Highly recommend
September 7, 2017
I highly recommend this for any one who needs a lift. After being bedridden for three years, I finally was able to have both knees replaced at the same time and this was perfect. Easy to install and use.
Riser for toliet
August 28, 2017
I bought this riser before going in for a total knee replacement. I looked at several before making my selection. I am happy with my selection & I would recommend it to anyone who needs a riser for a medical condiction such as surgery, ect. I am happy I chose the one with the handles. It is perfect for me after my knee surgery & the price was a great buy. I highly recommend this riser
Great purchase
July 17, 2016
Works great for 'easy sitting' after back surgery. My only complaint was that I've noticed it's moved around a little after two months use - probably due to the apartment toilet I have. Once removed, I'm not sure the old snaps that go over the bolts holding the toilet seat it will work but not going to worry about it. It's nice that the old toilet seat cover can be shut right over the top of this.
Perfect
March 28, 2015
Having bad knees, this works perfectly. Easy to get up and down without pain.
t work with the newer easy clean lids
November 16, 2014
It won,t work with the newer easy clean lids, you need an older seat that will allow the long bolts to go through. Otherwise the seat is wonderful
is very easy to use

Purhcased for my 94 yr old father, is very easy to use, easy to assemble.

helps taking shower
July 17, 2017
my wife is 74 and has trouble taking a shower. I bought her the drive medical shower chair to help. she says its a little bit too large for are small shower. she was able to take a shower while sitting in the chair. I think it will take a little time getting use to it. update 9/20/17. we have a small shower and this chair take up a lot of room. she said she had a problem trying to clean the back side. are shower is 35 x 35 inches.
Very pleased and completely confident in it's stability. Recommended.
June 17, 2017
Got this and set it up for my senior mom. Fits in her standard size tub perfectly and has a trustworthy stability. I also added one of those screw down clamp hand rails on the side of her tub and she can transition into the tub easily and condidently. It assembled very eaily and is made of a quality thick plastic. Was worried that it would be questionable but after putting it together and my mom trying it out, it is worth every cent. Legs screw in almost 3 inches deep and can't imagine any circumstances where they could break or give out. I wouldn't risk my mom's safety and this chair reduces risk so she no longer has to sit down in the tub which can be a chore getting out. Very pleased.
Easy to put together
May 27, 2017
Easy to put together, and a really great Chair. It has all of the things I was looking for at a great price! So glad I didn't go to the drug store.I have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. I am currently having a hard time, so I was looking for a way to make my shower safer. It has arms, many chairs don t. These make it much easier to go from sitting to standing. The legs have rubber tips. This baby doesn't slide. It also has slots in the seat, another important feature to me. I don't sit in a puddle, and I don't have to worry about mold. I highly recommend this chair, and am so happy that I bought it!
Perfect for post surgery
April 25, 2015
Let me start with a few quick facts. I'm 5'7 and weigh over 200 lbs. I had knee surgery and this chair is perfect for me. I found out about this chair at the rehab facility. They had a smaller chair but as soon as I sat in this one I knew it was for me. If you are a smaller person you can definitely get a smaller chair. The chair has 2 handles but I didn't use them. I highly recommend you get a long shower hose. I think mine is 5 or 6 feet. You can then sit comfortably and wash your hair. After a couple of uses I realized it was little low and bothering my knee. Then I remembered. I could adjust the leg height. I raised it 3 notches and now it's perfect.
Great Buy for smaller tubs!
February 28, 2015
Arrived two days earlier then predicted. Easy to put together. I did find the extending of the legs a little challenging due to having arthritis in my hands, but once I got them loose then they turned no problem. Very stable! I bought this specifically based on the reviews of the dimensions and fit. I have a narrow tub and have been looking for something more sturdier than a stool for my daughter, who is disabled. I have tried other bath seats and they are all way to big. This is a perfect fit
Good chair-would buy again
November 1, 2013
Good Quality, easy to put together, sturdy. I would buy again and/or recommend to a friend. The feet of the chair outside to outside at the foot base is 17.5 inches. My bathtub bottom is 18.5 (in the flat part, before the gradual curve upward) so the chair fits nicely.

Sturdy and steady...
August 25, 2016
My wife had a knee replacement and this has been a great, sturdy chair for helping her in and out of the shower. The suction cups on the in-tub side help keep it put, when transitioning and getting up and down.
Use two for a safe straight leg post-op shower!
August 6, 2016
This is way sturdier than the $100 transfer bench sold at Walgreens. I had knee surgery and have to keep my knee straight and non weight bearing for 3 weeks. Personally, I did not want to have my leg dangling down without the brace on it nor did I want to prop my leg up on anything that might tip or be unstable. Also, it is impossible to step up over the threshold of the shower when one leg is non weight bearing without hopping--very dangerous on a wet shower floor! I originally spent $150 and about one bench and one chair from Walgreens. After setting them up (but not using them) I knew it wouldn't work--- they were wobbly and it was not very secure looking. I ended up buying TWO of these benches for $51/each and I have them set up in my shower in a "L" shape. We took the glass sliding doors off and installed a shower curtain. Now I can simply sit down outside of the shower and slide in, place my leg on the bench and it is fully supported, then take off my brace. The benches are sturdy and fit nicely together to make the "L" shape so that my entire leg is supported. I highly recommend using two for anyone in the same situation.
Increases self-sufficiency.
December 16, 2015
Facing a lengthy recovery from foot surgery, I decided a shower chair would be the best plan for bathing. I looked at several but settled on this transfer bench because it straddles the side of the bathtub. I was not disappointed. The bench was easy to put together but I can see where it might be a little difficult for arthritic or weak hands so keep that in mind. Just be sure everything locks securely into place. The design of this bench made it possible for me to be mostly self-sufficient while my foot healed. I was able to use my crutches to get right up to the bench then plop down and slide in. Since I had multiple stitches and was not allowed to get my foot wet, this bench gave me the added bonus of providing a solid structure to rest my leg on while my foot hung out of the tub. Plus, I could slide back out and towel dry while still sitting which is a godsend when working with one good foot. Another great feature was being able to put the seat back and side rail on either side. I spent the first few days after surgery at my mom's house whose shower configuration is opposite of mine. When I got home, we simply reversed the chair setup and I was good to go. And the bench lifts out easily for when others need to use the shower.I was extremely pleased with this purchase. It allowed me a measure of freedom while recovering not to mention a modicum of safety. I would absolutely suggest this bench to anyone recovering from surgery or needing a bit of help into the tub.
The best gift ever!
April 27, 2015
Purchased this device for a family member after a serious car accident. It arrived in time for her to take her first independent shower on Christmas Day. This was the best gift ever! It is safe, reliable, and aids physically challenged people the awesome pleasure of taking a shower in privacy. Also highly recommended: 1) An adjustable shower head that is positioned just above the shower water knobs, 2) a bow-shaped shower rod for extra space, and 3) an extra long shower curtain. Cut the curtain up to the seat level on both sides of the chair-- fold the flap underneath the chair to prevent water from spilling onto the floor.
Transfer Bench
September 5, 2012
This product came quickly. Safety was our big issue and this bench is sturdy meeting our needs. I would recommend this product should anyone ask about it.
PERFECT SIZE AND STRONG !!!
September 2, 2011
I had a another one like this one (not as strong) but one of the suction cups fell off. Plus it wasn`t very strong it would move and creak like it was going to break when I was sitting on it. This transfer bench is alot stronger and I don`t worrie about it collasping under me. It fit`s perfect in the tub, I read one review saying it was to big, but he probally didn`t realise two of the legs of the bench stick out off the tub., that way you sit on the edge of the bench and slide into the tub. I would recomend it to everyone under 350 lbs. ( I weigh 245 lbs.) WORKS GREAT !!!

Great shower head!
December 27, 2016
The shower head installed very easily; they even give you plumber's tape! I like the very flexible and long hose, and the light weight of the shower head. I like that there is an on/off control on the wand. Be careful of the on/off switch in the handle. I thought my water pressure was low but then realized I had turned the switch on the handle! Ha! The three settings are adequate for my needs. My main concern is the longevity of the product. We'll see how long this one lasts. So far though I really like this shower head!
Makes bathing babies and dogs a breeze!
June 16, 2014
Purchased this right after our newborn came home from the hospital and realizing how much of a hassle it is to give a baby bath with just a cup to use for rinsing. This makes bathing so much easier and more pleasant. It is also great for giving our dogs indoor baths as well, because using a cup for rinsing in that situation is also a pain. The product was easily assembled by my husband. At first he thought we got a broken one because when he turned the water on, it only trickled out of the head. He quickly discovered the adjustable flow feature at the base of the handle and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use and adjust. We left out the red water restrictor piece, so if we wanted, we could have it flowing full blast with great water pressure. I love how we can adjust the flow to a gentler, more baby friendly setting.Another great thing is the stainless steel hose. It's not cheap, flimsy plastic like a lot of the other hoses out there. Sometimes wish the showerhead part had a stainless steel finish, as the white color does make it look a little cheap, but it does not affect the quality. All in all, a great product at even greater pricing!*UPDATE - 11/15*Product is still working great, I even purchased one for my parents' house so bathing our toddler there would be easy. A+*UPDATE - 9/17*From all of the flow adjusting that happens between a child's shower/bath and an adult's shower, we have found that the handle starts to leak. Twice now the handle has started spraying water out with force, which would normally signal a broken item. My hubby has been able to fix the issue both times, but due to the nature of the flow adjust (twisting the bottom of the handle), you end up loosening the nut inside the handle that holds everything together. Even with this issue, which took awhile to manifest itself, I think it's a good showerhead. If you don't have tools to fix the problem, you may not feel the same.If you found this review helpful, please click YES or HELPFUL below!
Purchase for my mother
February 7, 2014
I purchased this for my elderly mother along with a bath bench so that she could sit while showering. She said it took a few times using it to get used to a handheld (which she'd never used before) from a permanent shower head. Now she prefers this handheld sprayer. I also purchased the inexpensive suction cup held holder for this so that she doesn't have to stand up in the bathtub/shower to lather her hair, etc. She merely hooks it onto the holder which we suction-cupped within reach of her bath bench. Works great!
Nice product
January 31, 2014
I bought a $75 Moen from HD that leaked and wouldn't stay in place. I returned it. I decided to try this cheapo thing. How bad could it be? Well it's pretty nice. Install is a piece of cake (leave out the water choke as one reviewer said). No leaks. Holds nicely and delivers a nice shower. All this plus a long hose to rinse out the neighboring Jaccuzzi. Only wish, it had a nice brushed nickel finish. This was a good deal!
works great
July 1, 2013
I've got to be honest. The only reason I purchased the AquaSense 3 shower spray with ultra long stainless steel hose is because of the less than $20, price and I only wanted so I could bathe the dogs. But I actually like it. The longer hose makes rinsing my hair so much easier than our current rain shower- shower head. The 'longer hose on this makes it from my shower pipe in the wall to the end of the bathtub with about a foot left over without stretching so it worked out well when I bathed the dog and he ran to the end of the tub. The shower head is lightweight which is a plus for me.There's only 3 settings on this. The first one just uses the center holes so the spray is forceful and concentrated. . I use it for rinsing out the bathtub. The other setting uses the center holes and the outer holes so the spray in the center is more forceful than the outer spray. My husband prefers that setting, and the last setting uses all the holes equally so it's just a normal spray great for showering.Installation is a piece of cake. The give you the plumbers tape to wrap around the pipe so it fits snugly and doesn't leak.. I didn't recognize it as plumbers tape at first, because it's packaged to look like a small spool of thread ) There are large pictures on the directions showing how to put the shower together, but you can easily figure it out just by looking at the unconnected parts. There is a water saver piece. It's red and it's got tiny holes in it so it's easy to identify. I just left it off so I'm not sure how much it would interfere in the water flow from the sprayer. Without it, the spray is normal shower head spray. If you turn your faucet up high, the water pressure in the shower head is more forceful. If you prefer less forceful water, turn your faucet down. You get the picture. There is a piece that you can attach that allows you to turn off the water at the sprayer. You don't need it if you don't want to screw it on. The shower works without it.. I put it on and when I turned the water off using that piece the water still came out of the shower head but not a lot. It didn't completely stop the water but it slowed it down a heck of a lot so it didn't spray all over. That feature came in handy when I had to stop spraying the dog and soap it up. Then when I was ready to rinse the dog, I just turned the little knob again. This product seems like it might last a long time. The shower head itself is lightweight, but it appears sturdy. The hose seems sturdy too and doesn't look like it's going to break any time soon.I think it's a great buy especially for the price.. I've only used it twice so far but if I have any problems or if it breaks, I'll update my review and let you know.
Just what I expected
January 21, 2013
When I first assembled and installed this, I balked at the amazingly poor water pressure my shower now had. Then I came on amazon and read some reviews. A few other folks had the same problem. Then I did a little research (I did the whole process backwards, right?). If you assemble the sprayer EXACTLY like it is in the main picture here, you will have no low water pressure issues. There's a silver connecting piece that goes from the hand unit to the hose; don't use it. This is the choke on the water pressure. Once I removed that from my assembly, the sprayer worked exactly how I'd hoped it would.HTH

Very heavy duty to help you get out of bed
November 3, 2017
I just had major back surgery. We bought two of these and put one on each side of the bed in case I needed to switch sleeping sides. This is a high-quality product. I have pulled on this thing with all of my force and body weight and it has never budged. We are using it with our Tempur-Pedic mattress. Honestly I don't know how anyone could get out of bed after back surgery without this product. I am so thankful that my wife was so thoughtful to order these while I was in the hospital so we could be ready when I got home. They are a godsend.
Works Well For Me
July 9, 2017
This product is being used on a full size bed. The assembly was very easy and the adjustments were simple to make. We width of the device to fit the bed, inserted it between the mattress and box springs, then adjusted the legs so they touched the floor. Viola! It is sturdy and provides just enough leverage to assist getting into or out of bed.The product has been in use for 3 weeks and appears to be well built.
Excellent buy! Strong. Easy to install and to take down.
April 20, 2017
This is an excellent product. It's easy to install - it took about 10 minutes and I needed no tools. It's even easier to take down when it's no longer needed. It feels strong and the support that goes between the mattress and box springs can be adjusted so it's longer or shorter. I am very pleased with how well this is both designed and manufactured. I highly recommend it and can see why so many other people have given it high ratings.
Awesome
January 22, 2017
This is a great product. We needed to get something to help move around and get out of bed. We wanted to start with a smaller product and not go to the huge bed or ceiling mounted type. This works great, he can grab it and it helps him move without any assistance or shaking the whole bed. No permanent mounting to anything, securely fits between the mattress and box spring. I highly recommend this product and will share my experience with our support group.
Well worth the money.
May 28, 2016
Received this today. It fits perfectly and will insure I do not roll out of bed. I am a very active sleeper. Although universal in scope there are beds this will not work with. Pay attention to the measurements and adjustability of this device before you order it. It is simple to assemble and takes no tools or special know how. Very satisfied.Update: Have had this for almost one year. Still like brand new. Can't number the times this has kept me from falling out of bed. ( I am an active sleeper), One of the best purchases I have ever made from Amazon
Easy to Use Protection
September 2, 2015
My mother needed something to guard her from falling out of bed. She is not at the level of needing a hospital bed, so I needed something sturdy yet movable. This this option worked best because it comes apart and the padded top portion can be used to help the person stand. It's easy to move to either end of the bed since it goes under the mattress and the top portion locks into place with metal pins. I feel so much better now that I have that level of protection

Well built and easy to assemble.

Nice seat. Only complaint is the washers provided are plastic so it is difficult to get the seat tight to prevent slippage. A couple metal washers fixed it. Handles are sturdy.

Easy to use

Easy to secure on toilet, arms are secure but have some movement. Would feel better if I could tighten them up someway.
Pretty good product
April 10, 2017
Pretty good product. It does come loose after a while and you need to keep tightening it up. Also, you have to loosen it to clean under it which is also a pain.

November 24, 2016
i bought this for my dad who also had a hip replacement he is 79 now i bought this 1 years ago and i need i new cause my dad is not a small person and because this is plastic the seat cracked when he sits down on it i really do not want top replace this every year so i think they should try something else so the sit does not crack other wise it has worked good for him and he still has to use this cause he is not very sturdy on his feet
great product and very firm ( only will need flat head screws instead of round head screws that comes in the installation kit)
September 24, 2015
Great product, only problem is that srews that come along to install it (perfect lenght), they are round head, when they should be flat head, the original toilet seat I installed it ok, but before grinding down 3mm of the round head of the screws .

Sturdy shower chair.
July 28, 2017
Overall a sturdy shower chair but you may have to leave the handles off. Could be made deeper from back to front. It works for what it was intended. I think I will invest in a walk in tub though in the spring. Great for short term use though or if you prefer showers to baths.
Very large - check dimensions & measure your tub
June 7, 2017
Chair is MUCH larger (wider) than I expected. It only fit sideways in my tub (facing out), and then my legs barely fit in front of it. To be fair, the dimensions are posted. I just assumed it was small enough to fit in a normal sized tub. I expected to face it toward the showerhead with my legs in front of me. It is a well made chair, easy to assemble and fully adjustable. But check the dimensions and measure it against your tub! If you are a smaller person, you will do better with a smaller chair.
Too tall at shortestsetting
April 15, 2017
I would much prefer that it had a lower setting, as, if I am in the tub, on the bottom of the tub, it is just slightly too high for me to be able to push off and get myself into the chair. It's fine if you just want to sit in the chair and never get submerged, but that only allows a portion of legs into the water. If there happened not to be a shower (and I've lived places where there was not), it would be of very limited help. Are there alternate, shorter, legs which could be substituted?
NICE
March 13, 2017
I really like this chair for the tub/shower. It was really easy to put together. I noticed in using it, the legs need to be checked once a week to be tightened(see if legs need to be screwed back in a bit). That is the only "problem" I found with it. Delivered quickly and it wasn't over packed. I recommend the seller, would purchase from them again.
Safe, secure, meets all our needs
March 13, 2017
Works great. Snaps together. Made entirely from easy to clean and disinfect plastic. Very secure seat that fits perfectly in my standard size tub. Lots of hand holds which makes it very easy to use in conjunction with grab bars in the tub/shower enclosure. The guy who installed the safety features in the bathroom noticed it, said he's seen a lot of them and commented it's one of the best. A little pricier than some on the site but worth it.
Be careful as the legs become loose. Make sure ...

Be careful as the legs become loose. Make sure you tighten them daily. I had to use this due to having a bone spurs removed off my heal. I'm a big guy and it supported me with no issues but the legs coming loose after use.

For every leg injury!
August 3, 2017
Never thought that at 32 I would need one of these, but a car accident had a different idea. I have had several brakes and sprains over the years and I wish that I had this earlier. It makes getting in and out of the tub so easy! I prevents the shower curtain from being closed but a few towels on the floor helps. I would recommend a shower hose to accompany this, just to make it easier. I would highly recommend this for anyone with a leg injury! I currently am using for a dislocated hip. The one issue I have is that it is not level, but I doubt that it's fixable because of the large variety of tub heights? Or we could have just put it together wrong...the directions rival Ikea's...
Who wants to need one of these? But at least this one is very good!
June 9, 2017
Who wants to use one of these? No one! But my Occupational Therapist told me to get one when I went home after 6 weeks of post-op inpatient physical rehab. It has helped a lot to keep me from tiring or slipping in the bath tub/shower.The section of the seat that sticks out of the bathtub makes it easy to get in, but it turned out to be a handy place to sit when I wasn't washing. The bench was very easy to assemble and adjust, and is light but seems sturdy.I can't wait to get rid of it, but it certainly met my expectations.
Looks well designed for the purpose
April 27, 2017
We haven't used it yet, but it looks like it will work for visiting family members who need it. The legs were the only part that was tricky to assemble, as the directions referred to labels on the legs and sockets - but those weren't labled. Even so, there's only two kinds of legs and the photo made it pretty clear which ones go on which end. The legs did take a bit of hard pushing to get them into the plastic sockets, but then they slid right into place. I'd rather have them tight than wobbly, so I appreciated that. The suction cups grip well. The tricky part will be getting the shower curtain adjusted over the projecting part.
Replacement bench very good
June 30, 2016
This is a revised review. The original product had one of the connecting holes drilled in the wrong place, which defeated one of the security points. However, the company responded, asked me to return (well, I did have to call their tech dept and explain, and he told me to send back). Since Amazon prime, easy return and credit. And the replacement bench is just fine, very secure and stable. I was wondering if I should have ordered one with sliding seat, but this really seems sufficient. Since we have only occasional need, nice that this can be easily disassembled for storage. 4 star instead of 5 only because of the defect in the first one.
Good, but no advice on how to assemble or use it.
October 4, 2015
Instructions for assembly and adjustment not provided...fortunately, I'm an engineer. Once I got it set up right, I could bath my spouse back from major surgery with safety. One trick: Buy a cheap shower curtain; position the seat and adjust it, position the shower curtain inside the tub, then cut away a panel from the shower curtain for the bottom part of this seat that sticks outside the tub; if you don't do that, water will drain from down the inside of the shower curtain onto your bathroom floor.
Learn to use it. Then it's great.
February 23, 2012
We bought this transfer bench after my husband was in a bad accident and couldn't stand up. It is designed to straddle the side of the bathtub for sliding into the tub and ideally, to be used with a handheld shower. Two of the feet have suction cups. Those go inside the tub to give it stability. The bench legs adjust in height independently to compensate for the difference between the floor and the bottom of the tub and also for the slope inside the tub. You need to concentrate when assembling it because it can face either way so there are several variations in configurations that may seem right, but that won't work in your bathtub. It takes a little tweaking to get all that just right. You also need a really cheap, flimsy shower curtain, (think dollar store) that can be tucked into the little slot between the part of the bench that is inside the tub and the part that is outside. I chose one that had magnets in the bottom and was glad I had when we used it. The first couple of times my husband and I used it we had water all over me and the bathroom but we soon got the hang of it and it worked quite well.

Great buy.
September 18, 2017
Easy to install just like others have stated and I love how long of a reach it has. I wish it did come with an additional holder that could be attached to the wall at a lower level being that I'm short and it's a chore with my back putting it up in place and taking it down to use as a handheld. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars, I did leave the red piece out like others noted to improve the water flow. Still to I wish the flow was just a little stronger but can change the settings and I like that. I do miss the stronger flow from my other shower head but love ease of using this as a hand held.
Pretty good for the price.
June 17, 2017
Product is as described. Easy to install (provided your existing setup isn't to blame). The extra long hose is nice, we use it with our baby's bathtub, reaches far enough to make bathtime easy without too much excess. The middle setting isn't too harsh for baby and he seems to enjoy it. Would prefer if the pipe portion was metal, not sure how long the plastic will hold up.
Your mom will like it.
July 9, 2015
I got this for my mother, who likes to sit in the tub and wash her hair before filling the tub with bathwater. This handheld shower has a nice, long slinky hose. Plenty long enough to hook to the soap dish with the portable grip. The hose is stainless steel and quite flexible, being made with links instead of the stiffer mesh I've seen on some other hoses. There is an on/off switch to stop the flow of water while attending to tasks like scrubbing hair. The picture at the top is apparently of an older model that used a button. The customer supplied image is accurate: it is a twist nozzle now. If there are any weak spots in the assembly, that on/off switch will be your leak test. The water has nowhere to go but back out whatever spot is not adequately covered. And on that note, I highly recommend you to use your own plumber's tape instead of the straggly bit they give you in the package. Also, even though this unit is supposed to be tool-free installation, I recommend using a wrench to tighten the connections. If you want higher water pressure, I will chime in with everybody else to recommend leaving the red washer out of the assembly, because that red piece will slow the flow of water by quite a bit. The shower head itself is of a decent size and has the usual three massage settings: misty rain, hard rain and drill a pothole rain.
I CAN ENJOY A GOOD SHOWER.
March 1, 2015
This hand-held shower is adjustable three ways - focused pulsing stream, diffused but more penetrating streams along the outside of the shower head, and a softer, diffused rain-shower type of stream. The shower head can also be turned off (mostly) by rotating a shut-off valve at the bottom of the shower wand. I say mostly, because mine still allows some water to leak into the tub. This is a mixed blessing: I find the hot water accumulates and gravitates to the shower head, so when you turn the water back on you'll want to be sure to allow the water to run into the tub or shower stall for maybe 20-30 seconds to even out the water temperature again so you don't get scalded by hot water. I do very much appreciate the 80" hose, which allows me to sit at the farthest back position in my tub and still reach all my body parts, especially my back. I also look forward to using it to bathe my dog as soon as the weather warms a bit -- I'll be able to really reach her underside, which I couldn't really with the shorter hose my last shower wand sported. My water bill has dropped a bit, also, since using this shower wand because I installed the device that cuts water usage while still providing adequate water to bathe. The hose was very easy to put together and install -- without tools of any kind. It does not leak at the water pipe. I am very pleased, and were it not for what I consider a safety issue with scalding water would give it five stars. I'm not sure how the manufacturer could fix this problem -- it may just be a fact of hot and cold water mixing.
very good inexpensive replacement shower head
September 28, 2014
there are things i like, things that could be better. guess you can say that about anything you buy. well we love the fact this has the extra long hose that does not curl. often you will find inexpensive replacement 'telephone' showers, only to find out they have a VERY cheap plastic hose (colored to look like metal) or a plastic hose inside a cheap metal casing and as you may know with plastic tubing - it is kind of like a wire...after it has been curled into a circle and remained in that position for some time, it tends to remain in that position. that is true for anything manufactured and placed into a coil. but this shower hose appears to be real metal on the outside (probably a plated metal) over a rubber hose and the result is a hose that hangs perfectly down when the shower is in the cradle. many times with the 'cheap' showers the 'curl' i was talking about will cause the shower head to 'rotate' to face the wall or the shower curtain.things we love: long non curling hose, comes with the pipe tape for the threads so it won't leak (not yet anyhow), fits snugly in the cradle, assembles easily. water pressure is OK (don't put in the 'water saver' device) - but the disappointment in the pressure is probably our water pressure and not the shower head.things that could be better: only 2 options for shower. 1 is the traditional 'rain' you would expect. not sure what the other setting is supposed to be. maybe a 'water pik' massage setting? doesn't really work for us, but we are in an older home built in the 70's and the mains are probably on 1/2 inch and that results in a lower pressure. the other thing we did not like was the 'shut off' that comes with the shower. the box would indicate a 'lever' for an on off. what you get is a TWIST on/off for the water flow. benefits of the 'lever' kind? you can stop the flow with one hand. benefits of the twist kind? NOTHING. requires 2 hands to shut it off.overall, we are very pleased. only gets 4 stars because of the 'twist off/on' water stop on the shower head
Not that difficult but I wouldn't call it easy and definitely not tool free. but it does come with the teflon tape.
July 20, 2014
First off, the people who said you don't need tools are clearly stronger than meSecondly, anyone who said it is simple is more used to this stuff than me.BUT most importantly - it comes with a little spool of teflon tape so that is something you don't need to buy separately. On the other hand if you don't have a wrench - unless you are reallly strong and/or coordinated - you are going to need one.So it comes in pieces. If you are like me and think "simple" and "easy" means "just screw one part on" then know that it isn't quite that simple or easy. There are four main parts and three what I think are washers and one screen type of thing. I'm not sure which connections require the teflon tape, I'm going with just the one coming out of the wall. All in all though it's maybe a half hour job. Unless you need to go buy a wrench and hope the four dollar one at the drugstore is good enough. All in all, it's doable. Don't really expect it to last forever but for the price if I can get a couple of years out of it I'll consider it a deal.

July 21, 2017
The bed we have does not have a box springs unit so the item was a little tall for the bed, however we were able to take the lower section of the leg off and put the leg pads back on and it fits just fine now. It is very stable as it goes nearly half way across the double bed so there is no chance of it coming out while being used.
Measure first bottom of mattress to floor!
March 6, 2017
This product would have been fine, if only we measured from the bottom of the box spring mattress to the floor. Knowing that measurement would have helped us to make a decision if this product would have fit. The problem was where the horizontal cross bar met the vertical bar, left too much metal leg going down to the floor. Even though it has adjustable legs, it still was too high. My husband had to do some metal cutting to shorten it even more. Once done it was fine. A good product.
Customization needed for older bed
January 23, 2016
A little too tall for older bed frame and box spring, but cutting down was no problem with pipe cutter (have also done with saws in past on other equipment) and holes drilled for spring catches to be reinserted. Have tools needed, but if not, suggest this is well made, easy to assemble and install or disassemble and store, so worth having cut down and would ask at local hardware store as they may well be able to do so for you or know who to ask to do it. (I noticed others say it was too tall - and be too discouraged by that to problem solve to size properly.) Other than height changes we made, its perfect for our goal of a handle for debilitated person to use to stand from sit on a bed. Thank you!
Yet another great and affordable product from Drive.

Yet another great and affordable product from Drive. As a care provider for my dad who had multiple strokes, the ability for him to finally be able to get out of bed is a great relief. It would not be possible, and his recovery would not be progressing to the degree it has been, without this product. It may terrify you that your parent with disabilities is attempting things on their own while you desire them to be more cautious, but one can respect their attempts to recreate a life without dependencies. I am hopeful that makes sense.Cheers.
Sturdy very helpful support. somewhat limited in adjustment flexibility.
June 30, 2015
Relatively simple to set up. The bed hight adjustment is simple and strong. It would be helpful if something like a short threaded attachment on the bottom could be used to fine tune the final adjustment. The rails going between the mattress and box spring could be less intrusive that way but my wife is comfortable. What did bother her was the hight of the to handrail. She had me lower it to the level of the mattress so she could reach over it to reach her bedside table. This involved marking and drilling a couple of new holes inches higher to allow the sliding tubes to go down to the desired level. The result is a very sturdy helpful support.
Needs a little better design
March 2, 2014
Assembly of the high-quality pieces was a snap and my parents thought it was super-functional, giving them a hand exactly where they needed it. I had to take away one star, though, for something not obvious until you get the product: the bars that slide between the mattress and box spring is round - as opposed to flat - and lifts the mattress surpisingly high. We had just installed a new bed for the folks, and the healthcare worker who observed the railing said that kind of distortion to the bed would void itts warranty. If you have an older bed or just aren't worried about the warranty, you would probably be very pleased with this product. Hopefully the manufacture will put a little more thought into this for future models.

We could never get it to stop sliding around, no matter how much we tightened the screws. The size and arm rests were good. Then it rusted on, which I was not happy about.
Hard to clean

Very difficult to clean between the seat and toilet. It is handy for my husband to get up using the handrails. Because it's so hard to clean, it seems bad.
PROBLEM MOUNTING ELEVATOR
May 12, 2017
I bought this for our round toilet having bought one several years ago for our oval toilet. I am having the same difficulty in installing this one as I did with the previous one. The previous seat , as is this one, had slip off hinges and the 3/8 inch diameter bolt furnished with the elevator did not fit the holes in the slip off seat. I bored them out to fit the bolts and when tightening them up, it cased the split slip on hinge to turn and spread the split slip on hinge. To mount the previous one I had to buy a new seat without the slip off hinges. The new seat hinges just have a closed round hole in the hinges. As to the bolt I had to get new stainless steel bolts long enough to go through the hinges and through the elevator. Problem, Lowes did not have bolts that long. So I bought the longest 1/4 inch bolt, about 2- 2 1/2 inches long. a 6 inch long stainless steel threaded rod and a stainless steel coupling nut. That is a nut about 1 1/2 inches long. With this I mounted the seat and it has not moved. I am intending to but a Kohler K 4648 seat and se the same connection process. Also between the elevator and the toilet bowl I placed several of those anti slip strips you put on the bottomof a tub or shower.

Not a tight fit, Unable to have it hold properly.
Disappointed
October 27, 2016
The idea is good and it is sturdy and comfortable. Trouble is the screws loosen each time you use it and the whole seat moves around. I keep a screwdriver in the bathroom and hope it doesn't fall off completely. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? The screws are about 2 inches long so it's odd that they won't tighten properly.

Customizable, wide, legs sometime loosen up
September 24, 2017
I ordered this for my mother in August 2016, so she has been using it for a little over a year. It is still in good condition. She was using a stool before which had no rubber at the bottom and too low to the ground. It was going to be dangerous to continue using. I decided to browse on Amazon and I found this one. She leaves this chair in the tub 24/7. It fits our standard tub perfectly with no room to spare on the sides. The chair is bigger than I expected but I am a petite woman so most things are large to me. I didn't install the back or the handles. It is customizable which is great. Compared to some other medical chairs, it is cheaper in cost. Some minor complaints is that the legs sometime loosen up from when we move the chair forward or back so I would have to adjust the legs again from time to time or else it'll wobble. Another problem is that it does mold in the cracks/slits of the legs where it has the number levels. Something we would have to constantly clean. If something happens to this chair in the future, I would probably try a different chair.
Works ok, but prone to breakage
September 4, 2017
It was working just fine, but for the first few weeks, you MUST tighten the legs to the seat with EVERY use. Then, one day as I was moving it in the shower, the whole leg fell apart. I was able to piece and glue it back together, but for an item for the handicapped, one expects a better performance.
It is also no where near as sturdy as the metal legs shower seats
August 12, 2017
I purchased this chair because it has no metal to rust. The legs screw in instead of being bolted in; however, they will not stay secure. Every other shower you have to tighten the legs down. It is also no where near as sturdy as the metal legs shower seats.
I like that you can adjust the high
March 21, 2017
I like that you can adjust the high, but it frustrates me that every other day I am re tightening the legs. I don't know how the legs keep loosening up. As a safety precaution, before you sit on you chair, please make sure the legs are tightened.
a ;ittle massive to use at home.
November 18, 2016
This is a very well made and sturdy chair that could be a big help to people like me with some (temporary) balance issues. The reason for a lowish rating is the size. It is much bigger than you may picture. Since we have a separate and pretty large stall shower it seemed perfect for me since I was looking at two months of unsteadiness standing. This chair took up so much of the shower space, I was more afraid of falling while trying to stand near it before sitting down. Great chair if you can easily accommodate its bulk.
Okay chair, but legs come unscrewed on their own
August 27, 2016
Nice chair; it holds the weight it's supposed to, but the legs keep coming unscrewed on there own without much effort. My sister is recovering from a leg injury and keeps the chair pretty much stationary in the kitchen, but for some reason the legs keep coming unscrewed, I put the legs on myself and even stuck a long screwdriver in the holes to give me some torque, but I went to see her two days ago and one leg was just sitting in the socket. If you get this chair, just be mindful of the legs.P.S - I have the height of the chair at the highest it will go. Not sure if that means anything, but I figured I'd throw that out there.

Plastic Tub Transfer Bench with Adjustable... It works very well and my husband was able to get into and out of the bath tub easily. It is big and bulky and our bath room is small so I have to store it upside down in the tub so that we can use the toilet and move it to another room for others to use the bath tub. I wish that the legs some how folded in with out losing stability so that I could store it until it is needed and it is needed.
I would recommend having two people work together to assemble this item
June 27, 2016
I think the basic item is four or five stars, but I gave it a lower rating because putting it together was a real hassle. First, as others have noticed, you have to be careful about which legs go on which side, which is not very clear in the instructions. Basically, the legs with suction cups will go inside the tub, which means they are on the side where the handles goes, but putting the legs in is step #1 and putting the handle in comes later, so you may not notice which side is which. That would be a relatively minor problem if it didn't require so much force to get the legs in and out of their sockets. For two of the four legs, I had to lean on them with my whole body to get them in far enough (and then pull with all my might to get them out when I learned they were on the wrong side). Personally, I would recommend having two people work together to assemble this item. One more note is that the suction cups are quite strong (which is a good thing), but be sure you put it the proper location the first time around, because lifting the suction cups to move it is another hassle.
Well built but TOO BIG
December 13, 2015
We bought this bench at the suggestion of the Physical Therapist for my Mom. I have the following thoughts:Pros:Well built, sturdy, adjustable. Looks like it would last a long time. Would make tub entry easier for those who can not lift their feet.Cons:TOO BIG for our standard tub/shower combination. No good way to use shower curtain to keep water off the floor.
Part broken, instructions are terrible
October 26, 2015
I bought this for my husband (brain aneurysm, subsequent stroke). I would never claim that I am handy, but I'm not an idiot. I can assemble things with no screws, only push pins. One leg's push pin is broken right out of the package. It's stuck in the 'pushed' position. With some work, I got this to the right height. It's by the grace of God I didn't throw this out the window during assembly. If the instructions go to the trouble of saying "part marked A" then here is a thought, MARK THE PART WITH AN A - either on the part itself or in the list of parts in the instructions. He comes home tomorrow and I don't have time to return this and buy a new one. This may still go back after a trip to the local medical supply store.
Did the job. But not the best out there.
February 7, 2015
Bought this for my 90 year old grandfather who is visiting for a couple of weeks.Pros : Easy to assemble. Reversible so that it can fit in any bathtub orientation. Sturdy. The handle bar is convenient enough to get up. Easy to sit and slide into the tub.Cons : It's a little big for most tubs. If your tub is regular sized (about 2' 6") and has rounded bottom edges, then the suction cups will not fit properly. This is because you're trying to get as much of the bench inside the tub as possible, so that you can have your slit shower curtain slide through the gap in the seat. But it's still stable enough for my grandfather when you rest the suction cups on the rounded edge and adjust the height of the outer legs to level off.

December 20, 2015
I purchased this item for my elderly mom. Looks like the shut off mechanism is defective because the water does not completely turn off. I tried adding plumbers tape but its not leaking from the base or knob. Water just continues to run slower from the sprayer. The water should completely turn off according to the item description. Would like the manufacturer to reach out to me. Maybe it needs a replacement part. What a shame. Would be great if it works as intended.
I would invest in something better.
January 5, 2015
I wanted to wait a month or two before reviewing this product so that I could see if it is durable. I'm giving it three stars. The pluses are that it is inexpensive (and not a total piece of garbage) and has a long hose. The negative is that it has started leaking water near the bottom of the handle. I guess for the price I understand that it's not the most durable showerhead in the world, but I thought I'd get more than a month's worth of use out of it before it started leaking. If you're looking for something temporary and cheap, this is for you. If you're planning on relying on it for many years to come, I would invest in something better.

Works well, had to be cut to use on short bed.
November 3, 2017
Now that it's installed, it does work well. This is a much needed addition for my grandmother's room. This was too tall for my grandmother's bed, even on its lowest setting. I had to cut 1.5" off the legs and re-drill new holes for the spring-pins. It wasn't too easy to cut off, but I had a saw with a metal blade and I then used a file to smooth off the edges. I needed a long flat screwdriver, some long needlenose pliers, the saw, and a something to hammer/tap with.
"Un-returnable"???
October 8, 2017
Brought this for my 83 year-old mother. She looked at it and said she didn't need it. I attempted to submit a return for it and found out it was "not returnable." So, to my dismay, I asked a question (under the question submissions, of course) as to why it is un-returnable, and my question was deleted. I don't know what is going on here --- or why --- but I buy a lot of items off of Amazon and this doesn't make me happy. Beware!!!
Functional, practical and UNUSABLE for beds without box springs
March 21, 2017
This item is not configured for beds without a boxspring. While adjustments are possible, the legs can not be let down far enough for mattresses on platform beds or the European slat system. The packaging was entirely too flimsy to repack the item so we will be donating the item to a charitable resale outlet. Extremely disappointing since otherwise this seems perfectly functional and practical, just unusable.
BEWARE: May not accommodate non-standard mattress and/or box spring heights. Poor assembly instructions.
December 29, 2016
I bought this to for my mother to assist getting out of her bed. PROs: Construction appears to be high quality. Very easy to assemble. Good adjustability, but within a narrow range of mattress and boxspring heights. CONs: Instructions included are vague and assumes you already know what the individual parts are called as there are no illustrations. Limited range of adjustmentIn overall summary, this is a good product. In my case, there are two issues that kept this from being a five-star rating: 1. The poor instructions previously mentioned. 2. Narrow range of adjustment. For "normal" bed and box spring heights, this will work fine. In my case, I was faced with a taller than normal mattress and shorter than normal box spring and lower leg height. Faced with the choice of dealing with the headache and expense of returning a "perfectly good" product or voiding a useless lifetime warranty, I chose the latter. A hacksaw and about 20 minutes of my time removing 5.5" of height from each leg of the piece that tucks in between mattress and box spring. I deburred the cut ends and slipped the foot pieces back on. It installed perfectly and now works great. It was not clear from the product description what height ranges should be, so I am not sure I could have anticipated this before ordering it. I have no doubt I would have been able to install this with no problem if this was a more "conventional" mattress/box spring arrangement.
Not enough adjustment to fit low beds!
November 12, 2016
My bed is too low to the floor and there is not enough adjustment on this item to enable it to work as intended. I was able to take the legs completely off and flip it over and it is usable. Would be better if it was adjustable to fit low beds. For those whose beds are high enough for this to fit, it seems to be an excellent choice. Will most likely work great on 95% of beds.
Nice - But
March 25, 2016
Well made and easy to assemble. Unfortunately, the distance from the floor to top of mattress foundation must be at least 16 inches. Mine was only 12.5". Solved by cutting 3.5" off the support legs - but will require a little more "modification" to ever make it go higher. Seems to be very sturdy.

June 5, 2017
What moron designed the elevator. All that needed to be done was straight solid holes thru plastic for bolts to secure to toilet. Someone missed the memo people having a disability are using this. Moves all over. Only way to hold is silicone bead gluing it down. Look for better brand
Get the correct size! May be hard to install to make it stable.

This is not for an Elongated toilet....Make sure you order for your bowl size exactly. I was in a hurry and nothing in the headline said what size it was and I wound up with the wrong one. Also, The screws and system it uses for attaching to the bowl are a little wonky and it's really almost impossible to get a tight sturdy fit.

better to buy this product locally shipping to expensive.
March 1, 2016
The shipping was too expensive. I should have looked locally as I have seen the Carex Product everywhere now. I ordered oval and got round so we could not put lid on and it allowed the top of bowl to get wet and dirty. We were under a time restraint and had to use what I had.
A real half-assed design.
March 11, 2015
This thing was very poorly designed. It slips and slides all over the place unless you tighten it down ALOT. But if you do that, the front of the thing sticks up about two inches above the toilet bowl. So there's a huge gap at the front. With the force you need to use to tighten the bolts so the thing doesn't move, if a person were to sit on it he might do some damage. I took it apart one time and reassembled it, moving the included washers around to different locations. The results were the same. I read some of the reviews here, and the reviewers used two sided tape to tape the thing down. I didn't have that, so I used Velcro to secure it. That seemed to work. But now, I noticed when I tried to tighten up the bolts even a little bit, the toilet seat itself rose up above the top of the riser. So, I had to disassemble it one more time, to place washers between the seat lid and the riser. Finally, after four tries, I got it to work, at least in a half-assed fashion. What a true pain in the ass.The designers must have had their heads up their asses when they designed this one.

Not for me

This chair is unsafe in my opinion. I thought plastic would be better than the metal legged because the legs couldn't rust and break off, like the reviews I've read. However, the legs on this chair screw on and for some unknown reason become loose to the point where the chair starts wobbling. I don't use the chair every day, I just have it in the shower in case I need to sit down. It's non-returnable so I guess I'm stuck with it.

This is not a safe chair. My husband fell over sideways with the chair while in the shower. The legs are a 2 piece system and the piece that adjusts for height, wobbles on the inside of the outer leg. This chair was a great buy. It seamed sturdy enough at first but when my 170 pound husband sat on it in the shower and it popped, it scared us both very badly. The chair advertised being able to hold up to 300 pounds. The loud pop was the leg cracking. OMG if it would have fallen completely apart my husband could have been seriously injured. I do not recommend this chair to anyone, especially someone larger than my husband.

RUSTY WATER IS A PRODUCT FEATURE (without modification)
March 11, 2016
If you want to buy a tub or shower seat that will stand for years without modification, DO NOT BUY THE DRIVE™ TRANSFER TUB BENCH (item# 12011KD-1) FROM MEDICAL DEPOT, INC.Over all, it looks like Direct Medical planned to deliver a quality product made from materials that were suited to the application; however, dissimilar metals, water collection points, and internal steel parts are significant flaws in that plan. Dissimilar metals in contact guarantees corrosion. Dissimilar metals and steel parts in direct contact with water guarantees rusty water a few days or weeks after the first use.If you are willing to spend a bit of time and money on modifications, however, the Drive™ Transfer Tub Bench (Item# 12011KD-1) from Medical Depot, Inc, can be improved so that it will serve you for many years.DETAILS----------On Friday, February 12, 2016, I order a Drive™ Transfer Tub Bench (item# 12011KD-1) from Amazon as a Valentine present for my wife. I received the bench on Sunday, quickly put it together, and put it into the shower. The bench looked great and worked the way my wife wanted. In a review I read before buying the bench, the customer complained of rusty water draining from the bench after it was used, stored, and then reused. Remembering this review, I examined the bench for water collection points and for parts that could corrode and/or rust.Examination--------------There are three (3) areas of the bench where water can collect:• the inverted “U” tube under one end of the seat,• the leg braces under each end of the seat, and• the leg extensions. In particular, the leg extensions connected to the large suction cups (i.e., short legs) that are supposed to be immersed in a bath tub. When installed, the large suction cup seals the bottom of the leg extension. The bottom portion of each leg extension holds about one (1) teacup of water.Overall, I am impressed with most of the materials used in this product. The bench seat and backrest are made from plastic. The bench frame, legs, backrest supports, and arm rest are non-magnetic and look to be made from anodized aluminum tubing with plastic end guards and plugs. The screws, washers, and cap nuts are non-magnetic and look to be made from chrome-plated brass. The threaded stud attached to each large suction cup is slightly attracted to a magnet suggesting it is made from stainless steel. These are all excellent materials for a product designed to be used in a wet location like a bathtub or shower. The push pins are non-magnetic and look to be made of brass. Normally, brass is an excellent material to use in a wet environment; however, aluminum in contact with brass in a wet environment corrodes to form a fine white powder. Some parts are strongly attracted to a magnet. All of these parts look to be made from zinc-plated steel. These parts are:• Push pin springs located behind each push pin,• Washers inside of the small rubber tips attached to the long legs, and• Tube connector inserts located at the bottom of each short leg and at each end of the leg braces. A leg brace is located at each end of the bench, about 4” below the seat. A “tube connector insert” is a device similar to a nut that is pressed into the end of a tube or pipe to provide on-center screw threads. The device is also called a “Spring Threaded Tube Connector”.Steel parts used with aluminum in a wet environment eventually rust - even though the parts are zinc plated. Aluminum, zinc, brass, stainless steel, and even chrome are dissimilar metals that can react electrochemically; however, aluminum reacts less with stainless steel and chrome than with zinc and brass. Direct contact with water promotes the reaction between dissimilar metals. In the case of zinc plated steel parts, the zinc corrodes, washes away, and leaves the steel to rust.NOTE: I inspected all of the bench parts before use. All of the aluminum, zinc-plated steel, and brass parts were free from rust and/or corrosion. After two (2) weeks use in a shower, corrosion in the form of gray powder is present on ALL of the zinc-plated steel parts. White powder is present on the brass push pins where they pass through holes in the aluminum tubing. Rust is present on ALL of the tube connector inserts and some of the push pin springs. Because of direct contact with water, the push pins and push pin springs in ALL of the legs, the washers inside of the small rubber tips, and the tube connector inserts inside of the short legs show the most corrosion and/or rust.SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENTS---------------------------------Push Pin Springs-----------------------There are fourteen (14) brass push pins in the product - eight (8) in the bench legs, two (2) in the armrest, and four (4) in the backrest poles. A single zinc-plated steel spring holds each brass push pin in place. Because one end of each spring is in direct contact with aluminum, the other end is inserted into a hole in the back of a brass push pin, and the brass push pin is in contact with the aluminum, the contact points quickly corrode and the steel quickly rusts. Because of direct contact with water, the springs in the legs sustain the most damage.A solution to corroding/rusting push pin springs is to replace the zinc-plated steel springs with stainless steel springs. This solution seems to eliminate ALL of the corrosion between the aluminum tube, brass push pin, and zinc-plated steel push pin spring. Because I did not use the backrest, I did not replace the push pin springs in the backrest poles.Stainless steel wire that will work in the application is available from most welding supply stores as 1/16” stainless steel gas welding rod that is sold in 36” sticks. Each spring is made from about 5” of wire. Use bent long nosed pliers to form the welding rod into the correct shape for the push pin spring. Use the same long nosed pliers to remove/install the push pins and push pin springs.Water Collecting in the Inverted “U” tube and Leg Braces---------------------------------------------------------------Each leg brace is an aluminum tube with a slight downward bend at the center. A tube connector insert made from zinc-plated steel is pressed into each end of each leg brace. At one end of the bench, the leg brace ends are connected with screws that go through leg receptacles and through the armrest receptacles. At the other end of the bench, the leg brace ends are connected with screws that go through the leg receptacles and through each end of an aluminum tube that is shaped like an inverted “U”. Both ends of the inverted “U” are sealed with a plastic plug. The screw connections are not sealed against water infiltration and there are no obvious drains. Water can collect at the center of each leg brace and inside of the inverted “U” shaped tube, above the plastic plugs. Because the tube connector inserts inside of the leg braces are made from zinc-plated steel, they will eventually corrode and rust; however, because there is no direct contact with water, deterioration is slow. The only solution for water collected inside of the inverted “U” shaped tube and the inside of the leg braces is to drill a 1/8” hole in each plastic plug and through the bottom of the bend in each leg brace.NOTE: After two weeks of use in a shower, the only corrosion or rust showing on the tube connector inserts inside of the leg braces is on the threads. Applying “Plumber’s Grease” to the screw threads delays further deterioration.NOTE: After two additional weeks of use in the shower, no additional corrosion or rust is present on the tube connector inserts inside of the leg braces.Water Collecting in the Leg Extensions-------------------------------------------There are two (2) leg extensions attached to large suction cups (i.e., short legs) and two (2) leg extensions attached to small rubber tips (i.e., long legs). The short legs are about 1/2” shorter (i.e., one (1) push pin hole) than the long legs. A tube connector insert is pressed into the end of each short leg and used to attach the large suction cup.The large suction cups are solid and, when attached, completely seal the end of the short legs. Each small rubber tip on the long legs has a hole in the bottom that allows water to drain out of the leg. All of the leg extensions can retain water; however, because of the hole in the small rubber tips, rocking or lifting the bench drains the long legs. The only way to drain the short legs is to lay the bench on its side or remove and invert each short leg.Because the washers in the small rubber tips on the long legs and the tube connector inserts in the short legs are made from zinc-plated steel, those parts will corrode and rust. Direct contact with water accelerates the process.NOTE: After two (2) weeks of use in a shower, the galvanizing on the washers in the small rubber tips and the tube connector inserts inside of the short legs are corroded and rusting. There are two (2) options to drain water out of the short legs:1) If you have a flat file or a 1/8” round file, an inexpensive modification to drain the short legs is to cut drain holes at the point where the aluminum tube contacts the large rubber suction cup. This is easily done as follows: Remove both short legs, unscrew the large suction cup attached to each short leg, use the round file or the edge of the flat file to cut two (2) notches about 1/8” wide and 1/8” deep in the aluminum tubing at the bottom of each short leg, reinstall the large suction cups, and reinstall the short legs. There are two (2) rows of holes along each short leg. If each notch is aligned with a row of holes, almost all of the water will drain regardless of how the leg is installed. If the tube connector insert is too close to the end of the leg to allow a 1/8” deep notch, tap the insert slightly deeper into the aluminum tube using a small hammer and a wood or plastic dowel at least 5/8” diameter. To keep from tearing up the rubber where the notched aluminum tube contacts the large suction cup, a 1-1/4” O.D. stainless steel washer may be installed between the aluminum tube and the suction cup. Lifting or rocking the bench after use insures that almost all of the water drains from all of the legs. The tube connector insert inside of the short leg will still corrode and rust, but draining the water minimizes deterioration.2) If you are handy and have a few tools, a slightly more expensive modification is to replace the large suction cups on the short legs and small rubber tips on the long legs with “Rubber Leg Tips” purchased from your local hardware store. It is best to reinforce each rubber leg tip with a 1-1/4” O.D. stainless washer. Most hardware stores (e.g., ACE Hardware) carry a set of four (4) 1-1/8” I.D. (29 mm) Rubber Leg Tips that costs $3.00 to $4.00. I recommend using 1/4” I.D. X 1-1/4” O.D. stainless steel fender washers, but standard 1/2" I.D. X 1-1/4” stainless steel washers will work. Both sizes of washers are available at most hardware stores and cost $0.25 to $0.35 each.Once you have the rubber leg tips and washers, press a washer to the bottom of the opening in each rubber leg tip (a 6” length of 3/4" PVC pipe works great to press the washer). Finally, vent each rubber leg tip by drilling a 1/4" hole through the bottom of the rubber leg tip using the washer as a guide. The modification is accomplished as follows: reinforce and vent all of the rubber leg tips, remove all of the leg extensions, remove the large suction cups and small rubber tips from all of the leg extensions, install a vented and reinforced rubber leg tip on each leg extension, and replace the leg extensions.Because they will corrode and rust, the tube connector inserts may be removed from the short legs. The easiest way to do this is by tapping each insert into the aluminum tube until it comes out through the plastic guard. That is, drive the insert further into the aluminum tube, past the push pin holes, and through the plastic guard using a small hammer and a long wood or plastic dowel that is at least 5/8” in diameter (The wooden handle from a “plumbers friend” works great.)Because the rubber leg tips do not normally seal to the floor, the hole in each rubber leg tip drains most of the collected water as soon as weight is removed from the bench. Again, lifting or rocking the bench after each use insures that most of the water drains out of the legs.NOTE: Even though I did not experience the problem, be aware that replacing the large suction cups and small rubber tips with rubber leg tips may allow the bench to slide. The suggested modifications may void the manufacturer’s lifetime warrant for this product. These modifications, however, may also insure that you never have to use the manufacturer’s warranty.None of these modifications addresses the issue of steel parts in the product that cannot be removed. The modifications will minimize, however, the amount of water that stays inside of the aluminum tubes to promote corrosion and rust. Only the manufacturer can address the problem of steel parts that cannot be replaced and/or easily removed.
The assembly was quick and easy. Beyond that it just doesn't work unless you ...
December 8, 2015
The assembly was quick and easy. Beyond that it just doesn't work unless you have a walk in shower. We expectedc to be able to put it half in the tub and half out while placing the curtain between the chair slats like others have mentioned. You can not do this because of the support brace that runs along the bottom side of the chair. This is not suitable for entry into and out of a bathtub.
Not what I ordered...
November 25, 2015
I ordered this because it stated the weight limit was 400 lbs. However, when I received it the tag stated the weight limit was 300 lbs. Luckily I am under 300 lbs but I specifically ordered the higher weight limit chair for better stability. Others should make sure you are getting what you want.
Not as pleased as we had hoped.
October 3, 2015
We are new to needing AIDS like the shower bench. Rehab place recommended this particular bench. The plastic suction cup like legs, the 2 legs that are in the shower constantly, leave marks like rust on the floor of the tub. It is all but impossible to keep water from the shower inside the tub where it belongs. We have adjustable shower heads but we have tried every possible shower head position with less than ideal results. The area of the seat that extends beyond the edge of the tub has holes for drainage but that only means it drains onto the bathroom floor. However, for the present time, we need the bench so I wipe up the floor at least twice daily.
This was easy to assemble
March 3, 2015
This was easy to assemble. The occupational therapist recommended it. I did read the reviews. But it did not work in my father's tub because tub floor was textured and had a bit of a slope. The 2 legs with suction cups would not adhere to the tub floor. That's why I gave it 2 stars.
Shoddy workmanship, incorrect instructions, difficult assembly
October 22, 2014
This type of bench (with the transfer platform) was recommended by my father's occupational therapist as being more appropriate for his particular situation.Assembly: First, the directions for assembly that come with this shower bench are not consistent with how the parts are labeled. I have actually seen this same complaint with other Drive Medical products. Fortunately, assembly was rather straightforward, after studying the parts and the photos of the product.Second, while everything else fit together well, I could not get one side of the backrest to fully slide into the receptacles on the underside of the bench (not with any amount of force), so the back is not 100% secure on one side. My father is not heavy and I think the back will hold, but this seems like shoddy workmanship to me.Size: The bench is quite large (probably a good thing for some purchasers), but the back side of our small tub enclosure is slightly curved, so because of the angled legs on the handrest side, the bench does not extend as far into the tub as I would like. Perhaps there is a design reason for this that will reveal itself later.Use: We haven't used the bench yet. I will update the review when the bench has been used.

bought this for my beach house. The shower head is fine but the cable is completed rusted. not sure if it would rust in a shower however my outdoor shower it is almost toast.
Poor Quality - Two Broke in 4 years
February 5, 2017
This is a great price. I love that the hose is extra long; one of the main reasons I bought this. However, I've bought 2 of these shower heads in the past four years and both have broken at different spots. I thought that maybe I was just unlucky when the first broke but, sure enough, the second was of equal quality. This is NOT durable and one really does get what they pay for. I will not be buying another one of these shower heads.
cheap, didnt last long, no instructions
August 6, 2016
Cheap, didn't last long. Flimsy and started leaking at the head.I don't normally complain about the lack of instructions as most things are intuitive and can be easily figured out. However, the way this thing is put together and all of the parts that it comes with...they really should have included assembly instructions. I was left with a few extra parts of unknown use once I got the thing installed. It worked fine, seemingly as intended. But, what were the extra parts for? - I don't know...
Adapter needs redesign.
January 27, 2016
The adapter to which the hose attaches is poorly designed. The end of the hose that attaches to the adapter requires two washers and the flow restrictor in-between. When I tried to attach that end to the adapter, it would not engage the threads of the adapter. I had to remove the flow restrictor and one washer to get it to connect. Otherwise it works fine but this was very frustrating.
The cheap plastic holder is not designed to properly fit ...
November 27, 2015
The cheap plastic holder is not designed to properly fit the metal octagon connector. This allows it, the shower handle, to slide in and out, basically fall out, when the water pressure is beginning or fluctuating such as during a toilet flush or dishwasher beginning a cycle. So, inevitably it falls out and causes one helluva scare and mess to my invalid father who was trying to shower himself. As always, caveat emptor. Judge for yourself. I will purchase another product which is more suited to my needs.
and unscrewing this connection was enough to destroy the threads on the coupling rendering it useless..
September 28, 2015
Definitely get what you pay for, the fitting is *very* cheap (the coupling was already cracked upon removing it from the package). Definitely needs the included plumber's tape to avoid leaks - this caused a bit of a problem, as I did not put it on the joint between the hose and the upper coupling at first, and unscrewing this connection was enough to destroy the threads on the coupling rendering it useless... so, get it right the first time and you'll be OK. Got it to work by just hooking the hose up directly to the showerhead pipe, but now it's just dangling into the tub. Yay. Just got it as a dog washer, so this is OK, and I guess you can't expect too much for something so inexpensive.

Incompatible with low bed
September 20, 2017
The product description needs to include the minimum height clearance. This will not work with a typical low bed set up for a person prone to falls because of the too tall legs. They do not adjust very far hi/ low.And Amazon wants to say it is ineligible to return despite that its Prime and inaccurately / incompletely described. Pshh. Fix your listing instead of wasting my time trying to care for my mother! This would work fine on a higher bed I guess but not for many!
It would probably be ok if it fit my bed ...
March 2, 2017
It would probably be ok if it fit my bed but it was too high for it so I could not use the product. I brought two actually so that I could put one on each side of the bed. I did try it a night just to see how it would go even though too high for bed and hurt my hip as I could feel the bars. The other thing about it was the second one I ordered had two left pieces instead of a left and a right so was unusable anyway.
Not Ideal for Everyone
February 16, 2016
Not sturdy and not made for all mattresses and box springs. The legs at it's lowest still didn't fit my elderly aunts bed. She doesn't have a high bed, so this doesn't work. Also, when she gripped the handle bars to get out of bed it keep slipping on her. It would probably be better for someone with a higher bed. Not sure if this will fix the slipping or not staying in place issue, so I give it 2 stars just in case. No instructions on how to put this item together, fairly simple to setup, but not sturdy overall, material is hollow. Check weight requirements before purchasing and bed measurements.
Faulty Design Who Wants to Sleep on a Bumpy Mattress? Not Mom
December 15, 2015
I would agree this is one sturdy piece of equipment nonetheless after installing it I realized it was not good for the mattress as the bars that go under it are round and not flat and the mattress develops a terrible bump and lifts up. they should have called me for the design. Anyway who can sleep on that Mom was right even before I placed on her bed she knew that would not be comfortable to sleep on yes it was in between the mattress and the box spring
Hard to put together
October 27, 2015
Terrible instructions. No diagrams or pictures or labeled parts. Says it is three parts on Amazon but it comes in four parts. Looks very study. I will update review after trying it. I am really good at putting stuff together but I had to dig the box it came in out of the trash and study the picture to figure it out. And then I didn't realize I could snap off the little plastic brackets when initially putting it together. The directions just suggest doing that at the very end. Frustrating experience. I hope it works.
Minimum Box Spring Height: 16"
June 28, 2015
Minimum box spring height is 16" for this product. I did not see that in the product data. Top of my box spring is 15". To avoid an uncomfortable 2 inch "bump" in my mattress, I had to remove the feet completely. This could damage the carpet.

A wobbly, unstable unit: ((:!!

The unit wobbles and remains unstable, despite attempts to secure it with the screws provided. I'm basically ripped off...who returns a toilet seat? Buy at your own risk

Potentially very dangerous
December 2, 2016
Broke the second time my husband used it. He is 73 and on a blood thinner and could have had a serious or fatal injury. I strongly suggest that Amazon removes this chair from their available product list.

Listed as having a weight capacity of 350... I weigh significantly less than that and the seat broke after 4-5 uses.
This product is dangerous
August 14, 2016
Hazardous. The first one sent had a crack but figured it had been cracked in shipping so asked for replacement. After about a doze uses yesterday it broke in half with my handicapped husband dumping him on shower floor. Since he has a problem with his knee he cannot stand from seated position so had to call 911 to assist. The product is supposed to hold 350 pounds. My husband weighs just shy of 300 so I believe this to be false advertising. I called Amazon and got a man in Indonesia and asked for refund and was refused and told I would have to handle with manufacturer. Buy this product at your own risk. I will never buy a Drive product again
Broke in half while sitting on it.
August 6, 2016
I am well under the stated weight limit of this chair. After using it less than a dozen times it split in half while I was sitting on it. I was not doing anything to put unusual stress on the seat. Without warning, there was a ripping sound, and the next thing I knew I was on the shower flor. Fortunately, injuries were minor, but like a few others who have given negative reviews, I urge buyers to use extreme caution with this product. It's better to use nothing rather than risking spinal injury or head injury.
Split down the middle during my shower! :-(
November 19, 2015
I've taken approximately 5 showers with this chair and look what happened in the middle of my last one! Split down the middle. It also spilled and slid all over the tub when I was sitting in it. It's not safe at all. I want a refund.

2 legs don't ever stay in. Anytime it is moved they fall out. Haven't been able to fix it. And the metal holding those legs is bending outward because the legs don't want to stay in while sitting on it. And yes, I am well below the product weight limit.
Poor quality
July 30, 2016
The suction cups on the two legs are hard to release. One of them came off, staying attached to the tub. It was incredible hard to get the suction cup back on the screw coming out the leg. A week later it came off again and now there is rust forming inside the leg and left all this red color in the tub - very poor quality.
DO NOT BUY
February 3, 2016
I ordered this because I broke my leg and needed assistance while showering. It worked well for two months and then as I was getting out of the bench, the leg SNAPPED OFF. Thankfully, I was able to stabilize myself on the counter, but this bench could be very dangerous to someone requiring assistance.
Didn't get the chance to try it!!
September 29, 2015
This chair actually seems to be adequate for the job but I am extremely upset that when we received the chair the bottom extension legs weren't included in the package!! My mom was so looking forward to a shower after breaking her ankle and being non weight bearing which means she can't get into the shower without the assistance of the bench. I have put in for a refund for this item and reordered from a different company!

September 28, 2015
I purchased the more expensive $72 version of this and it looks no different than the $50 one. Easy enough to assemble but totally unsuitable for my 90-y/o mother who has very little mobility. I could not adjust this to fit securely, too shaky and unstable and definitely not sturdy enough (my mom is only 125 lbs). Perhaps for someone who is younger and has a minor injury it would work but there's no way I would trust this for my mother. Also, you cannot adjust the backrest to slide left or right. If you install the grab bar on the right, the backrest is going to be on the right and vice versa. I expected it to be adjustable to suit our needs.
Disappointed.
September 9, 2014
The item came with no instructions for putting it together. No receipt confirming the order was in the box. Just the bench and wrap.I need to check that all parts are in the package and then assemble. Disappointed.

This shower head leaks and spray, it was disappointing ...
August 27, 2017
This shower head leaks and spray, it was disappointing because I had been waiting for my son to install it for me. It comes set and there is no way to adjust it. It was advertised to have 3 modes and it states on the box, showing pictures of each mode. I contacted Aquasense to discuss the leaking and spraying and to hopefully discover how to change modes. The technician told me that the box was not marked right and there is another model that does have 3 modes but not the model I have. He said that he would contact the company about the mix up in the packaging. My son installed it for me, as I am disabled. I want to return it to Amazon but cannot do so until he returns. He lives in WA and I live in OR. He has been coming to help me once a month. He will be back the 3rd weekend in September to undo it so I can return it. I am going to request a return label.
All plastic construction with quality issues.
June 13, 2017
I ordered this and found that while it was easy to install, the flimsy product did not let any water through with any kind of pressure. I had to return it because it was defective. It's all plastic construction. The instructions were easy though.....
A Piece of Junk
December 8, 2016
I spent a half hour installing this shower head because one reviewer said it was good for bathing her dog. Bingo, I want to bathe my dog. After installing it correctly, a stream of water the size of a string came out the shower head. Hmmmm, I decide to remove the red restrictor which immediately jumped out of my hand and went down the drain (I know, always block the drain). Tried it again and got a water stream the size of a small straw. Took the thing apart, checked all the connections, blew through the hose, and tried one more time in case I was dreaming the first two times. I wasn't. This handheld shower head is a piece of junk (anything that doesn't work right is a piece of junk in my estimation). Don't buy it!!! Since I've lost the restrictor, I decided I had to take the hit and not return it--maybe the long hose can be used for something in the future or maybe I'll just save some pain and throw it all in the trash. I'm not a "review writer", but AquaSense deserves the bad review for this item!!!
Do not buy this product
November 5, 2016
I like that the hose is long and appears to be high quality. However I was not impressed with the plasticky fittings. From day one the seals were never really great, even with plumbing tape applied to the threads. A lot of tightening helped the situation a lot, but it still wasn't 100% leak free. I use this to give my baby a bath and turn the water to 'nearly' off from the shower head knob while I'm washing him. What's been happening recently is when I turn the ring to stop the water flow, it loosens the connection from the hose to the shower head itself and water starts spraying out from there. The on/off has never been easy to turn, so I'm not really surprised that it's happening now. Overall I suppose at this price you get what you pay for.UPDATE - Just a day after I wrote my review, the metal hose decided to break, causing water to spray everywhere. I take back what I previously said about the metal hose 'appearing' to be high quality. This is now a definitely not recommended product.
2nd Time I purchased new fittings didn't work... cracked after 5 days use
November 5, 2016
I purchased this product for a 2nd time because the first one I ordered lasted 2 years with no issues. The 2nd time they didn't send it with the proper fittings so I had to use parts of the older model that were still intact to assemple it properly. Then after 5 days use the wand part that connects to the hose cracked. I noticed other reviews that mention not having the proper fittings and reviews that took note of the different quality control on the product that gets sent out. This was my review for the first product that was sent to me.... had to change it so other buyers are aware:5 starsLasted 2 years..... just reordered another one because I dropped it for the 10th or 11th time and this time it cracked. my fault. great product.

January 8, 2014
Be VERY gentle when installing the adapter to the faucet pipe. It will easily crack...use the plumbers tape for sure or it will leak.I made it work properly because I took gentle care with the installation. I suggest looking for something else. The ultra long hose is nice though.

Can't return; not for beds with low box springs
September 3, 2017
In spite of its many high reviews, the item is not as adjustable as it seems. Be warned that if you have a low box spring or have mattress that's embedded with the box spring, this will not work.In addition, Amazon will not accept returns if you made the mistake of purchasing this.
Did not work
May 21, 2017
This item did not work at all. It was too tall for our bed and could not be adjusted to fit.
Waste of money
March 28, 2017
Upset with this purchase. this was too tall to fit the bed for my father in law (box spring and pillow top mattress) which makes it useless in addition to the fact that the company doesn't allow returns. I guess its my fault for not double checking the height but at the same time this should be flexible enough for all bed heights
Won't collapse short enough for the bed
June 29, 2016
It never dawned on my that my short little Mom (5'3") had an unusually short bed. It's never appeared that short. However, upon set up on the bed rail, the legs won't collapse short enough, so that the entire mattress is lifted off the boxspring. It's unusable and getting returned. Is there something higher end that would fit?
Flawed
June 23, 2016
Not designed well, only made for beds that are set up high off the floor. Set on the lowest setting and it is an inch or so from being level with mattress.
Very disappointing
June 2, 2014
We were very disappointed with this product. The bars that go under the bed are not flat but round so when you place it under the mattress, it does not stay in place. It seems to me, that the bars should be flat for better balance. It is not a product I could ever recommend. It was not helpful at all.
