Five Star Reviews: | 69% PERFECT CHOICE August 31, 2017 Perfect choice for me, especially the price, for my short-time recovery use from total hip replacement surgery. My PT was pleased with my choice, as well (wheels on front only). It truly is lightweight, has lots of height adjustment; and the easy, secure, folding feature, was very much appreciated to get me to and from appointments. So surprised to see that the hospital is using this exact same walker. Had to add an ID tag to mine. Added on an Amazon "Health Mart Walker Basket" w/tray and cup holder, to help transfer items around the house. I mounted it on the INSIDE of the above mentioned Walker. Nice and secure with the included Velcro straps. Perfect size. April 19, 2017 Ordered this for my mother. It came quickly and was easy to assemble. I added the tennis ball yellow walker coasters. She is a tiny woman and this adjusted to fit her very well. It would adjust to fit a must taller person as well. Trim walker March 11, 2017 Trim walker. My therapist turned the wheels to be in the inside and it narrowed the walker's profile. Easy to use and fold up. Good product at a great price August 1, 2015 Spouse sprained her lower back. searched the local stores ..then Amazon..located it..received..adjusted it and she used it to get around for a couple of days, without much discomfort..it is now stored in the event it is need in the future. almost 35 dollars cheaper than the ones sold (drugstores & the big Wm..study material but light..Good product at a great price..thank you Second walker June 24, 2013 I have had one walker identical to this purchased through Amazon for over five years. It is like new! I have fitted it with a tray and a reacher from Amazon that work great. The problem is demounting everything to use it from the car.The answer for me is to buy a second one identical to the first. I use my cane to walk down specially built steps holding on to one rail and carrying my Saddlebag (Zippidy Walker Organizer from Amazon) and off to whereever (driven most of the time I'm afraid). It folds up easily by me loading it in and out of the car while holding on to the car with one hand. The old saying one hand for you and one for the ship applies here. It is very light and snaps open and shut easily. It can be done easily by others if you don't get the hang of it.The added covenience for both me and my family as well as the reduced imposition when I'd like to tag along made the second purchase well worth while.. Zinging Right Along December 5, 2010 Lightweight, highly recommended, sturdy, adjustable. I changed the rear leg tips to sliders asthe rubber tips that come with the walker doesn't glide very well over most surfaces and particularlydifficult over carpeted floors. I'm considered changing the front wheels from 5" wheels to 8" wheels.Believe the 8" will roll over small cracks and door jams much better than the 5". | 60% Lightweight, Sturdy, and Compact August 14, 2017 We bought this for my wife, and chosen due to the excellent quality of my Hugo rollator. This one folds up much more compactly than the usual front-back folding rollators, like I have, so it'll fit well into smaller vehicles. The light weight makes it easy to handle, yet it's still very sturdy.I have rarely found such design and build quality, so I can recommend this more highly than any other brand I've had a chance to look at in person. Good light weight walker. July 8, 2017 Bought this for my Dad, 95 years old. He loves the seat, and how it folds into the car with little effort, and has storage for water or items needed for trips to Dr. etc. Have had this since October of 2016, worked great until 4th of July parade 2017. One of the smaller wheels popped off while Dad was sitting on it watching parade. Fortunately an Engineer was standing next to Dad and fixed the wheel. Now I worry something else may pop off. Looking for another more sturdy walker. Was good for almost 1 year. It has allowed him great mobility after a hip fracture and poor vision August 22, 2016 I just bought the second Hugo Sidekick for my 87 year old dad. He called me panicked this morning after he ran over it with his truck. He is devastated as he loves this thing! It has allowed him great mobility after a hip fracture and poor vision. He uses it mainly in the yard over uneven ground, as that tends to be where he falls. He can go pretty fast with it. I thought about buying something different for his second rollator, but I didn't see much in the way of advantages until you get to the $500-$600 range, which is more than I want to spend (he may just run over it again). So I'm buying the same product--maybe I should just buy it in a different color this time! The build quality is very good with real ball bearings at all the wheels and ... October 20, 2015 This style of a side folding has many advantages compared to the more traditional units that fold from to back. One is that you can fold it and park it next to a table without it falling over. The build quality is very good with real ball bearings at all the wheels and pivots. Finally the larger front wheel diameter makes it easier to roll over thresholds and uneven pavement. Oh, almost forgot. Assembly was a snap with excellent illustrated instructions. pieces marked for easy assembly, 20 minutes to put together December 5, 2014 This walker is everything the manufacturer claims. High quality material, well packaged for shipping, pieces marked for easy assembly, 20 minutes to put together. It is very easy to fold for storage in the car trunk or other places such as a restaurant. Openimg the folded walker back up is basically a one step simple operation. The walker handles easily, and the mesh bag in front holds your stuff without falling out. The weight is a little more than some other walkers we used, but this makes it sturdy and keeps the components aligned properly for the fold/unfold movement. We thought the small rear wheels might be an issue, but they have proven not to be an issue at all.We have also had several positive compliments about the tangerine color. We are well satisfied with the unit and the price seems in line for the higher level of quality. Great Walker June 16, 2014 I chose this walker because the storage area folds when the walker is folded. Other walkers have a hard metal basket that has to be removed to fold the walker. Also the back rest is comfortable to lean back when sitting. It is light weight so I can drive and then take it out of the back seat without assistance. One thing to consider is that if a person wants to turn the walker around and sit on it at the table to eat, the handle bars are too high. This is not a problem for me.I highly recommend this walker to baby boomers who have difficulty walking. |
Four Star Reviews: | 15% For indoor use May 4, 2017 Works fine . Would have given 5 star if it came with tennis balls on two of the legs Product Description Calls For 2 Wheels But Seller Make It Right November 24, 2016 Product seems well built. The folding mechanism works smoothly. Unfortunately the walker was delivered with rubber caps on all 4 legs. Both the picture and the description call for wheels on the front legs.I purchased white plastic skis for the rear legs from a different seller.Update: The seller shipped wheels to my address at no cost. I changed my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. Like this walker July 2, 2016 This walker is really lightweight and a lot narrower than others I looked at, so works well in my small house. Folds easily for transporting and storing. Excellent Price April 22, 2014 I priced this particular item at healthcare stores in my area. The best price I could find was around $150+. I really appreciated the low price of roughly $35. I felt pretty good at first, but I am a man weighing about 215 lbs and I sometimes put all my weight on the walker to move. I tends to break if I do that on uneven ground. When I say break, I mean it begins to wobble and one brace broke. That is the only thing I dont like about the walker, but all being said, it is the best deal I have come across. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget. Just will have to be careful about putting all your weight on it if you are on uneven surfaces. Very pleased! December 24, 2013 I was worried on how sturdy this walker would be and I'm very pleased and happy with the construction of the walker. I looked at other walkers and looking at their designs and this one seemed to have a better design. Yes, very pleased and works well. Good walker for the price May 25, 2011 Got this for my dad who needs a lot of support while walking. I did some research and found out that those rolling walkers with four wheels aren't ideal for someone who needs consistent, very sturdy walking support. I opted for the standard walker since he has the upper body strength but not lower body strength. This walker gives him just what he needs to get around his room and to/from the bathroom. Legs are adjustable, so you can customize it to your or your loved one's height. With its 2-wheels/2-non-wheeled feet, it works best on carpet. It is noticeably less smooth for use outdoors on uneven surfaces like asphalt. The walker is very lightweight and folds up very easily to fit either in the backseat or trunk of my compact car. There was some urgency to get this item right away for my dad, so I paid for one-day shipping, which ended up being almost as much as the walker itself. However, I got the package early the next morning as promised. It came well-packaged. The box was rather large but it was light because the contents are light. So far, so good with this walker. My dad's only been using it for about a 1 1/2 months and mainly indoors, so we'll see how it holds up over time. The rear slider caps are showing some wear but that's to be expected. Walker comes with 2 extra rubber slider caps. The only downside so far is that my dad had some difficulty navigating through the narrow doorways of his townhouse using this walker. Maybe we'll try out moving the front wheels to the inside like another reviewer suggested. | 14% Nice compact Rollator January 10, 2017 Mom loves her new Rollator, especially the compact folding and ability for it to stand and roll in the folded position. We really like the ease of folding just by lifting the handle in the seat. So quick. It seems lighter than other rollators of the same weight. Easily fits in the back of my small SUV. I wish it had the flip through back to make it a transporter chair, but mom doesn't mind riding backwards if necessary. There were 2 areas that were difficult to assemble. The back does not attach easily (holes are too small) and the clips for the cables on the bottom required someone much stronger than me. Four Stars August 5, 2016 my wife loves it as a helpful mobility-tool. it is making her life much more enjoyable. The rollator is great goes off curbs very nicely without tipping June 21, 2015 The rollator is great goes off curbs very nicely without tipping. It is heavier than I thought it would be probably weighs 15 pounds or so but it folds up nicely so I can put up with the extra weight. One side fit fine, the other one I couldn't get on February 14, 2015 It is heavier than I anticipated. I also had trouble putting the back part on. One side fit fine, the other one I couldn't get on . Assembly was reasonably straightforward. Construction not as strong as ... January 20, 2015 Assembly was reasonably straightforward. Construction not as strong as others, but certainly adequate for my mother's use. This walker was purchased for portability. Even though it is a full size walker, it folds to a reasonably small size for stowing in trunk or back seat when traveling. Unfortunately defective on front left wheel January 15, 2014 It was everything I had wanted but I was so disappointed to find the front left wheel was offset.... I really needed this item for a an older guest who was visiting from out-of-country so I was unable to exchange it. I have been very worried that this defect might cause a failure and he might fall. |
Three Star Reviews: | 6% Three Stars November 14, 2016 It's a sturdy walker but I can't shorten it enough to be really comfortable for my 4ft 10in. height! Fairly easy to put together but when my mother uses it August 28, 2016 Fairly easy to put together but when my mother uses it, it pulls to one side or the other and we are having a little trouble with the wheels turning, they seem to be stuck and scratch our hardwood floors. Okay for Short-Term Use July 9, 2016 The walker is lightweight and easy to use but wheels and glider attachments seem flimsy | 11% Several of the screes assemlbed in the facory feel off ... September 5, 2017 Several of the screes assemlbed in the facory feel off and had to be refiyed by my husband i orcer for it to fasten It rolls well and folds well. But if you ... August 4, 2016 It rolls well and folds well. But if you are a typical senior with weak legs this rollator is not for sitting. You will never be able to rise from the sagging seat. Back rest installation problem June 14, 2016 The back rest cannot be installed until you cut away the cover material around the metal hole at each end. Need better quality control. It is what it is... March 13, 2016 Paid for the color for my son after his spine surgery, but you can get better or same for cheaper, also the height says for up to a 6' person, not possible, it doesn't adjust to that height.Must say it was the easiest thing I've ever put together! Also the color is a dark burnt orange, not what expected, but it works. Love The Side Kick But The Front Wheels Wobble When ... November 28, 2015 Love The Side Kick But The Front Wheels Wobble When Using It On The Sidewalk. It Is Fine in The House But Traveling At A Faster Gait Is Where The Wobble Starts. Any Suggestions For Solving This Problem? Pre assembly was incorrect! March 28, 2014 The frame of the rollator was not screwed together correctly. When unfolded, the right handle bar pipe was almost horizontal to the floor.I received the second one, and it turns out that it was just like the first one. Since it seemed unlikely that I received two defective items, I called customer service. After they saw a picture of my frame, they did not know what to make of that and are suppossed to call me back after their product manager takes a look at it.Anyways, my husband took the frame apart and put it together correctly. The items is nice, seems to be of good quality etc, but make sure you have a handy person at your disposition. As far as I can tell, five star product with a zero star problem. |
Two Star Reviews: | 3% A little disappointed November 19, 2016 I got this for use after a knee replacement. I am 6ft 3in. The legs and frame feel a little wobbly when extended to the length I need for a correct height. I would look for one with a heavier frame or one built for taller people. It's light and it's pretty. I can manage it by myself and it ... October 14, 2016 It's light and it's pretty. I can manage it by myself and it folds up easily . It fits in the pew at church. It doesn't block the aisle in a restaurant. I wouldn't choose it for a walk around the block--it's for social things my wife isn't to happy with it July 30, 2016 my wife isn't to happy with it.... it pulls to the left to much when she uses it... should have got the more expensive one.....ya get what you pay for ,,,can't complain to much ,,,it does the job Do not recommend. July 14, 2016 Assembled incorrectly. Wheels put on rear legs. Very dangerous that way. Size adjustment given is incorrect. It is definitely not for someone 5'3". Wheels do not turn! June 21, 2016 If this is a deluxe model, I would hate to have purchased the standard. What a dog, the wheels don't turn, so why have wheels. This is a junker! I have not had this walker a year, but ... May 18, 2016 I have not had this walker a year, but the mechanism for collapsing the walker is very flimsy and already it is close to breaking off which means that the walker will have to be replaced. This item is subject to replacement every 5 years by Medicare, so this means they will not cover the cost of replacement. | 5% Bad Brakes July 9, 2015 The brakes are lousy on these. I must constantly tighten them in order for my aunt to be safe when using it. Also, the screw-cap that attaches the back support stripped just before the warranty expired, so at least, I was able to receive a no cost replacement. Although, it took multiple phone calls and emails. excellent but heavy July 1, 2015 I have had this for a few weeks. I got it after passing out during walks due to chronic fatique issues. What most appealed to me was that it has a seat, unlike regular walkers. So I can sit down and rest anytime and as soon as I start feeling tired. Unfortunately, my apartment complex does not have elevators, which presents a problem. I can fold it then body it into a car, but carrying it up or down stairs is next to impossible for me due to atrophied arm muscles. I have been looking for some sort of shoulder strap which would allow me to navigate stairs with it on my back just as I have no problem carrying a backpack full of groceries strapped to my back. This is NOT a wheelchair! I suspect the reviews claiming it only lasts a month are from people who think, because it has a seat, they can use it as a wheelchair. If you do, yeah, it will last about a month.EDIT: 8/26/15Sad to say, after two months, this fell apart. I did not use it as a wheelchair, usually just walking in the breezeway in front of apt for exercise. The problem appears to be due to screws slowly coming loose. In my case, one fell off and I did not realize it until irreparable damage had been done while sitting in it. Fortunately, I have a backup, an Invacare model with fewer parts. That seems to be key. More expensive rollerators like this Hugo have multiple parts, requiring assembly, meaning multiple parts which will eventually come loose. My folding Invacare is lighter, came assembled, has a seat, but no basket. Two Stars January 19, 2015 THE BACK DOES NOT STAY HOOKED TO THE FRAME. I THINK THAT THE FRONT WHEELS ARE TOO BIG |
One Star Reviews: | 7% Not Satisfied! December 20, 2016 All though the item arrived on-time it was missing the wheel extensions and the leg extensions in the box. This item was unusable for my mom. No wheels arrived November 5, 2016 My order did not come with wheels or the ability to adjust. Had to return it. The walker was a huge disappointment. I need to send it back August 16, 2016 The walker was a huge disappointment. I need to send it back. The leg extensions and "sliders" did not stay in place and when the walker was lifted slightly off the ground they would just fall out. I don't know if there were parts missing as the minimal instruction sheet gave little info about parts or assembly. I would not recommend this walker from Duro-Med. It broke the second day, cheaply built, and ... March 24, 2016 It broke the second day, cheaply built, and the folding operation broke the second and had to (and was lucky someone whould take it in trade and give me $15.00 allowance. | 10% Very poor assembly. October 9, 2016 The walker had several assembly errors. The handlebars were on the wrong sides; the wheels were on the wrong sides and upsidedown. I had to hire someone to take it apart and redo the wires, and correct the other errors. I'd like some compensation for my trouble. 4 legs and all left ones. Do not recommend.sorry I bought it. September 28, 2016 I do not know why all the rave reviews - I am deeply disappointed with this device - the seat is flimzy, I hardly ever chance to sit in it; The legs and wheels are all over the place I keep hitting them and tripping over them all the time. I thought I might get used to this construction, but I did not and the window to return or exchange it is too short - just one month! My fault, should not have given this piece of ... a chance. in the future will not even wait a month: something is not perfect -- good bye - off you go, no chances to anybody or anything. Should have NOT listen to the reviews and doubt myself - may be it's not the walker, may be I am clumsy?? No, I am ok, the walker is poorly designed.I am even afraid to take it out to un-paved area. DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY ! Check out the web - I noticed an European model (did not write down the name) but looks much more natural posture wise and leg positions. My spouse felt from the walker on to the sidewalk ... July 19, 2016 My spouse felt from the walker on to the sidewalk He scrape the arm, elbow and ankles. The two front wheels (the ones under the basket) felt apart. They cave in/out losing all bearing balls. One of the wheels just rolled on to the street. This happened as were taking a walk, I was so scared and UPSET. Will never buy any Hugo products again .Hugo Mobility Sidekick Side-Folding Rollator Walker with Seat, Tangerinefrom Hugo Mobility too big and heavy, the back was difficult not ... February 27, 2015 too big and heavy , the back was difficult not successful in attaching it . I live in small quarters just too big and awkward the wheels way too large for my place . One Star November 12, 2014 Tubing bends and breaks easily. I'm not a big guy...5'10 and 170lbs. Lasted 1 month. Bad design Do not get this if you have Trouble getting up ... August 12, 2014 Do not get this if you have Trouble getting up. It's shorter than a normal one. It has no way to adjust it to make it any taller. The person I got for can't use it because he can't get up |
