Good value, note fish is primary ingredient so this is a warm-weather food. Koi seem to like it just fine, good "value" food. Haven't noticed any issues with water quality while feeding, but then I'm careful not to over-feed.

Great fish food and a great product. Will never buy from store again. Works just as good as any brand I have used and my KOI love it so do my goldfish.

This product does not dissolve quickly , so the fish have time to eat it.

Cheaper than Walt-Mart. The fish go nuts when i feed them (But then again, they go nuts over any food I give them) I like it because it floats so you know if they are eating it and if you gave them too much. also it's small for the smaller fish. Some of this type of food is too big for the little fish.

This food has worked out very well for me. I have a 10' Koi pond with 15 ea Koi. They like the food a lot. They are always eager to eat. The small pellets float. I see no signs of them sinking or clouding the water. However they finish a handful in about 5 minutes. The amount of food you get for the money is a good deal. My only complaint is the cellophane bag the food comes in. Plan to get rid of the bag once you open it as it tears apart. I just put my food in a plastic container. I would like to see them upgrade the bag.BTW, my dog loves this food also. He fell into the pond trying to reach the floating food.

This fish food is just what I needed. I have a Gar fish in my home aquarium and I feed him live fish which can get very expensive and I feel bad for the feeder fish. I have found from years of experience that you can get your carnivorous fish to eat pellets it just might take some time. Once you get your fish to eat pellets you can feed them this everyday and go longer in between live feedings. If you do this you need to check the protein content higher protein content is better and you still need to get live fish every two weeks or every month to balance their diet. I found this method to be very effective its cheaper and if your like me you wont feel as bad feeding them live fish because you do it less often. Kaytee Koi's Choice Premium Fish Food is higher in protein than some of the other brands and is still very reasonably priced. I would recommend getting a storage container for this food because the bag will rip open at the top near the zip lock and this will dry out your fish food(a 2 1/2 gallon bucket worked for the 3 pound bag) also get a smaller container to fill up so you don't have to pull the larger container out everyday.

This is a good economical option for medium and large koi. I bought this as an alternative to the Hikari mini pellets I had been using when I did not know the size of Kaylee Koi's Choice. These are about 5 to 6mm. While the large goldfish and small koi in my pond can't eat this, my 6-inch koi loves it.For the rest of the fish in the pond I'll go back to Hikari mini pellets.

This food falls in the middle of the selection available. It is way better than the generic food at the local feed store-food that is intended for growing catfish, but repackaged for koi. Those of you who have show quality and expensive fish should look elsewhere. This food is acceptable for pet fish in a home garden pond where developing confirmation,color,and pattern are not the primary concern, but cost is important

These are good.fish loves them. I have smaller fish so I crush these for them. And then it sinks to bottom which feeds the bottom eaters to. They all like it so not bad.

Fish like the food. Pellets are a bit large. Not suitable for smaller fish.Bag was a big letdown, Mostly letting down all of its contents on my floor. The plastic is pretty thin. Was planning on moving to a bucket anyway though.

I began feeding my fish this new food, and at first they were not real interested in it. I believe that may have been because it floats as opposed to slowly sinking like their previous food choice. So, I crushed some of it up so it slowly sunk and they love it. The fish are growing great and the plants seem to be responding as well. My Aquaponic system's water is also much clearer. Great food for the price!

Not the best, not the worst. More cheaper and better options like blackwater if you buy from a different source.

Fish didn't like it my squirrels are finishing off the remaining bag.

Not sure why this bag is different than the same package I have been buying for the last ~10 years. About half the pellets sink. Disappointed, but I guess it is still usable. The pellets are also a little smaller I think. Not sure what this is about.Using this food, the feeder goldfish my kids won at a carnival are about a foot long now. They need to be possibly 6" or so to eat these large pellets. That said this is all I have fed them for years. FYI, if you want your goldfish to grow and thrive, forget about flakes and get some substantial pellets for each stage.

This food is an excellent value and has better ingredients than a lot of its competitors (look for fish meal to be the first ingredient and you're good).Problem is that if you throw a handful of pellets into the water, 5% of them sink rather than float. (Why? I have no idea.) Though the packaging claims that the food won't harm the water quality, I think that the sinking pellets ARE having a negative effect on my pond's water.My koi -- who admittedly seem to be picky eaters -- eat it, but they don't love it.Overall, I'm pretty cheap, and I was thrilled to find such a big bag of food with good ingredients for such a great price. Unfortunately, I think I'll be trying another brand next time, because I think the sinking food is affecting my water's clarity.Your mileage may vary.

A decent food at a nice price. Specs and nutrition are good, and I like the fact that it can be used year round. Like other reviewers I buy the 25 lb bag and mix during the summer months with growth and color food for added protein in the pond. If the fish don't favor it, you'd never know since they eat ravenously all summer long. Ween the mix down as the weather gets cooler and the feedings become less frequent and this food does just fine spring and fall with single feedings of just the Kaytee. If your looking for a value in koi food you can do a lot worse.

Delivered on time with package perfectly intact. My only problem is my fish don't like the food.

Our Koi has far less appetite since we switched to this brand. This may be a good think in a way, but the Koi doesn't seem thrilled.

I'm sure it will be good for some, but my Koi didn't really like it as well as the Tetra brand. But then again, my fish were raised on the Tetra brand food, and were more excited when I fed it to them.

Update, they have raised the price almost 50% in last 3 months, was $18, now $26, for 10lbs bag, won't be buying anymoregood quality, fish love it, made in USA

I'm using it for catfood, its too hard. My fish look at it and go away. Only the biggest ones (12" fish) will even eat it. I'm back to the tetra koi food.

I have been feeding my koi with catfish food for months. After reading all the positive feedbacks here, I thought I would give this a try.Instead of paying $18 for a 50 lb. catfish food, I paid more than $20 for a 10 lb. "koi food" only to find out my koi didn't like this anymore than they liked the catfish food. In fact, they appeared to prefer the catfish food a bit more.Their favorite was to suck blood worm out of their hiding. Since my pond is not filtered, it has plenty of that. If that still wasn't enough, they would dig around for vegetables. They would jump on the goldfish flakes if I offer it to them, but if they are still hungry, they would eat these pellets.So, my guess is it's all relative. Without giving your fish a buffet table with many different entries to choose from, you wouldn't know what they like better.

Fish seem to like it but I only got a partial bag..no packaging so I lost half of it during shipping..not worth the money if you only get a partial order!

My Koi simply don't like it and refuse to eat it.

I hardly ever write reviews but thought I should here. My koi simply won't eat it. I don't know why but when I put a different food in the pond my koi go for it. When I put this stuff in the pond the try it once and then won't go near it.

IT DOESNT SOFTEN US FAST ENOUGH..MY KOI DONT LIKE IT.. THE BABY KOI CANT EAT IT..THE LARGE KOI EAT IT ONLY IF THEY HAVE TOO..IM FEEDING IT TO THEM JUST TO GET RID OF IT..WASTE OF MONEY..WENT TO STORE AND BOUGHT THE SAME FEED I HAVE USED FOR 12YEARS

My Koi are active and voracious eaters, or were should i say. I ordered a different brand now, but this stuff, the fish stopped eating it after a couple weeks. they don't really like it. They will eat, but no where near like they were with the blackwater food or even the wardley. Fish seem sluggish and their color is not as bright. I cancelled my Save n Ship order for this product and will not be purchasing any more. It seems to me this is about the worst koi food i have ever tried.
