helps taking shower
July 17, 2017
my wife is 74 and has trouble taking a shower. I bought her the drive medical shower chair to help. she says its a little bit too large for are small shower. she was able to take a shower while sitting in the chair. I think it will take a little time getting use to it. update 9/20/17. we have a small shower and this chair take up a lot of room. she said she had a problem trying to clean the back side. are shower is 35 x 35 inches.
Very pleased and completely confident in it's stability. Recommended.
June 17, 2017
Got this and set it up for my senior mom. Fits in her standard size tub perfectly and has a trustworthy stability. I also added one of those screw down clamp hand rails on the side of her tub and she can transition into the tub easily and condidently. It assembled very eaily and is made of a quality thick plastic. Was worried that it would be questionable but after putting it together and my mom trying it out, it is worth every cent. Legs screw in almost 3 inches deep and can't imagine any circumstances where they could break or give out. I wouldn't risk my mom's safety and this chair reduces risk so she no longer has to sit down in the tub which can be a chore getting out. Very pleased.
Easy to put together
May 27, 2017
Easy to put together, and a really great Chair. It has all of the things I was looking for at a great price! So glad I didn't go to the drug store.I have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. I am currently having a hard time, so I was looking for a way to make my shower safer. It has arms, many chairs don t. These make it much easier to go from sitting to standing. The legs have rubber tips. This baby doesn't slide. It also has slots in the seat, another important feature to me. I don't sit in a puddle, and I don't have to worry about mold. I highly recommend this chair, and am so happy that I bought it!
Perfect for post surgery
April 25, 2015
Let me start with a few quick facts. I'm 5'7 and weigh over 200 lbs. I had knee surgery and this chair is perfect for me. I found out about this chair at the rehab facility. They had a smaller chair but as soon as I sat in this one I knew it was for me. If you are a smaller person you can definitely get a smaller chair. The chair has 2 handles but I didn't use them. I highly recommend you get a long shower hose. I think mine is 5 or 6 feet. You can then sit comfortably and wash your hair. After a couple of uses I realized it was little low and bothering my knee. Then I remembered. I could adjust the leg height. I raised it 3 notches and now it's perfect.
Great Buy for smaller tubs!
February 28, 2015
Arrived two days earlier then predicted. Easy to put together. I did find the extending of the legs a little challenging due to having arthritis in my hands, but once I got them loose then they turned no problem. Very stable! I bought this specifically based on the reviews of the dimensions and fit. I have a narrow tub and have been looking for something more sturdier than a stool for my daughter, who is disabled. I have tried other bath seats and they are all way to big. This is a perfect fit
Good chair-would buy again
November 1, 2013
Good Quality, easy to put together, sturdy. I would buy again and/or recommend to a friend. The feet of the chair outside to outside at the foot base is 17.5 inches. My bathtub bottom is 18.5 (in the flat part, before the gradual curve upward) so the chair fits nicely.

just what we needed
June 15, 2017
This is wonderful. It is just what my husband needed for help up and down. Warning -- if you already have a high toilet this might make it too high. Take that into consideration. We are both very tall so we (barely) escaped having to return it. I like that fact that it is hinged for proper cleaning. Also it is easy to install.
Excellent and easy to install!
May 15, 2017
I purchase this for my grandfather ... and my mother who takes care of him. My grandfather is 86 years old and a three time stroke survivor. While he still has mobility getting up and down has become difficult. He gave me quite the complaint after installing it ... until he used it. Once he realized how much easier it was to get up from the toilet he was quite happy with it. My mother has a hip injury and will be having hip replacement surgery soon so I am hoping she will also benefit.
Solid product
December 6, 2016
I bought this for my 76 year old Mom after hip surgery. It s a very solid seat and helps her now son much easier to get up. What I personally like best that the lid can close with this one and the arms remove so when I have other guest in the guest room it's barley noticeable thst it is a medical toilet seat. My husband said it was easy install.
Outstanding seat...very stable and easy to install
April 11, 2016
Going to install when it arrives and I think it will work well. After reading reviews, I'm concerned about stability and also being able to clean this seat: Essential Medical Supply Elevated Toilet Seat with Arms. It seems like it would have to be removed completely in order to clean it and the toliet. Will use giant wire ties to secure the seat and then be able to remove and reinstall quickly. It might even be more stable than using bolts because of the lateral tension of wrapping a tie through each hole then around either side. Wish me luck!Update: The wire ties didn't work and left the seat too loose, but the extended bolts that come it with have wing nuts that are a breeze to install (and uninstall for any thorough cleaning). The seat is very tightly held in place and looks terrific, very high tech like it belongs on a spaceship lol.We got the standard size which fit the bowl that measures 16.5 inches from bolt holes to the front, outside edge. You add your favorite toilet seat and end up with 5 inches of added height which is just what our elderly mother needed. This replaced a floor standing over-the-toilet commode that was just too bulky and cumbersome for her bathroom.
"Taller than handicap accessible toilet!"
February 23, 2015
This riser fits on my half-bath toilet. What I like so much about it is that when it is added to the regular toilet base, the stool is taller than a handicap accessible toilet. I am tall and after having a hip replacement, I needed a taller toilet. Once added, the regular toilet seat sits on top of the riser which allows you to put the seat down on the toilet. Had been looking at handicap accessible toilets prior to purchasing the riser. It was so much cheaper purchasing this and was very easy to install. What I like the most is that the seat can be lowered. You don't even notice the riser! The riser doesn't affect how you would normally clean the stool. I would definitely recommend this product.
Affordable with excellent functionality.
January 22, 2015
have purchased a few of these and they are a consistent hit. PROS: raises the seat height while keeping the aesthetics of the toilet essentially normal--not fancy or elegant, but more or less normal. adjustable slots allow for a variety of positions to accommodate various toilet shapes. easy to install. Feels sturdy--unlike clamp on "top of the toilet" risers--at a lower cost!! Bonus!! CONS: it's still a piece of plastic under your toilet seat which may get soiled and need extra cleaning. It doesn't perfectly fit all toilets--acceptability may vary depending on how particular your user is in the function vs. fashion dept. For the ultimate experience, one needs to pay much more than $25--either get a whole new toilet, or try the "Toilevator".

Great shower head!
December 27, 2016
The shower head installed very easily; they even give you plumber's tape! I like the very flexible and long hose, and the light weight of the shower head. I like that there is an on/off control on the wand. Be careful of the on/off switch in the handle. I thought my water pressure was low but then realized I had turned the switch on the handle! Ha! The three settings are adequate for my needs. My main concern is the longevity of the product. We'll see how long this one lasts. So far though I really like this shower head!
Makes bathing babies and dogs a breeze!
June 16, 2014
Purchased this right after our newborn came home from the hospital and realizing how much of a hassle it is to give a baby bath with just a cup to use for rinsing. This makes bathing so much easier and more pleasant. It is also great for giving our dogs indoor baths as well, because using a cup for rinsing in that situation is also a pain. The product was easily assembled by my husband. At first he thought we got a broken one because when he turned the water on, it only trickled out of the head. He quickly discovered the adjustable flow feature at the base of the handle and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use and adjust. We left out the red water restrictor piece, so if we wanted, we could have it flowing full blast with great water pressure. I love how we can adjust the flow to a gentler, more baby friendly setting.Another great thing is the stainless steel hose. It's not cheap, flimsy plastic like a lot of the other hoses out there. Sometimes wish the showerhead part had a stainless steel finish, as the white color does make it look a little cheap, but it does not affect the quality. All in all, a great product at even greater pricing!*UPDATE - 11/15*Product is still working great, I even purchased one for my parents' house so bathing our toddler there would be easy. A+*UPDATE - 9/17*From all of the flow adjusting that happens between a child's shower/bath and an adult's shower, we have found that the handle starts to leak. Twice now the handle has started spraying water out with force, which would normally signal a broken item. My hubby has been able to fix the issue both times, but due to the nature of the flow adjust (twisting the bottom of the handle), you end up loosening the nut inside the handle that holds everything together. Even with this issue, which took awhile to manifest itself, I think it's a good showerhead. If you don't have tools to fix the problem, you may not feel the same.If you found this review helpful, please click YES or HELPFUL below!
Purchase for my mother
February 7, 2014
I purchased this for my elderly mother along with a bath bench so that she could sit while showering. She said it took a few times using it to get used to a handheld (which she'd never used before) from a permanent shower head. Now she prefers this handheld sprayer. I also purchased the inexpensive suction cup held holder for this so that she doesn't have to stand up in the bathtub/shower to lather her hair, etc. She merely hooks it onto the holder which we suction-cupped within reach of her bath bench. Works great!
Nice product
January 31, 2014
I bought a $75 Moen from HD that leaked and wouldn't stay in place. I returned it. I decided to try this cheapo thing. How bad could it be? Well it's pretty nice. Install is a piece of cake (leave out the water choke as one reviewer said). No leaks. Holds nicely and delivers a nice shower. All this plus a long hose to rinse out the neighboring Jaccuzzi. Only wish, it had a nice brushed nickel finish. This was a good deal!
works great
July 1, 2013
I've got to be honest. The only reason I purchased the AquaSense 3 shower spray with ultra long stainless steel hose is because of the less than $20, price and I only wanted so I could bathe the dogs. But I actually like it. The longer hose makes rinsing my hair so much easier than our current rain shower- shower head. The 'longer hose on this makes it from my shower pipe in the wall to the end of the bathtub with about a foot left over without stretching so it worked out well when I bathed the dog and he ran to the end of the tub. The shower head is lightweight which is a plus for me.There's only 3 settings on this. The first one just uses the center holes so the spray is forceful and concentrated. . I use it for rinsing out the bathtub. The other setting uses the center holes and the outer holes so the spray in the center is more forceful than the outer spray. My husband prefers that setting, and the last setting uses all the holes equally so it's just a normal spray great for showering.Installation is a piece of cake. The give you the plumbers tape to wrap around the pipe so it fits snugly and doesn't leak.. I didn't recognize it as plumbers tape at first, because it's packaged to look like a small spool of thread ) There are large pictures on the directions showing how to put the shower together, but you can easily figure it out just by looking at the unconnected parts. There is a water saver piece. It's red and it's got tiny holes in it so it's easy to identify. I just left it off so I'm not sure how much it would interfere in the water flow from the sprayer. Without it, the spray is normal shower head spray. If you turn your faucet up high, the water pressure in the shower head is more forceful. If you prefer less forceful water, turn your faucet down. You get the picture. There is a piece that you can attach that allows you to turn off the water at the sprayer. You don't need it if you don't want to screw it on. The shower works without it.. I put it on and when I turned the water off using that piece the water still came out of the shower head but not a lot. It didn't completely stop the water but it slowed it down a heck of a lot so it didn't spray all over. That feature came in handy when I had to stop spraying the dog and soap it up. Then when I was ready to rinse the dog, I just turned the little knob again. This product seems like it might last a long time. The shower head itself is lightweight, but it appears sturdy. The hose seems sturdy too and doesn't look like it's going to break any time soon.I think it's a great buy especially for the price.. I've only used it twice so far but if I have any problems or if it breaks, I'll update my review and let you know.
Just what I expected
January 21, 2013
When I first assembled and installed this, I balked at the amazingly poor water pressure my shower now had. Then I came on amazon and read some reviews. A few other folks had the same problem. Then I did a little research (I did the whole process backwards, right?). If you assemble the sprayer EXACTLY like it is in the main picture here, you will have no low water pressure issues. There's a silver connecting piece that goes from the hand unit to the hose; don't use it. This is the choke on the water pressure. Once I removed that from my assembly, the sprayer worked exactly how I'd hoped it would.HTH

Safe grip
October 29, 2017
Purchased this to help me stand up in shower and beside toilet. Had foot surgery and will be non weight bearing for 12 weeks and didn’t want to permanently drill holes in the wall for a bar. This was easy to install Ns easy to test for secure hold, have been using it for 3 days now and it hasn’t moved or lost its suction on the wall of the bathroom or the wall of the shower highly recommend for temporary help in getting up
Great for pregnancy too!
July 13, 2017
I have just started my third trimester. As my stomach has grown I can definitely tell my sense of balance is off. Having a suction bath mat in the floor of my shower did not help much because the floor is slightly textured so the mat won't stay suctioned for long. After rinsing off suds, my walk in shower feels like I'm standing on banana peels soaked in oil lol. I bought two of these, one for the actual shower wall (like a re-bath material) and one across from it on the glass enclosure. They have a great grip! I still move slowly and take my time, but these really help make me feel safer as I turn around in the shower.
Very nice: Works with trapped air "suction" a little air ...
May 20, 2017
Very nice: Works with trapped air "suction" a little air will come out over time. I have found if you release the lock lever about every 10 days or so, then press the locking lever down again locking in a fresh batch of air the unit will work just great. The air issue is not a defect, it is something that happens to all locking devices. It works great on sliding glass doors. the kind that can pinch a finger. 5 Stars pric and value work out well, make are a good buy.
This is a great product, and really a good value
January 9, 2017
This is a great product, and really a good value. I saw a similar grip bar at a Marriott, and thought it would work great in our shower. No holes to drill in tile, or metal bars to rust. This attaches with 2 suction cups, and really locks on the tile.I put two in the shower in our master bath, on opposite walls, and feel safe when getting in and out of the shower. I will buy several more for other tubs in the house.Fully recommend this product and seller.
Great grip
October 2, 2016
My elderly mother lives with me and it's been getting harder for her to get in and out of the shower. I bought her a shower stool as well as this grip bar so she can take a shower safely. This grip bar is great. It very easily suctions on to the shower wall and once it's there it stays put until you move it. Very easy to use, just flip the tabs to get it to suction on or to release the suction. This has really made a difference for my mother and I wish I had bought this long ago. This would also be awesome for little kids for getting them in to, and out of a bath!
Gives great support as long as you have large tiles.
August 13, 2016
Used this after ankle surgery for my shower. My wife made sure I knew I wouldn't be drilling any holes in the wall for support, so this was my answer. Must have room for it to fit in the middle of a tile (can not span across grout, or it won't stick). It has a disclaimer sticker that says it's just for balancing and do not put your full weight on it. Well I've pulled myself up using it several times, no problem, and feels 100% stable. I'm almost 300 pounds, so I think that's a pretty good test of the performance.

Sturdy shower chair.
July 28, 2017
Overall a sturdy shower chair but you may have to leave the handles off. Could be made deeper from back to front. It works for what it was intended. I think I will invest in a walk in tub though in the spring. Great for short term use though or if you prefer showers to baths.
Very large - check dimensions & measure your tub
June 7, 2017
Chair is MUCH larger (wider) than I expected. It only fit sideways in my tub (facing out), and then my legs barely fit in front of it. To be fair, the dimensions are posted. I just assumed it was small enough to fit in a normal sized tub. I expected to face it toward the showerhead with my legs in front of me. It is a well made chair, easy to assemble and fully adjustable. But check the dimensions and measure it against your tub! If you are a smaller person, you will do better with a smaller chair.
Too tall at shortestsetting
April 15, 2017
I would much prefer that it had a lower setting, as, if I am in the tub, on the bottom of the tub, it is just slightly too high for me to be able to push off and get myself into the chair. It's fine if you just want to sit in the chair and never get submerged, but that only allows a portion of legs into the water. If there happened not to be a shower (and I've lived places where there was not), it would be of very limited help. Are there alternate, shorter, legs which could be substituted?
NICE
March 13, 2017
I really like this chair for the tub/shower. It was really easy to put together. I noticed in using it, the legs need to be checked once a week to be tightened(see if legs need to be screwed back in a bit). That is the only "problem" I found with it. Delivered quickly and it wasn't over packed. I recommend the seller, would purchase from them again.
Safe, secure, meets all our needs
March 13, 2017
Works great. Snaps together. Made entirely from easy to clean and disinfect plastic. Very secure seat that fits perfectly in my standard size tub. Lots of hand holds which makes it very easy to use in conjunction with grab bars in the tub/shower enclosure. The guy who installed the safety features in the bathroom noticed it, said he's seen a lot of them and commented it's one of the best. A little pricier than some on the site but worth it.
Be careful as the legs become loose. Make sure ...

Be careful as the legs become loose. Make sure you tighten them daily. I had to use this due to having a bone spurs removed off my heal. I'm a big guy and it supported me with no issues but the legs coming loose after use.

Great product, Does what its supposed to, and easy to install.
August 20, 2017
Great product for elevating the toilet seat. My moms bathroom is old and has a very low toilet, making it hard for her to get up and putting extra wear and tear on her knees. This was easy to install, and other then it occasionally moving a bit side to side if your sit down without a bit of caution, it works great. Love the handles to push off of, and it is better looking then some of the seat risers I've seen before. Overall win win!
It was pretty easy to install
July 18, 2017
My dad needed this product after his car accident in which he broke his hip. The height was exactly what he needed and the handles on either side really helped stabilize him when he let go of the walker or cane. It was pretty easy to install. A few things to consider - you can't clean under the elevated portion of the toilet seat without unscrewing it. Also, there is no latch to hold the front of the seat in place so there is some slight side-to-side movement at the front when you put weight on the handles. I ended up using duck tape on either side to keep it from moving. It isn't beautiful to look at but it works perfectly and the seat does not move. I would recommend it.
Overall, very good riser seat
July 5, 2017
Very nice seat. I like that you can take one handle off if you want. The trouble that we ran into is that though the handles are removeable, the button to do the removing is underneath hidden between the eleveated seat and the original top of the toilet bowl. So, you would have to unscrew it to get at the buttons- not something you can do everytime you want to use it. We need follow the directives of another that said to use RUBBER washers and that is essential and worked well. It was very easy to put on and has been very useful.
Happy with it, but........
May 19, 2017
This seat has enabled my husband to get up by himself, which makes both of us happy. The sturdiness of the installation, not so much. The long bolts provided tighten nicely, but loosen very easily, also, making the seat non-sturdy as it moves back and forth. I have tried putting non-skid things under the seat, but nothing seems to last. If anyone has a solution to this issue, I'd be glad to hear it. Still, I am happy to have the seat - just have to keep a close eye on fasteners and movement.
Helps my father be more independent
December 21, 2016
My dad suffered a stroke a few years ago and getting up and down from the toilet has proven difficult. This has made a huge difference for him. He is able to use the bathroom independently and can get on and off easily. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there is a little wiggle to the seat when attached even after my husband tightening it. Not enough that it's not secure but would have preferred it had a bit better fit as I'm not sure the impact it will have over an extended time.
Good product but poor hardware included with the product. Read the review before trying to install.
December 17, 2016
In response to other reviewers who left negative comments about the stability issues. I have solved the issue and it's a small wonder why the manufacturer hasn't done this. Yes, as ordered the elevated toilet seat is unstable. You simply cannot put plastic washers up against a porcelain toilet seat. Second there is no toilet seat sold that accommodates the large bolts included with this elevated seat. You have to drill out the holes on your existing seat. This is just plain lack of insight on the part of the manufacturer. Here is the fix. On the existing toilet seat you need to drill out the clamp down holes so that the larger bolts will fit through. This is easy if you have a drill. Second; the stability can be solved by using a rubber garden hose washer sandwiched between the porcelain toilet and a metal (zinc) washer. Then put rubber pads on the bottom of the elevated seat between the porcelain toilet and the elevated seat. These rubber pads are the same pads you put on the bottom of table legs or chair legs to keep them from scuffing a wooden floor. Again, the manufacturer should could easily fix this problem if they ever cared enough to READ REVIEWS. Took me about 15 minutes to install. I only needed a large flat blade screw driver and a drill. Before installing; go to the hardware store and pick up 2 rubber garden hose washers, 2 zinc washers same size as rubber washers, and finally a package of rubber floor glides.

Great buy.
September 18, 2017
Easy to install just like others have stated and I love how long of a reach it has. I wish it did come with an additional holder that could be attached to the wall at a lower level being that I'm short and it's a chore with my back putting it up in place and taking it down to use as a handheld. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars, I did leave the red piece out like others noted to improve the water flow. Still to I wish the flow was just a little stronger but can change the settings and I like that. I do miss the stronger flow from my other shower head but love ease of using this as a hand held.
Pretty good for the price.
June 17, 2017
Product is as described. Easy to install (provided your existing setup isn't to blame). The extra long hose is nice, we use it with our baby's bathtub, reaches far enough to make bathtime easy without too much excess. The middle setting isn't too harsh for baby and he seems to enjoy it. Would prefer if the pipe portion was metal, not sure how long the plastic will hold up.
Your mom will like it.
July 9, 2015
I got this for my mother, who likes to sit in the tub and wash her hair before filling the tub with bathwater. This handheld shower has a nice, long slinky hose. Plenty long enough to hook to the soap dish with the portable grip. The hose is stainless steel and quite flexible, being made with links instead of the stiffer mesh I've seen on some other hoses. There is an on/off switch to stop the flow of water while attending to tasks like scrubbing hair. The picture at the top is apparently of an older model that used a button. The customer supplied image is accurate: it is a twist nozzle now. If there are any weak spots in the assembly, that on/off switch will be your leak test. The water has nowhere to go but back out whatever spot is not adequately covered. And on that note, I highly recommend you to use your own plumber's tape instead of the straggly bit they give you in the package. Also, even though this unit is supposed to be tool-free installation, I recommend using a wrench to tighten the connections. If you want higher water pressure, I will chime in with everybody else to recommend leaving the red washer out of the assembly, because that red piece will slow the flow of water by quite a bit. The shower head itself is of a decent size and has the usual three massage settings: misty rain, hard rain and drill a pothole rain.
I CAN ENJOY A GOOD SHOWER.
March 1, 2015
This hand-held shower is adjustable three ways - focused pulsing stream, diffused but more penetrating streams along the outside of the shower head, and a softer, diffused rain-shower type of stream. The shower head can also be turned off (mostly) by rotating a shut-off valve at the bottom of the shower wand. I say mostly, because mine still allows some water to leak into the tub. This is a mixed blessing: I find the hot water accumulates and gravitates to the shower head, so when you turn the water back on you'll want to be sure to allow the water to run into the tub or shower stall for maybe 20-30 seconds to even out the water temperature again so you don't get scalded by hot water. I do very much appreciate the 80" hose, which allows me to sit at the farthest back position in my tub and still reach all my body parts, especially my back. I also look forward to using it to bathe my dog as soon as the weather warms a bit -- I'll be able to really reach her underside, which I couldn't really with the shorter hose my last shower wand sported. My water bill has dropped a bit, also, since using this shower wand because I installed the device that cuts water usage while still providing adequate water to bathe. The hose was very easy to put together and install -- without tools of any kind. It does not leak at the water pipe. I am very pleased, and were it not for what I consider a safety issue with scalding water would give it five stars. I'm not sure how the manufacturer could fix this problem -- it may just be a fact of hot and cold water mixing.

there are things i like, things that could be better. guess you can say that about anything you buy. well we love the fact this has the extra long hose that does not curl. often you will find inexpensive replacement 'telephone' showers, only to find out they have a VERY cheap plastic hose (colored to look like metal) or a plastic hose inside a cheap metal casing and as you may know with plastic tubing - it is kind of like a wire...after it has been curled into a circle and remained in that position for some time, it tends to remain in that position. that is true for anything manufactured and placed into a coil. but this shower hose appears to be real metal on the outside (probably a plated metal) over a rubber hose and the result is a hose that hangs perfectly down when the shower is in the cradle. many times with the 'cheap' showers the 'curl' i was talking about will cause the shower head to 'rotate' to face the wall or the shower curtain.things we love: long non curling hose, comes with the pipe tape for the threads so it won't leak (not yet anyhow), fits snugly in the cradle, assembles easily. water pressure is OK (don't put in the 'water saver' device) - but the disappointment in the pressure is probably our water pressure and not the shower head.things that could be better: only 2 options for shower. 1 is the traditional 'rain' you would expect. not sure what the other setting is supposed to be. maybe a 'water pik' massage setting? doesn't really work for us, but we are in an older home built in the 70's and the mains are probably on 1/2 inch and that results in a lower pressure. the other thing we did not like was the 'shut off' that comes with the shower. the box would indicate a 'lever' for an on off. what you get is a TWIST on/off for the water flow. benefits of the 'lever' kind? you can stop the flow with one hand. benefits of the twist kind? NOTHING. requires 2 hands to shut it off.overall, we are very pleased. only gets 4 stars because of the 'twist off/on' water stop on the shower head
Not that difficult but I wouldn't call it easy and definitely not tool free. but it does come with the teflon tape.
July 20, 2014
First off, the people who said you don't need tools are clearly stronger than meSecondly, anyone who said it is simple is more used to this stuff than me.BUT most importantly - it comes with a little spool of teflon tape so that is something you don't need to buy separately. On the other hand if you don't have a wrench - unless you are reallly strong and/or coordinated - you are going to need one.So it comes in pieces. If you are like me and think "simple" and "easy" means "just screw one part on" then know that it isn't quite that simple or easy. There are four main parts and three what I think are washers and one screen type of thing. I'm not sure which connections require the teflon tape, I'm going with just the one coming out of the wall. All in all though it's maybe a half hour job. Unless you need to go buy a wrench and hope the four dollar one at the drugstore is good enough. All in all, it's doable. Don't really expect it to last forever but for the price if I can get a couple of years out of it I'll consider it a deal.

Great foot rest for shaving legs
July 3, 2017
Worked well for my purpose - a place to prop my foot while shaving my legs. I used this on a cruise because I heard the showers were small with no place to prop your foot. I tried it at home first and it took a couple attempts before I got a good lock and it would support my leg weight. Worked fine on the ship. I'm not sure I would use this as a primary support if I needed help getting in and out of the shower daily, but it could work if someone checked it frequently.
Firm Grip
March 26, 2017
After several tries I got the placement correct and it's firmly attached. The only issue is that it's just a tad too short to fit exactly within a 4 inch tile. It has been in place for several weeks now and feels as firmly placed as when I first installed it. I think it's important to wipe the tile with alcohol to remove any soap or scum, and the tiles need to be smooth, not textured.
Temporary
December 8, 2016
I recently had surgery and needed to be able to "grab" something to help me lift up or down. This has been a tremendous help. I have a solid shower material and the bar has been great. In the commode area my walls couldn't hold the suction grip I needed. I used the flat surface of the back of the door which worked for me. For my short term needs this was great as long as I don't rely 100% for lift and balance. If you are looking for someone elderly or needs to rely on the bars to steady I would go for professionally installed bars to be 100% safe. Tem
Strong, sturdy grip to flat surfaces; easy to use levers.
April 24, 2014
I already owned one of these (MHI brand) shower handles and needed a second one to install in another spot. As long as you're applying the suction cups to a flat surface, this baby will mount well. What makes the suction cups grip better (than other "locking" cups) is the built-in compression spring trapped between the topside of each cup and (hidden from view) underside of the each mouth at the ends of the handle. Rotating the levers downward compresses the springs, increasing the normal (orthogonal) load on each cup, pushing out the air underneath them, creating a better partial vacuum which in turn gives the cups better suction.
Glad I did not return it.....make sure to wet it first!
May 9, 2013
The handle fell a few times after placing it in different areas of the bathroom, even on smooth large tiles. I was ready to return it when I decided to read most of the reviews and noticed one where the reviewer made the suggestion of wetting it at the corners. I am so glad I did not return it! I wetted it lightly all around the edges of the cups and have had it up for over 2 weeks now and it is so firm that I feel very secured when I get in and out of the tub. I have it placed in the bathtub which is made of fiberglass and not exactly 100% smooth, it is barely noticeable but it has a slight corrugated design. You almost need a magnifier to notice it; I mention it only as reference.Update two months later. The handle fell and I had some problems keeping it in place. I was wetting only the outer part of the round portion. I wetted the entire inner part of the cups and so far the handle has been holding firm for the last 4 days.
Good in the correct context

I am an occupational therapist who does home health with geriatric patients. I am constantly searching for certain adaptive equipment to make my patients' bathrooms safer. As unfortunate as it is, many people are unwilling to give up aesthetics for safety! That means they won't install real grab bars into their tiled showers because it will mess up their tile. That's where this product comes in handy. I looked at several different brands before purchasing this one for my patients. I have since tried it on many different surfaces and it works with varying results depending on where you position it.I've tried it on walls - it sticks...for about 1/2 hour. Don't do it. You'll end up hurting yourself! Even if your wall isn't textured it will come off.If you're using it as a handle on the edge of your bathtub to get in/out, it'll work great! That sucker will not come off no matter how hard you tug on it. Plus, it's not high enough to catch your legs when you're trying to get your legs over the edge (thinking more of geriatric patients who have hip and knee range of motion problems). In the actual shower area, your results again are varied. Your best bet is a shower that has a smooth surface, like laminate or faux tile. However, I've had fairly good results with tiled showers too. Just make sure that at least one of the suction cups is exclusively over a tiled area and not a grout area. Sometimes the grout lines don't provide the surface area that the cup needs to get a tight suction. So the long and short of it is make sure you are putting this on a surface that can get a good seal. Let the grab bar sit un-used for about 4-5 hours. If it would fall off, it will on its own during this time. After that, if it's still on, you're probably good to go. But I'd tug on it a few times to make sure. The first time I bought it, I did a few test runs on surfaces in my own home. I decided that I'd hold onto the box and all packaging and not hesitate to return it if it didn't work out. So far I've placed 4 of them in patients' homes and that says a lot because I'm the one on the line if they don't work out.Update 3/13: Fast forward a few years...I was making this recommendation to a few patients back then but only with the advice that people use it for stability only. I am now withholding even that advice. I've had a lot more experience with them now and even the brands that I was "recommending" at the time are now off my list. They can not be fully trusted and it is better to be safe than sorry, to be cliche. I hate to go back on what I said but I've seen personally even a few weeks later of a good tight seal, coming off in a person's hands. This is not good. If you live in a rental and your manager won't let you install real bars, then you may not have any other option but I would tug and check these bars daily and especially before you intend to hold it. Even in these circumstances, there are tension bars and tub clamps that may give more stability than suction cup grabbars. That's my new take.

Customizable, wide, legs sometime loosen up
September 24, 2017
I ordered this for my mother in August 2016, so she has been using it for a little over a year. It is still in good condition. She was using a stool before which had no rubber at the bottom and too low to the ground. It was going to be dangerous to continue using. I decided to browse on Amazon and I found this one. She leaves this chair in the tub 24/7. It fits our standard tub perfectly with no room to spare on the sides. The chair is bigger than I expected but I am a petite woman so most things are large to me. I didn't install the back or the handles. It is customizable which is great. Compared to some other medical chairs, it is cheaper in cost. Some minor complaints is that the legs sometime loosen up from when we move the chair forward or back so I would have to adjust the legs again from time to time or else it'll wobble. Another problem is that it does mold in the cracks/slits of the legs where it has the number levels. Something we would have to constantly clean. If something happens to this chair in the future, I would probably try a different chair.
Works ok, but prone to breakage
September 4, 2017
It was working just fine, but for the first few weeks, you MUST tighten the legs to the seat with EVERY use. Then, one day as I was moving it in the shower, the whole leg fell apart. I was able to piece and glue it back together, but for an item for the handicapped, one expects a better performance.
It is also no where near as sturdy as the metal legs shower seats
August 12, 2017
I purchased this chair because it has no metal to rust. The legs screw in instead of being bolted in; however, they will not stay secure. Every other shower you have to tighten the legs down. It is also no where near as sturdy as the metal legs shower seats.
I like that you can adjust the high
March 21, 2017
I like that you can adjust the high, but it frustrates me that every other day I am re tightening the legs. I don't know how the legs keep loosening up. As a safety precaution, before you sit on you chair, please make sure the legs are tightened.
a ;ittle massive to use at home.
November 18, 2016
This is a very well made and sturdy chair that could be a big help to people like me with some (temporary) balance issues. The reason for a lowish rating is the size. It is much bigger than you may picture. Since we have a separate and pretty large stall shower it seemed perfect for me since I was looking at two months of unsteadiness standing. This chair took up so much of the shower space, I was more afraid of falling while trying to stand near it before sitting down. Great chair if you can easily accommodate its bulk.
Okay chair, but legs come unscrewed on their own
August 27, 2016
Nice chair; it holds the weight it's supposed to, but the legs keep coming unscrewed on there own without much effort. My sister is recovering from a leg injury and keeps the chair pretty much stationary in the kitchen, but for some reason the legs keep coming unscrewed, I put the legs on myself and even stuck a long screwdriver in the holes to give me some torque, but I went to see her two days ago and one leg was just sitting in the socket. If you get this chair, just be mindful of the legs.P.S - I have the height of the chair at the highest it will go. Not sure if that means anything, but I figured I'd throw that out there.

The seat spacer works great and is very sturdy
March 13, 2017
Shipping was unacceptable. Twice the shipping date was pushed back. It took 10 days to get delivered. The bolts to mount it are 3/8 and the mount on my existing seat were 5/16. I had to purchase a new toilet seat to be able to mount with their bolts. I did not want to go lighter with the bolts due to safety concerns. The seat spacer works great and is very sturdy. The handles are firmly mounted and provide secure support. I would buy it again, but would order 2 weeks before I anticipated needing it.
A few issues
October 21, 2016
Difficult assembly as the pop out locking knobs jammed but byusing a screwdriver inside of the metal pipes I was able to position the locking system.....took almost an hour to assemble and install......still a bit loose after complete installation.
Does the job.
March 14, 2016
Unit works, but the mounting slots are so long that it keeps slipping off center. I've tightened the bolts as tight as I dare without breaking it.
It's OK but could be better
April 14, 2014
This does provide a little under 4" lift as advertised, and is very stable. It fit on our standard elongated seat toilet. The down side is that it looks in the picture like it has an edge going around it that fits down into the toilet bowl. In actuality, this is only along a 60 degree arc on the front, I suppose to keep a seated man from peeing out from under it at the front. My wife needed it and it worked for her, but since it doesn't lift, I found after a few weeks on my standing and peeing down through it into the toilet, the little splashes had accumulated under it and made it pretty nasty. I had to remove the entire seat to clean under it, a rather long process process with those really long bolts. It would be much better if that edge going into the toilet bowl went the whole way around it so stuff couldn't accumulate under it so easily. If you only had to take it off a couple times a year to clean under it, it would be much easier. I ended up replacing it with a 2" high toilet seat extender that lifted and had flights on it like a normal seat (I believe is was a Bemis).
okay but you might opt to buy some washers because the metal bolts don't come with them.
November 28, 2013
I mated this on to a Toto Ultramax Toilet; the shape was okay and fit on nice but the rear bottom back near the bolts had a gap of approximately 1/4" . When the thru bolt is tightened, it squeezes that gap closed and lifts the front up. So I put two 1/8" shims made out of rubber along the back in line with the the bolts; this corrected that problem but if asked, I could design a better attachment system for them. The bolts are standard cadmium bolts, rounded heads with wing nuts. The rounded heads prevent the seat hinge bolts holes covers from closing because they are thicker than the flat headed bolts that originally came with the seat. The wing nuts in my opinion are not suitable to bear up against the porcelain bowl without a rubber washer and metal backing one; the small surface area of the wing nut bearing against the porcelain could cause cracking so I added the washers.
Three inches do make a difference
October 29, 2013
Not too much to say. It's a good product and gets the job done (raising the height of the seat). The major drawback is that the bolts that hold it to the base loosen fairly easily, but it's not that much of a drawback to keep me from making this purchase. The highest rating should go to amazon.com. They really went way out of their way to research and resolve the problem I had in getting the order filled correctly.I had to return it twice because the company selling these things kept sending me the wrong size. Amazon.com not only solved this but paid all the shipping costs and gave me a voucher to pay the difference in the cost between the two seat risers. This is just one of many reasons that amazon.com has such a good reputation.

Just okay
October 9, 2017
Bought this to use in the shower for our dogs. It works okay, but the pressure is pretty low. It hasn’t leaked or broken, but we don’t anticipate it lasting for years. We are satisfied with the product overall for the price we paid.

Ok product like the fact you can turn off water on the sprayer handle but the hose bust shortly after using it a few times and had to by a new hose. Long hose is great for washing the pets.

For the price, it great and it works. My wife had surgery and I needed to buy a lot of things at one time. The quality it OK... if I paid more I could get better quality, but if you looking for save some money and get something that works well - get this!!! The head drips a little and I am sure it will need to be replaced in a few months, but for now it works fine and happy we were able to get it.

December 20, 2015
I purchased this item for my elderly mom. Looks like the shut off mechanism is defective because the water does not completely turn off. I tried adding plumbers tape but its not leaking from the base or knob. Water just continues to run slower from the sprayer. The water should completely turn off according to the item description. Would like the manufacturer to reach out to me. Maybe it needs a replacement part. What a shame. Would be great if it works as intended.
I would invest in something better.
January 5, 2015
I wanted to wait a month or two before reviewing this product so that I could see if it is durable. I'm giving it three stars. The pluses are that it is inexpensive (and not a total piece of garbage) and has a long hose. The negative is that it has started leaking water near the bottom of the handle. I guess for the price I understand that it's not the most durable showerhead in the world, but I thought I'd get more than a month's worth of use out of it before it started leaking. If you're looking for something temporary and cheap, this is for you. If you're planning on relying on it for many years to come, I would invest in something better.

Good Product, But Hard To Know If It Will Work In Your House
August 26, 2017
This is a good quality product, and their advertising is honest about it's limitations, but it doesn't hold on our tile (so is useless to us), and until you get one to try it, you really won't know. It wasn't worth the hassle to return so we'll give it away.
Wrong color.
June 24, 2017
The product works well and shipment was prompt, but there is one big problem. The picture shows a grip that appears to be gray and white, yet what we received as a grip that is purple! Or lilac! This is not a color that works in our bathroom or anywhere else in our house. Why I have one in this color, and why the picture on the site does not show it as such, is beyond me!
WORKS BUT CHECK TO SEE IF IT FITS YOUR TILES IN YOUR SHOWER
July 28, 2016
Changing Lifestyles Safe-er-Grip 11.5" Balance Assist BarTHIS WORKS BUT NOT FOR MY TUB AND SHOWER, YOU NEED TO FIRST MAKE SURE IF YOU HAVE TILES ON YOUR SHOWER OR NOT A FLAT SURFACE TO CHECK IF THE SUCTION CUPS WILL LINE UP PERFECT IF NOT ITS NOT GOING TO STAY. ITS KINDA HARD TO DO THAT WITHOUT BUY IT FIRST. I REALLY WANTED IT FOR THE TUB FOR MY BABY TO HOLD ON TO. BUT ITS TOO BIG FOR THE TOP OF TUB AND UNLESS YOU HAVE A PERFECTLY SQUARE TUB IT WON'T WORK FOR THE SIDE EITHER. SEEMS WELL CONSTRUCTED AND WILL WORK IF YOU HAVE FLAT SURFACE BUT MOST PEOPLE I KNOW DON'T. IF MY REVIEW AND PICTURES WERE HELPFUL PLEASE LET ME KNOW THANKS!

Doesn't fit on the tile in my bathroom. The tiles are about 3 5/8" square. I don't know if this is odd or what. I'll probably use it as another reviewer showed, with just one suction cup mounted. I got it to rest my foot on in the shower and it should suffice for that. Would be nice if the product said what size tile it was intended for; I couldn't find any mention.Update: Do NOT try to use this thing if only one suction cup will grip. I put my foot up on it and it popped off the wall and I nearly broke my neck.
Walls can get damaged
September 12, 2015
Well it does stick to tile...and apparently to some walls. One side would not stick to the wall. The other side? It stuck and YES is can damage the wall. Left a suction circle and Took the paint right off...see photo. Use in tub area only...no where near grout lines
Not what I expected.
May 31, 2014
It's a great looking handle, well constructed. I only gave it three stars because it does not stay in place. It gives you a false sense of security. If you are about to fall, it is not going to stop you... It will come down with you. It slides down the wall, or across the bath tub if you are trying to use it to help you get up from a bath, or raise from the toilet. This handle is only good to steady somebody that is not so sure on their balance. If you are buying this for an elderly loved one or yourself, I recommend that you buy something you can screw into the wall. That's what I ended up doing.

Not for me
July 24, 2017
This chair is unsafe in my opinion. I thought plastic would be better than the metal legged because the legs couldn't rust and break off, like the reviews I've read. However, the legs on this chair screw on and for some unknown reason become loose to the point where the chair starts wobbling. I don't use the chair every day, I just have it in the shower in case I need to sit down. It's non-returnable so I guess I'm stuck with it.
MEH
June 20, 2017
Although fairly easy to put together, it was not very comfortable. I think the top end of this chair is 350 lbs., I weigh about 280 and to sit in it was hurtful. It was ok after I took the arms off, but really? I weigh 70 lbs. less than the top and I have to take off the arms? Not a great deal.
I'M NOT THAT BIG AND IT DIDN'T FIT
June 6, 2017
This chair is supposed to fit all sizes and up to 350 lbs. I weigh 220 and could not use with both handles in place.Otherwise I tried to use it once after hip surgery and with one arm it was okay. Went to return it and they said no returns but THEY DID REFUND MY MONEY AND SUGGESTED THAT i GIVE IT TO CHARITY.
Wobbly & Unsafe
April 7, 2017
This is not a safe chair. My husband fell over sideways with the chair while in the shower. The legs are a 2 piece system and the piece that adjusts for height, wobbles on the inside of the outer leg. Also the feet are not a suction, they are rounded and do not stand firm on the shower floor. The chair also is not safe on the floor, it wobbles there as well.

This chair was a great buy. It seamed sturdy enough at first but when my 170 pound husband sat on it in the shower and it popped, it scared us both very badly. The chair advertised being able to hold up to 300 pounds. The loud pop was the leg cracking. OMG if it would have fallen completely apart my husband could have been seriously injured. I do not recommend this chair to anyone, especially someone larger than my husband.

Not compatible with most toilet seats
July 29, 2017
The seat comes with two long screws and wing nuts to attach the regular toilet seat and the elevated one to the toilet bowl. Unfortunately, most regular toilet seats have a proprietary method to attach the seat to the bowl and will not work with the supplied screws. I had to check over six different toilet seats until I found one that would work. The manufacturer needs to find a better method to attach their seat so it will work with a variety of regular toilet seats.
... riser is the right height and the arms are great, the plastic to porcelain connection doesn't work
July 15, 2017
While this riser is the right height and the arms are great, the plastic to porcelain connection doesn't work! It slides back and forth loosening the bolts in the back. Additionally, the long bolt connecting seat to riser to porcelain base requires a seat and lid that has this capacity. Our seat and lid did not! They were fused as one unit and our plumber had to run out and buy another one that a bolt could be put through. This new seat has ridges that provide air between seat and porcelain base. These ridges have already put grooves in the plastic riser in one week! We're not sure it the loosening bolts will create the danger of falls, but it feels like they might. We're very disappointed and worried. Should we send it back? Then we're back with too low toilet with no bars to assist.
Easy to Install Not for the obese
November 10, 2016
Needed this after fracturing my humerus ( never live in a raised ranch people multi level living is highly overrated) fit well but even though installed by my handy husband it was still a tad wobbly also at a normal BMI it was a close quarters fit I don't suggest this product for an overweight person carrying larger hips/buttocks unless you like getting stuck on the commode....
The toliet seat was fairly easy to assemble
May 2, 2016
The toliet seat was fairly easy to assemble. However, I was a bit confused as to which washer went where. So I put the white one on top and the metal one on the bottom. Here's my COMPLAINT!! After attaching it the commode base, I noticed the padded handles are very WORN, and I doubt they will last more than a couple of months. As I am 66 years old, the bending and tightening everything to the base was stressful, So, I decided I didn't want to deal with undoing my work and having to be bothered with installing another one. I hope duct tape will help. It's a pity for what this thing cost me.
its ok, but....
July 15, 2013
Purchased while recovering from surgery, for assistance in standing up. For that it does work. Also seems quite sturdy, and was delivered quickly and in excellent condition. However ... replaced it a few weeks later with a hinged version. Was impossible to clean thoroughly without removing it. A simple job but a real pain. If not removed, the 'liquid' which collects under it gets kinda gamey. Not fun to clean or smell. This happened whether men or women used it, though more often w/women. (Probably an anatomy thing.) The problem lies with the design, not the seller. Replaced it with a hinged version ... when cleaning it just needs to be raised unlike this model which needs to be unbolted from toilet.
Difficult to clean
April 6, 2013
This seat riser did an adequate job of raising the toilet seat to a better height, but the longer bolts did not fit into the original seat. Also, once it is installed, the only way to thoroughly clean the toilet seat would be to take it all apart. Too much work for elderly people.....we returned it.

Poor Quality - Two Broke in 4 years
February 5, 2017
This is a great price. I love that the hose is extra long; one of the main reasons I bought this. However, I've bought 2 of these shower heads in the past four years and both have broken at different spots. I thought that maybe I was just unlucky when the first broke but, sure enough, the second was of equal quality. This is NOT durable and one really does get what they pay for. I will not be buying another one of these shower heads.
cheap, didnt last long, no instructions
August 6, 2016
Cheap, didn't last long. Flimsy and started leaking at the head.I don't normally complain about the lack of instructions as most things are intuitive and can be easily figured out. However, the way this thing is put together and all of the parts that it comes with...they really should have included assembly instructions. I was left with a few extra parts of unknown use once I got the thing installed. It worked fine, seemingly as intended. But, what were the extra parts for? - I don't know...
Adapter needs redesign.
January 27, 2016
The adapter to which the hose attaches is poorly designed. The end of the hose that attaches to the adapter requires two washers and the flow restrictor in-between. When I tried to attach that end to the adapter, it would not engage the threads of the adapter. I had to remove the flow restrictor and one washer to get it to connect. Otherwise it works fine but this was very frustrating.
The cheap plastic holder is not designed to properly fit ...
November 27, 2015
The cheap plastic holder is not designed to properly fit the metal octagon connector. This allows it, the shower handle, to slide in and out, basically fall out, when the water pressure is beginning or fluctuating such as during a toilet flush or dishwasher beginning a cycle. So, inevitably it falls out and causes one helluva scare and mess to my invalid father who was trying to shower himself. As always, caveat emptor. Judge for yourself. I will purchase another product which is more suited to my needs.
and unscrewing this connection was enough to destroy the threads on the coupling rendering it useless..
September 28, 2015
Definitely get what you pay for, the fitting is *very* cheap (the coupling was already cracked upon removing it from the package). Definitely needs the included plumber's tape to avoid leaks - this caused a bit of a problem, as I did not put it on the joint between the hose and the upper coupling at first, and unscrewing this connection was enough to destroy the threads on the coupling rendering it useless... so, get it right the first time and you'll be OK. Got it to work by just hooking the hose up directly to the showerhead pipe, but now it's just dangling into the tub. Yay. Just got it as a dog washer, so this is OK, and I guess you can't expect too much for something so inexpensive.

Not dependable
September 1, 2017
I have 2 of these and neither one will stay stuck for long. I have followed the directions about applying it to a clean, dry surface. I also tried moistening the suction cups slightly. Neither one work for long. I use this on a desk top to assist me when I need to rise from my chair so it's not like I am depending on it 100%. Please be careful if you are planning on installing it somewhere that it cannot be tested each and every time it must be used.
Not really white and odd size
June 1, 2017
Color is not really "white". Looks lavender against actual white tile. Also a really odd length, can sometimes get it to stick like glue even with a hair of grout line covered, other times I wouldn't trust it to last a minute. I will be returning these as I don't like the weird color and don't believe I trust the grip, even as only a steadying guide not meant to weight bearing like a permanent mount. There is a better option that is actually white and properly spaced for standard and common 4" bathroom tile from Vive in a 16" length.
Dangerous devise. Keeps coming off the shower wall.
April 4, 2017
We have a fiberglass shower. We prepped the wall, remove soap residue etc., before installing. It stays on the wall for about 1-2 weeks before it comes loose when getting in or out of the shower. This is not a safe situation. Wife is recovering from hip surgery and this coming loose almost caused her to fall. Lost all confidence in the devise.
Lasts about 3 months
December 2, 2016
Lasted less than 3 months. Gave one to a friend , as well, who needed the extra support after surgery.Started out very wonderful. Began to count on it.Removed it from the shower wall to clean. Trying to reattach, it sprung apart. Unable to reuse. Nearly the same thing happened to my friend's, also.I am big. She was about 130pounds.
Didn't meet my needs
March 5, 2016
This is a well made grip, and it has a tight grip if you secure it correctly. However, it didn't meet my needs. It loses its grip after a while so you have to secure it before each use. I bought two hoping it would help me get out of the bathtub. It just didn't work for me. I didn't trust it to handle my full body weight. For certain situations, it may be fine, just not for my needs. No problem returning through Amazon.
Grip Lossens Up After Use
March 5, 2014
The Safer Grip is constructed well and has a nice feel to the handle/grip and is very easy to attach to bathroom tiling. I don't recommend this product to be used on any vertical walls/tiling in your bathroom. It attaches firmly when first applied to the tile - but can loosen up as time goes by after a while and becomes unsafe for someone who thinks it is still firmly attached to the tiling. You can reach for it as a hand hold, and can potentially wind up falling/slipping if the grip slides off the wall. I wouldn't recommend this product.

i had not read the reviews before i ordered this and to my horror when looking at all the broken chair pictures of previous owners, this was returned.
Potentially very dangerous
December 2, 2016
Broke the second time my husband used it. He is 73 and on a blood thinner and could have had a serious or fatal injury. I strongly suggest that Amazon removes this chair from their available product list.

Listed as having a weight capacity of 350... I weigh significantly less than that and the seat broke after 4-5 uses.
This product is dangerous
August 14, 2016
Hazardous. The first one sent had a crack but figured it had been cracked in shipping so asked for replacement. After about a doze uses yesterday it broke in half with my handicapped husband dumping him on shower floor. Since he has a problem with his knee he cannot stand from seated position so had to call 911 to assist. The product is supposed to hold 350 pounds. My husband weighs just shy of 300 so I believe this to be false advertising. I called Amazon and got a man in Indonesia and asked for refund and was refused and told I would have to handle with manufacturer. Buy this product at your own risk. I will never buy a Drive product again
Broke in half while sitting on it.
August 6, 2016
I am well under the stated weight limit of this chair. After using it less than a dozen times it split in half while I was sitting on it. I was not doing anything to put unusual stress on the seat. Without warning, there was a ripping sound, and the next thing I knew I was on the shower flor. Fortunately, injuries were minor, but like a few others who have given negative reviews, I urge buyers to use extreme caution with this product. It's better to use nothing rather than risking spinal injury or head injury.
Split down the middle during my shower! :-(
November 19, 2015
I've taken approximately 5 showers with this chair and look what happened in the middle of my last one! Split down the middle. It also spilled and slid all over the tub when I was sitting in it. It's not safe at all. I want a refund.

That's how bad it was needed
September 17, 2017
I had this product expedited it says comes with hardware. Zero hardware in the package. I needed this ASAP for my mom. When I take that out of the box the only thing in the box was the seat. People doing people not doing their job to the fullest is totally unacceptable. It came in today. Yesterday was too late having this. That's how bad it was needed. My mom has had a brain injury. This is desperately needed
Arrived on time but very disappointed with product

Arrived on time but very disappointed with product. It came with 2 left handles. Will be returning for sure.
Difficult to clean raised seat for toilet
July 6, 2017
Difficult to clean. It is bolted under toilet seat and to clean, the entire toilet seat and.bolts have to be removed. Not much use for s handicapped person.
Nope
June 4, 2017
NOT a seat that is stable once installed. Had to add bracing inside to avoid side to side movement. Do not recommend it.

August 14, 2016
It would have been great but there was no way to attach it and your Toilet seat to the actual toilet. Toilet seats today come with the bolt hardware pre- attached. They gave you long bolts but none of the newer toilet seats can use them.
Read why THIS and all toilet seat risers are junk
October 23, 2014
What you need to know about these toilet seat risers:I attempted to make contact with each of the reputable Amazon dealers selling their version of a riser seat. NONE of them responded to my questions. I chose this seller and product because of the high ratings. I know most people offer an initial review and never follow up when problems arise. People who left a positive review will be in for an unpleasant surprise. This comes with steel bolts and steel wingnuts. See my before and after photos of three months installed. (I guess Amazon or the Seller removed my rusted bolts photos!) There is a reason why ALL toilet seats come with Nylon bolts and nuts (hard plastic). Why would a riser come with metal???Your toilet collects condensation. Your bathroom is naturally high in moisture content. What happens to steel when exposed to this environment? RUST RUST RUST. Add to that chemicals you might use to clean your toilet. That eventually leaks on to these steel bolts. MORE CORROSION. I had one bleeping nightmare of a time getting the wingnuts off. Was about to use a sawzall to cut the bolt at the toilet rim line.Do these bolts hold your riser and toilet seat firmly? The riser has a lip which is designed to prevent it from moving forward. Does it prevent it from moving forward? Not really. Does it prevent the riser from moving side to side? NO! The holes where these bolts are inserted into the risers are oversized. Lots of play room.Is it easy to clean under these risers? NO NO NO!!! You literally need to unscrew each wingnut numerous revolutions and pull them out to get at the dirty toilet bowl rim. Completely remove the riser with toilet seat. Yes, lots of stuff gets caught in there and you'll never figure out how it happened.I thought the rubber pads under the riser help prevent it from moving? Not really. Plus, the chemicals you use to clean your toilet will end up eating away those rubber pads. They eventually fall off.Do all elongated seats fit perfectly on this riser? No. Most will overhang this riser but an inch or two. What needs to be changed with these toilet seat risers?1. Use fully threaded thick Nylon Bolts (hard plastic). I have not found them anywhere online or in the box stores. Someone should make them.2. Add plastic washers to the nylon bolts to help prevent shifting.3. Make one continuous lip all around and make it longer. This will help prevent stuff reaching underneath.4. Create a new style quick release system, instead of bolt/nut, to get easy access for cleaning toilet rim.I have four people in my home. None of us exceed 185 lbs. But it is extremely easy to shift this thing out of place. This was bought for my elderly mother who has neuropathy and difficulty standing up from a seated position.I hope this helps, but if you need a riser, what are you going to do? You have to buy one of these defective designs. I just hope you realize your bolt and wingnuts are going to rust frozen.UPDATE: A brother came over to calk bathtub gunk around the riser and the toilet bowl rim while I was gone. I called him and told him the cleaning solutions (bleach spray, toilet bowl cleaner for rust) would eat away and discolor the calk in a month. It did. Had to remove and scrape it off. Still no solution to problems noted above. I am kind of upset my photos of the rusted metal bolts were removed from this Amazon listing review!

This shower head leaks and spray, it was disappointing ...
August 27, 2017
This shower head leaks and spray, it was disappointing because I had been waiting for my son to install it for me. It comes set and there is no way to adjust it. It was advertised to have 3 modes and it states on the box, showing pictures of each mode. I contacted Aquasense to discuss the leaking and spraying and to hopefully discover how to change modes. The technician told me that the box was not marked right and there is another model that does have 3 modes but not the model I have. He said that he would contact the company about the mix up in the packaging. My son installed it for me, as I am disabled. I want to return it to Amazon but cannot do so until he returns. He lives in WA and I live in OR. He has been coming to help me once a month. He will be back the 3rd weekend in September to undo it so I can return it. I am going to request a return label.
All plastic construction with quality issues.
June 13, 2017
I ordered this and found that while it was easy to install, the flimsy product did not let any water through with any kind of pressure. I had to return it because it was defective. It's all plastic construction. The instructions were easy though.....
A Piece of Junk
December 8, 2016
I spent a half hour installing this shower head because one reviewer said it was good for bathing her dog. Bingo, I want to bathe my dog. After installing it correctly, a stream of water the size of a string came out the shower head. Hmmmm, I decide to remove the red restrictor which immediately jumped out of my hand and went down the drain (I know, always block the drain). Tried it again and got a water stream the size of a small straw. Took the thing apart, checked all the connections, blew through the hose, and tried one more time in case I was dreaming the first two times. I wasn't. This handheld shower head is a piece of junk (anything that doesn't work right is a piece of junk in my estimation). Don't buy it!!! Since I've lost the restrictor, I decided I had to take the hit and not return it--maybe the long hose can be used for something in the future or maybe I'll just save some pain and throw it all in the trash. I'm not a "review writer", but AquaSense deserves the bad review for this item!!!
Do not buy this product
November 5, 2016
I like that the hose is long and appears to be high quality. However I was not impressed with the plasticky fittings. From day one the seals were never really great, even with plumbing tape applied to the threads. A lot of tightening helped the situation a lot, but it still wasn't 100% leak free. I use this to give my baby a bath and turn the water to 'nearly' off from the shower head knob while I'm washing him. What's been happening recently is when I turn the ring to stop the water flow, it loosens the connection from the hose to the shower head itself and water starts spraying out from there. The on/off has never been easy to turn, so I'm not really surprised that it's happening now. Overall I suppose at this price you get what you pay for.UPDATE - Just a day after I wrote my review, the metal hose decided to break, causing water to spray everywhere. I take back what I previously said about the metal hose 'appearing' to be high quality. This is now a definitely not recommended product.
2nd Time I purchased new fittings didn't work... cracked after 5 days use
November 5, 2016
I purchased this product for a 2nd time because the first one I ordered lasted 2 years with no issues. The 2nd time they didn't send it with the proper fittings so I had to use parts of the older model that were still intact to assemple it properly. Then after 5 days use the wand part that connects to the hose cracked. I noticed other reviews that mention not having the proper fittings and reviews that took note of the different quality control on the product that gets sent out. This was my review for the first product that was sent to me.... had to change it so other buyers are aware:5 starsLasted 2 years..... just reordered another one because I dropped it for the 10th or 11th time and this time it cracked. my fault. great product.
Be very gentle when installing...cheap
January 8, 2014
Be VERY gentle when installing the adapter to the faucet pipe. It will easily crack...use the plumbers tape for sure or it will leak.I made it work properly because I took gentle care with the installation. I suggest looking for something else. The ultra long hose is nice though.

Will Not Stay Attached
September 21, 2017
Not worth your trouble. No matter how hard I tried to get these to stay attached to the shower wall, nothing worked. I took suggestions from other reviews, but no go. When one went crashing down in the middle of the night, I threw it into the garbage.
NOT
August 17, 2017
The round suction pieces extend outward further than ll.5 inches. I have 4" tiles in my shower and this overlaps grout lines and should fit well within the grout lines so it's a useless and dangerous "SAFETY" grip.
Save your money
June 10, 2017
Suction doesn't hold. Glad I wasn't taking a shower when it let loose and fell off. Very disappointed! I need something reliable as I just had knee surgery. My walls are totally flat with no ridges. It should have stayed put for MONTHS! Live and learn!
Only work for smooth surfaces
June 3, 2017
I purchased two of these due to pending surgery. Only after they fell off the walls, did I read on the box (not on Amazon) that they require a smooth surface to adhere. So they might be helpful if your shower, bath, or walls are smooth but don't waste your money if you have raised surfaces as I do. I know have handles I can't use.
Doesn't work!
February 15, 2017
Regardless of the amount of cleaning and polishing on ceramic tiles these things wouldn't stay in place. Not safe!
WARNING: This fell off my wall within an hour - Tried 3 x and it fell 3 times on its own.
October 26, 2016
Followed directions and at first it appeared to hold tightly. Within an hour, I heard a loud bang and it was the handle falling off the wall. Tried it several more times, even moved it. Still, within an hour, it would completely lose its hold. I applied to smooth, non-porous and dry wall. Will try to return.
