Happy with the product and the price.
September 14, 2017
We use this to monitor temperatures in our lower level and next to our thermostat. We use our lower level as an AirBnB space so it's important to keep the temps at a comfortable level for our guests. We have only a single thermostat on the upper level -- so the temp difference between the lower and main level can be significant. This monitor allows us to see the temp in the lower level and make adjustments to the thermostat, if necessary. Very happy with the product and the price!
This works well.

This works well for providing the temperature outside my travel trailer compared to inside. Of course you have to place the remote sensor out of the sun, and if possible away from pavement heating, and you have to remember to pick it up before you depart. Using this, you can tell at a glance whether to continue with the air-conditioner or open the window and use the fan. Another helpful usage is to place the remote in the trailer and the display in the house, to keep track of how cold the trailer interior gets during winter.
GREAT LITTLE THERMOSTAT!
March 7, 2017
Great little thermostat! This is my second one, I "swept" my other one off of the 3rd story deck with snow. As it is white I didn't see it. Looked for it below, but couldn't find it. Anyway ordered another one and now the sender (the part that goes outside that I swept away) works for both of the indoor readers. Now I have one in the bedroom and the living room. Well worth the purchase.
LOVE THIS PRODUCT
November 15, 2014
LOVE THIS PRODUCT !! Works perfectly. I sit it beside me and I glance over to see what the temp is outside and inside. I use this a lot !!! I have to know the temp outside as if it's too hot I have to be careful in 80-90 degree heat, which is most of the time where I live. Right now in November we've got down to about 65% to lower at night which is perfect for me. Love it cold. I put the white monitor right ouside the door on a tiny table under an umbrella for protection. I must know the weather and these work great and are always precise in their readings. We've had a light rain and the white outside monitor is just fine. I've had this product for several months now and all is good. I would buy again.
Works well Good customer service
February 14, 2012
In my seller review, I mentioned that the black part around the screen had very small scratches (not visible without very close inspection) and I got an email from the company expressing their concern and wanting to make things better. Very nice to deal with a company like this. And they have all good reviews as far as I can see.The thermometer itself works very well and is easy to use . I like this one because it's simple. I just want to know the temp indoor and out. Some people say it's too small but you can see it easily from across the room.
Great economical choice
January 16, 2012
This is a simple, accurate, indoor outdoor thermometer. The outdoor sensor is neat and appear water tight. The indoor display (with integral sensor) is easy to read and small enough to be unobtrusive. Before rating, I checked accuracy with three regular thermometers and an extremely sensitive/accurate Casio Pathfinder. This device got A+ for both consistency and reliability.

Accurate, Easy to Use, Strong Connection, and Affordable.
August 26, 2017
Very accurately measures temperature and humidity, both indoors and outdoors. Indoors, I have a thermostat, and a very accurate dial meter. The AcuRite meter, and the others are all within one degree of eachother. It took about a half-day for the meters to read accurately, so be patient. The display is large and easy to read. The display mode can be set to show indoors continuously, outdoors continuously, or both (but only one shown at a time on the screen for about two seconds before switching from indoors to outdoors and back again, etc...). Two buttons on the back control the display mode, and Cel/Far display. The outdoor sensor easily connects to the display unit without doing anything - just put the batteries in both units, Nice. The connection strength is absolutely amazing. I have my outside sensor placed, in relation to the display unit as follows: through a wall, through kitchen cabinets, and through an exterior cinder block wall, totaling about 15 feet in a direct line, and the connection has full bars. Very Nice. The display also shows when batteries are low. I use rechargables, so that wont be an issue for me. The display unit is small and unobtrusive. It does not have a balance bar on the back like a picture frame, but its base is wide enough and balanced so that it can stand up. So if you want a small unit with a big display, I highly recommend this, especially for what I paid: $13.
Perfect little unit that just works
January 22, 2017
Popped in the batteries in both units, put the sensor in a shaded deck outside, and voila, done! The first temps were wacky, but over a few hours time they moved to the correct temperature.I've found temps over 32 to be spot on (+ or - a degree or two) with the internet and outside time/temp signs around where I live. Once the temps dropped below 30 then the readings seemed to differ more with internet/temps signs. I've had zero problems with the units, batteries indicators are both still on full after a few weeks working. Display has large characters which I can read without my glasses. For the price, this unit can't be beat.
Works like a charm. Seems accurate.
January 16, 2017
I read reviews that said the accuracy of this unit was not good. But I have two other outdoor sensor thermometers and they all measure the same temperature. I got this thermometer because I wanted to keep it in the mud room so I can see what I'm in for before I head out the back door. At first I put the sensor out the back door and it seemed to register about 5 to 7 degrees different from my sensors outside the front door. But then I moved the sensor to the front door and it registers the same as others. I never realized the little alcove out the back door was that much warmer. Definitely worth the price.
I love this Item
June 27, 2016
My favorite Gizmo. I love to always know the temperature. My advise is to buy 2. Keep one in a common area and the other by your bed. You only need one sensor and you can operate as many thermostats as you want. Easy to operate. The best place for the sensor is 4-5 feet off the ground in a shady spot. I placed ours in a tree. Easy to install. All you need is batteries. This would make a great gift.
Nice, Compact Sensor and Display
January 14, 2016
Absolutely great! I heat with wood. The stove is in the living room, but I spend most of my time in the TV/computer room. Watching this thermometer let's me see if the temperature in the living room is rising or falling, and I can tend to the stove.EDIT: Feb 4, 2016. It looks like it is on it's way out. The display is blinking and showing the low battery symbol. Replacing batteries in the transmitter and receiver made no difference. I tried eight different, fully charged batteries in both units. Since it's the Outside section that's blinking, it seems like it would be the transmitter that is failing. However, that transmitter is also sending temperature to another In/Out thermometer, and that one is working fine.
Just wont die!!
January 26, 2015
I bought one of these about 8 years ago and it last me for about 4 years.. now I have one for about 5 years and it just wont die! keeps accurate WX inside and out, I replace batteries about every 2 years,, and I love it so much,, just bought 3 more, because I see stores stopped carrying it! and I wanted to make sure I never not have these. The price is very reasonable and I like the small size on my desk. If your looking for a big, more involved WX station,, this is not it,, but for inside and outside WX,, this cant be beat. I placed outside unit, due to its small size in my outdoor electrical socket box that has a clear protective plastic cover,, its also in shade,, works like a charm!

Works great
July 27, 2017
This is easy to install and works great. My old one was a different brand and it kept losing it connection to the outside device.
Nice gift for my mother in law!
May 10, 2017
I purchased this for my mother-in-law as a gift. I have one and look at it everyday for the outside temperature. She really likes it and has told me every time that I call her. Since she is 85 years old, it is hard for her to walk outside tosee the temperature so this solves that problem!! Great product and delivered quickly!!
Easy to read. Easy to Install. Accurate.
March 1, 2017
This thermometer was very easy to install, is easy to read and appears to be very accurate. Using it inside an insulated garage, it provides a good comparison showing inside (garage) and outside temperatures. I have other La Crosse products and they are all high quality. Recommended.
Great product!
January 5, 2017
I purchased, more expensive La Crosse in/out thermometer which just would not display the out temp no matter what I tried. I followed instructions included, watched the on line video and followed those instructions (which were different than the insert), messaged with no response and still nothing. Finally gave up and ordered this which is working beautifully! The sensor is in our RV basement and while that's not the exact out temp, it's close and the sensor is protected.
works great.
December 29, 2016
So convenient to have this, works great.
Seems perfect so far
October 15, 2016
We've only had this a short time but are already loving it. The large, easy to read display is perfect, the overall design is innocuous and stable and the remote was easy to position (I actually hung it in a tree outside to get the typical shady temperature). I don't expect to use the hi/lo feature but it doesn't intrude on normal operation at all. Well designed!

great device
January 30, 2017
This thermometer works great; however, when the batteries start losing charge, the indoor unit/display will not just fade away/stop showing temperature; no, for some reason it will lose the outdoor temperature, so I thought the outdoor sensor needed batteries, changed them, nothing happened, I assumed the thermometer stopped working and bought another one only to have to go through the same thing again, 10 months down the road. So, I think the manufacturer should mention this little quirk in their user manual.
I like knowing the outside temperature before leaving the house
November 21, 2016
I like knowing the outside temperature before leaving the house. Especially in Idaho during the winter. This weather station works well. The only complaint would be that the bases do not have a stand they need to be on the wall or leaning against something. Wish they had a base.
Works well enough - not super acurate
October 30, 2016
For the most part it works well, but temperature can flux a bit and isn't super accurate (I'd say +/- 3 degrees F). I used this mostly to tell the difference in temperature between inside and outside so that I knew when to open the windows to cool my room, so the absolute accuracy wasn't as important to me. But even between the main unit and receiver there is a bit of inaccuracy (+/- 1 degree F, from what I saw). But overall it works and it's cheap - and those were the main qualities I was looking for when I bought it.
Good item and always tracks or connects with my sensor left in the car.
May 2, 2016
Nice feature but I leave one in the car to see the outdoor temp but that can be tricky because of the green house effect inside the car. Winter time it works well. This is a great reference because I leave it next to my bed, wake up, see what the temperature is outside and I know for the day more than likely what the temp will likely be like for the day. This tells me long sleeve or short sleeve. Hot material or not. If over 70 at work with the wrong clothes and I am baking. If cold or below 20 then I really want to know so I don't have to break my back while driving so to speak. Anything under 20F seems cold to me. It is good to know when this occurs. However this year not too much of a problem but last was bad. 2015 (2014 was cold at times). I want to hand it outside but I don't want someone steeling it or someone thinking it is some security device and wanting to break it.
Easy to setup and use, seems to be reasonably accurate.
November 9, 2014
Easy to setup and use; outdoor readout is close to that of another nearby thermometer and to some of the Weather reports. Indoor readout sometimes close to another nearby thermometer, and when not, it isn't clear which one (if either) is more accurate. Bought the three-pack, and two of them agree exactly on the indoor temperature, while the third is about a degree higher.Basically, all I want to know is whether to put on a parka, jacket, sweater, or t-shirt before going outside, and this is more than sufficiently accurate for that. Don't need a memory (which it doesn't have). It definitely can display temperatures over 99.9 degrees: I ran a hair dryer on the probe until the readout got to 128 degrees. The units all have to be placed so that the receivers can detect the signals from the probe. Mine all are within 40 feet, with one outside wall (obviously) and a couple of inside walls and floors between them and the probe. One of them had a problem receiving the signal, so I moved it a couple feet and that took care of the situationWhy a rating of 4. Two reasons:1) the description here (for the 1-unit in white) says "install the thermometer outside or anywhere where temperature is critical", but the probe is not water-proof or even water-resistant, so you can't put it where it could get wet, so it has to go really close to the house, under an eve (very hard to reach to change the battery) or on the porch, if you have one. Either way, it'll be in a place that'll be warmer than the actual outdoors, because it's picking up the heat of the house and rising air.2) the outdoor sensor has to be hung on a nail, but the slot provided is too small for any nail or brad that has a head.Only have had these a week, so don't know anything about durability, longevity, or battery life.
Seems good so far.
February 21, 2014
The first unit I got would not recognize the exterior sensor. Tried many different times removing batteries from both, waiting, replacing batteries in the external, waiting, then replacing in the internal... but it could not find it.I ended up having to return that, but exchange was quick and painless, and the replacement units, so far, appear to work great.Note that it does take several hours for them to normalize temp. Internal and External were off by 4 and 3 degrees initially, but after some time settling (longer than you'd expect) they read pretty close to the same as my benchmark thermometers. Within a degree. That is more than acceptable for this type of product, especially at the price point.Rubber gasket on the external unit goes flying when you put in the batteries, so you'll have to gingerly put it back into place as you install them. Again, a bit of a pain, but at this price point, I can't complain. (It was a clear gasket on the first faulty unit, and a black one on the replacement, so it appears to be a problem across multiple generations.)All in all, I can't speak for long-term durability, but for the price, I find it to definitely be a good product. If they continue to work at this level, I may end up buying additional units for other locations. Recommended.

Nice supplemental heating and cooling aid
July 30, 2017
Good unit, accurate to within one degree up to 100 degrees. Can be off by two degrees when in triple digits outside. Has really helped us cut down on our air conditioning bill by not overusing it and opening up the house when the outside temperature matches the inside temperature in the evening. The outside sensor is mounted on our shaded front porch and the inside sensor is mounted on the hallway wall next to the thermostat, about 20 feet straight back from the front door.
Works as advertised.
August 19, 2016
Four stars only because its hard to "love" a temperator monitor. Bought my first one for the house. Liked it so well, bought a second for the travel trailer. No wires to mess with. Seems to give accurate readings when compared to other analog devices I placed nearby. Recommend highly.
Perfect Size.. Off 1.9 Degrees
May 25, 2016
Wanted something small and easy to read the temperatures, this is perfect! Removed one star due to outside temperature is 1.9 degrees higher than indoor sitting side by side. I don't think these can be calibrated but for the price and knowing outside temperature is actually 1.9 warmer than the display reads I will keep it. Now to see how it does long term. I will update as needed.
it's "close enough" to let me know what the indoor and outdoor temps are like.
March 29, 2016
Temperature readings are 1-degree off ... even when both units are in the same room, side by side, for over 24 hours, the "indoor" and "outdoor" temps are never the same. A calibration error? --- But, since it's not being used for scientific purposes, it's "close enough" to let me know what the indoor and outdoor temps are like.
No outside temp...at first, so I called for help
December 27, 2015
After getting this, I installed new batteries in each unit. The main unit came to life but the outside unit only blinked once. The display showed a outside temp of 33 degrees but it was sitting on my table beside the other unit showing 68 degrees. I took the batteries out and put them back in again multiple times. I pushed the reset buttons on both units multiple times. Nothing worked for me. I let things sit for about a week and tried things again but got the same results. Getting ready to send it back I noticed the phone number on the package and thought,OK, one last time. The guy I spoke to was an American, woo hoo! He had me take all the batteries out and let the units sit awhile to reset. Then I installed just the outdoor sensor batteries and waited. I was told the unit should blink every minute and after about a minute it blinked again. Next he said to install the batteries in the main unit and set them beside each other to get a connection. Very quickly the units found each other and the temps where displayed correctly. He told me to leave them beside each other a while to help establish a good connection, about 20 minutes or so.It's been about a week and these have worked flawlessly since then. The batteries still show full. We will see if the batteries hold up but right now I'm very happy with them.
Adequate
August 16, 2015
This works. We looked around stores to purchase a replacement after getting new windows. Me could no longer use the old fashioned probe hanging outside window. This wireless is okay. We have moved the outside probe all around the yard to try to get a temperature that would come close to matching th weather channel temps like the old one did. We finally hung it right below window and we are within 2-3 degrees now. The range that is stated is exaggerated. We hope it works in Ohio winters. Not a lifetime investment but something we like having.

I like it
September 10, 2017
4 stars is supposed to say "I like it" and, well, I like it. I have a small thermometer in my bedroom that is 2 degrees higher than what the A/C thermostat says and this one is about 1 degree higher so that works for me (who's to say that the thermostat is actually correct?). I find the outside temp has been accurate with what the Weather Channel says. Easy to install. Sometimes, what goes without saying should be said, so, be sure to mount the outside probe in the shade to get a more accurate air temp.
Gets the job done
August 15, 2017
This thermometer has worked fine since we got it many months ago but does run about 2 degrees warmer for both inside and outside temps as compared to other thermometers in the house. No big deal as it is constant. Outside temp can be read from across the room- 14 ft. distance. We have had no serious issues with it.
Great value - works fine.
August 5, 2017
Great value for the money. Works fine. Remote sensor is on a different floor of the house and outside -- signal is strong and accurate. Numbers are a bit difficult to read. Setting the time is a bit tricky without the instructions -- not intuitive.
Nice thermometer
May 7, 2017
Works well, but had some trouble getting the outdoor sensor to connect. Since it connected has worked fine. Decent build quality, but nothing amazing
Works fine, great price
April 8, 2017
Works fine, great price, one very minor trouble, the numbers are so large that a 7 and a 1 can be hard to read, see the top of the 3. Not picking?!
Good little instrument
March 23, 2017
Seems accurate, and is fairly easy to set - easier than another La Crosse indoor/outdoor thermometer that I had previously. I'd prefer the indoor temp to be displayed above the outdoor and the time display not to be so tiny, as I also use this as a clock. The small size is just right for my need.

Keeps track of indoor and outdoor temperatures. Is it perfect? No.Is it worth 15 dollars? Yep.For the price I have no complaints. If it were perfect it would be slightly more accurate (seems to be about a 3 degree difference on the outdoor, when compared to the closest weatherstation). This could be on me, or simply because its below freezing outside. I haven't had a negative degree day so far so I'm not sure how it will handle that. Considering that, it tells me what jacket I want without me having to walk outside first. And also lets me keep somewhat track of my indoor temperature. Although I have no other thermometer to check it against indoors. Signal reaches roughly 20 feet through a brick wall. 4x AAA batteries are needed to run it, 2x in the sensor, 2x in the display. I went with lithium in the hopes that it will still work in the negatives.3/5 because its not "outstanding", does what I want it to and I'm happy with it. Probably better ones around if you look harder.
If I could give 2. 5 stars I would ...
August 12, 2016
If I could give 2.5 stars I would. It's convenient and small. However, after only 30 days of use the outdoor temp is showing the dashes several times throughout the day. I don't know why. We've moved the outdoor sensor several times to try to find a place out of the sun and I think we finally managed that but right now it isn't reading and it is in the shade. :-/ frustrated... Our phones do not show the weather over a 100 so I don't think that is the reason. It is also at different times of the day, not just late in the day.
Okay when it works
March 2, 2014
This thermometer is okay unless you're looking for 100% accuracy and reliability. It says it is accurate to +/- 2 degrees. You should expect it to be off by 2 degrees always. My biggest problem with it is that it doesn't work all the time. It just randomly stops working for extended periods of time. It has done it enough now that I've realized the commonality is rain or high humidity. Whenever it rains or their is 100% humidity such as heavy fog, it will stop working until several hours after the rain stops. I have checked the unit several times and it has never gotten wet. It is located outside in an area that, absent horizontal rain, it can't get wet. If you live in a rainy area of the country like I do, I'd recommend spending a little more money and getting something that will be more reliable under these conditions.Update: I purchased this same product again to see if there was a manufacturing problem causing the functionality issues when it rains or is very humid. I placed the new outside unit in exactly the same place as the old one and continued to use the original inside unit. After a couple of months of use including a two day spell of record rainfall (12 inches in 24 hours), it hasn't stopped working even once through it all. Since I am not the only one who has experienced this problem with this product, it is clearly a quality control issue. Unfortunately it cost me about $10 in shipping to return the faulty product to Amazon. Thus a $20 product ended up costing me $30 due to receiving a bad product initially. It's a really nice product now that it works, but I can't recommend taking a chance on it since you may be the next victim of poor product quality control.
Works for the most part
December 12, 2013
I purchased this thermometer to see the exterior temperature in Wisconsin winters. I wrapped the remote in a plastic bag and hung it outside, under my roof, shielded by a gutter. It functions, most of the time; often enough the indoor display shows nothing from the remote. To be fair, I bought this because it was a cheap way to get the exterior temperature. If I wanted something that consistently worked and would last more than a year I would have to spend more money. One thing of note: The remote features a red light (perhaps to show you the batteries aren't dead?). Given the cost of batteries, it seems idiotic to waste battery life running a light on a sensor unit that you hide outside. In addition, why draw attention to an unsecured, easily stolen sensor unit at night?
Updated review
November 20, 2013
Outstanding. Actually I can't think of a single thing that's wrong with it. It performs just as expected. It was easy to mount and there have been no problems.Well the above statement was true at the time. Just having purchased the unit I had no way to evaluate it long-term. I have now lowered my rating from five stars down to three stars. The unit performed well for me for awhile. The temp readings in and out were always accurate. I know some others had problems with inaccurate temps but I did not. However, I have discovered as several other reviewers have noted, that the unit often stops working in cold, damp weather. This has happened a couple of times and so far it has always again become functional after the weather drys and warms but obviously during the winter you can't depend on it being dry and not cold. So because of the problem with dampness I have to downgrade my evaluation. But I will note that's the only problem I have experienced. I'll update this review again if needed.
Simple Design, Does only what I need, but a little quirky - requires lithium batteries
February 28, 2013
You must use the Lithium batteries "suggested." Consider this a requirement, not a suggestion, and use in both indoor and outdoor components.Used for about 1 week in cold (20 - 40s) temps and the alkaline (fresh, current, duracel) batteries died in the outside unit, and were pretty drained in the inside unit (60-70 temps). The unit stopped reading the outdoor temps, and the numbers had become dim for the indoor temp. I replaced the batteries in the outdoor unit with new alkaline batteries, a small red light inside the unit was visible for a few seconds which I assume indicates battery power, and it still would not read. I decided to try the advanced lithium batteries ($10 for 4-pack AAA) that specifically say they perform in low temps. After replacing the batteries in the outdoor unit, the temp still did not read right away. I replaced the batteries in the indoor unit with the lithium batteries and the wi-fi signal indicator came on. I believe that if you lose signal due to battery failure, you must take out the batteries in the indoor unit and put them back in (reboot) to get the unit to search for the signal for the outdoor unit again. The indoor unit is now displaying nice bright numbers again. Since I just replaced the batteries today, I'm not sure how long to expect the lithium batteries to last. I am hoping they last 3 - 6 months, at least. For such a small unit, it does seem to use more battery power than I would have expected. This is pretty simple to use - just insert batteries, no programming. It is a very simple indoor/outdoor temp unit, nothing fancy. It is perfect for my young children and 95 year old grandfather who just want to know what the temperature is. It is not confusing, no extra information or numbers. It is a small unit, but the numbers are of adequate size to read easily. Unobtrusive, clean design.Signal is good. I had the outdoor unit on the north-east side of my house, and the indoor unit towards the south-east side of the house in the kitchen, and the signal was fine - it was about 60'. I have now placed the outdoor unit only about 3 feet away right outside on the east side of the house to try to conserve battery life. I'm not sure if having the signal travel farther requires it to boost the reception and using more battery power. I keep the outdoor unit between the screen and the glass of my window so it is easy to reach and change batteries, plus giving it some protection from weather and to avoid direct sun. So far the temp readings have been pretty accurate. My choice of location may boost it a degree or so, but I'm not noticing a discrepancy.

It works. Don't trust the statement on how far ...
April 28, 2017
It works. Don't trust the statement on how far the display can be from the remote sensor. Documentation says up to 100 feet. Nah, not even close. Even at 50 feet with line of sight to sensor, the remote temperature faded in and out. But what does one expect for the price? I would suggest the seller/manufacturer rethink the distance the sensor will activate the display.
WORKED WELL ENOUGH, LONG ENOUGH. Replaced it with the same model.
September 21, 2016
Worked for about 18 months, which seems reasonable for the conditions it is subjected to in my climate, dying after an especially violent storm. I found some rust on the contacts, so I took a stab at drying it out with a hairdryer, which yielded an ant and 2 earwigs (all alive), but no outdoor temperature transmission. I've had similar products that lasted about the same amount of time. I just ordered another one. Less than a dollar a month for an accurate indoor-outdoor thermometer that survived 1 brutal winter, 2 very hot summers, and an unknown number of creepy-crawlers seems reasonable.
Nice unit and works well
June 21, 2016
Nice unit and works well. The LCD display is very small and can be difficult to read. If you put it on a window sill the back lighting will make it impossible to read.
Fairly accurate
September 19, 2015
Indoor and outdoor readings were way off at first, even when the units were sitting right next to one another. After a couple of days and multiple resets, they finally nearly agree. Be sure to put the outdoor unit in a spot where the sun will not hit it directly.
Works for what I needed
August 20, 2015
It doesn't display an accurate temperature, seems to be about 5-10 degrees higher than the actual temp. BUT it does allow you to accurately compare inside temp to outside temp, which is all I needed it to do. If its the same temp or lower outside as inside, then I can turn off the AC and open the windows. If it's hotter outside than inside, I close it up and turn on the AC. It does work for this.If it is important that you know what the actual temperature is outside or inside, don't buy this.If all you want to know is whether its hotter or cooler outside or inside, it will work ok.
Cheap, durable, but fairly inaccurate
February 22, 2015
This is a super cheap device that will display indoor/outdoor temps. In my experience the temperatures that are displayed can be anywhere from 5 to 7 degrees off calibration. I have two exactly the same. On the one hand they are very durable. On the down side, one reads too high, one reads too low. For the price what would you expect? They aren't laboratory grade devices. If you can get used to looking at the display and correcting the temp in your head you won't have a problem.

The outside reading stopped registering on the inside unit several months after installation.Very disappointing.
Not dependable!
February 27, 2017
Works OK "most" of the time, but there are times when the outdoor temperature display goes blank and comes back on later.

Not a good quality product
September 19, 2017
This product works great when it actually works. The first one I purchased worked for about 2 years and then just stopped transmitting. The inside consoles continue to work displaying the inside temp, but outside temp is blank. I purchased another remote and console and just about 2 years later it stopped functioning again. Time to move on to a better quality brand.

September 7, 2017
Disappointed. Only 2 of the 3 receivers are displaying outside temperature. I have brand new batteries but one will just not pick up the signal. I have moved it close to the transmitter and set it right next to the other two in the other rooms & it just refuses to receive the outside temp. Too bad because they are a nice size, easy to read and match the temp reading on other thermometers. Returning the product.
Effective, but slow
September 5, 2017
It measures the temperature fairly accurately, but it's very slow to respond to changes in temperature. If the temperature changes, you might not know it for an hour or more.
Worked OK for 1 1/2 years, but just OK. Limited range.
January 2, 2016
I bought the three receivers and the transmitter. We live in Boston so it gets pretty cold and is useful to know how cold when we are getting up. They worked OKAY for almost 1 1/2 years. The transmitter died and wouldn't give off a signal. The range was pretty limited. We had the transmitter outside next to the front door but under a large closed porch, so no rain really. The bedroom above the porch had a limited signal but was just within range, any farther and it didn't work. The other two were downstairs in different rooms and seemed to work fine, although they didn't read the same temperature when sitting side by side. Inexpensive enough, but now I have to buy another type.
Used it to monitor medication temperature, stopped working during my long flight...
August 7, 2015
I was taking 3 months worth of Arthritis medication with me to Australia, and I needed to make sure they were staying cold on the plane. I bought this to help make sure they were at the right temperature. Well, it sort of didn't work as well as I'd hoped. I was checking constantly for the temperature and I would see that the temperature was decreasing slowly and I thought, ok, it's working well. Then, it stopped at a certain temperature and stayed for a long time and I started to get suspicious and after waiting for another long while, I was sure that it just stopped working completely. For the rest of my flight, I took out the receiver and had to just keep switching the batteries from the receiver to the display monitor. They were the same batteries but somehow they just started working again after moving the batteries around. I'm not sure if it's because the receiver was starting to become frozen because of the ice pack but even if you just put it outside of your house, it should still work if it's hit with snow. So every time I had to take the receiver out I was letting the cold out of my cooler bag and I just got even more stressed about my medication. Needless to say, I did not get much rest on the flight because I was worried about the medication and who knows if they actually stayed below the required temperature. Point is, this is definitely not the best device to give you an accurate temperature if you're going to use it for traveling with medication, etc. Hopefully I never have to travel with that much medication again and have to rely on this thing.
Think twice about this wireless thermometer!
January 2, 2015
I was very happy with the two pairs of Ambient Weather WS-04-WHITE Wireless Thermometer with Indoor and Outdoor Temperature for a day or so until I found out that they appear to use the same frequency. I had one pair to tell the temp in my small greenhouse and the other in a different part of the house for the temp on a porch. Then the unheated porch unit started giving me the greenhouse reading so I "rebooted" it and all was well for a day or so then, well then the greenhouse unit would give me the unheated porch temperature followed by a few moments of panic. After a lot of frustrations and movements of the receiving units they seemed to behave and not switch. That is, until today when the porch sending unit decided to not work at all despite new batteries and despite the receiver being two feet away. Six weeks old and failure and too late for an Amazon return! With extreme cold coming in two days I went to the local Wally World and purchased an Acurtite indootr/outdoor unit for about two dollars more. It failed completely in five minutes. A second trip to WallyWorld and that replacement works great.

Disapointing
September 2, 2017
I read the description as it having a remote wired sensor and it doesn, but ONLY for temperature. The humidity sensor is inside the body of the unit. I bought this for a terrarium and didn't want to have to put the whole unit inside, but alas I have to do that any way... Disapointing.
Bulky; no Celsius; feels cheap
July 15, 2017
Cons:- Big for something so simple- No backlight- 4 batteries, 2/unit- Lacks precision- Only shows temp. in FahrenheitPros:- Can't think on any; it is a complete waste of $I suggest you try other brands, like Ambient Weather...
Didn't work for me.
July 5, 2017
Wanted a remote sensor for my camper frig.so that I could monitor temps while I was driving. Followed the instructions for pairing the thermometer and sensor and it seemed to work around the house. Used it on a 4 day camping trip along with the analogue refrigerator thermometer I use at home. The Acurite wasn't even close to what the camper frig digital readout was as well as my home unit. I purchased this item knowing that there were some low customer ratings on it but I figured it wasn't very expensive so it wasn't a huge risk. It didn't work for me - so maybe it's a quality control issue. With a 4 star rating that equates to maybe 4 out of 5 of them work???
Cheap, but not worth the money.
June 23, 2017
It never had very good range - it would only register the outdoor temperature if it was placed within 10 feet of the outdoor unit. Then it failed completely, Wasn't worth returning, and maybe it was too late anyway.Better to spend a few more dollars and get a unit that actually works.
the transmission range is better than Oregon Scientific
February 8, 2016
not too accurate. when the two parts are sitting next to each other they will show a degree or two different temp. On the other hand, the transmission range is better than Oregon Scientific products
not an accurate reading not quick enough
August 10, 2015
not really happy with the product. ordered it so i could monitor the temperature in my 1 year olds nursery, since it can get really cold there at night. At the moment we have Generic GEN60528 Temperature and Humidity Meter in her nursery as well as the kitchen and master bedroom, they work well for us and the temperature is reading acuratly. When i received this thermomether, i sat the controller in the kitchen and the remote reader in her nursery - the temperature was off by 20 degrees when i placed them, but i figured it might be because of my body temp, since i was holding them both in my hands, a half a n hour later it was still off by 12 - 15 degrees compared to our thermometers already in the room and the kitchen, eventualy we put both controller and the reader side by side with the other thermomether - it took about 4 hours for the readings to finally get close - the difference still was 3 degrees. had to send it back, because if the temperature drops, i need to know it sooner than 4 hours.

Worked for Awhile
July 19, 2017
The unit is only 3 weeks old and now the outdoor temperature displays intermittently on the base. The batteries are fine, I tried re-establishing the connection between the base and the outdoor sensor which is less than 30' from the base, that works for awhile but then the same problem occurs. Very disappointing.
Outdoor sensor broke
June 25, 2017
The outdoor sensor stopped working after 5 weeks (just after the return deadline). The unit itself is made of very cheap looking plastic.

May 30, 2017
While this device is fairly accurate it goes through batteries far faster than other units similar to it that we have had in the past. We have to replace the indoor unit's batteries every three weeks. The outside unit has not yet used up it's battery.
Tried new batteries but no good. Wasted $20
May 20, 2017
The whole reason I bought this was to know the outdoor temperature. It was never accurate and it stopped working 2 months after we bought it. Tried new batteries but no good. Wasted $20. Need to buy a different one.

doesn't work at all.
September 18, 2017
Doesn't work at all. The remote doesn't work. I was able to get two readouts when you change all four batteries, but there was no further readout and the remote just goes blank or remains on the one readout forever.Sending it back to Amazon. Going to try dropping at Amazon locker as my return option - first time, will see how that process works.
Cheap - Display will fade
March 14, 2017
I bought this and it worked fine until the display started to fade and fade somewhere around 10-12 months. I finally could barely read it so I called them after 14 months of owning it. They told me to submit a return claim, I did and they turned it down saying their warranty is good for 12 months. It probably started fading at 10 months but being busy, I did not call them. It's cheap so buy a different brand but if you buy one, make sure your return it for a new one before 12 months. Cheapo.

September 24, 2016
A couple weeks after receipt the outside temperature display would intermittently go blank. Lately it is blank all the time and battery replacement has done no good. While this is a rather inexpensive device, it becomes quite expensive when you only get a couple months of reasonable use out of it!
Very disappointed in this product
October 3, 2015
Worked as expected for 3 months, after which the indoor temperature only displays a single whole number and the decimal place (see picture). Very disappointed in this product!
Drops Outdoor Signal Too Often
March 25, 2015
Update March 2017: Outdoor unit just couldn't transmit more than 10 feet, even with lithium batteries. Finally replaced with a newLaCrosse unit that is bigger and transmits farther.I've given up on this. It's accurate when it works, but it drops the outdoor temp signal too often. Yes, I've changed the batteries in both units more than once. Also, if you do try to access the batteries in the outdoor unit, the very thin gasket will likely be dislodged. Be careful not to lose or break it.Shopping for a more reliable device soon.
Inaccurate
May 10, 2014
I followed the directions to set up this unit allowing the two display temperatures to get close to each other. They were off by 0.2 degrees Fahrenheit when I put the remote sensor outside. I put it on a north facing well out of direct sunlight, close to the eave of the house but not where heat may gather. I knew there was a problem the first day when the local airport was showing 84F and my gauge was showing over 90F.I thought that I needed to give it time. At points it was showing over 20F difference to what the local airport gauge was showing. After a week, the gauge started to show three dashes --- so I brought it inside. I then tested to see it would deal with telling the temperature inside. It is still off from the inside unit though it functions better in 70-80 degree weather than it does with over 80 degree weather.Unfortunately I waited over a month to take it out of the box and I cannot return or get a refund. It's not really expensive enough to spend any more time on it. I would not recommend it.

So far not so good...
July 23, 2017
Received the unit, installed brand new batteries. With the sensors sitting just inches apart, they started out reading temperatures about 2.5 degrees different from each other. Reset both sensors and let them sit for an hour, again just inches apart. Came back and they were reading temperatures 2 degrees different. Reset both sensors again, now reading over 3 degrees different from each other only inches apart in the same room. Will give them a day or so to see if they level out, but so far this is pretty useless for measuring the temperatures in our room and our child's room.
Worthless thermometer: beware
July 4, 2017
We bought this thermometer a month and a half ago and it has already stopped working! Our earlier one (a different brand) lasted for years. My husband has tried everything (changing batteries, taking it apart, etc.), but no dice. The outdoor part does not work.

June 11, 2017
after adding new batteries the low battery icon stayed on and would not disappear. i could live with that but i left both units set side by side (4 feet apart) over night to check the temp readings. they were 5 to 7 degrees different and did not change over the next 12 hours so i returned them. i have an older model that i've had for years but it got soaking wet and quite working. i dried it out in a bowl of rice and let it get adjusted to the inside temp so after adding new batteries it is working fine. the new model was junk.
don't buy
April 25, 2017
The connection between base unit and main unit works well for my house (about 25 feet away). The temperature and humidity of outdoor unit is constantly changing and totally wrong. Within seconds the temperature will change 10-20 degrees and humidity never changes. If I keep outdoor sensor next to base unit, the temperature and humid are not close (off by more than 5%). Would not buy again. Not "AcuRite"
Disappointing
March 21, 2017
Did not work. Seems very cheaply made. Side-by-side units showed 5-degree temp difference. Within 24 hours, outside unit stopped working totally. Disappointing. (Great customer service from Amazon on the return)
AccuWRONG would be more appropriate.
March 3, 2017
Verified by my precision scientific thermometer....Reads consistently 4 degrees high on outside temp display. Perfect if you're into math, but not accuracy. Bottom line... inexpensive so you get what you pay for.

Doesn't seem to like the outdoors.

To Small Temperatures
July 20, 2017
Bottom temperature to small to read unless up close.
Beware
July 3, 2017
Transmitter didn't work out of the box. Called support and they were easy to work with and sent me a new one. Finally got it to connect to the receiver and found the range isn't that far maybe 50 feet and the 2 units still loose signal between each other 2x a week for unknown reasons. Found the unit is 3-4 degrees off. I just threw it in the trash and cut my loss. I don't recommend to anyone.
Battery Eater
June 25, 2017
I purchased this indoor/outdoor thermometer on 5/14/17 and set it up with new batteries. It worked well until 6/7/17 when the digits faded and I could no longer read either the indoor or outdoor temperature. I put in all new batteries on 6/7 and it worked fine. Until 6/24/17 when, once again, the digits faded. In both cases I purchased new batteries with expiration date of 2025.
