I have a set of these on our deck, for when the dog goes out. I found this set at an amazing price I mounted these on our deck, 2 next to the stairs and 2 by the house on the 4x4s all facing outward. upon opening these there were the 4 lights as well as 4 packets with 2 screws and 2 white plastic pieces, as well as instructions. There 2 holes to mount the light to a post/wall etc. There is a power button (on/off) I love being able to have lights outside that I don't need to use electric for. I am impressed with how bright they are but LED is a very bright light. They don't light up a huge area but just enough to be able to see where you are going. The light doesn't stay on for very long which is fine just long enough to walk to your destination. These do a great job and I would recommend these to a friend looking to light a pathway with a nice bright light. This product definitely isn't what you are looking for if you are looking to light long distances just for illuminating stairs creating a nice dramatic effect

We had a new deck put on our house 2 years ago, we found no matter what we did we couldn't seem to get enough light on half of the stairs and when we have BBQs i the summer I am always worried the kids (or even worse an adult) is going to trip and fall.So I came across these step lights. I bought them unsure if they would work.... well I was totally surprised... they worked great.First they are heavy duty and not junky at all. Nice and strong and easy to use. I set them outside on my deck for a few hours and then tried them out. The light was bright and very strong. These are not your average solar lights. I am super impressed and can't wait for the nice weather so I can try them out. I am also going to buy a few more since they are so awesome!!!

Well at first I was kinda bummed at the size until I installed them. Super bright ! Now I like the fact they fit pretty flush with my step. Super easy to install with all the screws needed included. I like the fact if I leave during the day I don't need to leave my porch light on burning money as I know Ill be able to see the steps easy with these super bright lights. The light is very soft and no brash which I also enjoy. I am going to order several more for sure

These are just the right size for what I need them for. We have no lights along our house near the driveway to I'm going to put these along the bottom of the siding.I was reading other reviews and some mention that they stop working after a few months but it's most likely the battery. It takes a AAA battery and in the video I show you how to change it out.I really like these so I'm giving it 5 stars.

I no longer have to keep the porch light on if I decide to park outside instead of in the garage. I also have one inside the garage on a step, to save more energy.... and to well... not fall up the stairs lol! There's a button under each light with two options. You can turn them off, or have them on auto. With the auto option, you turn them on and they'll stay on throughout the night and automatically turn off in the morning (no need to press the button to turn them off). The lights are very sensitive, even while taking photos of them or being next to my computer screen caused them to turn off, so they definitely do what they're intended to do.Now, although these say SOLAR, they do require a AAA BATTERY once a year, why? I'm not sure since its solar operated. Once my tools arrive I am going to take the batteries (already installed) out and see how the panels being charged without the battery works.

These lights are awesome! I hung them in my backyard, one on each fence and one by my backdoor. They charge all day in the sun and then come on automatically once it gets dark. I have a very large tree covering most of my backyard, but I don't have any issues with these getting a charge. They are fairly small, but provide enough light to be able to navigate around my backyard in the dark. They came with all of the necessary hardware to install them. Quality wise, they are solid and seem well built. Overall, these were a nice addition to my backyard.

It really works. Frankly I didn't expect much luck on cinderblock and other porous surfaces, but so far it has held strong on a variety of surfaces, resisting harsh sunlight and high winds. In one case I put the device on crooked, and fully expected the tape to take the paint off when I pulled it off. It came off without any damage. You really have to use it to believe it.

I got this tape just shy of a month ago to mount a plug strip and a USB hub to my wall next to my bed. In case you were curious, it sticks very well to plastic and to painted drywall.. I honestly don't think either will ever come off. They both feel like they're bolted down. They don't move the slightest bit. It's working great and holding up to pressure of cables being plugged and unplugged regularly. I almost wish I had more things to hang, I just hope I never have to remove them.

I have no idea how well this works for its intended use but given what I put it through, I would guess it will do great. My Topsiders have a padded plastic insole with a piece of leather covering it. After about a season of wearing them in the heat and sockless, this leather piece begins to detach. I have tried everything, including a number of Gorilla solutions, to correct this and 3M's tape is the first product that worked. It's lasted all summer under my sweaty soles and it's still solid.

I was surprised by the lack of information about the tape on Amazon's listing. For more information about the tape than you care to know, search for "3m 4011 datasheet" - 3M has one that talks about it's construction, adhesive tests, and bondline elongation results among other things. As far as load goes, the packaging recommends 4 inches of tape for every pound it's supposed to hold and can be used to mount up to a total of 5 pounds. The packaging also warns that the tape "may cause damage if removed" and "if you must remove the mounted object, insert a knife behind [it] and carefully cut the tape between the adhesive surfaces".The tape is 0.045 inches thick (almost 1 mm), so depending on what you use it for, there may be a bulge. It is kind of a pain to remove the red protective layer, so if you need to fit it in a tight spot, peel of a corner first before placing it.I've used this tape a few times and have been very pleased with it. I've used to attach a Oxo SteeL Kitchen Tool and Utensil Rack to a metal backsplash (where I couldn't screw into it) and I've also used it to mount surge protectors to the underside of desks to move it out of the way. I'm sure there are hundreds of other good uses for it, so I plan to keep a roll of it around the house. It's almost as useful as super glue, just less permanent and it isn't as much of a pain to clean up.UPDATE (7/13/2011): I've been using this to mount the tool rack for over six months now. It does work, however the load I'm putting on it is too high and it causes the tape to creep. After about 3-4 weeks it sags enough to drop the untensils. I'm not going to dock a star because I knew I'm exceeding the load (I have several pounds on a square inch.).I've recently discovered 3M's 4929 Very High Bond Tape. This stuff is ridiculously strong (110 psi shear). I've used it at work in high stress environments at low temperatures (-20C) and it didn't budge. This tape is (currently) not on Amazon and has to be ordered through an industrial supply company like McMaster-Carr ($20 a roll). I think I'm going to try replacing the 3M 4011 tape with this and see if it does any better.

Overall very happy, these are bright and feel sturdy. Great price as well.On the flip side the lights are very bright (a little too bright for me, though probably not a problem for most) and put off a white light which may be off from your interior lights. Also found that they do not turn on until it is very dark out. Preference would be a little earlier as it gets dark.Again, other than a few things really like them.

The lights were bright and well made when received. i put them up quickly around my pool as needed. after about a week one quit working so i promptly wrote the company an email.. I received a new light in 3 working days and am very please with the value I received. I never buy the most expensive but I do pride myself on getting a good deal on a valued product and appreciate good customer service. I have suggested the lights to some friends that were looking for something similar. just remember, follow the instructions on the light and turn the push button switch on the back before mounting.

I have only had these lights installed a couple of weeks but I am really pleased with how bright they are. Our neighborhood does not have streetlights and motion activated security lights are not practical because we always have wind, causing movement in the landscaping. I needed some lights to attach to the fence along the driveway to provide safe passage up to the house. I was originally concerned they would not be bright enough so I only got four to test them out along one stretch of driveway. Now that I can see they're bright enough, I will buy another set for the second half. I mounted them about 25 inches off the ground and they cast bright enough light to avoid tripping in the dark. They were easy to install along our picket fence, although the precise hole locations on the back do require very exact measurements. (measure twice, drill once!) I hope they last but will add to this in a year to see how they have fared.

Ordered these to use on an above ground pool deck. The screws provided were crappy and stripped immediately when I tried to screw into pressure treated lumber, I replaced them with something of better quality that I had on hand. The provide a much brighter light than I would have expected for their small size. They look great and look spectacular with our steel cable deck railing.. I would have given them a five if it hadn't been for the screws. Be sure you push the switch to auto before you install them. Easy Install, Nice Quality, happy with purchase, Going to order more!

These things are just great! I have 10 of them around my house mounted below every window. I love being able to look outside a window at night and see my yard/walkway. It is an added sense of security when I hear a noise and want to see if there is someone/something outside my house. The illuminate the side of my house very well. I've had mine for about 1 month so far. I normally leave my house around 515 for work each day and they are out by then. I don't know at point during the night they lose their power. At the very least, they are going strong when I go to bed. The absolute latest that I ever get to bed on a weekend is around 1130 and they are still going at that time.

I needed some type of double sided tape to secure my led lights to wood. This sticks to everything BUT wood. I have to keep reapplying this to sections of my led lights after a day or two because it just won't hold. If your sticking this to anything else this stuff will stick like superglue. I'd give it 5 stars if it would just hold my led lights to wood.

So easy to use, reasonably priced. One light I put up did fall off in the hot summer sun and muggy weather. I'm putting up the auto on lights for security.

Didn't want our old bodies up on ladders screwing things in, so this was advertised below the item I was purchasing and for under $5, a bargain!

Sometimes, no matter what you do the item you attached to the surface ends up on the ground the next day. Usually, it is and unclean or too uneven surface. This stuff gets expensive if you have 30 led motion detector lights to mount like I did. Use a screw. In most cases, this will remove pain from the surface to which it has been applied unless prised off with a thin knife. It should be considered permanent. Follow the directions as far as how much is needed to secure how much weight.

used this to reattached a parking stop to the floor in the garage. It works well, but the roll is pretty small so I basically had to use about half the roll, making it relatively expensive (-1 star for value), but it seems to stick well. I'll update if there are any issues.

Used it to mount a solar light to an outdoor wall, been a few months and holding strong. Even used it to mount a toilet night light to smooth porcelain...works for a month or two before loosening. Easy to work with.

They look nice. One light has a faulty switch that we need to constantly mess with. Unfortunately you cannot just get a replacement light, you need to return the whole set and I no longer have the packaging.

I noticed intermittent operation from one of these units. Very cold MN, may have to do with limited light or expecting them to stay on later then they are meant too. A few hours I think and they discharge, but I will re-evaluate in the summer.

Mine come on very bright at dusk, but then they only shine for about 90 minutes before shutting off. Unlike other solar lights I've had, they don't slowly fade; they turn off abruptly. Bright or dark, no in-between.A bit tricky to mount since each lights sits on two small screws. Make a guide by laying a piece of paper on the back of a light flush to the top edge, and then poking guide holes through the paper where the holes in the light are.

Nice slim profile. Perfect amount of light to create glow on a stair. Bought ten lights. 2 of the 10 stopped working within the first couple weeks.

I bought these based on reviews. Lights are bright for two LED diodes. Construction is good but the materials are really thin and light. I can not see using these where foot traffic is as they just would not last. (They are really light duty). I bought these thinking they might be similar to ones I bought at Costco for about the same price but there is no comparison. The Costo ones have thick bodies, 4 LED diodes and are very rugged. I instead mounted these to a gate on my property wherei needed light. For the price these are ok.

I ordered two of these light kits, eight lights total, and installed five lights on my deck. Of the five, one has issues with the electric eye, it does not turn on at night although it runs all day when the sun is out. The other three I have not yet installed, figured I may need to send all four back for replacements. They are sturdy so might hold up, who knows. The mounting is via a couple of tiny screws which are supplied, I wanted to swap out for larger ones, however, the slot in the bottom for mounting is too small do allow this. The instructions state that the battery will most likely need to be replaced in a year, something else I did not know when I purchased them.The light is quite bright considering they are solar powered and do last several hours into the nighttime darkness.Due to the one faulty unit and questionable mounting option, I reduced the rating from the four stars I would otherwise have given them.There you have it!

Not the greatest for a 3M product. Does not even manage to keep a Roku box from coming unstuck.

Works on smooth surface but forget bricks as it came off easily

Did not find it to be as strong as advertised and reviewed. Would not use on brick outdoors.

I used this stuff a few years back and was pleased that it lasted through hot, cold, wet dry weather. So I bought it again. Whatever 3M has changed in the adhesive causes it to stick for about a week in 65 degree sunny weather. Forget about cold, wet or dry. Won't hold for long. Don't waste your money. Marine shops sell all weather double stick tape which is where I'm headed.

I purchased this to facilitate installation of battery operated motion detector lights where I had no electrical outputs. As it stood, the only other way to install them was to get out my hammer drill because the walls are cement block covered with stucco, though the description indicated the tape would hold on stucco. From the reviews, I had the impression that it would be exactly what I needed, particularly since it says it will hold up to 5 pounds, considerably more than what I was installing. However, when you read the instructions, they point out that you require a 4 inch strip for every one pound you install. Obviously, there was not enough room to put a 4 inch strip on the back of the light. Through my own fault, I attempted the install BEFORE reading the instructions. I thoroughly applied the tape to the base of the light and installed it. At first, it indeed seemed to be firmly attached, even when I tried to pull it off the wall. Feeling confident on the install and not having to take the chance in damaging my stucco with a hammer drill, I started plans on installation of the second light when I heard that sickeningly unpleasant sound. Yep, there was the light, on the ground in two pieces with the tape securely attached to the back of the base, but not a bit on the wall. Fortunately, I was able to fix the light, but I now have the hammer drill out and will do the installation the way I should have done to begin with.

I suspect that this tape would be great on light weight objects that have a wide enough base or backing to permit you to place long strips of tape before applying to the surface, and for that perhaps I should have given this a higher rating. However, in my case, the tape proved to be disappointing and useful in very specific situations, certainly not the one I purchased it for. Definitely, if the item you are installing has a smaller backing, then I urge caution unless it is very light weight.

Kinda upset that the lights didn't last but a few months. Feel line I wasted my money. But when they worked, they were very bright. But 3 months later and I'm in the dark.

I wish someone would have told me before purchasing these how incredibly tiny these things are. In most pictures they look like they put out so much light.. When in fact they are itty bitty little night lights. Just take that into consideration if you're looking for something with light.

Purchased these for our boat steps. Actually placed them on the steps this year. Replaced all the batteries with new Duracel's one week ago. Fully charged them and attached them to the steps and the extras stayed on the helm in full sunlight., some of the lights won't light at all and all of them were dead by 2 AM. Very disappointed. A waste of $44.

I've had these for about 5 months now. After 2 months, one died, after four months another died. So I have two left that still function and counting the days until those are no longer functional. When they worked, they were great. I won't replace with the same. All four received 8+ hour of sun a day too!

Well, I thought these were going to be good but they didn't last 2 months. I bought 8 and only 3 barely work 2 months at most after installing them.Don't waste your time or money... The three that do work are not nearly as bright as when first installed and I doubt they'll live much longer.The sad part is I purchased these as a gift for a B&B that needed them on a back staircase where it gets very dark. They were thrilled when I first installed them. On my next visit, most were non-functioning.I also installed the LE® 23ft LED Solar Rope Lights, that are supposedly waterproof in a different area of the stairs at the same B&B. They lasted just a couple weeks before becoming completely non-functional so don't waste your time or money on those either.A shame and a waste. I'd return them but the pain of removing, returning, reinstalling them is not worth it; especially when the B&B is 150 miles away...Buyer be ware - cheap, disappointing product.

One light lasted 2 months then quit. The product description speaks of rechargeable batteries. They may be rechargeable but seem not to be replaceable. Even when 4 screws are removed from the back there is no easy access to the inner workings. Did not try a large hammer.

Very sticky, but did not work for us when we attempted to mouth to the RV wall for a magnetic blade holder. Knives are light weight. Cleaned the surface before applying. It is faux hardwood with a semi-gloss finish. So far no luck in finding anything to stick :(

This tape didnt stick. I tried different areas and mounting different things. I couldnt even get it to work inside the house.

I hung up a address plaque on my brick wall with this mounting tape, i was excited to see that it sticks... but the next day i found the plaque on the floor, and when i tried to put it up again, it did not go at all, i guess it's not meant for brick.

I bought this expecting it to stick to absolutely anything, and be somewhat weather-resistant. It failed on me within 24 hours. If you were going to stick a completely smooth surface to a completely smooth surface, and keep it out of the elements, it might work. Otherwise, go with something stronger.

These have to be one of the worst solar LED lights I have ever purchased.The product box appeared to be dropped pretty badly, but the Amazon box it came in was just fine. Someone probably dropped it off from the top shelf in the Amazon warehouse. The contents inside appeared to be undamaged however, but the drop must have damaged the insides of the solar light because a couple of them refused to work the way they should. The switches probably got damaged. Sometimes they will flash when pressing the on/off switch.The box says they are waterproof, they are not. I found this out when I took the back cover off to check the battery life to make sure it wasn't the battery causing the issue. The battery had nearly a full charge. But as I was taking the back cover off, its just plastic. No weather sealing whatsoever. Water can easily get into these and damage the electrical components and or corrode the rechargeable AAA battery.The light output itself is pretty weak also, there are FAR more better options on Amazon. I bought these because I wanted to light up house numbers and for the stairs. But they are just too weak for that.They do look good and the magnet doesn't stick to the stainless, so at least they used decent quality stainless. Overall, they are quite cheaply made.Since mine were damaged/faulty, I sent them back for a refund and I'll look for something else!

I just realized when i see so many 5 stars on this products i did not double check if they are verified purchases. Was looking for flush mount with subtle presence. but, the light is too much like fluorescent light and way to bright. the other issue i see is the mounting. there is no clear instruction on how you remove the cases and mounting distance. it's quite a drama.

I ordered a four pack of this in February and installed them on the outside of my RV as nightlights. I took two short trips and by early May one of them had stopped working completely. OI used the feedback system to contact the seller and they provided a replacement quickly, easily, and without cost. One can't ask more than that.Follow up on the above review - these are cheap Chinese junk! I put them on my RV as nightlights several months back. In that short time the "stainless" steel has rusted and they are now hideous looking (see the attached image) AND all four of them (including the replacement mentioned above) have stopped working completely. Don't buy this product, you WILL be disappoineted.

Although these are nice looking stainless steel, none of the four included lights worked. I though that maybe there was not enough sunlight in the location they were mounted so I removed the battery in one unit and replaced it with a fresh, fully charged AAA battery. No change, it did not light up. So that told me that it was not a charging issue, the lights simply don't work.It would be nice if the vendor would include a mounting template to use to drill the mounting holes. Instead they provide the measurement, which will work, but a paper template included with the instructions would be much handier.

Unreliable and poor quality light. I was looking for something substantial and useful. These are toys not lights for safety or security. Did not come on with regularity. Kept to long before installed. Couldn't return.

I purchased a pack of these lights and they barely lasted a month. While they worked, they were fine and provided a decent amount of light, so if you find out the world's going to end in a 30 days, these are the path lights for you.

Even though this is rated as exterior tape, the adhesive failed in about a month of relatively light use.

The lights fell off after an hour

It was even worst than the small tape pieces that come as a supplement with other product. When I tried it first, it won't even stick before holding anything!

Terrible. It is not sticky and does not stick to anything. Pretty much useless.

This product did not work. I attached a small lightweight solar light to my garage and within in a few days it fell off. I followed the directions very carefully, however, I do not think it could handle the rain and sun.
