Side by Side Comparison of: Bushnell vs Tasco

This was 1 of many spotting scopes here on amazon and I felt for the price and contents that come with this was the best buy for the money. Upon receiving it was very impressed with the scope and the case that came with.

When I first received this product I was very impressed with the presentation of packaging and everything that was included with the purchase. My representation came with a locking hard case, a soft case, a protective covering, a tripod, and a microfiber cloth. This is a very good budget minded spotting scope. I have used this scope a couple of times now and it does everything that it's supposed to do the only negative, as others have stated, was that the eye relief isn't that good. I kind of knew this going in, and expected it so I can't ding it any stars for that. If you want a scope that zooms like it's supposed to and focuses easily with good glass for the $120 plus price point this product is for you.

Awesome piece of gear with easy setup. Some reviews claim that it is a little hard to focus, but this is a spotting scope, not a pair of nature binoculars. A little bit of skill is required to adjust on target

Perfect size and zoom capabilities! I was looking for something to see between 25 - 100 yards and this thing hits them all, and the image is crystal clear...planning to buy another.

This is an awesome Scope for the money. Images are very clear at all magnifications, even in low light, and scope function is excellent. I would recommend this scope to anybody on a budget.

I WSAS VERY OPTIMISTIC WHEN I ORDERED THIS SCOPE BECAUSE IN THE DESCRIPTION ALL IT LISTED WAS A TRIPOD AND SO I THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE TO BUY A CASE SEPARATELY HOWEVER IT CAME WITH A VERY NICE ALUMINUM HARDCORE AS WELL AS A SOFT CASE. THE FOCUS IS INCREDIBLE I WEAR TRI-FOCALS BUT BECAUSE OF THE FINE HD FOCUS OF THIS SCOPE I CAN REMOVE MY GLASSES.

Scope is clear all the way to 60x. Only thing I don't like is there is no eye piece protection, either for it or my glasses. But, I have to take my glasses off anyhow as glasses will cause the eye focal point to be to far away. Have to get the eye right on there....but the magnification is worth the money. I can use it on my 100m target and see the round hits, beats hell out of the scope I tossed in the trash.

The scope was more than I expected. It was packaged extraordainarly well with cloth carrying case and an excellent storage metal case. The scope comes with a solid tripod and the scope is clear, easy to adjust to the eye and stable. Very satisfied!

This is my first scope, so I have nothing to compare to. But, I really like the picture I am seeing. It's very clear to me. Keep in mind that 20x zoom that it beings with is a lot. So, viewing somewhat close objects is not so possible. However, further objects look real close to me. I bought this to adjust my pellet rifle scope, which I have not done, yet.

I read other reviews about this product and thought folks where being picky....Eye relief does matter!My only real complaint.

Everything works but it is fiddly to set up. I wish I had known that the stand does not expand upwards. Yes, maybe I should have looked closer but it sort of looks as if it does. Otherwise, good viewing and neat and tidy in a fairly small package, if you don't mind getting your head down!

Purchased this compact scope to save space for mountain goat hunting. Unit worked good on it's first trip thus far up and down the mountain's.

I like this scope a lot. It is a lot handier than other spotting scopes and therefore is more likely to be with me when I want it. The fancy carrying box is useless, I gave it to my wife for jewelry. I use the included nylon bag. It'd be better to drop the hard case and the price a little. If you can get by with 36 power, this is a good one for you.

I bought this scope specifically for range use. Typically my range and shooting is out to 100 yards. Don't let the size of this scope fool you, it is great for what I needed. Sharp and clear from 7 yards out to 100 yards. Easy to focus, and even .22 rounds at 100 yards are clear on the target. Great buy for my uses.

So i was in the market for a cheap spotting scope and i was expecting an ok product but it turned out to be better than I expected. I havent had any issues with it. I do wish it had finer adjustment options. Overall would buy again. Great starting scope.

I use this scope at the range to spot at 50 yards and 100 yards. It is a great help in zeroing in iron sights. It is a good value for the money.

Easy to use, worth the money I paid. Easy to pick out .22 at 200 yards. Can't ask for more. Tripod is a little weak I have a better one so I used that.

Not too sure yet. It looks good for someone without glasses. They need the type of eyepiece that is used on binoculars for people with glasses. I have to take off my glasses to use this spotting scope.

Almost as good as a low-end Leupold, but half of the cost. I have this Tasco and a Leupold Ventana. The Leupold is a bit sharper and brighter, but it costs a lot more. This Tasco works well for me at an indoor range. Sharp enough and bright enough to easily see .22 caliber holes at 25 yards in moderate lighting. We shoot some targets at 50 feet. At this indoor range, 50 feet is between the lights, so the target is not lit very well. The Tasco still works well under these less than ideal conditions.

This is an ok spotting scope. The glass isn't the clearest, but at 100 yards you can see where your shots are hitting. It's functional, but there are nicer spotting scopes out there.

great as a spotting scope. swivel mount was not smooth or easy to adjust. optics where as good as i would have wanted. great for the price, i went to a bushnell binocular instead.

For the money, this is hard to beat. I don't do long distance shooting, but I wanted something basic and affordable that I could use for zeroing rifles at my local range. Setting the magnification to 24x makes picking up 5.56mm hits at 50 yards a walk in the park. Unfortunately, the eye relief at this magnification is so short that it precludes the use of eye protection, and I'm pretty uncomfortable being around projectiles moving at 3200fps without adequate safety glasses. Including a tripod is a nice touch, but you get what you pay for - it's a bit of a pain to get the scope lined up just right and then keep it that way while tightening down the tripod.Short and sweet: cheap, decent quality glass, but don't expect to get a Leupold Mk4 at this price.

Not bad optics, but if you wear glasses you will never get close enough to use them. And of course the higher the magnification the closer you must be. Be prepared to take your glasses off to use this other wise worth the money scope.

It's okay for the price. If you expect more, you will have to pay more. Simple. isn't it?

Not bad for the money but don't expect to see out past 100 yards.

The scope is alright. I think the 20X is right on and will do the trick for spotting rounds at 100 yards. All the other power setting above that, I believe, is false advertisement. If you are thinking the 60X will be 3X more powerful than the 20X, don't believe it.

Smooth adjustment of zoom and focus. Optics are not suitable for max range at highest zoom, but I am content with the scope for my purpose. (400 yds. at 30x power). I have not compared the optics to any other brand at any price range, so my issues with clarity and perfection in optics may be unreasonable.

Usually a big fan of Bushnell product, eye relief not forgiving very hard to adjust and find target. Less magnification than my 10x power Binocs. Save your $$ buy something else.

eye relief was terrible

First if you wear glasses look elsewhere. You must jam your eyeball into the rubber eyepiece to the point of discomfort (my eyelashes were touching the glass) to get an appropriate sight picture.If you're still considering it save another 100$ and get something that will last longer than 5 minutes and that's not an exaggeration. Upon unboxing this you get a good feeling because of the case and accessories then you use it..... The eyepiece rotates to change magnification, that function promptly broke with an audible TINK when I reached 36 power. I now have a fixed 36 power monocular that is non returnable because the wife got it nov 29 for Christmas . By by 30 day return policy .

The Bushnell Sentry 12-36 scope provides fair views at 12x in good light, but at higher power the eye relief diminishes rapidly and it becomes unusable to someone wearing glasses and difficult to use without glasses. I was looking for an easy to carry alternate for my 82mm Kowa scope. I intended to use it on a gunstock mount or monopod to get quick views of birds that were too far for my 10x binoculars. I did not find it suitable for this purpose. It comes with a very practical "scope glove", a soft case, and a hard case worthy of a much better instrument. Perhaps Bushnell would have a better product if they had omitted the hard case and spent the money to provide better optics.

Eye relief is almost non existent when zoomed. You have to literally push your face into the eyecup to see through the scope. Also the eye piece cover on this unit was cracked inside the case. Very poor QC for Bushnell, returned the item for full refund.

Very disappointing, but I guess you get what you pay (or don't pay) for.

The tripod was broken after 2nd time. The field of view is so small which is almost unusable. very blurry image. can't see the target from 200 yard away clearly

Utter cheap garbage. Don't waste your time having to return it. This scope should be at a $35 price point for the quality.

I bought this for target shooting. I could make out the target at 100 yards, but it was pretty dark.The tri-pod that it comes with is terrible. Then there is the matter of the spotting scope itself...It is pretty bad. There is literally no eye relief, you will need to have the lens inside your ocular cavity in order for you to be able to see anything. Once you have your eye in there, it is very dark. I'm going to be returning this spotting scope, I also have a Tasco Varmint scope so I was thinking that the quality would be the same. But I guess not.Oh yeah, the hard case is pretty nice. And it also comes with a fabric bag which is not to bad.
