Great Brace!
September 8, 2017
This is a great brace. I had an arthroscopy 25 years ago and after 20 years re-injured my knee. I made my first purchase of this brace 5 years ago (Paid twice as much Retail) and it lasted till now working as a steel stud framer working 40-60 hrs a wk. I also recently had a bilateral arthroscopy in June/2017 and purchased 2 of these recently. They have been great. They have helped tremendously with my recovery. I am able to go to the gym now without any worries about re-injury. Everyone's body is shaped differently in different areas so there will always be likes and dislikes about a product like this. For me this brace is perfect, it's really comfortable.
Best thing I have ever done for my knee!!
March 19, 2017
I had dislocated my knee 2 days before I received this brace. I was in such pain I couldn't move. I was literally screaming in pain. My wife was ready to call the EMS. After about an hour, I finally got it to pop back into place. The first thing I did was get on Amazon and find this brace. Do not want to go through that pain again. I had my rotator cuff torn in 2 places in a motorcycle accident and the pain didn't compare to dislocating a knee. Please do as it suggests and actually measure your knee 2" below the kneecap. It has a sizing chart and it suggest getting 1 size larger. Personally, I didn't see the logic in this, but my wife convinced me to follow instructions and buy the XXL. I am so glad I did, it fits very snugly but not so much that it cuts off circulation. It keep the lateral movement of my knee almost to nothing. I do find I have to take it off at night when I sleep just to let it breathe. I would recommend this to anyone with any kind of knee problems. It gives it the support it needs and keeps you from being in agonizing pain. If I could give this a 10 star rating, I would.
If you found my review in any way helpful, please take a moment and hit the button to the right.
Thank You.
Great overall brace
February 16, 2017
I hyperextended my knee playing soccer. I had a different brace and it just wasn't cutting it. This brace has ten time the support then my other brace. The X system going across the back keeps the metal brackets from shifting away from the sides of the knee. It is comfortable and very supportive. I can wear it while I run, sprint, move side to side, ride a resistance bike at the gym, and it doesn't bother me. It does take a bit of an effort to get it off a sweaty leg, but that's all neoprene for you. Overall a well made brace that got me back playing the sport I love.

Gives me as good, if not better, than my prescription brace. Much more comfortable, too. Highest recommendation. Make sure to measure twice and get it maybe a size larger because, as other reviewers have said, it is a little snug. But that is what you want.
Temporary improvement for LCL injury
April 10, 2014
I purchased the Shock Doctor Ultra Knee Supporter in hopes that it would alleviate some of the pain I have felt with the LCL of my left knee and the pain associated with it and have thus far been impressed by the quality of the brace. The support it gives my knee during physical exercise and wearing throughout the day has brought much needed relief for my ailment and will hopefully continue to do so until I can have my medical personnel take a look at it.

For instance, prior to purchasing this product I would go for an extended run of about 4 to 6 miles and would almost immediately regret running that distance as the pain would be quite distracting throughout the day. Same with the average bike ride I would go on.

After receiving the product only a couple of days ago I almost immediately noticed an improvement each time I wear it in regards to the support and motion of my knee. I have yet to take it out with me on a longer run but plan to do so once I have built up to running that kind of distance with it.

Pros:
Extremely cheap compared to other braces out there
Natural feel even after hours of wear
High quality materials (for the most part)

Cons:
The finger holds are the only cheap feeling area of the brace but I don't use them or need to use them that much when putting the brace on
The bottom strap tends to ride my hamstring a little too much causing some soreness but I think after wearing it and breaking it in a little it should fit better.

I am thoroughly happy with the purchase and should get some good use out of this.

Excellent quality and service

My knees are so messed up these barely fit right but that is my problem. These are very well made and of high quality. I purchased some before and they were too small and tight, but that was again my issue with knowing my sizes. I was able to return them and was promptly refunded. Excellent quality and service.

This is an awesome brace. I have a condition where my joints slip out of place. I have worn ALOT braces now for over 25 years and I really like this one. It is much lighter than other ones I have worn. It breaths nicely and it doesn't hurt the back of my knee. I work out in it, do yoga in it, take karate in it, and take walks with it. Of course, it's a knee brace, so I'm not saying it doesn't add bulk, I am saying, it's a comfortable brace that is manageable and provides great support.

These things are amazing!I bought them some time in 2013 I've been using them for 1 to 2 two hour or more karate classes a week pretty consistently. It's now mid January 2017 and I'm scrolling back through my purchase history because I'd like to buy a new pair. After exceptional use, multiple washings etc. they're finally starting to get a little beat up.As a martial artist who's been at it for over 30 years as well as a big guy my knees are pretty beat. These things really do the trick, they keep the muscles warm and provide good snugs support.
Buy and brace yourself
January 7, 2017
This brace is really great. I tweaked my knee playing basketball and needed something in between an Ace bandage and Donjoy brace. This was exactly it. It's firm and gave my knee a lot of support. Be sure to measure your knee because I felt the one I got was a little tight (L). It worked well just be aware if you mismeasure or guess your size, it may not fit. It is adjustable and stretches so that will help. It also stays in place which tends to be a problem with knee braces. Overall, this is a great product I would buy again.
I like it, I really like it!
November 3, 2015
I might have gained just a bit of weight, just 50 or so lbs. My knees didn't like it. Sports were no longer fun. My particular problem is that the knee would bend the wrong way (backwards, hyperextend). This brace eliminated that problem. I do wish you could adjust the maximum angle it straightens out to, but it still works for me. It is comfortable too. As for size, I was just on the lower end of one size so I went to the smaller size. It was tight to begin with (tough to get on and off) but then loosened up a little (or I lost weight, lol) and is now perfect. Oh yeah, one more thing, I do use a knee sleeve along with this. Maybe that's why it's so comfortable?
Use the sizing chart!
May 3, 2015
This support works better than any other I have tried. It entirely kept my knee from moving side to side while exercising; I was able to weight lift for the first time in years without any knee pain.I was borderline between the Small and Medium measurements, so I decided to get the Medium after reading other reviews. I wish I would have gone with the smaller size; the brace stretched out quite a bit after the first few times I wore it. I'm not quite sure what other reviewers are talking about needing to go up multiple sizes, if you measure your leg like they advise that you do on the page you should not have any problems with sizing.

First minute review - good lateral stability
June 20, 2017
Up until one minute ago I was using a knee brace that you pull up and over your knee with a hole in the middle, made out of neoprene. During the last couple of days while doing simple things, like walking, I felt less than satisfied with the stability.

I read most of the reviews of other products and decided on this one.

I purchased the xxxl size because I was at the top end of the xxl circumference and multiple reviewers said to go up to the next size, and this was good feedback.

As I type this, the brace feels good holding my knee, not too tight, not too loose.
Great Value for the Price
June 16, 2017
This brace worked pretty well on my knee between tearing my meniscus and going in for surgery. It was pretty small (I got the XXL) at first and I didn't think it would get over my knee to wear. Once I had it on, it stretched out and I was able to take it off an on pretty easily. It seemed like it kept getting looser over the two weeks I was wearing it, though.

I personally think there are some improvements that could be made (open back so you don't have to slip it over your calf and knee, the straps could have more adjustment options- sometimes they pinched a little) but for $50 or so, you can't beat it. I guess I would have more room to complain if I paid $100 or $150. For the price, it did the job very well and I think I'll be wearing this in the future so I don't re-injure myself during physical activity.
Buyer Beware!!
April 10, 2017
You have to order a size up - also, if you order one and it doesn't fit, you cant return it.The brace does what it needs to. I tore my LCL and it definitely helps wearing it. As of now it gets 4 stars, but we will see how long that lasts.

Edit: 4 months in and it squeaks like crazy, so be prepared to use WD-40. It has been very casually used but seems to be starting to fall apart.
Knee-injury must!
May 27, 2014
I tore my MCL (Level 1) a few months ago and the doctors told me to get a hinged brace to support while my knee was healing. I bought a basic wrap around w/ simple hinges and it worked fine and I was back on my feet within a week. A few weeks ago I managed to re-injure the same knee, this time at a Level 2 almost 3. I was in severe pain and unable to walk for about 3 days except with the use of crutches. Fast-forward 4 weeks and I was still having a lot of pain and unable to move properly and noticed my basic brace was not helping support my knee. I did research online and came across this brace. After reading the reviews I decided to give it a try, though I was worried even the XXL may not fit (because reviews mentioned the brand runs small).

The first time I wore the brace it was pretty tight and I had to undo all the straps to get my leg in, and then had a hard time getting the straps wrapped back around in the criss-cross. I opted to just strap them straight across until they had been stretched and worn in. Immediately I noticed how stable the brace was compared to my old one. By the end of the day (I have to wear it all day for support) my knee felt great compared to the previous weeks. I do have to mention that my leg was pretty swollen (fluid retention) from the brace having that "new tightness" to it, but it wasn't cutting off circulation.

By Day 3 the brace had stretched out enough that it was easier to get on and I was actually able to correctly cross the straps as designed. I noticed a significant improvement in how sturdy my knee felt, and the swelling wasn't any more an issue than it was before the new brace.

I have been using this brace for a week now and honestly wish I had bought it sooner! The stability in my knee has improved greatly and the brace it fairly comfortable considering I have to wear it all day. The only issue I have is now that the weather is getting warmer I have a hard time getting it off at night because of the Neoprene "suction effect".

Overall a really great product, highly recommend!
Here is the size chart
May 8, 2013
The product works great, the biggest issue all of the reiews have is that it's missing a sizing chart. So here is the chart taken directly from the box:

Measure 2 inches below your knee cap
S = 12.25" - 13.25"
M = 13" - 14"
L = 13.75" - 14.75"
XL = 14.5" - 15.5"
XXL = 15.25" - 16.25"

The reason you measure the top of your calf is because that's the narrowest part of the brace and you want to make sure the brace will fit over and comfortably of your calf.

Read the reviews. Sized small but pretty good brace.
August 29, 2017
Pretty comfortable but definitely is sized small. I bought an XXL, which is a size up from my measurements and still fits snug. It does seem to help better than any other braces I have tried in the past. Overall pretty good.
Excellent quality for the price
June 13, 2017
Excellent quality for the price. I use it for jiu jitsu while my knee heals from a minor strain. I've used it about 15-20 times so far and it's held up very well, and it is not bulky or protrudes too much. The only thing I don't like is that the x-strap in the back kind of digs in to the skin behind my knee. I put athletic tape and it works but if it was a little looser, I would recommend a neoprene sleeve underneath the brace.
Worth the buy
April 17, 2017
Bought a similar Mueller brace which was more expensive than this and was really uncomfortable because of the hinges. This was way more comfortable. The hinges has a more thicker padding on them from the inside which is important when you are wearing this kind of brace with hinges. Compression is also good.Downside of this brace is that it takes an enormous amount of effort to put on and take off without wearing a compression sleeve under (NO JOKE)!But with compression you can slip in and out easily. And the fit is definitely small like most reviews would tell you, but that was not a problem for me since i'm a skinny guy.
right brace wrong size.but its great.
April 9, 2017
It is a liitle tight.i should have ordered the large.but it really works as advertised . I am feeling better already.my knee is doing well.i just wish i had checked my size first. I need a large not medium..
No pain, big gains.
September 18, 2015
Four stars because it fits a little tight. Other than that it did everything I had hoped for. I have a bad knee, acl or mcl, I don't know but it starts hurting going down hill on hikes. I have always avoided big hikes because of it. I did a ten mile, 4000' ascent and decent a few weeks back and had to wear a "cheap" $15 brace from the store for three days. I bought this brace and did Mt Bierstadt. No pain. None on the hike, none the next day. Awesome! Well worth the money.I am about 150 lbs with a 10 lb pack. My knee measures 12.5 inches two inches below the cap and I bought a medium. It's not tight enough to cut off circulation but I wanted it off fast after five hours.Would I buy it again? Yes, but I would try on a large at a sporting goods store before ordering another.
Shock Doctor 872
July 3, 2014
Received this product in 4 days on free shipping ($35 and up), happy with the fast shipment. I like the quality of the product - seems sturdy and well made. I measured my knee accordingly, 13.25" circumference (2" below the knee cap center) and so I ordered Medium (fits 13-14" as per chart) and the fit is right, perfect I could say so the SDr Chart I think is correct. It fits snugly as I expected for a knee support like the McDavid Deluxe Knee Support size SMALL (fits 12-14") that I also have. Their fit (the McDavid size Small and ShockDoctor size Medium) is almost the same. However, the metal hinged brace of this Shock Doctor Knee Support with Dual Hinges (Model 872) is placing too much pressure in my injured MCL. I wanted to have a better lateral support until my MCL injury fully heal so I could resume playing basketball and do my regular workouts ASAP. I tried this Shock Doctor 872 on, but as soon as I have placed it right, I could hardly bend my knee without feeling the pain of my MCL injury which is being pinched by the metal hinged brace. I really like this brace but unfortunately it simply does not fit my knee/leg anatomy. I can see this product to work very well to someone with fairly straight legs. The material quality seems to be good and well made. I wish the metal braces can be adjusted to one’s leg contours.Fortunately, the return process by amazon.com is amazing. Full refund on this returned order. Outstanding Customer service.

Good for around the house
March 15, 2017
I have been wearing it for a week now and it fits snug. I thought the straps at the top and bottom would hold the brace in place but it didn't. The brace kept slipping down and the only way to get it back up was to grab the two bottom metal stays and pull up. When pulled up that would roll the top material inward and cause discomfort. I still like the brace but it could use a couple of pull up loops on the top.
Good knee braces but be wary of sizing
September 30, 2016
The knee supports look well constructed and durable. My son and I watched the measurement video and selected the appropriate size per the video. Unfortunately the knee braces were so tight they limited range of motion and actually diminished circulation. We had to return them simply because they were too tight. We did opt for a larger size but were frustrated with the additional effort in packaging/returning the wrong sized initial knee braces.
Nothing to write home about
September 10, 2016
Well I will find out more this ski season. So far the material is not as comfy as the Don joy bionic

BTW For those complaining about smell- well this is to be worn on the leg and not rubbed on you face or nose so please stop over thinking it's application.
Great Support but to tight
November 19, 2015
Seems great but so tight it hurt. My knee measured 12.75 which is clearly within the size of a medium according the size chart. I tried it on after taking several minutes just to get it high enough on my leg. It felt very supportive and I thought I found my answer. But after a few minutes of wear I couldn't take it anymore. Although very support and helping to relieve my knee pain it was causing its own pain. It was so tight the hidges were digging into the sides and the elastic around my thigh was cutting of my circulation. I think it the brace was just a slight bit larger it would be a great choice. It seemed very well made.
The thumb hooks to pull it up are all fraying out and much too small to be useful. The plastic links are narrower than the strap
August 18, 2014
I bought this brace because the hinges looked smaller and easier to walk with than the Mcdavid brace. That is true, but the brace is rather poorly made and will not stay in place. It continually turns sideways so that the knee opening is out of place. The thumb hooks to pull it up are all fraying out and much too small to be useful. The plastic links are narrower than the straps that go through them. I'm disappointed with the purchase.

Decent but not something amazing.
September 27, 2017
All of the postings about the sizing chart are true. I have small legs and I had to order a large and it still seems a little tight. I tore my ACL about 2 years ago and had it rebuilt. Just recently had a grade 2 tear to my MCL along with a knee cap dislocation while playing rugby. I ordered this brace so that I could return to my sport and not hurt my knee. The brace does its job by keeping my knee sturdy however its a little tight and makes running difficult/awkward. I am hopeful that it just needs to be broken in. My one big complaint about this brace is that the medal digs into my upper thigh on the outside of my leg. I added a little bit of padding to that side and it is helping. Overall, the brace is decent/average for the amount of money that I paid.
... on and I even measured but it was still super tight, especially around the patella ring
September 26, 2017
Well made but hard to get on and I even measured but it was still super tight, especially around the patella ring. I suggest ordering a size up.
Provides great support...be careful with the sizing
October 11, 2016
This product is hard to get on and off. The sizing is really confusing. You measure your leg and order based on measurements. It isn't very clear that when you order, you need to get a size 1/2 to 1 more larger than you need. It does do a great job or providing support especially to compensate for a totally disconnected ACL. It is a bulky product
Order one size up
May 31, 2016
Gives support, but even with measurement guides it runs small. I'm female, 5'5" and wear a size 8 pants. I can barely get the x-large on. I do have larger calves, but in no way am an x-large person, let alone xx-large. Poor sizing. On the support side of things. This allowed me to hike the Inca trail in Peru and then descend the Priest in Virginia without too much difficulty. Great support. As soon as I put it on I could feel how much support it provided.
order 2 sizes up
October 19, 2015
Will amend my star rating after we received the next brace. We followed the sizing chart to the letter and ordered a small for my son. When the brace came in, it was so small that he can't even pull it up over his knee cap. Would recommend going TWO sizes up. The brace appears to be made of sturdy construction and will appear to do it's job, but was incredibly disappointed in how far off base the measuring chart appears to be.
Order One Size Up!
August 25, 2014
I like this knee support but like many of those on here, was duped by the manufacturer's sizing chart. My measurements were on the cusp of two sizes. I read a lot of people saying to try the correct size and it will stretch. I went with small. However, even though I can barely get it on my knee, it caused severe pain on the outside by my IT band. On top of this, the pull tabs at the top for pulling it up securely ripped right out with the first pull. I didn't even pull that hard. Other than the over tightness, I can see how it will be comfortable if fitted correctly, so I'm ordering a medium next to see how that works. Once I get my replacement I'll let you all know how it works and update my review.

Runs small
June 3, 2017
These look nice... It's a bit too small so we need to exchange for a larger size. Apparently Amazon won't allow a return .... I will update once all is said & done with the seller... UPDATE: seller was unprofessional & unhelpful. Amazon customer service is Amazing.
Very painful, unable to wear for more than a couple hours
April 12, 2017
Knee supporter could have been better in a larger size. It was very difficult to pull on but felt comfortable enough at first. After wearing it for a couple hours the pain was unbearable. The elastic bands around top and bottom were constricting my legs and the metal hinge dug into side of knee. A larger size might have helped but it's a hassle I don't want to deal with.
For the Skinny and non-muscular of Leg...
August 16, 2016
Item is about 70% there. Does all the right stuff, but your leg will have to fit to it...not really the other way around.

I have a pretty muscular calf, so squeezing into this sleeve was not easy. Add in that I'm using it to manage an injury and you'll understand how it was painful...very. The side supports, also do to my calves not being skinny, dug into my leg on both sides all day long. It took a week for that soreness to go away.

Minimal slippage, good looking construction, but not the right product for me (I went through 2 others before this one).
bulky, be careful with sizing
April 29, 2015
I ended up returning this. First, despite accurately measuring according to the sizing guide, the one I ordered was too small - I could barely get the brace over my calf and then up to my knee. I measured at the high end of the "small" range, but probably should have ordered a medium. Second, the hinges on the sides stick out quite a bit, so the brace was bulky - too bulky to wear under my ski pants. I have had other braces with hinges on the sides and this was the bulkiest I have ever tried.
Wasn't quite what I was looking for, not really good for people with big legs
April 30, 2014
I do have big bones in my legs... and this isn't for the few that do have legs built like that. They're muscular but big. Anyway,

I had a partial meniscectomy and was looking for a little more lateral and medial stability, without restricting too much movement. I mainly wanted to use the brace only when I workout - did Focus T25 or P90X3, but it restricted my movement and slowed it down too much. Maybe that's what they are supposed to do, but it was bulky and got in the way, so I just decided to stick to a soft brace with soft hinges.

Clumsy and easily snagged
April 29, 2017
This was not a good item for me. Clumsy fit and the hinges, which are not enclosed, can stick out and catch on things. Went straight back.
Runs very small!
October 5, 2016
This would be a great knee brace if the sizing was correct. I ordered a 2XL for my mother but she couldn't put it on. I am in the posted size range, could barely manage to pull it on and it was way too tight to be comfortable. It cut off a significant amount of circulation, and was very uncomfortable to move in. It also kept working its way down my leg about an inch and wouldn't stay in place to stabilize the patella. My brother is much slimmer than me, and it fits him fine, otherwise I'd return it. The sizing chart needs to be reassessed.
Not great in comfort for Jiu jitsu or Wrestling, It Pinches cuts scrapes back of knee, Fits, A little tight but doable
March 17, 2016
I have purchased plenty of shock doctor stuff in the past and they have great designs but are always known for not being that comfortable and getting too hot. I think they over engineer a lot of their items when they could be a little more simple. I generally would say support wise it isn't too bad and it does its job for light duty, but the plastic braces aren't strong enough laterally to stop force bending of the knee. Works decent in hyper extensions but not the strongest. I would say this type of brace is good for running or light movements but not for jiu-jitsu or wrestling grappling type sports. It looks nice goes on decently tight and stays on but is very uncomfortable and very tight. I measured my leg exactly as they suggested. Yes, it fits and yes I understand it is supposed to be a little tight but not cutting off circulation tight and basically takes 2 men to take it off your knee after you are sweaty. It is Functional but uncomfortable as it left a skin rash and blister in the back of my knee after the very first use. So I would use spats while using it. I hope it breaks in more and gets comfortable but I have my doubts. Overall for $30-40 bucks I paid its worth a shot, but I would personally for a simpler design or a metal brace one if you plan on having your knee go millions of different ways in sports that are tough on your knees.
No, no, no
July 25, 2014
As everyone says, the sizing is all wrong. My knee, per Shock Doctor's measuring chart (i.e., 2" below the center of the patella) is 12.75" around, which is a Small according to the chart. BUT because everyone was saying in reviews to go up a size, I bought a Medium. Guess what? There was no way to get it on! I was actually HURTING MY KNEE attempting to get the thing on. I ALREADY have a knee problem, which is why I wanted the brace. I understand, again per the information on the description, that it should fit very tight and may take a few days to "break in". That's all well and good, but further injuring myself is just not an option. The only thing I might suggest, is that my calf is muscular and at its widest is about 13.25". But nowhere on the description is there any suggestion that a muscled calf might impede getting the brace on (look, I was just stretching here anyway, trying to find any explanation for such gross size discrepancies). People who are already hurt, don't need the "cure" to make things worse. I really can't comment in good conscience about any other aspect of the brace in light of the size issues.
Product Smaller Than Sizing Chart Suggests
November 18, 2013
This product must run small. I measured my knee and followed the product sizing guide to buy the XXL. My knee circumference is 15.5". I play basketball twice a week but do no other weight lifting activities so would assume I have average to above average sized calves and thighs. The XXL is supposed to go up to knee circumferences of over 16", but this brace was cutting off circulation in my legs and I could barely get it on, even to try it on.I think the brace is a solid brace, it feels very sturdy and helpful, but just assume it runs one to two sizes too small. Unfortunately for me, they do not make this brace any larger. If you're overweight or work out a lot, or have a larger knee circumference, it may be best to look at other options.
Not true to sizing dimensions compared to other brands. Be careful.
November 8, 2013
Not true to size. I'm 6' 4" 245lbs with big lean calves. I have knee braces from two other major brands- both XL and fit well on me. Shock Doctor's XXL dimensions are about the same as the other brands' XL size but this is still far smaller. Beware the sizing. Double and triple check the dimensions before you buy. Consider getting two sizes up. I don't think they sell an XXXL. Needless to say no NFL player will ever be able to wear one of their products. I will say if you're a very thin person that the product is well made and of high quality and maybe go for it under those circumstances only.

and regretfully i see how bad the quality of it is
September 11, 2017
Knee Brace is a sleeve that you pull up to our knee.

Here are the issues i have found with this product:

1. I have had this product for about 1 month or so, and regretfully i see how bad the quality of it is. The top of the brace has little hooks you can use to pull the brace up, and after 1 month 1 side of the hook has already started tearing.
2. There are no instructions on how to clean the sleeve, since summer, sweat has accumulated and it is currently smelling a bit
3. My Knee has been irritated from the product - I have tried using Johnson&Johnson Powder & lotion to help heal it, but seems like it will take a while to heal

I loved it initially, but too many set backs for me to fully say it is a good product
The brace is very comfortable, if it for my leg
August 13, 2017
The brace is very comfortable, if it for my leg! I started with the XL, to small, XXL, again to small, now XXL, and still to small. I used the measurements that are provided in the description but they are not accurate, not for me anyway. I am not that big a person. 5' 10" and 250 lbs. I dont get it. Amazon has been great with letting me return or get credit. Thank goodness!
Wanted to love it

I collect knee braces (or at least it seems I do). I had high hopes that this would be my go to. Sadly, this one was WAY too small. I bought a size up, but have large calves as I am pretty fit. The metal bit into my calves, PAINFUL! Based on reviews, I was hoping it would stretch, no such luck. Skip the sleeves, wrap around braces are much more versatile and comfortable.

After several tries with size, the last brace came deformed and was still "tight" and difficult to get in. In the end we sent it back and picked another brand. It looked really well made, just wish it had fit.
Didn't fit!

Returned for refund. Measured my leg, ordered xxl which was marginal for the measurement. It called for xl. The xxl was almost impossible to put on. I also thought it would be too immobilizing.

I returned this on the same day I received it. Product looked good, and I was sure I got the correct size (XL) based on the how to video, but it was still tight and after only 5 hours of wearing it, I noticed some water blister occurring above the outer side of my knee and near my calf from where it was too tight! It also formed a bruise from the metal bracket, and only after a week had it subside, but left scar from the blister.Maybe I should have ordered the next size up, or even the next largest size? However, I don't think I'll be buying this again. I think I'll stick with the Knee Brace Support with Velcro which I've also Purchased from Amazon before this one, and it's been Great.
What's the best thing about amazon
June 1, 2017
Run way too small. This is the first item I have ever ordered from amazon that the return window closed before I could return it. This was for my dad so it was 3 weeks before I ever got it from him. Too strict. I wont be recommending this brace for my older patients anymore. What's the best thing about amazon? Prime delivery, easy returns, and they have darn near everything. This product did not meet the amazon standard.

I'm super skinny but this was so little I couldn't get my foot through it
Bad Material - rash inducing
July 4, 2014
This brace gave my husband a terrible rash every time he wore it- there is just something in the material. We washed it, made no difference. He does *not* have any kind of sensitive skin either- so this was a crazy reaction for him to get. Brace actually felt great while wearing it (for only 1 day), but the rash took almost two weeks to go away after he took it off.
Runs way too small!

I could not locate anywhere what the inch amounts were for any of the sizes, so I took a leap of faith based off the majority of the other name brand braces out there and boy am I disappointed. The XXL ended up being only between 15.25-16.25 inches. Those numbers in other name brands are for medium. I have no idea why they would ever make a brace so small and put XXL as the size. I could not even get this thing over my calf muscle which is pretty average. I will say that this thing is well made and looks like it would be very useful if I was actually able to use it.

This product is not a substitute for medical care. Always seek professional medical advice for the diagnosis and treatment of pain, injury, or irritation. Do not over tighen Velcro straps, just enough to prevent slippage.

A tight fit is best for best support. It will take a few days to "break in" the brace, to allow fabric to stretch enough to conform to your knee area. May feel scratchy at first and be difficult to remove after a few hours of wearing.
