Great boots

Bought a half size smaller, still was a little large but perfect when adding $10 Dr. Scholls comfort inlays.
I loved these boots

I loved these boots. I ordered a size less which the prompt said. They fit just great. Just add in some gel insole and good to go.

Rugged, Inexpensive Combat Boot
September 8, 2017
Good quality, well-constructed boot. They are somewhat spacious inside, but that's fine because they won't be too tight after you install some comfort padding. They are an inexpensive combat boot, folks, so don't expect them to feel like a pair of $150 hiking boots - and they do take awhile to break in. If you have tender little tootsies, these may not be the boot for you. If you are searching for something cheap, yet rugged, go ahead and grab a pair.
Order a size down
April 27, 2017
I usually wear a 10.5 so I originally bought the 10. Those were two big so I returned them and got the size 9, which fits perfectly. They do have an odor when you first get them, but it goes away after a couple months of leaving them out.

So far great boots. Good use some insoles if you plan on doing much walking or standing. I use them for motorcycle riding. The SMELL is like that of strong tar. I've aired them, used leather cleaner, and weeks later they still have some odor.Update: almost a year later and still holding strong
GREAT BOOT, GREAT STYLE, GREAT PRICE, GREAT SHIPPING Four greats equal a great purchase in my book!!
March 18, 2015
I believe that there are bogus knock-offs, third parties, and used boots from people saying they are new messing up the REAL boots reviews since Ive read them all and see the trend and where it leads to. All I know is I just recieved my boots today, Fast shipping thank you, and wore them all day w/o any feet hurting or soles falling off eyelets popping off what have you! After the full use of a day in these boots I pulled them off and my feet were not totally hurting. I would still say, YES put in a size 12 gel insole! YES buy a size smaller as the 11 is the 12! And last and really the least of my worries, YES they do smell like kerosene and that is ok its not that bad really!! These are quality boots for the least expense and I dont have a bad thing to say about them at all so Do your due diligence and make sure you are buying the Rothco brand FROM ROTHCO and you too will be excitedly surprised at how well the purchase turned out to be and just how quick Amazon will get them into your hands and onto your feet. GREAT BOOT, GREAT STYLE, GREAT PRICE, GREAT SHIPPING Four greats equal a purchase in my book!!
Get vulcanized sole every time.
August 22, 2014
Pros-Vulcanized rubber sole - non vulcanized always last around 2 months.2.Love jungle boots - see 3,4 &53.Lightwieght - very light on feet.4.No break in period - no sore feet.5.Keeps feet dry, cool and comfortable - just don't wear them in winter.Cons- Panama sole - never ever on wet indoor surface(Working as a Meat Cutter at a grocery store.).2.Came in at 8" high instead of 9" - Top edge of boot rests right above ankle.3.Doesn't work with 9 hole quick release zipper- because their 8" instead of 9".4.Never wear them in winter - take bus year round feet will freeze in these.Really love how comfortable the jungle boots are.if they made a vulcanized rubber rippled sole(all I've found were just rubber.) I'd buy them every time. These are great in 3" of water or mud.Use them 6 days a week for 10 hours a day.Make sure you get good inserts if you stand or walk all day(gel works best.).By the time I get home every day my feet don't hurt when I take these off.Another great point is your feet don't sweat in these.

Nice boots. Very comfortable. I didn't pay attention to the reviews but they were true. If you are a 9 like me. You may order an 8 1/2. Overall very good product. Not meant for rain though.

Run Quite Big, but Not a Bad Deal
October 10, 2017
Yes, they do run big! My daughter usually gets a 4 in her Converse. I had to get her a size 2 in these boots. We first went to a shop nearby that carried them. The salesman there told us they run very large and brought her out a size 3. That was still too big. She actually could get into a size 1, but it was tight and would be uncomfortable to wear for long. I ended up ordering the 2 online. The size 2 fits her great. She likes the way they feel and look. We have not field tested them, yet.
Go ford a creek, you wont regret it.
June 16, 2017
I wanted to get a pair of boots to go out and walk in creeks, fish, or hike in that didn't cost too much and can handle being soaked and draining out so I'm very satisfied with these. Theres basically no lining so an insole is a good idea if the hard bottom will hurt your feet or back. As for me, I'm only walking around in them for a few hours at a time so the rugged nature of the boot does not bother me. With the way I like to run around the woods these boots give the the confidence that I cant be hurt by and trash or glass I could step on in the water but also I'm protected Water Moccasins or copperheads. If your concerned about how strongly they smell of rubber when you unpackage them then you better get walking in some water and the scent will go away when you break them in.
Good Boots for most environments.
March 27, 2017
Worked excellently and were very durable. A bit big but they were very useful overall. I recommend that you buy one to two sizes larger than what you usually wear and get some insoles to go with it.
Not bad for the price...
October 28, 2015
I ordered a pair of these cheap Chinese made boots after looking at several pairs of the genuine article at a local army surplus store. I obviously did not expect the quality to be even close to the the real American made 1970's boots so I was not disappointed with the quality in that sense. Potential buyers should note that these boots are sized like a quality American made work boot. IE: I wear a size 11 shoe but my Red Wing work boots are a size 9.5. I ordered these boots in a 9.5 and they fit as well as can be expected. The insoles are hard and flat with almost no cushion to them so after one day of use I added a set of cheap work boot insoles that I had lying around which greatly improved the comfort. Overall a good boot for the money, I suspect the glued on sole will start to fall off after about a year of use but I've had $100 boots that didn't last as well as these have so far.
Good, functional wet terrain boot, UPDATE: not so durable, though.
June 10, 2015
After reading mixed reviews on various jungle boots available, I was prepared for disappointment. They do smell bad when new as reported (like solvents or petroleum), but my use is in swamps and marshes, so they're smelling quite a bit worse already. They are light and comfortable - I ordered a half-size too large because I wear thick, wool socks over a cotton sock for comfort. They do well in wet, mucky conditions, and rinse off fairly well, and "pump" the water out through the canvas and arch holes quite well. I can't speak to durability since I've only had them a week, but for the price if they last the summer, I'll be pleased. Recommended for aquatic, wet, marshy uses and do well on dry land, too.UPDATE: These were not as durable as I hoped. For hard, field use, only expect about a year before the canvas starts tearing and the seams start pulling. And the smell really never goes away. What is that stuff!
Half sizes should be wary of going a size up.
August 27, 2014
Some what loose fit because I'm a 7.5 and ordered an eight. Not much of a problem though after getting some gel insoles that are much needed for these since there's not much done in the way to make them too comfortable which is expected from the price. The leather on it is tough and durable and has taken even to light abrasions on it yet after a week of usage. Just bear in mind during the process of breaking them in your feet will be slightly uncomfortable and you will need some kind of insole for added comfort, and if you a half size like me you may want to keep it a size down then depending on how you like them too feel. All together there pretty nice aside from the comfort.

Comes a whole number bigger in size
May 19, 2016
I was a little disappointed about the boot sizes. Seems to come a whole number bigger in size. I'm a 9.5 and it was way too big. I returned the 9.5 and requested a 9. And I was still too big. I gave them away to my cousin.

Poor quality despite brand name
September 6, 2017
Expect to get $30 worth of boot quality when you purchase these boots. The pair I own had an eyelet come loose after I walked a mile in them and removed the laces for leather conditioning. I've owned them for three weeks, but I will be wearing them daily for school in a rainy city, so I will provide an update when they start to show signs wear and tear.As far as comfort goes, they do not come with insoles and are not padded, so I was responsible for my own comfort there. With a set of moisture-wicking foam insoles from the local grocery store, my boots feel like an uncomfortable pair of Rockport loafers. I haven't owned any other pairs of jungle boots, so I can't say how these Rothco boots compare with others.
Jungle Boots
July 17, 2017
It's your basic jungle boot. No support or anything. I put some gel support in mine and they work just fine. They get a great shine too!! Unfortunately, not very comfortable for walking/standing all day. Not sure if I'd buy again. Maybe different support?
For play, not work.
June 21, 2017
I bought these for work, but they're now more fashiony they are not non slip or water proof at all. Also, they are not shiny at all like the pictures imply. I like them, just not for my intended purpose or based on accuracy of the pictures.
They run very large
March 10, 2017
These boots are alright, but they are enormous. I read the other reviews saying to order a size smaller than normal so I did, but I would have probably been better with another size down on top of that. I might order another pair in the future to actually have and wear, but as I ordered these for cosplay I will just suck it up.
Decent boot, overwhelming odor!
October 28, 2015
Seem like decent enough boots for my purpose and fit fine, although I ordered 1 size less than my size based on other reviews I read. The thing that is VERY undesirable is the overwhelming smell! Our mailbox and house still has a lingering odor from these boots, 4 days later. The smell reminds me of a combination of moth balls and creosote (for those who remember that chemical). The odor is so strong and concerning as to what health affect it might have. I have left the boots outside for 3 days now, but they still have a powerful "chemical" smell. Not like any leather product I've ever smelled before and makes me think these are not "real" leather or is due to some chemical agent used with the polish. If you have a sensitive nose or asthma, I would highly recommend not buying these boots, you will most likely regret it!
Get what you pay for
May 9, 2015
These are very cheap boots and you get what you pay for. Until the US military actually starts issuing updated jungle boots these will sadly have to do. I guess I feel ok with their quality given what I paid for them. One note, unless you wear thick socks, these are rather uncomfortable. I wore them for two days on a hiking trip in the everglades by about the 3rd hour, my feet were killing me. I put on another layer of hiking socks and they were ok for a few more hours.

Get what you pay for.
November 1, 2016
I advise against this boot.1. Sizing led to confusion.2. Wrinkles when tied.3. Weak sole-shoe bond (ripped off upon removal).4. Hella wide, my own fam called me Bigfoot everytime I wore them. Lol.5. Platform is somehow... cheap feeling.--Pro--Okay for hiking if you have good foot coordination.
Very light duty shoe.
October 17, 2016
Had to adjust my review over time. Initially I like these ok, but I found them a little uncomfortable and this was helped tremendously by using insoles. It's stated they were too big so I did order accordingly.I wore them almost daily for 2 months at work and in the yard, etc. I do not suggest this. More of a shoe for looks than anything else.As I was tugging them off one evening I separated the sole from the body of the shoe.I know they're inexpensive, but I expected a bit more life than that.
Not built for work.

These are not work boots. I am not certain what category they should be in but I bought them for work. Cheaply made to look good on a website. Returning these ASAP.

Oversized
September 23, 2017
In short, the boots are too big.Size 11 sneakers fit me well, and size 11 hiking boots fit me well. But, these Rothco boots in size 11 stick at least two inches beyond the end of my big toe, like clown shoes. I simply won't ever wear something that over-sized.Otherwise the boots seem fine, and I might buy a pair the next size down if the vendor approves my refund for the first pair.Either Rothco has its sizing wrong, or multiple other shoemakers do. I wish the manufacturers would size their items accurately, and consistently with the rest of the world.
Huge
August 18, 2017
These boots are enormous! We ordered a size down and the length and width were OK but the height! The foot can easily flap up and down. Plus they have a strong PVC smell. These were returned.

June 22, 2015
I'd had give this boots 2 stars.ConsThe way the boots looks online compare to the actual physical boots its way different. Online it looks the part. Strong leather with that ultimate military finish. But it's not. The sole and lace must be the closest to the real deal. The leather looking material is a sort plastic leather (feel and look). In one wear the black of the boots was coming off on my sock and pants. I had to use an inner sole cause the one it comes with is a thin paper like material. It's not a steel toe.ProsIt has a good ankle support. A real good mimic of the military look. Under Sole and lace seems strong. Ooh. When they say 14W it's really a W for WIDE I'd say that's a plus.

Not real boots
November 21, 2016
These "boots" would be appropriate to be used as props in theater or film, but as for them being suitable for human wear, they're not. I usually wear a 10, and after those were too big I ordered an 8. Those also were too big. The boots are made out of a rigid plastic and have no padding on the soul of the foot. These are not actually boots, but rather boot shaped objects. Who ever designed and manufactures these is a master of comedy and sadism.

August 27, 2016
THE BOOTS HAVE A STRONG CHEMICAL SMELL THAT IS STILL LINGERING IN SPITE OF WALKING THROUGH A SWAMP WITH WATER OVER THE TOPS OF THE BOOTS. I CAN'T GET RID OF IT. THE BOOTS STAND OUTSIDE MOST OF THE TIME SO THE ODOR HAS LESSENED SOMEWHAT, PERHAPS I CAN BRING THEM INTO THE HOUSE BY FREEZE UP
ORDER 2 SIZES SALLER THAN WHAT YOU ARE USED TO FROM ROTHCO
June 27, 2016
Rothco is the problem, not the seller, haven't worn a 7 in 50 years and these were still at least 1 size to large. I will try a reorder, size 6, just incredible... they are labeled size 7 so ???, 8-1/2 down to a labeled 7 & STILL TO BIG!!!'RUNS A LITTLE LARGE' is crap, a little large is only 1/2 a size, that's a little,,,not from my normal of 8 to 8-1/2SO ORDER A MINIMUM OF 1-1/2 SIZE SMALLER THAN YOU NORMALLY WEAR...I wear 8.5 to 9 usuallyReturned the 7's and reordered 6's, we will see what I get size wise from the seller with the Rothco name on it.
Toxic waste in the form of a boot
December 30, 2014
4 months old and they still stink like a toxic waste zone. I left them outside for two weeks but they still stink up my closet like I have a barrel of chemical waste in there. I finally wore them today because I thought I should wear my new boots instead of my trusty old holey boots and found that they are easily 2 sizes too large even though they are the same size I wear in other jungle boots. Yes, they smell so bad that I hadn't tried them on! Driving out to hike, the car filled with the smell and my eyes started to burn. Ridiculous. These boots are cheap but that's most likely because the factory that makes them is getting paid to export hazardous chemicals out of China in the form of Jungle Boots. Buyer beware.
before anything even LOOKED like it was starting to wear
September 23, 2014
Had them for 3 weeks, glue separated from the heel to the main construction of the boot on both boots, very dissatisfied with overall quality, my original pair from 70 lasted 2 damn yrs, before anything even LOOKED like it was starting to wear.
Failed
March 25, 2013
I've owned these in the past.I had a lot of back pain in the past, but not lately (last 5 or 6 years). I wondered if the back pain could be related to these boots. My last set of boots (not these jungle boots) wore out too quickly and cost 3 times as much as these. So i bought another set of these jungle boots but this time i also bought a set of inserts for them. Superfeet Black Premium InsolesWithout the inserts, i was standing on concrete talking with a friend and starting to get back pain that reminded me of pain in years past. after i bought the insert things are much better. Although the inserts were more than the boots, both together are still much cheaper than the last non-jungle boots i owned. The jungle boots will last much longer too.------------------------UPDATE----------------------------------------------------It's only July and i have worn these out. There is a split through the bottom.I mentioned that i've owned these in the past (above), but these are clearly not the same boots i used when i was in the military. They do look like the exact boots, but don't last anything like the originals. If they were the same boots, they would have lasted years not 4 months. I can't blame heavy usage for why these failed so quickly. I'm a computer tech, not a construction worker (which i've been in the past). My job wouldn't wear these out so fast. Another detail about the usage of these boots, is that half of my time i'm usually wearing sandals. i only wear these boots when i work (4 days a week). So long story short, these have to be made of very low quality material. For those that care to know, you don't quite get what you pay for with these. $27 is cheap, but you'd expect at least a year for cheap boots.I don't recommend anybody buying these.
