Our adopted dog tore a huge gash on our other dog's head
April 18, 2016
Last week was a very expensive week for us. We adopted a very food driven dog a year ago. He was a stray at 6 months or so, we got him from the pound. We trained him constantly. He lives with me, hubby and our 3 year old beagle mix.I work from home and devote all my attention to my dogs. I was able to train them to use the potty indoors, and all the basic commands. They even know to not go out of our house despite us loading and unloading the car/s.However, his food possessiveness has gotten scary. He occasionally would bite me and my husband without breaking the skin over food, such as us getting a treat back from him after he stole it from us during training sessions. After we corrected him, the problem would go away from some time. Our other dog is not really interested in food. We never thought that an extreme event would happen since we've had them both for a year. And then, the horrible happened last week. I was working and was wearing a noise cancelling headset. The beagle mix came crying to me, I ignored her for a few seconds. She kept coming at me, and I saw something dark on her forehead. I realized she was wounded. Bad. The gash on her head was horrible- the skin was hanging and she was bleeding all over. Our male dog bit the older 3 year old dog so bad she needed 4 stitches. It cost us $400 to rush her to the emergency room. 4 stitches and 2 hours later, we headed home. I realized I both gave them new toys and treats before I started working. It confirmed our need to get a drastic correction tool for our very food driven dog. We exhausted all other means. I am so glad we did. We no longer fear him when it comes to food. Just a zap of 8 is our maximum. He is quickly learning to obey. I take off the collar when I am not training him, but leave a similar weight collar all the time.
Good product, poor instructions.

I bought this product for my senior dog that is slowly going deaf and is also slowly losing her vision. We have a fenced in yard and when I would let her out for potty time, she would not hear or see me calling or motioning for her to come inside. Obviously, it was to the point where I was concerned about her safety and needed a way to let her know she need to come back to me. This product was just what I needed to address this issue; although, I only use the vibrate and beep (which seems to be high-pitched enough that she can hear it) features, and haven't used the shock feature on her. The only issue I have with this product is I had to find a YouTube video explaining how to set it up as the instructions that come with the package are woefully lacking. Other than that, this product works as it should and I have had no issues with it. Best of all, my dog has learned to respond to the vibration and beep cues and I no longer worry so much about her safety.

I'll admit that my wife was right... She wanted these much more than I did. I thought they would be inhumane and ineffective. I will say publically that I was wrong. Our two dogs were already good dogs, but they would run wild if off leash. They also would not listen to basic commands even though they knew them. The real reason we got them when we did is that one of our dogs chased our cat. The dog was trying to be playful, but she did corner and terrify the cat, so we had to do something, and this was my wife's solution. The first real use was when the dog went after the cat one more time, we gave her a zap at about 40%. We have not had a problem since. For most correction the vibrate setting is enough to get them to "chill out" when they start playing to rough with each other. What truly sold me on the effectiveness of these collars is when we tried some off leash training. We were on some private land and let both dogs off leash. They were running and playing, when they started getting to far we gave them both a light zap and they stopped. They started to run away one more time. On that second zap they both turned over a new leaf. Ever since then I've been able to walk them off leash and have them stay near by. If they are running and playing and I yell for them to come back they do. I've usd the vibrate and audio setting a couple times, but I haven't had to zap either of them since and that was over a month ago.I love that I can control both from the same remote. I can set each to a different setting depending on the dog and just go from a shock on one to a buzz on the other. Or I can have the shock set higher on one than the other which is helpful since the boy has a very thick coat relative to our girl.I hate to say that my wife was right, but I do recommend these collars.

This device works great. I only have 1 dog but the cost difference between 1 or 2 collars was $10 so why not have a spare or a second in the event I get another dog. My dog has an electric fence at home so he is familiar with the collar idea. When we were hiking however he would chase deer or other animals and just disappear off into the woods knowing full well he didn't have a leash on and I couldn't catch him. Other than yelling at him when he returned 20 min later I had no way to correct this behavior. I've had him out 2 dozen times for hikes with the collar and had to use the shock maybe 3-4 times early on. He responds so well now just to my voice that every once in a while I give him the vibrate just to remind him I can "reach out and touch him". I would advise strongly to only use the shock for the worst offenses because honestly it does hurt and you don't want the dog to be terrified, just aware that certain behaviors won't be tolerated. This device is not nearly the quality of the ones that hunting dogs are trained with but for $40 it's waterproof and rechargeable, features you'd normally only find on higher end models. So far so good.
Trained my monster in a day!!!

This product was amazing!!! I have the most stubborn lab mix I have ever seen! Nothing has worked with his chewing toys, pulling trash from the trash can, finding random chewed shoes under the bed!!! For one year we've struggled with what could possible work! In one afternoon he has learned to correct almost every bad habbit he had!! Highly recommend!!!

This thing is AWESOME!! I love that it comes with TWO collars and receivers, plus it has four settings. Ive never been a fan of shock collars, but this one is good. I like the vibration setting and so far I have not had to shock either of my dogs, the vibration warning has been more than sufficient. My male dog (basset hound) listens 95%of the time and has always come to me when Ive called him, it took only one reminder and he obeys all commands now. My female on the other hand is a bit more hard headed. Shes a major digger and I have tried everything. The invisable fence...ya that was an expensive joke...didnt even phase her. This collar I placed on the vibration setting (100-highest) and so far have had to remind her twice. Its been pretty comical to watch as she really kicks up the dust running to where I have called her and now all I have to do is place the collar on her before letting her outside. Shes a whole new dog, listens and very obiedient, best of all that damn digging has stopped!!! I wish I had known this collar was availble sooner. I had no idea shock collars came with a variey of options and not having to use the shock option really makes me feel better. Hands down this is the best tool ive come across. Its also water proof. Both were out playing in the rain and no problems there. I saw one review where someone complained they were not water proof. I dont think your supposed to let your dogs swim in a pool with them (DUH) where they are submerged for a long time in water. No problems or complaints here!! EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!

The device works great on its own. Just some technical difficulties to work out.

The collar works great. The only issue that I have had was the charger one plugged in created a short in the collar. I let the manufacturer no and they issued a refund. My dog learned really quick with the color on.The only issue I would hope would be fixed is the issue I ran into charging it and the device shorting out. I am going to re-purchase this collar because it works so well. I understand that some products have defects and I'm not stressed about it.

Absolutely amazing. Easy to use and charge lasts for over a week. From the first time I put it on my dog that would not stop barking at anything and everything he got his first response to now 2 months later I dont have to worry about my neighbors complaining. It is very durable and water resistant for my water loving furry child. It is everything promised in the product info.
Great for barking dogs in apartments
March 31, 2016
It actually worked on my dogs, they were barking all the time. I only used the shock setting a few times, on low - I have a 20lbs and a 30lbs dog. Once they figured out the shock comes after the vibrate I only had to use the vibrate setting.
More expensive, but worth it. Packs a whallop!
March 16, 2016
This was our second bark collar. Unlike the first (much cheaper) bark collar we got, this one does not go off every time she scratches herself (this one has variable sensitivity and variable shock voltage), and she can't just ignore it and keep barking (plenty of juice).Be careful with this one - it packs a whallop, but you have to get it tight to get good contact. I kept turning the settings up higher because it didn't seem to be working, then I tightened down the strap, after which she barked once and then made a fair impression of a dog being electrocuted to death (my wife, not usually given to dramatics, shrieked "It's killing her!" and tackled her to stop her hysterics and pull it off.Now we keep both sensitivity and voltage at a very low setting, and it's plenty. She can still whine and scratch, but she can't wake the neighbors in the middle of the night anymore, for which I am sure they are grateful.

This bark collar works great. Have a German short hair pointer who decided to bark at anything when an older dog was put down. Gave her time to adjust but she continued the behavior. Put the tone and shock on the lowest level and she immediately got the message. After one week we are on vibrate only! I think we could put it on her without turning it on! She also seems less anxious when she is roaming our large yard. Received the product quickly and would recommend to anyone whose dog is annoying the neighborhood!
This product worked great for my dog
November 4, 2015
This product worked great for my dog. I love the convenience of having a rechargeable bark collar. I tried battery operated ones, but they would die around every two weeks. My neighbors were beginning to complain, and my dog was beginning to become the neighborhood nuisance with his excessive barking. We have now calmed down his barking drastically, and my dog still knows that we love him.I received this product for a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Still works after almost 3 years
September 19, 2017
I have one (of 3) dog who barks at night and this collar has worked great! I tried the shock settings on myself and found it quite harsh ( I get easily shocked off of water taps in ungrounded houses etc) but I have never had to use more than the vibrate. One hit when she is barking at the fence and she comes running right back to me. Mostly just putting it on her at night was enough.I bought this almost 3 years ago and she has slipped into her old ways again so I pulled the collar out again and was please to find it worked perfectly still. One star off because the transmitter does fall off the collar, I sewed it on at either end and that works fine, a bit of a hassle to get it off for recharging but since I very rarely actually have to hit the button, the collar stays charged for a very long time (a month or more)

December 30, 2015
I have 2 dogs and this has been great. You have to charge all 3 items before they can be used, and unfortunately it only comes with one cable. The cable is a USB plugin, but it does not come with the wall adapter, but that's not a big deal since most people have a couple lying around. The battery can be accessed on the remote to be replaced if need be. DON'T LET THE REMOTE GET WET! If it does get wet, take the collar off the dog! If not, at some random time of day you'll have to figure out why your dog started yelling and crying and then have to catch the bitch to get the collar off because it randomly decided to shock her and won't stop. But if you do leave the remote out in the rain, you can take the battery cover off and let it sit out in the open air until it dries and then it'll still work fine after it is dry. The range is closer to 100 yards, definitely not 330. So far it has been a good product, especially for the price.

This has some really great features and a few that make you scratch your head. The range is pretty good. I can be in the house upstairs and zap the dogs if needed but you have to press and HOLD the button to send the signal not just press it. They are made well and rugged and a GREAT deal for the price. The bad: You get one charger to charge the remote and two collars. Sometimes it takes a few hours to charge each part so you might be charging 6 hours to get everything charged. Adding an additional charger or an adapter to charge all three things at once would be much better. The charging port on the collars is ridiculously small and looks just like the re-set button it is next to so if you put the charger port in the wrong hole you will re-set the programming on the collar. You also have to remove the collar strap from the receiving unit every time you have to charge it so its like taking the collar apart every time you charge it. I also wish there was a way to see how much charger the transmitter and collars have. I just get in the habit of charging the unit every two days or so but if that is charging it too much or two little your guess is as good as mine. s
Just reciever on June 5th, will update revieve with further use.
June 5, 2015
Just received item in mail today, upon un-boxing I found a complete instruction booklet, two bags of prongs for the devices, two collars, two receiver units, and one hand held unit with a usb to wall 110v style charger. First thing I noticed with these units is where the power button is located under the collar , I find this a hard to reach area once the collar is installed due to charging and turning off, sooner or later the collar or plastic will wear and one will give, probably the plastic, but will see how it goes. So far the units look well constructed, I used it at night after a charge and the "Light" setting option is not a viable option at all as for the light is not on the front of the unit and it is hard to see the red blinking light, even though the instructions says it will be green. So far the sound is pretty decent, but does sound like a broken buzzer or blown horn , lol but gets the dogs attention, the vibration mode is pretty noticeable at one setting 100 is very noticeable, one 1 the shock is faint unless held tight in your hand, I wouldn't recommend doing it at 100, pretty strong , knocked me almost down and I am a fairly sized guy 50 seemed to be enough for a large dog, will update this review as time progresses using this unit, so far it seems pretty decent for price , features, just annoying to remove one collar sleeve to charge or turn the unit off and the useless light option. time will tell on reliability of batteries and the unit since all have built in rechargeable.. Not sure about weather or water resistance yet or shock resistance to bumps drops etc. I have other collars that range into 100's of dollars so far this one is two for a 1/3rd of the cost.. happy so far. Update February 4th 2016, both units working really well still never heard back from the representative about reviewing this item I didn't buy it to get it for free about it to use but still would like a return reply, so far so good paid for itself.
Great value for quick training reinforcement.
May 13, 2015
I was hesitant to buy these because they're cheap. I've had expensive collars in the past that worked great and I was skeptical that something this low cost could be reliable, but budgets win and I bought these. They've been great. The receivers are small and light enough for even tiny dogs. Our little 15 pound terrier wears one, but we did have to buy a different collar as the ones included couldn't be made small enough (a $4 fix at Walmart). They have recharged reliably and hold a charge for many days. All functions have worked reliably. The buttons could be a little more intuitive - I'd suggest applying a little paint or something to quickly identify collar selection and "fire" buttons. I tend to want to hit the mode button instinctively instead of the fire button. The key to using these collars is to be very attentive to your dogs behavior, if you issue a command (they must already understand what that command means) and they do not respond, then immediately issue the shock or vibration for reinforcement. Usually they will quickly not need the collar anymore. When using shock, just use the lowest setting that gets their attention. Even on my big tough labrador retriever a setting of 3 is more than enough. You can (and should) shock yourself to see that it's just a little tickle at those settings and you're not "hurting" anything. It gets the dogs attention and startles them a bit to know that when master says something they are to listen. Now, these are low cost devices and its obvious they are not heavy duty field grade collars. I would not buy these if I had serious working dogs. If your retriever, pointer, or security dog is hard at work in tough conditions I do not think these collars (nor the trasmitter) would take much abuse. If your family pet needs a little reminder around the house or on casual walks then that's the market these were designed for.As for the claims that the collars burn dogs, that's complete nonsense and the result of foolish users leaving the collars on too long so the prongs are rubbing their dogs hide raw. Don't do that. These should only be used during interactive training sessions. You DO NOT leave these on for long periods of time. If you do, then you should wear the collar yourself all day long and see if you get some rub marks...duh.
Good value and works as expected, but confusing when using with multiple dogs/collars.
March 3, 2015
The collars work as expected and so far are working fine. I like how there are 100 different levels of correction for both the vibration and the shock. The vibration is strong enough to disrupt any bad behavior without having to resort to the electrical shock. We only want to use the electric shock correction when absolutely needed so the vibration feature is very nice. I would give this 5 stars except for the following issues.-Charging the collars is a little inconvenient as you need to remove the nylon collar strap from the module to expose the rubber plugs that cover the charging port and reset port. The strap does insure the plugs are in place, but it is a pain to have to unhook the strap.-I wish they included two charging cables, or have the one cable be a "Y" cable so I could charge both collars at the same time.-With two dogs it is not easy/straight forward to use the remote. You need to be very careful you are sending the desired correction to the correct dog. This added vigilance takes some time, which when you need to correct your dog quickly takes a bit too much time. You need to expect the worst of your dog so you are ready to send a correction when needed. This can be difficult with two dogs. I wish there were separate buttons for each dog. I used bright pink tape to mark one of the collars and put a piece of the same tape on the remote with a big "2" on it so I knew which dog was which.-Also as above I wish there was another button that would "beep" both dogs so I could call them both in.

great item
works as advertised, results how ever may vary.
May 3, 2016
product worked as described, so i cant fault it. unfortunately it did not help in training my dog to not bark after several weeks of use. the belt can be improved if you tighten the studs too tightly it actually forces out the belt and can come off the shocker but at the same time you cant leave it too slack because then the studs just come off after a while on their own. i tried using washers but the screw tops are not long enough to accommodate the thickness of the belt and the washers, and these were not thick washers. maybe you'll have better luck than i do.
I think it's a good

Solid product. Worked after the first day for my 8 month old Labrador. Only negative I can say is that the device itself does not stay on as well as it should. Other than that, I think it's a good product

This bark collar works great and I love the fact that it is rechargeable. I had one incident where it started to continually shock my dog, it was set to max sensitivity. I have not had any issues since.
It has a "Vibration Only" setting that in our experience works better than the shock
December 13, 2015
Yes this unit works. The first shock scared the hell out him but got his attention. It has a "Vibration Only" setting that in our experience works better than the shock. We've used the vibration only mode a total of three times and we no longer need the collar. Be conservative with the shock setting or better yet just go with the vibration only mode. This may require a bit longer to train but you'll feel a lot better about using the collar. This is a really effective unit and it delivered results as promised.
Adjustable, multi levels of sensitivity, Will vibrate but won't shock
November 26, 2015
It's a nice color and easy to adjust to almost any dog. Once the collar size is a digested to your dog you can cut off the remaining piece so it doesn't hang. It seems to hold a charge for a good while, as long as it's not constantly scaring your dog. my dog isn't much of a barker except when people come near the door so his battery tends to last longer than a dog that is a chronic barker. It has two types of dials, a sensitivity one and an intensity one with 10 levels on each one which make it a tad confusing to choose the right setting.Although it says it shocks, I have yet to feel it or get it to do it. I've tried all types of variations on the settings and can get it to vibrate but not shock, which the vibration scares my dog on its own.I do wish It had a remote control so I could control on demand training. If you want vibration training only then this collar will work well. If you have any questions not covered in my review please feel free to ask. 😊Received product in exchange for honest review.

When you open the box it looks like you are looking at toys
April 12, 2017
This one surprised me. When you open the box it looks like you are looking at toys, everything is so small, nobody that I saw mentioned that in the reviews. That being said, everything seems to be working as it's supposed to. I should warn you about the shock feature, I couldn't shock myself because I have a heart part, my adult daughter volunteered; I had it on a low setting (12 I think) and she said about 3 on the pain scale but she had symptoms that lasted for an hour. Muscle spasms, taste of metal & some numbness near the shock site. I intend to use the shock feature as little as possible. I have a deaf dog and my whole reasoning was to be able to vibrate her to page her, but if she thinks she is in trouble or gets outside, she runs from you & this has to stop.
Totally inconvenient for more than one dog!
August 21, 2016
I really wanted to love these, but I just found myself more frustrated than anything else with this product, especially for the price! I had previously owned a set of DogWidgets collars that I purchased during a cyber monday sale and absolutely loved them! Sadly, my clever dog got a hold of one of the collars when nobody was looking and chewed it up! Even though all we ever used was the vibrate setting on him, (with the exception of once when we were training him not to est the chickens), he knew enough to know that he wasn't a fan and that they needed to go! LOL!When I went back on Amazon to try to replace the collar, I discovered that it was going to be almost as much money as I had paid for both of them because of the great Cyber Monday deal that I got, and a complete new set was double the price. Needless to say, our budget was tight as it was nearing Christmas time and we were getting ready to go on the road to visit family and needed every penny... but also needed collars, so I settled for these. They don't seem to hold a charge for very long, I feel like they spend more time off of our dogs necks and plugged in than theu do on them. The other real issue that I have is that instead of having separate, different colored buttons for each collar, and different colored collars as did my old set, this one had all the same buttons but with one button that you switch modes on between 1 and 2 and both collars were the same color. The problem with this is that it is really easy to get the collars confused and it is necessary each time you remove them from the dog to test them to make sure which setting is for which collar and which dog. That can be a pain considering the fact that you are constantly taking them off and I found it difficult to always remember which dog was on which setting which occasionally resulted in the wrong dog being corrected.I also prefered the simplicity if the buttons of my old collar set. V for vibrate, Love for low shock and Happy for high shock... all vertically placed on top of one another and one row for each collar so a total of 6 buttons, three in a row, side-by-side in two different colors. Super easy to figure out which is which. With these collars you have to click one button to click through which setting you want: light, beep, or shock, and then you have to push another button to determine how high of a shock you want to use, 1-100. Maybe this would be okay for one dog, but its a nightmare for two because after all that, THEN you have to select if you want collar one or collar two for which dog you are correcting. This is especially a problem during the heat of the moment when you need your collars the most! It is a frustrating nightmare to maneuver the buttons to make sure that it is on the right setting to correct the right dog when you are in an urgent situation. Case in point: I took my dogs on a run with me a few weeks ago and about a mile into the run, a moose ran across our path. My big male dog immediately broke loose, bolted and ran after the moose before I could stop him. Luckily, I was able to hold on to my female, but unfortunately because I had to fumble with which setting was which dog, he was out of range long before I was able to get the collar in the right mode to stop him. I finally caught up with him about 30 minutes later when the Moose gave him the slip at the river, and needless to say, I was a less than happy camper.I don't even bother trying to use them anymore and will be waiting until Black Friday or Cyber Monday to hopefully find myself another DogWidget set on sale!
What I don't like about this collar is that it shuts off automatically ...
February 6, 2016
My dog was driving me completely crazy by barking any time she heard a sound outside. This collar has helped greatly in reducing her barking. I generally only use the Beep setting. She knows she is being corrected when she hears that sound. I only used the shock setting one time on level 5 out of 100 and my dog yelped and was terrified for hours afterward. I never used it again after that because it seemed too harsh. She is only 30 pounds and she is very skinny, so maybe the shock setting would be okay to use on a bigger dog. What I don't like about this collar is that it shuts off automatically after a certain amount of time of non-movement. This is a problem for me because sometimes my dog barks while laying down (lazy!) so the motion sensor isn't triggered and I can't correct her. There are also times when she actually is moving but still nothing happens when I hit the remote. This is not good because it prevents me from being consistent in correcting her. Not sure if I just have some faulty equipment or what. The battery in each collar lasts about two weeks for me. When the battery starts to die, the collar will beep. I wish it did not do that because if I don't proactively switch out the collars to charge before they die, the beep makes my dog think she is being corrected even though she has not done anything wrong. It also beeps once when you plug in the charger.
Not ideal for multiple dog use - but your mileage may vary.

This is a toss-up. We got this to help us work on the dog's fence aggression. Anything on the other side of any fence is The Enemy. If they were off leash in the yard and someone or something walked past it was like someone cried havoc and let loose the hounds of hell.Enter the collars. One dog was completely unfazed my the highest zap settings. One dog completely shut down and went neurotic after the smallest vibrate. The two dogs are sisters of the same breed - go figure.Trying to use the remote to switch between the two when both were acting out at the same time was nigh impossible. By the time you got to the correct collar - the effective training moment had passed. This collar would probably work better when used on one dog at a time in a less chaotic setting
OK for price
July 18, 2015
This is an OK product for the money. After a short time the up button stopped working, which is an issue when your dog ignores your reprimand and you need to quickly increase the intensity, especially since it goes up to 100 ( meaning you can only go down... Through 100 levels). I would definitely have spent more money for a system with a better remote - it is very cheap and lightweight and the buttons are too easy to accidentally engage. The receivers easily fall off the collar, which could easily be remedied with some electrical tape, if you don't mind redoing it every time you charge the collar since the collar lies on the charge port.I recently purchased the more expensive model with the plastic collars which seems so far to have all these problems solved.
Didn't affect my dog in the slightest.
December 19, 2014
So far I'm confused by this product. It seems as though I may be daft but the directions, in my opinion are not detailed enough. At this time I got this item in the mail but my 6 month old pup has just been spayed and is wearing her Elizabethan collar (AKA: Cone of Shame or Lamp Shade) and my husband worries that she'll choke with both the lamp shade and the collar so we're waiting 5 more days for it to come off.Criticisms...1) The directions do not tell you to add the small plugs to the screws, I originally had no idea they were in the box and thought that the screws went directly to the skin.2) I can't tell when the collar / remote are fully charged.3) I don't get the point of the flashlight or light feature on the collar. The flashlight on the transmitter is similar to one that goes on your keychain to see where to put the key into the slot, I can't see it doing much more than that. The light on the collar, well my dog has a lot of hair being a sheepadoodle, so I couldn't see it if I wanted to.Praise:1) You'll think I'm crazy, but I tried the shock mode on myself at very low levels (only at 4) I couldn't even feel it. In my opinion that's going to be a good thing for small dogs. My doodle is 34 lbs and I'm not intending on using the shock, but I love that this device has 100 levels of customization.2) The vibration levels are great, I can now correct my dog when she jumps or digs without having to be on top of her.3) I like the sound feature letting me know where my pet is. My husband and I went out the other day and normally the puppy is always downstairs if not with us, she was upstairs in a closet (don't ask me why) but this would have let us easily locate her if she had it on. We think she's having hearing problems, maybe ear infection, with the e-collar on and she had no idea we came home and we couldn't find her.Update 1/30/15: This product went back to Amazon quite a while ago I just forgot to update my post. As previously posted I won't use shock on our puppy. I couldn't get a consistent vibration from 10 feet away, so my dog didn't realize she was being deterred. When I was next to the receiver it went off without fail, but from 10+ feet away it was sketchy. Sometimes my dog would jump as though she was going 'What just happened??' other times she'd continue digging like nothing ever happened.

Did not work for me.
June 13, 2016
Did not work for my dog, although his bark is very high-pitched, so that might be why.
burt doggie bit daddy
May 14, 2016
Worked good but dog didn't like it at all bit me pretty good when it went off and he was yelping and wouldn't stop had it on 2 which is the lowest setting and he weighs 25 lbs had to put on vibrate after that and wasn't very affective
Fair. Pay more for better if you can.
February 18, 2016
Great concept...trying to train our dogs not to bark but can't always be present in the back yard to use an e-collar so thought this would be great. Want them to bark if there's a 'problem' but not to bark at the trash truck or the neighbors....not sure if it will keep them from barking at all?? But, one collar (we ordered 2) works and the other doesn't. We are going to have to return one. They are okay for the price. If you really want to be sure you have a quality item you might check out others and pay a bit more to be sure. Hate to hassle with returns!!!!!

not big enough for a great dane
Maybe it's just my dog.
February 2, 2016
This is tough to rate. I have a small dog and those are always the hardest to find effective collars for, it seems. We tested it on ourselves and it worked and we even saw the green light come on when she barked. Barking decreased the first two days but then she was back to normal. We made sure it was charged and tried different settings but it seems as though our crazy little dog adjusted and stopped caring. We were grateful and relieved to receive a refund without any issue.

January 31, 2016
I bought this for my maltipoo who barks a lot at every little noise she hears. My mistake was that I had put the dial all the way to 7 the first time I used it. The problem was it didn't vibrate or do anything after she barked. It vibrated/shocked when she was shaking her body trying to get rid of it on her neck. She shrieked really loud I got really scared for her. After that she's just quieter and calmer but looked scared. I gave her a few days of rest and put it back to about 1or 2. Almost same thing happens. Sometimes it would vibrate when she barks but sometimes would only vibrate when she's shaking her body/face area. But overall it calmed her down and not barking too much. Before she would bark continuously now probably one or two times only when she barks at something or someone.

Didn't work for our pups
June 7, 2017
We bought these for our dogs and it no effect on them at all. The only thing that got their attention was the whistle, but it just made them look or try to run from it. Did not modify their behavior at all. Hopefully someone else has better luck.

February 25, 2017
These shock collars worked well for the 2 months we had them then one day they both quit working. They wouldn't charge and the plastic that holds the collars in broke on both sides. I didn't pay a whole lot online for these so I got my money's worth for the short while they worked. It takes time to program the receiver remote so make sure that when programming 2 collars you remove one from the area before attempting to program the 2nd collar. Otherwise you will run into issues with programming.
Not consistent enough
August 14, 2016
The collars will randomly not receive signals from the remote, one dog will work but not the other even after switching back and forth. Will decide on it's own whether it'll work again. Transmitter stopped working completely after 8 months. The collars are nice but the fit seems to adjust itself and it does not stay tight on either dogTransmitter is clumsy switching dogs and between stimulations, you can learn it quickly but must always double check to see what dog it is on. It also doesn't not have a safety feature like some higher end e-collars to prevent accidental button pushes. Light mode on the collars is totally worthless
Not impressed
March 23, 2016
This product is not at all what I expected. We now don't use it at all because it worked so poorly. First thing is the quality. It all just seems really cheap and poorly made. Then it only works if the dog is facing in the same direction as the remote and the remote is pointed directly at the sensor on the collar. This doesn't work when a dog is running around barking (which is exactly when you need it to work). I thought about giving it to a friend, but I wouldn't even want to do that. I will likely just donate it to the Goodwill. Great price, but you are getting exactly what you're paying for so don't expect much beyond that.
Easy set up
August 9, 2015
I had high hopes for this product, as it performed very well out of the box. Easy set up, fairly simple function, but not completely intuitive. The reason I am giving it 2 stars is for two faults, both of which are battery related. The rechargeable battery that is in the transmitter will only last about 60 days before completely crapping out. It will hold a charge just fine, even longer than expected, but around the 2 month mark, mine would not hold a charge AT ALL. Second issue with the battery is that you cannot purchase a replacement to solve issue number one. The battery that is installed in this unit is soldered in and not replaceable, which in my opinion when dealing with ANYTHING rechargeable, this should be a no brainer... offer replacement batteries! As for function and effectiveness during the time this product worked, it worked extremely well.
Pops off easily.
March 13, 2015
Stupid things pop off the black band with little to no effort. Walking my dog, it pops off. Put it on another dog and within 1 hour it is off.It is not worth the money to buy it if it wont stay on.Update: There is a newer model that seems to address my issues. They changed the collar portion out and the receiver received some improvements. Buy the updated model. This older model is still defective in design.

Ineffective Bark Collar
June 5, 2016
I have four dogs, but one of them is a chronic barker. And so I purchased this collar thinking this would correct the barking issue. After my barker wore it, it didn't appear to do anything. I recieved a letter from a neighbor who complained about the barking while I was at work. Therefore, I feel the collar is ineffective.Unfortunately, I cut the collar for the sizing purpose, so I was not able to returned it.
( Needs a much better design to ensure it will not fall off
April 21, 2016
I have had this for about a week and the bark battery part is NOW lost. Most collars the battery part is connected through the collar. I know because I have had four shock collars over the years. This does not and the connectors loosened after being really tight against the collar and the bark batter fell off and is lost somewhere in the yard/house ;( Needs a much better design to ensure it will not fall off.
Love the idea of a rechargeable dog collar I spend ...
March 8, 2016
Well it is rechargeable in the battery does seem to last long time at least long enough for us to go out for a shopping trip it doesn't seem to work though and the voltage is very sensitive. I tried using it on myself and when I did get it to activate it would shock my arm into Oblivion even on a very low setting. I finally got of adjusted to a point where it was just a mild tingle. But I seriously doubt my dog barking will activate it. Love the idea of a rechargeable dog collar I spend a fortune on batteries but I'm just going to stick with my old one

We got this a few days ago and it seems to rarely work on my dog, when i try to test the collar it dont seem to test active when i try.
Works but not well made
January 20, 2016
Although it seems to help with the barking, the prongs, which are not part of the device (they screw on and hold the device in place on the collar) unscrew themselves pretty quickly. I learned this the hard way and now have a small piece of metal someplace in my house for my kitten to find and eat. Additionally, the way I discovered it was missing is that the device was going off by itself without the dog barking, hanging by one prong. Thankfully it was set to vibrate and not shock. So it works, if the prongs don't detach on their own.
Don't bother with this one.
January 12, 2016
I love that this is rechargeable, and adjustable for just about any size dog. But either it doesn't get a good connection, doesn't work, or my dog doesn't care, but whatever the reason, it does not deter her from barking all night long. I'm getting a muzzle instead.

Doesn't work for very long
February 22, 2016
This item was working perfectly fine for the first two months but then the remote display stopped working for no apparent reason. The return date had already passed and since I had memorized all the functions, I just kept using it. Then both collars simply stopped receiving a signal a few weeks ago and even after following the reset instructions, they simply refuse to react. None of the items have ever gotten wet or anything, since my dog is terrified of the rain, so I just don't understand what happened. Before all went wrong, this was a huge help in training my stubborn animal to behave. Too bad.
Poor design
February 20, 2016
We just bought the PetrainerIS-PET 998DR-2.You got it for a few days now. The System seems to be working as expected. My dog is responsive to the beeping, vibrations, and shock. Today I had put it on our dog, a chocolate lab, and was out in the yard for about 4 hours. Not to much high activity. I found that i had to put the receiver back on the collar 3x. This is very frustrating to me as we do use our dog for hunting purposes and was hoping to use this system during those times. The collar and receiver have a poor designs. You have to take the receiver off the collar to charge it, which can leads to future potential defects because the prongs that hold the receiver to the collar can become broken doing this many times. The handle has a very poor design especially for training purposes. You have to hit the ' mode' button to switch between each function- shock, vibrate, beep, and light- and hit the 'Y' button to emit the function. This could become very frustrating to a new and/or experienced trainer. And could make the collar easily be Misused on the dog. For example, if you just 'beep' the dog to get the attention but now would like to correct for behavior. You have to hit 'mode' scroll threw functions then 'Y' to correct the dog.Now that you've lost 30 seconds figuring out the handle, your dogs already moved on to something else. Opportunity lost for the trainer. If you have a already trained dog and are looking just to do a maintenance collar this works just fine. I would not recommend it for beginners or a young pup looking to be trained.I am glad I only spent $40 on this system, if it were any more than that I would be severely disappointed.
MAJOR MALFUNCTIONS
September 22, 2015
Dis is a terrible device it has 100 different shock levels 1 being soft and 100 being the worst. whatever the number was that I use, 1 to 100, the dog screamed in agony and in pain so I decided to test the dog caller on myself, and then I realized even if the caller was on 1 or 100 it delivered same terrible horrible shock equivalent to being tased by a Taser, I'm a law enforcement officer and I can tell you that the shock that this collar delivers on a 100 is about equivalent to being tased by a police taser. not only is it not suitable for a dog I would consider this animal abuse, no dog even the most unruly dog does not need to have this amount of electricity delivered to it. in the caller is malfunctioning because it delivers the same amount of shock on 1 or 100. Not RECOMMENDED
I am totally disgusted.
September 22, 2015
the petrainer does not work even the replacement don't work . They will not charge up plug them up and the the light will go off in about one hour, and the the replacement s are same I followed instructions to the letter and some my friend even tried it nothing happen. So I am sending every thing that I received from you .I will keep the whistle. I want you to try them and you will see what I'm talking about. If you can't send me ones that works then I want a refund. I am totally disgusted.
My poor bully puppy
April 17, 2015
This collar also burnt my dogs skin. We have only used it a few times. Last night I took it off my bulldogs neck and realized that there was matted hair when the collar was. Once I started to look at his neck, I realized that there were burn spots wherever the probes were. We never even had to shock him. We used the vibration setting and the beeping setting. I was so upset when I found these marks. I have already requested a refund. it is a shame to put these puppies through this pain and not even know it is being done.
I didn't want to have to charge these everyday so I sent this item back for refund plus I didn't like the function in general
March 17, 2015
All three items were put on charge and these are suppose to charge for 6 hours + after two hours light went off, I didn't want to have to charge these everyday so I sent this item back for refund plus I didn't like the function in general. If you need to correct you have to press another button to get into that mode, too much switching back and forth for me!!!!!!!!

Terrible. I feel awful putting it on our dogs
September 10, 2016
I bought this 8 months ago, and paid $40 for it (I must have been insane/desperate). I rotated it between 2 of my 3 dogs to get their fence rushing barking at an elderly (minding his own business) neighbor. I wasn't sure if it was working I didn't test it, but I did put it on low as if used shock collars and beepers and sprays before with mixed results. Their barking calmed down and so I put the collar up. Last month we go new neighbors up the hill, who also have a big dog, and the back and forth barking has has been awful, so I got out the "bad dog collar" again. Well, this junk has twice now, once on each barker, shocked them (70+lbs) so badly they have been off for days, hiding under beds, etc. The first time I thought it was a fluke, it was on setting 3 or 4, not the highest. Anyway, came back here to read reviews to see what I did wrong, and see that it is a POS. I'll be throwing it out tonight. Terrible. I feel awful putting it on our dogs!
THis collar shocks a non barking dog
August 22, 2016
I bought 2 of these collars. One placed on a 4 year old female and one on a 1 year old male. On 2 separate occasions the collars shocked the dogs viciously for what seemed an eternity when they were NOT barking. The first time with the female I wasn't sure what happened because I wasn't in the same room as the dog. I just heard this really loud wailing and by the time I got to the dog was not sure what happened. The dog was actually in her crate when this took place. I took the collar off of her even though I wasn't sure that the collar was the problem. One day later the male dog was relaxing, quiet, not barking, not chewing a bone, just sitting on the floor when suddenly the same type of wailing occurred. He started to run away and began urinating and his fur was coming off. When I was finally able to grab him and take that collar off he had stopped yelping but shook for 30 minutes like I have never seen before. I have used a different brand bark collar before and NEVER had my dog cry over the shock. This should be taken off the market. It is the WORST possible scenario whereby a dog gets shocked when not doing anything wrong. I am going to alsoreport this to AMazon as I would like a refund.
Collar tried to kill my dog
August 11, 2016
Warning: This product short circuited and randomly started shocking my dog while laying on the floor of a quiet room. As my dog let out the most horrific cry I rushed to rip the collar off her. Even after I had taken it off, the collar continued to shock (I heard the faint noise it makes when shocking). I smelled burning electronics and burnt dog skin afterwards and returned this product.I can not give this product a worse review. What if I was not home to take it off her? A product like this should never fail. It should be taken off Amazon.
Absolute junk!
July 17, 2016
Very displeased with this product! I thought my dog was just stubborn and continued to bark with the collar on and fully charged when actually, after not even a full week of use, my furry family member got shocked from scratching his neck! He didn't even bark! I was hesitant to begin with because of the instructions being broken English (If they can't proofread they're instructions they aren't worth it). I'm really just upset someone would even think to sell a product like this! Some of us treat our pets as family and a slap on the wrists for barking turned out to be a painful "over correction" for scratching his neck.
This product should be illegal!
February 12, 2016
This product was used on a fluffy golden retriever/ huskey mix he is 70+ pounds we used it at a level 3 sensitivity (goes up to 6) and a level 4 voltage (goes up to 7) when he barked at the door bell and the collar let of a shock my dog started screaming bloody murder I have never heard such a awful sound.. It shocked him servel more time because he was screaming the callor sensed it as a bark it has an auto shut off after so many times thank god for that! As we were frantically trying to remove the collar my dog was peeing everywhere and lost control of his bowels and was crapping everywhere. Once we finally got that awful contraption off he ran to the corner and hide for a good hour. Because of loud awful sounds we had animal control called on us! Please tell me why this is something aloud to be sold? Feel like I tortured my dog..
No difference in intensities, too strong for large lab
January 6, 2016
I'm not sure if I received a defective package, but I did not have successful results with this product. I currently have a sporting shock collar for long hikes to take the dog on in case ventures off to far or anything else. She's a large lab (70lb) and on a scale of 1-8, with 8 the most intense, I have the shock at about a 3-4 and it hardly bugs her and I've even tested this on myself to make sure it would not hurt her. I ordered this product to keep her from barking as its automatic and the other one I have is a manual shock, I placed it on her at a 2, one step above Vibrate. I let her outside and she saw a neighbor and began to bark, followed by deathly pleas of help. I had to clue what was going on and removed the collar. I had never seen her in that much pain. I tried it on myself, like I should have done to begin with, and it's a horrendous shock thatleft a mark on my arm, I couldn't imagine let alone on my neck. I tried a few steps higher and it was all the same intensity of a shock. And no this was not the "sensitivity" knob this was the "intensity" knob. I won't use this on her again as it seems to only have ONE intensity for the entire scale of the collar. To be fair I would try a replaceable collar on myself again if it was in fact defective, however, the collar I have has been cut to her neck size so it's no longer returnable. I recommend trying this on yourself before your animal, as I should have.
