| Great UrnApril 16, 2017 This urn works great, it's been holding up well to the abuse of my coworkers. The coffee is hot as it should be and has no negative effect on taste. Great Buy For the Price!March 27, 2017 I used this coffee urn at a breakfast function. It worked perfectly. I brewed the coffee at home and transported the full urn. I did follow the instructions in the manual and removed the container that holds the grounds. I put it in a box in the front seat of my car, and it arrived with no spillage. As long as you keep in mind that it is hot and full when carrying it, there should not be any major issues. For the price, this was a great buy for me. Lightweight and lovelyFebruary 1, 2016 This coffee urn is great. It's super lightweight, very easy to use, makes a whole lotta coffee (perfect for parties). If you are making the whole thing, it does take 42 minutes to brew (says on the box 1 minute per cup brewing time so, do the math), so best to prepare an hour before serving. The coffee comes out HOT HOT though, so be careful. Used paper hot/cold cups and had to double them up because the coffee was pretty hot.Cleanup is simple and easy. Highly recommend it, especially for the price. Paid for itself in two uses!November 14, 2015 Used this twice now, once for my sister's bridal shower and then again at her wedding and I absolutely love it! Super easy to make coffee in (I always run it with a regular coffee filter flattened down) and looks great on the buffet. It does take about a half hour for the coffee cycle so plan accordingly.Considering where I live a coffee urn rental costs $18 for one event, this urn has paid for itself already and I know it will get many more uses for years to come. My First Coffee urnSeptember 8, 2015 Ok I don't have much to compare this to. It works out well. heats quickly and seems like it should do what I need it to. I wish the basket were metal. I also wish the base were larger/taller. The spigot is close to the surface and that makes it difficult to fill some cups. This works consistently for me and us used about every other month. It cleans easily. My only gripe is the spigot height. I wish there were a bit more clearance. Other than that it works great. I am not a person that drinks coffee but I am the one in charged of making it everyday and I have had no problems with this product. | Brew Your OwnSeptember 23, 2017 Worked well. I took the advice from another review and used a thin napkin as a filter and we had no problems with grounds getting into coffee. The unit takes about 30-40 minutes to brew. The first time we used it, things went quietly. When we brewed the second time, it was made a lot of noises so be aware. Also - it says it makes 42 cups and that might be true if you are using SMALL cups. It's more like 25-30 normal sized cups.Overall, I do recommend the product. It was like 30 years old for real. So I looked here and found this 42 cup. It works and percolates coffee decent. My friends like it and no problems. I like to use a drip tray, but then I have to elevate the urn higher with something underneathIf you only use standard size cups, then you might be ok. We like to use it for a multitude of drinks such as hot chocolate bar (with Kahlua on the side) for the parties in the winter. Otherwise it works great without breaking the bank. I bought it for the sole purpose of using it to heat up apple cider and keep it warm. I spent the night plugging it in, unplugging it as it would start to boil, replugging it back in, unplugging it when it boiled again. (for anyone who's made cider, it causes the ingredients to separate out.) Basically, it's a good product, but if you want to use it for hot chocolate or cider, you'd be better off getting a product specifically with a "warmer" setting. If this is your intended use, DO NOT BUY this particular warmer. But if you want it for coffee or for hot water for tea, it'd be an EXCELLENT WARMER! Great coffee. Performance counts.June 27, 2015 As other reviewers have stated, the inside of the urn will stain easily. I tested it the day I received it with just water percolating and the inside became stained a dark color. We have soft water here in Hawaii. This is minor. The metal is light aluminum and not stainless steel. Don't bang this baby around. The company should have made the electrical cord, which is non-detachable, a bit longer. Performs well and that is the main thing. We use two of these for our large Boy Scout family gatherings. | | | | |

| Three StarsMay 1, 2017 Works fine still Not so hotJanuary 19, 2017 I had bought one of these about four years ago. And it died maybe a year ago so don't expect to get much life out of it. Bought a second since I'm such a Java fiend and. All I can say is HB must be having some quality control problems at the coal face because EYTHING was and is LOOSE. The little pipe fits dowo in the coffee maker itself wiggles around far more than it should do. Even the lid does NOT fit Well. That's why although I like what it makes I only gave it three stars. A cautionFebruary 11, 2016 The 40515 Coffee Urn had some concerns that one should be aware of. First, it is a two prong plug so it is not legal for any workplace application. I was looking for an Urn for my break room and thought this would work. Next I was concerned as the sides of the Urn becomes very hot while in use. Finally, there is no on off switch so when you plug it in it's on. As far as making coffee it was fine, just not right for my application. Okay productJune 20, 2015 I bought this after seeing the high reviews and the "#1 purchase" logo in Amazon. It was affordable. Can make from 10 to 42 cups. I don't think I'll order this again. Everything is made with poor quality materials. Super light. No power button. Inside parts are plastic! which I did not like. We will use it until it lasts and order a better quality product the next time. Not terrible for $40May 14, 2015 The spout is too low.
