Super glued my Super glue November 28, 2015 I left this glue on my table overnight, loosely capped, and found the glue glued to my table... permanently. It has now been a year since it got stuck and it is officially part of the table. Great decoration. My colleagues and I have tried many means to get rid of the glue, mainly just prying at it (ouch, our fingers), poking at it with chopsticks (our chopsticks are dulled), cutting at it with knifes (I think the knife is bent), lathering on nail polish remover (my table is flooding), sawing at it with string (the string broke in half), and getting the glue stuck on our fingers, which took quite some to get off. We managed to twist the bottom part off (Which was still wet and workable even after a year, really great quality guys. Good job. It spilled right away and we were wiping away at it like our life depended on it). When we try to pry it off with our fingers or string, it lifts the table up as well. The force of this glue is greater than the weight of out table..... wow. As glue, it's served its purpose wonderfully. As a decoration, it has also done it's purpose. It was so much easier to use than regular super glue- the key is the bottle, which allows for very even and controlled glue application, things my old superglue (I’m looking at you Krazy) was terrible at. Plus it keeps well: My first bottle of Loctite had been sitting in the basement for at least a year, and when I opened it up it was as good as new. Like virtually everyone else who purchases a smart cover, I found it falling apart. Not wanting to constantly replace it, I searched for a glue that would effect repairs yet remain flexible. Loctite Ultra Gel Control Super Glue seemed to be the answer. After using it and having seen the lasting effects of the repair, I can only say I am completely satisfied. Some smart cover areas have unnoticeable repairs, while other repairs are slightly noticeable. After success with that, I've successfully repaired wood, ceramic, plastic articles, and glued vinyl floor tile to wood on a crawl space access lid. Make certain you have clean surfaces and follow the instructions. I've used other "super glues," but this one for me is the best. Works well for the right price! September 17, 2017 I bought this to glue a clay footprint into a shadowbox. It worked really well. Since then we've used it for other projects (wood, plastic) and it has not failed. October 21, 2015 the glue is as good as any other cyanoacrylate "super-glue", but what makes this item 5 stars is the terrific bottle dispenser. It works perfectly, does not get clogged and has kept the glue inside liquid and usable for many months already. Before purchasing this item I had started buying only the smallest "micro" sized tubes of super-glue because they would always leak, clog up, caps would get stuck or otherwise become unusable after a couple of uses. The cap on this little guy twists on and off and the glue flows freely when needed. I will ad the caveat that it has always been stored upright on a shelf and not simply thrown in a drawer or toolbox. In fact, I would probably not want to store this item in that way ever. I'm not saying it definitely would leak, just that I am not willing to find out...lol. I might get around to testing that out or maybe someone else here will. I am certain that I have never had a bottle or tube of super glue remain usable as long as this opne has already and I fully anticipate using every last drop in the bottle which is something I don't think I have ever been able to do before. The best stuff December 2, 2013 This is the best superglue. The little plastic latch on the lid of my coffee thermos broke and I seriously thought I had to buy a new thermos when I thought I'd give this superglue a try first. I just happen to purchase this a couple of weeks prior in order to do a refridgerator project. I put a little glue on the plastic piece of the lid on a Nissan thermos (using a tweezer because it was too small to handle with my hands) and left it overnight. The next morning, I dabbed a bit more for good measure and waited for a few hours. I was shocked to realize it worked. Two weeks later, the lid is working like new. I open and close the lid at least two dozen times a day whenever I take a sip of my coffee so it shows you how good this stuff is. So glad I found this superglue. Works very well. November 23, 2013 The super glue works very well, and has saved me a lot of money by repairing my suitcase and blender collar. Four Star Reviews: | 11% No issue so far with troublesome clogging commonly found with other brands and formulas - and it's strong. July 16, 2015 You know how super glues get clogged up after the first few uses, well this one doesn't seem to share that same problem. While there is a residue that is left which hardens, it flakes off easily without preventing the glue from being squeezed out again. The dry time could be a little faster for me. It takes a good 5 minutes (even longer sometimes depending on the job) for a solid set, but I like to use a little more than just a little. I will usually resort to a hair dryer to help speed things up (if I planned it right). Otherwise, I'm stuck holding the glued item with both hands waiting anxiously for the time to pass, because I'm unable to release the object. Glued a pair of reading glasses (you know the $10 pair) that broke around the lense and separated. I did my best to squeeze it back together, but couldn't muster the force to make it all the way. Regardless, the glue held it in place even with a minor gap. Overall, I'm pleased with this...it's not quite worth 5 stars, but it's a very good product and the price was reasonable. Works fine at first, but... May 23, 2015 Initially flowed fine out of the tube but clogged up pretty easily and had to be cleared with a needle. Since it has a high tact rate once the pieces are joined there is very little room to readjust. it has a very short set up time. This gel is thinner than most and will dispense very quickly be careful on how you dispense the glue. Great seal but does not immediately set. November 15, 2016 This does take some time and pressure to hold the part that you are gluing in place - until it sets! I was gluing some Holiday Ornaments, and it took some time. Thinking at least 2 to 3 minutes while applying a good amount of pressure. But, once it sets... the hold does seem very tight and reliable. Of course, had much glue residue on my finger tips after applying. Gel Works Great April 23, 2016 Works great, and I love the gel. I hate the clear liquid glues, since one has to steadily and patiently hold the broken pieces together for a long time before the sticking takes place before one can let them go to dry on their own. With the gel, you can stick the items together, and the gel will hold it for you more quickly for the full drying to be completed. The only gripe is that the bottle contains very little gel. After two uses, I think the bottle is nearly empty. Awesome!! January 23, 2013 This is the best super glue I have ever used. Stays exactly where you put it unlike others that run all over the place. Sets up pretty fast but the total drying time for me took a few hours therefore I only gave it 4 stars.My main purpose of buying this was to fix my mp3 player. The little nub on the slide power button was worn off. So I layered a few strips of this glue on it and it formed an extension of the button. Very disappointed since the spoon was a present from my granddaughter. Nope May 25, 2016 UPDATE Dec 4 2016: Nope. Gets stuck just like any other 'super glue'. Just get the cheapest one, they are all good for two or three applications. ORIGINAL REVIEW (5 stars) I have tried several brands of 'super glue' and this one so far has been the best. The glue itself is good, but, to be honest, most acrylate glues are. What stands it apart for me is that the cap design is very well thought out and just works. So far it has never been clogged for me, and whereas with other brands I can use the glue once or twice and then it locks up dead and I have to cut off the top, this product works for me every time. For this reason alone it gets five stars from me. messy January 24, 2014 Not a very good application, very hard to control and tip crusts up easily. Cap finally got glued on permanently so I had to unscrew the entire tip off the bottle and apply glue with either a pin or a toothpick, which turned out to be a very effective way to apply glue without getting it all over. It turned out that loctite gel based super glue works much better, as it does not run. But if you need the glue to flow into a small area or crack, that's when the original will come in handy. One was Fisher Price plastic bulldozer and the second was a glass ornament. The Loctite seems to have worked fine on the ornament but it failed completely on the toy bulldozer, the bond failed the first time I tested it. I used another glue on the dozer that so far has held. In fairness the bond has not been kid tested yet. There are better options December 26, 2014 Frustrating, does not stick fast enough. I was very excited about receiving this glue in order to glue my daughter's trophy she won and broke the same day. I can't open it and there's a lot of glue left in the container. It was a waste of money. The product works well but it's disappointing to be unable to open it. Did not work for my project (plastic) May 24, 2015 I wanted to use this to glue laminated pictures of my students to their own plastic bucket (for a bucket filling activity/bulletin board). It DID NOT work. I left them overnight and the pictures still came off the bucket. It may work for other projects or surfaces, but, it did not work on plastic.
