got this for my daughter as she is playing in her church again. Most stands can not take the weight of the hymnals, this one can. Very nice and sturdy.
Excellent! Should have bought this one first!
April 15, 2016
It was for my husband and he is wishing he'd gone for this one the last time he bought a generic one.

Great size and height to adjust to keyborads
July 23, 2017
I definitely recommend this stand for the price! It id not came damaged and it was very secure. My thick hymn book holds well and this is just hat I need for my keyboard at home. It is also not hard to assemble, you just have to make sure you screw it tight.
Solid

Works great for holding up Macbook
May 18, 2017
LOVE IT! I use it to hold my macbook up to read from during recording sessions. Sturdier than I imagined and build quality is good. It has a somewhat light center of balance so don't be knocking this around.
Sturdy and well-made
August 7, 2016
Very sturdy and solid. Love it. Am using mine as a podium to teach in-house Bible studies. Note: does not come with clips to hold music sheets securely. Not needed for my purposes.
Perfect for adults and Children
March 17, 2016
My son absolutely loves music even though he is only 2 1/2 years old. A while back he started to pull out my wife's large foam roller and grab a random book he would conduct and sing his little songs that he made up on the fly. I decided to get him this with a gift card that my friend gave me for my birthday. I can say that this thing can take a beating and still stand perfectly. When adjusted to the lowest point it is just his size we now have little concerts where he pulls out the Stand, a random book and sings to his little hearts content. His little sister loves to grab random toys and hit it with them still stays nice and black without chipping any paint off. I will be looking forward to a day when I buy another for me when I get my trumpet fixed. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a sturdy stand for practicing or taking with them for performances.
Height is Perfect for Adults and is Stable as Well
January 27, 2016
I purchased this music stand over 9 months ago and we still love it. As the name states it is heavy duty and holds a considerable amount of weight in music books. Not once has the it let loose and allowed the stand to slide down. The lip of the stand is 1 1/2" deep and holds a binder of music with no problem. The stand does not wobble around and in actuality is quite stable. It does not lean or move. We have dogs and now a mobile one year old who are constantly moving around the stand as my husband practices and not once has the stand been knocked over. The three legs have quite a large rubber end to them and do not mark our hardwood floors either. The main reason I purchased it was the height as it can extend to 58" and this allows an adult to stand while playing. As to folding it up to carry it we never do. I actually think that aspect is a bit cumbersome, but it is not something we care about as it sits in my husband's office at all times. All in all, this is a perfect music stand for our needs:1. holds music books or two pages of music2. holds a 1" binder of music3. stable and does not slide down4. extends to a good height so adults can stand and use it5. fold-able if needed6. great priceCons:1. not an extremely large stand (only holds 2 sheets of music)2. not extremely easy to foldAgain, this is a great heavy duty stand for the price and I would recommend it to anyone.

Good but accesory piece arrived broken
November 1, 2016
The product is good, especially for the price. Many of the music stands have an open tray but we preferred this type as it allows the use of smaller sized books to be used. It arrived with a broken protective cap (which is used on the end of each leg) and wasn't able to contact Amazon who was the seller, as no information was listed.

I wish it was sturdier, but it is good for the price. The feet protectors were broken or broke right away after I received it.

Best One I could find with a tray and decent price. Still though most of these stands are made of cheap pot metal and most are 20 bucks and up.

A good music stand. The page holders are just ok, but for the price and quality, it earns 4 stars from me.

Works great, only negative is the plastic lock collar. Plastic is not heavy enough, need to be careful when adjusting, or you might break it.

If it had a locking mechanism it would be perfect.
June 20, 2017
The stand I received does not have a locking mechanism for the legs, so if I push on the stand at all it lowers itself. If it had a locking mechanism it would be perfect.
Music stand sturdy but has minor isssues
March 15, 2017
Easy to figure out assembly instructions. Sturdy too. It is a wee bit cumbersome to work with - to adjust. lt seems the legs must be flat which makes the stand shorter than I would like it at times.
Some what of a pain in the ass.
January 18, 2016
The stand is very sturdy and I like it a lot but, it was however a total pain in the ass to figure out assembly. It took about 45 minuets before I finally figured it out , maybe I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but this was a little more than Irrating. I called the company and told them they should have setup instructions included. This was my first experience with a music stand. However it was a great price and it is very stable absolutley nothing wrong with the stand and the price was GREAT.
Works fine - but packaging of small parts could be better.
May 21, 2015
A little big to tote around, but it works for having a stand that's not a metal folding stand! I wouldn't want to take it apart to transport it and then put it back together, even though it's not that difficult to put together. I'd be more worried about losing the screws and nuts. When it came, there were no instructions on how to put it together. I had to figure it out. I feel that I'm not the brightest person in the world, but I did figure it out. I wish the screws and nuts came in a separate little bag and that it was attached to the stand or something. They were free-floating in one of the larger bags that a part of the stand came in. I was confused for a while on how to put it together because I only found one screw and the nuts, but eventually I found the other screw. But now that that's done, it works fine.
Not perfect, but still very good
January 10, 2014
Overall, I like this stand. I am used to lugging a Manhasset stand in my trunk for my son, so the collapsible feet are definitely an improvement. If I could redesign it, I would create a quick detach for the pole from the back of the music holder. As it is, I must keep the pole attached and carry the stand in a soft guitar case. Two bolts, two wingnuts and a washer is too much hardware to remove (and not drop and chase under chairs) every time I disassemble for travel and reassemble on site.It should also include a case since I assume that it is intended to be portable. I spent a day hunting for the guitar case solution and the fit is just so-so. I actually carry 2 stands in the case, so that shows what is possible, but it is rather heavy. You'd never toss an object like this in the back of your car, unprotected, without expecting either the stand or the car or both to eventually show wear.Later... After owning two of these for a few weeks, I have some additional comments to add. The bracket on the back side of the music/book plate is attached with rivets. It would have been far wiser to use screws with lock washers because the rivets do work loose eventually. Even so, the stand as a whole is still functional, but it just feels a little rickety that way. I think I will drill out the rivets and add proper hardware to the stands that I own.The second thing I noticed is that if you don't twist out the adjustment bolt far enough when collapsing and extending the rod, the bolt will drag and mar the paint.Even with the flaws, I am still happy with the stands, especially for the price.
Nice stand, no assembly instructions (see review for help)
February 2, 2012
This is a decent stand but there are no instructions for assembly, the only reason I am putting in this review is because there were tons of reviews saying there were no instructions and people either were stuck with it or other reviewers saying it was really easy. What I didn't see was any good explanation for those that are stuck. Let me also say, it really wasn't that easy to figure out, this is the first music stand I have ever owned so it wasn't totally intuitive. I am going to explain it as best I can to hopefully help others. There is the top part (the desk) and the stand itself. The stand has a pole with two holes at the top and the flared out part at bottom. The pole should go through the bottom with the holes at top, then you will need to add the round plastic ring that has an opening, this should go over the pole and the other long plastic tube should go over that and screw onto the base. This keeps the pole secure in the base. Also, the screw at the bottom of the base needs to be tightened. After that you can add the desk with the two screws, the one with the silver wing nut goes in the smaller hole and secures it and the other one goes in the larger hole and allows for the desk tilt to be adjusted.Hope this helps!

Because of how the post mounts in the base, the post isn't vertical; it tips to the side. There's no way to fix it, so the stand will always lean slightly.

Very hard to put together and doesn't fit my music book very well. Okay over all, but it has flaws
it's fine, but if I were to purchase another
December 1, 2015
I find this stand challenging to set up and just plain confusing. Last night I turned the tightening screw the wrong way and it came out. Getting it aligned and back into the hole was so challenging that I had to set my music on a chair while I fooled with the thing over the course of long rests during two pieces. Otherwise, it's fine, but if I were to purchase another, I wouldn't buy another of these, but would instead buy something with a carrying case and simpler set-up...no loose screws to tighten.
Fine for $20, but "Sturdy" is Pushing It
April 13, 2015
Fine for $20, but don't expect this to be built like the ones you may have used in high school or college. The stand is sturdy enough, but the steel for the top portion is not very thick and can bend relatively easily. It's not so thing it will bend by accident, but it's not going to stand up to any real abuse.
Not as good as it looks
May 25, 2013
Not a bad stand for the house. Fairly stable. The desk part of the stand doesn't come off without removing some screws though so its not as portable as similar style stands. Also, the desk is not well attached to the base and I can see it breaking rather easily. On the plus side it is much lighter than similar style models and the price is right. I'm a professional musician and I always keep a stand like this in the trunk of my car. I leave these at gigs quite often, so as a disposable stand that ill probably lose in the next year its pretty good. if i was planning on keeping this in the house for years I think it's just ok...

It's not very good...
January 11, 2017
Other reviews read things like "flimsy" and "unstable" aaaaaaaand so does this one...... I mean you can technically put stuff on it but that's sort of winning by a technicality. That being said, I don't hate it for holding my voiceover scripts but I would never let a professional musician in my studio use it for their songbooks.
Terrible, terrible, terrible investment for my music program.
January 10, 2017
These music stands are flawed. They are flimsy. The clips which manage the height of the music stand do not last. The tri-pod legs break almost as soon as they are taken out of the box. I would never re-order them, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone else. I bought 12. I'm saddled with 6 broken and I only bought them two months ago. Terrible, terrible, terrible investment for my music program.
Go for higher quality...skip these
November 5, 2016
These stands seemed great at first, but just 5 months later, two have broken completely. Honestly, the basic wire stands hold up much better than these. This has taught me to go for the higher quality deluxe stands in future....

Flimsy and Disappointing - You Get What You Pay For
July 26, 2016
Unfortunately this was a case of "You get what you pay for" or maybe worse. They were relatively cheap, but it was for a reason. As other reviewers have stated, the leg caps came broken. Sadly for myself I missed the return window since I didn't open them right away (that is my own fault and is not factoring in to my review). However be wary that if you are used to dealing with stands from traditional retailers (such as Sam Ash), this will NOT meet your expectations. They do not feel sturdy at all, quite the contrary, they are flimsy and feel like they will bend quite easily, particularly the piece that connects the stand to the legs. By the way, note from the product pictures that the angle adjustment is limited. We will see how long they actually last. Cheers!

August 12, 2015
These are decent stands. I would only buy them if you need something cheap or purely for travel. My main complaint is that the adjustment on the back for the angle of the music holder is pretty bad. I bought two and I have to prop one on the other or else it falls flat causing music to fall over.
Not so uplifting
March 26, 2014
I am giving it a 2 star because the stand is rather small, it's not that easy to fold up and setup and in the end there are others that are better than this one. For example the Pro-Line one is a better travel one than this one (granted at a much higher cost).I also purchased another one at Guitar Center which is easier to break down and it is larger and sturdier than this one. Now if you have one of those little wire one's that fall down when you look at them then this one would be an upgrade.
Arrived without all the parts as portrayed, stealth hardware
January 6, 2014
See those little bits of hardware over to the left side of the photo? Well they are not really there. Or better stated, they are not what they look like.Of course there is one great bit of hardware that looks like one of the bits on the side that keeps the base attached to the cradle for the music, and a bolt and a butterfly nut that goes somewhere, not pictured, I haven't figured out where. Then, on closer inspection I find there are indeed two bits of hardware that look like what is pictured. But those are NOT the hardware which screws into the cradle sides and holds the book or the sheet music in place.Instead reader, we are left on our own. Perhaps the manufacturer doesn't have a book that wants to close on its own, or has never performed outdoors where there is this rare phenomena known as "wind".I will be heading to the hardware store with the cradle to craft some remedy rather than returning the stand, as it appears to be a solid stand, dare I say, Not-with-standing?Make it harder on your customers. Great way to engender loyalty. What would a couple of finger holds added to the product cost? You drilled the holes thoughtfully. There are no instructions included.
The item arrived very quickly....HOWEVER
September 3, 2013
There were not any instructions included so I immediately contacted the shipper "music 123" to see if there were instructions she could e-mail me. I was kept on the phone for 25 minutes before the young woman came back on line and said she could not figure the assembly out, that there wasn't anything she could e-mail me. My only option was to have her "technical" support team call me. I asked how long that would be and was told, 5 minutes maybe an hour or in the next couple of days. This conversation took place over a week ago and I have not heard from them.Thank you loyal Amazon purchasers. They had the same problem, figured it out and posted the instructions on the review site.I gave 2stars because the quality wasn't too bad for the price. Would I do business with this company again..NEVER

Poorly designed
August 22, 2017
We've owned these stands for 2 months, and were out of town (not left the product at home) for 1 month of that time. 2 of the 3 legs broke where connected to the body of the stand while simply standing during a practice. No one was even touching it. Upon inspection, we see that it is very poorly designed, with the holes cut right next to the edge of the plastic, providing very little structural integrity to the connecting points, which are flimsy plastic.

August 7, 2017
We ordered this music stand and the packaging was basically made of toilet paper. I had no idea that cardboard could be so thin and useless. Opened the toilet paper layered "box" and the music stand legs were broken in 5 or 6 pieces! Basically anything plastic attached to this item was broken! Ok, so they just had a rough trip, so we request a replacement... ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? We receive the replacement item in the same flimsy packaging and IT'S BROKEN! The only difference in the two was at least the first one was broken pieces contained inside plastic bags, but the second!... tiny, broken, plastic, pieces slid out of the "box" all over the place! The metal tray? BENT! SMH, truly a piece of junk. Sorry.
Poor poor quality
May 2, 2017

Save yourself disappointment spend the extra $
January 22, 2016
I want to like this. I do. But I can't because of the complete lack of ergonomics put into this things design. It's very flimsy. Portion to set your music on is held in place by a bendable piece of metal (feels like aluminum) only about as thick as my thumbnail, and doesn't secure. It just kind of sits there. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money for a better one, especially since the packing job is abysmal. Nothing is secured and I had to glue and tape parts of stand's legs right out of the box. Do NOT buy this.

August 30, 2014
This stand is cheaply made. And the reviews on this item are confusing, because it seems as though they are referring to a different item than what I received in the mail. When taking it out of the box, I spent a good 30 min just trying to repair the broken plastic ring that suposendly tightens the stand at different lengths. Lol. It didn't work. I ended up having to go to Home Depot to find a replacement part, as I didn't have time to wait for another stand to arrive in the mail.
Must constantly adjust, doesn't stay as set
March 19, 2013
Stand doesn't stay in position as I set it, especially when I pick it up and move it a few feet from one location to another. The legs collapse, or one leg goes off kilter, and I have to re-position legs, straighten stand to level position, and re-tighten knob. Also the top knob does the same. Pole doesn't stay firmly in place and I have to re-position where I'd like it and re-tighten knob. Wouldn't buy this stand again for that reason.
