This is perfect for my needs, which were something lightweight, easy to carry around and compact. I needed a music stand to bring to a Christmas party along with my instrument, and this fits the bill. I am able to unfold it and set it up in about 2 minutes and it's sturdy enough for some music. It comes in a handy little soft carry case. I don't think I'd be able to put a heavy book on it, but sheets of music are fine.

We were looking for a nice, light weight, and easy to set-up stand for the house. This is perfect! It folds up easily and stores in a bag, making it easy to carry along. It is also quite sturdy for holding the music books and sheets. I like the little extender on it too. My daughter loves the green color! We also have this same stand in red too. Bright colors! My kids are 9 and 11 and both love their stands. Perfect stand for us!

Our 10-yr old joined 4th Grade Orchestra, so she needed the various item for home practice. Not knowing if she'd stick with it, we looked for entry-level equipment with decent ratings. (The fact that this came in PINK was a big hit.)

Adjustment knobs hold well and have survived being dragged daily to & from the closet for several months now. Definitely has earned a 'bang for the buck' recommendation!

I got this for my 7 year old daughter who is taking guitar lessons. She is small and sits in a tiny Step 2 chair that allows her feet to rest flat on the floor. This stand fully adjusts to that low height! It is also simple enough that she can set it up and take it down as well as put it back into the carry bag it came with all by herself. And what a bonus that she got to pick the color from several choices! She chose the green ;) We couldn't be happier

This is an excellent stand that folds small, comes with a durable looking bag, and assembles/disassembles very easily. It is a little heavier than other foldable stands on Amazon, but it seems more sturdy because of this. There is also no cause for concern of paint coming off since it is a natural chrome color.

Update: This is simply the best stand and the ease at which it folds and unfolds is remarkable. I don't understand why I went through the hassle of using other inferiorly designed (even pricier) stands.

My daughter needed a music stand for her flute music and this was perfect. It arrived so quickly and she was delighted. It folds up nicely and is the perfect addition to her practicing routine! She is young and can still set up and fold it without any assistance. Great stand!

The perfect home or portable practice stand. Has clips to keep music from blowing away if using outdoors, and folds up to neat little package that's super easy to carry around. Probably will not fit in many woodwind cases, but might fit in some larger brass cases (i.e. tuba, baritone and trombone) that have large pockets. I've used stands similar to this from junior high band all the way through university bands.

Great product!!.. I have no complaints, it arrived quickly, was easy to set-up, and is much more sturdier than I previously assumed before placing my order. I am very satisfied.

My son's posture was really bad when practicing and the air management poor before we bought this stand. Which was really sad given the fact that his teacher said he was picking the notes rather fast in school, so I decided to purchase this stand for home. I was glad to hear him delivering a clean piece, not having to see him slouch, and see him proud of his work each day he practice. I love this stand in particular, once it is folded it is put away almost in plain sight and it bothers no one.

I'm very VERY impressed with the quality of this product. At this price, I expected to get a very flimsy aluminum music stand, but this thing is great. It's heavy, it's sturdy, it has a wide stable base. It's great. I don't feel like I'm going to knock it over by just changing my sheet music.

I found this stand on sale at $5, so my price was a bit less than it is now. I think it was probably some kind of Xmas cyber monday sale. But because of that, I jumped on it. I figured I couldn't go wrong at that price. And honestly, based on what I received, I would have paid three times that much. I'm not sure why others have marked this unit down, because it works just fine. The head IS adjustable, and the adjustment points DO fit snugly. One point, however... if you plan on using heavy books on this, you will be disappointed. I was able to stack magazine size books on it without a problem, but when I put on a heavy book, the head started to collapse (but even then, it didn't collapse completely). If, however, you just need to hold some sheet music, or a tablature book, you'll be fine.On top of everything, the seller got it to me super quick. Would definitely recommend for home use if you just need something to hold your sheet music.

Unfolded the stainless steel stand is able to hold several pages -- even their folder. The stand is not designed for holding more than a few pages, because the holders are not broad enough. Still, my eldest son said that that's okay.

These are good. Reasonably sturdy. You can only open and close one side of the music book holder at a time. So, don't think you broke it. Just do one at a time. Bought for my kids. Never used the carry bags, just end up folding the top in and they store well in any corner. Did check out the folding mechanisms when first purchased and works smooth. Came assembled. Would buy again.

Bought this for my daughter so she did not have to have her brother hold her music book whenever she needed to practice. It is well made, easy to setup and take down, and is very compact when folded. There are two metal arms to hold the pages in place, which is nice. My only complaint is minor, and this is that it does not feel completely stable to me. That's not to say that it is unstable but it did feel like it could be knocked over easily. However, for the price I am still happy and do not regret the purchase.

This music stand isn't bad for the price. I bought this in purple and love the color. I'm 5'3" and it's just barely tall enough for me to use standing up when I make it as tall as possible. That includes putting the legs a bit narrower than is ideal, which makes the stand tip over if I put too many books on it.

It's cheap, it's portable, and it comes in nice colors. It's not a high end music stand, but it works.

Good quality music stand. Nice compact design. A bit of an overkill on the packaging for shipping; it came in a huge box lots of paper and the actual box for it is maybe 2 x 2 x 12. Still, it was a paper and could be recycled.

Pretty decent for a folding music stand. Has rubber feet so it doesn't scratch stuff up. It's a little stiff but I bet after a bunch more regular use it will loosen up a bit.

It was as advertised for the price that it was it was a good deal, it folds down quite nicely and is made of a bit of cheeper metal but still works quite nice.

I was very happy with the music stand. My granddaughter uses it when she practices her cello. It is adjustable so she can use it when she either sits on an elated stool or a regular chair.

use it almost every day, very happy with it. the price is affordable, cheap, but the quality is good. I unexpectedly stomp one of its tool and bent it. I wanna make it straight with pliers but failed and left some teeth marks. so regretful. Afterwards, I managed straightening it with my hands. Would recommend it to any music lovers.

I bought this for my granddaughter..age 10. It is perfect for travel..I made a case ofr it which makes it even better. Easy to open and close. Sturdy for a student.

Sufficient for our purposes, but one of the adjusters stripped after the first use. So, it isn't "portable" for us in its current state. It's a simple enough fix but shouldn't be necessary with a new purchase.

A bit flimsy, but good for the price. Does the job for my daughter when practicing. I don't expect a collapsible stand to be super sturdy. Red color is cool!

This stand works, but it's very wobbly. Don't use heavy books on it, and it moves if you bump it. It does fold up very compactly so it's good for a traveling stand. But I'm going to replace it for a sturdy stand I can use all the time at home.

We bought this stand along with another one for comparison, and found this one less stable. It tipped over more easily than the other one, especially with a binder (as opposed to just sheet music) on it. Returning it would have cost return postage plus a 10% stocking fee--more than I paid for the item--so we'll just donate it to my daughter's school instead.

I like that I was able to buy a red music stand...however I'm a bit unsure of its quality as it just feels flimsy. And if I have a book on the stand, if the angle of the music holder part is tilted back it falls over...so I have to keep the thing upright. Overall I'm satisfied so far...just a little wary of its long-term durability. I do like, however that it came with a carrying bag...which I will probably never use...but you never know...

received in short order and looks ok for what i paid for it... only problem is that is it a dark pink instead of a red.... gave it to my daughter and just picked up a normal black one from the local music store..it has held up well with the abuse an 8yr old can dish out and holds the sheet music well.. my daughter even uses it to hold her paint by numbers paintings ...... the legs are really thin and was worried they would bend easily , but so far so good.....

It is pretty light duty, but you get what you pay for. Item arrived quickly and was just as described. It was less expensive than most other similar products available.

Thankfully I am short as I could get it stay locked in higher position but it works for me.

the lock for the height adjustment is very hard to lock in place.............

Not bad looking but can't hold my large lesson book. The top tips backward when I try to use it. Only good for sheet music.

It's just too short. Maybe it's my fault that I didn't read the specs careful enough. But it's too much short for a solo player who needs to stand while playing. (I'm only 63 inches/160 cm high.) Maybe it suits well for the players in a symphonic orchestra, who only play while sitting, or those cello/tuba solo players.Besides it looks a little fragile. The design of the neck means it can't stand too heavy music books. Again, it may suit well for orchestra players who use sheet papers.

Be aware that this music stands is somewhat fragile. The metal is thin. We've only had it for a few days and already one of the legs is bent. It is suitable for placing a few pages of sheet music on the support but not much more. My daughters music notebook with about 80 pages caused it to topple over. The height adjusts satisfactorily. It folds up and comes with a carrying sack which is convenient. It is just "okay" for the cost if it's used gingerly. But if you are expecting a music stand like you had in school, this isn't it.

I've used this for a little over a week now and it's a fine enough stand but it's very light weight, very flimsy and has a very small shelf for your music.If you're taller than about 5'5" this stand isn't going to be tall enough for you.When I say it's flimsy I mostly mean in the legs. They're very small and thin and can't really support this stand with more than a few sheets of music on it. A slight breeze would knock it over if you used it outside, it won't work on uneven ground, and on most stages, anyone walking by causes it to wobble.I won't say it's junk because it's not. It's a very lightweight, compact and highly portable music stand. And for that it works. But because of that super light weight, it's also not very sturdy or large enough to hold much in the way of music.If you want a super light, small and easily portable stand this is fine. But I wouldn't recommend it for anything beyond that.

I've played violin in orchestras and chamber ensembles for 14 years, since 5th grade, so I've used countless different folding stands. This one is mediocre and better stands can be found for the same price. This stand is not very stable; if you press on it it easily gets shorter; the little sticks that come up to hold your music in place hang down and look unprofessional; the plastic covering on one of the feet fell off after little use; and the carrier bag ripped after little use. I would not recommend this stand.

I assumed that any music stand I bought would be tall enough for me to stand while playing the violin. This is the first stand (I have bought many in the past) that is FAR too short. It is only tall enough for a small child to stand while playing. I'm a small woman - 5' 2'' and it is only tall enough for me to sit down. Also the bag was already falling apart when I received the item. Not impressed, returning it.

Very flimsy. Broke within 6 months. Pay a little more and get better quality especially if for young musician.

I'm not crazy about this stand. It comes in too many separate pieces. If it's just sitting in the house, it's fine. It's adjustable and easy enough to set up and take down. I use a music stand when I go places to play, and I have to set it up and take it down. Dealing with a bunch of separate pieces is a nuisance. I found a nice black stand that is all one piece, with large plastic screws that hold things in place. I take it out of the bag, loosen the locknuts, and it's ready to go.

Thought it ws nice and it looked like the picture. I was looking for something that was not too big nd the price was good. I would give it a 3 star

Had ordered a music stand 2 years ago from this vendor that was perfect for what we needed. Went back to the SAME exact order in my Amazon order history and quickly ordered another one (via the item link) thinking I would get the same thing as in 2011. Disappointed when it arrived that it was NOT the same one and does not have knobs for adjusting nor does the top fold down as one complete piece like the previous one we ordered (it's a removable piece). The top also does not adjust. Kept it to avoid a hassle of shipping to return at our expense (as per the vendor), but definitely not as pleased with it as the original stand we purchased. IMPORTANT NOTE! Keep in mind when reading reviews of this item that those reviews may be for the original stand and not for the one currently being sold. Does the job (which is why it gets 2 whole stars), but not as convenient for quick foldup and set up for rehearsals. We now keep this one at home and only use the other one for portability. Overall disappointed to have paid more this time around for a lower quality item in our opinion. I would have given 5 stars for this item based on the one I purchased in 2011. Different product this time, different rating. The reviews on here give an unfair assessment because many of them are old reviews rating a completely different item!

This is to hard for our 8 year old to adjust, ok if you never have to do that, We bought a better one with a adjustment knob and not just a lever.

I bought this to hold my 3-ring binder of music sheets. The turning knobs won't hold and the stand collapses on its own. Not a sturdy stand. It can't hold my music sheets or anything too heavy. Terrible purchase.

Stand very wobbly. Will not hold a thin music book without flopping over backwards. This stand is not usable unfortunately. Could only recommend this if you had 1 single sheet of music to put on the stand.

I really hate this stand. The two knobs that tighten the most important parts, for height and angle, just can't be tightened enough. It remains floppy and falls over when even lightly touched. I am going to try to return mine for something sturdier.

Cute, but incredibly flimsy. Putting any weight on the stand topples it right over.

I bought this stand because of the good price and the portability. Unfortunately, this comes at the cost of the sturdiness of the stand. I found that the stand failed my 2 basic tests. Firstly, turning a page of sheet music caused the whole stand to wobble. Secondly, I put an iPad on the stand, and the weight knocked it over. I returned this unit for a more expensive stand and am much happier.

Don't order this, middle piece got stuck and wouldn't move up or down, company won't stand by product, they indicated it is inexpensive, and advised me to just get another one, quite unhelpful, and didn't really care

If I could give it a minus rating I would. I bought this stand for my daughter and it never will stay up. We ended up throwing it away and her music teacher said it was a useless piece of crap.

smells terribly. very cheap material. lower part (feet) not adjustable, very low in max. height, only works for kids, unless you want to practice sitting.
