Perfect if you treat it right.
April 21, 2017
This is the second one that I've bought, as I stripped the gears in the previous one. My fault! If you try to remove stuck screws it can be wrecked, but it is not intended for powerful tasks - it's for light, precision work, and as such is perfect. My original model came with a set of minute hex headed tips, this one has larger (standard) size hex tips, so the old tips won't fit. They are also slightly shorter, making it harder to get into tight spaces.Maybe the larger tips mean the gears are stronger - who knows, time will tell.
Mini pocket cordless screwdriver with a light WOW!!!
October 17, 2016
This is absolutely the coolest pocket screwdriver I've ever had... I've owned every new version of the screwdriver that comes out and was excited to hear when it was coming out with a light. it is just the right size and the addition of the light really helps me see and those tight hard-to-reach places... some people may not care for this screwdriver because it has a very tiny gearbox and is prone to breakage if used inappropriately. The general lighted and unlighted cordless pocket screwdrivers are meant for lightweight applications like cell phones laptops and computers they are not recommended for heavier jobs that would require a hand screwdriver or a larger more powerful cordless. With this in my pocket and my drill in my tool bag I never go wrong.
Love it! Be aware when buying bits, that this is the 1/8th inch size (which is a standard), not the 1/4 inch size.
December 2, 2015
I got this becuase I wanted a power screwdriver for working on guitars. Wanted one slow enough to be easy to control/do finer work with, and with low enough torque to at least try to prevent me from accidentally stripping out small screw holes in the wood. This fits the bill perfectly!Do note: This is the smaller of the two sizes of bit that you can buy. These are the much more rare small ones (1/8th inch vs 1/4 inch for 'normal' ones). If you want to work on bigger stuff, this is not for you, but for small work (as befitting a small, not very high powered driver), this has all the bit's you're likely to need, and you can indeed buy more, you just have to look harder for them.
Best mini screw driver for any I.T repair technician.
April 28, 2015
JUST WHAT I NEEDED!!!!!!! I don't know why there aren't more companies making these things. I work in I.T and we life cycle A LOT of systems. This means having to remove the hard drives before disposal, for me this is no less than 40 in one sitting. Further, when replacing laptop motherboards, you get tired of having to use a regular screw driver. This screwdriver is absolutely wonderful. Its smaller than your average drill and you don't have to worry about adjusting the torque so you don't accidentally crack a system board. The flashlight is an added bonus.I highly recommend this screw driver and this seller. It came fast and with its own AAA batteries.** This screw driver comes with 5 bits, but if you need a good inexpensive set of small bits for micro repairs (such as cell phones and tablets) , I recommend the Precision Multi-Driver Set with 32 pieces. They are compatible with this screwdriver.
Great Addition to the Toolbox!
April 2, 2015
So, as a previous review explains for those confused, "precision screwdriver" denotes the sizes and applications for the screwdriver, not the quality or method of manufacture. Your regular tool bits will not fit this, it is only for use with precision tool bits. I bought this as an addition to my toolbox for R/C vehicle repair and it is a truly great addition. All of the bits from my precision toolkit fit this, btw, as would any precision tool bits. I used this screwdriver to disassemble and reassemble my brother's nitro R/C (I had to replace a transmission dogbone/axle). This thing has a surprising amount of torque, as it removed even tightly locked screws. Anytime I encountered a screw that was "too tight" this thing would end up turning my wrist rather than the motor getting stuck. I had no fear of the motor giving out or breaking, as other reviews have stated. It worked very well. My brother saw it and instantly asked me to purchase one for him. His will be arriving on Saturday. :)
I really love this driver
February 12, 2015
I really love this driver, although I have to say that I have not had it long enough to know how it will hold up to my use. Some of the reviews I read about this product almost stopped me from the purchase, however I decided to try it even though many complained that it had too few bits and options to be worth the price. Yes, it is for light precision work but with more than adequate power and speed for most people who are not trying to use it to work on large items. What is more, I also found that a set of "Kobalt" brand of mini screw driver bits from Lowes works great in the unit and exchanges bits with the manual driver that came with that set giving me an additional set of 10 bits, that set included torx and square tips. I appreciate that people try to help with their reviews, but should try to be more thorough in their research of the items before making some of their observations. Lowes is a nation wide store making those available most places or perhaps online. I hope this review will be of some value to others.

The best!
September 2, 2017
This is the second of these I bought; I use it so often I wanted a separate one for the garage from the one I keep in my basement workshop. Construction quality is first-rate; the handle swivels, and the unit is relatively sleek for such a powerful and versatile device. I've had my share of power screwdrivers, and even the better ones were relative junk compared to this unit.
Great Power Screwdriver
June 16, 2016
I've used my new cordless screwdriver on my first project with it and am very impressed. It replaces my old Black & Decker that died after many years of faithful service. This one charges fast, holds the charge, and had plenty of torque for my project (building a large shelving system for my office.) The controls are simple and obvious. I saw some complaints from other users who don't like the quick release chuck, but it worked just fine for me and is very convenient....I like it. The two position functionality is convenient. The adjustable clutch and variable speed are nice features to match your application. Two batteries and two bits (attached to body) are also welcome. All in all, a very nice power screwdriver. And not a bad price.
Great Cordless Screwdriver
June 14, 2016
I initially bought this because I needed a cordless screwdriver that was not as heavy as my full size cordless drill. The box came very quickly and was packaged very well. The drill and accessories came in a sturdy plastic box. The drill itself seems to be very well made and not just a cheap plastic drill. I will admit that I thought it was heavier than I wanted and I thought I might have to return it. After I charged the battery and installed it, the drill was not as bad as I thought. The battery counters the weight of the front of the screwdriver and you essentially balance it when using it. The power and long times between charges have made this a valuable part of my tool set for work.
Works Great!!!
February 22, 2016
Thank you DEWALT. This makes life way easier no more need for manual labour of turning the screws. Very sturdy tool. Comes with two bits, Philips and Flat head however they are not one size fit all screws. I also purchased the below with this screw driver.DEWALT DW2166 45-Piece Screwdriving Set
I like it
October 15, 2014
Nice electric drill, light enough for my small hands, powerful enough for any job I need it for. I bought a keyless chuck conversion for it for a few $, and it will drill holes in anything I need, handy because we live in a mobile home and have used it to install the metal skirting. Comes with 2 batteries, and they charge in about 20 minutes. It isn't cheap to buy, but has a great warranty and looks and fills like it will hold up for the long haul. My only complaint is the switch to reverse the direction of spin, no problem for my hands, but if you have big fingers it could be difficult to use. It is a push in little switch, I would have preferred a flip switch that I could use with my thumb while using the screwdriver.

Excellent product
September 15, 2017
Excellent! This device is everything I expected. Seems to be built well, ergonomically it feels good and good torque. I just received the device today so I can not speak to it's longevity but so far I really like it and think it is worth the money. I also like that it is powered by more conventional batteries, i.e., two AAA cells as opposed to button batteries so often used in small devices. I don't like button batteries because they are too expensive!!!!
Awkward to hold switch while on screw
November 7, 2016
Initial impressions:No way to lock on lightNo way to lock on powerPulling a finger or thumb back far enough to actuate the switch feels awkwardOn a positive note, it feels like it has a lot of torque. I just wonder how easy it'll be to actually use that torque.Later impressions:I upgraded it to four stars. I used it on a motherboard and found its small size very useful. I found that I would hold it with both hands. The upper hand helps keep it aligned while the lower hand actuates the button.I think there are probably better ways to do this. Maybe a rocker button?Anyway, I found it worked very well in this application
General must tell 4mm bit feature more.
September 13, 2016
I have an original non-lighted model and I did not know they re-designed the driver to accept 4mm bits.Adapting 4mm bits is the definitely improvement from original model. But the lighted model is not 100% great. So I give 4 stars.I will recommend not buy this 502 lighted model because light turns on only driver is start moving.I want light and driver to be independent. For example I need a light when I look for screw keyhole. Light is not necessary once the driver engaged with screw head. For this reason I think less expensive Non-lighted model with flashlight will do the better job from my point of view.Though I only give 4 stars, this is the best sub-miniature screw driver to me. I cannot understand some people strip the motor gear?!. I believe they must using un-imaginal applications that I have never heard of. In fact I love to have adjustable torque limiting feature rather than more torque.
Nice for toys/batteries, but no position lock for tough screws.
February 17, 2016
This is a pretty decent little screwdriver, great for toy battery replacement! The nice long bits ensure that it will fit even in significantly recessed screw holes. This makes it quick and easy to do battery replacements. There is one caveat though. There is no "neutral" or fixed position. As such, a stubborn screw may be too tough for this tool to extract, which did happen to me on 1 battery bay. If this happens there isn't much you can do. Normally you'd expect to Lock the tool and manually force the screw free. But it will just turn around after applying sufficient force. Which probably isnt good for the motor or gears. So, I had to go get a different screwdriver...which kinda defeats the purpose of buying this one.If it had the lock mode, it would be perfect.
Great for Electronic work
November 15, 2015
I am a computer support specialist, and bought this to use for computer assembly, and parts exchanges.ProsEasy to use, can be held in multiple ways to get the job done, even in tight spaces.Grips on this bad boy work well, you don't need to worry about dropping it!It came with batteries, which is a big deal (Nobody gives you batteries anymore)attachment bits that came with are sturdy, and fit tightly into the chuck.ConsI fear if you were to attempt to unscrew an over tightened screw (even on a computer case) or torque down a screw, this thing might snap. It has the ability to loosen some pretty tough screws, and has quite a bit of torque to it, but the plastic casing this comes in isn't nearly as sturdy. I could see someone over torquing and ripping this bad boy apart.
Sweet precision electric screwdriver.
April 20, 2015
Yo, I like this tool. I read all of the many reviews and I hope it lasts, as long as the gears inside don't break. Some said theirs broke on the first job, others have been using it a long time. I think the trick is to use a manual tool to tighten and loosen fasteners, and use this to drive 'em out and in. Fingers crossed. It looks like a good tool, and spins at a reasonable speed - neither too fast nor unbearably slow. The switch is well done, and the bits fit snugly (including those from the Professional 45 Piece bit set I got with it). I was a skosh concerned, based on a couple of reviews that the bits would either fall out or be a pita to remove from the tool. I think it will be just fine. If not, I'll update the review.

Would give it 5 Stars if it would stand up in angle position.
What were you thinking, Dewalt?
Comes with two baterries
July 11, 2016
Pricey but it comes with two batteries so I guess it would be more expensive to buy it separately.
I say get one while you can.
March 18, 2014
I bought 2 of these, one for me, and one as a gift for a relative. This is a pretty heavy duty cordless driver, and the replacement batteries (available on amazon) are reasonable. I looked at the newer model, with LI battery, and did not care for it, but that is subjective, you might love it. Any way, you get a lot for your money with this kit, 2 Ni Cd batteries, charger and a metal box. I have had really good luck with Dewalt. One rater said that his bits popped out if the bit slipped off the screw, because this quick chuck releases when pulled to the rear. I se what he is saying, but it has not been an issue for me. I do like the quick chuck.

The only other comment, is that this driver Is larger than some of the others on the market, but it also has proportionately more power and battery while being smaller and more versatile that a full size drill driver. I will not give up my full size cordless drill drivers, as they have a lot more power for deck screws, and the like, but this driver definitely fills a niche, of a handier cordless driver, that is also cordless, and of professional quality.
Great and Handy Tool
February 17, 2014
I have used other brands of power screw drivers over the years and all have been good ones. In fact, I have worn every one of them out over time and some last longer than others. DeWalt makes quality tools and this driver is no exception. The charger works as advertised and charges the batteries quickly. The driver itself is substantial and you know you have a powerful yet flexible tool in your hands. It is sturdy, well made and fully adjustable from small dainty screws to big lags screws. The drill setting is great for small drilling jobs. Some may not like it because of its' size and/or weight. I give it a 4 instead of 5 only because I must see if it will stand the test of time, especially the batteries. If it is anything like my other DeWalt tools it should hold up well. So far, I've had it for two months at this writing and it has been great.
Nice drill
January 17, 2014
OK first, the chuck is terrible. I mean, it work well as its designed, but its designed wrong for this application.

the entire reason i wanted this was to have a small power driver i could shove into my toolbelt. my full size drill is hard to carry around.

While this driver works great, the moment you shove it in your toolbelt the quick release chuck pops the bit out- then youre stopping work to dig that bit out of your toolbelt. VERY annoying.

Im not even sure why they felt the need for a quick clip chuck. Just make it a twisty chuck like normal drills, ones that lock the bit in securely. This not only prevents the bit from falling out, it also holds it steadier so it doesnt wiggle on you when youre trying to pinpoint a bit before you start driving. Plus, this drill isnt very ideal for drilling anyway, thats what full size drills are for. So in reality, all you need this to do is phillips drive in most cases, so it makes no sense to worry about having a quick changing chuck.

Other then that, this drill is excellent. The battery life is very surprising, I can work (electrician) all day on a charge (screwing in outlets, driving drywall screws for various things). Very durable, and Good variable speed on the switch.

Received used and broken
May 21, 2017
This might have been a useful tool. I modify Technics turntables for fun and (hopefully) profit. The unit I received had been cut open and taped shut. I should have known this was a bad sign. The two furnished batteries were not opened so I took a chance and tried two of my own and sure enough only slight grinding sounds and no revolutions from the tool. Obviously inoperable. Then I noticed that two of the bits had been taken and in their place had been substituted two that were never intended to be used with this particular powered screwdriver and could not possibly have fit. But if one was going to return the tool, the T5 and T6 bits were the ones to keep for sure! Hard to find and would work in a mini-chuck in a Dremel tool.I'll call Amazon Customer Service and try and get them to replace this. I think it might be quite handy for repetitive small screw procedures and perhaps phono cartridge installation. If I ever get one that works l'll write an actual review!
Ok for the price, very slow however.
July 28, 2016
For the price it's not bad. Has very little power, which I expected, and turns slower than I would have liked. Almost to the point that it's annoying to wait for it, and it's faster to turn by hand. For so little torque I'd have expected it to be faster. Main reason I bought it was for a quick loosen and tighten of little screws, faster than by hand. Unfortunately, not so much.
I am sure this works fine for small electronic projects but if you need speed ...
June 13, 2016
Since the RPM's are rather slow, and this unit does not have a lot of power, basically it is faster for me to remove screws manually. I am sure this works fine for small electronic projects but if you need speed and more torque, spend a little more and get a unit more suited for the job. Not the fault of this product to be sure, but sometimes pictures just don't give you a good idea of just how small items really are.
You get what you get
April 11, 2016
I have owned this tool for quite some time and have to say, for the price, it's about an average piece of hardware. It has a limited amount of power, doesn't have a lot of torque and doesn't have a long battery life. If you use it a single time or two and do not have to depend on it, it does OK. Don't count on it for everyday technician use as it just won't last that long. The clutch begins to slip pretty quickly and after that happens, just toss it out as there is no fixing it. In summary, its not bad but not very strong and wears out pretty quickly.
Not bad, not great.
July 8, 2014
The pen does what you'd expect, turns automatically by two AAA batts. The downsides are the general spinning speed (SLOW), and the overall weakness vs. resistance. Turning a regular loose screw is no problem, but try to take out a dirty/rusted screw and this thing is useless. I timed it out and a regular small screwdriver is 3x faster. I guess if you're turning a lot of little screws this guy will save your wrists some work, but if you're going for speed, get a more powerful (pistol handle grip) electric screwdriver.
It works as intended, but it didn't last long
December 30, 2013
Awesome mini electric screwdriver. It does the job. I deal with screws all day longs, this tools helps me make my job faster and easier. However, they don't seem to last long. Few months, they I have to buy another one! Fortunately is relatively cheap. The downside is that I don't see any warranty. When I tried to call the Manufacturing company, they did not answer. Their answering machine is awful.1st Screwdriver: I was really happy with it, but after about 6 months it stop working. I am going to buy another one of those, just because this seems to be the only small electric screwdriver out there. I whish we had more choices.2nd Screwdriver: purchased and after few weeks it started slowly to stop working. Unfortunately there is no competition on this tool. Thus, I am stuck buying GeneralTools because I really need it for work.3rd: I saw another new model that comes with LED light integrated. I have just purchased it and hopefully it would not be as defective as the other two without light.

Nice but don't like nicad batteries
December 2, 2016
I have had 2 of these units and loved them both. After a year or so nicad batteries were unable to hold a charge and replacement batteries cost more than the tool itself. That's why I bought a second one, but batteries soon died again. This time I am replacing with a lithium battery unit.
Pretty good. I thought it would be a bit ...
April 18, 2016
Pretty good. I thought it would be a bit more powerful. But okay for the price.
Great tool, not so great battery pacs
October 6, 2014
I love these drivers, this is my third one as the batteries die and replacement cost is almost as much as the tool. This got three stars as one of the two batteries died within a few months of homeowner use. If the batteries held up it would get 5 stars easily.
overall a decent addition to toolbox
February 10, 2014
Only real complaint I have with this is the chuck lock. In my impact driver I have to pull the lock away from the driver head to remove or replace a hex bit, on this it goes towards the head. So, if I am working and put this in to my tool pouch, it has a tendency to unlock and drop out the hex bit. Get very annoying.

Overall, it works well. Seems to have plenty of power for what I use it for, which has been setting wall plates, small metal screws in vent pipe, etc... Just don't like the chuck lock.

Would be 5 stars if that were better!
Unexpected problem
January 6, 2014
We've had one DeWalt DW920 for several years. The price drop enticed me to buy another -- one for the garage; one for the cellar.

The new DW920 drill is identical to our original, as is the carry-case. But the battery chargers are incompatible. Batteries from our first drill 1 only fit in the original DW9118 charger; not the new DW9116 charger and vice versa. However all batteries fit either drill.

Maddening and disappointing.

(FWIW, the DW9116 charger is identical to the charger for our DeWalt 1/2-inch drill.)

So, although there is nothing wrong with this new drill kit, the charger substitution diminishes the convenience of having two 'identical' DeWalt drills.

... a move and this one was one of my favorite tools but it has broken after a few uses ...
January 21, 2017
I had this item before it was lost during a move and this one was one of my favorite tools but it has broken after a few uses and when I tried to open my laptop the flat bit bent and is now twisted. I now have a paper weight and was to busy to exchange so my window close because of some personal issue but regardless still wanted to let people know that this item may not be as good as it was when it first came out. It may be OK for other things but for laptops it may not work all the time and it may break on you so be careful.
Great price but a tad underpowered for my needs
August 27, 2016
Didn't seem like their product just for the little underpowered for what my needs actually turned out to be, so I did return it however I'm sure it would work for many people's needs if you're not doing large volumes of assembly or disassembly of electronics components or systems on a daily basis.
It will remove screws just fine, but tightening screws
December 15, 2015
A lot of my job involves updating signage, so there are a ton of tiny screws to deal with. This screwdriver was a lifesaver...until it wasn't. Ordered this in July and by November, it wasn't working as well. I thought it was the batteries, but new batteries didn't fix the issue. It will remove screws just fine, but tightening screws? A split second later it stops rotating. You can still hear the motor turning, but the bit is no longer engaged. A great tool to have, but I'd recommend not buying this specific one.
Was great for a bit! Unfortunately useful only for very low-torque situations
December 26, 2014
I purchased this specifically to work with computers. Especially when screwing down motherboards, having a powered screwdriver like this came in handy! Unfortunately I do not see much of a benefit of this compared with a manual screwdriver. It's debatable if this is faster or slower than a manual screwdriver, but I would say it's a bit slower. However, it is nice to be able to hold your hand in the perfect position to remove screws, but the bits are not magnetic. This is also definitely NOT a heavy duty tool whatsoever. Two months after using it, the internals of this screwdriver are stripped out and has barely enough torque to unscrew an already loosened screw, though this may be due to it being under-powered by design. From the beginning, I would have to manually loosen some screws, then use this screwdriver to finish the job. But there isn't much point in that because of the time involved. On the plus side, it was cheap and you get what you pay for. Just going to spend a little more money next time
Broke on the first day
May 28, 2014
Ended up breaking on the first day. The gears started slipping and the screwdriver wouldn't turn. It also felt incredibly cheap, definitely not worth $30.Luckily, I was able to return it.
Precision?? maybe for Jello
August 19, 2011
The chuck has a bad enough wobble to cause the tip of the bit to oscillate about 3/32". that is a Huge distance when trying to screw a 1/16" screw. I bought this because it advertises having a 1/8" straight screwdriver bit. It is not 1/8", it is 2mm. I want to use this for a lot electrical work using euro style terminals that have a 1/8" slotted screw in a plastic housing. It seems to me "made in china" once again means Bad quality for a items not closely checked. It is not worth the aggregation of boxing it back up and going out of my way to return it. I'll try to find an actual 1/8" slotted bit with a 1/8" hex shaft and suffer with the annoying wobble. The driver does have plenty of torque for size screws it is intended to be used for. The switch is solid with good contact forward and reverse, The unit is comfortable in my hand and feels solid. Just too bad the business end falls short of expectations

*UPDATED* READ WHAT THIS MODEL DOES AND DOESN'T DO, NOT ALL DRIVERS ARE THE SAME....
September 8, 2017
PRO:
1. Durable.
2. Power.
3. Two batteries.
4. Could drop this from about 7 feet a few times and will not break.

CON:
1. Heavy.
2. Not a rocker switch, i.e. up = forward, down = backwards you have to stop the driver, and push a button to change directions, very annoying.
3. Could have save $$$ and sell this without the case. What do I do with that case now?
4. Spark seen at the top vent on each use. I mean, I'm not going to use this around fumes, but still, kind of scares ya when you have it close to your face.
5. Can't use it corded / no corded option. In Japan they have a cord that has a battery end on it, so if both batteries are dead, you can grab that cord and still use it.

OTHER:
1. BUY if you want a very durable driver that has TWO batteries.
2. DON'T BUY as a result of the CONS above.

UPDATE 9/11/2017:
1. I had this on my wish list for months, waited to pull trigger on it, wanted to make sure, right price, etc. then the price drops $12.00 just days after I buy it. WTF! GURRRRRR!!
Ok drill but no torque.
December 27, 2016
No power, cant tighten a nut on a skateboard on full torque. Can drill decently into solid wood frames but dont try to tighten a nut where your life depends on it, it just doesn'nt have the power and you can smell it as if it's going to electrically burn out.
THIS ONE DOESN'T DESERVE THE NAME DeWALT
February 5, 2015
It seems to me that DeWalt could have done better. I have two sets of their tools 18 volt in southern California and 20 volt in Northern California. They all are very good. However, this one is a misfit. Problems: 1) It is too heavy for the small work it is designed to do. 2.) they put a light on other screwdrivers none on this one. 3.) The location of the button that allows it to bend or stay straight is difficult to work. 4.) The forward/reverse switch is not smooth.
Really?
April 23, 2013
I always try to be somewhat cautious when buying "used like new" or "used very good" here on Amazon. Sometimes there are reasons other than "it's the wrong color" or "got it as a gift, already own one" that items have been returned and are for resale. Please know that I have bought many items "used like new" and usually am very satisfied. The times I have been unsatisfied were when a tool had been used/ abused but still sold in like new condition. Yesterday I received my "used like new" screwdriver only to find that the drill chuck had a SEVERE wobble to it. I am not exxaggerating when I say it had close to 3/32" wobble on one revolution. It was blatantly bad. I tried removing an electrical cover plate and it kicked the bit off of the screw head before it even made it 1/4 of the way out. It's being returned today. What is strange about all of this is that there were absolutely NO signs of use/abuse, being dropped or scratches whatsoever (still in factory plastic). The unit appeared to be in mint condition. This leads me to believe that the driver left the factory this way and that in itself should trouble Dewalts quality control department. Anyway, I am leaving two stars not one because I feel I probably got a fluke and a rarity and Dewalt overall makes a pretty nice tool but it is still odd that they allowed this to hit the market. I am not the only reviewer to have had this problem. I would be cautious to buy this particular Dewalt tool (new or open box) again and may suggest looking at what Makita/Milwaukee has to offer.
Wobble Wobble
July 23, 2012
So I rarely leave bad reviews because I usually only buy products that have a history off good reviews. And I thought the same of this item. 240 reviews and 4.5 star average is pretty outstanding on Amazon. So I was excited to receive this item. But this thing wobbles! What the heck? I read a few reviews that said this, but that it was just the chuck. Well I put in a long 3 inch screw bit and the wobbling was obvious. Did I just get a defective one? How can you make a drill that does this? It has one job...to drill and drill straight! I am very displeased especially at the price and reputation of this brand. I will be calling dewalt today and report back. Anyone else had this issue or have a fix?

Piece of crap
February 27, 2017
This is a piece of crap. Dont buy it. It barely worked for 2-3 months with very light usage. Now the motor spins but the shaft holding the bit wont budge. Customer service is horrible. They never pick up the phone. When I finally got thru after trying for 5 days, I was asked to email my receipt and problem description to "v.acevado@generaltools.com". So far I have not heard back from him.
good product, but not for serious use on computers ...
January 17, 2017
my fault, i didnt read the full description, this is only powered by 2 little triple A's, not enough torq to loosen even the simple screw on a mother board, gave it to my daughter , she make jewlry.good product , but not for serious use on computers or cell phones.fast delivery, well wrapped
It has very little torque and wasnt able to unscrew ...
September 24, 2015
It has very little torque and wasnt able to unscrew any of the screws on my computer case, that were hand tightened (and not overly so). its remarkably weak sounding when it runs, and in general just doesnt seem up to the task. I can't really think of any factory set screws in consumer electronics that this would be able to turn. Its possible mine was defective.
POS.
January 24, 2015
If I could give this negative stars, I would. I bought this for my husband to replace one he got around christmas a few years back. (Different brand) This item seems to be sold only around holidays and its such a bummer because the actual concept is a MUST HAVE! That being said, this particular driver is a POS. Im not expecting too much from the tool either....This came without ANY packaging, or insert/instructions. (Not that it needed any). First thing I noticed was that is looked used, the drill bits were wrapped in cellophane, and the drill had no packaging to speak of. It didn't work straight out of the padded envelope it came in. The teeth on the gears were all striped. Even though they are made out of what looks like metal, it acts like pencil lead. The motor spins, but there's no oomph! behind it at all. Worst thing I've ever bought! And I buy things from the 99cent store. I havent taken the time to send it back, because it's more hassle than I can manage, and i damn sure don't want a replacment. Not unless they started using different parts altogether! Not happy at all
Poor quality motor, ergonomically difficult to use
June 25, 2013
The brushed motor used inside this screw driver is of such poor quality that every other use, the rotor gets stuck between two brushes, so you have to give the head a twist until the motor starts working again. The button is also very stiff and difficult to use for any duration of time. I used it for an hour and started feeling it in my wrist.
cheap motor. burned out after 2-3 use
February 9, 2013
Cheap product. Used it on a total of two items before it burnt out. I bought it mainly for changing the batteries out of the kids toys. I realize its a precision screwdriver and that its not meant for heavy jobs, so i made sure i unscrewed it initally and used the power to do the rest. However after the 2-3 usage, it stopped working. Will stick to the manual ones. Feels like a piece of junk to me!

Stopped working after 3 uses.
September 16, 2017
I purchased this tool in July of this year. I'm not a professional so I only used it 3 times since then till now (sep>) On my fourth use of the tool, after screwing in one screw it stopped working. No power no nothing. I made sure both batteries were charged, tried it again not working. I called amazon. They said it was too late to return it and to call DeWalt. A day or two later I was ready to call them when I went to the garage to try it again. It worked. Anyone else having this problem? I will call DeWalt to discuss.

Needs a light... most people will use ...

Needs a light... most people will use this tool in a hard to reach places where, you guessed it, there is minimum light. Don't buy unless they add an LED light (like all other drills they make)

Not up to par with the other DeWalt tools I own. No real power. Will return.
older model was better - returned it
January 28, 2014
My batteries finally died on my older cordless screwdriver of the exact same model.
Rather than pay $50 for new batteries, I decided to pay a few dollars more for the screwdriver with the batteries.
Turns out they have "improved" the trigger switch.
The newer switch doesn't pull near as far as the old one.
And the variation comes at the end of the pull ... like the last 1/4 to 1/8 inch. It's really weird.
And sometimes nothing happens when the trigger is pulled.
And finally, the slider that reverses the rotation and locks the trigger easily comes out of position and you end up trying to pull a locked trigger. I suppose I could have gotten a bad one but I don't feel like trying again.
I returned it. Time to look for another model.
