viewing through the unit was also very uncomfortable. To be fair, I am not usually thrilled with looking through binoculars so looking through a monocular type device was even more uncomfortable. The time I spent looking around my back yard, I had a hard time identifying a large white canoe stored towards the back edge of the yard. I could identify some of the trees as trees but smaller things were too unclear to identify. Perhaps my expectations were too great but I believe a $1 flashlight would be a better choice and you could save your money for better things. Night Owl Xgen 2X January 25, 2013 It works, but not very well unless something is reflective it just does not show. It is not good enough to walk in a familiar place in a half moon. | 8% Just was not happy with it and how they performed April 5, 2017 Just was not happy with it and how they performed. The price was good but the performance just met the price not high quailty so you get wht you pay for as they say. Not super impressed. December 16, 2015 Not comfortable at all, and not super impressed with the "night vision" a lighted headband or one of those that clip on your hat would do just as well without the goggle effect. |
One Star Reviews: | 8% Horrible. Can't see much after 5 feet. April 10, 2017 If you need these for more than 5 feet away, do not get them. Nothing is recognizable after 5 feet. Get what we pay for, I guess. Gone back December 4, 2015 Returned it because it simply did not provide the night vision I was expecting. With little light you might see 10 feet, but I needed something to go much further and have whatever I was looking at to be recognizable. I literally had better night vision without it November 19, 2015 I literally had better night vision without it. Well, up to about ten feet or so from the unit with the IR turned on I could see "slightly" better but there was a bright enough moon to see across the open field and pick out details of the trees on the other side and through the viewfinder I couldn't even see the field much less the trees much less details of them. I assumed bad reviews of this gen of optics were exaggerated; apparently not. Broke after very little use July 23, 2015 I used this item not even a dozen times in the last year and it already doesn't work. It never got wet. It was never dropped. In fact it still looks brand new, but it just doesn't work. Not worth the money November 23, 2014 This was my first night vision so I have nothing else to compare it to but save your money it's not worth it in my opinion. I bought it to use as a hunting tool to see if there was any deer in the fields before walking to the stand. Field of view just plan out sucks. And very small... Kind of hurts your eye to look thru it if your scouting for longer periods of time.. It claims to be able to see 70yrds I say 30 to 40 at the most in an open field. In the woods, forget it... The mourning I tested it in woods, i couldn't even mske out trees.. I could see better with out it. Just my opinion. I wonder if I can get a refund... | 39% Save yourself the disappointment and look for a better one December 27, 2016 Don't buy. My son wont even wear it because the pointed part on the bottom of the nose digs into his face and if its loosened it falls off, so either he walks around with a hurt face or getting cranky cause it wont stay up cause its too heavy from the battery pack on the back. I was going to send it back but it would have cost me $11.48 just to ship it back which would only give me a few buck for a refund. Save yourself the disappointment and look for a better one, I wish I did. These things are crap. February 16, 2016 They are so bad that they make it harder to see than if I didn't have them on. ... be able to see something even then still not good don't buy you wer January 24, 2016 Got a used pair all scratched lens and whoever had it before left hair in it and if lens was not scratched might be able to see something even then still not good don't buy you wer warned Such a waste! 1st off they should not be called night ... November 26, 2015 Such a waste! 1st off they should not be called night vision glasses! Not by a long shot. These are just sunglasses with a green tint and two blue lights that turn on and shine in your peripheral. Secondly, you can only see anything that is within 2 feet of you.Total waste of money!!!!! This is a toy for 5 years old babies November 19, 2015 This is the worst thing that I have ever purchased. Only the pop out lights are lightning your way. NO night vision on this thing. This is a 5 years old toy. Very misleading November 18, 2015 Found these in the sporting goods department. Don't work and they are cheaply made. Not worth your money you can find better on Walmart.com |
