Five Star Reviews: | 52% Highly recommend September 7, 2017 I highly recommend this for any one who needs a lift. After being bedridden for three years, I finally was able to have both knees replaced at the same time and this was perfect. Easy to install and use. Riser for toliet August 28, 2017 I bought this riser before going in for a total knee replacement. I looked at several before making my selection. I am happy with my selection & I would recommend it to anyone who needs a riser for a medical condiction such as surgery, ect. I am happy I chose the one with the handles. It is perfect for me after my knee surgery & the price was a great buy. I highly recommend this riser Great purchase July 17, 2016 Works great for 'easy sitting' after back surgery. My only complaint was that I've noticed it's moved around a little after two months use - probably due to the apartment toilet I have. Once removed, I'm not sure the old snaps that go over the bolts holding the toilet seat it will work but not going to worry about it. It's nice that the old toilet seat cover can be shut right over the top of this. t work with the newer easy clean lids November 16, 2014 It won,t work with the newer easy clean lids, you need an older seat that will allow the long bolts to go through. Otherwise the seat is wonderful is very easy to use July 11, 2014 Purhcased for my 94 yr old father, is very easy to use, easy to assemble. | 65% Highly recommended! March 20, 2017 I kinda hate to say that I love a toilet seat, but after surviving a recent emergency hip replacement, sitting on a regular toilet, all of which are too low anyway, was out of the question. This one is comfortable, the right height, stays put and feels stable, is easy to clean, and hey, what else can I say. ... this for my Mom and we are both SO happy with it August 16, 2016 I purchased this for my Mom and we are both SO happy with it. It is incredibly easy on and off - very stable and sturdy, and provides the extra height that was needed. Due to the extra height the opening seems a bit narrow and takes a little more effort sometime in the wiping arena - but well worth it for the benefits it provides. PERFECT FOR ROUND TOILET, SAFE, CLEAN, EASY TO USE. SEE PHOTOS October 10, 2015 Due to knee problems I was search for a toilet seat that would lift me about 3 inches. I was very apprehensive due to some of the reviews of this chair. Also the photos do not depict how it keeps from slipping off the toilet bowl. I decided to go with this one because I have a round toiilet and it was reasonable. The first thing I noticed when it arrived was it was a nice weight and very sturdy. The underside has a rim which extends into the toilet bowl about 2 inches making it impossible to slip. Also there are slip proof pads on the underside of the seat. I was amazed that none of this was shown in the photos. This is definitely ONLY for a round toilet. It fits snugly and is easily removed for cleaning or privacy issues. WELL, YA CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT! :) July 19, 2015 One of my mom's hip replacements was done about 14 of 15 years ago. The steel replacement had pulled away from the bone. Surgery was successful back then and helped her a lot. btw...yes, she also had the other hip replacement done...about 6 months apart. However, now her age and health issues mean that a 2nd replacement (replace the replacement) is extremely riskly, and her team of doctor's who take care of her have all said no to having it done. Someone who isn't disabled has no idea of the impact that all the little things make on our daily routines. I would guess that the Raised Toiled Seat is the #1 item on that list! This year she even took it with her on our family vacation, which was great to help her level of pain, especially when she realized it was just so hard altogether and made the decision that this will be her last year to go. To sum this all up, AquaSense makes one of the best Raised Toilet Seats. (You can even get them with a railing on either or both sides.) And it makes renting a trailer up in the Sierras much easier!!! :) Useful and Practical October 22, 2013 If you have had hip or TKR surgery, you know certain functions become difficult to manage. Most insurance companies send you home with a commode seat chair with insert and handles. Fine if you have the fanny of a 14 year old anorexic but most candidates for hip and knee replacement are older and tend to weigh a bit more than 80 pounds and have an ample caboose. This inset will make everyone just a bit happier. The added height will certainly be appreciated by those recovering from knee surgery as it's just enough to allow the legs do their job: lift you up. Great for arthritis! August 17, 2013 I have arthritis in both knees and trouble sitting down and standing back up. This seat makes the toilet the perfect height. It is also easy to pop on and remove, lightweight, and simple to clean. No more knee strain. Thank you! |
Four Star Reviews: | 22% Well built and easy to assemble. September 9, 2017 Nice seat. Only complaint is the washers provided are plastic so it is difficult to get the seat tight to prevent slippage. A couple metal washers fixed it. Handles are sturdy. Four Stars August 6, 2017 Works well for my wife. Don't know how durable it will be, have only had a short time. Easy to use May 14, 2017 Easy to secure on toilet, arms are secure but have some movement. Would feel better if I could tighten them up someway. Pretty good product April 10, 2017 Pretty good product. It does come loose after a while and you need to keep tightening it up. Also, you have to loosen it to clean under it which is also a pain. ... sit does not crack other wise it has worked good for him and he still has to use this ... November 24, 2016 i bought this for my dad who also had a hip replacement he is 79 now i bought this 1 years ago and i need i new cause my dad is not a small person and because this is plastic the seat cracked when he sits down on it i really do not want top replace this every year so i think they should try something else so the sit does not crack other wise it has worked good for him and he still has to use this cause he is not very sturdy on his feet great product and very firm ( only will need flat head screws instead of round head screws that comes in the installation kit) September 24, 2015 Great product, only problem is that srews that come along to install it (perfect lenght), they are round head, when they should be flat head, the original toilet seat I installed it ok, but before grinding down 3mm of the round head of the screws . | 15% Toilet help for bad hips April 22, 2017 If you ever need a hip replacement, this funny little aid will be a favorite. Your surgeon may warn you about sitting at a 90-degree angle or greater, and this raised seat will ensure you are more comfortable. Plus, it turns out installing a new, "higher" toilet only gains you 3 inches, so who needs that expense? You might not need this baby for long, but you'll be glad you have it. It is also easy to clean September 26, 2016 This seat's fit left some slack on our somewhat elongated toilet (15.5 inches) but thanks to an earlier poster, I used a pool noodle to take up the slack and now it does not slide front to back. Consequently, it is stable. It is also easy to clean. A good product that does the job. Also great for heavier persons! June 23, 2016 My husband is just over 400lbs, and this thing has held up very nicely over the past few months! I took one star away because the interior has a ring (where the manufacturer melds the two pieces of plastic together) that makes the product less hygienic. Because of that, you have to be conscientious enough to carefully clean the grooved ring which is a bit annoying. Because it also stains somewhat easily...I'll probably just buy another sometime in near future. If mobility is an issue, this is a great device! All in all though, this has given me the gift of security at I time I desperately need it. January 27, 2016 I have a problem with balance and depth perception due to neurological deficits. On top of that, I recently had surgery on my shoulder, which combined with my original problems increased the chances of, literally, falling off the toilet. We have two restrooms in our house. One has a toilet that is 17 inches high, but the one closest to our bedroom still has the smaller standard size toilet. So, when you add the medical difficulties AND the grogginess of the nighttime, a trip to the restroom is a gamble all the way around.Rather than changing the whole toilet, we decided to do the next best thing and buy a portable raised toilet seat. It has simplified my nights and my nightmares! The only problem with the seat is that it comes with a hard plastic lining that fits just inside the toilet bowl for security. Although this seat is advertised as fitting most standard bowls, it was about one inch too large to fit. In the interest of time and safety, my husband cut an approximate three inch section of the plastic out on each side of the seat so the rest of the plastic was able to conform to the toilet. It slipped firmly into place and so far it feels stable on the toilet. All in all though, this has given me the gift of security at I time I desperately need it. Just what Dr. Ordered... January 17, 2016 I m 5'10, 180lbs, past middle aged. Have cast to my knee following foot surgery and use crutches. The height of this seat makes it so much easier to get on and off commode. No installation to speak of, yet sturdy. Can't beat the price for this added convienence. Would have been 5 stars but I don't understand why the opening needs to be smaller than a standard seat. Works great. April 12, 2015 Needed added height for upcoming knee surgery. Would have preferred a larger hole but this certainly works and is portable. Will probably make a draw string bag to put it in so can take it with me. |
Three Star Reviews: | 11% The size and arm rests were good. Then it rusted on August 12, 2017 We could never get it to stop sliding around, no matter how much we tightened the screws. The size and arm rests were good. Then it rusted on, which I was not happy about. Hard to clean August 9, 2017 Very difficult to clean between the seat and toilet. It is handy for my husband to get up using the handrails. Because it's so hard to clean, it seems bad. PROBLEM MOUNTING ELEVATOR May 12, 2017 I bought this for our round toilet having bought one several years ago for our oval toilet. I am having the same difficulty in installing this one as I did with the previous one. The previous seat , as is this one, had slip off hinges and the 3/8 inch diameter bolt furnished with the elevator did not fit the holes in the slip off seat. I bored them out to fit the bolts and when tightening them up, it cased the split slip on hinge to turn and spread the split slip on hinge. To mount the previous one I had to buy a new seat without the slip off hinges. The new seat hinges just have a closed round hole in the hinges. As to the bolt I had to get new stainless steel bolts long enough to go through the hinges and through the elevator. Problem, Lowes did not have bolts that long. So I bought the longest 1/4 inch bolt, about 2- 2 1/2 inches long. a 6 inch long stainless steel threaded rod and a stainless steel coupling nut. That is a nut about 1 1/2 inches long. With this I mounted the seat and it has not moved. I am intending to but a Kohler K 4648 seat and se the same connection process. Also between the elevator and the toilet bowl I placed several of those anti slip strips you put on the bottomof a tub or shower. Disappointed October 27, 2016 The idea is good and it is sturdy and comfortable. Trouble is the screws loosen each time you use it and the whole seat moves around. I keep a screwdriver in the bathroom and hope it doesn't fall off completely. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? The screws are about 2 inches long so it's odd that they won't tighten properly. My wife had knee surgery and uses it. Be ... March 13, 2016 My wife had knee surgery and uses it. Be very carful, it is round not oval, A man will not fit on it but ladies may. | 7% Too circular to properly fit an oval toilet October 29, 2016 Says it fits both oval and round toilets, and while technically t does its very circular and my mother had to shove it to the bottom of her oval toilet so it wouldn't move, it was too small for her. Otherwise fine, the small curling lip underneath hooks in easily. DId not fit but duct tape fixed the problem. August 21, 2016 It gives the height needed for my mom, but it did not fit snugly at all. I duct taped it to the toilet so it wouldn't move. She has a round 1960's toilet. Cheap. Duct tape to the rescue. Okay... April 9, 2016 It's okay for a toilet seat riser. A little wobbly as it sits on the toilet. I have another one that locks into place and feels much sturdier (no movement while in place.) So, this is okay, but could be a tighter fit. (I will acknowledge that not every toilet seat is identical in inside dimensions so maybe double check size when ordering.) Great seat for the girls - the real story April 3, 2016 Ok, I bought this ahead of time for a knee replacement. Getting and down is tough so this additional height is great - but - this had to have been designed by a woman. I'm an average size guy. It fits the toilet perfectly but the ring is so thick there's no slot in the front for a guy to do his business. I suppose if you were built with something the size of a straw and 8" long this would work, but an average guy is in trouble. and it's not super expensive if you only need it as a temporary ... April 29, 2015 simple and no-frills. gets the job done, and it's not super expensive if you only need it as a temporary arrangement (I bought it after having surgery to repair a torn muscle in my knee, which left me in a knee immobilizer for 4-6 weeks).docking 2 starts just because it doesn't really leave any room for me to put my, er, junk anywhere. Bad fit for elongated bowls. October 22, 2013 The product is made well and appears sturdy; however, it did not fit our elongated toilet bowl snugly.I had to fabricate a shim from a pool noodle and place it at the back of the seat to make it fit tight on the the bowl. |
Two Star Reviews: | 6% With the handrails attached it wouldn't work for a large ... August 19, 2017 With the handrails attached it wouldn't work for a large person. Quite snug for me and I'm a size 16. Also the plastic riser is denying in on one side so not sure how durable it will be. Look for better June 5, 2017 What moron designed the elevator. All that needed to be done was straight solid holes thru plastic for bolts to secure to toilet. Someone missed the memo people having a disability are using this. Moves all over. Only way to hold is silicone bead gluing it down. Look for better brand Get the correct size! May be hard to install to make it stable. January 10, 2017 This is not for an Elongated toilet....Make sure you order for your bowl size exactly. I was in a hurry and nothing in the headline said what size it was and I wound up with the wrong one. Also, The screws and system it uses for attaching to the bowl are a little wonky and it's really almost impossible to get a tight sturdy fit. Description Wrong November 16, 2016 The product was fine except the description says it's for elongated toilets and it's actually for a standard toilet. better to buy this product locally shipping to expensive. March 1, 2016 The shipping was too expensive. I should have looked locally as I have seen the Carex Product everywhere now. I ordered oval and got round so we could not put lid on and it allowed the top of bowl to get wet and dirty. We were under a time restraint and had to use what I had. A real half-assed design. March 11, 2015 This thing was very poorly designed. It slips and slides all over the place unless you tighten it down ALOT. But if you do that, the front of the thing sticks up about two inches above the toilet bowl. So there's a huge gap at the front. With the force you need to use to tighten the bolts so the thing doesn't move, if a person were to sit on it he might do some damage. I took it apart one time and reassembled it, moving the included washers around to different locations. The results were the same. I read some of the reviews here, and the reviewers used two sided tape to tape the thing down. I didn't have that, so I used Velcro to secure it. That seemed to work. But now, I noticed when I tried to tighten up the bolts even a little bit, the toilet seat itself rose up above the top of the riser. So, I had to disassemble it one more time, to place washers between the seat lid and the riser. Finally, after four tries, I got it to work, at least in a half-assed fashion. What a true pain in the ass.The designers must have had their heads up their asses when they designed this one. | 5% Beware February 1, 2017 This seat slides off of the toilet easily! There is only about a 1inch lip that is supposed to hold it in place. Not substantial enough. I've had 2 falls because of this issue. AquaSense Portable Raised Toilet Seat, White, 4... January 30, 2016 Not very happy with this seat as it has some things underneath it which makes it sort of unstable (it can slide around and tilt a bit, making me feel that I might fall off). My 20 year old seat has no "additions" underneath and I've never had a problem with it. I would not recommend this one. Two Stars September 27, 2015 The opening is far too small for an adult male to get both functions covered at the same time. Helpful temporary device July 24, 2015 Must be careful when getting up/off the seat as it is a bit unstable and can slip off the base. Would not recommend for the severely disabled. Best if used near a wall grab bar or with a stablized medical device (e.g., walker) nearby. I fell and couldn't get up... January 1, 2015 I bought this product to use after total knee replacement. This seat simply sits on top of the toilet after you remove the toilet seat. It slides and doesn't feel secure. One night It slid, tilting me almost over. Thankfully the wall kept me from falling completely but I was in awful pain and my husband had to rush in to help me. |
One Star Reviews: | 9% Sliding seat elevator. August 28, 2017 The Toilet seat elevator does not securely fastened to the toilet bowl. Every time I seat on it, it keeps moving . I almost fell down when it slipped of the bowl.I need a replacement item, please email me on how to get another toilet seat elevator. A wobbly, unstable unit: ((:!! February 2, 2017 The unit wobbles and remains unstable, despite attempts to secure it with the screws provided. I'm basically ripped off...who returns a toilet seat? Buy at your own risk What a mess. November 22, 2016 I purchased this for mom when she hurt her legs. The hole makes it impossible for a woman to clean herself and if your average size its very. uncomfortable,Moen DN8070 Home Care Elevated Toilet Seat, Glacier Check out the Moen. The old version is on sale and looks easier to clean. Not worth it September 21, 2016 Didn't work with my toilet. Parts broke off shortly after installation. Cheap. needless to say not good for someone who needs support August 10, 2016 Had to return item..... kept wobbling on toilet..... needless to say not good for someone who needs support! | 8% Very unstable December 13, 2016 Very unstable. I bought it to use after back surgery and it wobbled a lot. At one point it came off and I was thrown off balance and hurt pretty badly only one week after surgery. Very dangerous. Do not purchase!!!!! Dangerous September 16, 2016 Very Dangerous. After hip surgery I tried to sit down on this and it flew out from under my rear end and nearly made me fall to the floor. Returned, and bought a Bemis which is a regular ... January 11, 2016 Returned, and bought a Bemis which is a regular raised toilet seat, not a thick plastic ring. Chuck (A lot easier on my hip joints!) ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN December 11, 2015 I ordered this for my elderly mother and it is an accident waiting to happen. It is unstable and does not stay in place. Wish I hadn't ordered this item. I recommend you buy something more sturdy that is not going to cause an accident. My mother ended up falling into the toilet when it slipped out from under her yesterday morning. Not the way to start the day. This might be fine for a taller person but for an individual who ... December 5, 2015 This might be fine for a taller person but for an individual who must transfer fron a scooter or wheelchair it is impossible because it is too high. Dangerous!!! May 16, 2015 This seat moves all over the place on the toilet. The rubber pads on the sides make it wobble front to back. My wife has fallen three times trying to sit down or stand up. It just pops out from under her! |
