Five Star Reviews: | 49% Small in size, good for remote areas! November 16, 2016 We bought two of these--both for areas where tv reception is iffy. In one area, we were able to get nine channels with fairly clear reception. In the other, we got three. Still, given the prices for cable tv, it's worth the cost. I love being able to watch the news in the morning instead of just getting reruns on Hulu. We live in an tiny town in the country over 60 miles away from any stations. People out here told us there was NO tv reception (and there are no antennas on roofs). We gave this a try anyway, and love getting our three channels! This antenna is absolutely great! I have been through many antennas and this is by far the best so far. The motor is possessed and turns however it wants lol but I don't care cause it still works just takes a tad patience while tuning. No problem! I put it up on the roof on a 16ft pole.... fabulous. Great product! June 29, 2016 We get all our local stations, as expected. I installed this last fall and it has withstood one of our wettest and windiest seasons yet; granted it is installed properly. The 150 mile range is bogus, as it cannot physically reach a signal further than it is projected (line of sight also plays a big part in this). There were however some low signals that my smaller/indoor antenna could not pick up that this one could, which is a bonus. All in all, you cannot go wrong with this deal! Great product! It is relatively easy to install and does exactly what the product description says it will do. We get about 16 channels on it. It is a nice supplement to our cable service. We can switch from one to the other to get a wide range of regional stations. It works February 19, 2016 I was a little skeptical at first. Seems to be kind of cheaply made. One of the screws still had access material in the phillips slot rendering it unusable, but not a big deal I had a spare laying around and if I didn't it would've been fine with using just three.I'll be using this only indoors and honestly don't know how it would hold up outside here in MN. I doubt very well with all the plastic. Smaller than I expected but it works great. I've tried multiple different indoor antennas and non of them worked. If I remember right the longest range antenna I've tried before this had a 90 mile range and didn't work at all. This antenna I had to turn just right but I get all the channels in crystal clear with no interruptions. I couldn't be happier with this considering the price. | 60% Great J pole, perfect diameter and solid October 22, 2017 Great J pole. I used it to install a ham radio antenna by ataching it not to my roof but to my dish J pole so I could get a few more inches height. It feels very solid and it is powder coated. Works March 13, 2017 Easy to mount but seems a little cheap and will be interested to see how it holds up to Michigan climate. HDTV Antenna Mount - 20in March 10, 2017 I bought this antenna mount for mounting a 1PLUS HDTV Antenna Outdoor 150 Miles Range 360°Rotation Outdoor TV Antenna with Wireless Remote for Roof High Crystal Performance in my attic. Perfect fit for the antenna and was easy to mount to one of the ceiling joist in the attic. I ordered the Antennas Direct 20-Inch Antenna J-Mount to install ... November 23, 2015 I ordered the Antennas Direct 20-Inch Antenna J-Mount to install a bird house my wife had purchased. I wanted it mounted on the shed. I also purchased the Birds choice Mounting Flange For 1" Pole to attach the bird house to the J-Mount. Both items worked perfectly. The bird house has been mounted for over two months now with no problem. Five Stars July 31, 2015 Easy to install, works great with Outdoor HDTV Yagi Antenna with Motor Rotor, WA2608 Solid J-Mount extender. Works well! February 17, 2015 This mount is perfect for what I needed it for -- to mount the BoostWaves Antenna to the side of my roof. It is strong and can be easily manipulated into position and then tightened down. It is powder coated too so it will last forever without rusting.I needed more height than what this offered, so I went to my local hardware store and bought an 8-foot piece of 1" diameter PVC tube to use as an extender. Much cheaper than buying a metal extender here on Amazon and it will last just as long. I extended my antenna 6 more feet higher. I drilled holes into the top of the PVC tube and ran wire to all four corners of my roof to keep the pvc steady in the wind. No problem! Simply put the PVC into the top of this mount and bolt it in. Works like a charm and I definitely recommend this J-Mount. Just be careful it fits your antenna diameter. The maximum diameter to insert any pvc tube, extender tube or antenna tube into the top of this mount is 1 inch! Of course, you can buy a slightly smaller diameter, but DO NOT buy a larger diameter extender unless you have an adapter to scale it down to 1" or smaller. | 85% Excellent Coaxial Cable for Cable TV Cord Cutting Outside Antenna September 21, 2017 I recently ordered 1byown 85 miles digital amplified antenna and this product with a GE 23203 Cable Extension Adaptor were included on the page as also bought by customers. I ordered all three items and gave as a gift to an electronics engineer who loves tinkering with anything electronic. He was sure these items added could not be good, but upon checking, he was surprised and happy. They met his standards. He is also one very happy guy playing with his new antenna. He now has it getting 20 channels with most in HD, including FOX and Channel 10. He is still playing with it as I type. Excellent Coaxial Cable! A good cable at a good price. May 3, 2017 I used the Mediabridge coaxial cable with a antennae I bought for my rv that I used in the woods. The antennae was touted for a 150 mile range and I needed that for the fact that I was a good long ways from a city in the California foothills and I wanted clarity on the cable lines without interference. This cable did just that. With this cable and the antennae I chose I could pick up about 30 channels where before I could receive only 3 to 5. Seems to be of very good quality October 27, 2016 This cable appears to be very well made. It is rather stiff, but it will bend with a little help. The metal connectors look to be very sturdy. With items such as this, you can't really give an accurate assessment unless you have some testing equipment and/or you take the item apart to examine it. I don't plan on doing that. I'll just say that I do get a nice, strong signal with this cable. MediaBridge makes good stuff. Excellent coax cable May 23, 2016 This is a very good quality cable: rugged and well made. The plastic covers over the end of the connectors protect the center conductor during shipping and installation, especially when you have to feed it through tight spots. Also, the blue plastic sleeves around the nut of the F connector make it easier to tighten it.I purchased this cable to replace a shorter (25') RG-59 with higher losses, to be able to mount the antenna outside. The signal strength seemed better with this longer (50') RG-6.Given the quality and the price, I definitely recommend this product.Second purchase:I recently ordered a second cable to add another antenna to my cable-cut configuration. Mediabridge continues to be my coax cable of choice: solid and well made. The EZ grip connector caps make it much easier to attach, especially in tight places. would definitely recommend October 16, 2015 i bought this product with the idea in mind of moving my over-the-air tv antenna from my living room to an unfinished attic. my reception had been good almost all of the time with the antenna in the living room, but there were times when it was 'spotty' on certain channels. i am in a 1.5 story house with 2 very large cottonwood trees across the street from me (they are between me and 2 of the main signals i receive. i needed a high quality cable for this application, and this one really fits that category. i DID have to additionally purchase an adaptor to connect the 2 sections of coaxial cable (1 secton running off the antenna), but i picked it up for under $5, and that was a Monster brand gold-plated unit. the company who manufactures the antenna i have also offered an extension, but theirs was 25 ft. for $30. the MediaBridge unit was twice as long for half the price, and i believe the quality is even better. very happy with this purchase, and i highly recommend it. This is good quality cable July 13, 2014 This is good quality cable. The connectors are solidly attached at the ends. You should only use as much cable as you need, because added cable length attenuates the signal, but this is low loss cable and the difference between 25' of cable and 50' of cable probably won't be significant. For outside applications, protect all connections from water, as any water (even humidity) that can make it into the connection will cause corrosion, which is a major source of signal loss. I'd recommend wrapping the sticky rubbery silicone tape that sticks to itself over the connection, sliding heat shrink tubing over that and shrinking it to keep out water. When possible, install connections under eves where they are protected from rain, snow and ice.The blue molded plastic grips on the end connectors allow this cable to be installed by hand, which can be very handy when making blind connections on the back of the TV as it's hanging on a wall mount (detaching the lower portion of the TV from the wall mount and hinging it out from the top helps to make enough clearance), but there is a down side to the plastic connector grips. You'll need to drill a large 9/16" hole in the side of your house if you're running this cable outside to connect to an external antenna.I used this cable to connect a large roof mounted 3'X4' DB8e UHF antenna directly to our Samsung 32" LED TV without using an inline amplifier, and we're picking up strong signals from HDTV stations almost 90 miles away. We get 35 channels of over-the-air HDTV, with no cable bill.I ordered the TV, BluRay/DVD player, coax, antenna mount and antenna from Amazon and it all worked great together. Great price, great value, great convenience. I love shopping on Amazon and having the stuff I want in a couple of days, delivered directly to my door. I don't even watch TV. That's my wife. I do watch some Amazon Prime streaming video, though. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 17% Great antenna! Great price? May 29, 2016 My honest review of the best choice products hdtv rotor remote outdoor antenna. I purchased this antenna at full price and did not receive a discount or free antenna in exchange for this review. I am about sixty five miles from the nearest broadcast station and live in a densely wooded Forrest with trees much higher than I could ever mount an antenna. I was very happy and surprised by this little inexpensive antenna and received many more channels than I thought would be possible. As a recent cord cutter I wasn't sure how well I'd fair without paying an outrageously expensive cable television bill but with this antenna it's been no trouble. I received every channel of broadcast TV that I wanted but started getting greedy and have experimented with dozens of mounting locations and angles for this antenna and managed to squeeze out some very distant signals. At one point I had left the antenna laying in the yard facing the sky and still got many stations crystal clear. I have used the remote control to aim the unit many times and find it invaluable but a bit touchy and sometimes a strong wind will move the direction and it will need adjustment. I have regrettably upgraded to a much more expensive and larger antenna mounted on my roof which only gets me half the channels this one did! I will be reordering this antenna and junking the big fancy name brand one. I only had the best choice products hdtv antenna mounted for one year so I can't speak to its longevity but at this price versus a cable bill it's a no brainer.Again this is my honest review of the best choice products hdtv rotor remote outdoor antenna, I did not receive a discount or free antenna or other product in exchange for this honest unbiased review. For this low price I would not hesitate to purchase more of these antennas Reception is awesome where with another antenna was bad, but don't buy it for the motor especially for outside December 13, 2015 Why 4 and not 5 stars? The rotation isn't as great as you might think... not what i expected.I bought this to replace a garbage omni directional anetnna (the one that looked like a UFO). I still wanted to install it in the Attic, not outside. After reading numerous reviews, this antenna does not seem to do well outside; the motor seems to break easy, this way being indoors i thought it would last. The motor does rotatate the antenna and it seems that when it reaches it's peak it automatically reverses which is cool. what i don't like is that a simple quick press of the button does not turn the antenna 1mm or so like i thought. the jumps are a bit big.. plus the button on the box doesn't follow an exact pattern. so if the box is in the room and the antenna is in the attic sometimes hitting the button 4 times it makes the antenna rotate L, L, L, R. instead of L, R, L, R.As soon as i plugged everything up the box had an orange light lit. My house is wired for 5TV's and i have an amplified splitter. I had the MAIN TV cable come into the box and then to the TV. being amplified my guess is this doesn't work or the fact it came from the splitter. So i changed the hook up. Now i had cable from the antenna go to the BOX, then TV1 to the MAIN TV and TV2 to the splitter.... The antenna now rotated, but nothing worked. I got no channels on any TV. I went back to my old set up, but placed the box up in the attic which disables the purpose of having the ability to rotate the antenna from inside the house. i can see there's 3 lights, green, red and orange but the manual doesn't detail what these things mean. When you use the remote the red always stays on (so it must be power) and the green light goes on. But most of the time it would crash, and i would need to turn off the box and turn it back on. after a good half hour of getting irritated with the box, i brought a TV up to the attic and just rotated the antenna by hand. the motor also leaves a lag where once tighten, you can still turn it a bit... i can imagine how this acts outdoors with wind... it probably shakes giving you poor reception if you tighten down your antenna on the edge of a good/bad signal.I still can't get channel 6 (ABC) and i'm 55 miles from the city of Philadephia. I do have lots of trees, buildings, an airport and i'm sure other things in the way... i live in Trenton NJ and between here and Philly there are penty of obstacles in the way. Oddly enough the signal worked best when i pointed the antenna downwards a bit. from the angle i would way say in 100 feet it hits the grass; but it works. In the event you didn't know, most TV's have a signal checker which helped to tune the antena. I tunned to a previous bad channel and the best i got was 20. Channel 10(NBC) which was always my best channel comes in with a 28. (i believe it's out of 30 - Samsung TV's).By the way the front of the antenna is the part with the loops. The instructions state to bolt something to the back whiCih i still don't know what. There is a slot and a screw hole but after a few videos i cannot figure out what goes back there.1 of my screws was stripped and the package only contained 5 silver screws when you need 9 (though the one hole i have no idea what goes in it, so i see it as it came with 4 but i needed 8). I was able to find some in my random screw collection.Right now, despite all of the problems i mentioned above i get clear reception and the channels i once had where the other antenna failed, this one gets them clear, therefore it's a 4 out of 5 for me. I didn't care much for the motor and coudlnt find any information in regards if it worked with a splitter and amplification therefore i took a gamble on it. If it craps out like the other one, i'll adjust my review. This review was written on 12/13/2015. I"ll update some photos when i get a chance. Love this for the money December 9, 2015 This antenna,I instaled ontop my motorhome. I go south for winters, and i pull several channels soonafter gettg out of mtns.,and40+/channels crystal clear, when in Florida.Love this for the money.I will say that the only reason i give this a 4/star,instead of a 5,is that i am in my motorhome yr/round,and while in Pa,i am in the mountains and this antenna willnot bringin hardly any stations, which is ok-me,as i put a tower/antenna with booster behind my site,in the woods. Love this item April 30, 2015 Love this item. The channels that I am able to get come in bright and clear.I am 40 miles away from the stations and I get very good reception. Two channels I have not been able to get that I used to get with my old antenna. There are different models of Sky 1666 March 6, 2015 I installed this same antenna for a friend and it worked so well, I ordered one for myself. Well, the one I received was different! Same model number Sky1666 however, it was in a different box and had different materials/parts. The antenna looks the same but, the coaxial cable was shorter and the signal booster is different. Also, it does not work near as well. His picks up 47 channels and mine only picks up 18 channels. We are in the same travel park ( only 300' from each other) the terrain is flat and there are no trees between us of any size. We are about 60 miles from Tampa and 35 miles from Fort Myers. His antenna is about 5' higher in elevation than mine but, he was given 75' of coax and I received 10 meters (32.8') coax! So, I can not raise mine any higher. It does work slightly better than my RV antenna (with an after market power booster). We are going to switch boosters and see if there is any difference. Also, there are 2 TV antenna out puts and only the TV 1 out put works....unless a TV most be hooked up to both for both to work. There antenna is mostly plastic and thin metal in construction and is fairly compact.,there was no packing in between the inner space and outer box during shipping.....I am not sure what all that rattling does to the electronics.I would make sure I purchase the one with a 75' coax....if, I ordered another one. Not too pleased with the reception of only 35 miles with mine when my friends gets Tampa stations.Oh, mine only has 4 rings in directional front. Some have 5! | 24% It's good, but for my purposes in the attic April 6, 2017 I used this to mount an antenna in my attic. It's good, but for my purposes in the attic, a simple metal pipe and a few mounting straps from the home improvement store would have worked just as well - for less money. On the other hand, for an outdoor mount where appearance is more important, this product is a good choice. What more can you ask for? November 7, 2016 It's a pipe, no it's an antenna stand, it's both. Works OK. Didn't love the way the mounting holes are as it can be tough to get it locked down but does the job It was easy to mount and it looks professional June 10, 2016 Did the trick. It was easy to mount and it looks professional... not that most people will even notice it, as it's nice and compact! The mounting plate was a little bit bigger than fascia I was mounting it to, so I was only able to use three of the screws provided, but those screws are obviously strong... I've had a couple HEAVY wind storms a mile from the beach on the east coast and it's holding strong. Needs Instructions March 9, 2016 Works great once you figure it out. With absolutely NO instructions, you are on your own figuring out how it works. The "instruction" sheet is basically a graphic image; that's it. No step by step or helpful hints. I basically had to completely uninstall it to get it right, which was wasted time and effort which could be avoided with a few written sentences. Looks larger in picture although the dimensions were correct in ... November 29, 2015 Looks larger in picture although the dimensions were correct in the product description. It has hardware to mount on a surface, but does not have hardware to mount the antenna on the mount's pipe. I did not have a problem installing it on my roof with the hardware provided. If the antenna mounts to the end of the pipe, make sure the pipe is the right diameter for the antenna. Easy to assemble, good quality August 10, 2015 Good antenna mount. Included all the hardware, along with gasket pads (look kind of like little stick on squares of roof tar) that go between the shingle a metal base. You drive the screws through the pad to seal the hole in the shingle. In addition to those, I caulked around the base, and filled in the other holes not being used to prevent water from getting under it.Mount was easy to assemble and was nice and long to get my DB4e antenna plenty high. | 11% Even more value and professionalism. November 9, 2017 Just one word, "Professional".I bought two different cables from Mediabridge and was very impressed with:1. very nice packaging.2. Nicely bundled and wrapped.3. "Dust caps" that keeps the center conductor secure and clean. I've never had these from other sellers.4. Cable clips to secure the cables down (not a whole lot, but way better than none). I've never had these from other sellers.5. Notification from the seller that: It's coming, contact information for any issues, and the usual "satisfaction inquiry". I've never had these from other sellers.I wished that they sold all the different lengths that I needed. Hard to tighten October 10, 2017 Hard to get a tight fit but when you get out a wrench to do it the connection seems to be just fine. Works well; good construction. June 27, 2017 It's 50' of coax. Seems to be well constructed and each connector was protected well enough that I was able to pull it through walls without damage. Cut the cord. March 22, 2017 Works good. For the price ya can't be it. I have now been cable free for 1 month and it feels great. Extra 200$ a month saved. I ordered 2 cables, and 3 of the blue ... March 15, 2017 I ordered 2 cables, and 3 of the blue end pieces that make them easier to screw in popped off. Not a big deal, the cables seemed to work okay. I ordered long ones because it was going to be a while before the cable company could get to my new house to get the living room outlet working, so I ran it from the only working outlet in the far bedroom to the TV . I probably had about 10' of cable left, it wasn't stretched tightly from one end to the other. The signal was weak and kept dropping, but I don't necessarily think that was the fault of the cable. Good quality cable, easy to use connector, but check your plug first May 5, 2014 The cable arrived on time, and it's been performing quite well, with no real impact on quality despite the 50 foot length. The connectors have this great design (not shown in the photo) which allows you to simply slip a covering over the plug to instantly secure it, rather than twisting and twisting forever. This was great for the wall plug. However - as I discovered - if the cable box has a short plug, the relatively long covering may not fit snugly. I was able to make it fit, but it is still easily jostled loose. Nonetheless, would still highly recommend, so long as your plug is standard-length. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 10% Don't count on rotation. September 8, 2017 Reception is OK, I guess. Motor died. Installed it, used the motor to adjust position. After two days I wanted to adjust it a little more and it didn't turn any more. Ok antenna November 24, 2015 It's an ok antenna but no where near the 150 miles range it states. I live where there are no hills and minimal trees and I would say in the right conditions it would have a max range of 50 to 60 miles. You never know where the rotor is pointing the antenna ... November 16, 2015 You never know where the rotor is pointing the antenna And It works well for shopping networks and Hispanic channelsRotor is difficult to use because you never know which way it's pointing andIntermittently stops receiving signal and tell you stop turning the antenna Not bad....good signal grab....made poorly October 31, 2015 It grabs signal great! But....is a very flimsy construction....dont like how you only have 1 line coming from the antenna and then had to go into a box inside the house to run a 2nd tv thus meaning ya have to run another cable...works good but needs to be more sturdy You get what you pay for. April 17, 2015 Packaging is less than professionble the attatching screws were just thrown in the box, i ended up being short 1 screw for the motor to the antenna (fortunatly being a hobbiest i had one the right size). The motor itself rotates whatever direction it wants to so i manually pointed in the direction where i would get the channels i needed. Overall the reception is quite good but would i recommend this product? No. antenna works fine. But if you aren't prepared to rotate your ... December 28, 2014 Brings in 12 stations where previously I could receive none. The "rotator" remote does not work, the "rotator" unit works sometimes, but the direction it turns changes randomly, sometimes clockwise, sometimes counterclockwise, sometimes the same direction multiple times. In a nutshell, if you can't see the antenna as you work the control, you'll never get anywhere. Since the amplifier is apparently in the same box as the "rotator", you have to leave it connected, so I blew off the gadgetry and just pointed the antenna by twisting the pole manually. If you don't mind flakey rotators, antenna works fine. But if you aren't prepared to rotate your antenna manually, I'd hesitate on this one. | 8% Antenna Mount September 10, 2017 Good unit, but cannot mount on a pole in front of my house. I had purchased 2 of the Clear View 4's with 30" masts. But the mast wasn't high enough. I didn't want to have to put in 4 new screw holes, I wanted to use the original holes form the 30" mast. It was not heavy and I did manage to put some wrinkles in the pole just attaching the antenna. Where I tightened down the clamps on the antenna it did but dings in the pole. I guess the antenna won't slide up or down with it bent like that. The paint was good and the way it mounted to the home was good. Pipe easily crushes when tighted July 8, 2013 I have an "Antennas Direct ClearStream4 HDTV Antenna" on top of this and the antenna moved back and forth, so I tightened it more. It still moved, so it tightened it more - both bolts. This continued until I looked at the pipe and realized it was crushing. I stopped, but the antenna still moved. I'm hoping that it will rust in place and not move anymore. Well, that's my strategy anyway. I hope it works. | 2% This one is stupid. So I hooked upBest Choice and it picked up most of the channels CS-4 did but not the pixelated ones. The rotor doesn't tell youwhere the antenna is pointing and the buttons turn it wherever they want with no rhyme or reason so I end up turningit manually. If they could fix the remote rotor problem, I'd be interested in trying again but for now the CS-4 is better.Best Choice gave me a $15 partial refund and said not to bother sending it back (it would have cost me $22 tosend it USPS) so I am out the $22 whether I send it back for $37 full refund or take the partial refund. I ended up going to home depot, bought a 10' galvanized 1 1/2" pole for ten dollars, much thicker metal, made some simple brackets and I was set The specs on this product read "40-Inch x 1 -Inch ... October 13, 2014 The specs on this product read "40-Inch x 1 -Inch diameter" The diameter is actually 1 5/8" so it wouldn't work for me right out of the box, had to get a 1" pipe to slide inside of it to mount my discone antenna on.Other than that, it is built solidly. I would have given it 5 stars had it been the diameter it was advertised as being. Its Huge! April 10, 2014 If you are thinking of buying this for anything but a satellite install, don't! It is advertised for mounting over the Air TV antennas, but the diameter is to large. It is an antenna poll that arrived late and defective February 22, 2014 Not a whole lot to say, it is a antenna mounting pole. Arrived with everything you need, seemed to be made of quality materials and would have worked for the most part, except for the defect. The unit arrived later then promised. Unit mounting plate was not formed (stamped) correctly and defective from the manufacture. Returned the unit, as I had already ordered and received another unit from Amazon from a different supplier (Winegard DS-3000 J Pipe Mount.) Good thing, as if I had waited the project would have slipped further behind due to defect. | 1% Two Stars October 22, 2016 Worked well for awhile.... till one of the ends came off.And I treated them well. good cable; worthless connectors December 3, 2015 I bought this to replace a cable I was using for my router and modem (home wi-fi). However I encountered weekly, if not more often, dropped internet connections. After several visits from Time Warner techs trying to figure out the intermittent problems they determined the connectors were the source of resistance such that my upload (return signal) was so poor that the signal would not lock on. I had to constantly reset my connection; sometimes 2 or 3 times in a day. Once TWC replaced the connectors, I have not since had a single problem. The tech was impressed with the cable itself; he asked if I had gotten it from them. But what good is it if it has such resistance in the connectors that you get dropped connections?? It certainly isn't their responsibility to fix the crummy hardware which customers buy through Amazon. Ok - love Mediabridge and their products and pricing March 15, 2015 Ok - love Mediabridge and their products and pricing. Great value overall! This should be - and for the most part is - a 5 star product. However, when I trimmed the cable and added a new end connector it seemed as if the cable is .5mm wider then any there coax I have worked with in the past. It took a great deal of effort and numerous attempts to get the new connector on this cable after cutting this cable. So, if you are intending to trim this wire be forewarned. I did eventually work but was very tight and took a few tries.P.S. - It's funny that almost every 3 star rating says "'haven't used" or "didn't need" Cable connectos bad! February 26, 2014 Purchased to connect TV to HDTV antenna. Could not scan channels- replaced one connector. Still problem. Replaced second connector and cable worked. NEVER experienced catv cable problem before!!!!Bob bbeckis @cox.net Cable Received Not as Described January 7, 2012 I bought this Mediabridge 50 ft coaxial cable in November 2011 on the basis of good reviews and that it was a dual-shielded cable with compression/"easy grip" connectors. What I got was a cable with no compression connectors and no easy grip connectors. I can't even tell if it's dual-shielded since there's no printing on the cable saying so. The connectors look like a typical f-type connector you get on a standard cable found at your local electronics store. The picture of the cable at the time (had gray easy grip/compression connectors) on Amazon was different than the one that's currently shown with red easy grip connectors. But if you checked the photo on the Mediabridge company website in November, the cable photo there didn't show compression or easy grip connectors and the product description didn't mention said connectors either. Unfortunately, I checked Mediabridge's website after I received the cable. If I had known the actual Mediabridge cable I'd get wasn't going to be what was pictured/described on Amazon, I wouldn't have bought it. I could've bought a similar GE cable for 50% less. So am I satisfied with the cable? I can't say that I am. I can't return it to Amazon since it's past 30 days. I should mention I haven't used the cable yet. Haven't even opened the bag, but it could be the cable performs great despite the connectors being just standard F-Type connectors and then maybe not. My beef is what I got was not what was described and I was expecting compression connectors at the least. Since this is a product "sold by Mediabridge" and "fulfilled by Amazon," I think Mediabridge bears the responsibility of describing the product correctly or having an up-to-date photo on Amazon. If you want to buy this cable, buyer beware. Be sure to check Mediabridge's website for the current description/photo of the cable and decide if that's what you want before you order, because it may not match what you see on Amazon.UPDATE (Jan. 19, 2012) - Finally used this Mediabridge 50 ft. cable. The cable sent to me definitely DOES NOT have compression connectors, and the cable isn't any more pliable to handle. As for picture quality, it's improved, but it's replacing a cable that's been hanging outside for over 20 years. Most likely any new cable from any manufacturer would offer better video quality. I would not recommend this cable for outdoor use if you're planning to install outside to a rooftop antenna. The plain vanilla f-type connectors on this Mediabridge cable offer little protection to guard against the weather other than what looks like a cheap piece of black tape with the Mediabridge name printed on it. I had to construct a boot to protect the connectors for outside use. Not happy about that. That's an added cost to me. I would not buy this Mediabridge cable again. I can now find a *name brand* RG6 w/24k gold-plated compression connectors, quad-shield, weather proof pliable cable, with a ground wire from my local electronics store for a comparable price. Bottom line: buy name brand if you can or go to your local hardware store that sells RG6 cable for cents/ft. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 18% Not a good purchase September 15, 2017 Had it for a year now and nothing but problems. Original box with antenna came broken and without a power cord. When I contacted company I received a new power box and still no power cord. Rotary does not work from box or remote. Single is easy disrupted even when a car drives by! Buyer Beware *** Only a 60-day Warranty December 14, 2016 My Antenna stopped working 2 weeks outside of their unadvertised 60-day warranty. Signal dropped to almost nothing, yellow light on control box and antenna no longer rotated. At first I was told that my Antenna was only designed to rotate until a signal was found and then never again. After I detailed and pressed the issue I was sent some parts as a "one-time curtesy" that did not resolve my issue. My antenna is now in the garbage. Hopefully Best Choice isn't your only choice. NOT WORTH MORE THAN A PAPER WEIGHT. | 4% Avoid Antennas Direct, Inc. March 2, 2017 Antennas Direct = HORRIBLE QUALITY CONTROL. Missing the mounting base and parts. Had to return product and purchase another brand with better quality control. Avoid Antennas Direct. Missing parts October 8, 2015 This product came in the mail missing the foot component of the mount and associated screws making it useless to me. Find out if the diameter is right for your application first May 9, 2015 I clicked on this item because it was under frequently bought together with the outdoor antenna I purchased. Turned out the diameter was to big for the antenna mount so I returned it for a refund the description says 1" but it is actual about 1 ... December 16, 2014 the description says 1" but it is actual about 1.5". returned it since it will not match the antenna that I bought. NOT ALL HARDWARE INCLUDED... May 15, 2014 They sell the 40 inch mast and the bracket BUT no hardware to connect the two? How iis that right? The only hardware I received was to connect the bracket to the roof. (4 Lag Screws) When you buy a car they don’t give you the engine in a box and tell you that YOU have to supply assembly hardware. Never I mean NEVER again will I buy any product from you. EVER = BAD REVIEWI do not expect seller to supply the mounts for the TV antenna...But Mast (Pole) to bracket I would expect. Sent a complaint to the seller and here was their reply:Hello Mark,Thank you for your inquiry. The hardware enclosed by the manufacturer was the one enclosed and any additional supply needed you will need to find locally. We do not carry other pieces that go with this device, unfortunately. Thank you very much for your understanding on this matter. All the best,MikeJM Prime | 1% Looks fancy, but the ends did not stay secured ... April 19, 2017 Looks fancy, but the ends did not stay secured. Surprised me. Would not buy again and not using it now. DO NOT BUY February 11, 2017 Save your money, the ends pop off when you screw them down, they don't "BREAK" but the end pops off and your stuck with nothing. The old saying you get what you pay for fits right here. Spend a lil' more and get something that works.... NOT as described January 19, 2017 The part number on the box agreed but the label says it is Coaxial Digital Audio Cable - NOT RG6 cable for cable internet & video. I might not have discovered this, but I ran it through the wall, cut to length and tried to attach compression RG6 connector on the cut end. It does not appear to have tri-shield and the cable is much thinner than the openings in the RG6 connectors I was trying to install with a compression tool. Will not repurchase November 11, 2015 This cable does not work at all. When screwed into the outlet and into TV no signal will transmit. When changing to old cable it works fine. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
