Nice, with caller id and memory, easy to use, good manual
August 12, 2017
Exactly as shown. A solid phone from the company that knows phones. Doesn't take messages, but can't beat the price. Corded, not cordless, but my old one didn't work in my building. Desk or wall phone.
Nice landline phone
July 31, 2017
Very clear reception. Appreciate the volume control for both ringer and incoming calls. Wish the directions on programming numbers was a bit clearer, but once I got help on first one, it worked ok
I would buy this again! Works Great!
June 3, 2017
We love this phone! We had one for years that broke and we tried multiple phones from stores and they didn't hold up. I figured I would try this one because it was close to our original phone and it works great. Love the caller ID and the cord lid long but not too long. Even though it is an AT&T phone it works for all providers. I would definitely buy this again!
working great.
November 7, 2015
wanted to ditch the wifi phones in my house for the sake of my 2 year old who loves talking on the phone all the time. This wired phone working great no mater how may times my kid drops it (I've lost count now) its still working fine.
United Cold Steel says give this phone a try for under 3 large lattees this phone gets a 5 star rating.
March 4, 2015
Why so many bad reviews for this phone. I held this phone the same way as most of you customers did, and As long as you don't hold it tightly you shouldn't dial any numbers. The volume is great. I am hearing impaired and I am able to hear the conversations on the lowest setting. I just wish the ringer could be a bit louder but that is okay. This phone gets a perfect 5 stars. You can't beat this price for under $12 and free shipping
Just the phone I was looking for!
January 7, 2014
My cell is my main phone, but I have a land line in case of earthquakes (last big one we lost power but not phone service - !). I just didn't like not being able to screen calls so I pay for caller ID. Then I tried to find a phone that was (1) small in size, (2) compact in design, (3) would accommodate extension cords on both the hand set and the base (have a small apt. and like to carry it around with me). This was the ONLY phone I could find that fit the bill, AND was so inexpensive! Yes, the buttons on the back of the handset were annoying at first as I also kept hitting the disconnect accidentally while talking at first, but I adapted and it doesn't happen any more. And yes, it would be easier to read the caller ID if it were back-lit (BEWARE - the photo makes it look like it is back lit and it is NOT) but not a big deal to me as the phone rests on a shelf under a lamp. Had this phone for about 6 years - look a beating as I had dropped it a number of times - and it finally gave out. Phone worked, but caller ID didn't. Could ONLY find a replacement on Amazon. Looked all over and no other phones fit the bill - WAY too large and bulky, cordless (won't work if power is out), much more expensive, etc. Was so thrilled to find this tried and true model on Amazon that I bought an extra for the future just in case. Cannot go wrong for the price - and you can change out the cords with standard phone extension lines.

No problems
September 11, 2017
Works as advertised. Never gave my number out and have 29 missed calls. I turned the ringer off because I only get spam calling me. The land line is just because it's extra phone in case there is a problem with my cell. The phone itself seems well made. User friendly.
Loud, clear, and just right for anyone who wants a simple phone
May 31, 2016
My grandpa insists on keeping his home phone even though he never uses it. It didn’t help that he could barely hear it either. I figured if he’s paying a phone bill every month he might as well be able to use it so I ordered this one since it had everything he needed and was a great price.

It’s a plain old phone line so it was simple to install. Just plug the base into a wall outlet and then plug the phone cord into the base (it even comes with a cord). The phone is up and running in seconds. To make it even easier for him I added a few phone numbers and names into the phone. This was surprisingly easy and only took a few minutes. This way he won’t have to go looking for our numbers, plus our names will show when we call.

His biggest issue is hearing so I set the ringer to high. It’s loud enough that even he didn’t have problems hearing it. The call volume is pretty loud and I found calls to be clear as well. He was able to hear well through the test calls I made him.

The buttons are big enough that he’s not accidentally pressing more than one button at a time. They’re also easy to push (the other reason he needed a new phone). The phone comes with a small instruction manual so it’s easier for him to get used to the phone.

So far, he’s happy with the phone. If anything changes I’m sure he will let me know and I’ll share an update. It’s a simple phone that’s just perfect for someone who doesn’t want/need any extras. It’s loud, has large enough buttons, and it’s cordless. It feel like it was a great choice for him.
Good quality phone, not bad for the price. No bells and whistles, but it is user friendly.
August 16, 2015
Affordable and easy to keep around the house as a back up plan. Wish I could put it on speaker or even add a hands-free option, but for the price to sit there and look pretty, its ok :) I have a poor cellphone signal and service drops calls on a regular basis. This phone is a great option when I have to make important phone calls when I'm home. Anyone else, it's ok to drop a call or two and blame it on the mobile carrier :D J/kidding :)
Hear One -- Hear All!!
July 17, 2015
Our apartment has been designed so you cannot hear anyone from any room other than the one you are in. This is a good phone and works pretty well with an answering machine as advertised. We should have gone for the one with another satellite phone, but didn't. The only fault with the answering machine is it does not give you any indication it has messages other than just a number indicating how many calls came in while you were out. No tone or beep or anything, if you don't erase them as you hear them, they will just continue accumulating; but that is not the phone's problem, that's yours!! All in all, it's worth the money.
Great phone, rediculous price
June 29, 2014
This phone was cheap! I mean it was inexpensive. As I remember, I paid about $14 for this phone, and it works great. It will last for 2 or 3 days on a full charge, and the sound is clear with no static or distortion. I recently hooked up a fax machine, part of a printer, in my house, and the person who I spoke to about the service said that I could also hook a phone to the line at no extra cost. So, I decided to look here on Amazon to see how much one would cost me. I have been a cellular user for years, and didn't have any idea how much a cordless phone cost these days. I was pleasantly surprised to find this one which was highly rated, so I said what the heck,14 $ isn't going to break me, and I bought it. It works great, and so does my fax.

Never thought I'll get a home line again.
October 7, 2017
Great phone, someone complained about caller ID being to dim. Well just turn up the contrast or brightness on phone, so u can see it better. Comes with the preset of 3 goes up to 5 I think for brightness. Very basic phone no real perks but screen and color ID only wish it came with a speakerphone.
Phone does the job
October 4, 2017
I would have given this a 5 star rating except for the bottom part you remove to install it on a wall. It's not a tight fit and can fall off. i didn't want to spend a lot of money for a phone that will hardly be used so it works
Great deal for land line.
June 20, 2017
Just what I want! I needed a basic phone for my landline. More than enough basic bells and whistles. Contrast on caller id screen difficult to see. Generally only calls 3rd parties I don't wish to talk with so don't miss there being no message system. Great price.
Good phone at a bargain price
May 20, 2017
Comfortable to hold, easy to dial, good sound, and a terrific bargain. If you want this kind of phone, I don't think you can do better.
Could be improved
May 11, 2017
This phone is so light weight that it will fall off the counter when you use it. You can't see that you have dialed the number because the number keys don't light up or anything. It works but it is not great.
AT&T Trimline Corded Phone - Good, Basic Corded Landline Phone
July 28, 2015
This replaced an older trimline phone we had that stopped working after 20 years. We rarely use the land line so I can't write a lot about it. It seems fine for when I do use it. The caller ID portion works well. It is not backlit. I haven't had issues reading it. It's a good basic phone with caller ID with it. Great for my use - a rarely used land line phone.

decent phone
August 4, 2017
Decent phone, my first one died after about 10 years. Screen is a bit hard to read in low light or at an angle and the speaker could be better but at the price, its just fine.
Purchased a second one
June 21, 2017
I owned this model for 6 years and liked it so well that I ordered this one. There are some slight changes--the red charging light is gone and the fully-charged icon is smaller. Otherwise, I still like this phone.
It wasn't as sturdy as I thought it would be
May 28, 2017
Served the purpose. It wasn't as sturdy as I thought it would be.
Not bad for $15!
February 22, 2016
The good:
Sounds good, lightweight, good battery life, good range, ring volume is customizable & not obnoxious, excellent price, the Caller ID & memory works well.

The not so good:
The buttons are squishy & can be hard to use, it's prone to interference, I wish it had an option for louder volume and a speaker for quiet calls.
Great phone for a decent price!
January 7, 2016
I actually expected nothing out of this phone, reason being because it was relatively cheap (price). My previous phone was also a VTech and cost slightly more than what the VTech CS6114 currently costs today ($15). Boy, was I was mistaken. This is a pretty great cordless phone! The phone's weight is really light on the hand, feels like there is nothing inside. Both, the speaker and the microphone works great. No audio issues whatsoever, EXCEPT when making an international call (only sometimes, but it might not be a phone issue). I am a little disappointed that it doesn't have a speaker phone capability, but it really isn't something for me to consider this phone garbage, like a few others do. Depending what type of phone service you have, it will also notify you when you have new Voicemail.

AT&T is a great phone supplier
April 19, 2017
Even though we've had this for a short time, one small piece of the back fell off...but it went right back on. Otherwise, you get what you pay for. AT&T is a great phone supplier. This is an adequate phone.
WOULD BE GREAT~
September 10, 2016
If the caller ID display would light up like the photo shown in the description :( Other wise rest of this phone functions fine for now..
Squealing feedback noise after two months.
August 6, 2016
After two months I'm getting a squealing feedback effect that usually occurs if I put a portable speaker phone next to this one when I'm on perpetual hold. Only problem is, the portable speaker phone is nowhere near. Either that or the PC police are tapping my phone. Like another reviewer stated, why can't they just make a good simple phone that works like they used to make in America. One improvement over the previous version of this phone is that I can actually read the caller id display. The previous one had a wrap around window that made reading the last digit almost impossible.
Works but not what I wanted
July 18, 2016
The picture makes it look like the caller id display lights up but it does not. I bought this phone specifically for that purpose because the location the phone jack is in is dark.
The phone works fine but the main body is too light in weight ...
March 19, 2016
The phone works fine but the main body is too light in weight and it gets pulled around when you pick up the receiver, the only solution is to anchor the body to the table which is not always feasible. Maybe it would work better as a wall mount. The manufacturer should weigh the body down so that this does not happen, it makes the phone feel cheap even if it works OK.
Works well, but hard to read screen
August 5, 2015
I purchased this phone for my dad. It works great, looks good on the wall and basically performs like any other land-line phone. The problem he has with it is the caller ID screen. The light isn't bright enough for the letters/numbers to "pop" and because they are the old-style monochrome LCD, you have to look at it directly to see clearly; they aren't visible from an angle. This doesn't work well for him because the phone is hanging on a wall that is too close to a corner for him to get directly in front of. It kind of defeats the purpose to take the phone off the hook to see what it says if you are trying to screen your calls.

Why does a WHITE phone have a BLACK power cord ...
July 31, 2017
Why does a WHITE phone have a BLACK power cord? It looks really tacky in the spot we want to use it to have a black cord! I called VTech and they don't even make a white cord. If they make a white phone, they should make a white cord to go with it!
basic but gets the job done
June 19, 2017
phone is pretty basic came as described nothing fancy but seems to work well and get the job done
Serves Its Purpose As In Case of Emergency House Phone
March 5, 2017
It works for its purpose as the in-case-of-emergency phone. We have a digital phone plan from AT&T, this connects to the digital phone device. The sound quality isn't the best, but it's good for once-in-awhile usage.
68+1 and still learning.
August 3, 2016
It is o.k.but I find it hard to understand. Wish I had ordered and extra phone like and extension for my bedroom.
eh ...
February 20, 2015
I purchased to replace what looked the same, but wasn't. This version does not have the indicator light for charging (my mistake).

This phone: a few times it says, "no power at base" which is completely wrong; everything is fine. All the cords are plugged in and I haven't lost power, it's weird. I find that the buttons stick and don't dial what I am pressing at times. Like the star rating, it's OK. I wouldn't buy again.

Phone needs adapter if you have internet
September 18, 2017

August 10, 2016
I use a set of five cordlesws Panasonic phones and like them very much but they do not work well next to my computer. Needing a landline, I opted for the ATT phone which works next to my computer. Awkward to use, the caller ID is not clear and is on the side opposite from the dialing buttons. The buttons are used for programming the phone. There are few slots for inputting my phone lists and only 3 memory buttons. As I use it infrequently, I didn't bother to return it, but it is certainly not well designed. I would not recommend it.
You get what you pay for
July 23, 2016
Worked well for a few months but then it would ring and I would be unable to hear anything and the caller could not here me. It's too bad that with the proliferation of cell phones and cordless land lines it is almost impossible to find a suitable replacement for a reliable handset.

February 8, 2016
I wished one could pick it up yo see who's calling before answering, instead you have to strain to see display.
Not good qaulity.
January 20, 2016
This phone will last about two years before it needs to be replaced due to several factors, all of a sudden you cannot dial out and there is a lot of static and their is a little plastic tip that breaks off so it cannot be hung on cradle anymore.
Poor display. Nice feature set.
September 10, 2015
This phone has a very nice feature set. The LCD display however is one of the worst I have seen (my Casio watch and hp Calculator are far better and they also have no backlight). Thinking I had a sample defect I asked Amazon to ship a replacement which turned out to be equally bad in terms of the display. The Quick Start manual included is missing some important information. Go to the manufacturer's website for a more complete manual. http://cdn-media-att.vtp-media.com/media/p/document2/products/{59A4E55E-7972-4344-9C2B-ECC7AF4A62EE}/TR1909_CIB_i10.0_20141230.pdfWith a decent display I would rate this unit 5 stars considering the price. Considering the poor display I have chosen to rate it 2 stars.

Failed after only 4 months of occasional use
September 15, 2017
The phone worked fine at first. Then after only 4 months of occasional use, the microphone started randomly making the speaker's voice very quiet, then would get loud again, then quiet. In other words, there was some random problem with amplification of the speakers voice. The battery showed full on the display, and another phone in the same jack works fine, so the problem is with this phone.

The price of this landline phone is very cheap, and it doesn't require many functions, but the basic answer is very small. It can only be heard when it is very quiet around. The voice is really very small and can not hear clearly
Help! The phone won't ring for intercom system.
July 19, 2017
Help! I purchased this phone to connect to the intercom system in my building, and I cannot get it to ring when someone calls from downstairs. There is no phone service connected to it, and I can "buzz" them in by clicking the talk button and hitting the number "9", but that's only when they text me to let me know they are downstairs. Is there any way to get this phone to ring when someone buzzes the intercom? I have checked the ringer, and the volume is set high and testing fine, but it won't ring from downstairs. Any ideas or do I throw it out and start over??
It is not comfortable to hold and the plastic seems hollow and cheap
December 4, 2016
I've had this phone for some time now and it is flimsy and not user friendly at all. It is not comfortable to hold and the plastic seems hollow and cheap. The buttons are not very intuitive and seems to have a delay when I am trying to dial a number. The functions are confusing and I end up just using my cell phone most times. I gave it two stars because at least it works and available should I not have my cell phone available.

May 9, 2015
This phone is not expensive, but I would have expected better quality. Setting up the message is difficult due to the vague directions. When you push a button, there is a delay which makes you think pushing harder will help or there is some disconnect, but it's just cheap. The phone is not shaped well to conform to your hand, is too light weight, and short. Every so often the phone will freeze up and I have to take the battery out and put it back in. I'm keeping it only because we rarely use the land line phone, so we can live with it. If you just need an inexpensive emergency land line and are willing to live with it's quirkiness, this will do. Next time, I will pay more for better quality. I

POOR INVESTMENT
May 5, 2016
I bought this for an elderly family member who needed a simple phone without too many bells and whistles. It is being used but not without problems: (1) it is black and the numbers on the pad seem to be grey and not easy to read; (2) while it is in use, there is a button which frequently is inadvertently touched and disconnects the call; and (3) it is not heavy enough to stay on the table when he picks it up to answer a call. I would not purchase this again.

Poor display, poor battery life, poor audio from tiny hole
August 30, 2017
This phone was very disappointing:
Display was very tiny and almost impossible to read through a super-glossy plastic window.
Battery life wasn't consistent. Sometimes it sat on charge 12+ hrs. but wouldn't get through the next day with hardly any use.
Poor audio from the tiny speaker hole.
It was so bad, I sent it back and got out my 20+ year old Toshiba phone.
