Got this for my dad for his Christmas gift. I thought it was going to be cheap because of the name brand but it's really well built.

Great saw! I used this for building patio furniture and it had no problems with cutting 2x4's all day long. Only negative thing I have to say like a lot of other is that the laser is about 1/8'th of an inch off
Excellent for the price
August 15, 2015
I built my chicken coop with it! Excellent for the price. My only regret is that I should have bought it sooner! Make sure you take the size of the blade into consideration when making your cuts. Also do some practice cutting to judge where the laser lines up and where the actual cut will be.
Fantastic saw for a great price
June 27, 2015
AWESOME! Cuts very precisely (I just framed a small house and this thing has been great and doesn't show any signs of slowing down). The set-up is really simple (maybe 2 minutes to reassemble the pieces) and it's super lightweight, making it easy to move/pack away at the end of each day. The laser on it is very precise and helps a lot with cutting exactly where you want to.

Well built. Great for small projects and torturing fugitives.
September 12, 2017
Great for torturing people. The 1 inch brads go right into hands and REALLY hurt but cause no lasting or life-threatening injuries. Get people to tell you EXACTLY what you need to know. Or build stuff like furniture, picture frames, small projects... whatever floats your boat. Hey, build a small boat.
Easy to use, doesn't jam.
July 14, 2017
We bought this to finish up some trim projects around the house. I had borrowed a larger named, larger gauged version from a friend for some projects and I liked this one much better! The other one jammed every 10 or so nails. I haven't had this one jam once. It's been perfect for what I needed. I expect a lot more projects in the future with this thing!
I was satisfied with it and thought I would try the nailer
November 18, 2016
I was looking for a reasonably priced 18 gauge brad nailer . I had owned a WEN grinder, polisher years ago , so the WEN name wasn't new to me. I was satisfied with it and thought I would try the nailer. I'm glad I did. It works flawlessly. One caution. There is an adjustment wheel positioned between the blue brad driver assembly and the brad nail tray. This controls the depth the brad driver pushes the brad into the wood. Try driving a few into a scrap piece of trim, if you are working with trim, and don't want to leave the driver imprint on the wood. Once I got the adjustment right for the wood I was working with, it does a beautiful job of driving the brad and not marking the wood
the best for the price
August 31, 2016
still have to get a stuck nail or misfire. driven more than 500 nails. the best for the price. shame that i can't find a 23 gauge pin nailer

update: absolutely happy with this. no misfires, shot blanks regularly though :) would be better if the nail window went al the way to the front. so you can see if there are still nails in de gun. searched for a WEN 23 gauge pin nailer, could not find one. what a shame
Great value. Very pleased.
February 15, 2016
My first brad nailer and I love it. Given the low low cost of this I was a little skeptical, but after using it on a project I am pleased. I made three drawers for a garage cabinet. The drawers are light duty so I used butt joints and glue. Brads were used to secure the pieces for the glue up. It's not a fine woodworking piece but it will do the job and I couldn't be happier. Wish I would have bought one of these years ago but before finding this I thought that meant dropping 100 dollars or more.

Very easy to use. Simple to load and very light. There are raised ridges in the magazine that help you add the brads in the correct location. The depth setting is easy to use and allows for fine tuning. Works great with Bostitch brads sold at all the big box stores so you'll never run out of brads. I have a 30 gallon compressor so it's tough to say more than the unit never cycled on. I would guess that even a small pancake compressor wouldn't run much with this nailer.

This is one of those deals that seems too good to be true. Maybe this won't last forever, but I could buy 3 or 4 of these for the price of one of the units at a big box store.

August 6, 2017
Excellent product I would buy it again, and recommend it to anyone who's looking for something like this especially for this low priceWorks exactly like it should be not much to say about it! It does what it's design/made for.I would recommend to a friend!
Great all-around tool for handy people
July 28, 2017
I had never heard of this tool, but my sister asked me to get one for a remodeling project we did. It's amazing. The easiest way to make sure things are perpendicular, excellent for measuring small spaces, great for drawing a line on a piece of trim before you cut it. Everyone handy should have one of these.
Nice Basic Squaring Tool
March 9, 2017
No complaints. It is a very useful tool and this one is adequate for my basic need for a straight line and help with calculating the angles. It is replacing a plastic one I was very attached to but all the numbers wore off so maybe this metal will be an improvement.
Exactly as described.
May 19, 2016
Square had a small cosmetic nick when it arrived but not the products fault.Pros: The yellow on black lettering is easy to read, and cut into the metal so it won't rub off quickly. Metal construction feels like it will take a few accidental drops. Can't beat it for the price.Cons: Not much to find fault with, the only thing I could see as a potential issue for others is that the notches for the numbering are a little rough and might scratch or scar a nicer wood project.
Quality Square
November 14, 2015
This is what you would expect from a quality brand like Stanley. I love how light this square is for being made of metal and it has held up very well in the several months that I've owned it. I'm a machine maintenance technician and my tools get a lot of use and quality is a big deal for me. This is one of those tools that is definitely worth buying for the long haul.
Can't be beat for the price!
October 21, 2015
I've only recently started woodworking, so in all honesty, I still consider myself the rankest of amateurs. That being said, this speed square has been one of my most used tools and is invaluable! I originally purchased the square to use as a crosscut guide for my circular saw (and for which purpose this little guy excels), but since then it's come in handy for making quick measurements while building tables and other pieces of furniture. There's not a lot else to say--this tool is straight, useful, and most certainly adds speed to my projects. Also keep in mind that if you receive a square that truly isn't straight (as we all know manufacturing defects are not impossible), you can use Stanley's lifetime warranty to get this replaced. I recommend this square wholeheartedly!

Does what it was intended to do...good value for the cash but like some buyers have pointed out the laser is pretty much useless. You don't really need it to be honest. I use it to cut 2X4 for framing.

Good basic miter saw
February 27, 2017
For the price, this is a good value. I have only used it a few times, but it does pretty much what I needed. Good cutting, but the dust collector bag is not that effective, capturing only about 50% of the waste.
Working on a built in bookshelf as my first DIY project and this saw has worked great for my straight and miter'd cuts
April 1, 2016
Couldn't give 5 stars since I've only had the saw for 2 weeks. Working on a built in bookshelf as my first DIY project and this saw has worked great for my straight and miter'd cuts. Setup was extremely easy and everything seems high quality.

October 7, 2015
The only problem was the bolt holding the blade was so tight from the factory the shaft lock wouldn't hold. I had to revert to the old 'piece of wood' jammed against the teeth to secure the blade so I could loosen the bolt and change to a finer blade. That is the only reason for a downgrade to four starts. Otherwise it would be five. I love it!

This Has been great for nailing brads. The reason why I did not give it a 5-star is it leaves a mark on your wood. I was able to get around with a piece of plastic and duck tap. No marks now.
Works very well. Quality piece.
July 9, 2017
Works well. Seems t be a quality project. Used it to build outside vegetable planters from pallets. Made the job of construction go a lot faster.
Good for the price.
June 27, 2017
It works and the price can't be beat. I did end up buying a new Bostick compressor that came with three different bran nailers. The difference in quality is obvious but if you are on a budget or you only need it for an occasional job, I do recommend this for the price.
Overall, happy with quality for price
February 26, 2017
This gun works well for trim jobs but not hardwood. The gun is not the right gage to go through hardwood. I was able to use it for certain sections and pound the nails in the rest of the way with a nail set but would not recommend it. Gun occasionally jams or fires twice but I think that was due to using it with hardwood. I found that when using it a lot I needed to keep it well oiled so that it did not misfire. Overall, happy with the quality for the price. Does not come with a case.
Great buy for the price
May 2, 2016
Great buy for the price. I've used this on different moldings and it works well. I don't have much experience with other brad nailers, but this seems like a good value. The procedure for loading/unloading the nails was a little confusing at first but other than that it works well.

Very easy and quick to use
May 2, 2017
I purchased this for use in building a bed for my daughter. The loft bed needed stairs and a platform, using a square to build the steps was easy.It worked very well with 2x4 and 2x6 lumbar to get things together. Particularly it made easy work of getting the stairs setup, measured and in the right spots. If you're using 2x10 or larger I suggest you look for a slightly larger square. You could probably make this work but a larger one would be easier to use. For 2x8 and smaller this should work perfect. My photo shows the square on a 2x6 standard pine lumber.I'm glad I purchased this and wish I had one to use with other projects sooner.
Great tool
September 15, 2016
A friend of mine introduced me to this type of square while we were doing some remodeling in my basement so I picked up this stanley version of the swanson speed square and overall i'm pretty happy with it. The rafter or speed square as a general class of tool is absolutely amazing. I don't know how i've never used or owned one before. Stanley's version is good solid tool it is missing the little teeth on the inside that you can use to draw lines at set distances along the length of a board that is part of the name brand design. overall i'm happy with this tool and will use it for years. If i was buying again i'd go with the swanson one just for that extra feature
Just one more thing on the list of tools we need to build some basement walls this summer, very nice square.
May 13, 2016
We bought a house with an unfinished basement, I was building a list of supplies we will need to complete some walls put up insulation make it more family friendly and most important not so cold in the Michigan winters :) The quick square was one thing mentioned over and over, I wasn't even sure how to use it honestly but now after some DIY videos and youtube help I realize once we build walls this will help us to make sure they are true beyond just the use of a level and to cut true stud edges, Inexpensive yet effective it was on the list which I am almost done filling and hope to tackle those walls early summer of 2016 ;)
A simple but utterly essential tool for small projects.
April 9, 2016
A simple but utterly essential tool for small projects. I use this almost every single time I am making cuts on a small project. The markings are clear and rugged enough that they do not appear to be wearing with use/abuse, as this thing does get knocked around quite a bit. Mine arrived straight and ready for use, which is basically all I wanted. I wasn't asking for much when I went shopping for a straight edge, and I have yet to find anything wrong with this straightforward Stanley product, except PERHAPS to say that yellow markings for measurements are perhaps not a good choice, as they tend to be a little more 'fuzzy' in bright light, which you hopefully have in your shop. That you're working outside in the daylight. Either way, yes we know your product colors are black and yellow Stanley.Stop making tiny numbers yellow please. If there were a way to mess this up, I would be impressed. And disappointed.Fortunately, I am neither of these things. Works great, doesn't bend, resistant to wear. Cheap.

The clamp is pretty useless too
May 10, 2017
Cheap. Get what you pay for in this case. Blade isn't sharp AT ALL... Definitely change the blade if you're using it for finish work. Cheap laser guide too. Off 1/8" and can't get it right on. Also, the dust catch is beyond worthless. The clamp is pretty useless too. Other than that, it's outstanding...

Good for simple cutting jobs. This is not a product if you need perfect edges..
Perfect weekend warrior saw.
September 24, 2015
Perfect for a weekend warrior but not the Delta of years ago. As a Union carpenter I'm used to the best tools. The fence was too small for crown. Auto stops were almost impossible to hit. They just didn't lock in for the standard miter angles. The saw dust catch might as well have not been there at all. I thought the bag was still unzipped but it was. Good for a homeowner but a craftsman will be disappointed.
Made with cheap material
June 13, 2015
I really wanted to love this saw...but it's hard to do when right out of the box the control arm snaps off from barely tightening the stop. It wasn't over-torqued as the table could still be turned by hand. Other than that, and the laser being off by just over 1/8" and I can't seem to get it to adjust properly, I have no complaints. The blade makes straight, clean cuts and the operation is very smooth. I guess you get what you pay for. Hopefully I can find an aluminum aftermarket part...if so, I'll be happy once again and will give it another star.
Good saw for the money

Ok Product for the price
September 13, 2017
I purchased the product almost a year ago and have had some good use out of it. Overall it is a ok product. The biggest issue is that it will not always engage and eject a nail. More times then not it will shoot two nails at one time.
Anything but 2 inches
June 26, 2017
OK first things first, it doesn't take 2inch nails that well. I use porter cable nails and anything under 2 works fine, When i try 2inch nails i get a lot of misfires and they get stuck in the slide.
It will just shoot like a gun
July 21, 2016
Beware that this nail gun seems to have a safety issue. It will shoot nails by just pulling trigger without the end being pressed against a firm surface. No contact is needed. It will just shoot like a gun. Almost shot a 2 inch brad through my leg twice.
Works ok. Have had some issues with it.
October 7, 2015
First one sprung a leak after 3 nails. Second one works, but it seems to fire two nails often. One pull of the trigger will sometimes fire two nails. Perhaps that's normal for brad nailers, but my cheap Harbor Frieght 15 gauge never fires 2.

Overall, It's a very good price and I would probably buy again unless I run into more problems.
Seemed solid, however leaked oil.
February 10, 2014
Seems to be well enough made, however mine spit oil when I used it. It seems to be hit or miss looking at the reviews. Returning the nailer was quick and easy, however I went ahead and got another type locally.

April 20, 2017
It's a typical speed square, but the edges are not completely smooth. Where the markings of the ruler are, it is grooved along the edges, so it creates a semi-jagged edge. It still allowed me to use my circular saw to run straight cutting some wood. But when drawing lines, it can be bumpy. I found some speed squares at Home Depot that were more of what I wanted and it was 2 for $7.
I prefer the Craftsman speed square
January 10, 2016
It's a speed square. It gets the job done. However, I ended up getting a Craftsman speed square from Sears. It's now my main one. It's also made out of aluminum, but a thicker gauge, meaning it's less likely to warp or break. It also have some features that the Stanley does not, such as the ability to scribe a parallel line between 1" and 5.5" off the edge of a piece of wood. What that means is if you plan on ripping a board that's 8 foot long, and need to take 3 inches off, you can use the Craftsman to quickly draw the cut line. With the Stanely you'd have to use a chalk line. Another plus is that Craftsman speed square is made in the USA, so you're helping your neighbor, while the Stanley is made in Tiawan.
Decent.
October 31, 2015
Decent. Don't use a lot because of large botton rail.
nice, color coded - solid piece of a tool
September 15, 2015
looks really good in my garage, will have to find a use for it soon when i decide to do something around the house. easy to read and nice size for most projects you can fathom
Could be more square...
September 9, 2014
I don't think it's 100% square. Many times have I found a slight discrepancy between this and Stanley's Combination T-square. The discrepancy also exists between lines drawn with this square and cuts on my miter saw. The "check" that makes me SURE it's this tool is after marking a line on one side of a 2x4 and checking that same line from the other side of the 2x4... they're always slightly off angle. Perhaps the paint or powder coating on it makes it uneven?

Thanks Amazon for your great return policy
August 16, 2015
After only 3 times of tightening the adjustment handle, the control arm broke. It is made of plastic and is far too flimsy for repeated loosening and tightening. Thanks Amazon for your great return policy. However, I would advise against buying this saw.
Good homeowner saw but far from perfect
August 6, 2015
I bought this to replace a 25 year old saw that begged for retirement. I originally was thinking about buying a slider but since I have a large table saw I probably would not use the slider feature very often. Also, the sliding saws are heavier and more difficult to carry. I checked out a few other saws but here is what I like about the Homecraft: Light weight (25 lbs.) but still feels solid and well made cuts well/powerful easy to align and use The laser was accurate out of the box although other alignments were required before use.Dislikes: Really cheap burlap dust bag. I cut a bunch of mahogany and about 90% of the dust ended up on the floor. My vacuum hose almost fits over the outlet but won't stay attached. The denoted stops are more like speed bumps - you feel them but its not easy to stop on them The clamp provided has very fine threads and takes forever to adjust It comes with a 24 tooth carbide tip blade. Although it cuts well you may want to invest in a 60 tooth for fine cuts.Update on 4/6/16 from 4 stars to 2:After using it for a few projects I have significant complaints:The dust collection bag doesn't seem to collect any of the dust. Throw it out and use a vacuum attachment or cut outside The stops (22.5, 31.6, 45) don't work well. It doesn't stay on the stop when you tighten it down; sometimes moving as much of a degree when tightened down The fence is very low, 1.25" in middle and 1.75" on either end which makes cuts of 1x3 or 1x4 on edge very difficult. The laser on my saw now only works intermittently and has to be turned on manually. If I had a do over I would go with the Hitachi

Would Not Fire
May 9, 2015
I've heard of WEN tools and they have a decent reputation. Everything was great about this product except after I oiled it and hooked it up to the air compressor, it would not fire. The amazon refund process is very nice, but I don't think I'll stray from my DeWalt tools again.
Disappointed.
November 3, 2014
I'm disappointed after reading the glowing reviews. I installed trim this weekend, and about 50% of the time, the brad remained 1/4 to 2 inches outside of the wood. About 15% of the time, two nails were fired: one went in, and the other stuck out. Pressure was always in the 80 to 90 range, well within the 60 to 100 recommended. I played with the depth guage, and nothing worked. Different pressure on the trigger didn't matter either. It's caused me problems with the trim, and a lot of additional corrective work.
... moldings) The gun it self is made and feels good. The performance is some what mix results
July 23, 2014
I have used this gun for about 1 month as of today in a professional way(2 to 3 day a week on trim moldings) The gun it self is made and feels good . The performance is some what mix results. Having used it with 1 1/2 and 2 inches nails it shoot fine except every ten nails more or less and the next one is left not sink in with the head sticking out, also it double shoots for no reason(not to may times but it does). For a home owner used this may be alright but for a trade person it is more inconvenience the it is worth it. I have and own other similar guns and have used them side by side and my others guns don't do this. I for myself would not buy it again.

May 24, 2017
For some reason, only one side (the side with the Stanley logo) is in square. I cut a lot of 2 x 4s before I realized that they were cut on a slight angle. But when I flipped the square over to the side with the logo, the line squared up.
Inch Measurements Off / Yellow Lettering Blotchy
July 25, 2015
Yellow indented lettering poorly applied with black showing through so it's not easy to read at a glance. Also the inch measurements do not line up with the beginning pivot point, so accuracy is compromised. Very cheap made in China item and I expected better quality from a Stanley brand product. I would return it but it's not worth the hassle for me.
Not a straight-edge - Poor quality control (or design)
May 21, 2015
The measuring edge is severely curved down/inward for more than the last inch, making it useless as a straight-edge past 4-5 inches. Unsure if it's a design flaw or single item defect. Exchanged for another brand/similar item.

use to love this square because it was thinner than the rest , but now it is the same as all the rest nothing special
Sharp edges, not square, more expensive than Swanson...
May 23, 2014
I'm returning this square because of its very sharp edges first. As soon as I picked it up I was concerned about being cut. Second, not everything is square on it. Also, the original Swanson Speed Square is less expensive (granted I'm now paying a shipping fee for the return) and there aren't scribe notches on this square (my fault for not looking at it more closely and assuming they'd be there). So, look at the original Swanson before you buy this one.
Thin Aluminum
July 28, 2013
This square is pretty standard and seems accurate. The downside is that it is made out of somewhat thin aluminum. I stepped on it once and bent it easily. My swanson square is thicker and has never bent with the occasional misstep. I'd recommend buying the swanson instead.

Low-quality material leads to broken control arms...
August 25, 2016
After receiving the Homecraft H26-260L 10-Inch Compound Miter Saw, I was initially excited about getting a great deal on what seemed to be a decent, serviceable product at a lower price than I could've imagined. Unfortunately, mid-way into my first real project with the saw (simply cutting some trim for a dining room re-hab), the control arm snapped off. This means that I can't locked the blade into a specific angle any longer, and the blade can twist and move, making my cuts inexact. I was able to complete the project by being very, very careful, but... the whole saw is essentially ruined and can now only be used for work that doesn't require any specific measurements or attention to detail. From reading other review, I realize that this is a common problem with the saw, which must all have control arms made from very low-quality material. Too bad, it's a waste of an otherwise good product.
Worse saw I have ever used.
August 23, 2016
Hard to believe this is made by Delta. Worse saw I have ever used. The positive stops are barely recognizable and it does not come even close to stopping on them. Keeps you wondering if you are even on the right degree cut that you want. The handle you tighten in front to hold the rotating table into position is a push piece. You tighten it and it expands a bolt to the table pushing things apart. If you over tighten it down it will break as some have complained here already. A miter saw is about the table that it is mounted on and how it spins and performs and this is the worst feature of this saw. When I tried the laser function the beam is nowhere to be found on the piece I am cutting. Tried using it later in the day when there was less sun and could barely see it. Guess it is so weak it is useless. And when you lower the saw blade a piece on the saw covers the laser anyway. I don't get it. Who designed this thing? Now I see after less than 2 weeks it has come down in price $19 to $90. This saw is a big lemon and I'm sorry I bought it. If you are also considering the Hitachi then stop in Lowes and check it out. It is above and beyond this hunk of junk.
Buyer beware!!
August 4, 2016
I was so excited to receive this miter saw, as I'm a DIY fanatic and have a ton of projects that my hand saw equipped to handle. I busted this bad boy out of the box ready to cut some wood (I reframed the columns on my porch and hoped to trim them out and pretty them up). I read the directions, attached to my table and proceeded to cut a piece of wood approx 1/2x3. Less than 1/8 of an inch in, I saw smoke, immediately stopped and realized the blade wasn't turning anymore. I called the MFG at 4:30 and their offices had already closed (there hours are 8-5 eastern time, which is my time zone as well). Really, really disappointed.

will NOT handle a 2x6. the provided clamp will only handle a 2x4. a 2x6 will sit over the clamp. am probably going to return it based on this alone.-UPDATE-while packing up the saw for return, i decided to measure the board i bought incase it was bigger than 6 inches. its 5.5 inches. i measured the area from the clamp to the wall it holds the board against. it only measured 4.5 inches.just some more info and a warning: it absolutely will NOT handle a 2x6 clamped. you have to leave it unclamped and support the board with a second person's hands... and the saw says dont put hands there.

The gauge left is huge.

Leaves a sizable gauge in wood, much too large for detail wood and trim work. Constantly misfiring too. Junk. Wish I had returned it.

Fires One Nail and Then Just Air
March 15, 2014
Bought this nailer based on the 4+ star rating on Amazon and thought it would be perfect. It shoots the first brad flawlessly and then just air until I manually advance the rest of the nails forward. Having to manually advance the nails each time is ridiculously time consuming but it would be spectacular if I you needed it to fire one nail.

I guess the glue was an added bonus.

So product looks good minus all of the glue like substance that came on it.

Square not very square
August 8, 2016
Squares are not straight off of flanges and not exactly 90 degrees at the square angle! gees, the one thing a square needs to get right. I bought two and set them against each other on a flat glass surface and on a precise machining surface. They are both off and certainly off from each others. I returned them.
WILDLY INACCURATE
March 6, 2016
I used this to mark and cut 60° angles on the ends of 4x6 timbers. After making 36 cuts and assembling my project, I discovered the angles were not true, so nothing fit tight. So I went back on a scrap piece and made another cut another right at the 60° mark, just as before. Then I measured it with another protractor. The angle was off by 2 or 3 degrees! NOT HAPPY.
This one arrived today and I'm pretty disappointed with it
April 19, 2015
II ordered this square because my grey Empire is hard to read in low light. This one arrived today and I'm pretty disappointed with it. It feels a little cheap, but for less than $6 I didn't expect much. The real problem is that the 'ears' at the pivot are rounded off. I often use the square to transfer lines around corners on posts, studs, etc. I'll try to exlain what's wrong. The piece of metal that creates the lip you put against the edge of the workpiece is the problem. At the pivot point, this piece creates an edge, when the flat part of the square is on a surface, that goes around the corner. when transfering lines around corners I put the long edge of the square on my mark or line, and use the lip or spine to dray a mark around the corner.Trouble is that on this square the end of the lip piece is rounded off causing the marks I transfer to be off by almost 1/16". Transfered around 4 corners, this makes for nearly 1 1/4" error. Not acceptable for the level of work I do. I'll be doing the paint trick on my old empire to make it easier to read ant this stanley will end up in a toolbox or given to a kid for a toy.
